Guys and gals, and nonbinary pals, I did it! I reached 600 completed faceups since I started this insane journey back in 2011.

To commemorate this huge milestone, I of course repainted my Resinsoul Ai in normal skin (though back when I bought her in 2011 this resin color was called "fleshtone") as I repaint her every 99 faceups to always be the 100th since the last time.

Here's every faceup I've given her in the last 12 years (I did this current faceup in October 2023):

I really like how she turned out this time. I'm still practicing working with acrylic paints, hence why her eyebrows and lashes aren't quite as fine as last time, but overall I am happy with her. I always struggled with my white watercolor paint, so I think it'll be good for me to expand into acrylics for detailing!

One last comparison of my 1st faceup vs my 600th. I'm pretty proud of my growth as an artist in that time!

I love how people bitch about the way META use their pictures to train A.I. to make "art", while simultaneously using apps to have a.i. generated backgrounds (that look horribly fake) for their basic ass doll pictures, to me it's death of all creativity, can't get lazier and more disgusting than that

She's my fourth doll and I took these photos a few years ago. Really love her, even if her hair feels weird.

And here's some other old pictures of her with my Fdoll.

I look back and see how much things have changed from my early days in the hobby to now. I was afraid of touching them because of how fragile they seemed and I only wanted the smaller dolls since they fit so well on my bookshelf and the larger sizes seemed intimidating.

and now I'm just outright hugging my 1/3 dolls.

I do miss how almost magical they seemed since they really lost that quality to me. I obviously still love dolls, but right now, I see them as more of something for creative projects.

I'm personally pretty cool with my doll photos being used to train AI. They're terrible quality pics, the proportions are wrong, and the joints are pretty visible. If enough bad art is used to train it, it'll become useless. Or at least funny. It would be hilarious to see AI start trying to draw joints and out of place bug eyes on art of a "human". I do understand why anyone else would be uncomfortable with it- I just find it entertaining that my trojan horse inferior skills might be helpful.
