I am sure we all have that time and place in our minds that we long to have been a part of?

Perhaps fog-shrouded streets of Victorian London, or the future Jungles of Jupiter? Maybe the Inca period, or part of lost city of Atlantis? Or even just a moment in time that has always fascinated you?

Wherever it may be ( and whatever timeline too) I am sure you will have that place in your mind.

It's time for the 2025 AI Creator Challenge!

I hope as many people as possible will join me for another season of creativity and putting your AI skills to the test. Last year was fantastic, and we saw some truly amazing art, with so many of you taking part.

This season, there will be consistent scoring for each challenge, as follows:

Winner: 5 points

2nd: 4 points

3rd: 3 points

4th: 2 points

5th: 1 point

The winner of each round can either choose the next challenge theme, or nominate someone else to choose a theme.

I thought I'd get the ball rolling with the first challenge of 2025. The theme this time is:

Classic Movie Poster

The rules for this one are simple. Publish a Classic Movie Poster in your own style on your blog and then tag me, as well as all the other participants.

The poster should ideally be from a real movie, but you can make up your own, just as long as it's in a "classic" movie style. If you do your own, give your movie a name!

Just one image please - no animations. If you'd like to provide a short explanation with your image, that would be great.

My entry, if you couldn't tell, is "Back to the Future" - a film I very much enjoyed when I was younger. Perhaps that's where I got a bit of inspiration for my art!

The deadline for entries is the 18th of January. Once the deadline is passed, all participants will vote for a bronze, silver and gold entry. Feel free to tag and invite any other artists who may wish to take part.

The Battle of Cannae – A Day of Reckoning

At dawn on August 2, 216 BCE, beneath the heavy dust of the Apulian plain, two titanic forces faced each other — Rome, the master of Italy, and Hannibal, the shadow from across the sea who had dared to defy her.

The Romans came with overwhelming strength — eighty thousand legionaries, an army so vast it shook the ground as it marched. Arrayed against them, Hannibal’s fifty thousand stood in a formation deceptively simple: a crescent that would bend, but not break.

As the sun climbed higher, the Romans drove forward, smashing into the Carthaginian center. It gave ground, step by bloody step, luring the Roman mass deeper into a trap.

Without warning, Hannibal’s wings — elite African infantry and mercenary warriors hardened by endless wars — swung inward like closing jaws. His cavalry, having shattered the Roman horsemen, returned to complete the circle, sealing the fate of the Roman army.

My Ideal Secret Cabin

Not every cabin needs to be a physical structure and my ideal secret cabin, the one that lets me escape RL and recharge the physical and mental batteries, is a Book !

To lose oneself in a Book is a fabulous way to escape. Open the front cover then jump inside. You can easily lose yourself inside it's pages.

It need not be 'classic' literature. Pulp fiction can capture the imagination in so many ways too.

A literal maze that you must negotiate to get to the end.

A maze you can spend as long as you want inside.

That is my secret cabin, the sanctuary that you can carry with you, pull from a shelf, or open with joy when it is gifted.
