My apple pencil ran out of charge mid shading 😂 so here's a WIP of that wedding sketch I was working on! I still have quite a bit to add, including that hand fasting ribbon that I completely forgot to draw in the lineart, fuckin oopsie, but I'm very happy with it so far!! Thank you to everyone who liked and reblogged the sketch version of this one!! It's so incredibly motivating to feel seen~ ♥

Took a break from writing today to sketch this out. I've been wanting to flesh out Aislyn and Gale's wedding outfits for a while now.

I imagine that Gale would be very open to whatever kind of wedding or joining ceremony his partner desires. For Aislyn, that would mean returning to the Dales and having a natural union ceremony among her clan and village deep within the forest.

I may add a ribbon for hand fasting in the final peice. For now, I wanted to share the sketch. ^^

Very quick little rough sketch before bed. I love the idea of Gale and Aislyn (Tav) sharing their knowledge with one another. I think Gale would be eager to learn any form of magic, especially if it was sacred to his partner.

Before being abducted and infected upon the Nautiloid with a Mind Flayer Tadpole, Aislyn was a skilled hunter living in the dense forests of the Dales with her brother, Einon, her parents and the rest of her clan.

Aislyn is no bard, but has played the flute since she was very young. At camp, she can often be found sitting close to Gale, playing a soft tune while he reads or cooks.

End game spoilers under the cut

She was enamored with Gale from the get go. He and Aislyn found out right away that they were both night owls and would stay up talking together almost every night, getting to know one another. Gale was just as happy to learn her druid magic as Aislyn was to learn how wizards channel the weave.

During the events of the game, Aislyn encourages Gale to embrace his mortality. She also pushes him to seek Mystra's forgiveness. As a servant of Silvanus and nature itself, she understands the importance of having a higher being at your side. Between hours of talking and physical intimacy, Aislyn helps Gale to understand and process his past with the mother of magic, effectively letting him move on with his life.

After defeating the Netherbrain and giving the Crown of Karsus to Mystra, Gale is granted forgiveness and regains his status as one of Mystra's chosen. With her blessing, Gale is certain he can expand his lifespan, just as Elminster did, so that Aislyn would hopefully never know the pain of losing him hundreds of years before her own sunset.

Gale and Aislyn return to the Dalelands to be wed in her clan's traditions. Gale's mother and Tara both present for the ceremonies and celebration. The newly weds don't stay for too long before beginning their life of adventure, seeking ancient knowledge and natural Faerûn secrets, always by each other's side.

Though most of their lives are lived on the road, with Tara at their side, Gale and Aislyn frequently return to Gale's tower in Waterdeep when they have had enough of sleeping outdoors... and to visit Mrs. Dekarios, of course!
