5 (in secret kiss): this is muzan we’re talking about. no way is he showing you his affection in public. i know i have my whole ‘softie in private™️’ muzan thing (really have to think of a better name), but key word: private. the day he shows affection in public is the day i stop liking kpop (jk i’ll never stop).

1 (good morning kiss): since muzan is a softie in private™️, he will gladly shower you with good morning kisses as soon as he wakes up. if you are asleep it does not matter, he’s waking you up.

4 (kiss on the neck): he’s a demon, who i believe has a side of him that’s very flirty and spicy. if you’re a human and you give consent, he’s kissing, biting, licking your neck and feeding off the blood from there. if you’re a demon, he’s still going to kiss, bite, lick, and suck your neck. he is not picky

7 (against a wall kiss): muzan + secretly very into steamy stuff + very dominant = muzan who loves a place where he can cage you in and watch you get flustered 

10 (jealous kiss): as an extraordinarily possessive person, muzan would get jealous A LOT. which leads to a lot of jealous kisses.

13 (lap kiss): especially when he’s jealous or horny. let’s be honest we all know he’d do this if you were an actual object of his affection.

3 (kiss on the nose): let’s be honest, besides lip kisses, this is the only place on his face that you can kiss. his forehead is almost nonexistent and his cheeks are just eyes, unless you’d like to kiss those.

5 (in secret kiss): i feel like since kokushibo is so loyal to muzan, he wouldn’t want to kiss you in public since he’d either be in front of muzan or in the human world. besides, he’s more introverted and a demon so i don’t think he’s big on kisses in public for your reputation especially

7 (against a wall kiss): i don’t even know why, i just feel like he’d like to flex his height on you if you’re shorter than him (which is likely, he’s 190 cm/6’3”). since he’s so tall, why not flex the height while making it intimate?

8 (top of head kisses): again, on his head there are only so many places to kiss since you miss two facial features. he’d like kissing your head, but since he’s likely so much taller it makes him feel secret butterflies when you manage to kiss his head

Dōma (istg i hate this man yall dōma simps better be glad im writing for him)

4 (kiss on the neck): this guy is the most thirsty demon (second only to karaku obvi) and we all know it. he’d probably get grumpy if he couldn’t kiss ur neck at least 10 times a day (separately. the 20 something neck kisses he gave when you woke up only count as one).

7 (against a wall kiss): dōma is……… well it’s dōma, the same guy who says akaza might get stronger if he eats women, the same guy who wanted to make inosuke’s mother his wife, the same guy who forms a crush on the people he kills. using that logic he will gladly pin you up against the wall and kiss you until you’re essentially a tomato. he will not stop even then, he won’t stop unless a

pressing matter appears (aka nothing).

10 (jealous kiss): he gets jealous easily, so why not kiss you out of jealousy too?

12 (accidentally witnessed kiss): using the same logic as 7, he loves showing you off, unlike the previous two demons. he will “accidentally” leave the door wide open when he pins you on the bed and kisses the breath out of your lungs (a common occurrence) and sucks a lot of the blood right out of your veins (another common occurrence. did you ask/want/let him? i don’t know, but i doubt it. sorry)

4 (kiss on the neck): let’s be honest, his name means accumulated anger and he quite literally has anger written on his tongue, he’s being rough with his kissing and trying (and failing) to let off some steam. absolutely the roughest out of every uppermoon, if you thought muzan and dōma were biting a lot get ready to meet this guy. he will not stop until your neck is quite literally all red. props to you for not passing out, although you probably already did

6 (public kiss): he is angry in public, and he will kiss you to try and calm down (not like it works)

Bel's How To: Hiring

Okay, recap. Step one is the resume/availability, aka who are you, do you have the skills we need, and when are you usually busy/have consistent commitments. Those get reviewed, (and for places with more high-risk positions like daycares (there are smols and we protect the smols from jackasses), there are background checks. Mostly those consist of 'are you who you say you are, have you been to jail/what for, are you a decent bloke or a wrong'un, etc. etc.'

Once that's done and you have in fact met the basic requirements, step two is the interview! People on paper can sound a lot cooler and better than they are in real life, escpecially if the stuff on paper is stuff they're giving you. The interview is there to make sure that the person is 'a good fit for the workplace' aka not insufferable. There is an element of dressing to impress, because that demonstrates that you care about the opinions of the people already working there enough to pretty up.

Once you've aced the interview, there will be more deliberation on the employer's end, mainly 'do we like them, are they chill, how are we feeling'? Then the employer will either (depending on how large the comapny is) ask you back for another interview (big company means many many applicants) or say yes!

However! Yes does not mean you're hired. Yes means yes, we'd like you to work for us, here's an offer. The offer will outline things like pay, working hours, training time, duties, all the stuff you need to know before you walk in the door. If you accept the offer, you write back (usually emails) and tell them yes too.

Then you come in for training. If you don't get training before you start a job, your bosses are very probably trash. Nobody comes in knowing exactly how to do a job, even if they've done a hundred jobes like this job. Every little system is slightly different. Training is important.

The amount of time spent on training will vary from business to business, but once training is over, you're onto the probabtionary period! You are essentially a full on member of the business, but legally, it's a trial run. This is a 'just in case' kind of deal, and you might not see some benefits from the job until after it's over. The general rule I've seen is that probation lasts 90 days, but some are longer some are shorter.

And that's my baby basics on the hiring process! I can also talk about the difference between part-time, full-time, and contracted work; general organization and how to run a businesss; and manager stuff.

i'm procrastinating answering all the comments in my inbox, so instead i'll waste my time making a post about 3x3, you're welcome :):):)

right, so the historical costumes on tvd aren't always very ... historical, but the twenties are one era they tend to get mostly right. i say mostly because it's not perfect, and you can see the cracks if you know what you're looking for (we owe a huge part of our perception of the twenties not to the twenties themselves but to the resurgence of that aesthetic during the 50s and 60s, which wasn't necessarily accurate. most media today, tvd included, take inspiration from that era.)

HOWEVER, there's a thing about costuming in 3x3, aka THE twenties episode of this show that i absolutely adore, i think it was a brilliant move character-wise and ALSO showcasing an aspect of the twenties that isn't often talked about or shown on modern media ... and it's also probably on accident. i mean. let's be fair here.

anyway, i'm talking about rebekah's HAIR in this episode.

for context, this here's the style:

it's curled and pinned up into a bob. keyword, pinned up. in case you can't see it, here's her after she's been awoken in 2010, and the style's falling apart:

and her a few episodes later in modern clothes, literally days after, with shoulder-length hair:

conclusion, rebekah's hair has been long all along. now, i don't know exactly where on the timeline the twenties flashbacks are (and as usual with me, unless it's stated explicitly in s1-3, i don't really care what canon has to say), but i like to put them somewhere around 1927, definitely later in the decade, based on how short the women's hems are. the transition between long edwardian skirts and the twenties' knee length dresses was a very long process.

point is, despite fashions of the era, she's had long hair for years. this ... was a real thing that women did. specifically, the style is called the faux bob, and it was a way of pretending you'd bobbed your hair as fashionable women did, while still keeping your long luscious locks that had been in fashion your entire life, your mother's entire life, your grandmother's, and so on and on and on, dating back for as long as memory serves.

(actually, in 3x20, you can see our girls doing the same thing for the decade dance, since they, i presume, didn't want to cut their hair just for one single evening. ALSO, the hems seen that evening are usually too short, owing again, to the glamourisation of this era in the later decades, which is also a nice touch.)

and this??? it's not only historically accurate, but i also love that for rebekah, who had already been alive (undead?) for nine hundred years in those flashbacks, has worn her hair long for this entire time, and would have an even more difficult time parting with it than young women of the time.

it cannot be overemphasised how radical a change in women's fashions the twenties brought about. the shorter hemlines are only a part of that--it was also for the first time fashionable to wear bold makeup and short hair (which this entire post is about). the advancements in technology allowed for the production of faux jewellery (those long strings of pearls you think about when you think twenties would've been far too expensive for many women if they were real) which meant that wearing statement pieces was no longer restricted to just the upper crust, and mass-production of clothes, which had previously been exclusively hand-made, and that contributed to the huge increase in speed at which fashion started evolving.

anyway, i love the idea of rebekah, who has been around for so long and seen so much, valuing her hair the same as she's valued it in her human days. i am completely aware that the reason they did this was so the actress wouldn't have to cut her hair, but i think that anyone who's ever seen and enjoyed tvd is aware that all the best parts of it are accidental anyway.

To Borrowed Time (and Space) Readers

Hello, lovelies.

To those of you who have been with me since this story began, to those who found it along the way, and to those who stuck with me for all this time: Thank you from the bottom of my hearts. What I’m sharing in this letter to you all isn’t exactly news, but more of an acknowledgement of changes I’ve made that have impacted my writing for a long time.

Tl;dr, While I am not planning any more full stories for the foreseeable future, BTaS is far from dead. It’s simply changed form. Regenerated, as it were.

Long version under the cut, and just a heads up, it gets pretty deep and in-depth. You’ve been warned.

When I started writing, it was more of an escape than a hobby. Taking worlds I loved and interacting with them through a proxy I could control (aka my OCs) granted me the freedom I lacked and sought desperately when I was a troubled teen. I especially enjoyed coming up with g/t scenarios, with The Borrowers in particular, to insert into media that was sorely lacking in size differences.

Y’know, like, all of them.

As is probably obvious, Doctor Who was a formative fandom in my youth. It brought me such joy, and combining it with the world of The Borrowers had all the makings of a delicious dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins pie. Thus, Borrowed Time (and Space), and my OC Zepheera, were born.

Zepheera started off as a self-insert mary-sue. I fully acknowledge and admit this without shame or judgment toward mary-sue self-inserts. She also came about during the Moffat era of Doctor Who, which I think affected my writing, and not for the better.

Before any flames start flying, I want it to be clear that I don’t think everything in the Moffat era was terrible, nor is any of this a comment, good or bad, about Steven Moffat as a person. I just know, looking back, that I picked up on some of his worse writing tendencies, in my opinion.

Suffice it to say, my writing style has changed significantly over the years. Since college, I’ve had far less time and energy for long form story writing. I began writing collaboratively with friends, which has helped give me accountability and long-lasting enthusiasm when I have someone to share it with. I also started a job that monetizes one of my other hobbies, which takes up a lot of my mental bandwidth and time.

As for BTaS, I’ve become far more comfortable treating it as a sandbox. It’s a lot easier for me to come up with scenarios under the premise of “Doctor Who but with a borrower companion” and churn out shorter stories within that scope. I’m sure this has been obvious since the majority of what I’ve done since 2016 has mostly been prompts and Zepheera-Visions in various AU spinoffs of BTaS. 

I think it’s time to admit that to myself, and let anyone who is still waiting on the continuation of the original story know that, at least for now, it’s probably not going to happen.

I will be finishing Episode 3: Lost Things Being Found. I got so close to the end, and I did have a plan for it, and parts of that plot will remain relevant to Zepheera’s character moving forward. Honestly, I barely consider most of the main original stories truly canon anymore, as my characterization and direction with Zepheera in particular has changed a lot. I don’t plan on rewriting them to compensate for that, so I’ll sum up a few points about the canon and continuity moving forward.

As I said, the original BTaS is now my sandbox, and any stories I write with Zepheera and the Tenth Doctor are part of that loose canon unless otherwise specified or set apart, like the Donna AU for example.

I don’t intend to hang on to the concept of Zepheera essentially creating borrowers in Episode One. At the time of writing, the only way I knew to write drama was to make big moves with little thought to the consequences, or what it means for the character.

The size-changing ring may stick around in the future, but honestly it mostly existed to be convenient for the plotline and little else.

I am keeping Zepheera’s original backstory involving her early encounter with an alien, with the exception of giving her telekinesis. At the time, I created a companion that existed as more of a plot device rather than a fleshed-out character, and immediately regretted it. All iterations of Zepheera have an unnaturally long life-span, and the healing factor she was born with.

I also don’t have plans for resolving Zepheera’s brain trauma, so that thread is also going to be dropped.

I also want to take the time to put it out there that I am not looking for any new writing partners. The ones I have are saints for how patient they’ve been with me over the years. And I want to make it clear that I have a very loose policy for accepting writing prompts. I love suggestions, but forcing myself to write something that doesn’t spark my interest is generally counterproductive. So, unfortunately, not every prompt will be filled.

I’m still here. I’m alive, and I do care about this story. I’ve just realized that I and it both benefit from the flexibility of shorter stories rather than long, overarching ones. I hope you all understand, and will stick with me for as long as I am inspired to add to this concept.

Lmao I don't even know where to start. So Oracle is a paramilitary PMC that has ZERO ties to any government, country or anything really. Like there are no ties.

Oracle has several goals but the biggest one is making sure humans don't obliterate non-humans and vice versa. Aside from that this world, setting, whatever you wanna call it deals with anything and everything paranormal.

Look, my dumbass 14-year-old ass was watching a James Bond movie one day and I thought, "Huh, what if this shit had werewolves in it?" and so Oracle was made. Actually, it was made later during the summer of 2000 'cause my mom's ex had promised we'd have a fun family summer of traveling the island and doing so many fun things. I bought a journal to document it all. Midsummer rolled around and we did nothing and my journal was blank so I took that previous idea and fucking RAN TO THE HILLS WITH IT. 23 years later we have this massive as fuck all world in my brain that I bother everyone with.

Anyway, Oracle started with 3 men. A werewolf, a vampire and a human during the height of the Akkadian empire! The werewolf is actually the man that is now known as Aleksey Malakhov aka Angelus's grandfather aka Jelani's father-in-law/mentor.

He had a different name back then I just forgot and I don't feel like looking through my hundreds of notes and files to find it.

By the way, Aleksey is Sumerian. He's been around for a while now. In fact he was one of the very first werewolves. All 4 of the first werewolves are Sumerian and yes, they are still alive today in 2023. How? Werewolves are VERY long lived but not that long. It's part of the original curse. The first of every breed inherets the curse and has to live with it forever.

Spoiler alert. With Angelus being the FIRST and frankly the only Crossedbreed he is also cursed. He can't die. He just hasn't realized that but Aleksey knows it and doesn't feel like telling his grandson will help in anyway. Is that a bad thing? Probably but he's doing it out of love. Angelus had been suicidal for decades and had attempted suicide so many times he lost count after 200 times. He's doing far better now a days though.

We don't have just werewolves here in Oracle. There are werewolves, vampires, fairies, monsters--shorter list is what we don't have: aliens. Idk it's not my thing. If you wanna say there ARE aliens in Oracle then who am I to say there aren't any.

As I kept expanding Oracle I wanted to add people from different cultures, backgrounds, ethnicities, believes, religions, faiths. We have EVERYTHING here. When I say I have a metric shit ton of OCs I mean it with my entire chest. I want to represent everyone. Easier said than done 'cause I wanna be accurate and respectful and a lot of times that means doing a lot of research and sometimes it gets tedious. I'm just one man behind all of this fantastical nonsense.

Yeah, I mostly talk about Loke, Jelani, Trevor and Angelus because those are my comfort characters and I know them better than I know my own damn self. Not gonna sit here and lie, Jelani's at the forefront for any and all Oracle things. Everywhere I am online I use him as a pfp. He's the mascot if that makes sense. I am extremely proud of this character and I love him so much. He's to Oracle what Pikachu is to Pokemon. Idk if that makes sense.

Oracle doesn't just focus solely on the PMC. There are so many things that make up this setting. There's groups of humans that hate and fear anything that isn't human and want to kill them all off. The most infamous being the Council of the Knights which admittedly has been a thorn on Oracle's side for a few centuries now. We have problematic vampire covens who think of non-vampires as cattle and make shit difficult for others. We have a death cult led by a very unstable woman who created a virus that destabilized actual fucking deities into destroying shit with the help of a deity (actually it's a Concept but that's too complicated for now). There's also deities themselves that every so often wanna start shit. Because of that we have people like the Nyota tribe from Kenya who have dedicated their entire lives to keeping a rogue and exiled Maker imprisoned so They don't start Their stupid nonsense again.

What the fuck is a Maker? There is a hierarchy when it comes to deities.

Iirc it's demigods, gods, and finally Makers. Makers are the gods of the gods. Those are like actual creators, they make the rules and shit but they also break 'em. They're complicated. There is NOTHING above a Maker...except for the Concepts. The best way I can explain a Concept is that they are ideas and the very first Concept is the Concept of Existence. There's the Concept of Evil, Concept of Concequense, Concept of Good, Concept of Nothingness and many more. CoE and CoN are opposing ideas that have been at each other's throats since always.

Concepts intervene in life but they don't at the same time. They also only exclusively communicate with Makers. Only Makers. Jelani has an...interesting role with CoE and some other Makers and by extension with CoN. I can explain that in another post cuz it's a lot and complicated.

So as for what kind of creatures Oracle has? Like I said I wanna add any and all cultures so there's everything to pick and choose from. I've even invented a few. Are there cryptids? Yes! In this setting things like the Mothman, Bigfoot, Nessie, Jersey Devil and just basically all cryptids are just creatures from other planes/realms whatever you wanna call them. Some people use planes others use realms some others use other words. How the fuck did they get from one to ours? Easy. Portals. Portals are unstable and quite frankly scary natural phenomena that happens randomly all over the world. Sometimes creatures and animals get caught in them and get trapped in other realms. Sometimes it's a building, sometimes an entire town gets trapped.

Is there magic? Yes, there is!

Can anyone use/learn magic? Yes! We don't do that stupid "chosen one, only a select few can use or learn magic" bullshit here. Magic is an ability that anyone can learn to use.

Are there rules? Yes!.....I just gotta find that stupid file where I have it and I'll post it if anyone wants to know more about it.

Oracle deals with things of magical natures too as well as portals and planes. There are actual black sites where, and I use this word loosely, "stable" portals lead to other planes that need to be checked every so often. Not many Oracle agents have access to this kind of op by the way. It's really need to know level type shit.

So back to the founding of Oracle. These 3 men, these sell swords got together and went into business together and were like unstoppable. As time went on 3 became 6 then 6 became 9 and then we get to 2023 with Oracle still very much alive and kicking with thousands of agents all over the world with 6 branches spread across the world and 2 training facilities.

If Oracle is 100% independent from any government then how does it pay it's agents and employees?

Aleksey has invested very wisely, owns parts of companies, owns whole ass major companies that generate a bitch ton of money. All of these are made up by me obviously. Part of the profits from those hundreds of companies go into the pockets of agents, assets, and Familiars. It pays for weapons, gear, vehicles, gadgets, ammo, facilities, housing--EVERYTHING!

Look I don't know how realistic that is I'm horrible at math and economics so just go with it.

Wtf is a Familiar?

A Familiar is a person (non-human or human) that indirectly works for Oracle. They give information, keep an eye on certain groups, areas, phenomena and the like. Familiars can be approached by Oracle to join as agents IF they so choose.

There are certain rules that apply to certain characters, places, ideas, creatures and stuff but for the most part I like living things open to enterpretation and flexible.

I think C said it best. Oracle can be described as "weird espionage with a cosmic horror twist". It's got a tiny teeny alternate history to it too.

SDCC 2023 Recap (Abridged)

Hello! 

This is a funky thing, but welcome to an abridged blog?! This won't usually be the case, but if you want to know more about my time at SDCC, including a couple lightly funny stories and a LOT more pictures, the full thing is up on my Patreon. 

What do you do during SDCC? 

Doing things around the show is very hard! 

I was up by 6 and out of the house before 8 most every day of the show and--while we took it pretty easy with our after con events--besides the shorter Preview Night, they were 12+ hour days! Also complicated by having a friend staying with us, which was lovely, but complicated because we were not on the same schedule!

But what does someone like me do during SDCC? Why would I have 12+ hour days?!

I am at a point, where thankfully, my conventions where I'm working on IDW's behalf are often self-directed. As you can see in a few of these photos, I had the Sonic the Hedgehog: Racing into the 900th Adventure panel that I moderated for IDW on Sunday morning, but most of my other time was spent taking meetings I had set up ahead of time and impromptu meetings that naturally occurred over the course of the show.

Ahead of time, I had set up around 6 meetings a day, with a lighter Wednesday and Sunday. And that's about what I was hitting every day. A few times, due to the natural course of events, things got cancelled at the last minute or folks got trapped in the wrong place and couldn't get to where we were supposed to talk before I had to run to my next commitment, but almost inevitably, those times were then spent talking to other folks.

While I probably can't talk too much about the content of any of these meetings or who all I was talking to, as an editor, I mostly met with creative talent and a couple of licensing partners. To break things down a little bit further, there are a few broad categories most of my editorial meetings fall into: Project-Specific - I want to work with person X on thing Y and this is a chance to meet face-to-face about it; Introductory - Person X and I are aware of each other's work, but haven't previously had a chance to really talk, so this is a chance to get to know each other and for them to share samples; Relationship Management - I, or someone else at IDW, have worked with person X before and would like to again, but maybe don't have a specific project in mind, so this is a chance to catch-up and explore what our options could be, as well as just make sure they know they're on the company's mind. 

And while many of my meetings were very enjoyable because there are a lot of excellent folks working in comics who wanted to make the time, I also got just a little bit of time for my own fun stuff!

Highlights included the Junji Ito exhibit, where I got to see original art pages from the course of like a 40 year career, attending the Best and Worst Manga Panel (which got cut short due to a false fire alarm!) and the Magma Comix panel right afterward, and getting to try the food and enjoy the atmosphere of the Sonic Speed Cafe! And Becca got to meet and get a little sketch from Matt Groening in the booth they were working at!

What I enjoyed this week: Blank Check (Podcast), Craig of the Creek (Cartoon), Honkai Star Rail (Video game) Yu-Gi-Oh: Duel Links (Video game), My Adventures with Superman (Cartoon), the beach, The Broken Room by Peter Clines (Book), Crime Scene Kitchen (TV show), Dumbing of Age (Webcomic), SDCC which kept me from most new things!

Hi! I'm Joana, aka Mysty, aka a few other names depending on where you know me online! I'm a 32-year-old woman with ADHD and chronic pain, among other things, and I need help.

For almost six years I've worked at the same fast food restaurant, and even during lockdown, I got mostly full-time hours and was able to sustain myself on this job as the minimum wage in my state is higher than average and I have a sister who I live with and split bills with.

Well, back in September, I had a meltdown due to stress. Since then, I've been fighting with the store to actually cut down my hours a little so I could avoid both the extremely stressful dinner shift and being there when my ADHD medication wears off. At first I thought the store manager understood because I got the slightly shorter shifts I had requested. And then they went right back to scheduling me how they were. When I tried to talk about it, the store manager gaslit me, trying to tell me I had never said I wanted the reduced hours as my permanent schedule, even though I had a note on my phone I had written so I would be prepared with what to say when I spoke with her, timestamped for that September.

And now, because I spoke up, they've pretty much slashed both mine and my sister's hours to practically nothing. In this month of January, I've averaged between seven and thirteen hours, and my sister's been about the same. We have bills to pay! We have rent, phone, internet, groceries, everything that an adult is expected to have.

So here's where you can help me. I have a few things to present to you guys.

Changing!!

Number five. Springtraps entire character. He is based otf someone who is a child murderer aka william afton, Why was he like the most chilliest guy I don't get it at all, he was like super friendly half the time though even though hes like based off a child murderer, wtf eddo (69th time I've said that). Making him to be obsessed with shadows and the shadow realm.

Number four. Anns personality and character arc. She was superrrrrr basic for someone who got the entire band together foremost (she started the idea), and I'm pretty sure it was said she was like bipolar???? Idk but i remember hearing someone say that. So i would show more symptoms of that but also giving her personality that isnt including that. Showing her struggle through sp said disorder. Her character src is something I'm still working on right now and thinking of what to do.

Number three. The ENTIRE plot of season two and season three also the ending of season one. Season two was ass and I dont have to explain why it was terrible. Season 3 was confusing but the art style was drop dead gorgeous. Season 1 ending will be done a bit different some things will stay the same like them singing ed sharren will be the same but have different impacts. something like that.

Number two. BxB. It was so awkward half the time Im sorry plus I dont really like it. Like there's no real chemistry between them from what I remember just Bon having the biggest crush ever on Bonnie. Probably make another ship eith Bon cannon and Bonnie aroace. Never making it BxB cannon bevause it was also seemingly basic for me.

Number one. The names. Who in their utter right mind would name their baby "fox" or like "bonnie" IT JUST DOESNT MAKE SENSE💀💀💀. Instead those will be nicknames that they were given and they they barley use their actual names except for freddy, ann, and aiden. Those names are fine but not golden for fucks sake. I get that your parents are rich and famous dawg but they wouldnt go out their way and name you that.

Extra!! What the shadow realm does to people aka no shadows if you enter it and stay there for a long time. Shit goes bad quickly. You start seeing things, You become paralyzed, Parts of your body changes into something more non human, You start going crazy oer say. Going mad even. You start having a low temper, Limps become longer or shorter, Bones change, It feels like your entire head is splitting apart. Not going into full detail due to it being mostly body horror. This doesn't happen if shadows go to like the human realm or whatever.

Things that are staying the same.

number five. The camp arc. LISTEN TO ME, THIS WAS THE BEST ARC IN THE SHOW. IT WAS SO GOOFY. SO SP SO FUVKING GOOOFY. A KID IS HIGH, OTHER KIDS ARE LOST, THEY'RE SINGING SHAPE OF YOU, SOME OLD COUPLE IS IN THE FOREST THAT SOMEHOW NOBODY FUCKING KNOWS THAT THEY WERE THERE. BITCHES ARE GOING INSANE, BARELY ANY ADULT SUPERVISION, BON IS BEING BON, THERE ARE ANIMAL SPIRIT THINGS LIKE EVERY FUCKING WHERE, SOME KID IS BEING CONTROLLED BY SOMEONE WITH GREEN HAIR AND PRONOUNS, AND IN THE MIDDLE OF FUCKING NO WHERE WITH INTERNET OR ANY WAY TO CALL HOME. It must stay. It wouldnt be the same without it.

Number four. The band singing shape of you at the end. Best part of the camp arc fr. It was such a beautiful sence how can I not add it.

Number 3. The way the animatronics meet. I love the idea of meeting all these people in detention and becoming friends with them. Golden will also get into detention too with them. He cries like a little bitch.

Number 2. All the cannon back stories we see will stay the same. Sorry meg and aiden, you gotta suffer, esp meg she deserves suffering when you are having that big ass forehead. (megamind kinnie)

Suptober 12 Oct.: Crossover

"Men in black are crawling all over the place," Buck whispered, sounding far more excited than Eddie felt about any of it. "Look at those guys. Black ops if I've ever seen 'em."

wherein Team Free Will are observed by a couple of members of LAFD Station 118 aka spn crossover with 9-1-1 (Fox). deancas ust + buddie if you squint for it

"You need to come look at this," Buck told Eddie. He'd probably aimed for being surreptitious, but Eddie clocked Chim's eyebrow twitching. 

"Go ahead," Chim said after a second, sighing. "Everything's under control here." He finished taping down a bandage on the elbow of an elderly woman who'd skinned it on the way down the fire escape.

Buck gave Eddie an impatient look, all but bouncing like a Tigger back into the still-smoky back hallway of the apartment complex. 

Eddie followed with his own sigh.

In apartment 1013, he nearly walked into Buck, who was standing in the middle of the room taking in the scene. Eddie, on the other hand, wanted to keep moving; he did not, in fact, want to be in this apartment ever again, because what the fire hadn't burned away was straight out of a late night local access schlockfest movie marathon – only real? Incoherent symbols were scribbled on the walls in blood; viscera (who's? Or what's?) dripped off the kitchen counter; a tub of what could only be described as mega snot had tipped over onto the shelves of the open refrigerator. 

Above Buck's head, what was left of the light fixture? Purplish sticky slime that strung its way from the center of the burst glass globe and out across the ceiling like a hellish spider web. Waaay outside of Eddie's pay grade to explain.

"Men in black are crawling all over the place," Buck whispered, sounding far more excited than Eddie felt about any of it. "Look at those guys. Black ops if I've ever seen 'em."

Over by the busted-out alley-side window, three men were talking – arguing, perhaps – amongst themselves. Two of them could've been called Tall and Taller, and were reasonably well dressed for feds. The other one was only a bit shorter, but he gave off a different vibe. More grizzled detective – or, no, wait. That guy'd turned his electric blue gaze on Eddie and all the hair on Eddie's arms jumped like he'd touched a live wire. Eddie didn't believe in curses or hooky spooks or paranormal nonsense. He did sometimes have extremely potent instincts about people, and the fed wearing the trenchcoat was…not to be crossed.

"This gettin' through to you at all?" Eddie heard Tall tell that guy, who was no longer looking right at Eddie, thank God.

Eddie exchanged a look with Buck and they both pretended, badly, not to be listening to the conversation.

"I understand your concern, Dean." Trenchcoat had the deepest voice Eddie had ever heard in his life. Although maybe it was because he'd inhaled smoke; his trench was singed lightly around the shoulders. "But I'm fine."

"You were on fire," Tall said in a clipped way. "Sam, back me up here."

"My coat was on fire," Trench corrected. "As you know I myself am mostly inflammable."

Buck's face did so many things as he whispered, "What the fuck?" under his breath. Eddie commiserated.

"Hey, newsflash, buddy." Oh, Tall was angry now; his deep voice was fraying with it. "We burned you less than six months ago. I laid your corpse on the pyre myself and lit the kindling and stood there until you were nothing but ash." 

That was such an insane thing for someone to say, and Tall sounded – and looked – so heartbroken saying it, Eddie stopped breathing for a second. 

Buck had moved past it, apparently. "This is code. They're talking about some kinda clandestine, burn notice type thing," he hissed to Eddie. "We're standing in the middle of something big."

Eddie wasn't as convinced. The trenchcoat fed hadn't said anything; he was looking at Tall like he'd just received revelation, or been punched in the gut, which was interesting because something told Eddie that guy could usually take a punch no problem.

"Here you are!" Hen said, and Buck made a noise of surprise while Eddie leapt away like a grim reaper's bony fingers had clutched his arm.

"Jesus," he said, catching his breath.

"Sor-ry." Hen drew out the syllables, likely to indicate she wasn't even the slightest bit sorry. "Cap wants to wrap things up and head out." She looked around at the apartment's general state of gore and whistled. "This is worse than that lame castle you made us go to last year, Buck."

"First of all, Panic Palace is an iconic establishment, and your inability to find joy while being chased by zombie werewolves makes me sad." Buck dug more of his own graves than anyone Eddie had ever known. "Secondly." He lowered his voice. "Those agents over there are trouble, I'm telling you, Hen. They're gonna sanitize this place the second we leave."

"All right there, Mr. Bond, take a deep knee bend, would you?" Hen said, alongside Eddie saying, "Let them."

Buck looked betrayed and Eddie took a mental note to make it up to him later.

"I don't want to spend another second in this place," he said, slapping Buck on the shoulder.

Some of the wall paint seemed to have blistered only where the blood was, Eddie noticed. New type of accelerant? He was incredibly thankful to not be the person who had to do anything about it. He followed Hen and Buck out the door, looking back only once. He saw Trench reach up and cup Tall's jaw, just for a moment; Tall leaned into the touch, as if in thrall to it.

Eddie was pretty sure that, of all things, was gonna be the image that haunted him for some time to come.

bloodmoon huntress review

I’ll be sharing more of my in depth thoughts on a Podcast episode (hopefully recorded tonight or tomorrow when I get the chance!), including an initial non-spoilers review section there for anyone who is waiting for their copy! But because this is a visual format and therefore I can include pictures, this one is going to be briefer but have spoilers!

So let’s dig in!

First Off, things that surprised me:

How much I love the little Skywing elf, Suroh! I was already very excited for him and while he and Rayla didn’t develop as friends as much as I thought they might, I will be definitely working him into fics and using that sweet “basically clean slate characterization wise but canonically knows & is on friendly terms with Rayla” spot like my life depends on it

That we saw Lain and Tiadrin saying goodbye to Rayla. I never thought we’d see that scene in anything, let alone that we’d be seeing them in this comic. But it was utterly heartbreaking, foreshadowed and reaffirmed so much of Through The Moon in exactly the ways I hoped.

As well as the event that likely (understandably) gave Rayla her fear of water, poor kiddo! That scene was horrifying and so well drawn, my heart went out to her (and also screamed about all the parallels, but more on that later).

I didn’t expect to see a moment where Runaan doubted being an assassin, so that was really interesting (and again, reaffirming; hi “If time is money” headcanons!) to see him have it, and how Ethari subsequently alleviated it. Which is both tender and so incredibly complicated in terms of regret and grief and just. gaah. More thoughts later

Things that Delighted Me

Ever since S1 came out I’ve thought it was likely that Rayla had little to no friends growing up, and BH proved me right, given we never see her interact or ask for help from other Moonshadow children, and her canonical best friend at this point is an adoraburr. So when I say delighted here, I really mean delighted and heartbroken in the best way.

On a similar note, sometimes I wonder if I read too much into TDP with my big ol’ analytical brain, but then stuff like this comes out, with so many scenes that paid such intentional care in the language used in terms of motifs, parallels, arc words, etc. that I know that I’m not, and it always makes me feel both warm and fuzzy inside and incredibly excited to analyze.

And it was good/funny to see that Rayla and Runaan have literally always been Like This, even if they reach their own understanding, and what drove Rayla to (wrongfully) choose the path of an assassin, even if it was understandable on both sides at the time. Also broke my heart to see Andromeda so young and that Rayla probably spent time sitting in on lessons all the time growing up when she wasn’t being trained herself :’(

Cons??

The Bloodmoon Huntress herself was deeply cool, but the layer of removal (aka she mostly went after Suroh, who while I love, we aren’t deeply attached to) made her feel a bit disconnected, like she was there to provide a conflict > than being a character. I am curious about the fact she escaped, though, and how that could tie into the future, as I was sure she’d be killed by the end (and Rayla seeing Runaan’s work come to fruition like that in a useful way).

All the Runaan/Ethari scenes were so sweet, but I was surprised we focused more on their individual bonds with Rayla > equal time regarding their own bond with each other, so I actually would’ve liked to see more! Still very pleased with all we got, especially all the casual affection and touching.

Also - and I was reading this at like 3am with very little sleep so take with a grain of salt - the pacing felt a little fast. IDK if it’s because the book took place over a seemingly shorter amount of time (a couple of weeks) even though so much was happening, or because there were quite a few scenes that all had the same message (Rayla wanting to know what Runaan does) that didn’t go anywhere for a little while, but the pacing felt a bit off. It also may be because I was expecting something like Through The Moon (5/5 stars, whereas I would give BH a 3.5 or 4/5) where the whole thing was about pacing and processing emotions, and that wasn’t as much the case here.

Conclusion

Loved it, thought it was super cute and heartwarming overall, am curious to see if we learn about the Bloodmoon huntress and her phials, and happy for the Ruthari / moon stans, y’all deserve this!

"Wonder why Rizeol is out," Jasmin says as Daemis-kasin calls out instructions for the next strengthening exercise. She sucks in a breath before pushing up into the new position easily. "Dunno," I say. "Probably sick, a couple other kids have been out lately too. Didn't Audrie say something about it being the season for it?" Audrie grunts from Jasmin's other side, but I can't tell if it's because he's confirming what I said or if it's just because he fell. "Or," Jasmin says, "maybe that's not it. He lives on campus, Laeline, but I checked his room and everyone said they hadn't seen him in a while. Don't you think something's off here?"

atla murder mystery: what it says on the tin...because titles are a Struggle and they're usually the last step in my writing process, so that's what you get (for now). ft. detective sokka and dual timelines! there'll be a title someday... excerpt:

Ozai Kazuichi. Harsh angled contours, severely drawn eyebrows, piercing gold eyes that, even in death, seem to stare straight through Sokka’s soul. So this is the man that ruled an empire. Or, was.

dragon wip: also atla. a lot of Feelings, with a pinch of plot. dragon zuko is having a Time. probably going to be a lot shorter than i initially planned, but word counts have a habit of getting away from me, so who knows? excerpt:

Zuko stares at the long, scaly body now trailing down the hallway—his body, he realizes with horror—and tries not to scream. He’s a fucking dragon. What the hell? He clamors to his feet, slipping and thudding back to the floor several times as he tries to figure out where exactly his feet are now and how they’re supposed to move. What the hell. Stars and sands, he knew Peony was trouble.

My own take on Hermits, the species

SO, got some Hermit things if wanted. Hermits average height: 4,10 about 147 cm (This is a bit over shoulder height for someone who is 5,6 (167cm)  Look wise I chose the more typical elf look, pointy ears and just being shorter as if younger Also maybe a specific eye color to distinguish Hermits as Hermits, I was thinking grey or white mostly to match any particulate skin. I also gave them W pupils after cuddle fish, I think tripling their perceived colors Some none mc things (aka not relevant to the game or look of characters) hermits whatever they are are really receptive to outside genes. So for example Doc who is a creeper still looks creeper-y just with pointy ears and shorter. And flexible, I don't know why but watching this I was thinking, yeah that makes sense. I'm also thinking weirdly buff. Not like beefy but oddly strong for however tiny. Some personal opinions on height, Bdubs 4,4 (130cm) Doc 5,6 (167cm) For anyone wanting to imagine 4,4 to any of the tall people of empires, I added some people (Bdubs, Doc as listed here, and Joel at 10,9) Don't know if they'll pop up but that is all my info dumping and ideas https://hikaku-sitatter.com/en/ I have some drawings and will probably likely maybe post them somewhere

I binged like a whollleeeeee bunch of digital horror content today (from the associated tvtropes page). Mostly youtube focused since I didn’t have the energy for much else.

Most of the preamble was reading about the things scattered across websites like CamDrome (which was interesting. Didn’t feel like signing into youtube to watch the video on it when it was at pax ‘13, so I only got to read the comments and the twitter account. Kinda boring and felt…unfinished.)

Properly started with “Crow 64” aka Catastrophe Crow which was interesting. Watched the first video linked by the tvtropes page, and didn’t know where else to start so ended up watching the recap video by NightMind (VERY GOOD channel btw). Very similar to Shipwrecked 64 but a lot shorter given the major arg components to it that were already solved by the time I got around to it. Probably very satisfying though to figure it out! Doesn’t have the same vibes as the Shipwrecked 64 game though. A little bite-sized piece compared to it, coming after the fact. I give it like, a 4/10 in terms of scariness. (For scale, I’ll say Shipwrecked was like, an 8.5/10)

Then I watched Angel Hare after seeing NightMind’s video on it in the recs, which was also very good!! But not exactly the horror content I was looking for. I still loved it though!!!!!!!! Only takes about an hour to get through it so if you have the time definitely watch the whole series, it’s the least scary one of the bunch but it’s still really good. Truthfully I had picked it up before and stopped after the first video because I didn’t exactly vibe with it, but after giving it another chance I’m really glad I went back to it. (Also the Shipwrecked 64 creator cameo in the patrons list!) All in all, like, a 2/10 on scariness imo. Perfect for people who are more sensitive to horror to get into.

Then I went to ChainmailChasers. It is also unfinished, but given that it only started last year I don’t mind. What they currently have posted is GOLD. Also found out real creepypasta lore digging around in the comments section and through the one related video linked in the description of the Mario origin one. I am very very very excited to see more from them. I’m SO excited it’s unreal. I don’t want to spoil too much, but if you aren’t a fan of face horror I wouldn’t recommend this. If you can stomach the jeff the killer picture (you know the one) for long periods of time you should be good. The creativity that went into this series is INSANE. I’m seriously amazed. 6/10 for scariness.

Next up was hiimmarymary (Hi I’m Mary Mary) which I didn’t watch all of yet so I’ll be back for that one. So far it’s really good, but I’m only like 6 videos in.

THIS GD ASK HAS PLAGUED MANY A USERS INBOX, and yknow how i said i didnt know the terminology of RPBlogs? That included those who had “Mutuals Only” as a rule of their blog.

To those whos blogs i did invade, I do apologize. I will say that i have improved since then.

(Also SHOUTOUT TO THOSE WHO ACTUALLY RESPONDED DESPITE THEIR OWN RULES /pos Istg i look back on this Invading copy and paste ask with HEAVY cringe, but I also remember feeling so ballistically happy seeing the “X answered your ask” notification. I hope all is well for you ^^)

Back to this list of how things were, pretty much said above but to put it shorter and more organized, Back when i ran IsT/IaM i was very Invasive and i was unaware of boundaries. And this was mostly due to it being back when i was about 14-15. (Im an Adult now dw ^^”)

Lastly and pretty much the only last changes and differences… Isane, the Metang OC of this blog, Is getting a name change and Overhaul. This is primarily for finding purposes ig? Basically, There is a character from a different fandom i follow, Bleach, with a character of the same name. (If anything i legit just stole the name cuz i liked Isane lmao). I do not have a new name decided *yet, but am actively searching so i can get it set in stone for the blog. And in terms of the actual overhaul, im going to look into updating, aka giving, her lore as well as (likely the only thing anyone i interacted with gave a shit about if at all) a redesign. Whether im going to turn her into a default blue and silver metang, or my Orrian Metang design is also still to be decided (you can find said design here )

Now all the big stuff i will admit is under the previous section by accident and ive noticed this post is getting pretty lengthy so ill try to keep this section short and to the point.

MGM is likely going to be identical to ItS in the fact it will still be an Indie NonSelective Blog. Though if i wanted to label every applicable term i found to give a better idea of what itll be: Indie, Pokemon/Metang OC, Based on Canon events that happened in both the mainline pokemon games as well as Pokemon Colosseum/GoD:XD, though will likely focus mainly on Unova B2W2* in writings.

Now i will say, factually in my stance, i should NOT go around peoples inboxes all wild andlikely childish. Even if i didnt make the other person uncomfortable, there were cases where i did make some uncomfortable… likely those who had stated mutuals only and yet here i was, a complete stranger banging on the ask box. Im probably going to just stick with those who interact with me first because of this and keep me going into inboxes at a minimal (i.e posted staters, prompts, etc.)

Kinda to keep parallel with the previous section, in terms of age rating im thinking ill have this blog be 18+. Not because of any mature material (if anything this blogs gonna be pretty sfw since its a gd METANG) but to avoid any uncomfortable complications regarding me, an 18y/o adult interacting with teens/minors of any age tumblr allows (I dont know what to even think of this cuz i just turned 18 not too long ago so from what ive heard i shouldnt have to worry about this type of stuff in the way say a 24y/o should), im just deciding in the hopes to just avoid any complications just keep the 18y/o me in the 18+ audience.

And that about wraps up all there is in terms of blog comparisons.. this was mostly focused on the blog technichalities and i will look into setting up a accessable Rules and About page when i get everything set up and can move onto a theme.

Im sorry this was so long but i felt it was best to post this now while everything i want to do is still fresh in my mind.

Fate & Time Travel

My brain had Thoughts yesterday while at work and I figured “hey why not type them up in a nice lil worldbuilding post for WBW?”

And then I realized it would not be a little post because I have a lot of thoughts. Buckle up kids, cause this is gonna be long lmao

So. Fate and time travel. Aka characters who can only find out, and characters who can fuck around and find out lol.

Time is like a tapestry (yes we’re using this metaphor. deal with it :P). Each person’s life is a thread, woven together to form pictures most people can never see. 

Now, despite the fact that this entire post was brought on by Nova thoughts, we’re gonna start with Astral (because it’s shorter lol). In Astral, there are two types of what I’ll affectionately call time fuckery. The first are seers like Will, people who have the ability to see bits and pieces of the tapestry.

Now, a valid side question is: if they can see the future, why not attempt to change it? Especially in the case of bad things happening *cough cough aka the entire Dragon Ridge arc lmao*? Well you see. It turns out fate/time is incredibly resistant to being fucked with outside of set boundaries. Any attempt to avoid said fate will result in corrections happening that are often worse than the original fate.

Which is where the second type of time fuckery comes in: people like Io, who are able to manipulate the threads of fate directly. That is the only way of changing the future that’s not guaranteed to fuck everything up, and even then, playing carelessly with fate could still result in harsh corrections to prevent the tapestry from unraveling. 

For the most part, this is probably gonna be information that only I (and y’all reading this) know. Most seers are either told or learn from experience that changing the future holds harsh consequences, and those consequences have scared Io out of ever trying to tamper with the actual threads.

Ain’t that the way of the worldbuilding sometimes tho lol. Anyhoot, onto Nova (and all the Thoughts lol).

In Nova, there’s not so much “magic time based powers” but rather “morally dubious government is attempting to create time travel”. However, there are some issues with these experiments. 1. said unforgiving nature of time and tampering 2. considering humanity’s tendency to brute force their way through problems, said initial attempts at time travel are equivalent to blowing holes through the tapestry of time. So yeah. There are issues, and essentially nobody is able to do any sort of successful tampering/traveling through time.

*holds up Jay like a naughty brat cat* except for this lil shit :D

From the outside, Jay’s powers appear to be ye olde typical time travel powers: hop between the future and past and stepping out of the normal flow of time. But on a deeper level, Jay’s time fuckery is the ability to unravel his own thread, hop back and forth on the tapestry, and most importantly, his magic will patch things up and prevent the tapestry from unraveling due to his fucking around. Now, there are limits of course, some paradoxes are unforgivable, but a solid.... 90? 95? % of the time he’s not gonna be destroying the fabric of reality with his fucking about.

Which leads to fun lore about the “Time Travel AU”, which is the entire reason why I started thinking about time and magic and fate and all that jazz

There are three key components to the inciting incident of TTAU: 1. Project Chronos (said time travel experiment talked about earlier) 2. Jay’s nova happening in the vicinity of Project Chronos, creating a mostly-stable rip in time. 3. A certain individual who knows about Project Chronos Said person goes and fucks with the rift left by Jay’s nova, and all hell breaks loose.

Up until that point, Jay’s magic (unintentionally woven into the rift) was doing its passive job of keeping shit from unraveling. But the second somebody else tried to fuck with time, all bets went off. And such, all hell breaks loose as the tapestry attempts to fix itself, paradoxes happen, but the final nail in the coffin is when James gets shot. That is where two lines-of-no-return are crossed. 1. Your younger self dying is one of those unforgivable paradoxes 2. We’ve now paradoxed our way out of having that nice stabilizing magic woven into this mess of a rift in time.

So what’s a guy do to when his younger self is bleeding out in his arms and the very fabric of reality is falling apart around him?

Did you guess create more paradoxes? Cause that’s sure what fuckin happens :D

On the surface, Jay’s plan is to stop said person from fucking with the rift however possible which, considering the ticking clock that is James slowly bleeding out, ends up being caving in the path to Almaraz.

But Nova magic is incredibly instinctual, working on a subconscious level at times. So when Jay uses his magic to collapse the tunnel, thinking I have to fix this, his magic goes Okay and fixes shit. Tapestry repaired (except for the rift), the past few weeks of time scrubbed from existence, every thread woven back where it belongs, plus a little cave in to prevent all this shit from happening again.

And if Jay’s thread is forever splintered, half of it lost in paradoxes, sacrificed to keep the very fabric of reality together, well... it’s not like he knows it’s broken, considering he only starts seeing threads after TTAU concludes.

On that note, one more lil “fun” fact before I stop rambling and queue this post up to sleep lmao

You know that whole deal of “the more you do something the better you get at it”? So the more Jay hops through time, the better he gets at unraveling his thread from the rest of the tapestry. And the better he gets at that, the easier it is for his thread to just... slip a little loose, on occasion. And it’s not like his thread was woven very tightly in the first place, after going nova right on top of attempted time travel experiments.

In other words, Jay’s having a great time with his entire life :P
