What a grand way to RISE! Yesterday I decided to check out @duolingo as suggested by my girl @regal_sep85 and my young kings who use it in school. I found myself quite pleased with the features of this free app! HOWEVER I have been dismayed by the fact that there is 🙅 audio for the Swahili learning modes. Why sway 🤔? Chinua Achebe's "Things Fall Apart", was every bit the monumentally fulfilling experience I'd hoped my first book by a Nigerian author would be. Through the experiences of Okonkwo a fierce self-made warrior, we experience the struggle of a man to hold onto all that he holds sacred in the face of annihilation by colonization. Okonkwo is epitome of the tragic hero with his fatal flaws and unwavering commitment to his own truth. While the story is fictional the historical accuracies of the setting allows the reader to glimpse at the customs, practices, diet and people as they live their last years in a pre-colonial Ibo society.
