Wonderful Land by The Shadows. One of their record 5 UK instrumental Number 1's. Written by Jerry Lordan and originally released by The Shadows in 1962, staying at No. 1 for 8 weeks. After Apache, which was also written by Lordan, this was probably The Shadows best known hit (although I think they should also have tried to get a catchy one word title for this).
This performance was broadcast 31 January 1970 and sees The Shadows using their 'other guitars'. Hank Marvin is most closely associated with his red and white Fender Stratocaster but here he and bassist John Rostill are seen with their black and white Baldwin-Burns Guitars. If you watch John, on the left, at the start of the clip it looks as if he wasn't expecting the backing track to start when it did. As far as I can tell Hank is playing live but its hard to tell at times as he can just play note perfect every time.
Rhythm guitarist Bruce Welch is missing as he had temporarily left the group. Other long time member Brian Bennett is on drums.
Completing the line-up is Alan Hawkshaw seated at the piano. Many won't realise he was in The Shadows for a while but may be familiar with his name and the music he composed for UK television shows such as the music from Countdown, the theme to Dave Allen's comedy shows and the library music that was used as the themes to both Grange Hill and Give Us A Clue.
John Rostill died in 1973 and Alan Hawkshaw in 2021.

Mister Serge Gainsbourg and many French actresses worked together quite a lot. Catherine Deneuve also collaborated with him, yet their work together did not really, well, work. Mind you, Mrs. Deneuve can sing, but I felt she did not gell with Gainsbourg. I have a theory his approach didn't fit her, but the strangest thing might be you don't feel like the problem here might lie in their working relationship. No, they actually sound like they wish to be doing something together, though he doesn't achieve the same effect he did with Birkin and Bardot. Still, the fact he covered an old song of his for a duet with Mrs. Deneuve unintentionally says something – Mr. Gainsbourg was close to his legacy mode by then despite him still doing a fine job elsewhere.

The Mohawks - The Champ
Album: A Gift From Pama
"The Champ" is a song by The Mohawks, a group of session musicians assembled by Alan Hawkshaw. It was originally released in 1968 but failed to chart. However, a re-release made #58 on the UK Singles Chart in 1987 after being sampled many times. The song is based on "Tramp", a 1967 Lowell Fulson record that was covered extensively after its release. The song chants the word "Tramp" rather than "Champ".

General songs that I think he'd like:
Izabella by Antônio Carlos Jobim
Samba Saravah - Pierre Barouh
If You Were Here Tonight - Alexander O'Neal
Rio - Duran Duran
Bossa per Alberto - Piero Piccioni
Señora Diana La - Eduardo Mateo
Out of Nowhere - Al Bowlly
Let's Face The Music And Dance - Roy Fox & His Band
La Vie en rose - Edith Piaf
Girl in a Sportscar - Alan Hawkshaw
Femme Fatale - The Velvet Underground
Some genres would be cocktail jazz, easy listening, new wave, r&b
Some songs with explanations:
Non, je ne regrette rien - Edith Piaf
I associate it especially with Nicolas and Love's relationship since when everything goes to shit (aka Anais finds out and leaves with the kids, Love can't cope with the fallout and goes back to Sweden) he doesn't really have any regrets because what he and Love had was probably the most important thing he's ever had, regardless of whether he lost it or not
Sulk - Radiohead
I associate this one with him because of the lyric "Just like your dad you'll never change". I sort of imagined it to be an insult Love would probably throw at him during an argument. Nicolas' coldness comes from Richard (his dad) but refuses to do anything to change that
Dogs - Pink Floyd
Not necessarily any meaning to this one other than I perfectly imagine it being a song he likes to unwind after work to with a glass of whisky

General songs that I think he'd like:
Sunday by Sonic Youth
Tour de France '03 V2 by Kraftwerk
Protest Song '68 by Refused
Misery Business by Paramore
Tornado by MSI
A Box Full Of Sharp Objects by The Used
Noise and Kisses by The Used
Root by Deftones
DINNER! by femtanyl
General Release by Mike Klubnika
Missed the bus! by Vertigoaway
Ginger Claps by Machine Girl
New Pin by Oceansize
Genres are mainly depressive black metal, digital hardcore, grunge, nu metal and rap metal
Some songs with explanations:
Temptation - New Order
Not about the lyrics this time, but more the melody. Gives me coming of age movie vibes. And I picture him and Love running through the streets of their hometown just being teenagers with some cheap vodka without a care in the world XD

Tumblr media
General songs that I think he'd like:
Teenager by Deftones
To Forgive by Smashing Pumpkins
Prove Yourself by Radiohead
You're Not The Only One I Know by The Sundays
Om jag dör i natt by Camouflage
Allt Är Sig Likt by Apati
Silk Hands Wrapped In A Masquerade by Calm
No More Like That by Eiafuawn
Star Roving by Slowdive
Regret by New Order
Untitled by The Cure
Waltzing Back by The Cranberries
Mayonaise by Smashing Pumpkins
Genres are slowcore, space rock, pop rock
Some songs with explanations:
The Boy - Smashing Pumpkins
'Every little part of me is a part of you I can't stop, I can't breathe, I can't think I'm in love again'
He loves way too much, to the point his whole personality and self can be consumed by just one person, and can almost be obsessive in a way
Married With Children - Oasis
Self explanatory if you're familiar with both Love and Nic's relationship XD ("yeah i dont have a wife and kids")

Now spinning Bob Stanley and Peter Wiggs present English Weather A compilation that represent the transition from psychedelia to prog as the 60s moved into the 70s. Most of it is not an easy listen, but it’s always interesting, melodic, melancholy, with jazz and folk touches. While America may have licked its wounds at the turn of the seventies by turning to singer-songwriters, purveyors of homilies like “teach your children well”, Britain wasn't so ready to give up the trappings of psychedelia. And while the UK counterculture may have shed its “faith in something bigger”, it wasn't about to chuck out the mellotron. This is how the day after the sixties felt: damp, fuzzy-headed, neither optimistic nor pessimistic but more than a little lost. British bands would mirror the ennui of the new decade with a new kind of music. It features 19 tracks from Caravan, John Cale, Camel, Matching Mole, Alan Parker and Alan Hawkshaw, Spring etc. Lavishly put together, with two of Peter Mitchell’s iconic photographs of 1970’s Leeds.
