Favorite Pokémon Trainer of Each Type Meme
When I went looking for some Pokémon Memes, I always find stuff like "Favorite Pokémon of Each Type", but never "Favorite Pokémon TRAINER of Each Type", so I decided to change one and turn it into that because trainers also deserves to shine
(And I think we all have a favorite Pokémon Trainer of a certain type, don't we ?)
Tumblr media
Normal : Larry Okuba
I can't really explain why but I like this guy. He is so formal yet so funny at the same time.
Shoothout to Aloé Lenora, because she is highly underrated and I almost put her in here.
Other trainers ranked :

Seeking Communion - May 1, 2023
The Lord calls His vessels, those that are even empty; He calls them to come and drink of His Spirit, to come to be filled fresh, strong.
His wind will blow away the staleness, the familiar, the comfortable, but it will blow in a NEW THING:
You will know it by His peace that will be in the midst of it. You will know it by the instructions of truth from His Word that will establish it. You will know it by the presence of His Spirit that will hover and instill it – write it on your hearts. You will know it by the quickening of His Spirit to your spirit.
You must choose to come. For He has given you the RIVER OF LIFE already: Will you drink from the cup of salvation?
Will you swim in the river of His glory? Will you bathe in the river of His cleansing stream?
Will you allow His water to overrule your thinking, and wash away unclean thoughts, negative thoughts, thoughts of anger, rage, disappointment, and fear? Will you allow His water to come and to take down all that would cause your thoughts to come against His PURPOSE for your life?
For He wants a pure and holy people – filled, spilling over, with the river of God abiding in a Kingdom Consciousness.
Come. Do not despise thirst, but come, for thirst is a calling card of His Spirit to come. Be not content to linger and wander in the desert of brokenness and disappointment, but set your face like flint, and come to the River. For He will part the Red Sea for you, too; for the Blood of Jesus has already won all that concerns you and your next Kingdom-advancing assignment, but you must come.

Light Bearers in All Belief Systems
All religions and Myths are the same, using different names for same symbols and different allegories for the same teachings
The teachings of Gnosticism, usually reveres Lucifer not as the devil, but as a savior, a guardian or instructing spirit or even the true god as opposed to Jehovah.
Léo Taxil (1854–1907) claimed that Freemasonry is associated with worshipping Lucifer. In what is known as the Taxil hoax, he alleged that leading Freemason Albert Pike had addressed "The 23 Supreme Confederated Councils of the world" (an invention of Taxil), instructing them that Lucifer was God, and was in opposition to the evil god Adonai.
Cultures around the globe assign the Morning Star a central role in Creation. Yet despite its prominence in ancient myth and ritual, the cosmogonical traditions surrounding the
star-god have remained virtually unexamined to date. In the following essay, we will investigate the sacred terminology associated with the Morning Star and argue that itsorigins and theoretical rationale are likely to be found in that star’s unique and cataclysmic recent history. It is notable that the Morning Star is known by similar names virtually everywhere. In numerous cultures the Morning Star was celebrated as the bringer of light. Such is the original meaning of the Latin epithet Lucifer, for example, applied to the Morning Star (Helel ben Shahar) by exegetes of the Old Testament. An early Greek name for the
Morning Star—Phosphoros—has the same meaning.
It is equally common to find the Morning Star described by an epithet denoting “Lord of
the Dawn.” To the Aztec skywatchers in pre-Columbian Mesoamerica, for example, the
Morning Star was known as Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli, Lord of the Dawn. For the Skidi Pawnee of the North American Plains, the Morning Star was conceptualized as being intimately associated with the dawn, the celestial domain of departed souls:
“The Morning Star stands upon the dawn. The dawn is represented as a bed of flint
stones, the souls of the dead. As the Morning Star walks, coming up, it makes a blaze of fire so that the red streaks of dawn are seen.” For Homer and Hesiod alike the Morning Star was conceptualized as masculine in natureand known as Heosphoros, “Dawn-bringer.”Thus Homer writes: “At that time when the dawn star passes across earth, harbinger of light, and after him dawn of the saffron mantle is scattered across the sea.”
Hesiod described the mythological genealogy of
Morning Star as follows: “And after these Erigeneia [Eos] bare the star Eosphorus (Dawn-Bringer), and the gleaming stars with which heaven is crowned.” Countless cultures referred to the Morning Star by a name that identified it as the “day bringer” or day-star. For the Polynesian astronomers who charted that culture’s countless long-distance voyages, the Morning Star was known as Fetia ao, “Star of Day.” So, too, among the Slavic peoples of ancient Europe, the Morning Star was known as Denica, “star of day.” Analogous names were commonplace among Amerindians of the New World. For the indigenous cultures along the Northwest coastal region of North America, recurringnames for the Morning Star include “Bringing the Daybreak,” “Bringing the Day,” “Star of Daylight,” and “Daylight has come.”In the Quiché Maya account of Creation, similarly, the Morning Star was described as the first star to appear in heaven: “This one came first before the sun when the sun was born, the new day bringer.”
All of the aforementioned names are commonly thought to have reference to the planet Venus in its familiar role as the Morning Star, during which it appears as the brightest star in the pre-dawn sky and, so the story goes, seems to announce the forthcoming “light of the Sun and day." Upon reflection, however, it seems most unlikely that any ancient skywatcher worth his salt would have chosen the relatively diminutive Venus to denote
the “day-bringer” or the “bringer of light.” Such names would appear to be much more
suitable for the Sun.
The light bearer is also known as Horus Duat, Athtar, Cinteotl, Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli, Itztlacoliuhqui, papa pachapacari ch’aska, Raven, Nanauatzin, Tecuciztecatl, Quetzalcoatl, Viejito, Nanahuatl, abogado de las bubas y del mal de los ojos y del romadico y tosse, u-pirikucu, Icoquih, is raxa, Venus, Mars, Christ, Tlahuizcalpanteuctl.
Every single faith has a light bearer just as every faith worships the same God whether it be the God of the Bible or Allah; as is also a Shiva and Shakti.
There is no other belief set that vilifies a day star except for Christianity. In fact you'll see worship of both the Daystar and the morning Star all at the same time, as they saw the importance of both. However the Bible demonizes A Day star and proceeds to call it Satan. as if it's not a star. It proceeds then further to say that the day star being Lucifer or satan waged a war against God, etc, instead of seeing or realizing that for it to even exist God still gave life to it. I just don't see why anything that is celestial or of any importance would ever wage a war against something much greater. We must remember both Lucifer and Christ called themselves The morning Star I'm not saying they're both the same character or the same morning Star because one eventually begins to become the Daystar however here in this must mean they both share importance for the spiritual teachings of mankind.

Hi suze I was curious after your most recent post...Do you have a favorite oc? Either from ct specifically or other works?
hi! i definitely have favourites and i worry that you can sometimes tell in my writing haha…and these are definitely not always the people with a lot of screen time like for instance i love giving michael some of the rawest lines i can come up with but i’m not conspiring and plotting ways to put him in scenes he’s not supposed to be in. michael and i stick to the plan!
the same cannot be said for david, who was initially not supposed to have a long-term role in the fic, but then i enjoyed writing him so much that we kept him around. or gillian, who got a death eater altercation & angst purely because i had fun writing her (SORRY). there are some forthcoming ones that i think are going to be similarly much fun. basically I obviously have a ton of attachment to and investment in characters like germaine, or like (ik they’re canon but considering all we have is a name) Mary/Doe, the OCs that really stand out to me are always the bit parts that come in for a specific purpose and then show-steal (to me if not to the audience lmaooo). and i love family lore like i have so much fun making up shit like albert fawcett fleamont’s enemy so funnily enough things like that stick in my mind
outside of CT, i know she’s also not an OC per se (again all we have is a name and a fate really) but i have a ton of fun with alice in wild things run fast, since i obviously don’t really get to spend a ton of time on my alice in CT. in tmwysl i had a lot of fun writing vero flint for reasons that are probably clear to people who’ve read it. and wait actually ik the mob will come for me otherwise — i do actually find richard bones fun to write too

Four Score and Seven Lightyears Ago: Historic Figures in Star Trek
By Ames
Tumblr media
Between escapades on the holodeck, visits to the past, and general sci-fi shenanigans, Star Trek has been able to present many historic figures to its crews, to varying effects. They’ve been doing it from the very beginning, though newer Trek series somehow haven’t seemed to have picked up on the game yet. Perhaps mentioning Elon Musk in an episode of Discovery soured them on the idea of bringing real people out into the universe: they’ll only find a way to let you down.
So what do the great minds of history have to offer to the weird and advanced worlds of the future? How frequently is the episode awkward, uncomfortable, or just plain annoying? Whose portrayal doesn’t stand up to the test of time? Check out all the ones we here at A Star to Steer Her By could think of below and listen to our chatter on this week’s podcast episode (discussion starts at 1:11:33). Watch out for falling apples!
Tumblr media
Jack the Ripper - “Wolf in the Fold”
We forgot to bring this one up on the podcast, but here we remembered to include the alien lifeform that inhabited people throughout history to harvest fear from its victims, at one point using the body of Jack the Ripper. This is absolutely nothing new. The list of Jack the Ripper appearances in modern media is longer than my arm and it’s so overdone that I just gloss over this episode entirely. Redjac is an alien now? Meh. Add it to the Ripper fanfic list.
Tumblr media
Wyatt, Morgan, and Virgil Earp and Doc Holliday - “Spectre of the Gun”
By season 3 The Original Series writers had a history book constantly open to look up a whole bunch of figures from the past, starting with an incredibly erroneous telling of the gunfight at the OK Corral. The whole ordeal is through the lens of an alien reading Kirk’s inaccurate memories, so perhaps any falsehoods are to be forgiven. Given the budget for season three, the sets were pretty much plywood, but the actors playing the Earps and Doc Holliday actually looked pretty good!
Tumblr media
Flint - “Requiem for Methuselah”
This one’s kind of a strange one, since the character Flint purportedly lived long enough to live out the lives of many famous figures, some actual and some fictional for some reason. The list he gives includes Methuselah, King Solomon, Alexander the Great, Lazarus, Merlin, Leonardo da Vinci, and Johannes Brahms. You’re a strange dude, Flint. I really don’t know what to make of this guy since it’s almost an interesting idea to have such a long-lived character, but once you start throwing wizards into the mix, I’m taken entirely out of it.
Tumblr media
Abraham Lincoln - “The Savage Curtain”
When Abe Lincoln appears floating in space, it’s laugh-out-loud funny. The Original Series could get away with campy hijinks the way no other Trek series can anymore, even including Lower Decks. The rest of “The Savage Curtain” is convoluted and pointless as hell (there’s a reason it’s on some of our Bottom Five lists from the whole series), but the parts featuring playing gladiator with Lincoln were a harmless enough romp.
Tumblr media
Genghis Khan - “The Savage Curtain”
Also featured alongside Lincoln was Genghis Khan, and let’s just say it was a good thing the character had absolutely no lines or it might have gotten cringey. His inclusion in the first place was borderline as it was, but it wasn’t a good episode in the first place, so what were we really hoping for out of season three of TOS? Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure did all of this better, I’ll leave it at that.
Tumblr media
Albert Einstein - “The Nth Degree”
Jump to TNG and a lot of our guest figures from the slate of history appear to us on the holodeck, which is probably a decent venue for them. Better than most, when you think about it, since our Starfleet friends are usually visiting them for a purpose that is substantive to the episode, and also everyone accepts that hologram depictions are going to be fairly superficial. So it goes that Barclay seeking out the program of Albert Einstein makes perfect sense in the episode. This isn’t the last we’ll see of the Einstein holo either, as we’ll see…
Tumblr media
Jack London - “Time’s Arrow”
Oh boy, this is one of my least favorite TNG episodes and it’s mostly down to our two guest figures being so caricaturey and plot convenient. The first we come across in our time travel adventure is the young valet Jack, who just seems like a miscreant throughout the two-parter and who rubs your SSHB hosts particularly the wrong way immediately. Then the very very buttony “Remember the name Jack London” happens and everyone watching rolls their eyes so hard that we all topple over from the sheer inanity of it. Ugh!
Tumblr media
Samuel Clemens - “Time’s Arrow”
In these two episodes, is Jack London better or worse than Sam Clemens? That may be a matter of how well you can stand the intense overacting and obnoxiousness of the portrayal. In my write up for season 6 of TNG, I screamed “What the hell is Mark Twain doing here” into the void for what felt like days because his character had no motivation for doing any of the things the writers needed him to do in order to stick around. And boy did he ever stick around! He stuck around so much while not contributing anything except someone to deliver exposition at, which could have been some fictional person! So what the hell was Mark Twain doing here!?!?
Tumblr media
Stephen Hawking - “Descent”
As we move through TNG episodes, we go from one of my least favorite portrayals to one of my favorites. The late Stephen Hawking remains the only actual person to play themself on Star Trek, and if that ever changes, I’ll feel disappointed because I can’t think of anyone else who is anywhere as deserving. The little joke that Hawking added himself is quite cute, and it just sounds like it was a delightful day to have Einstein, Newton (whom we’ll see again in a second), and Hawking playing poker on the holodeck with Data.
Tumblr media
Sigmund Freud - “Phantasms”
Having Data go to a recreation of Freud’s couch when he’s looking for someone to interpret his dreams is a bit of a goofy premise, but it seems in character enough. When holo-Freud starts spewing all the normal Oedipal psychosexual claptrap at him, it’s a bit humorous, if a bit on the nose, but we accept this one because Data’s innocence and naivete are such a good counterbalance. The scene plays a little on the obvious side, but what can you do? The cigar is a penis.
Tumblr media
Amelia Earhart - “The 37s”
If you’ve been following along with our watch through Voyager, you’ll know this one struck a rather bad chord with us. Earhart is the only female figure on this list, which is saying enough in and of itself, but for the whole of “The 37s” it felt like her name was getting dragged around through history. It’s not as bad as the Jack the Ripper fanfic parade, but it just strikes me as bad taste to use Earhart’s legacy for a pretty cheap alien abduction gag and to have her navigator Fred Noonan canonically be in love with her. Vom.
Tumblr media
Isaac Newton - “Death Wish”
Quinn claims that he’s the one that shook the apple tree that brought about Newton’s gravity epiphany. It’s another bit of an eye-rolling joke, made all the more groanworthy since it was already made clear in Newton’s appearance in “Descent” that the apple story was entirely apocryphal. Sigh. Other than that, Newton’s testimony is part of a very fascinating discussion of what will become of Quinn if he leaves the Q Continuum by killing himself, and who ever knows when the Qs are overembellishing stories for dramatic effect anyway (hint: it’s all the time)?
Tumblr media
Socrates, Lord Byron, and Gandhi - “Darkling”
We had pretty mixed feelings of the Doctor going all Mr. Hyde during “Darking” but it does stand to reason that he’d look to various historic figures for personality traits to give himself. Byron and Gandhi’s shallow conversation about men cavorting with women was on the silly side, but this is the holodeck after all, where all the people are pretty much one-note.
Tumblr media
The pièce de résistance of the holodeck scenes in this episode is when the characters are all glitching out randomly, Gandhi’s head is spinning, Byron is getting experimented upon, and Socrates is left a hollow hologram. Now that’s a new philosophy.
Tumblr media
Leonardo da Vinci - “Concerning Flight” et al
We come to the end of our list with one of the most established minds in history… mostly taking up space. The most his character really gets to do on his number of appearances is allow Janeway to talk exposition at someone other than Seven for a change, and then make a lot of jokes about how the hologram doesn’t understand the real world. I was frankly tired by it. Later on, Lower Decks makes some references to the da Vinci hologram, because of course it does.
Computer, end program! Did you spot any other historical figures from our Trek watch? Well, put them in cryo and send them our way because we’re moving on to more blogtivities next week. Keep watching this spot for more, keep up with our voyage through Voyager on SoundCloud or wherever you get your podcasts, say hi on Facebook and Twitter, and in the words of Honest Abe: be excellent to each other.

OUR GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE
"In the last days, "I will pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on My servants, (FLAMES OF FIRE) both men and women, I will pour out My Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. I will show wonders in the Heaven above and signs on the earth below..." (Acts 2:17-19
As we endure difficulties, challenges or trials, we consider them purpose driven fires, suitable for the Master Craftsman.  James 1:2-3 challenges us to, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance."
TESTED IN THE FIERY FURNACE
Many Christians today are being tested, stretched, and tried. It's as if our God, whose eyes are like blazing fire, is blowing His mighty wind from Heaven. He's fanning some smoldering wicks as He equips His servants to become FLAMES OF FIRE. We should not be surprised or amazed. The Apostle Paul writes that the believer's spiritual "foundation" would be tested by fire to reveal the endurance of their faith and love (I Corinthians 3:13-15).
"Everyone will be salted with fire" (Mark 9:49). Everyone! And, if a baptism of fire was necessary for Jesus, it will most certainly be necessary for His followers. The baptism of fire is difficult, indeed. We must not despise the hour of testing in light of the love Jesus poured out on the cross.
GOD TRANSFORMS TRAGEDY INTO TRIUMPH
As we move from glory to glory in our Christ calling, we are changed.  We need the refining fire -- since we know our God is a CONSUMING FIRE, the Spirit of God lives and dwells in us, and we want to do only what we see the Father do, should we not be a consuming fire also?
Fire is the image used throughout the Bible to describe the inner nature of God's heart.
Fire heals, cleanses, purifies. The fire Jesus brings is holy fire! Fire produces passion!  It's in the fire that all of our false heroes, all of our agendas die -- and that's the season we will see the Lord.
It's in the fire that the Son of God is manifest. Alleluia! We become more and more passionate for Him and advancing His Kingdom through our Christ calling because we realize we are one with Him as we linger in His presence.
Where is the God of Elijah? He's in us. Don't let the enemy lie and use water to put out the fire. We continue affirming, confessing, and meditating on our faith in the promises of God that are revealed in scripture.
WE MUST PERSEVERE
Once we have endured the fire and have received the passion, we must persevere. Jesus didn't quit at Gethsemane. He went all the way to crucifixion! Once we've sustained the fiery furnace we can't give up. We must set our heart like flint, ready to go all the way with God in carrying out His purpose for our life! It's in "Gethsemane" that we say, "Father, not my will but Thine be done."
When we lay hands on someone and pray for them, they don't need to experience doctrine, they need to experience the fire of God, the power of God!  The world is waiting for a consuming fire, one that burns up all that is not of God: living into self, idolatry, addictions, worldly agendas, and disease. This is a fire that will light up the world!
