Juliette traversait, tous les matins,

Les champs de blé et les jardins,

Afin d’éviter les ragots des voisins,

Même si l’air gardait son parfum.

Affichant un visage impassible,

Elle roulait le plus vite possible.

Son cœur, pourtant si sensible,

Cognait tel un tambour invisible.

Les paysans l’admiraient.

Dans sa petite robe d’été,

Elle leur faisait un joli effet.

Et ils connaissaient son secret.

Tout le monde disait en souriant:

« V’la la jolie fille à vélo

Qui va rejoindre impatiemment,

A l’orée de la forêt, Tonio.

Comme il a de la chance.

Elle va encore l’inonder de baisers.

Mon dieu, quelle inconscience

Car il ne va rien faire de la journée ! »

Tonio se levait avec le soleil

Pour labourer son champ.

Sa main éloignait une abeille

Quand elle l’appelait en freinant.

Pendant que son vélo tombait,

Juliette courait pour se jeter

Dans les bras de son amant

Qui n’en demandait jamais tant.

Puis, ils s’embrassaient goulument,

Avant de quitter son champ

Pour le plus proche grenier,

Et y passer la journée.

Le soir, heureuse, la belle Juliette

Remontait sur sa bicyclette.

Alors, les gens la voyaient rentrer

Avec, dans les cheveux, de la paille dorée.

Tout le monde disait en riant

Que la jolie fille à vélo

A encore passé un bon moment

Dans les bras de son Tonio.

I went to the 'end of season event' of my Kölner Haie (DEL)

I'm trying not to be too detailed but... oh boy, I had a fantastic day 🤩

One thing the fans could do was skate with some of the players, which I absolutely had to do. Little did I know that one of the guys on the ice would be Alexandre Grenier, which is my favourite player 🙈

Took me a good 5-10 rounds around the rink to get together what I wanted to tell him and gather all my courage to skate over and actually talk to him 😬

Thanked him for the kind words about my drawing and told him how much that meant to me. He was the first "star" to ever tell me what he thinks about my art. Grenier basically repeated how much he liked it, said that I have some pretty good drawing skills and even said "you should really do some of the other guys too, they would LOVE that!"

I turned beet red, answered his suggestion and then my brain blanked and I told him how much I admire his hockey skills and that I do play myself (I actually said "roller hockey" which I guess was the wrong words for inline skaterhockey but oh well, he knew how nervous I was talking to him 🙈) and already learned so much just watching him play. I wanted to just run away after that 😅

We took a picture and before letting me go, he said "let me give you a hug" with the broadest smile I ever saw someone having on their face while meeting (with) me 🥹

Let me tell you, he gives really great hugs and I didn't even know I really needed one today before he did that 🥰 I felt so special and I am so thankful that I had that opportunity today and was brave enough to actually skate over and speak with him 💖

Fiat Lux: Illuminating our Common Home from Minds Over Matter on Vimeo.

Obscura was chosen by the Vatican’s Pontifical Council to create a contemporary artistic interpretation of Pope Francis’ Encyclical, “Laudato Si.” The large-scale architectural projection show entitled: “Fiat Lux: Illuminating Our Common Home” was presented as a gift to Pope Francis to celebrate the opening of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy. It was the first time that art has ever been projected onto St. Peter’s Basilica.

“Laudato Si,” means “Praise be to you,” a phrase commonly used by Saint Francis, the patron saint of animals and ecology and Pope Francis’ namesake. In writing his impassioned plea for greater focus on the environment, Pope Francis cited areas of particular concern: pollution and climate change, the lack of clean water for much of the world’s population, and loss of biodiversity.

To bring the pope’s message to life, Obscura created an unprecedented 60-minute show featuring powerful images of humanity diversity and natural beauty from world-renowned photographers and curated by Travis Threlkel and Academy Award-winning filmmaker Louie Psyhoyos (The Cove). Using 21st century art and 50 high lumen projectors, the show was presented as a visual symphony in seven movements. A crowd of over 200,000 people gathered to watch the show live in the Piazza San Pietro, while 4 million watched via live stream video. Media coverage generated another billion global impressions.

Fiat Lux: Illuminating our Common Home featured the work of some of the world’s most noted humanistic and nature photographers and filmmakers including Sebastiao Salgado and Amazonas Images, Joel Sartore and his Photo Ark series, Yann Arthus Bertrand, David Doubilet, Ron Fricke, Howard Hall, Shawn Heinrichs, Greg Huglin, Chris Jordan, Mark Magidson, Steve McCurry, Louie Schwartzberg and Paul Nicklen. Funding provide by the Li Ka Shing Foundation and Vulcan Productions. Natural sound effects provided by Macaulay Library at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology

What if Dr. Jekyll didn't know he was turning into Mr. Hyde? Fight Club is essentially an exploration of that premise, turning Robert Louis Stevenson's sci-fi into psy-fi, a fiction based on a fantastical psychological premise. But Chuck Palahniuk's novel, and the adaptation of it by screenwriter Jim Uhls and director David Fincher, is more than that: It's also a satire on corporate commercialism and the grip it has on the soul -- particularly the male soul. The Narrator (Edward Norton) is a nebbishy corporate everyman, stuck in a job he hates, doing work that morally revolts him -- he calculates whether an auto manufacturer can get away with dangerously defective parts, whether a recall will be more expensive than paying off accident victims. He's insomniac, and finds that he can sleep only when he goes to support groups for people worse off than he is, sufferers from serious illnesses. At one session he meets Marla Singer (Helena Bonham Carter), beautiful and frazzled, who also goes to these support groups because she wants to feel something that she can't find in her own routine life. Then on a business trip, during which the venality of his job becomes particularly clear to him, he meets a devil-may-care type named Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt), handsome, clever, and completely amoral. Returning from the trip he arrives to find that his apartment, the only thing he feels some pride in, has been blown up in what seems to be an accidental explosion. He has no place to go, so when he finds Durden's card, he moves in with him in a dreadful rundown old house on the edge of nowhere, and becomes drawn into Durden's life, including the formation of the titular club, in which men of various professions gather to beat one another silly. It's the ultimate catharsis for meaningless corporate drudgery. He also introduces Durden to Marla, and lies in his bed listening to the two of them having raucously noisy sex. Eventually, the sex and violence escalate, and when they reach the pinnacle of rebelliousness against establishment values, the Narrator has a revelation: He's Tyler Durden. Fincher beautifully finesses any literal-minded explanations, relying instead on Norton's ordinariness and Pitt's good looks, as well as some careful staging and cutting, to keep from turning this into a tale about dissociative identity disorder. Instead, it's a fable about the ordinary male's repressed desire to become a Brad Pitt, or as Durden puts it, "All the ways you wish you could be, that's me. I look like you wanna look, I fuck like you wanna fuck, I am smart, capable, and most importantly, I am free in all the ways that you are not." The first viewers of Fight Club were often distracted by the violence and failed to respond to the ideas the film is working with. Since then, it has grown in esteem, perhaps because its violence has become more routine in movies, but also because its apocalyptic ending irrupted into real life on Sept. 11, 2001. The film's power to provoke, to appall, and to stimulate argument makes it some kind of minor classic.

A Ambert, le 3 juillet 2022

   Suite du challenge Cyclo Tour Rotor avec la Cyclo les Copains d’Ambert où contrairement à l’an dernier nous allons retrouver des conditions météo très favorables avec un beau soleil et des températures déjà clémentes le matin qui monteront d’un cran au cours de la journée. Cette Cyclo d’importance se déroule sur 1, 2 ou 3 jours avec les parcours chrono le dimanche où une bonne partie se fera dans les monts du Forez.

         Pas trop loin, un départ le matin même est possible et je suis même plutôt en avance sur place. Sur la liste des inscrits j’ai pu voir que les habitués des lieux seront présents comme Béranger Brossel, Maxence Janodet ou Rémi Saillard. J’aperçois Jean-Luc Chavanon, Rémi Méjean ou Tristan Admiral et aussi Clément Cambier et Alexandre Périer. Le coup de canon résonne à 8h, c’est parti !

        Bien placé je garde ma position sans soucis jusqu’à un premier coup sérieux à l’initiative de Clément et Martial Pottier : on se retrouve 4 ou 5 et revenons vite sur Rémi S. qui était sorti en solo mais notre avance est faible et tout se regroupe avant la 1ere bosse : la côte de Grenier. Ça montre plus fort que l’an dernier sur un bon tempo et on enquille la descente que j’entame en 2eme position. Là encore ça défile sans souci jusqu’à Arlanc où la moto ouvreuse va nous faire prendre une mauvaise direction ! Demi-tour avec un peloton encore conséquent, 4’ de perdues et pendant ce temps beaucoup de coureurs sont passés pour attaquer la 2nde difficulté ; la côte de Montravel.

On se remet en ordre de marche bien décidé à attaquer fort, notamment Clément qui m’annonce la couleur juste avant ! Avec des passages à PMA, la moto ne va pas suffisamment vite pour nous dégager le passage et tout explose. Au bout d’un moment, je me retourne et ne vois plus personne directement dans ma roue, je cède quelques mètres puis on va former un petit groupe de 7-8 en reprenant les 2 derniers hommes ouvrant la route avant le sommet. Je participe ensuite à prendre quelques relais jusqu’à St-Martin-les-Olmes où le raidard du village fais toujours aussi mal puis nous descendons jusqu’à la nouvelle difficulté : la côte de la Rodarie/Bunangues.

      Clément fait le pied, Alex y va aussi mais c’est moi qui fais l’essentiel sur un petit tempo qui permet de garder notre groupe d’une dizaine tout en maintenant l’écart avec les poursuivants. Après le sommet je tente d’accélérer sur le faux plat descendant mais tout le monde raccroche les wagons avant que Thibault Aoust et Pierre Almeida ne s’échappent dans la descente de Valcivières. A Job nous sommes 8 à leur poursuite et je décide de suite d’imprimer un gros tempo ; j’accélère souvent mais les jambes ne sont pas extra tout comme ma condition générale d’ailleurs. On reprend toutefois les fuyards et Alex décide de durcir encore plus l’allure à 3 kms du sommet ; dans le rouge je souffre terriblement et suis à 2 doigts de sauter plusieurs fois. Par chance ça se calme pour le dernier km et nous voilà plus que 7 : Clément, Alex, Maxence, Pierre, Nicolas Chadefaux, Aurélien Gay et moi. Je laisse faire la descente et chope les inévitables crampes. Pas au mieux pour remonter sur St-Pierre-la-Bourlhone, je vois les 6 autres tourner à droite pour le col du Béal et le grand parcours, je prends à gauche presque sans hésitation, comme l’an dernier pour les 133 km des Copains Light !

Il me reste à bien gérer la descente et finir le travail dans la côte de Bertignat : rattrapant des coureurs des autres parcours je tente de me caler sur un bon tempo entre 280-300W qui devrait me permettre de conserver mon avantage. Un concurrent me challenge et me suis un moment ce qui me motive à tenir ce rythme avant de ne plus pouvoir me suivre et me laisser continuer seul. Le final est plus roulant et la puissance baisse un peu mais le sommet et là ; il ne reste plus que 11 kms faiblement descendant où les crampes se rappellent à mon souvenir ! J’en fini tant bien que mal avec une nouvelle victoire comme l’an dernier. Quelques minutes plus tard c’est un trio qui se présentera pour la gagne du 156km : Nicolas l’emportant devant Clément et Alex, les 3 s’étant isolés dans le Béal.

      Au niveau comptable l’affaire est bonne avec le maximum de points au challenge, les 2 parcours des Copains ayant la même cotation. Aux niveaux sensations, en revanche, c’est moins ça même si ça allait mieux que dimanche dernier. Cela dit j’ai fait beaucoup d’efforts et plus couru dans l’optique du 133 que du 156 finalement. Après coup, c’était le bon choix du jour : en étant plus attentiste j’aurai certainement pu accompagner les meilleurs mais ne les aurait pas battu ; pour preuve ils étaient encore 6 avec moi dans le Chansert malgré un gros effort et quelques attaques. Place maintenant à un peu de récup avec un prochain week-end sans course pour tenter de retrouver de meilleures dispositions !
