Made the move over to Bluesky, and I have been LOVING it there so far. They come equipped with easy moderations to make your social media experience more pleasant, including options that allow you to mass block MAGA so they cannot so much as breathe in your direction. I can search tagged posts without wading through ten pornbots before I actually find the topic I was ACTUALLY looking for. And in the week that I have been there so far, I have not seen so much as ONE ad. There's no algorithims, and it runs quickly and actually loads photos and gifs. It's also gaining more of a user base lately too, so anyone else who is sick of all crap mentioned above and wants other social media options should check it out.

How come people hate chatgpt so much ? /gen

Hi sorry I have no idea how old this ask is I never check my inbox & this is possibly the first nonspam anon I've gotten in at least a couple years?

In any case I think most people are worried abt how chatgpt can be so easily used to exploit. We already have an illiteracy problem in the world & that's only going to be exacerbated if no one has to write anything themselves anymore. People are also not necessarily even looking over what the AI wrote before submitting or posting it somewhere as their own work, which leads to increased misinformation and poorer quality writing.

I understand how chatgpt is helpful to people who arent super comfortable with their writing/language skills. But from what Ive seen the help it is actually capable of providing, does not measure up to the dangers of trusting AI to think for you & decide/represent your views. Basically it seems really easy to dangerously misuse.

I am also personally worried as an aspiring writer about how frequently human writers are already being replaced by AI because its so vastly cheaper. Writing is a craft, and it can't really be algorithimed, and the less actual human writers we have the worse the overall media we absorb is going to get. And if I've learned one thing about people in general as an adult, it's that media -- seeing life through a different HUMAN perspective -- is often the best way to develop genuine empathy for people and cultures you aren't familiar with.

This is all just my opinion tho I will say I also don't trust ai-made "content" of any sort in general. I'm aware that might just be me becoming a fuddyduddy bc I don't understand the Newfangled Technamology. But I also don't post pictures of myself online anymore bc I don't want to be deepfaked into porn? & it just strikes me as a horrifying path for technology to be following. How to Reset "Autosteer Unavailable for the Rest of This Drive" Warning in Your Tesla?

Tesla, Tesla, Tesla, it’s everywhere… A masterpiece designed to challenge the legacy of fossil-fuel-dependent vehicles and provide an enhanced driving experience with advanced driver assistance features, like the ones seen in sci-fi movies. Today’s blog post sheds light on Tesla Autopilot’s Autosteer feature and discusses the reasons why the ‘Autosteer Unavailable for the Rest of This Drive’ warning might get triggered.

Understanding Why This Warning May Appear

As per a probe conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)… misuse/over-reliance on Tesla’s Autosteer feature has resulted in at least 15 crashes. Clearly, Tesla’s Autopilot program is not perfect. It is more of a supplement to your driving, rather than a complete replacement.

That’s why the vehicle continuously reminds you to have your hands on the steering wheel and be prepared to take over at any time… when Autopilot is engaged. If you continue driving despite repeated appearance of such audio-visual warnings, ‘Autopilot’ feature will be disabled, and the “Autosteer Unavailable for the Rest of This Drive. Hold Steering Wheel to Drive Manually.” message will be displayed.

Some of the other explanations as to why this message might appear on the dash of your Tesla are discussed below.

Understand Why This Warning May Appear

#1- Debris blocking your car’s cameras or sensors

To keep track of vehicles and road signs around you… your Tesla’s Autopilot system relies on cameras, radar, and ultrasonic sensors. These components won’t be able to do the job they are entrusted with if dirt, snow, or rain covers them. Since the system doesn’t have a clear enough view to operate smoothly… it will temporarily go offline, and the ‘Autosteer Unavailable’ warning will be triggered.

#2- An underlying hardware issue

There have been instances where a malfunction in the hardware components supporting the Autopilot’s operation has triggered the ‘Autosteer Unavailable for the Rest of This Drive’ message on Tesla’s dashboard. To be able to assist you, your Tesla’s Autopilot relies on an array of components… including internal computers. If there is a fault in one of these critical systems, Autosteer Unavailable warning will be triggered.

#3- Tesla's software, requiring a restart or update

Tesla doesn’t manufacture vehicles... it manufactures computers on wheels that rely on software to function. The problem with software-operated systems is that they may occasionally experience glitches and bugs. Your Tesla Autopilot’s functioning will be hindered if bugs get introduced into the algorithim it is operating on. As a result, the ‘Autosteer Unavailable’ warning will get triggered.

#4- Bad road conditions

Autopilot works by analyzing marks on the road. If the road you are driving your Tesla on is clearly marked and in good condition, there should not be any problems for the Autosteer feature to function. However, if the road has too many potholes, poorly painted lane markings, and sharp curves… the system will have a hard time doing its intended function. Your car will have no choice but to temporarily display ‘Autosteer’ function.

How to Reset the Warning

Step #1- If your Tesla is displaying ‘Autosteer Unavailable’ warning, the very first thing that you should do is to safely pull over to the side of the road.

Step #2- Put your car in Park mode and turn it off. This will reset the system.

Step #3- Turn the car back on and resume driving. It should clear the warning.

If The Issue Persists…

#1- Tesla releases over-the-air software updates from time to time. Check for available updates and install them to clear any temporary glitches and bugs hindering Autosteer’s functionality.

#2- Check if any dirt or debris is obstructing the sensors, radar, and cameras that aid the Autopilot feature in performing its intended functions.

#4- If the message stays on despite your repeated attempts to get rid of it… contact Tesla support or take your vehicle to the nearest Tesla service center.

Concluding Remark

‘Autosteer Unavailable for the Rest of This Drive. Hold Steering Wheel to Drive Manually.’ message usually appears on Tesla models due to overuse or inconsistent use of Tesla’s Autopilot feature. Poor visibility due to bad weather conditions, issues with the system’s hardware or software, and obstructed cameras could also trigger the ‘Autosteer Unavailable’ warning.

Research: Māori Robotics Blog

I came across this really interesting blog on Māori and Robotics by Dr Karaitiana Taiuru, a Māori AI, data and merging tech ethicist.

I messaged Dr Taiuru on LinkedIn and now have a connection with hi. I'll my storyline/idea by him when it's a bit more solid to check it's sound.

"Not if I can help it. Tell your ship to polarize the hull plating if they don't have a force-field, I'm gonna try something."

He made for the first exit hatch he could find, re-sealing it on his way out. Blue Two could see him rocketing towards the last known coordinates of the Fiveship. It was time for some fancy flying. The cosmic contender accelerated, flying around the starship while firing beams from his hands and his eyes, effectively 'scrubbing' the planetary anti-body creatures in wide disintegration swathes. Although he tried to control his energy rays to prevent damage to Fivemind's starship, Rex had advised on polarizing the hull plates for added protection-- just to be on the safe side.

"Hey! You okay in there?!"

In between fending off the antibodies, checking on the consoles, and calibrating what she could, the android in blue was busy.

"That is what I am already doing," Blue Two replied, checking in on the consoles around her while prodding away some wayward antibodies. The swarm of antibodies was thinning out here but the same cannot be said for the area around the Fiveship. The AI was really multitasking here.

In a way, the AI had no choice but to place an uncharacteristic degree of choice upon someone they had just met. Somehow...that was not as hard as they would have thought it would be.

"We- the rest of my crew may not be able to hold on for long. Our ship will be taking off soon."

I am one of the few who decide to check the "for you" on tumblr. (Please direct all statements & comments to asks, not reblogs)

Recently, the algorithim has learned that have an intrest in cooking, and presumably used cookies & other trackers to determine my general heritage.

It's weird to see how accurate it is. I feel like we're all forgetting that feeling of dissonence when we everything is "for you". I want to feel disconnect, I want to see forgien, unfamilar things. Part of the reason I fully migrated on to tumblr is that there is just more "space" and possibilty to see something novel (at least, new to me)

And I used to get that from the "for you" page, as I tried rather hard to keep my data private. I guess that's over now.

I guess that's just the way social media is.

Despite growing up with a constant internet connection, I've always shyed away from social media with my name on it. It felt too close, almost claustrophobic to be surround by familar people.*

I guess I'll just start lurking more, start following more random people, and try to claw back my unfamilarity.

*side note, I'm not actually anti-social. I keep a discord to schedule friend meet ups, and instagram for people to message me. Just never used either to chat on, or share memes, etc.

Thanks for the ask, Liv! This is my attempt at a one-shot, and practicing with scaling back the dialogue and trying to write a faster-paced story, bc if you’ve ever read my other story (Liv I know you have lol) then you know I tend to be incredibly wordy and very dialogue heavy. So far it’s been somewhat successful. I’ve been actively working on this one while trying to clear the brain fog around Good Investments, and I’m really enjoying where it’s going so far.

It veers somewhat away from the original TFATWS story but only in small ways.

Anyway, enjoy this snippet!

As they pull away from the Bartons’, Sam feels conflicted. While he enjoyed catching up with Clint and meeting his family, he feels like he also had to face some hard truths about what it really means to do the hero thing full-time. The cost is high, in a lot of ways. Not just the physical and mental tolls it takes on your body, but what it does to those closest to you. Sam got a taste of that when Karli had threatened Sarah and the boys, and the thought of how that could’ve easily gone south still wakes him up in the middle of the night. And now he’s looking for a relationship, which brings another person into the mix. 

So what is he supposed to do? His choices are either to spend the rest of his life alone or the rest of his life in constant fear for his family. Are these really his options?

He’s so deep in his own head that he doesn’t notice Bucky staring at him, at first. It’s not until he feels the gentle weight of a metal hand resting lightly on his forearm that he shakes himself out of it. 

“Hey,” Bucky says softly. “You okay over there? You’re unusually quiet.” He’s smirking but Sam can see the worry in his bright blue eyes. 

“Naw I’m good,” he lies. “Just a little tired from the weekend.”

Bucky nods and drops it, reaching over to fiddle with the radio. Sam takes the opportunity to watch him out of the corner of his eye. Bucky’s hair is loose, but swept back from his face so it’s resting in waves on his shoulders, and he’s wearing a maroon sweater that Sam suspects might be his, but he’s not quite sure. Right now he’s got his tongue between his teeth, as he focuses on listening to each station for a few seconds before frowning and turning the dial to the next one. He finally settles on something, some oldies station (naturally) that’s already starting to fuzz in the background; they’ll probably lose it within the hour. 

“Hey,” he says again. “Do you mind if we swing through Queens on our way back?”

Sam throws a confused glance his way; there’s no “swinging through” anyplace in New York City. Everything is two hours out of the way easily. “What for?”

“The kid’s there, Parker. I feel like we should check in on him, make sure he’s okay.” 

Sam is a little taken aback by the request. Bucky’s never once mentioned Peter and he wonders what prompted the idea of visiting him. But if Bucky is looking to reach out to other people, who is Sam to stop him? And honestly, it’s probably a good idea. From the sounds of it, Parker really stepped into some shit recently and his face has been splattered all over the news, some headlines good and others…not so much.

“Uh, sure, that’s fine. I think our docket is still pretty clear for the next couple of days so we can make a stop. Can I ask why the sudden interest, though?”

Bucky lifts his vibranium shoulder in a shrug, looks out the window. “I guess…I guess I just know what it’s like when everyone thinks you're the villain.” He turns back to Sam but his face is unreadable.

They spend a day in Queens, hanging out with Peter. They sit at his scuffed kitchen table, eating oatmeal cookies fresh out of the oven, and listen as he tells them about the whole shitshow with Mysterio, how he was framed and that the FBI has been sniffing around his door now wanting answers. Basically, everyone knows who Spider-Man is now, and everyone wants a piece. 

Sam’s heart aches for the kid. He knows that feeling of losing someone so important to you, someone who’s practically your North Star. He glances over at Bucky who gives a nod, a silent understanding between the two of them. They can’t leave Peter adrift like this; he’s just a fucking kid. 

Before they leave, Bucky hands Peter a scrap of paper with his cell number written down.

“You call us, kid, if you ever need anything. I’ll have Sam fly our asses up here, pronto.”

Peter gives a watery smile and stares at the paper like a lifeline. “Th-thanks Sergeant Barnes. That means a lot.”

Sam claps him on the shoulder, gives it a little squeeze. “Don’t let it swallow you up, man; the hero thing. You’re still young, don’t forget to be a teenager.”

The kid nods. “I uh…I gotta girlfriend now. MJ.”

Sam glances at Bucky over Peter’s head; Bucky’s looking at him intently, like he’s got something on his mind but Sam isn’t sure what it is. He turns away, back to Peter.

“That’s real great, Pete.”

Yu-Mi’s Cells Episode 4 Recap: Dates, First Kiss and Meeting Lustasaurus

Episode 4 of Yumi’s Cells begins with Gu-Woong arriving with his umbrella. Then the lights are back on in Cell Land and brought in the sweets too (There's other sweet things that adds to Cell Land and not literally), bringing Yu-Mi to look at Gu-Woong in a much more positive light. He was curious about why she didn't reply, so he showed up to check on her. Woong finds out about her broken phone and ended up with a sigh of relief realizing she wasn't ignoring him at all. He shouldn't jump into conclusions so quickly! He looked so happy and told her he thought he got dumped, which led Yu-Mi smiling. In Cell Land, it's the first time in years since it snowed. Woong's Cell showed up on Yu-Mi's Cell land as his Gatekeeper.

In Cell Land, one of Gu-Woong’s Cells shows up to check out the village. However, the cells there refuse to allow it and punch him away. There’s more pressing concerns though and as Yu-Mi passes out while waiting at the bus stop and runs a fever. Woong checks up on her. In Woong's Cell Land a alarm bells as a emergency, the cells activate the sprint mode and let Woong carry her to the nearest hospital. The Cells announced the mission as cleared and Woong ends up acting conceited. While she's still asleep, Woong received a call from Louis who is curious where he is and he mentioned that he's in the hospital with Yu-Mi. Louis is worried how he went to the hospital, Woong said that he carried her and said that Yu-Mi's light. Sae-Yi tells him it's the wrong idea while Woong doesn't approve because this is what his algorithim tells him to do then hungs up.

Woong then even buys her new clothes with a frog on the front. Yu-Mi eventually wakes up realizing that she's in the hospital and sees what Woong has done for her. Yu-Mi checks out the clothes Woong bought for her and its a one-piece. Then a frog show up in Yu-Mi’s Cell Land and helps save all the different cells, cleaning up the village that has been contaminated with stress and making sure Hysterius won't come back by putting up a fence. The Frog even saved Love and True Feelings too who were stranded in the deserted island. The cells were thankful and the frog went in because of Yu-Mi's heart. Only, it turns out the frog is just an outfit for Woong’s love cell. What a sneak! What a metaphor too. Woong sneaked into Yu-Mi's heart without her realizing it. Woong came back to the hospital to check on her. She even told him that she likes the clothes he picked and that it reminded of the festival. Yu-Mi in return as being grateful invited him for a second date! Woong is worried about the restaurants closing asking about the time and Yu-Mi ended up using the same time joke! Haha. Yu-Mi started using his jokes adding that she's a "gentleman".

The pair have a wonderful date and Yu-Mi thanked him for everything. Yu-Mi even told him to send her a text though Woong tells her it takes a while to get home and reminded her of her phone. Yu-Mi tells him that she has a laptop so they can contact each other through that. After that moment, The Dream Theatre came to a close. Then the Bulletin Board Cell shows up late at night to help clear up Yu-Mi’s cluttered mind as a way to sort one’s mind out at the end of the day, especially her daily life. The comments that Yu-Mi should remember are the ones that are moved up, especially when it comes to Woong. I really love this idea of Cell Land's Bulletin Board it's like our own board with post-it notes for reminders. After this, Woong and Yu-Mi started chatting. Woong asked her if he can call her tomorrow and bids her goodnight for real. Woong and Yu-Mi ended up smiling, especially Yu-Mi who seems to be in lalaland. The top reminder of the Bulletin Board is the 2nd date for tomorrow as a reminder by Love Cell. With Woong's Bulletin Board all he thinks about is Yu-Mi and the Cell is annoyed because he wanted to sleep, hihi.

Woong heads back to check on Sae-Yi, who happens to be tipsy checking out Yu-Mi's social media saying to herself that she's his type. Sae-Yi starts talking about their old times and the Cells know that she usually has a ulterior motive whenever she does. While she was acting way off than usual, Woong's Cell Land detected the danger ended up activating his defense mode, which then is interpreted as a bear. As a bear he cant pick up clues or hints, making him look dumb. The defense mode switched off and Woong clearlyh knows that Sae-Yi likes him. Sae-Yi went on her second attack as she wanted to sit beside him, but they ended up switching seats. A third attack came in and it's about her crush. Thankfully Louis awakens just in time, saving them from awkwardness. Her physical touch attack begins and the Cells are troubled. Good thing the taxi arrived. The mission is officially cleared and the bear ears are gone. Sae-Yi has her own bulletin board, she wants Woong to be her husband if ever she gets married. You wish.

Saturday rolls in and Fashion Cell wakes up Cell Land, desperate to try and wake Yu-Mi up so they can go shopping even to the point on praying to the Shopping Spree Deity, who in turn encourages Fashion to sing. This works to wake up Yu-Mi, who goes shopping.

Lust Cell makes an entrance and tells Yu-Mi to to unbutton her dress by a few buttons. Well, Yu-Mi ends up spilling down her dress, ruining everything. I had a feeling. Woong sees her and is worried then invites her to his house.

With Lust Cell being kept under control (just about) by the other Cells, Lust Cell ended up being freed which made Yu-Mi imagine Woong in the shower. This is just too awkward, hard to watch and yet sexy. Hahaha. The actor has a good body i give him that. Yu-Mi ended up snapping, Lust Cell mentions how big his well thing is. I cracked up so loud at this part! I cannot. Woong's Cell Land under attack by Lustasaurus who stomps around the ground breathing fire. Another metaphor after seeing her wearing his clothes. Lust Cell is also trying to calm down Lustasaurus who Woong at the same time trying to calm himself down.

Yu-Mi tries to stop Woong from using fabric softener as a accident may happen then the two look at each other longingly. Unfortunately, Woong’s phone rings, which stopped their moment. It’s a work emergency and he has to go.  Their date is over and Woong promises to message her.

He gets the taxi home. Yu-Mi decides to get the bus. Woong  heads over and returns her dress back. There's a moment when he realizes that Yu-Mi wants to kiss him. Woong then holds her hand to pull her close, holding the crook of her back then finally ends up kissing her in a passionate way! Holy crap what directing to that kiss buildup.

Woong so far is a gentleman and romantic too. Who wouldn't fall for him too?
