Iruma Ficlet: Meme

The Netherworld has an Internet, websites, social media, etc.

Eventually, as high schools do, Bablys becomes riddled with the equivalent of the worm meme:

He finally interrupts. And doesn’t look at Iruma. “I’d keep you safe,” he says. “I’d fight my hardest to keep you safe. Of course. You are my students.”

Balam-sensei gets teased by the class and his coworkers for how soft he is for the rest of the week. The next time they have tea, Iruma doesn’t even give a cursory squirm about the hug, and just squeezes back tighter.

I want more religious Alicent Hightower in s2. I want to see pious, bitter Alicent that can only turn to the Faith of the Seven to find comfort. I want to see her guilt. I want her ugly grief. I want to see her mourning all that she’s sacrificed.

I want her to find herself outside of her role as mother, daughter and queen. I want her to remember the friend she used to be. I want her to light a candle for the little girl she used to be.

I want her to fully realise the gravity of her loss.

Maybe some Alicent fans don't agree with my opinion, I don't know. But I see where Alicent's idea of ​​freedom would come from when entering into a sexual relationship with Criston Cole. What would be more freeing for her than doing exactly what she hated Rhaenyra for daring to do? Rhaenyra who enjoyed her own freedom and privilege that she was denied.

Alicent envied this freedom that Rhaenyra dared to have for almost her entire life. I don't think her attitude comes from hypocrisy, unlike Criston in this situation. It comes from the exhausting desire to have what Rhaenyra had. saw someone being wrong about kon on the internet again (i know. shocking) and you are all so lucky i'm sick and feverish and lazy because i DID just seriously entertain the thought of writing up a small essay complete with issue and panel citations about why it's simply incorrect to say that kon never really seemed to reciprocate any sort of crush on tim before geoff/tt03. this is just not true. you dont have to actually ship them but to downplay their importance to each other even in the earliest days is simply incorrect. i'm too tired and achy to bother digging through comics to pull up all the issues that have the bits i want to point at but like... they were both very mutually important to each other from early on. it was in no way shape or form one-sided, whether you want to read that as platonic or romantic. man.
