The devastation to our toh (water) and yintah (land) is immeasurable. This is toh we drink. This is where the salmon start their lives. This is our sacred headwaters that feed EVERYONE downstream all the way to the west coast.
We knew this would happen. CGL tries to blame the climate crisis and being surprised/unprepared but the fact is they knew what they were getting into and simply don’t care.
CGL has a stop work order (ref: 20230027_OR001) from the EAO in the Gosnell Creek section EXCEPT for the work to cross Gosnell Creek!
This has to stop. These are the people within colonial government that can do something about it and are choosing not to. They clearly won’t listen to us so maybe they will listen to you. Be loud. Be persistent. We all live downstream.
Honourable George Heyman
Minister of Environment and Climate Change Strategy

This illustration was made to print patches and tshirts for fundraising in the winter of 2014-2015. Glad it still is a visual aid to the tons of support Wet’suwet’en land defenders have been getting in the past year. Download and print locally!

From All out in support of Wet’suwet’en
[ ID: Three graphics by Emily Theissen, from the linked article, the text of which read:
Make a Phone Call to Support Wet’suwet’en

Bruce Ralston (Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources) (250) 953-0900
Your local MLA
What You Can Say
Text from Leadnow:
I’m calling to ask that your government uphold your commitment to the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous People (UNDRIP) and respect Wet’suwet’en Law by withdrawing the RCMP from Wet’suwet’en Nation and cancelling Coastal GasLink’s permits.
I was horrified when heavily-armed RCMP officers forcibly removed Wet’suwet’en  people from their own territory last year, and want to make sure your government doen’t let this happen today
All five Clans of Wet’suwet’en  have rejected all pipelines. Coastal Gas Link’s proposed pipeline does not have free, prior, and informed consent from the Wet’suwet’en. Coastal GasLink and the RCMP are trespassing on sovereign Wet’suwet’en land.
You can also say:
It is unethical to expand fossil fuel infrastructure in a climate emergency.
If you do not order a halt to/make a statement against the RCMP’s actions you/your party will lose my vote in the next election.

My cousins are on the front lines right now & it kills me that I’m a whole country away & cant help them in person. But I can do my best to raise awareness & money for them.
HERE is a link to the camp’s supply list HERE is a link to legal fund support HERE is a link to the general fund support
Gidimten_checkpoint, Skodenne, Voicesfrontlines are all bringing us updates as quickly as they can.
The RCMP are raiding the camps. Arrests have been made from these illegal raids on unceded territories.
To my followers who are fighting for the Southern Residents, this will affect them too. They are our family & we are fighting for their survival just as we continue to fight for the land & our sovereignty.
Please, if you can help at all- or at least spread the word.
The world is watching.

Some of y’all are about to get really annoyed with me but I need to y’all to hear this and I need to hear y’all making more noise about the colonial violence happening in so called Canada right now,
specifically whats happening in Wet'suwet'en.
I need the folks who had all the energy to be upset about environmental injustice and environmental movements, and causes, to be on this and talk about it now.
The Canadian government is infringing on the rights of indigenous peoples and forcibly removing them off their lands, prioritizing profit from a natural gas pipeline over people and the planet.
Mainstream media isn’t covering it, here’s what’s happening and you should give a fuck.
There are brave YOUTH/ 2S YOUTH leading these blockades and these peaceful protests and y’all are sleeping on the amount of violence happening from the RCMP across Canada right now.
I have not seen much posts in support for indigenous rights movements here on tumblr.
Extraction from the land is extraction on indigenous bodies
Harm to the land is harm to indigenous sovereignty.
What happens to the land due to the pipelines won’t just affect indigenous people, it’ll come back to everyone else as well.
Reconciliation is dead.

Taken from the Facebook page for Gidimt'en Checkpoint, October 10, 2021:
Today, the RCMP came to Coyote Camp and emptied our water cisterns threatening to arrest anyone who tried to stop them. They then ravaged through people's tents and slashed the tires of vehicles belonging to Cas Yikh members and supporters staying at the camp.
There were six members of CIRG (Community-Industry Response Group) at the camp until 2:30pm and several ERT (Emergency Response Team) in the bushes since early in the morning.
This is why we need solidarity. This is why your taking action matters. This must stop!! Today is the first day of the call out for a week of Solidarity Action. Please take action now and support all of us on the ground and the frontlines!

You can faintly hear the voices of over 1000 land defenders chanting outside while this speech is being read. Politicians patting themselves on the back for "reconciliation" after 6 days of Indigenous youth camping directly outside of this building in response to the Wet'suwet'en being ripped from their homelands at gun point.... these people should be embarrassed.

#ShutDownCanada actions continue today in an ongoing and furious response to the RCMP raids on Wet'suwet'en territories, February 11, 2020.
Ports being shut down in some areas, bridges and streets and trains blocked. Youth and others still chaining themselves to legislatures and sitting in at offices. The people have blocked all entrances to the British Columbia legislature, which had to cancel its first session today. Here are photos of solidarity efforts in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where people are shutting down a train line and a shipyard at the port.
"When Unist’ot’en needs support,  Block the trains and block the ports!”
No to Alton Gas and No to Coastal Gaslink!

I'm not Canadian but that's not important. Part of being a US citizen is that, in a lot of cases, our politics carry far more weight than anyone else's cuz most of the time the US is the country that can solve a problem or apply pressure and get a solution. I'm not sure that's the case right now, maybe it will be again soon. But everyone, not just Canadians, should be paying attention to what's happening in British Columbia.

Edmonton solidarity rally in support of the Wet’suwet’en. We’re calling on the Bank of Montreal to stop funding genocide. We’re calling the RCMP to stop invading and raiding the yintah. We’re calling on the B.C. and Canadian governments to fuck off. We’re calling on Coastal GasLink to stop putting profits above human rights.
