• On My First Ten Pull And I Already Got Alraune Queen 🥰 •

Am I the only one who wanted more out of Bayonetta 3. Like, fuck the side chapters and the Jeanne spy segments. I wanted the complete Demon roster from all the Bayonetta games with masquerades to match, give me a Diomedes masquerade thats just a sword unicorn centaur. Give me a Bayonetta or Viola variant that was contracted to Alraune, maybe they went crazy and killed their family. Give me a castle defense Deadly Sin ritual segment between Bayonetta and French Rosa, the clock tower could have become the demonic city Pandemonium and Alraune could have become a queen in a giant Raffelsia palace. Demon Slave is so underutilized maybe make a segment where you have to utilize Alraune's ability to control plants to make paths for progression or segments that are easier with the clock tower's witch time ability. Give me Rodin stopping Bayonetta before the final fight and telling her that he will help her for the final fight and just giving her his weapon and then she summons him along with a Jeanne and Rosa variant who had lived instead of Bayonetta during the witch hunts and they all dance together attacking Singularly at the same time. Give me Alternate Bayonettas with compelling stories, making their deaths all the more tragic. Fuck the heteronomative ending give me Jeanne and Bayonetta hugging after all is said and done and just when you think they aren't going to they kiss and tell each other that after everything they've been through that it will take more than some AI with a God complex to keep them apart. Fuck the prequel, just give us a chapter where Viola is wandering through the Avalon Forest herself with an adult version of the Origins Bayonetta (who could be married to Lukaon) maybe she has to Deadly Sin Cheshire. Give Singularly actual motives and make them a looming threat, instead of just "I'm going to kill all the Bayonettas!" "Why?" "BECAUSE I FUCKING CAN!" Give me a Deadly Sin fight between Kraken (Maybe called Cassiopia) and Queen Butterfly. Give all the demons that she summons a Deadly Sin form or variation. Give me a final summon where all the variants (maybe some are Lumen Sages) come together, rip out their hearts, and summon Hecate as a sort of embodiment of magic and it's ultimately chaotic nature within the trinity. And she just fucking removes Singularly from reality instantly erasing the damage they did, but all the Bayonettas remember what happened and Viola can't return home so she's just adopted by Bayo and Jeanne. Just give us more than a half baked story with no passion in it. Give me emotion and passion, not a story that has some decent concepts and macanics. Basically Bayonetta 3 wasn't worth the $60 it cost and it should have been more than a half baked concept.

figured i'd post the full creature list for my bravely default bestiary mod for dwarf fort since the mod is basically finished ignoring my indecisiveness under read more since it's like 50 miles long

 Foes

 There are a great many plant creatures out there that are a danger to those that travel in the wild places of the world. Some are mere predators seeking nutrients, while others have stranger agendas. Whatever their methods or motives, they are not to be taken lightly.

 Perhaps the most basic of plant monsters are those that resemble giant versions of real carnivorous plants with additional mobility, such as giant flytraps or giant sundews.

However, much more fantastical man-eating plants also exist, such as the classic tendriculos, tree-concealed canopy creepers and tarantula trees, and deadly swift weedwhips and viper vines.

While many utilize poisons, few are more infamous for it than the likes of alraunes, basidronds, and the like, as well as the nightmarish yellow musk creepers, who reanimate corpses, their seedlings puppeteering them around in search of more bodies for fertilizer.

Plenty of other predatory plants are technically not carnivorous, instead focusing on slaying creatures so that their corpses can provide fertilizer, such as assassin vines, gluttongrass, jack-o-lanterns, frost firs, hangman trees, mandrakes, and so on.

I know what you’re thinking. Pretty much every plant monster we’ve come across so far has had some variation of “wants to eat you”, but there are also those with more insidious purposes, such as the parasitic griefgall, or the machinations of the mi-go, or even the full on people-replacing invasion of the bodythief! Rest assured there is plenty of paranoia horror to be found in the plant type, even if it’s not super common.

It would be remiss to not also mention the variety of fungus in this creature type. Some of them are fairly straightforward, such as the rolling puffballs called ascomoids seeking to crush prey and spread their spores far and wide, or the phantom fungus and violet fungus being predators with their own special gimmicks. However, fungus also have their own quirks, and a recurring one is how they interact with decaying bodies. Vegepygmyies worship the corpses they grow from, myceloids view all other creatures as food or pawns, bonethorns are horrifying corpses-puppeteers, and fungal queens and fungal creatures are eerie beings of fungus mimicking or even replacing non-fungal creatures.

Some plants also exhibit psychic power, such as bramblethrones spawning from the blood of conquerers and puppeting a mortal to see those unfulfilled dreams of conquest come true, while lotus trees vary between strange guardians of utopias or demagogues of false paradises. Perhaps most terrifying among psychic flora, however, is the zygomind, a colossal fungus that traps victims in powerful psychic microcosms, leaving their victims never really sure if they actually beat the beast, or if their bodies are dreaming of a realistic victory as the fungus consumes them.

 The plant type doesn’t have a lot of variety in terms of motivations or modus operandi, instead focusing mostly on their gimmicks, but such antagonists can still be used in a variety of ways. A dungeon might use such vegetation as defense, or a room might be overtaken by an invasive specimen. Wealthy would-be gardeners might have a single prize plant pet, or they might have a deadly greenhouse full of such beings. The rare occasions where the plant is in control, they often are horrifying mastermind creatures controlling victims who may or may not be beyond saving, depending on the nature of their insidious control.

In the end, such creatures can be everything from alien invaders, a hazard of exotic or remote locales, and so on. Either way, they might be natural beings or a sign that something is definitely wrong.

Also, don’t forget that plenty of plants we mentioned yesterday that might ally with the party might also oppose them as well, either due to misunderstandings, the party being despoilers, or some corruption turning them against the party.

 That will do for today, but tomorrow we’ll see how plant creatures might provide inspiration for heroes!

Actually it's more comparable to Bayonetta letting her hair out for "serious mode" than climaxes.

One of those things feels empowering and the other...is cool, but gets old, and also it's kinda. Some of the Kaiju fights are a pain. And the Sin form of demons being their *true* forms feels kind of absurd. I'd have preferred that they stuck to Bayonetta's soul/blood sacrifice empowers them to evolve a la Alraune getting a power boost by having Jeanne's soul, not "by offering her heart(? Why? Exactly?) she becomes strong enough to handle summoning the demon's true form"

Then it becomes about Bayonetta's power a smidge more and less about just "look at how stupidly powerful infernal demons are Sigurd can't compete"

EDIT: Okay so it kind of is that Bayonetta's magic rich blood causes the demon to evolve, I was misled by the wording of some of these entries. "Queen Butterfly" is supposed to be Madama Butterfly's "true" form, but for Phantasmaranae, it's his "ultimate" form, and I lean towards that being the intent behind the whole thing.

impressions of Bayo3 so far: 1.) the intro portion of Bayo2 is better than the intro portion of Bayo3 but it's not BAD just...not as good (this is mainly because I don't like the Colour My World moveset that much, I vastly prefer Love is Blue. thankfully, if you have Bayo 1/2 save data they just give you those guns after Chapter 1 so that issue was fixed really quickly) 2.) the game really picks up at Chapter 3 3.) before the game came out I thought I wasn't gonna like Viola but nope. she's my daughter. I love her (can't play her worth shit because I keep fucking up the parries but she has so much charm imo) (minor spoilers for stuff up to Chapter 5)

4.) when she literally rips her beating heart out and lets out that relatively long Enochian chant to summon Sin Gomorrah/Queen Butterfly 😍😍😍 (Jen Hale killed it here) 5.) so glad the best weapon from Bayonetta 2 aka Alraune is in this game and can be obtained as early as Chapter 3 if you find all the umbran tear familiars 6.) I'm glad we can get different color options for each costume. so I can roll Bayonetta 3's default look with a purple outfit and green hair if I wanted to (no blue hair tho, Platinum said no blue hair and pronouns rights). I also like that the costumes are relatively cheap. hated having to pay like a million halos in Bayo 1 and 2 for a costume
