Inhuman!III Headcanons

Note: i figured I'd start this series off with our favorite Noodle Man (affectionate), because I don't see a lot of x reader stuff for him and that's a shame :(

General:

His primary inhuman ability is metamorphosis. He can change his physical appearance at will.

III tends to keep the same general features (two eyes, normal amount of limbs, etc), but his hair is constantly changing. He's also prone to adjusting the amount of teeth he has, as well as the sharpness of them.

Ever the prankster, he likes to startle the other vessels from time to time with this. More than once he's scared them by elongating his limbs or adding more appendages. The biggest mistake the vessels ever made was telling him about Slenderman.

He purrs! All of the vessels can, but III is the only one who really takes advantage of it. The others do too, but rarely.

Very fond of his outfits. Thankfully, he's constantly finding new clothing in his wardrobe, courtesy of Sleep.

Very chatty compared to the other vessels! While the rest sort of prefer the telepathic route for communication, III prefers to speak aloud.

Voted "most likely to get into trouble". The Shenanigans are endless tbh, and it's not unusual for him to end up in a situation where he has to call upon the manor itself or one of the others for help. (There's a reason most of the chandeliers in the manor have been removed).

Also the most likely to do stuff just to see if it hurts him. Think "I'm functionally immortal. Surely it won't hurt if this critter I found bites me". It does hurt. He does it again a week later.

Fluff:

That being said, he loves to make you laugh. Any time you're down and need cheering up, III is your man. There's not much he won't do to get at least a giggle out of you.

Turns into a bit of a boa constrictor when you cuddle. The man is all limbs even without altering their length, so it's normal for the two of you to take the phrase "getting tangled up" very literally.

So. Much. Energy. Seriously, he's always pulling you here and there to join him on adventures, babbling away the whole time as he tells you stories or just talks to you.

In the same vein, he's very prone to just. Blurting out his feelings about you. The rest of the vessels are more reserved, some only saying such things through your mental connection, but III has no trouble telling you out loud how much he cares about you.

III really, really likes to make you things as gifts. Granted, sometimes they can be a bit... eccentric (necklace pendant made out of one of his own teeth, for example), but they really do come from a place of love.

Very fond of just... running his hands over you. Whether it be lightly tracing your shoulder, keeping a hand at your back, or just slinging an arm around your shoulders, III is a very affectionate vessel.

Loves wearing matching things!! Get checkered socks to match his and he's over the moon. Even if it's something as simple as wearing matching colors, he just likes being able to see he's tied to you in some way, shape, or form.

Breaks out the purring often, especially when you let him rest his head on your chest. He'll just plop down atop you and start rumbling. He'll gladly lay there for hours if you'll let him - even going so far as to get into some slight trouble for missing practice/rehearsals.

Smut (under the cut):

Remember how I said he can change his body at will? I'm sure you know where I'm going with this. He'll adjust the size of his cock to be exactly what you want. Too big? He'll tone it down. Need more? Say less. (He's also been known to uh. "Create" more of them, should you ask. But you didn't hear that from me).

Likes to nip and bite at you. It's his most common form of foreplay; just nibbling at your pulse point or gently grabbing your shoulder with his mouth. It's never hard enough to break the skin or make you bleed, it's just a habit he's developed.

Every once in a while, when he's feeling particularly needy, he'll conjure up multiple arms. Just to be able to feel you under as many of his hands as possible. Also comes in handy (no pun intended) considering he can grope you everywhere at the same time. He doesn't have to choose.

Likes to tease, in any way imaginable. With his words, his touch, anything. If he doesn't have you begging for more at some point, then he hasn't done his job.

Whether he is soft or rough is really a coin toss. Some times he can be so gentle it almost hurts, murmuring quiet words of praise and littering your skin with kisses. Other times he can't contain himself and needs to simply have you in any way you'll let him. What causes the flip is really anyone's guess.

Has a wide submissive streak. More than once you've been able to pin him beneath you as you straddle his hips, only for him to look up at you with eyes as wide as his grin. He'll gladly let you take control whenever you want.

I'm sure this comes as no surprise, but the man is an expert at dirty talk. Any kind of talk you want, he's got it at the ready for you. Most of the time it's a mix between praise and playful condescension.

I've mentioned it briefly elsewhere, but III loves to come on you. Anywhere you'll let him, he doesn't care, as long as he can see it trailing down your skin. Your stomach or back are his usual go-to locations, however.

Don't wanna reblog with deraily thoughts that aren't particularly related to the main point, but earlier this evening I saw a post float by that was about goodness in fiction, differing authorial and audience philosophies, and how cynical worldviews can affect the reading of texts that completely gloss over any hopeful or encouraging messages in favor of the grim ones. And I realized, I think that happens in real life too. I think it happens person to person. I am not perfect, and I make mistakes, and sometimes I'm kind of a jerk, and once I even very publicly did a bit of accidental racism* and dug myself into quite a nasty hole before I stopped and reflected and realized I had, in fact, done extremely poorly. But I make an effort to improve. I try to make myself a better person by learning new stuff and thinking about and evaluating what I learn to find the things that are important to me and understand why and how they are important. I try to minimize how much hurt I cause and I try to do at least a little bit of good in the world, even if some days that's only making sure my cat is properly cared for and my little garden sufficiently watered. And I think, I hope, in general, I do okay at that. I hope that I do and am, basically, good. I think most people are, basically, trying to be and do good. But also a lot of people are pretty full of hurt. I'm one of them. And I think that sometimes we hurt each other because we expect to be hurt. I have definitely had people that I counted as friends, that I felt I had a decent rapport with, look for the bad in me so hard that they ended up manufacturing bad that wasn't even actually there. I have definitely messed up in my life. But I have had people end friendships with me by hurling accusations and entire timelines of stuff that never happened at me, and I sort of think they really believed their own fabricated string of events. The worst part of all that, right now, is that I think there's one or two people I might have done this sort of thing to in my youth as well, and that's a pretty upsetting thought. I'm trying to be kind to past me though. That guy was an idiot, but she was working with the info they had on hand. And sometimes the info wasn't complete, or was plain wrong. Be kind to yourselves, everyone. And whenever practical, be kind to each other. There's so much goodness in people, and yeah sometimes there's bad too. But if we try to be good to each other, when we can, maybe when we can will get bigger, and when we can't will get smaller. And even if that doesn't happen, I think it's still worth doing. I think that being kind, being and doing good, even if it's not very big good, is still important. This got a bit long. It's pretty late here and I haven't been feeling super great the last few days. I think I'm going to bed, if my executives will deign to function for a couple more minutes.

*this incident still routinely haunts me and I feel extremely gross about it whenever it drifts back into my mind. I do not actively think of various groups of people as inherently better or worse, if I do catch myself starting to think these sorts of things these days I make an effort to course correct, and I think that the fact that we as a species have so many variation in features, language, and culture is extremely cool in general, but I'm sure I have biases I'm not aware of and I am working on adjusting them, but man, did I do a shit job that one time. I've done smaller scale shit jobs in the past and those bother me too, but this one was just so very public, which means a lot of people may have seen it, which ups the number of people I may have hurt with that fuckup.

The turnaround on Cyperpunk 2077 is so absurd I still can't understand it.

You could spot the red flags a mile away: from the game being announced all the way back in 2012 (before The Witcher 3, even) and hyping it up all throughout as the biggest, baddest game that will revolutionize gaming and put other interactive open world games like GTA5 to shame, a promise a lot of people realized that a relatively small studio with ONE big game to their name will probably not be able to keep but that most other people ate up;

then there was the massive and I mean MASSIVE marketing campaign, which is never a good sign, really makes you wonder where all the money for development is going. No but seriously this game was EVERYWHERE, just ads everywhere nonstop. They got Keanu Reeves for it! Just an ungodly amount of resources and effort went into the marketing of this game. Combine that with the fact that preorders were open before gameplay was ever shown, the game reportedly only started development in 2016 (no way they made that big a game in just four years) and that it was delayed THREE times (first it should have been released in april 2020, then it was moved to september, then november, then december) and the writing was on the wall;

but also there were a BOATLOAD of issues regarding CD Projekt Red itself and its handling of the game, from the devs' statement that the game is not a political statement even though it belongs to one of the most politically-charged genres there are (and is just in general a spineless thing to say), the neverending transphobia controversies, and then the company publically admitting that the developers were required to crunch to get the game out in time. Just a shitshow, all around.

Then the game came out and we all know how that went: it was a buggy, unfinished mess, and definitely the glitchiest commercial game to come out in a long time. On PC and PS5 it was a hellish experience, but on PS4 it was literally unplayable, so much so that (as you already said) Sony took it down and issued refunds to whoever bought it no questions asked.

And even beyond the bugs, the game was mid: the story isn't that great, the gameplay is just alright, the world feels lifeless and static and not at all a real environment where people live, and most of the features that were promised for years like trains, extensive charcter customization and player agency, world interactions etc. were nowhere to be seen. Honestly the game's development cycle and what it resulted in is a better cyberpunk story than anything the game itself ever could have offered.

For a short beautiful year it became the gaming world's laughingstock: bug compilations and critical essays were everywhere, and everyone was renouncing CD Projekt Red and the practices that brought us to this point. It truly felt like a cultural reset, and how could it possibly not be? The launch had been disastrous and the reasons as to why were all clear as day, something SURELY would change.

But then two years later Edgerunners came out and it was good, so people were interested in the game again, and in the meantime the game had been patched and is now functional, and it's like that terrible launch never fucking happened! People LOVE that game now, saying that it's good and well-crafted (it's mid, and it should have been so much more) and if you try to talk about the bugs they'll say "yeah but they worked hard to fix it so they deserve the praise" as if the state the game was in when it launched to be sold is something that happens by mistake. I feel insane, how can you POSSIBLY trust CD Project Red after that? And be willing to PAY for that very game that shook the industry to the core when it came out?

And now we're here, nothing's changed and the industry's in an even worse state now, the only thing we learned is that gamers have the memory of a goldfish.

Cyberpunk 2077 was a cautionary tale of bad management, tired open-world design cliches and unregulated crunch leading to an absolute disaster of a release. I remind you: the game was so bad that shortly after release, Sony removed it from the store and offered refunds. Everyone agreed that it was an absolute shit game, an emblematic instance of how bad the game industry had gotten.

And then a half decent anime happened and the conversation changed overnight.

Suddenly people were saying Cyberpunk was great, that it was underrated, that everyone should play it again. The switch-up was instant, and shallow. People were back to giving CD Projekt Red their money, despite their continuing bad business practices, all because a spin-off made them think happy thoughts about the brand.

So no, not a fan.
