I have no idea who etho slab is, but I assume he’s a wet cat of a man who tries his best to play Minecraft and fails miserably.

etho s. lab has been a minecraft youtuber since 2010 and is famed for pioneering many technical achievements in minecraft’s logic-based in-game coding system (redstone) that have become ubiquitous such as the etho hopper clock (which he just calls the hopper clock). many other minecraft youtubers (bdoubleo100 and docm77 to name just two) call him one of the best if not THE best minecraft youtuber out there. he has a reputation for being incredibly deadly in-game due to participating in multiple seasons of a pvp game mode called UltraHardcore (UHC) and making it to the final two or winning several times.

however

minecraft is a game that adds new content regularly and changes game mechanics every now and then, and the pvp system has evolved over time. now my man, my good time boy, mr. etho slab was out of the pvp game for a little while, and jumped back into a series people around here call the “life series” “life smp” “traffic series” or “traffic smp”, named after the life system implemented on this minecraft server. basically, you have a limited number of lives which is denoted by the color of your in-game name (green, yellow, and red). the current iteration of this series is called limited life because the players have a limited amount of time to be “alive”. you gain time by killing others, and you lose time if you die.

etho has not been doing well in this game. he has died so many times. he died so many times in the most recent session that he claimed “audio corruption issues” and didn’t upload his perspective. he is also roleplaying being a somewhat absent father to his in-game children (other players in the game) and has been told by his in-game ex-wife he isn’t even succeeding at that. a running bit that he stated himself is that he’s “washed up” and the fandom has taken that and sprinted with it.

and that’s not even mentioning the 1v1 pvp with geminitay (aka geminislay) where he killed her i think twice and she killed him 28 times. or the fact that he plays without a mousepad. or the audio capture setup that baffles everyone.

he’s our favorite guy, he is actually incredibly good at minecraft, but right now he’s a bit washed up. pathetic wet cat so true so correct

Been thinking a lot ab transfem 2012 leo lately,,,,​ :]

I love she. I like to think she secretly wears eye makeup under her mask while still in the closet. She's just happy to know she has it on even if no one else sees it. Sad that she can't put anything on her actual eyelids or she'll get caught :( so she just kinda puts it around her eyes. It still looks good when her eyes are open.

And she's actually like good at it too, making art on her face. She tries it once and suddenly it's her favorite past time hobby (even above Space Heroes), trying out different looks and styles. She searches up color theory and complexions and everything, though she has to learn a lot by herself since she has green skin. She's probably watched a thousand makeup videos. And she keeps this up for months without being caught, being the ninja that she is. It becomes so normal to her to the point that when her mask flies off during a fight with some bad guy she doesn't even realize how big a deal it is at first, lol.

After she does get found out she just says she likes makeup, not mentioning anything about being trans. April is ecstatic about Leo's hobby and buys her all kinds of makeup stuff like fake eyelashes, despite April herself not being that into makeup. Karai joins in too, teaching Leo some edgier looks. Sometimes they wear matching makeup.

Raph and Donnie are a bit weirded out at first but they can see this is, for some reason, important to Leo so they refrain from making any rude comments, even if just jokingly. Mikey loves it, he is fully supportive. Probably asks Leo to do his makeup once or twice. He is a bit jealous that Leo is trying to take his place as the cutest turtle though.

Raph appriciates the artsiness of it and the level of skill it would take to do that. He still thinks it's weird but he warms up to it.

Donnie does not at all get it but it makes his "brother" happy so it it what it is. And he will admit it is pretty cute.

Despite what everyone would have expected, Splinter doesn't make a big deal out of it. He just asks what the occasion is. Leo's new hobby doesn't get in the way of anything and it makes his "son" happy. He can also appriciate the time and effort of the craft. He'd probably be curious to know some of the techniques. Not for any purpose, just pure curiosity.

Casey would randomly walk into the lair one day and think Leo is some new sister of theirs. Which, technically he's not wrong. Leo is silently having a gender moment after Casey calls her a girl while Raph is laughing at Casey's confusion on the situation.

Casey doesn't know shit about makeup (me too fam) but he thinks it's badass that Leo is confidently wearing it. Screw toxic masculinity and all that shit. He goes on a random rant about his sister wanting to try makeup but thinking she's too young for that stuff (does she have a canon age? I imagine her being like 11). Leo tells him he should give his sister a chance to try it out, that it's just a fun activity and doesn't mean anything. Leo gives him like a whole lecture how makeup is about how it makes the person wearing it feel and not looking good for someone else. So Casey ends up deciding he's gonna give his sister some basic makeup stuff for her birthday (or Christmas, whichever comes first). Leo is satisfied.

Later that day Casey would ask Leo to help him decide what to give his sister and Leo is happy to help. What she doesn't expect though is for Casey to just straight up ask if she's trans. She panics. Casey panics at Leo's panic and splutters apologies for asking so suddenly, reassuring her that he's fully supportive if she is trans. So Leo comes out to him. And it feels nice. It's nice to have someone else know, to not carry it alone. Even though she was not at all prepared or ready to come out to anyone yet. She went to sleep feeling lighter that day.

Name: Yellow Shy Guy

Debut: Certainly not Mario Kart Tour! (It was Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island)

Yeah yeah yeah this is a very Regular Mario Enemy. Yes, you are on the right blog! But this is a Regular Mario Enemy, in a Weird Mario Situation... yeah, it’s another post about the specifics of character alt colors in Mario Kart Tour. I hope you like those!

Shy Guys come in all sorts of colors! They always have! Red may be default, but yellow can always be counted on to make an appearance if other colors are present. It makes sense, since Yellow is one of the main characters of Colors. Do you consider the primary colors to be red/blue/yellow or magenta/cyan/yellow? Doesn’t matter! Yellow is there! Please do not bring up RGB. But if you do, I will simply retort that the powers of red and green light must combine to give rise to the mighty Yellow!

Yellow Shy Guy is also very often playable! In older, more limited games, the default red may be the only one playable, but these days you can confidently expect Yellow Shy Guy to be an option. If you were lucky in Mario Kart DS download play, you might be assigned Yellow Shy Guy by random chance! Yellow Shy Guy finally became selectable in Mario Kart 8′s DLC, which to me is more appealing than any of the added characters. While my favorite color is light blue, I am a big fan of Yellow Shy Guy, and find his green shoes more fashionable than Light-Blue Shy Guy’s red ones!

But then, along came Mario Kart Tour. Red Shy Guy was the first one present, no problem with that! We all knew the rest would come soon enough. But they came in a weird order! Black, pink, green, light blue, blue, white, orange... At the time of Orange Shy Guy’s release, it had been nearly three and a half years since the game launched. And yet, still no sign of that classic yellow fellow? I’m normally mellow, but that makes me want to bellow! Even a gold Shy Guy was added... gold. The coward’s yellow!

On the wiki’s list of Shy Guy colors, Yellow is among the only ones not using a render from Tour, instead being shown using one from Dr. Mario World, in a different pose. Yellow looks like an impostor among all these others! I’m here if he ever needs to vent.

According to Mario Super Sluggers, Yellow Shy Guy loves to steal. Hey! Stealing is bad! Is that why you’re not allowed in Tour, Yellow Shy Guy? Green Shy Guy loves to hit and run, but that’s okay. Mario Kart is all about vehicular violence. They love that kind of attitude!

This all being said, Yellow Shy Guy is technically playable in Tour, though as a variant in the form of Yellow Shy Guy (Explorer). This is an act of community service, as Yellow Shy Guy is graciously role-playing as an old-timey prospector as seen in the new version of Sunset Wilds, replacing the racist usage of Shy Guys from the GBA version of the track. Thank you, Yellow Shy Guy! But still, he should not have to hide himself behind a costume to get a place in the roster. Or I guess a second costume, in this case. When will being a humble Yellow Shy Guy be seen as enough...?

Yellow Shy Guy loves to steal, it’s true. And he is especially great at stealing the show! I am so proud of Yellow Shy Guy for finally making it into Mario Kart Tour! #YellowShyGuySweep! It makes me want to play as Yellow Shy Guy in Mario Kart 8, which is a much better game where you can access Yellow Shy Guy quickly and easily.

To celebrate our friend’s victory, if you have Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, you could play the custom Yellow Mode I made up! Here are the rules:

1. All humans must play as Yellow Shy Guy, and use only the yellowest of kart parts!

2. Only yellow items may be used! This means Coin, Banana, Triple Banana, Golden Mushroom, Star, and Lightning!

3. Only yellow courses are allowed! There are not that many yellow courses, so you can use your imagination here. For example, Toad Circuit features a big Yellow Toad balloon, and untextured Yellow sand! Wario’s Gold Mine is about mining some Yellow Minerals! Ice Ice Outpost features a whole yellow track, but don’t even think about driving on the green one!

Dionysus Cabin

(this is ignoring what’s mentioned in the books bc i can’t remember if anything was mentioned)

you know how in vineyards there are these buildings that are made of stone and have vines growing all over the walls? and are usually smaller buildings with the red tile roofs? yeah, that’s how the cabin looks likes. and also like a vineyard, most of the building is underground.

the only things in the main room upstairs is a living room, a spare bedroom, and a bathroom.

downstairs (like wine cellars) is where all the bedrooms, another bathroom, and a kitchen is. there’s a store room that does house alcohol but it’s charmed so no one under legal age (and dionysus) can drink anything.

there’s a small library that’s full of favorite books from past siblings and dionysus himself. there’s also manuscripts of favorite plays and musicals and other things that they might want future family to remember.

because there are very little of them, everyone gets there own room and everyone kind of has their own space to escape to within the cabin. maybe it’s that one chair in the library. maybe it’s the old beanbag that’s in the kitchen for some reason. or it’s the main living room upstairs.

this cabin usually has some of the closest familial bonds within camp. there’s so few of them and since they also have their dad right there, it’s easy to connect with each other. (ignoring that technically, Dionysus shouldn’t have direct contact with his children bc of zeus being a big ol meany, let’s say he does anyway bc it’s an easy fuck you to his dad)

the color scheme of most of the interior is usually muted purples and reds. there is a lot of greys and greens. a lot of comfy pillows and cushions and blankets are always within reach.

there is a room specifically used for karaoke and dramatic performances of musical numbers and scenes from plays/musicals/movies/books/etc. god of theatre, guys.

just, usually there is a lot of fun and love within this cabin. that’s it.

The top locations (Hoover Dam, Lighthouse) are notable and highly visible locations.

The bottom locations (Dinky, Teapot) are notable and very kitschy, unique, tourist-related locations.

Hunter was beyond excited to give Willow his latest creation. He had truly outdone himself this time, consulting multiple books, blogs, and online tutorials. He had pricked his fingers so much that each one was now graced with a colorful bandage to attest to his dedication. Most of it he had done by hand, working well into the night to make sure it was done before the week was over. There was no special occasion that the gift was for, but the anticipated look on Willow’s face was motivation enough.

When Gus left the basement to “get a drink of water” and have Hunter a dramatic wink to signify he would not be returning, Hunter leapt up from the couch to retrieve her gift from his sewing station. When he called her name to show her, her jaw dropped.

“Oh my Titan, Hunter it’s stunning!” Willow exclaimed, jumping from her seat and rushing over to take his creation in her arms. It was the Emerald Entrails signature color, lightweight with a quilted texture and “Park” in large letter across the back and a small bee patch on the end of the sleeve to represent Clover. She admired every stitch, every detail, every part of the jacket an unmistakable indication that it could be made for no one else by her by no one else but Hunter. She slipped it on, unsurprised that it fit her perfectly. “How do I look?” Willow asked sweetly, twirling around like it was a ball gown.

“Perfect,” said Hunter, excited to see her excited. “As always.”

“Oh my Titan, did you hand stitch this?” Willow exclaimed again, looking at herself in the mirror and spotting “Captain” purposely displayed just above her heart.

“Oh, yeah. But, it was nothing.” he lied, it has been one of the most tedious parts of the project. “I still haven’t showed you the best part!”

“Oh! It has pockets?!” Willow gasped as she put her hands in them, feeling like she was on the cover of Flyer Derby monthly.

“Even better.” Hunter said with a smile.

“Double pockets?!” Willow said with a louder, deep gasp.

“No- well, actually kind of,” he laughed. “It’s reversible.”

Willow gasped once more. “Shut up!”

“It’s true!” Hunter said, feeling like he was about to jump out of his skin in the best way. “See for yourself.”

Willow carefully slipped it off, and found the liner was a lighter green the same color as her eyes and littered with white, wide flowers. As she turned it inside out, she saw there was a matching bee patch resting on the opposite sleeve. And it also had pockets! How did a jacket manage to capture every part of her so perfectly?

A true labor of love.

“Hunter thank you so much, I love it.” She lunged forward and wrapped him in a tight hug. “This was so sweet. I’m never taking it off, it’s so comfortable.”

“You’re welcome,” he said, returning her embrace as a wide smile spread across his face. “I’m glad you like it, it was my first time making something with girlfriend material.”

“Wait, what?” Willow asked, taking a step back to look up at him with wide eyes, wondering if she heard him correctly.

“Oh, I wanted it to be extra special so Camila helped me find this fabric, and they had it in two similar colors that both reminded me of you and since I couldn’t decide which one to get, that’s how I got the idea to-.”

“Are you saying my jacket is made of… girlfriend material?” Willow cut him off, giving him a playful eyebrow raise. She was able to connect his interpretation of the fabric’s name with her attempt to flirt with him last week. Never had she been so grateful for a misunderstanding.

“Um, yeah? But I don’t know if-.” Before he could finish explaining that that might not be the technical name of the fabric, Willow took him by the hand and was pulling him up the stairs. “Uh, where are we going?”

“I’m going to show everyone my new favorite jacket and I need you to tell them what it’s made of.”

Twst OC Vega del Castillo: The Fairy Godmother’s wand 🪄

I finally figured out how to make digital art on my phone, so I made a new TWST OC! \(//∇//)\ This is my boy, Vega del Castillo, who is twisted from the Fairy Godmother’s wand! (*ﾟ∀ﾟ*) Flashbacks to the time when Jamil was thought to be twisted from “Jafar’s staff” when Twisted Wonderland was first announced lmaoo

I ramble a lot more about him underneath the cut, with more of his personality and design inspiration and such ☆〜（ゝ。∂）

Despite what some may think, the wand in Cinderella is an item that can be used no matter the good or evil intentions! For example, in Cinderella 3, Lady Tremaine gets her hands on it to literally turn back time to get revenge on Cinderella. And interestingly enough, the wand’s magic turns green instead of its usual silver, indicating when it’s being used for evil purposes. This is why I gave Vega green eyes too! ^o^

Vega’s name came from the star, which is known as one of the next important stars besides our own Sun. The Vega star is a blueish-white star and one of the brightest stars in our sky, which I found fitting with Vega’s color scheme haha. “del Castillo” means “of the castle,” and tbh it was the only surname I could think of 😭 I guess it fits because the wand is what leads Cinderella to her happily ever after in the castle?? (*ﾟ∀ﾟ*)

He’s from Sage’s Island because I thought that’d be funny haha. Technically, it’s all too possible for one of the village children in Sage’s Island to attend NRC, don’t you think? He knows far more about the island that the average student, and has been admiring NRC and RSA for years, and even applied to both schools. NRC is the one who accepted his application instead of RSA.

Vega is half-Fae, but he’s not actually aware of it himself?? I was sort of inspired by the idea of the myth of the “changeling,” where a human child is kidnapped and swapped out for a Fae. He considers the whole village of Sage’s Island to be his family as they all sorta raised him together, since Vega never really had his “own” parents. It’s complicated, and no one really has the heart to explain it to him that he was abandoned once it was discovered he was essentially a changeling replacing the original human child. Vega is just vibing tho (((o(*ﾟ▽ﾟ*)o)))

Vega has a very flashy sense of fashion- he likes a lot of shiny materials and glitters. His butterfly glasses were inspired by Cinderella’s dress and shoes in the live-action remake, but his shoes are there just white and gold cowboy boots just because haha. As you can imagine, he stands out a lot in the Ignihyde dorm. I can imagine he’s a figure that’s awed and feared by his dormmates just because he’s so flashy haha \(//∇//)\

Although he doesn’t mean it, Vega has a tendency to “steal the show,” and also interpreting other’s words in a completely different manner in his head. It leads to a lot of misunderstandings whenever one deals with him, and he’s the sort of person to say “why didn’t you say so earlier?” after the fact. He’s rather eager at the idea of helping, but lacks the consideration for personal choices.

Despite these traits of his, he is well-meaning at heart. Vega cares for his Ignihyde dormmates greatly, and is the self-declared of “mom friend” of the dorm. You know, the one that has every useful thing you could imagine in a purse, and correct your food order if you asked for no pickles. Although everything about him tends to rise from misunderstandings, he’s quite the loyal friend, even if there’s things he should work on to make it more balanced friendship. He never wants his peers to feel left out, so he always chats up his dormmates and brings them their favorite snacks and drinks to get along. Vega actually wears blue lipstick for this exactly reason haha! He heard about Idia’s insecurities over his appearance, and completely unknowing that it’s part of Idia’s curse, Vega went ahead to buy blue lipstick to wear every day so he could match with Idia. He feels like it adds to his own flashy appearance, so he quite likes it.

Anyway, he was assigned to Ignihyde dorm because of his “spirit of diligence.” He is an extremely dedicated worker to his projects, and he also fits in with Ignihyde in regards to his mechanical inventions. Whether it be cutting-edge outfits or new contraptions, he combines technology with many different mediums in an attempt to design something that’s never been seen before.

I’d like to think he experimented with pretty much all of the clubs at NRC. I can imagine him joining the Equestrian club at first because of the “aesthetics,” but immediately quit when he fell off the horse lmao. Film Studies in-game is said to be heavily lacking in backstage workers, since many of the members are from Pomefiore and want to be on stage, not behind the scenes. That’s where Vega swooped in, fiddling with lighting and set design and costumes. He keeps himself really busy because again, backstage members are lacking and sometimes Vega’s visions are too bold to bring to life with the limited deadlines. Still, he has a lot of fun using his skills for the club!

His Unique Magic is “Put ‘Em Together,” which allows him to create brand new objects from a previous object (made from the same material- he can’t turn fabric into metal)- but the new object created will eventually shatter within a certain time limit. For example, he could change a regular crystal into a sword, but it will eventually shatter into millions of pieces, which destroys the original crystal it was made out of. Sort of like a reference to Lady Tremaine breaking Cinderella’s glass slipper! The subsequent shattering of his magic can be quite the mess, and even dangerous depending on the material he uses (paper would just tear into pieces, but crystal and wood can shatter/splinter right in his hands if he’s not careful) so it’s not like he can just summon whatever he wants for everyday use. I hope my explanation of this idea makes sense! (*⁰▿⁰*)

I rambled for so long haha! I feel like there’s so much I want to say in regards to character relationships and backstory, but I think I’ll save it for a future post to make more individual silly comics \(//∇//)\ Thanks for reading about my OC! ^_^

my first impressions of the characters from the twitter post thing that DRDTDev made about the other killing game. First off: I love all of them, and half the cast gives me gender envy. I am continually impressed at DRDTDev’s character designing ability, especially in making them interesting, non-boring designs that still communicate their personality and aren’t too complex or over designed. ugh. love them for it (/platonically and/or parasocially)

Just take a few seconds to admire them.

Ok! I’ll be going over some theories that relate to all of the characters, and then character by character, and then at the end a little general reflection.

So, one of the main theories that have been posed is that this killing game takes place before the events of DRDT, which I am like 87% sure of (up 7% from my last post, woo). It makes sense, especially in the context of the other theories regarding the characters. As well as this, it just makes sense timeline-wise.

There is also a theory that every character is somehow connected to someone in the current killing game, which I am still a little unsure of. I can definitely see it for some characters, but we know so little about each of them that it’s really hard to say whether or not that’s true. I will be going over who I think could be connected to who, just in case it does end up being true. However, I think a more likely theory is that a couple of the people involved in this killing game (likely the survivors) are connected to the current one, and exactly how much is up for us to discover.

Ok, on to the characters!

First off!

(I don’t know why, but she’s the only one who’s photo is cropped. oh well)

Pretty!! For the sake of this post, I’ll be calling her Spiral (I will be using the names that @xmicrophonyx came up with!).

My first thought when I saw her (besides the obligatory screeching) was that she gave me teacher vibes? That might be since I already had the context of this story being “about a person who wants to become the perfect teacher”. But outside of that, she definitely looks shy, with her hunched over posture and expression. I do adore her color palette, and the pops of teal add a lot.

In terms of a possible talent/role, I still think she gives teacher-y vibes, whatever that means, although outside of that I would think her talent is something a little more professional, considering her attire being formal (the coat, top, and scarf most of all). So other possibilities could be a secretary, librarian, buisness woman, etc.

Spiral could also be some kind of fancy art critic, or someone who works with the Spurling Foundation, if we need to connect her to the current killing game somehow.

Next up!

The boy!!!!

I’m going to be honest with you. I think he’s my favorite. His demeanor, the neon green jacket, the fingerless gloves, the cap, the khaki capri pants, the aura of a 14 year old shoujo protagonist—he is the moment. The fan name for him is Soundwave.

I think he likely deals with music, since the pattern on his shirt reminds me of sound recordings. Specifically, he probably is into the more technical side of music, such as EDM or techno or something like that (I know pretty much nothing about music, so take my word with a grain of salt).

Because of this, I think Soundwave would be connected to J. J also is in a similar sort of technical profession, so I think that maybe he could be someone who ends up working with J in the future/has worked with J or something like that.

There’s one thing with Soundwave that also is present in 2 of the other characters—he looks quite a bit younger than most of the cast. He’s shorter, yes, but his proportions also make him seem younger. However, the DRDTDev specifies that all of the characters present are 18 or above, so it likely doesn’t mean anything. People can just look young, after all.

Oh boy, let’s talk about them…

Hello there, XF. I will also be trying my best to use all of his pronouns! (Those being he/she/they). I am so happy to have yet another gender-non-conforming character in the general DRDT universe, and it is amazing to see such a wide array of diversity and representation in this cast, as well as the cast of the current killing game. Genuinely, I am just… blown away.

She is also the character which we have the strongest connection to the current killing game/a character from the current killing game, that being Min. Min mentions in her bonus episode that an organization called XF-Ture Tech were the ones to sponsor her for the test to become the Ultimate Student. On XF’s coat is an XF-Ture Logo. As well as this, they have the exact same tie clip that Min has.

PLUS, on top of this, he has the same purple/pink eyes that Min has. That last detail almost made me think they were related, but I don’t necessarily believe so. I mean, they might be, but I’m more inclined to believe that XF is just affiliated with/the leader of XF-Ture. There are A LOT of theories for her (along with a lot of simping ahem), but I won’t be mentioning all of them.

If they are the founder of XF-Ture Tech, I imagine their talent would be something like Ultimate Founder, Ultimate Inventor, Ultimate CEO, or something in that vein. He may not be the founder, however, and instead may just work for XF-Ture Tech. I’m not entirely sure, but I am inclined to believe that she is the founder because of the pink eyes. I have a theory that Min actually wears contacts, and that’s why her eyes look the same as XF’s. I may be totally wrong about this, and I thought that DRDTDev already said they weren’t, but I looked through the QnAs and I couldn’t find anything saying that. Unless it is confirmed somewhere, or it gets confirmed, that’s my theory for now!

As well as this, in the chapter 2 part 1 QnA, DRDTDev mentions that Min’s least favorite color(s) are pink and white together, because it’s “annoying”. Since that is a part of XF’s color palette, that draws an obvious connection between the two of them. If Min has had a lot of interaction with XF, and perceives them as annoying, this could be the reason for that connection. It definitely furthers the theory that Min and XF are connected. I’m pretty sure I barely scratched the surface in terms of what has been theorized about them, so I recommend you check out @accirax @googledetective and the posts they made, as well as any of the posts that are bound to be made by the rest of the DRDT theorists.

Him!!!!!!!

For all of you who don’t know, this character uses he/him pronouns and I absolutely love him for that :,) I am truly just… flabbergasted at how amazing DRDTDev continues to be in adding representation to their stories, and not only that, but doing such a good job of it.

Anyways! I will be calling him Dandelion after the dandelion in his hair.

As far as what we can deduce based on his outfit and demeanor: obviously this is a character who messes around with gender presentation (we stan) and doesn’t fall into the rigid categories that many cultures try to enforce. He also looks somewhat naive, and young (though all of these characters are ~18, of course). I also definitely don’t think his talent is something physically demanding, since he seems pretty skinny, and his clothes don’t look like they would be good for running around in.

However, this character has a few things that might key us in to what his talent might be. The first of which is his clothing, since my first thought on seeing it was that it looked trendy, or like something an influencer would wear. In a way that kind of juxtaposes their outfit, however, he has a dandelion in his hair, through the band keeping it up. It is very different from the rest of his color palette, and dandelions are usually considered ‘weeds’, which makes me think that Dandelion’s talent is instead something plant-based.

Since that dandelion is just so different from the rest of his outfit, I believe the latter is true, and that his talent is something like the Ultimate Botanist.

In terms of characters he might be connected to, my first thought was Levi. They both are fashionable, and if my previous thought of Bunny being an influencer or something of the like, it makes sense for Levi to know them somehow. Still, it’s a shaky theory.

I love asymmetrical designs, and the green/blue hair strand balances out his hair really well. I do also really like the strap on his leg, it gives him a slightly edgier look. I will be calling him “Scale” for convenience (I had names for each of these characters before someone came up with better ones, but @pastelclownkitty and I actually had the same idea for this guy!).

So, firsts things first: I do not think he is Elliot Cuevas. I saw this theory, considered it, and have come to the conclusion it doesn’t make sense (at least to me. if this is one of your theories that’s totally fine!). Elliot is described, by DRDTDev in the chapter 2 part 1 QnA, as having looked “shockingly similar” to how Charles looks now. I think the comparison is vague at best, not shocking. They do both have purple hair and dark skin, but both shades of those things are darker for Scale.

In terms of talent, the pattern of his shirt has been pointed out, and I agree that it probably relates to his talent. In fact, Scale somewhat reminds me of an anglerfish, with that bright green in his eyes and that strand of hair. I don’t know, I think I’m just saying things at this point.

Due to the mentioned factors above, I believe his talent is related to fishing or swimming, something like the Ultimate Angler. I can’t discern his build from under his clothing, but he looks a little skinny to be the Ultimate Swimming Pro or anything like that.

Ok. I’m sorry, but he looks a little… Fishy (don’t mind the pun). Maybe it’s how calm he is, or his mouth, but he reminds me of Rantaro somewhat. I love his design, though, and I think his color palette is supremely cool. I also like how his hair highlight is very faintly rainbow. It reminds me of how when you look at water a certain way, it shows a rainbow.

Our protag!! Or, well, Teacher.

Now, I’m pretty sure almost everyone agrees that this character is the Ultimate Teacher, or something of the like. He also has an ID card which says:

This ID card is the property of Hope’s Peak Academy. Use of this ID card by any person other than the rightful holder is prohibited. Report lost or stolen ID cards by contacted 555-483-7367.

Now, numbers starting with 555 are used for fictional phone numbers, specifically in North America, which is how we’re able to tell that this killing game’s participants probably come from the same Hope’s Peak that the participants of the current killing game are from. Other than that, it doesn’t really tell us much, other than our Protag has an ID card for Hope’s Peak. This leads us to believe that he may be staff, however DRDTDev confirms that these are 11 students.

One thing, though, that I think may be something…

What if Teacher is, instead of just a student, a student teacher? Basically, what if he is someone who comes in to help the actual teachers with the class load and such, but isn’t a classmate of the rest of the Ultimates. Either that, or he’s just a student who carries around his ID card from a lanyard. Like a weirdo (/j).

Now: The Mai thing. Many people think that Teacher may be a relative of Mai, or connected to her in some way, due to the red in his hair, on his shoes, and on the inside of his coat. However, the red used with his colors is very different from Mai’s red. Another theory to why he might be related to Mai is because his eyes are always closed in all the art we’ve seen of him, so maybe he’s related to one of the cast and DRDTDev is keeping his eyes closed to not spoil who. I do believe this part, just not with Mai.

Okay well, here my theory goes:

Teacher is the older brother of Teruko. Teruko mentions in chapter 1 episode 4 that she has an older brother, but they were separated when she was 5. She likely doesn’t remember much about him at all (and I suspect that he was the one who Teruko says she “couldn’t remember the face” of as well). Although they don’t have the same hair color, they do have a very similar skin color, and the closed-eye thing could be just as true with Teruko as with Mai. As well as this, most characters in all of DRDT have a gradient on their eyelashes. 3 characters who don’t? Mai, Teruko, and now Teacher.

Imma be honest, it’s a bit of a crack theory, but I kinda like it, and think it’s interesting. I’m pretty sure I’m going to be the only one to believe this haha

Oh wait! I almost forgot! The whole thing on him being the “Teacher” referenced in secret text. I don’t have much to say on that except that yeah, that’s probably true. Maybe. Who knows.

Sigh, I love men.

I’ll be calling this dude Mint, which I know is separate from the names that @xmicrophonyx came up with, but… I think it’s cute, so. First off, his design is great, yada yada, and I love his little cropped jacket. Very cute.

I definitely think his design is pretty sporty, especially with the layers of the undershirt, over shirt, and jacket, along with the coat around his waist. My first thought for him is that he does some kind of racing, either with cars or motorcycles, because that’s what his jacket reminds me of. Race car drivers do wear gloves, so this would make sense for that. I imagine this isn’t his actual racing clothes, instead just casual clothes, but there are still elements of his racing clothes in there. Along with this, it makes sense that he’d have his hair tied back so then he could fit it under his helmet and it wouldn’t get in his face too much (although I suspect his ponytail is too high to fit under a helmet. Oh well, he might wear it lower on race days).

His personality seems like it would fit that sort of thing as well, since he looks serious and somewhat aggressive. He also has those little marks under his eyes. I’m not entirely sure what they’re for, but I’m sure I could connect it back somehow if I wasn’t working on this post for like 3 hours and had any energy whatsoever to do research into it (I just got home from a very long car ride, so keep in mind I am still somewhat delirious). Idk. Maybe he just wanted to look pretty/intimidating/whatever so he put markings under his eyes.

A Child?!? Well, no, probably not, but she does look very, very young. Perhaps it’s the fact she’s right next to Teacher, who I’m pretty sure is the tallest out of the cast? Maybe it’s also the fact that the color that dominates her design is pink, and her complimentary color is baby blue.

So, her design is pretty clearly inspired by sheep/rams, since her pupil is the same shape as them, her braids are coiled up similarly to ram horns, and the bottom of her coat/dress looks like sheep wool. The bell on her bow also looks like the pupil of a sheep, too. I actually had a phase of drawing people with that type of pupil, too, because I thought it looked so interesting and unique. I still think characters with those kind of eyes are pretty cool.

Since her design looks so much like a sheep/ram, you would think that was involved in her talent, however in her eye you can see a little needle. That makes me think she’s a tailor or seamstress or something like that. Perhaps, since wool is a big material used for fabric, she cares for sheep and then makes fabric out of their wool, or something in that vein.

She seems pretty peppy and happy, so I assume she would take on an Eden-esque role in this killing game (Though, I assume, she is actually far different, and likely more naive than Eden is).

Our girl Fire! She is hot, amiright? (Cue the applause). I don’t know what came over me, with that pun. Maybe the spirit of Whit or something.

But no, seriously, she is certainly a… very attractive woman. The snakebite piercings, eyebrow piercings, nose piercings, and bellybutton piercing? Oh my. A win for the girlkissers. A win indeed.

She certainly gives aggressive energy, like she would fight you (and win, obviously. It wouldn’t even be a competition). She looks like she could take Xander. Also!! I really like her teeth, because one of my teeth stick out like that too. I’m pretty sure it’s the one in the exact same spot as her, just mirrored. I’ve always kind of liked it.

Now, her outfit is definitely very sporty, though I’m unsure of which sport exactly. Her abs and chunky gloves give the vibe of something like a boxer or weightlifter, but she also has chaps on. I’m truly unsure if the chaps are just decorative or if she actually does ride horses (I want to say they’re just decorative because white chaps? Not a good idea. No white clothes are really a good idea when you ride horses a lot. Especially if the horses are unruly lol). Plus, she has a lot of skin exposed, and I can say from experience that flies and bugs are a bitch, and there are a lot when horses are involved.

I also just wanted to point out that Fire and Ice (her brother, who I’ll be talking about next) have eyes that are half brown and half grey, and they each have a color palette of either brown or grey and another color (the extra colors are also complimentary). I personally believe this is because the siblings/twins are very different, and likely don’t get along too well, but that’s just a theory. A DRDT theory. I’m mentally unwell, I think.

Hello there!!

Well, as much as I do have studied color and know the technical aspects of it, I have to say that my coloring process comes very much as a gut feeling to me. I just, somehow, "know" what and what won't look good for my standards, and I go and tweak small aspects of my overall idea as I color. I am way more aware of what I'm doing when I'm laying my lines. Color is very much an "I will just trust the process" part of my art, because I am confident I can make it work, that it'll be okay in the end!

That said, I think I can give you a few tips that have helped me pick which I think have helped me pick palettes I personally like!

When it comes to digital art, I tend to pick "prettier" color palettes when I don't color over a plain white background. The colors come out more vibrant and piercing when I use, lets say, a grey background to lay down the base colors. But it doesn't only work with grey; when I use just darker-than-plain-white backgrounds, my color choices tend to look better.

I am also drawn to warmer color palettes, it's just a personal preference; so I tend to use a lot of teal to give my colors a good balance. My favorite color palette to use is the tetradic blue-red/green-orange palette in any of it's many forms.

I probably do more things without noticing that I actually do them, but these are the main ones I can think of. Hope it can be of any use to you!

Random, but I always found Big Baby so cute among the enemy designs - it just looks so squishy and cute!

On an emulator I was able to actually get its Monster egg and had it as a pet, but so far no luck on my LOM HD file, I think it's one of the rarer Aquatic eggs. Also, I think some monsters appear as eggs based off the spirit influence on the location, so it might be my current map is lacking. Don't quote me on this though, a lot of the technical aspects of LOM flies by me haha.

I do wish Big Baby retained its enemy colors as a pet, the violet+green combo is nicer than the orange+purple colors pets have. Pets in general aren't actually too useful in battle admittedly, but I like how they look. I always kept the very first Rabite you hatch (which I now name Riri), and on an old emulator file I eventually got my favorites, a Big Baby, Poto, Sky Dragon and Kid Dragon. Of these, only Sky Dragon is competent in actual battle since their ice breath gives enemies a Snowman status, which also drains health. I always wanted Chocobo, but it only appears if your system detects a FF7 save file, I think? So I'm not sure how to make it appear in LOM HD. On my LOM HD file I almost always bring my dear Riri, and I think the pet AI may have been tweaked a little because I feel like Riri lands attacks more consistently now, but again, not really good on LOM's technical aspects.

Magical Girl Jon au (Sketches)

Explanation and Notes:

Jon grabbed a Leitner which let the Entities speak to him. They mostly send him to stop rituals because they hate each other.

He's still the Ceaseless Watcher's special little boy, but he technically isn't an Eye avatar.

The Eye and Web are both heavily tied to Jon (for fairly obvious reasons) but also they want him as an avatar.

Jon goes by D'Ville when he's stopping rituals, and tries to hide his face so he's not as recognizable. He isn't aware the Stranger helps him. Also his hair is just entirely dark brown without the gray streaks when he's D'Ville.

Jon gets headaches when he ignores the pull of entities. He also did not choose to look like Jonny D'Ville, he was forced into it, but he did willingly accessorize, the mask and goggles were his doing.

Sasha and Martin have no clue Jon is D'Ville, but Tim say D'Ville say "Good Lord" and he was like "THERE IS ONLY ONE MAN WHO STILL SAYS THAT, JON???" So Tim has to help Jon come up with cover stories.

If Martin and Sasha falling for Jon/D'Ville was just a fall, Tim slipped and spiraled down a hill into being in love. L for him though because he knows that both Sasha and Martin are in love with the same man as he is and he knows.

Jon asking them to dinner was kinda supposed to be him asking them on a date but him getting his shit wrecked by the bomb prolonged that.

Jon fell for Tim first, before realizing he also loves Sasha and Martin. He didn't ask Tim out because he wasn't sure on how and was too scared.

Jon was the one that set off the explosion, but because he's god's least favorite he survived but ended up comatosed aw :(

Elias HATES D'Ville and the Eye just won't let him know who D'Ville is. He finds out it's Jon before the Eyepocalypse.

Jon's eyes change colors depending on the entity sent him, and he has corresponding powers he mostly has green eyes and it's actually starting to bleed into his life as Jon since his eyes start to turn Hazel with the ring of green around his eyes due to the Eye sending him out so much

D'Ville is a lot more chaotic than Jon despite being the same guy. Jon wants to be seen as professional and fully qualified for his job. Him as D'Ville...he is much more open to do whatever to get the job done

The assistants are technically busy when Jon's in the coma. Martin is with Peter Lukas, Sasha ends up meeting and working with Annabelle Cane while Tim is trying to see how he can get the archives functional again.

Technically because of D'Ville, Sasha, Martin and Tim are marked by every entity in a way (especially Tim.) In fact it's Tim who ends up forced to start the Eyepocalypse despite not being the Archivist. Due to Jon's coma and Sasha/Martin being out of the picture, Tim is the person taking care of the Archives and basically ends up being in some way an Archivist. Jon and Martin were in the Safehouse while Tim and Sasha were going to head over, but Tim was like "eh I already started reading the statement it won't hurt to finish it."(it did)

The statement did still say "Hello Jon." Which Tim was like "wow fuck you"

Jon technically isn't an Avatar since he didn't die, but he came close a lot. And also when he was in that coma every single entity wanted dibs.

Jon adopted a cat and named her Mr. President. She's a tuxedo cat, but she acts like an orange cat.

Jon still changes when he enters domains.

The au ends HAPPY the Eyepocalypse is STOPPED everything goes back to NORMAL Jon and Martin are FINE and the Archive group gets to go to DINNER

Leitner still gets his dome caved in btw he's dead I just wanted to add that (Elias frames Jon so Jon had to try to live as D'Ville but he only changes when spooky shit is happening)

do you own all of lm montgomery books? where do you keep them all?

this ask sent me prowling through my bookshelf, thank you for that!

I do not own all of LM Montgomery's books - I own ~8 physical copies of novels/short story collections, and I also have a lot of her short stories on Kindle because they used to be free (and maybe still are). Because the vast majority of her books are available online or in libraries, I've never felt the need to purchase them. Funnily enough, because of that, the books I do own are the ones that are less popular since they're harder to find. I have A Tangled Web, The Blythes are Quoted (in ebook form), Magic for Marigold, and I believe at one point I owned the ebook of The Golden Road. Looking at my copies, I'm laughing because the wear and tear on these books reflects a younger batrachised - I read The Story Girl so often as a child that the copy I have literally is held together by duct tape and a prayer, but it's nowhere near my favorite lm montgomery book now.

I am making an effort to get more physical copies because the internet can swallow things quickly, so I will soon be the proud owner of Jane of Lantern Hill and Emily of New Moon. None of these are fancy copies because I manhandle my books too much (see The Story Girl's poor fate, loved to the point of destruction) and bc, tbh, unless the edition has some unique draw (there's a reason i own both the entire collections of the far side and calvin and hobbes), I don't really find it worth it. I'd rather have posters than fancy covers.

As for where I keep them (and I love the underlying implication that I'm swarmed by LM Montgomery books, the where do you even KEEP them ALL?) - I wish I could be an elegant book influencer and pull back a wispy silk curtain to reveal a setup with twinkling lights and color coded book shelves and a giant reading nook next to it and green garlands wreathing it and a leafy plant flourishing on the top flesh for good measure--but my lm montgomery books are unceremoniously shoved to the side of my tiny, messy bookshelf which is as overburdened as obi-wan in the star wars trilogy that's off in the darkest corner of my room - i include this incredibly technical schematic for your satisfaction:

OC-tober week one: Introduction

Doing the OC-tober challenge, prompts by @bweirdart ! I'm going to be posting week by week, I find that this way I don't get as stressed out about missing a day, and might actually complete an October challenge for once!

Day 1: Favorite OC Richard is a character from my project Blood & Time, formerly known as Genesis in Paris. He's a gentle giant and one of those characters that appear really put together but are actually so, so close to being completely unhinged. He's also so Autism. He brings me a lot of comfort and I designed him to be Handsome so of course I love drawing him. He calls his cat the Cat because he can't decide on a name, btw. Day 2: New OC The Creator is a character from my project In a Heartbeat, a vampire-in-high-school story. She's the Old As Hell vampire who turns the main character and antagonist of the story into vampires by accident. The scars on her neck and chest are from a vampire hunt she barely escaped. Technically she's not that new (I started working on IAH in November 2022), but I haven't made new characters since. Day 3: Old OC Aube was probably the first OC I ever designed. She smells like 2008 to me. I was 9 years old and kept drawing her/imagining stories with her until I was around 12. She was super edgy and, of course, a self-insert. She had a romance with Axel Kingdom Hearts (my first real video game crush), but she was NOT a KH oc. Day 4: Re-design Genevya is the main character of my project Blood & Time. I've had her since I was 14, so a decade now (wow. lol). Her design changed a bit here and there, but it didn't really drastically evolve. Recently, with the story and other characters around her growing, I felt like her design felt out of place in the world/too busy. I changed her white hair to streaked brown, and gave her regular eyes instead of heterochromia. Her color palette naturally got warmer, which I feel is fitting since she's a charismatic person. I'm putting her in a lot more greens and golds these days. Overall, I'm very glad I decided on these changes.

These are the only posts I can think of where I was talking about headcanons so fuck it I'm taking this as an opportunity to elaborate on my headcanons

The Phineas one was originally a joke until I saw the episode where they all end up in Paris and Isabella keeps trying to make a move on him and he's just utterly oblivious the whole time and that sealed the deal for me. He is so arospec to me

I headcanon Pinkie Pie as aro because I like the idea of the bubbly and outgoing character being aromantic and all she wants is to throw parties and make her friends happy which is that sort of feel good wholesome aro rep of someone who just loves their friends and hobbies. I originally headcanoned her as aroace but in the timeskip she's married to the Weird Al horse and has a kid. I like to think they're in a qpr so I can keep the aro headcanon

I really love American Idiot and the story it tells and my favorite song on the album by far is St Jimmy. And I think Jimmy is aromantic because I said so. He's a cool character and we need cool aro rep. Sure he's technically not real and also dies but still. Most of my aro headcanons are somewhat logical but not this one. This is just me liking a character and making him aromantic

Clone high JFK just makes sense to me. The original, at least (i have conflicted feelings on the reboot). I know it can come off as a negative stereotype but hear me out. He's aromantic but doesn't know the word for it and he sleeps around cause he likes sex. I don't think that headcanoning the character who sleeps around a lot as aroallo is inherently a bad thing cause he's not like cruel or disrespectful about it. He just enjoys sex and I think we should have aro characters who enjoy sex.

Willow and Hunter are on the list mainly because I saw a lot of people headcanon them as aroace who were upset about them getting together and I thought wait a minute this can be a qpr since unlike Luz and Amity they didn't have an on screen kiss or refer to eachother as girlfriend and boyfriend. And they're green + yellow which is the colors of the aroallo flag.

Just now I'm realizing that I have a lot more aroallo headcanons than aroace even though I am asexual
