It's honestly so impressive atp how sincaraz function as one entity.....like they beat djokovic what was it like the same amount of days since something (I forgot it's that 2000 something number yall know what I'm talking about), they have a tied h2h that just refuses to stay un-tied for long, and now as one of them loses the other withdraws (also a theme with them, they always seem to lose either to each other or in the same round*)

*obviously not always but it's impressive it's so often like the probability of that cannot be *that* high

YES I DO. here are three I've sent around lately plus a bonus jannik character study:

umiltà by niccolos, "canon compliant" (ps is that how people talk about rpf??), gorgeous writing, very sweet get-together from jannik's pov with some lovely lovely moments, i aDORE the restaurant scene specifically but the whole thing is wonderful

sol invictus by lightpirate, which is a Hunger Games AU that I looove, predictably a little dark but very much focused on carlos and jannik as learning more about each other over long distance, specifically through letters. v v good on the other tennis players too!!

that human touch by japrufrocks which concerns both jannik and carlos's recent injury worries, VERY interesting to me because ah!! as japrufrocks themself said: "what if your body was your identity. what if you were only a list of measurements and statistics and achievements. what if your life was honing your body into a tool. and then the tool stops working. WOOF"

also thoughts on jannik/carlos/holger as an entity? i know the need for constant trios in tennis is kind of annoying but they are interesting to me ok

no I totally get that, as much as I hate the need to find a "new big three", trios are SO compelling and well, the three of them have no shortage of compelling dynamics

I actually just made a post about this but carlos and holger being born six days apart is just ridiculous. there had to be some kind of fate involved because WHAT are the chances. that video of them playing doubles when they were kids is so dear to me, and I love how holger is like "yeah you could just tell we were better" because a) that's a very holger thing of him to say and b) is he wrong? no. also the way holger was defending carlos earlier this year just warmed my heart, it's always lovely to see them supporting each other

and ah, jannik and holger. "find the positives." there is not a single tennis player who manages to frustrate jannik quite like holger does and it's just so funny. obviously they had all that monte carlo drama which was just so unnecessary like??? just don't hit the ball at him??? do you know how annoying you have to be to make jannik sinner complain to the umpire. and then there was the atp finals where jannik easily could have tanked to stop novak from making the semis but instead he played an insane epic three setter, after which holger wrote a very long congratulation story and called him a "national hero." and then this year, back in monte carlo... that match had everything. and then of course there were holger's tweets, which weren't directed at jannik but he was definitely involved. they're so funny. "jesus christ 🙄"

and sincaraz. oh sincaraz. I don't think I need to ramble about this one lol, and if I did we'd be here all day

the tennis these three play, both against each other and others, is truly amazing to watch. I'm excited to see how they develop as players and as people in the years to come!

I had two Sincaraz bunnies. I wrote one. You would think this means I have one left.

I have three, possibly four more to write. Because bunnies!

I want to write some post-Carlos getting knocked out of the US Open h/c - because of course, right? (this was the second of the two original bunnies)

I want to write a fun, awkward, messy, first time - because those are always fun

I want to write just a wee PWP - because those pink shorts Carlos wore in practice on the 26th were... inspirational LOL

And I maybe want to play around with language - because as a writer it fascinates me. There are many similarities but also many differences between Italian and Spanish. And they way they both speak English is a fun challenge to write.

So... yeah. And then there's @snowyowlee feeding my muse chocolate.
