Starting a music tag game because Spotify Wrapped sucked:
Make a wrap of your favourite music albums that came out this year (however many!) + one that's not new, but you listened to it for the first time in 2024!
Optional: explain in 1 sentence why you love each of them!
"The Obsession" by Charlotte Wessels is to me the cherry on the top of her solo work (maybe even all of her work) so far - unique, super personal and touching!
Despite being an awful fan (forgot when it was supposed to come out), I was pleased to see that Illumishade's "Another Side of You" shows once again the band members' amazing talent - the lyrics are not as fantasy-themed as in the debut, but the style I can describe only as "cinematic" hits just as hard (I'm still not over the fact that they have a literal film score composer in the band...).
"The Catalyst" was the perfect treat for both old and new Amaranthe fans, what can I say (I think I fall in both categories XD).
"Pirates II Armada" was, surprisingly for me, another example of Visions of Atlantis managing to one-up themselves and create a fun musical journey that has just the right amount of entertaining and touching songs.
"Opera" by Fleshgod Apocalypse really deserved its dramatic name - bombastic, chilling and overall amazing record.
One record I regret not hearing in full sooner is "A Dark Euphony" (2023) by Blackbriar - it's not that I didn't know of the band, but I somehow never really checked their music beyond the one song I liked (Cicada) before seeing them live - after which it's safe to say that I'm not normal about their music. 🥴 *sigh*
The tag is open for everyone, but I want to specifically mention (no pressure for joining 🙂) my treasured supporters of this small blog @do-androids-dream-ao3acc , @sour-cr3am , @severalpossiblemusiks , @emotionally-charged-arson , @hawthorn-crow , @ay-miphae , @a-funeral-pyre , @smolsleepyfox , @sea-of-machines.
Tagging also my fellas @starsirrah , @sunsetroseart , @enbymetalhead , @frenchvani11a , @deep-space-siren and @shanaraharlyah and @akasztofavirag-por! 💚

always funny when a fandom tag overlaps with something else
"oh wow, i really want to see what people are saying about Amaranthe, my favourite pop metal band!"
"oh wow, i really want to see what people are saying about Amaranthe, my favourite ship from the A Court of Thorns and Roses book series!"
narrator voice: this is not going to go well for either of them

Thinking about Ianthe again. Thinking about how she wants justice for Prythian’s women. Thinking about how she probably grew up resenting and fearing the High Lords, despising their very existence but finding them inevitable because of their immense power. Therefore she tried to work through them to try and achieve her goals. But then she saw what Amarantha did, hoodwinking the High Lords to remain under her command. And she realized that the High Lords are not invulnerable, that they can be destroyed, that her goals were achievable. Thinking about how she probably admired Amarantha, fucked up though her methods may have been.
Anyway I think Ianthe and Amarantha should kiss.

Another Norn piece! This time based on lyrics from Damnation Flame by Amaranthe.

The Phyrexian on either side is translated to the best of my ability, but since we don't have those exact words in Phyrexian, it came out as "her ichor-source is glorious obliteration," which still bangs hard if you ask me.
