Election news: Voting for the bypolls to 11 Assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh began on Monday morning amid tight security.

Polling began at 7 a.m. and will continue till to 6 p.m.

Eight of the 11 seats were held earlier by the BJP and one by BJP ally Apna Dal (Sonelal). The seats of Rampur and Jalalpur (Ambedkarnagar) were held by the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party, respectively.

Arunima sinha – From will to way

You all must have gone through the articles of different people who successfully completed the Mount Everest Summit. Has anyone ever thought of that even a handicapped girl can do so?

This has been converted into reality by a 30 years old a national level volleyball player Arunima Sinha from Ambedkarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.



On 11 April 2011, a gang of robbers threw her out of the moving train because of her denial to give gold chain which she was wearing, nobody present there in the train compartment tried to help her, she was stuck in the train tracks, almost for about 7 hours with a broken leg and the blood was flowing profusely. She was in her consciousness but there was nobody movement. Instead of losing hope, the only thought in her mind was that how can she save herself?

The next day early morning some of the villagers took her to the Bareilly District Hospital, UP. All doctors or pharmacists present there have lost their hope to do the treatment due to lack of anesthesia and blood but seeing her strength they donated their own blood units and successfully completed the surgery, in which her one leg was replaced by an artificial leg and a rod was being in another one. After that, she was shifted to AIIMS and because of being a national champion, she was being provided with good treatment.



When this happening came out in media, a lot of rumors were roll out all over the world and She was tired of people looking at her with pity in their eyes, that day she decided to prove her and chose mountaineering but as we all know it takes tenacity for doing this, so when she put her thought of going for Everest Summit amongst the people, the only thing she faced was a refusal. In spite of all this, she didn’t lose her hope and her spirit of fighting and conquering obstacles made her accomplish her dream.

After being discharged from the hospital she directly visited Bachendari Pal for guidance and assistance which was her first step towards her target as the only thought in her mind at that time was to give the answer to all those people who considered her feeble.

She finally began her journey towards her aim. She faced a lot of difficulties like it took her 3-4 hours to cover the distance of 2 minutes, and her leg start to bleed but this all didn’t make her weak instead this made her tough as nothing could falter her from her dream.



On the day of the Summit when she was very close to her dream, Sherpa gave her terrible news that their oxygen levels are quickly exhausting and they have to go back but this brave woman remained firm and finally with the help of Sherpa after two hours at 10:55 A.M on 21 May 2013 she was at the top of Mount Everest. The 7 minutes spend by her at the top were the most precious and best moments of her life.

She has proved that one can be handicapped from his/her body but not from the mind and with your determination you can do wonders in your life!
