Maharashtra Kids Sex Abuse Updates: Protest by Parents and Locals Turned into Violence
Tumblr media
Maharashtra School Molestation News Updates: Angry dad and mom of faculty children and locals stage big protest at Badlapur railway station in Maharashtra’s Thane district after women have been allegedly sexually abused via an attendant appointed by the school authorities. Thousands of indignant parents and neighborhood residents blocked the route of trains to draw the attention of the management towards their demands.
Due to the protests, motion of trains on up and down routes has been affected given that around eight am. On August 17, police arrested a college attendant for abusing two girls, aged three and 4, studying in kindergarten. According to the criticism, he abused the women in the faculty lavatory.
Taking cognizance of the incident, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde said that he has directed the police to register a case of attempt to rape against the accused. He also said that the case will be heard expeditiously and a special public prosecutor will be appointed for the case. Meanwhile, Shinde’s deputy Devendra Fadnavis said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Inspector General Aarti Singh will investigate the incident.
The girls told their parents that the attendant had touched them inappropriately, following which the parents had to go to the police station and file a complaint against him. The police later registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, which led to his arrest.

🦑 Nemo's Fury 2: Octo War 🦑
Tumblr media
There's a sequel, my lovelies!
When I saw "Nemo's Fury 2: Octo War" would involve a race of advanced, intelligent cephalopods called "Octopoids," my thought was, "My, that's...creative."
Tumblr media
Perhaps a bit corny. Perhaps a bit cheesy. That being said, you know what else is corny and cheesy? Elote. Having grown up on a steady diet of Doctor Who and TOS Star Trek, I'm not one to judge. So just as at every local fair I make a beeline for the nearest elote stall, I enthusiastically made a beeline for Amazon to download "Nemo's Fury 2" onto my Kindle, metaphorical bottle of Tajin in hand.
Tumblr media
Premise:
While "Nemo's Fury 2" takes place after the events of the first book, it's formatted as a standalone adventure so that the player doesn't need to have played the first book to follow along and enjoy it.
After having left the Nautilus, you (Irish-American journalist T.K. O'Connor), are picked up by another submarine, this one belonging to the navy of the Indian kingdom of Maharashtra. Maharashtra possesses submarines even more advanced than "The Nautilus," throwing onto question Captain Nemo's personal innovation. (Has he taken more credit for naval technology than is actually due him?!)
Tumblr media
Because of your experience onboard the Nautilus, you're drafted into Maharashtra Navy and are sent to salvage a derelict submarine to get it operational once more. Along the way, you reconnect with some familiar characters, pilot a submarine and uncover a genocidal conspiracy which you set out to stop before it's too late!
As for the “Octopoids,” I didn’t think they were terribly corny. (Let me reiterate that "Alfa 177 canine" was seared into my memory at a young age.) In fact, the Octopoids are rather mysterious and I’m left wanting to know more about them. Space aliens are overrated anyway: it’s about time we had some ocean aliens. I, for one, am here for sentient sea life á la “Star Trek: The Voyage Home.”
Tumblr media
Gameplay:
Like the first book, the gameplay of "Nemo's Fury 2" is a sort of hybrid between a "choose your own adventure" book and a DnD-type solo rpg. All that’s needed to play is pencil, paper and two six-sided dice.
There are added stats and rules in this book relating to navigating the submarine, repairing it, piloting it, etc, as well as additional hazards such as radiation poisoning and encountering a colorful menagerie of sea monsters. These new rules and game mechanics add more complexity to the gameplay, making it interesting and fun.
Tumblr media
Other notes:
-> I personally preferred the storyline of the first book to the second; It felt a bit more composite. On the other hand, I enjoyed the gameplay of "Nemo’s Fury 2" and thought it was cleverly set up and more complex than the first. You might just have to purchase both to see if you prefer one over the other.
Tumblr media
-> In the “Nemo’s Fury” game app, more of Captain Nemo’s backstory was explained than in the book version. Only having played the book version, I was left a little confused by how different he was from the the severely depressed middle-aged widower we've come to know and love.
A little more insight into Nemo's past was revealed in “Nemo’s Fury 2,” divulging a story very different from cannon. Avoiding spoilers, this Captain Nemo is in his late 20’s, never married and has serious mommy issues as well as deeply concerning personality disorders which, incidentally, was also the backstory of most of my college classmates.
Tumblr media
I don’t necessarily mind a writer changing up a character, but I wish I’d understood right away in the first book that this was a different Captain Nemo than the one I’d expected. The exposition in "Nemo’s Fury 2" actually explained a lot about the first book retrospectively.
This different depiction of Captain Nemo, while angstier, is still objectively interesting and makes for an intriguing antagonistic character on the game's storyline.
In conclusion, "Nemo's Fury 2: Octo War" was an enjoyable sequel and left me eagerly awaiting part three!

Sunrise trek to Konkan Kada at Harishchandragad
6-7 January 2024 - with a trekking group - embarked on a night trek to reach the top at sunrise. 2024 begins with a bang.
Tumblr media
TIME FRAME:
Saturday night: Second last train from Dadar. Sunday night: Alight at Kasara. Shared non-AC jeep journey from Kasara to Pachnai (base village) from 2 am to 4:30 am. Sunday morning: 5 am trek starts 7 am reach Harishchandragad top, where Taramati blocks the East. Sightseeing of the fort till 10:30 after breakfast of tea and poha. 11 am to 2 pm return trek. 2:30 to 4:30 pm return travel in jeep to Kasara. 5:15 pm to 8pm return journey to reach home. EXPENSES: 1000/- per head with a trekking group, that included travel expenses from Dadar to Kasara and back, with breakfast of tea and poha.
EXPERIENCE in photos and a few words:
The build up to sunrise was a beautiful experience. The waning crescent moon and the Venus were getting ready for the conjunction on 9th January 2024.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
The east of Harishchandragad top is blocked by the third highest peak of Maharashtra, Taramati.
Tumblr media
The hidden sunrise: Sunrise happened behind this mountain's massif and to witness the sun rise from Harishchandragad, one has to climb Taramati peak.
Check more photos of the sunrise at Harishchandragad here.

On the left of this temple in the east direction is a reservoir by the names, PUSHKARNI KUND, whose photo is added below.

KOKANKADA कोकणकडा :
The famous overhanging cliff, whose view sends chill down the spine and is extremely beautiful was visited. Please check the above hyperlinked text for more photos here.
Tumblr media
Nalli-chi vaat (नळीची वाट) is a thrilling adventurous rock climbing ascent to Harishchandragad from the valley below, that is visible from this cliff here.
Tumblr media
Enjoying the view from Kokankada.
Tumblr media
I saw a lot of flowers while trekking here. The Karvi, which blossoms once in 7 years has started blooming.
Tumblr media
I saw the plant that resembles the bed of arrows, upon whom Bhishma Pitamah, was laid by Arjun the great archer, at Kurukshetra in Mahabharata. The genus is Bridelia. Species is unkown to the friend who identified and told the above story. DrSR is a PhD Botany & an assistant professor in college. The plant is known commonly as BHISHMA-SAN (seat of BHeeshma Pitamah).
Tumblr media
The above video is a demostration of why this tiny pretty flower is known as LADY'S PURSE. Just like a woman's purse hides its content from the prying eyes, same way the petal hides the anther and is visible by prying the petal delicately.
Overall, a good start to 2024.
P.S. There are many links to photos of different places at Harishchandragad. Hope you check them all. There is not enough space in one blog post.

Heavy Rain In Mumbai, 50 Flights Cancelled, Train Services Hit, Schools Shut
Heavy rains have hit Mumbai and its surrounding areas in the last 24 hours leading to widespread waterlogging and suburban train services. Some areas in the city have recorded over 300 mm of rainfall within six hours from 1 am to 7 am on Monday.
Tumblr media
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and the Konkan belt. Vikhroli's Veer Savarkar Marg Municipal School and MCMCR Powai saw the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as over 315 mm of rainfall was recorded.
Over 50 flights have been cancelled due to the downpour. Several airlines took to X (formerly Twitter) to warn passengers and urged them to check flight status before leaving for the airport.
Visuals from across the city showed people wading through waist-deep waters and cars lined bumper to bumper on Mumbai roads. All government, private and municipal schools and colleges have been shut across the city.
At Dombivli station, people waited for trains on submerged tracks. Water-logging was reported from Worli, Buntara Bhavan, in Kurla East, King's Circle area of Mumbai, Dadar and Vidyavihar Railway Station. Over 30 lakh commuters use the suburban local train services in Mumbai and neighbouring Thane, Palghar and Raigad every day.
Train services between Kasara and Titwala stations in Thane district were suspended after soil covered the tracks between Atgaon and Thansit stations, disrupting rail traffic on the busy Kalyan-Kasara route, they said.
The tracks were declared unsafe at around 6.30 am, the official said.
Officials have said if the rain stops for over two hours the waterlogging will subside but the weather office has predicted heavy rain throughout the day. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai today.
Sea waves of 4.4 meters are expected at high tide around 2 pm.
Several trains were diverted, rescheduled or terminated due to waterlogging between Kalyan and Kasara stations of Mumbai division.
Due to heavy rainfall and flash floods on the Vasind-Khardi section between 3 am and 6 am, the track embankment got damaged, officials told news agency PTI.
As of now, several teams of NDRF are deployed in Thane, Vasai ( Palghar), Mahad (Raigad), Chiplun (Ratnagiri), Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara Ghatkopar, Kurla and Sindhudurg.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rescued 49 people from a water-logged resort in Maharashtra's Thane and 16 villagers in Palghar. They used boats and life jackets to rescue people stranded at the resort due to flooding.

There's a flickering hope, that I shall heal. Flickering, but intact. Flickering, but confident.
Two days since my college began, and I already caught dysentary with a terrible fluke of cold. This is what I get, I guess- for having shunned myself down for the last 2-3 months in my home. This is what I get- for falling into my guilty pleasure and asking for a spicy frankie. I really regret having it; hadn't it been for the frankie, The hope would have never flickered.
As much as I adore my brain, and its maze-y thoughts, I also despise how tricky it gets at time, to get out of the maze. I despise how I always have to look out for the hope- for it to keep flying. I admire the mazes I make, and I equally despise how I get lost in them. It isn't that I despise getting lost- what I despise is not being able to find a way after getting lost.
There's an apparition, more likely a ghost- Chakwa, in the Konkan district of southern Maharashtra. The ghost seems to play tricks with the travellers at night. It seems to make them lose their way- and come back to the same spot from where they left repeatedly. In some cases, it is also said to have led the travellers to the sea, or river-side. I find it easy for the travellers- they can convienently blame the ghost for losing their way.
I terribly beg to differ from all of this, as whom do I blame? Whom do I held accountable for? I am the Chakwa in my mishaped maze- I am the sole apparition playing tricks on myself. To get out of Konkan is relatively easy; how do I get out of the maze that I created in my mind?

Maharashtra, a diverse and culturally rich state in western India, houses numerous prestigious aerospace engineering institutions. These institutions encompass both private and government colleges, each with its own unique advantages.
Government colleges in Maharashtra often come with a strong academic tradition and are favored by many students. They offer a quality education at a reasonable cost, making it accessible to a broader spectrum of students. Government institutions also benefit from government funding and frequently collaborate with leading industry players, enriching the overall learning experience.
Private colleges in Maharashtra are known for their modern facilities, innovative teaching methods, and strong industry connections. Although they may have a higher tuition fee, many of them offer scholarships and financial aid to assist students in managing their expenses. Private institutions often provide a wider array of courses and greater flexibility in curriculum, allowing students to tailor their education to their specific interests and career goals.
