Hi! I would love to hear your analysis of Amelink! What do you see as Amelia and Link'a similarities? In what ways are their personalities different? Are you surprised that the writers moved on from them or did you expect them to be endgame? I'm excited to read your responses!
(thank you for the ask!)
…Does Link even have a personality at this point?
I’m mostly being sarcastic but tbh I can’t see a whole bunch of things I’d describe Link as that aren’t so generic even a dating profile would be more in-depth.
I liked Amelink well enough (their beginning was PHENOMENAL and so sweet and I thought they had all the potential to be The It couple) (althought I do gotta add I shipped them fort he same reason I shipped Merlink quite strongly: He’s A Good Man who’d bring some sparkle and light into the life of one of my “dark and twisty” faves) and if they’d stayed making each other happy, I’d have been pleased for them to stay together, and I did think we were gearing up for them as endgame. I loved that both their personalities were explicitly shaped by childhood trauma but in such distinct ways, I love that it gave Amy experience and… Wisened her? While it gave Link a will to fight, a. surety in the possibility of regrowth. I mean, even their specialties reflect that? The rigid, precise control you gotta have with Neuro vs how ortho is so intrinsically tied with self-regeneration and movement. However, the writers apparently took Link from “sunshine golden retriever sweetheart” (which was shallow but consistent) to “single-minded entitled man-child” in one fell swoop and left very little for me to cheer for, and although they seem to have fixed that, it just isn’t the way to repair them as a couple.
I have empathy for his position, honestly, I see where he’s coming from in a lot of their conflicts (Like, I had a “?” face throughout the whole time Amelia was villanizing him for… not wanting to potentially raise someone else’s child?, I get that he wanted to marry Amy and was in love with her and that from his perspective (at least initially) her refusal must have stung and confused him), I understand what he was trying to get at with regards to him drinking during covid/quarentine even if he was not expressing it in a kind way) so it’s less that I think he’s necessarily bad for her and more that they’d have to eternally be fighting off resentment of each other.
Plus, while if I was, for examplec writting fic before Kai showed up and stole mine and Amelia’s hearts, I’d have put them together and ignored their breakdown, I really do love Kaimelia and see potential in Jolink and in letting Link branch. out as his own character more.
You know that TS song that goes “he was sunshine I was midnight rain”? I think that fits them very well. Beautiful aesthetics, can be made to work well together within a narrative but ultimately weren’t.

HEY, PLEASE YOU CAN WRITE THE 18x06 APART OF THE SOFA... (YOU KNOW) PLEAAASEEEE
Reconnecting
A/N: Hi! Sorry for not posting in a while, I've been really busy and unmotivated! But, I enjoyed 18x06 Amelink so, here we go! WARNING: SMUT!
"Link, nothing has changed for me." Amelia states, catching her breath from the kisses they just shared.
Link scans her face as she stares at him. He drops his eyes down to look at where she was sat on his lap, holding her close against his body. Moments later, before either of them really had the time to process what they were about to do, Link leans forward and reconnects their lips. He holds an arm around her back to support her as they fall back onto the couch.
Amelia's fingers run through Link's hair as the kiss deepens, their lips only parting for air. Link runs a hand down Amelia's side, stopping when he gets to the waistband of her jeans to slip his hand under her shirt. He softly runs his fingers across her torso before resting his hand underneath her breast against her ribs. The kiss is desperate, like they'd both been wanting to do it for months and like neither of them wanted it to end.
A moment later, from under his larger body, Amelia reaches her hands around Link's back and begins tugging on the hem of his shirt, signalling for him to take it off. Taking the hint, Link pulled away from the kiss and sat up, his knees on either side of her body as he pulled his sweater and shirt over his head and tossed it onto the floor. Before leaning back down, he began unbuttoning Amelia's shirt and pulled it from her body. After throwing it to the floor, Link leans back over her and begins kissing down her neck. He continues kissing down her body, taking her nipple into her mouth causing her to moan quietly.
"Link, please." she begs, not wanting to wait another moment.
Carefully, Link rolls off of her body and stands up. He makes light work of pulling off his jeans and boxers, letting his erection spring free as Amelia watches with a smirk on her face. He suddenly reaches forward and grabs hold of Amelia's ankles, pulling her towards him. He turns her body around and pulls her gently to the edge of the couch before unbuttoning her jeans and dragging them off of her body.
Seconds after discarding her pants, Link had Amelia's legs parted and over his shoulders. His head was placed between them as he dove in, finding her clit with his tongue straight away. Amelia lets out a moan as Link swirls his tongue repeatedly around her sensitive nub before pushing it inside her for a moment. Amelia throws her head back in pleasure and runs her fingers through Link's hair, willing him not to stop. She almost squeals as he takes her clit into his mouth and starts sucking on it. Not stopping his task, Link lifts his eyes to watch the pleasure on her face; he'd missed that, he'd missed her.
When he could tell she was getting close, Link pulled away. After standing back up, he lunges forward and pulls Amelia up off the couch and into his arms. He holds a hand around her back to support her and he turns them around and sits down on the couch. Link readjusts Amelia on his lap so her legs were placed on either side of his body as she hovers over his erection. Wasting no time, she begins to sink down, causing them both to moan simultaneously. After taking all of him inside her, Amelia holds still, allowing herself a second to adjust. She leans her head against his, connecting their lips in another passionate kiss. Pulling away, she whispers against his lips, "You feel so good.".
Unable to take it anymore, Link places his hands on her hips and begins guiding her up and down his cock. The pace is slow at first but the desperation quickly takes over as they begin to speed up. Amelia grinds her hips against him as she slides herself up and down his erection, moaning with every movement.
"Fuck." she groans, throwing her head back and arching her back, "I need more. Please."
Making sure to not slip out of her, Link holds Amelia against him as he stands up and flips them over. He gently places her down on the couch, pushing her legs back into her chest so her ass lifts up, deepening the angle for them both. Link begins thrusting again, his pace faster this time. The sound of their skin slapping quickly begins to fill the room. He holds her ankles as he thrusts, keeping the angle just right and allowing him to hit her g-spot the way he knows drives her crazy.
"Oh god, Link." Amelia cries, completely overwhelmed by the pleasure she was feeling, "Harder."
Picking up the momentum to fulfil her request, Link began pounding into her. The two of them were moaning louder now as they near the edge. He pushes her legs back further as she begins arching her back. Reaching a hand between them, his fingers make contact with her sensitive clit, rubbing gentle circles into it.
"Oh, fuck, Amelia." Link groans , feeling his climax building.
Amelia's mouth falls open, the pleasure becoming so overwhelming that her moans become silent. Link continues pounding into her, pulling his full length out before pushing back in whilst simultaneously rubbing circles on her clit.
"Oh, my god." Amelia says breathlessly, "Keep going, I'm gonna cum."
"Fuck, me too." Link groans as Amelia begins grinding her hips in circles against him. The new sensation accelerating his climax.
"Do you mind if I-?" he asks, not wanting to assume anything, "Do it."
A moment later, Amelia was arching her back and moaning loudly as she came, her body shaking under him. The combination of watching her climax and the feeling of her walls tightening around his cock, sets off Link's own high. He groans loudly as he pushes himself deep inside her one more time before releasing inside her.
A few minutes later, Link had pulled out and joined Amelia on the couch. Her head was resting on his chest as they catch their breath and cool down in comfortable silence. In that moment, it felt like nothing had changed, like none of the bad stuff had happened. In that moment, it felt like them.
"That was maybe a bad idea." Amelia says, chuckling a little as she lifts her head to look up at him, "Maybe."
"But, god, I missed this." Link says softly, smiling at her. Amelia places her head back on his chest quietly,
"Me too."

Take A Chance On Me- Part 1.
A girl with brown straight hair and hazel eyes sat in the office of the head master in Children’s Home of Washington.
She was 15 and what the staff of the orphanage would say is past the age of anyone ever adopting you. Most workers at the home couldn’t stand her. For reasons she absolutely knew, but could care less about.
“Florence?” The head master’s voice interrupted the music playing through the earbuds as Florence annoyingly sat up.
“Yes?” Florence forced a fake smile, as she took the music out of her ears placing it on the bed.
“Surprisingly there is a family here that wants a teenager for some reason. You happen to be alphabetically first on our list, so get up and put something nice on.” Headmaster Lawrence instructed, turning on her high heels and walking out of the large bedroom Florence was in with the other girls.
Did we also mention the home Florence found herself in also doubled as a school? Lovely wasn’t it.
Florence reluctantly rolled off the bed and opened the trunk at the foot. Pulling out orange corduroy pants, a black shirt sleeve shirt that resembled a turtle neck at the top, and black platform leather boots.
Florence tied her hair into a dutch braid down her back and placed the various vintage rings she owned onto her fingers as she shoved her phone into her pocket and ran to the staircase.
She met Mrs. Lawrence at the bottom adjusting her posture, raising her dark eyebrow for approval.
“You could have chosen something more lady like, you need to make sure these people want you.” Mrs. Lawrence said before walking towards the office prompting Florence to follow her.
“Lady like my ass.” Florence grumbled, her hazel eyes rolling as she trudged behind Mrs. Lawrence the sound of her boots hitting the old wood.
“Okay Dr. Lincoln, Dr. Shepherd this is Florence. She’s 15, a phenomenal student and quite the personality.” Mrs. Lawrence spoke to Amelia and Link as Florence entered placing her ringed hands into her pockets.
“Hi.” Amelia smiled, Link’s hand resting over hers as they sat in the office chairs.
“Hey.” Florence spoke, receiving a stern look from Mrs. Lawrence due to the fact she didn’t hold her hand out for them.
“I will leave you 3 be, I’m outside if you need anything.” Mrs. Lawrence gave a fake smile, that Florence saw directly through as she closed the door.
“So your name is Florence. Can I ask where it came from?” Amelia asked, smiling kindly as Florence sat in the desk across from the two adults.
“The city. I was named after the city in Italy.” Florence said proudly. She had always admired her name, it was different and it made her special.
“That’s cool. Well I’m Link and this is Amelia. So tell us anything about you or ask us anything.” Link said wrapping his arm around Amelia.
Dear god help me. Florence thought to herself, this was the most cliche thing she had ever seen. Like they were too in love for it to be normal.
“Why do you want me?” Florence bluntly asked, her leg crossed as she leaned into the large chair behind her.
“Excuse me?” Amelia chuckled, not quite sure what Florence meant and not wanting to hurt her feelings.
“Like no one asks for kids over the age of probably 6 here and I’m 15 so what on this green earth would make you guys want me?” Florence chuckled, fidgeting with one of the glass rings on her fingers.
“Well we already have a baby. And we recently got told we might not be able to have anymore kids of our own so we looked into adoption. You were the first child they placed us with and we just thought you sounded interesting.” Amelia shrugged, the dimple in her cheek visible as she spoke.
“Okayyy then. Well about myself. My parents died in a fire, so here I am. My favorite music artist is ABBA or anything from the 70’s. I like to read Jane Austen and I like to paint and draw.” Florence said, her eyebrow raised as she spoke.
“That’s cool. I told Amelia when you walked in that your outfit was really neat.” Link smiled, Florence instantly having to hold in her laughter of being called “neat”.
“Thanks. I appreciate that. So you have a baby?” Florence asked, walking around to sit on the desk.
“Yes. Scout hes about 7 months.” Amelia said pulling out her phone to show Florence. Florence leaned forwards smirking at the photo.
“Cute. So why exactly would you want a teenager with a baby? You’ll experience his teenage years eventually.” Florence asked, no attitude in her voice just genuine question.
Florence was enjoying herself, if Mrs. Lawrence was in with her then she would have gotten a talking to about her ruining her chances of being adopted by this very nice family.
“You seemed appealing. I have a niece a few years younger than you and I’ve fostered a teenager before and I enjoyed it.” Amelia said, not going to mention to Florence that Betty was also a drug addict, teen mother that she fostered.
“Is that a tattoo?” Link asked, noticing the black writing on the part of Florence’s arm a little below the side of her wrist.
“Oh yeah, kind of.” Florence chuckled running her fingers over the ink on her wrist.
“What does it say?” Amelia asked as Florence flashed her wrist toward Amelia.
“Divine, my darling. My mother used to tell me that.” Florence said, her eyebrows raising.
Mrs. Lawrence came back in causing Florence to look at her with an annoyed face.
“I hate to interrupt but theres another family here to speak to Florence it seems so-“ Mrs. Lawrence said as she picked up Florence’s file.
“No need. We loved her. Where do we sign?” Link smiled, causing Florence’s mouth to fall to the floor.
“Oh I’ll get the papers and well Miss Florence, you can go collect your things.” Mrs. Lawrence said in surprise, Florence slowly nodding and walking out of the room.
Her mind was confused, why on earth would a couple with a baby want a random teenager in an orphanage.

Coming Home (part two)
synopsis: amelia and addison talk about link and shared in ways they've never done with other people.
“You didn't tell me you were coming to Seattle.” Amelia said as she helped Addison with her bags.
“You didn't tell me you had a brain tumor.”
Addison was already crossing her arms, watching Amelia's reaction now that she knows.
“Fair.” Addison scoffed at what she said and stopped her from walking to the driver's seat. “No, not fair!” She argued
“You had a brain tumor, Amelia. I wasn't there for you. The practice wasn't there for you, that's not fair.” Addison lowered her voice, trying not to disturb her nephew from sleeping.
“I came here expecting I'd surprise you somehow but I'm the one who's obviously surprised here. We called days ago and you didn't bother to tell me your baby daddy proposed?” She continued
“I can't really tell you everything, can I?”
“And why's that?“ Addison asked with her furrowed brows, genuinely wanting an answer from Amelia.
“Because.”
Addison was blocking the door to the driver's seat and she wasn't planning on moving any time soon.
“That's a very lame excuse. We're not done talking.” She said and finally moved to her side. “I miss you too!” Amelia chuckled as she watched her trudge to the passenger's seat.
Addison already has a hotel room booked nearby. She's staying there for a while until she's done with her work in Seattle. The next morning, both of them entered the hospital together. As usual, Addison was a head turner — despite everyone being busy, she was able to catch their attention. “I really should get used to that.” Amelia said, slowly getting shy at how almost everyone was looking at them.
“Oh, I got paged for a consult.” Addison pouted as morning coffee got crossed out from their plans. “This early? Oh you're so in demand.” Amelia said with a hint of sarcasm that made her roll the eyes.
“I'll see both of you later.” Addison said, kissing Scout on the cheeks. “I'll see you later, okay?” She repeated but with her baby voice this time.
Addison headed to the patient's room and was surprised to see a familiar face inside.
“Good morning.” She greeted, smiling at everyone.
She was staring at this particular person as he was also surprised to see her there. “You must be Atticus Lincoln.” She continued and offered to shake hands.
Link recognized her, of course he would. Amelia basically has a picture frame of them in her room and aside from that, they call each other often.
It was an awkward first meeting that left him quiet for a while. He stood there beside Jo who was having a fan girl moment with Addison. Link could literally see the heart eyes forming while she listened to her. “I thought you paged Carina.” He whispered
“I did but she was taking a day off.”
“Dr. Lincoln will handle the tibia and fibula diaphysial fracture, while I monitor your baby. It's going to be fine.” Addison assured them and asked Jo to book an OR.
The surgery was doing well so far. There wasn't anything alarming going on as they made all the right calls for both the mother and the baby.
“How is she, by the way?” Addison asked in the middle of their surgery.
“Uh, her vitals are normal—”
“I meant Amelia.” She interrupted and looked him in the eyes. Jo, who was assisting Addison, got worried for him but she couldn't really say something about it.
“I'm not here to pry, I'm genuinely asking.” She continued.
“I... We haven't talked that much recently.” Link said, clearing his throat in between sentences, assuming Addison knew about the proposal.
She thought that was the only response she'd get, but Link spoke again. “She's a great mother to Scout... That word even is an understatement as to how she is with him. I really couldn't ask for a better partner to raise our son with.” He continued
It wasn't visible behind their masks but Addison was smiling from those words. What he said somehow warmed her heart.
But like what she told him, Addison wasn't there to pry. She stopped asking right after that and focused on the surgery.
It took longer than they've expected and it even had a few complications along the way but they still managed to finish it successfully. The baby was fine, and the mother was stable. They still need to check on her from time to time, but at the moment, she's comfortable.
Link went ahead to update the husband while Addison walked her way to the attending's lounge, looking all tired and ready to sleep.
“Hey, busy day?” Amelia appeared beside her. Although she was tired, she still managed to smile at her sister.
“I just spent the entire day with your baby daddy.” She said
“Addison—”
“What? I didn't scare him away, don't worry.” Addison assured her. Amelia couldn't tell if she was telling the truth considering how Addison could be intimidating sometimes but she also realized that if Link's distant—which he already is—it's definitely not because of Addison.
“Well, he's already avoiding me.” The lounge was empty when they arrived and Addison took it as an opportunity to finally have a conversation with her. “He seems like a great guy, Amelia. I can tell he's a great father too.” She said
“No, he's the best. I couldn't ask for a better partner in raising Scout. You should see how he sings him to sleep.”
Addison smiled from ear to ear that made Amelia question every word she said. She gave her a look asking what was funny and Addison shook her head slowly. “Nothing. He said the same thing about you.” She explained
“Wait, you talked to him about me?”
“I just asked one thing, relax.” Amelia glared at her for a while, trying to figure out if she was telling the truth but it really didn't bother her that much. She saw it coming. She hasn't told her a thing, so it was to be expected that Addison would ask around.
“C'mon, spit it out.” Amelia noticed the silence in the room and immediately knew what was inside Addison's head.
She was just staring at her, thinking. It eventually forced Amelia to initiate the conversation. “I didn't tell you I had a brain tumor because I thought I wouldn't make it.” She started out blunt.
“And that's supposed to make me feel better?!” Addison said in shock as her brows practically met each other.
“Well to be fair, I didn't tell my family.” She said hoping it would somehow make Addison feel better but it didn't, instead her mouth dropped open in disbelief.
“Look, I thought I was gonna be gorked and I didn't want your last memory of me in person to be that way. I'd rather choose that 30-minute ride to the airport where you nagged at me all night for leaving James and the practice — that was better.” Amelia rattled off, causing Addison to laugh a little. It made her laugh too, and she hasn't genuinely laughed that much since.
“Still, you should have called me. I would have taken care of you anyway.” Addison said
“I know.” Amelia smiled and realized that other than the brain tumor, she hadn't kept a secret from her until recently and she's quite sure the conversation was heading there.
“And the proposal?” Addison asked when it felt like the right time to be talking about whatever went wrong between her and Link.
“Well...” Amelia started playing with her fingers, as she thought of her next words.
“How did you know that you were ready to marry Jake?” She genuinely asked that made Addison think. It wasn't a hard question, in fact she already has an answer in mind but before she could even say it, Amelia continued talking. “Because you were ready, right?
Addison was going to say that she's too in love with Jake and that it would be a waste to let him go — not to mention the early breakfasts in bed, but sure, what Amelia said made more sense than what she had in mind.
“It took all my energy to stay sober last year. Unlike other people, I can't go running to a glass of wine, because then it would become a bottle, and then another bottle, and then another one.” She continued
“And then when I thought I finally had a grip of myself, he said he wanted to have more kids.” Amelia took several deep breaths in between sentences that made Addison realize how unbearable that was for her.
“I spent the entire pandemic taking care of four kids — three of which are not my own, and I was barely holding on. If he wasn't there, I would have lost it, Addison.” Amelia said with a more serious tone.
“I couldn't do it. Every day felt like I was drowning seeing him imagine this whole perfect future together, and I couldn't really tell him that, because it was nice... Until you face reality — It was nice until I realized some of it weren't for me.” Even from a distance, Addison could see how Amelia's eyes glowed as her tears started to form around it.
“It got worse after that.” She said, forcing a laugh while wiping her tears. “He proposed — several rings, with kids watching, at someone else's wedding — that was my last straw.”
Maybe the reason Amelia hadn't talked to anyone about it was because she never expected it to hurt this much. She was trying so hard to hold herself together in front of Addison and it's taking quite a lot of energy.
“I don't know if that's selfish, but saying no felt right.” She added.
Addison stood up and sat beside Amelia, holding her hands firmly which made it more real and quite emotional for her.
“I love him too much that I fear I might not recover when our marriage goes downhill, which it would because it's not something both of us wanted. And I'm starting to love myself more by choosing not to go down that road and see what would happen, especially when I'm not ready.” Amelia said. “I still want us to work, you know. I tried telling him, he's not listening.“ She continued.
”Why didn't you tell me this?” She asked, running her hand behind her sister's back.
“You proposed to Jake — with no rings and an audience — look how that went. You guys are still happily married.” She pouted at her.
“And maybe I was afraid that these are all in my head. Besides, I was doing well before it... I didn't want you to worry.” Amelia added.
Addison gestured for Amelia to lean on her shoulder, which she hesitated but she missed it so much. “First of all, this is not all in your head — it's scary, but it's real. What you're feeling? that's real.” Addison acknowledged her emotions.
“Marriage... It doesn't always seal the deal. It's not always a choice in deciding to spend a lifetime together.”
“I tried telling him that, subtle and quite literally.” Amelia told her.
“And you're right about that. A paper acknowledging your bond together doesn't always mean validation, and that's coming from me who has experienced both failed and successful marriages.“ Addison wasn't joking but Amelia laughed a little knowing that the failed marriage was with her late brother.
“That doesn't make you selfish, Amelia. Choosing yourself for yourself, that's not selfish and I'm proud of you.” Addison continued, making her feel valid.
“You're just saying that to make me feel better.” Amelia half joked and glanced at Addison. ”I'm serious.” She replied, smacking her arm slightly.
”I might be miles away before until now, but that did not mean I was less proud. I've always been proud, maybe even the proudest.” Addison continued.
Amelia smiled from what she said. This is why Addison will always be the better sister she's ever gotten. Amelia would sometimes think how it's kind of funny that people who she's not related to felt more of a family to her than the ones she had.
“I miss this.” She admitted, leaning closer to her sister. “I've missed you, Addie.” She whispered
sorry the update took a while, i wanted to have a separate fic for when addison and amelia would talk about link but decided to keep it here instead. this is what i've imagined their “beautiful scenes” and “sharing to each other the way they've never done with others” would be and sorry it's quite long, i didn't want to skip.

Never Gone
Tumblr media
Thank you @amelink-greysanatomy for the prompt idea
/ Here’s a one-shot inspired by this line.
=========================
Set during S16, after Amelia gave birth.
Tumblr media
=========================
Link and Amelia are on their way home from the hospital. Not too long ago it’s just the two of them in the car, creating lifelong memories; blasting songs in full volume, the weekly drive thrus at every donut shop around Seattle, grinning from ear to ear while the moonlight hits each others eyes like they’re snow globes in a bed of stars.
And now there’s three.
Amelia just gave birth to this beautiful baby boy. The look on her face shows how, not an ounce, does she regret her decision of raising a kid together with the love of her life.
“I miss our late night drives.” Amelia said, looking out the window. “Staying in the hospital for two days felt like years.”
“I know. Everything’s in slow motion, it sucks.” Link replied, looking back on the time he spent months back and forth in hospital rooms as a kid.
Scout is sleeping comfortably in his car seat. Amelia turned her head around to check on him.
“He sleeps like you.” she tells Link.
“Like a log?”
“Yeah, we could be in the middle of a war and you would still be sleeping.” Amelia chuckled.
“At least I don’t snore.” Link turned to her keeping a straight face.
“I don’t snore, what are you talking about?” Amelia raised an eyebrow.
“Yes you do. It’s cute really.”
“Unless you have proof that I do, I won’t believe you.”
“Now how can you be certain that you don’t? You’re sleeping, how could you possibly know.”
“No. I don’t snore. End of discussion.”
“If you say so.”
Amelia places her left hand on his face grabbing his chin.
“Okay maybe I snore... A little.” she said, pouting her lips. ”But you love me.”
“So you admit it now?” Link remarked. Amelia removed her hand from his face, squinting angrily at him.
“Hey, hey. Sorry. I’m just kidding. Of course I love you even when you snore. You can be as loud as you want.”
Hearing these three words from him turned her frown to a broad smile in no time. A magic potion is what it is.
His features are highlighted by the dazzling street lights; Amelia can’t help but run her fingers, tracing his jawline.
“Chiseled. Like a statue.” she sighed.
Link opened the car door for Amelia, he’s chivalrous like that. He thinks that the simple gestures are what keeps the love going. Telling her how pretty she looks when she wakes up, picking flowers and tucking them behind her ear, making tea, or just simply asking how her day went. It’s the little things.
“I got him. Go take a rest. We’d be there in a minute.” he told Amelia.
He carried Scout inside and went straight to their bedroom where they set up his blue bassinet.
Amelia was too exhausted to function that she immediately went to sleep the moment she hit the sack.
-
Birds chirping. The morning breeze slowly brushing through the curtains. It’s a beautiful day.
Link opened his eyes and caught a sight of Scout and Amelia who are still asleep.
Waking up next to her is something he looks forward to every single day of his life. Her beautiful lashes, the way her nose crinkles when she yawns, the lines between her brows which she calls “mind cleavage”, the little freckles on her face that are barely noticeable unless you look at them at a very limited distance — makes him fall in love with her even more. It’s the little things.
He got out of bed to prepare Amelia’s morning refreshment.
“Got it. Thank you very much.” Link said, talking to someone. He put his phone down and started boiling some water for Amelia’s favorite passion fruit tea.
Amelia walked in the kitchen and grabbed a green cup that she brought home from Meredith’s.
“Hey, who was that?” she asked.
“Oh it’s Joanne, the new nurse. She told me about my jacket, I left it at their station last night apparently.”
“And she updates you personally? Don’t we have ‘lost and found’ for that.”
“Don’t be jealous. It’s a jacket Amelia. Not a date.”
“I didn’t say I’m jealous.”
“But you are. Nothing to worry about, okay? Love you. I’m yours.” Link said as he kissed her forehead.
“Better be.” Amelia smiled. She placed her hands underneath Link’s sweater, hugging him tightly, her chest touching his back. “Is that passion fruit? god I missed that. But if I’m being honest, I missed this more.” stroking his firm, muscular abdomen.
“Nah uh, doctor’s orders. We have to wait a little longer. Little anticipation won’t hurt.” Link winked at her as if he’s plotting something. “Doctor says nothing about kissing you though.”
“And this?” Amelia placed her hand on his behind.
Link turned to her and kissed her. Slow but intense. They haven’t spent a decent alone time together in weeks. The couple was caught up in the heat of the moment that they almost did it right then and there. On the damn kitchen counter.
“Nope, nope.” Amelia pulled away. Realizing that it may be a bad decision, she grabbed his face with both hands. “You’re right, doctor’s orders. Now can I have some tea, please?” She said, handing the cup.
“Coming right up.”
Link grabbed a packet of her organic green tea that she gets from this Chinese grocery store across Grey-Sloan. He poured hot water in the cup and put two spoonfuls of puree with a little splash of honey. The way she loves it.
“Thanks babe.” she said. “I’m gonna go upstairs, don’t wanna leave him there alone.”
“Yeah, I’ll follow you in a sec.” Link replied.
Link walked in the bedroom and saw Amelia sitting on the bed, carrying Scout and planting a kiss on his forehead. The tears started streaming down her face which got him worried.
“Hey. You okay?” wiping the tears on her face.
“I just.. I miss Christopher.” Amelia responded, her voice was cracking, a clear indication that she might break down at any moment.
“I know we didn’t have much time together. It was literally 43 minutes. The hardest 43 minutes I have ever experienced in my life. But it’s beautiful. I keep picturing him and Scout spending time together if he had lived.” she paused.
“It pains me to think that he didn’t get to live the life the might’ve wanted, that he’ll never play soccer and run to me when he scored a goal.” Amelia started crying. She’s been feeling this emptiness ever since she found out that she’s expecting. Link knows it. He rubbed her thighs, making sure she’s not alone in this fight.
“I love Scout. More than anything. It’s just that... Christopher was a huge part of my life. Always will be. And I’m proud that in that little time he spent in this world, he changed so many lives. That’s something I would carry with me forever.”
They haven’t talked about Amelia’s first born since that morning in the plant room. Link knows that it’s something very personal to her and it would be best if he won’t bring it up until she does.
“Amelia, you’re the best mom anyone could ever ask for. What you did was brave. And selfless. That makes you and Christopher a hero. In fact, he’s watching over you right now, babe. He’s never gone.” Link consoled her.
go little rockstar.
“Just cry and scream it all out, Amelia. I’ll get you whatever you need. Okay?
- I’m always gonna be here for you.”
he slowly cradled her head, tilting it so that it rests on his shoulder. She started sobbing.
After a brief moment, she took a deep breath. “Thank you.” Amelia looked up and caught his eye.
“It’s my job.” Link replied.
Link’s phone started ringing.
“Hang on, babe.. I have to get this. You’ll be okay?” Link stood up and grabbed his phone. “I’ll be back, this will be quick I promise.”
“Tell Joanne I said hi.” Amelia sarcastically responds. “Kidding. Go. I’ll be fine.”
Few months after, Amelia returned to work.
“Good to see you back!” Maggie gave her a hug.
“Nice to see you around here again, Amelia. People keep asking me for you. You’re in demand.” Meredith went in for a hug as well.
“Can’t wait to cut open some brains.” Amelia grabbed the charts.
“Hey. How’s your first day back?” Link approached her.
“Besides boring, it’s going alright I guess. Had a great cup of coffee at least. How’s Scout?”
“Last time I checked, he’s sleeping. He’s fine, Angela got him.”
“Good, I like Angela. She’s a good one.”
Angela is their favorite person to leave kids with in the daycare. She looked after Meredith’s kids back in the day.
“By the way, I’d like you to meet someone. He’s a patient of mine and he knows you. His parents too. They’ve been wanting see you for days. Years if you will.” Link said.
“Did I treat them before? Alright.”
“No, but it’s more than that. You’ll see.”
-
“This is Dr. Shepherd. You know her, right? Amelia Shepherd.” Link introduced her to this kid.
“Hi! I’m Brandon. Brandon Riley.”
“Brandon... Riley.” her jaw dropped.
“Pleasure to meet you, Dr. Shepherd. You mean a lot to me you have no idea.”
While this kid seemed to be a huge fan of Amelia Shepherd: the goddess of neurosurgery, their connection goes way back.
Brandon is now residing in Seattle with his parents. Few weeks ago he was admitted to Grey-Sloan for a surgery. He broke his leg after falling down three flights of stairs. Link operated on him and is now recovering in the peds floor.
Brandon is a former heart patient at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Due to his heart condition, he needed a transplant. He received one from St. Ambrose Hospital years ago. And his parents had been grateful ever since. They have not met Amelia until today. Seeing her brought joy and heartfelt gratitude to the Rileys.
“that’s for Chicago.”
“Dr. Shepherd. We’re eternally grateful for you and your son. You changed our lives.” Brandon’s mom broke down crying that she almost knelt in front of Amelia. Link broke her fall and helped her get up.
“Mrs. Riley, I- I can’t believe this is real.” Amelia stuttered. “I’ve always dreamed of meeting the families my son has helped. And seeing Brandon in front of me right know, is just... it’s unbelievable.” she said as tears began to form in the corner of her eyes.
Am I dreaming? Is this a dream? I think it is.
“Can I.. hold his hand?” she requested. The parents granted her request without hesitation.
“Hi Brandon. It’s so nice to meet you.” trying her best to hold back her tears, Amelia glanced at Link. He gave her smile and a nod signaling that she’s doing just as fine.
“How are you? Does your leg still hurt? Dr. Lincoln is the best so you don’t have to worry about that.”
“No. I’m okay. Umm Dr. Shepherd....”
“Yeah?”
“What’s your son’s name? The one who gave me his heart.”
“It’s Christopher.”
“Do you wanna feel my heartbeat?”
The first time she felt her son’s heartbeat was also the last. It’s the longing feeling that makes her wanna reach the heavens just to have one more glimpse of him. One more chance to reconnect.
“Yes. If that’s okay with you.”
Brandon spreads his arms wide open. “I’ll give you a hug. So you can pretend you’re hugging him.”
Amelia reached out to hug him back; she felt an instant bond. She looked up and closed her eyes feeling her heartbeat syncing with his; the rhythm of each pulse started to sound like a melody. This is her son’s heart. Alive. Beating.
The realization of it all caused Amelia to dissolve into tears.
She hugged him a little tighter before letting go. “That’s a strong heart you got there. Thank you, Brandon.”
“My pleasure, Dr. Shepherd. My parents told me that the greatest present you can get is the gift of life. And Christopher gave that to me. I promise, I’ll take care of his heart.”
“You be a good boy to your parents, okay? They love you. And be careful next time.” she brushed his hair. “It’s so great to meet you in person. I only heard your name from my chief of staff before.”
-
“Bye, Brandon.” Amelia hands him her calling card. “If you and your family need anything, give me a call.”
“Thank you Dr. Shepherd.” he replied.
Amelia reached for Link’s hand and walked out of the room with him. They took one last look at Brandon through the window, displaying a smile on their faces.
“Let’s go see Scout?” Link wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him.
“Love you. Thank you for doing this.” she stood on her tiptoes and kissed him.
“I know how much this means to you.” Link placed his right hand on her cheek. “I love you. And if you let me, I would love Christopher like he’s my son too.”
“Of course you can, babe. I would love him to have you too as his dad.” Referring to Ryan as his biological father.
“Let’s go.” Amelia embraced him with her left arm and puts her hand inside the pocket of his white coat.
“I can still feel his heartbeat. It’s crazy.” Amelia puts her other hand on her chest.
Amelia and her family arrived home after a long day.
“Today was magical. I’ll never forget it.” Amelia’s overflowing happiness from her interaction with Brandon remains existent.
“Rightfully so.” Link beamed with pleasure.
Amelia opened the door and saw a huge bouquet of peonies displayed on the coffee table beside their couch.
“That’s so beautiful. Ohmygod.”
She reads the note that came with the arrangement.
“For the best mom in the world. -L”
“Awhh Link.. you’ve done so much for me already, I can’t thank you enough. I love this. They’re my favorite.”
“I know. You deserve it babe. You brought Scout into this world and no present could ever top that. Gift of life, as they say.” Link kissed her hand. “By the way, there’s no Joanne. I was talking to the florist. I had those reserved.”
“I’m relieved.” Amelia creased up.
Scout woke up and started crying. “Mommy’s here. Mommy’s here. Shhh.” she said, with her baby voice. “Someone’s hungry.”
Amelia placed him in the stroller. She grabbed a pouch of breast milk from the fridge and started warming it up.
Link sat on the couch and gazed at their picture right beside the bouquet. It was a blurry selfie from the conference they went to in San Diego. He kept it in his phone and told Amelia that if they ever end up together, they’ll have it framed no matter how horrible it looks. To take a trip down memory lane if, at any moment, they feel the desire to.
Amelia and Scout joined Link on the couch.
“Whatcha thinking?” Amelia brushed her fingers through his hair.
“You. Our family. How everything started and the things we did for each other.”
“Well...” Amelia shrugged. “I’m holding the proof. And he’s already full.” she chuckled.
Link took them in his arms.
“Best thing.”

25- amelink + scout from the promt list please!
prompt is from this list - “I had the most wonderful dream…” (we're gonna ignore how late this prompt fulfillment is, and be thankful I wrote anything at all 😂...sorry for the delay though!)
"I had the most wonderful dream," Amelia said, turning over to rest her chin on Link's shoulder.
"Mmhmm," Link looked down at her with a sleepy smile. He had Scout in his arms and they were lying on the couch at Link’s place, half watching the movie on screen. Although Amelia hadn’t paid attention at all to what Link had chosen because she was dead-tired from working that morning, then coming home to make dinner and clean the house a bit while keeping an eye on Scout.
Amelia sat up a bit straighter and said, “Yeah, in my dream you did the dishes.”
Link let out a laugh that shook his whole chest, which startled Scout. “You seriously had a dream about me, and I was doing the dishes?” He had expected it to be dirty, but not utensil-wise.
“Yep. Which, they need doing by the way,” Amelia stretched and reached out her arms for Link to pass her Scout. “There was something else about the dream though that was more enticing. But I’ll only tell if you make do on the first part.” She winked and then disappeared from the room to go put Scout in his crib.
Link sighed. He knew the power Amelia had over him, so off he went to do the dishes. It was only fair considering the housework she had done today. Even though dishes were his least favourite chore, sometimes you had to do what you had to do.

Link walks away before she can open her mouth to explain, and she can taste sand and salt between her teeth as he brushes past her without a second glance.
He leaves, he leaves her standing there alone. He walks away.
Once he's gone, Amelia doesn’t move for a long time.
There’s a hollowed out feeling in her chest, and she thinks about Zola’s science homework, the one about neutron stars and the collapse of gravity and supernovas, and there’s a part of her that thinks she might understand that a little better now.
or: take my hand my love, i'll guide you home

Falling
“Would u do me the honor of marrying me” were the last words Amelia heard, she just stood there, wondering where, when, and how did it happen, she thought it was clear she wasn´t ready for marriage, at least not yet. Link has been so focused in planning the proposal that none of them did what they had agreed on; checking in, for more tan eight months he didn´t notice Amelia has not been herself and that she has been going to meetings more tan before and the way she used to zone out while feeding Scout.
She didn´t want compolsury, and he thought because  he has been planning everything for weeks it meant it wasnt but it was, and at her sisters wedding? She thought. Is all shes gonna think about every time someone talks about it. Link then asked the kids if they could go back to the party. They were confused, especially Zola. Why would auntie Amelia just look at Link and not say a word? They love each other, she was still little but she had the mind of a grown up woman. She also knew that whatever it was it was between them and that she would always choose her auntie Amelia, she would love her no matter what.
Link, I – I told u, I´m not ready, not yet, I love you, and I’ve never loved someone the way i love you but- And before Amelia could continue to explain the situation to Link, he says, then why would u say no?, the brunette then said, I thought we were on the same page, and that we had the same opinión on marriage, and Link, you know that marriage wouldn´t change things between us, is like we are already married, we will always be together.
Link then said, if marriage wouldn´t change anything. Then why don´t you accept?. Because I´m not ready and I don´t wanna have kids, I know u do, I do not want to make u be with me and give up on your dreams and what you want. You and Scout are all I need. Then she said to him what he told Owen months ago. I don´t think I could have a baby without losing myself. The way I love you and I love Scout, it´s scary, it scares me. And that could mean I would slip. I dont want that, I want to be present enough to enjoy every momen with Scout and you, to be a good mother and someday a good wife, you and our baby are my life and my home, I do want to marry you but not yet, We just got out of Meredith’s house. One day at a time, lets just stay like this for a while. Just the three of us in our house, what was Amelia said while tears were streaming down her face.
Amelia, I love you, but I thought thats what you wanted too, and I didn´t want to wait, I still don’t, so now I just need some time to think. He said with pain that was visible in his eyes.  I just need to be alone now, were his last words before leaving her alone.
Amelia stood there crying, hoping they can rise up together. After all, they have  been through worse, but the look Link had on his face? She has never seen him like that before. And she was scared.
This is my first fic, I hope you enjoy it and tell me if u would like a part two.

i heart you
a/n: hi! here's a little holiday amelink <3 I hope you enjoy and feedback/comments/reblogs are so greatly appreciated and help spread my work <3
----------
Amelia pulled her coat tighter around her body before leaning over and adjusting the blanket around Scout in his stroller, smiling as his eyes met hers, and he laughed happily. She tapped his pink nose with her finger.
"You ready to go home?" She cooed, pulling his hat down over his eyes
She turned around at the faint feeling of a hand on the small of her back to see Link behind her, a cup of hot chocolate in his hand held out towards her, and she took it gratefully.
"I almost got trampled by an elf for that," he muttered, gripping the bar of the stroller, glancing over as she brought the cup up to her lips.
"Scout and I have decided we should just head home. I think that lighting the fireplace, wrapping presents, and tucking this guy into bed under warm blankets would do us all some good."
"You know, Winter Festivals look much more fun on everyone's Instagrams," Link sighed. He wrapped his arm around Amelia's shoulder, and she leaned into his body as they walked down the dirt path lined with Christmas lights.
The Christmas music playing behind them faded out as they walked further and further away from the lights and decorations, and the air around them became quieter and quieter until they reached the car.
She kneeled down and smiled at the sight of Scout asleep in his stroller, only moving slightly as she gently lifted him and laid him into his car seat, pressing a kiss to his forehead before closing the car door.
"He's still asleep?" Link whispered after he shut his door softly.
"Yeah," she grinned. "Something about being all bundled up in the cold always gets him to sleep right away."
"Just like you," Link chuckled, placing his hand over Amelia's on the console of the car, their fingers slowly lacing together as he backed the car out of the parking spot. "Blanket hogger."
"Hey, I'm not the one keeping the thermostat at ridiculous temperatures just to have an excuse to cuddle every night."
"It works," he turned to her and winked, squeezing her hand quickly. She reached over to turn on the radio, keeping the Christmas music on a low volume and glancing back at Scout to make sure his eyes were still shut.
"Can you believe he's almost three?"
"We've still got a few months, which is good because he told me he wants a puppy for his birthday."
"Maybe we can negotiate a cat, but I think a dog is out of the conversation. We've already got you," Amelia turned her head towards him as he pulled into the driveway. "Do you wanna grab Scout or the stroller?"
"I'll grab our little man," Link glanced back. "You run inside and warm up." She muttered a quiet thank you before dashing out of the car and grabbing the stroller from the trunk, bringing it inside, and closing the front door behind her.
"Someone woke up," Link sighed as he walked through a minute later, a smiling Scout in his arms with pink cheeks from the cold, bundled up in his jacket. She leaned forward and kissed the tip of his nose, grinning as he giggled.
"You need to go to sleep," she whispered, pulling off her coat and shivering slightly, "I'm going to take a warm shower and then bundle myself in pajamas and warm blankets, and you better light the fireplace." She directed towards Link as she untied her boots and placed them on the shoe rack.
"Sounds like a plan. You should say goodnight first." Scout lifted his head slowly and stretched his arms out to his mother.
"Night night Momma," Scout spoke sleepily as Amelia kissed his head and he relaxed in her arms. "I heart you."
"Goodnight, Scout. I heart you," she whispered, smiling as she repeated her son's favorite way to express love. "Alright, back to Daddy."
"Bedtime," Link sang to his son quietly, rocking back and forth with each step towards Scout's room. Amelia watched them until Scout's eyes closed with his head laid on his father's shoulder and the bedroom door shut softly to tiptoe into the bathroom and turn on the shower and relax under the hot stream of water.
She got out to the sight of folded pajamas on the counter and smiled, pulling them on and scrunching her hair with a towel.
Link was sitting in the living room, surrounded by far too many presents they'd bought for Scout and a roll of wrapping paper.
"You look lost," she raised her eyebrows, grabbing a blanket from the couch and wrapping it around her shoulders. "I can wrap everything. You can just keep me warm."
"You smell all lavendery," Link smiled contently, taking in the scent of Amelia's hair as she sat in his lap and leaned back against him. "Scout was out like a light as soon as he was in bed."
"Good, because we have to wrap all of these presents," she muttered, leaning forward and grabbing the roll of shiny, colorful wrapping paper they'd chosen. "This is our first Christmas together. Like, really together, without anything wrong going on that we're ignoring or something. In our own house, with your parents coming up for dinner and presents, like our own little family." He beamed happily and kissed her cheek, pushing a strand of her damp hair behind her ear. "It's calm."
"I think it's about time we got some of that," he chuckled, handing her a piece of tape. "We've had some crazy holidays."
"It's practically tradition at this point." She slid the box towards the Christmas tree. "We have to tell Santa to start wrapping presents earlier next year."
"We're not known for being on top of things, so I doubt that's going to happen. I think wrapping presents the day before Christmas Eve is going to be a yearly event for us."
"Well, the corny Winter Festival definitely shouldn't. Maybe we're just homebodies for the holidays," she shrugged. "Or maybe I'm just worried that Scout's growing up too quickly, and he won't want to cuddle with us anymore or get hugs every morning."
"We've got a while until he's a teenager. But, I think curling up on the couch and making a pillow fort sounds like a good idea."
Amelia nodded in agreement as she yawned loudly, closing her eyes and groaning afterward. "I think we can finish wrapping presents tomorrow night," Link whispered, "and you can get my Mom to help you. I vote that we go bundle up in bed, and you hog all the blankets."
"I'm not going to fight you on that," she murmured, standing and picking up the wrapping paper and a few gifts.
He followed behind her quickly, filling his arms with gifts and hiding them in their closet, out of Scout's view, before joining Amelia in their bed.
"Goodnight," she sighed, intertwining their fingers and kissing the back of his hand softly. "I heart you."
"I heart you too."

Can you make a one shot where Maggie, Winston, Link and Amelia have a movie night at links apartment before the wedding obviously and while they are watching the movie and having dinner Link constantly tries cuddling Amelia and treating her in really cute ways and sort of embarrassing her too in cute ways.
hello anon i just want to apologize for how shitty i am at responding to these :( life has been crazy and sometimes i find it hard to have inspiration and motivation to write!! shoutout to riley for helping me come up with ideas!! love u<3
this is s15 amelink okokok scout does not exist! i know he did before the wedding but i miss s15 amelink SO MUCHH so here is s15 amelink if maggie and winston got married in s15 rather than s17
“This dinner,” Link’s eyes adverted up to Maggie’s, a satisfied look on his face. “Is probably the best meal I have had in a while.”
A thankful smile took over Maggie’s face, Winston agreeing and leaning over to give a soft peck on her cheek. “Incredible.”
“Soooo,” Amelia started, slouching back into her seat. “Have you decided where you’re going for the honeymoon?” Her breath hitched in her throat, an awkward glance over to the right to see Link’s hand being placed on her thigh before giving it a gentle squeeze.
“Still deciding,” she answered, giving a quick glance up at Amelia before she passed the bottle of red wine to her fiance. “There’s just so many options!”
“What about you guys?” Winston asked, finishing off the bottle of wine.
Amelia let out a laugh, not a real one, it was fake and she wasn’t hiding that it was. “Us?” she asked, placing her hand on top of Link’s before she gently pushed it away. “We’re not engaged.”
Winston had only just gotten to know them, only recently getting a job at Grey-Sloan so that’s why they were all sitting around a kitchen table in Link’s apartment because Maggie insisted that dinner and movie night would be fun. A double date, she called it.
“Oh?” Winston’s eyebrows were pushed together in confusion, his eyes bouncing back and fourth between them. “My bad, I just assumed that’s why we’re all together, like an engagement party or-”
“Nope!” Amelia interrupted, causing everyone, including Link to look over, all eyebrows furrowed together. “Not engaged.”
________
“So,” Link sighed, plopping down onto the couch beside Amelia, who was curled up in the corner on the opposite side of the couch. “What movie are we watching?”
“I was hoping Winston could pick,” Maggie answered, her hands curled around an overly sized bowl of popcorn, a blanket shared between the two and she was curled into his side. (The complete opposite of Amelia and Link.) “He’s always telling me about these crazy movies that I need to watch.”
It was some action movie, one with a major plot but with a twist at the very end. The type of movie that keeps you on the edge of your sweat. Winston had his arm thrown loosely over Maggie’s shoulder, her body laying against his side.
A large blanket was thrown over Link and Amelia’s body. Link’s arm was draping around Amelia’s shoulders, a gentle tug to pull her into his side.
Immediately after, Amelia stood to her feet and grabbed Link’s hand, pulling him to his own feet. “Excuse us.” She said, pulling Link to follow her to the kitchen.
“What are you doing?!” She whispered when they were in private.
“Uh..?” Link muttered, his eyebrows pushed together in confusion. Amelia was searching his face for some answers, as well was Link.
“We’re not in a relationship!” She was whispering, a whisper argument they found to be in often. “Just sex— no complications— we’re.. friends.”
“Friends that have sex.” Link pointed out.
“Ah, but you see,” Amelia started, a hand being placed on her hip. “Our non-relationship relationship rule doesn’t include anything else. Sex— nothing more.”
“Okay,” Link nodded, his eyebrows still pushed together. “So sex, but no cuddles. Got it.”
“Great!” Amelia whispered back before turning on her heel and disappearing back into the living room.
Link followed shortly after, making sure to keep his distance from Amelia, pulling the blanket up to his waist and she leaned into the corner of the couch.
Maggie and Winston were tangled amongst themselves and their blanket, her body leaning against him, his arm securing wrapped around her. Link sat on one side of the love seat, Amelia on the other, her eyelids heavy.
The movie was nearing the end, Amelia’s eyelids were fluttering closed before she’d force them back open again only to have them slowly shut again. A yawn was falling out of her, the blanket being pulled up closer to her chin. She was forcing herself to stay awake the entire movie, while Link was forcing himself to keep his distance. Surely Winston and Maggie were questioning the fact the two of them looked like complete strangers sitting on opposite ends of the couch.
It wasn’t long until Amelia’s eyelids were closed and she let herself curl into Link’s side, her head resting on his shoulder. The blanket pulled up to her chin, and Link’s arm was reaching around her waist, pulling her closer to his side. She went limp against his body, a soft snore slipping through her slightly parted lips. Her short brown hair was falling in front of her face which Link pushed it out of the way, placing it behind her ear.
He was in awe.
So much for the nothing more rule.

Someone at the hospital constantly flirts with Amelia and Link gets really jealous that when she gets home he reminds her that she’s his (smut) and makes her tell him that she’s his only
Jealous
A/N: Thanks for the prompt. There's A LOT of smut in my inbox right now, I'll try and get to it. This is set sometime in 16A except Amelia is not pregnant. Enjoy!
WARNING: SMUT and it's long and dirty... I should go to church.
He could hear it from down the hall.
The sound that always makes his heart flutter.
Amelia's laugh was infectious, her smile too. Link could hear his favorite sound getting louder as he got closer. But, as he walked around the corner to the OR board, his smile faded. He felt it in his stomach; that feeling.
"Seriously, Dr. Shepherd, that surgery was truly incredible." the new neuro fellow said, his tone a little over-friendly.
"Well, good to know I made a good first impression." Amelia laughed, wiping her name off the board before leaning against it.
"World class neurosurgeon Amelia Shepherd? It would pretty hard for you to not make a good first impression." he smirks, leaning against the board the same way she had.
Link felt his blood starting to boil as he watches the interaction. He walked over to where they were standing and wrapped an arm around her waist. Amelia turned her head and smiled at her boyfriends appearance, "Dr. Lincoln, this is Dr. Kahn, my new fellow."
The younger man held out his hand to Link, "Good to meet you. Amelia was just telling me about the surgery you two performed in New York a few months ago."
Link cleared his throat and turned his body into Amelia's, rubbing his hand up and down her side before looking at the other man, "Could you excuse us."
Dr. Kahn raised his eyebrows, looking down at the arm around Amelia's waist before nodding and leaving the two alone. Amelia unwrapped herself from Link's hold and turns to face him, her expression both confused and irritated, "What is wrong with you?"
"You were so rude just now." Amelia said sternly, crossing her arms across her chest.
"He was flirting with you." Link explains.
"No, he wasn't. He was being nice." Amelia rolls her eyes causing Link to laugh, "Amelia, he was flirting. I don't blame him but you are mine."
"Oh, so that's how this is going to go?" Amelia asks, clearly both irritated and amused by this conversation, "I'm yours and no man or woman is ever allowed to be nice to me ever again?"
"No one is allowed to flirt with you, only me." Link says, his voice serious causing Amelia to laugh once more, "You're ridiculous."
"And you're mine." Link smirks.
"When we get out of here, i'm gonna remind you why."
-----------------------------------
The second the two got through the door of Link's apartment, he had her pressed up against the door. His lips pressed against hers. The rapidness of it all caused Amelia to laugh into his mouth, "Oh, you were serious."
Link didn't say anything, he just wrapped his arms around her and lifted her up. She crossed her legs around his back as he carried her towards the bedroom, kissing around her neck.
When they got there, he threw Amelia onto the bed and stood in front of her. He gave her a sultry look as he pulled his shirt off and tossed it aside before doing the same to his pants and boxers. Now completely naked, Link climbed onto the bed where she was laid back and using her elbows to prop her up.
"You won't be needing this." Link says, pulling off her shirt.
He leans in to attach their lips once more, forcefully but making sure to not hurt her. He kept their lips pressed against each other, not letting them part for air while he reached around her back and removed her bra, tossing it behind him. Without warning, Link pulled away from her lips and took her nipple into his mouth causing Amelia to moan. She tried to hold it in, not wanting to give him the satisfaction but failed.
Eventually, Link had made his way down her body and was now tugging on her pants. He managed to pull them off, along with her underwear, at what seemed like record speed. Wasting no time, Link pushed her legs apart and smirked, "This wet for me already, huh."
Amelia rolled her eyes and smacked his arm with her foot, "Cocky."
Link pushed her legs up towards her chest and pulled her closer to him as he laid on his stomach, head placed between her thighs. He dove in, licking her softly, teasing her. "I am the only one who knows exactly how to get you screaming." he tells her as he pushes two fingers into her. Amelia breathes heavily at the sudden intrusion, the feeling of his tongue heightening everything she was feeling.Link began pumping his fingers into her, immediately curling them to reach her g-spot while his tongue makes slow circles around her clit. It was taking everything in Amelia to not moan, she wasn't giving in to his game yet. With his free hand, Link reached up to her chest and rolled her nipple between his fingers. Amelia had to bite her lip to stop herself from making a sound.
Link looked up from between her legs for a split second and smirked when he saw how hard she was trying. Seconds later, he had added a third finger and was pumping into her at a rapid pace. Amelia couldn't keep it in anymore. As his fingers moved, the sound of her arousal was joined by the sound of her moans as she got close to her climax. Link continued pumping his fingers and circling his tongue until she was squirming below him, squealing. He suddenly felt her walls tighten around him as she came, moaning his name loudly. However, Link didn't stop what he was doing. He sat up slightly, pulling his face away from her centre but continued to pump his fingers into her. Amelia was panting as the combination of coming down from her high and Link's continued movements started to overwhelm her. It wasn't until she started to squirt a little that she threw her head back and tried to close her legs around his arm.
"Okay, stop stop stop." Amelia begs, unable to take anymore "You've made your point."
Link smirks as he grabs her leg and uses it to flip her over so she's on her hands and knees, "I don't think I have."
Without giving her a chance to recover from her intense orgasm, Link pushed into her. Her walls were wet and warm and the feeling caused him to moan quietly. He immediately started pounding into her igniting another fire in Amelia's stomach as the feeling overwhelmed her, "No one fucks you as good a I do.". Link pushes her body down so the side of her face was now pressed into the mattress. The angle allowed Link to push deeper and hit her g-spot.
"You are mine. You understand?" Link asks dominantly.
He received no reply, just muffled moans as Amelia felt herself nearing the edge once more. Link could feel it too; her walls tightening around him and pushing him that bit closer.
"You are not allowed to cum yet." he instructs as he continues pounding into her, the sounds of their skin slapping filling the room.
"Please." Amelia whined, feeling herself starting to fall.
"Tell me who you belong to." Link demands.
Amelia, starting to become overstimulated, says nothing as she bites her lip once more in an attempt to hold on a little longer. Link speeds up his thrusts again as he starts to feel his balls tighten.
"Who do you belong to?" he asks again, a word between each thrust.
"You." Amelia gives in breathlessly, "I'm yours."
"Good girl. You're mine and don't you forget it." he says as he reaches around to rub her clit, signalling to her that she is allowed to fall. Amelia screams his name as she cums harder than she ever has before. Her body has a mind of it's own as she convulses around him. The sight of her causes Link to reach his own climax right after.
A few minutes later, they collapse on the bed, side by side. As they gain their breath back, Link pulls Amelia closer with a hand on her hip and wraps his leg over hers. He leans in to press a gentle kiss against her lips, feeling as they both smile into it.
"You're my girl." he says, running his fingers softly down her side.
Amelia rolls her eyes and smirks, "After that? You've got nothing to worry about, trust me."

Take A Chance On Me- Part 3.
“Florence?” Amelia called as she set the keys down onto the dish, placing Scout into his playpen.
“My room.” Florence answered back, her voice softer than Amelia’s.
“What did you do?!” Amelia exclaimed, her eyes wide as she saw the paint on the walls and tarps covering the floor.
“This room was plain, I made it better.” Florence said proudly, showing off the colorful almost retro flowers she had painted over the walls.
The white bed frame was now orange and the walls had a color palette of oranges, pinks and yellows. Amelia could clearly see Florence was taking advantage of being her own person.
“I didn’t tell you this was okay.” Amelia said firmly- like Evelyn told her once you’re building a boat.
“It’s just paint. If all else fails you can just get white paint and go over them a couple times.” Florence shrugged tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear.
“You really should ask permission. What if we sold the house or someone wanted to see it?” Amelia asked, her eyebrow raising.
“Oh so when Scout gets older and you get tired of having a random ass teenager you can give me back and won’t have to redo the house?” Florence pressed, was it stupid to argue with the woman giving you shelter and a life, sure. But Florence was never one to back down.
“We’re not going to give you back. I would just like some warning if you’re going to paint the walls.” Amelia said slipping her hands into her pockets, not willing to argue with a teenager- teenagers were scary.
“Okay then. Well I’m gonna keep painting and unless you want to inhale it I would leave.” Florence shrugged picking up the paint brush once more before making Amelia sigh as she walked away.
“I have no authority with her bubba.” Amelia pouted as she lifted Scout out of his pin.
Scout just babbled as he grabbed onto her scrub top, giggling at the faces Amelia was making at him. God babies were easy compared to whatever fight? Disagreement? That she clearly lost with Florence.
“I can’t believe you are the adult and you still lost an argument over the walls of our house with a teenager.” Link laughed as he stirred the sauce in the saucepan.
“I don’t know how far I’m allowed to push, technically I’m not her mother or I guess she doesn’t see me as that. I just don’t know how far I can push.” Amelia explained, her head resting in the palm of her hand.
“Well what did you do with Betty, how far did you push?” Link asked dipping the pasta and sauce onto plates.
“Well she was on drugs and like me so I knew how to handle that. But Florence as far as I know isn’t a drug addict. She’s just Florence.” Amelia sighed, leaning her head back facing the ceiling.
“Then just let her be Florence. She hasn’t done anything worthy of punishing her.” Link reasoned as he passed Amelia her plate.
“FLORENCE. COME EAT DINNER.” Amelia called as she walked the plates to the table along with their glasses.
“I’m here.” Florence said as she sat down at the table next to Scout’s high chair.
“What was school like. Did you meet anyone?” Link asked once everyone began eating.
Florence just shrugged. In her mind she wasn’t being rude, she never had sit down meals with adults who truly cared about her days.
Most days in the home was spent eating in the dining hall with one of her closest friends. Jolene. Jolene was much like the Dolly Parton song. Red hair and emerald green eyes.
Jolene’s hair curled into ringlets and Jolene had also lost both parents to a fire. Her and Florence had kept each other sane and was a shoulder to cry on and open mind to vent towards.
“It was fine.” Florence spoke quietly, moving her fork around her plate before taking a small bite.
“That’s good. Did you make new friends? I know it can be hard when you transfer.” Amelia said her voice supportive and kind.
“Yeah a couple, but I miss Jolene.” Florence sighed, taking a sip of her glass.
“Jolene?” Link asked, him and Amelia had never heard of a Jolene since Florence moved in.
“She was my best friend at the home. Her parents died in a fire too. We kept each other sane.” Florence said, Amelia and Link getting up to clean up the kitchen.
“Like your person?” Amelia mused, finally feeling like she could relate to the young teenager.
“Not really. Just my best friend.” Florence said, her brunette eyebrow raised as she placed the dishes into the dishwasher.
“Hey you.” Jolene smiled, glad to see her best friend’s face on the phone. They barely had time to talk since Florence went to school.
“Hi lovey.” Florence teased, her head resting on her knees.
“I miss you girl. It’s so fucking boring here. I thought Mrs. Lawrence would throw me out a window for my attitude today.” Jolene rolled her emerald eyes.
“Fuck her. She never liked me. Ever.” Florence laughed, propping the phone up as she walked towards her closet.
“She didn’t like either of us. The two bitchiest orphans.” Jolene chuckled, her ringlets falling out of the braid she had them in.
“Being bitchy kept us from being walked over. How is Dan. Or did you give up on him?” Florence semi shouted as she thumbed through her clothes, the patterns mixing as she moved quickly.
“I gave up. But some dudes who got married want to come meet me so. How’s the perky ones?” Jolene laughed as Florence sat back onto the bed, the phone in her hands.
Amelia passed by, Florence’s door cracked and she could hear them talking. Even though it’s a bad move; she had to learn more about her now daughter.
“They’re okay I guess. I just still don’t get why they wanted me. They have a baby. Like I’m way past the age of being wanted. But I think I got in trouble for painting the walls.” Florence said crossing her leg one over the other.
“Brutal. I don’t get that either but I don’t know why these guys want to talk to me. When I get out of here if I ever do I promise I’ll come see you Flo.” Jolene smiled sadly, even though Florence wasn’t that far, they had spent every moment of every day together since they were 8.
They had spent 7 years chained at the hip. And for the first time in a very long time, they were both virtually alone. Sure they had internet.
But that doesn’t come close to laying in bed at night, having snuck the communion wafers that night during mass. Laughing until they almost choked.
Or sitting outside, head on a shoulder just having a minute away from school or mass that they didn’t even believe in.
Using Amelia’s term- they were each other’s person. Jolene and Florence were the one constant in each other’s life. The one thing that was always there no matter the situation or time.
“Please do. I miss you lovey. It’s fucking weird not being able to just crawl in the bed in the middle of the night with the communion wafers.” Florence smiled, her head falling onto the pillows.
“You can say that again. Well phone time is almost up but I will call you tomorrow same time. Love you to the moon.” Jolene said waving her hand.
“And back every day.” Florence finished, her smiled fading as she hung up. Damn it, she missed Jolene.
