being bad at video games is fun because it makes your character a uniquely stupid yet resilient and plucky sort of hero. an underdog no one would ever expect to win. so if you finally do it feels like slightly different and potentially funner version of the story. It’s like look, this idiot FINALLY beat the big bad guy! it took them 900 tries but by Jove they did it! WOOOOOO! GO IDIOT!!! YOU DID IT, BUD 👏 ⁽ᵉᵛᵉⁿᵗᵘᵃˡˡʸ⁾

The absolute lowest caliber of nature documentaries are the ones that are like, styled as tournaments debating which 'scary' animals would win in a fight. I kind of love them. They're always like:
NATURE'S BADDEST
Narrator who perpetually sounds like he's in a nerf gun commercial: THE RHINOCEROS IS UP TO 3000 POUNDS OF SHEER MUSCLE AND ANGER. THEY CAN CHARGE AT OVER THIRTY MILES AN HOUR, ENOUGH TO TRAMPLE ANYTHING UNLUCKY ENOUGH TO BE IN THEIR WARPATH.
[footage of a rhino charging] [footage of a rhino tossing its horns]
Interview clip of whatever actual biologist they got for this: Yeah you probably could not outrun a rhino.
Narrator: YOU CAN'T RUN......AND YOU CAN'T HIDE.
[footage of a rhino chasing a dude] [footage of a rhino chasing a lion]
Interview clip of a guy who got attacked by a rhino once: I was attacked by a rhino once.
[shaky reenactment footage showing closeups of an actor screaming and flailing in some bushes, presumably from rhino POV]
Narrator: IS NOTHING SAFE FROM THESE BOISTEROUS BADDIES?
Interview clip of whatever actual biologist they got for this: Most species of rhino are threatened, and a few species are critically endangered and very close to extinction. They're subject to a lot of pressure from poaching and habitat loss.
Narrator (momentarily kind of solemn): IT SEEMS EVEN THIS UNRULY UNGULATE CAN'T STAND UP TO EVERYTHING LIFE THROWS AT IT..........
.....EXCEPT PERHAPS... A CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[footage of a rhino flipping over a car]
[same footage of a rhino flipping over a car in slow motion] [car crash sfx] [screaming sfx] [guitar riff] [inexplicable bear roar sfx]
Narrator: THIS TON AND A HALF MASS OF MUSCLE, HORN, AND FURY MAY BE BAD... BUT HOW DOES IT FARE AGAINST OUR NEXT CONTENDER... THE TARANTULA?!!
[footage of an utterly harmless spider set to scary music]

Knowing “Nerdy Prudes Must Die” was the first idea the Lang brothers had for Hatchetfield makes the whole series so much funnier.
Like, did they know in “The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals” that the weirdo who demanded a hot chocolate would be the leading man of the high school horror show?
Did they know the prude they mentioned a few times would be a homophobic murderer who defiled a corpse, fucked a ghost, and became a vessel for dark lords?
Was the homeless man joke in BEFORE the recast because they were still brothers, or not?

The entire plot of Thousand Autumns is just Shen Qiao going "it's fine that my martial brother whom I trusted unquestioningly poisoned me, stripped me of my status, had me thrown off a cliff, and caused me to lose all martial ability" while Yan Wushi in the background is screaming "no the fuck it's not!!!!!"

I remember when the first Ace Attorney Investigations game was first set to come out in Japan, and we in the fandom were following all the pre-release info over here, someone somewhere made the joke that the right trigger on the DS would be used to dock Gumshoe's pay. To this day, it remains one of my favorite Ace Attorney jokes of all time.

Something about how dream is the sun, he is warmth and light and brings so much life and joy and is up there minding his own damn business, and how all these CC's with their incredibly fragile wax wings decided that challenging him would somehow make them shine brighter

Life and Death of a Saint Pt. 1 -Dispersion Relation, unknown artist c. 2809. Forgotten Sanctum, Central Stacks.
Commentary under the cut.
This thing is an interpretation of the first memory scene of Waidwen in Bridge Ablaze. I'm intending to do all of them eventually but it'll take a bit.
Alright, I am kinda torn. On the one hand yes it is cool and I did a thing! This is my first embroidery project of the sort! It took me more than a month to get done but I did get it done. On the other hand, it doesn't quite live up my expectations. The borders aren't quite as neat as I would like, and of course making good pictures of my work has always been an impossible task. For the next one I'll also try to plan out the colour scheme a bit better. The placement in the frame is uznfortunately a bit off because i cut the fabric too small since I didn't know I would have a frame yet. Still, I did a thing! And it looks kinda good!
Special thanks to @stylishanachronism who really helped me put it together!
