I think maybe. Just because I have a privilege doesn’t mean I should feel compelled to use it.
#like I am incredibly lucky to be able to travel for fun and then be a piss baby about it#but I shouldn’t go somewhere just because I feel like I *should*#and Ik I used should in that sentence but!!#when I had a therapist she tried to help me figure out where my ‘should’s come from#and it’s usually my mom’s voice that I should do these things because I can and I have a joie de vivre that she doesn’t#but hey yanno! I don’t love being here! I think I would have the same happiness if I visited my cousin in California#and I also wouldn’t be dreadddding flying back home for 10 hours#I should only do things I want to do not things I feel like I should do#even like going to France isn’t necessarily something I’m crazy about doing even when I took French in high school#I think it was just a class to me and I didn’t hate my time in it
