NEWS FLASH: The family of the famous writer Y/N, died in a car crash on their way to the airport for a family trip to Hawaii. All four passengers are dead on arrival including the driver. The funeral will be closed and private, as per the writer Y/N’s request.  

The sky has your favorite shade of orange when you arrived at the house. Home, you thought. Always the same big house that you grew up to. It’s been almost ten years since you step foot in this house and seeing it again for the first time made you regret every Christmas that you purposely missed just so you can avoid spending time with your family. And besides feeling that you’re home, you feel regret suffocating you. What was I thinking, you murmured. This house used to be filled with laughter and happiness. Nights where you and your family will watch TV together in the living room with all the lights closed, countless meals together and talking about random stuff while eating, drinking coffee with your mother, playing board games with your brother. But now, the house is filled with dust and despair.

The house feels cold and dirty but either way, it’s what you need. You would rather feel the emptiness of this big house and miss your family than be alone in your apartment. Maybe being home can make you write something worth reading for again, maybe being home will help you be alive again. Losing your whole family is a different kind of pain. The word ‘alone’ does not cover what you’re feeling right now.

It has been nine months since the accident but the sad news is still fresh in your heart that sometimes when you remember it, you just turned into stone and start crying out of nowhere. Thankfully, the town was understanding enough about what you’re going through in life. They were all careful not to make you remember your family’s death, and made sure to take care of you in ways that they can.

“I see some stores are closing? What happened to Miguel’s Ice Cream shop?” you asked Sophie, the owner of the small grocery store in town. You’ve known her since you were just a little girl, and your mother and father helped her grow her business.

“Well, since your father’s death there's this vampire family who’s been buying the whole town. One by one, Qian Properties. Offering money and immortality as payments” she says. The worry in her tone is quite evident as if she knew that vampires will soon knock on her store and offer her the same thing. Money and immortality.

After your family’s passing, the world has gone mad like they took every good thing from this world with them on their graves. Crazy how in nine months the things that are used to be fiction like vampires, are now the new normal. Everything happened so fast. Their kind grew and grew and now their population covers over almost 1/4 of the world. Vampires school, condominiums for vampires, hotel ran by vampires, humans being vampires. It’s crazy. But even though the world has gone mad, it doesn’t bother you because the pain that you’re dealing with right now is taking too much of your sanity.

As months slowly pass by, even though you hate writing right now, you still try and find your way back to loving what you used to do for a living. Writing was everything to you. There’s no greater feeling than sharing something you’ve created to the world, show it entirely, and watch the people love every bit of that thick thing we called a book. You lost your spark with writing when the accident happened and it changed your life. Everything you published became the talk of the world, people hating it and blaming what happened to your family. It was your darkest time. Losing your family and watching your career end.

You type, delete over and over again, and tried writing your feelings away until you see the sun setting again. A good reminder to call it a day. Then someone rang your doorbell. You quickly grabbed your robe and make your way downstairs, you see a man’s figure on the other side of the gate, wearing a nice suit, black trousers, and nice leather shoes.

“Good evening. I hope I did not interrupt you, I’m Qian Kun” he offered his hand for you to shake it which you accepted with a straight face. Qian. The family name of the vampires who are buying properties in this town and you’re not stupid to not know what he came here for. You wanted to shoo him away and tell him that you’re not interested in anything that he will offer. You have a lot of money and you don’t need immortality.

You crossed your arms and waited for him to talk more. “May I come in? I’m looking forward to this meeting for quite some time now” he says. You turned around and did not say anything but left the gate wide open. “Please” he added and he sounded desperate.

“Mr. Qian, I left the door open. What are you waiting for?”

“I- I suppose you don’t know that vampires cannot come in unless you invite them in” you didn’t of course.

“I’m sorry. I did not know. Please come in”

When you two settled in the living room, he started the conversation by introducing himself. You notice that he’s well mannered, polite, and careful with his words. He doesn’t sound fake like the monsters who pretend to care for you in the writing industry. Kun was straightforward without offending you, intimidating but not enough to make you feel small. He stated his intentions very clearly, “As a firstborn, I want my family to have a nice home. And this house is perfect. You will not be homeless, of course. We will find you a new house, cash, and immortality” he says.

You couldn’t agree more with what Kun told you. But the reason that he’s here to buy your house is something you can’t let him do. Even if he’s polite, nice, and handsome if you’re being honest. You can’t let him take away your home.

“It’s good that you love your family so much and you’re taking care of them. Something that I regret not doing” you take a sip from your coffee before you continue saying something that will bring you to tears, “are you aware that I lost my family, about a year ago?” you were calm when you said it, but it still hurt like hell. Admitting that they’re gone.

Kun was speechless. He felt like he ruined your peace and your time to mourn your family but most of all, it felt like he’s disrespecting you. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know” is all he can say.

“I have way too much money and I don’t want immortality. Thank you for your offer, but this is all I’ve got”

“I cherish my family too. I have a family and we don't have a home, you don’t have a family but you have a home. Be part of us, we can be your family”

You got offended, but still, there’s not enough reason to burst out and be hysterical. You gave him a small smile and shook your head, “Good luck finding a home Mr. Qian. I admire you taking care of your family”

The night ended coldly, both disappointed with personal reasons. Although he felt sorry about his visit, he still got his eyes on the prize. Kun will stand his ground and will try over and over again until you say yes to his offer. You, on the other hand, don’t know why you have a soft spot for the vampire even though he already offended you. Maybe it’s because you were moved for his honest reasons that you can’t let out your anger towards him even if you force yourself. He was just trying and finding his family a stable home, no need to get mad, you said to yourself.

As days go by, the vampire did not give up as expected. He continued his visit and greet you with the sweetest smile. He tried pursuing you, giving you flowers, bringing you books to read, chocolates, fruits, anything that crosses his mind that will try to change your decision. He was desperate for his family’s sake and it was obvious.

Sophie said that Qian properties chose this place because it’s far from the city. There’s a lot of trees and the neighborhood is peaceful. “That’s why he’s desperate. Your father made this town great. Don’t let that Qian family eat up of what your father built” she says sternly.

You walked alone to your house with a bag of take out, thinking of other ways to make your meal even more delicious. Since you’re alone in life, you don’t have someone to cook you a decent meal. When you were living alone in the city, you have your manager cook you good food. But now that you’re completely alone, you just have to make the best out of this take out.

“Hi” of course the vampire waited for you to come home. You smiled and let out a small laugh because both of his hands are carrying grocery bags.

“What are you doing? I have food and enough stocks for a whole family, and I live alone” It was a joke. You giggle and opened the gate, this time you did not forget to invite him in.

Hearing him say those words made you think that Kun is a blessing in disguise. Finally, decent food. You don’t want to admit but having Kun’s company tonight made you feel happy. Not genuinely happy of course, but it’s nice to have someone to talk to. Surprisingly, he’s talkative but not annoying. The words that came out from his mouth made sense to the point that you’re learning new things from him. He was right, he’s here as a friend and not as a buyer of your house.

“Why do you want my house so bad?” you asked. Stirring the spaghetti sauce that he made.

“Hmm. I thought I’m here as a friend?” he smiles and refuses to answer your question. He looked handsome up close, but his unbelievably white skin is scary. It reminded you that he’s a vampire.

“Well okay, if you don’t want to answer that question. I didn’t know vampires eat. I thought you only drink blood from humans” you quickly changed the subject so he can feel comfortable.

“I love food and I love cooking. It’s my guilty pleasure. It doesn’t make me full, but if what I made taste good then I’m satisfied” he answered your question with a big smile. Proud and happy to talk about how he loves cooking.

For someone who doesn’t have a soul, Kun is a vampire full of life. You listen to him talk about the things he sees on TV and watches his eyes show you and tell you how he’s curious about the world. He’s well aware that there's so much you can do in a lifetime, he wanted to learn many things and go around the world. He’s almost more human than you are. “Well if you have all these dreams of yours why don’t you embrace life instead of living in the shadows for your family?” you hope he answers your question this time.

“My family is more important than my dreams and my wants in life. The things that I long for will forever be in this world, but my family can die anytime-“ he realized what he just said, “I’m- I’m sorry. I got carried away. Please- Uh, how’s the food?” he tried changing the subject but it was too late.

He’s right. Everything he said is right and you’re realizing it just now, “I wish I met you before my family died. Unlike you, I chose my dreams and turned my back against my family. And now I’m regretting it. Don’t worry, you didn’t offend me and the food is great. Really great” your tone was slowly turning sad and gloomy. The vampire was quick to be concerned but he can’t do anything to help you heal. So, he changed the mood and joked about offering you immortality and you argued with him and tried convincing him to embrace being human. It was a friendly debate that made him blush and your heart flutter.

Kun hates lying, even to himself. As he listens and watches you speak very closely while you drink your wine, he's slowly liking you and he's not afraid of what he's feeling right now. He loves how you talk about the things you've experienced already like he's listening to a book about wonders. You must be a great writer. The whole time you were talking about your first book to him, he was really impressed by your talent but he can't listen to you further. Instead, he just admired you closely.

But for Qian properties, lives are involved.

“What happens to the people you turn to vampires?”

“Besides being rich, they will have a long life, my family owns them and as long as they live, they will work for my family. But I can assure you that their lives are safe. We don’t harm them, rather we help them adjust to this new life they swore to- How are you?”

His sudden concern for you caught you off guard that you smiled and became shy in front of him. He’s not here as a businessman again, he’s here as your friend, Kun. Whom you kissed and waited for his presence every day.

“I waited for you every day” he smiled at your honesty. But then, his smile slowly fades away. He holds his chest and pretends that he’s okay to not make you worry. “I’m not stupid you’re hungry. When was the last time you drank blood?” you brought him to your kitchen to give him a plate of raw steak. But he told you steak does not cover it. You were trying so hard to help him ease his hunger. Then you realized, you have blood.

“Try not to kill me? Or turn me?” you exposed your collar bones to him and standup in between his legs. He was sitting on the kitchen counter like a bored teenager with a bottle of water in his hand. He let out a cute laugh and fixed your robe.

“I promise. Now, come on eat. Tell me if it’s delicious, I just learned this from the cooking show I’ve been watching”  

The constant push and pull continued. Your relationship has always been a never-ending convincing each other to be something you’re not. But ever since you let Kun in your life happiness is present in your life again and you’re worried that maybe someday that happiness will be taken away from you again. Kun is literally the reason why you smile first thing in the morning and sleep peacefully at night.

After having dinner and you two are ready for bed, you can’t stop thinking about the conversation you had this morning. The decision you’ve been thinking about has been running in your mind the whole day but there's another thought that’s been bugging you all along and you’ve been wanting to ask Kun.

“Can you really not die?”

He must be tired. He closed his eyes and kept you close. You wait for his answer but it seems like he doesn’t want to keep the conversation. Then he looks at you, “I can. I just have to be careful. I can die like how humans die except for dying at old age” he explains and you don’t want to pry further. “I'm scared of dying, you know. There’s so much I want to do in my life even before I met you. But since then I became even more scared to death. This world holds everything important to me, my family, and you. “Listen” all you hear are birds chirping and comfortable silence, “peaceful right?” you nod your head, “Let’s never break that peace in our relationship. I don't know how to make things easier for us but let's start with, no more push and pull. Last night I promised you that vampire or not, I’m gonna marry you and this is me keeping that promise. I would rather watch you die at old age, wrinkly and weak than lose you” He kissed your hand, and the panic that you’ve been savoring is long forgotten. Instead of screaming your lungs out because of too much happiness, you kissed each other and engraved that beautiful moment in your hearts.

And because you and Kun have been living together for quite some time now, you’ve become the talk of the town. Everyone thought that Kun is keeping you hostage and is only using you to get the house and to get the whole town. Even though he has been really successful in buying lives lately and earning the people’s loyalty in this town, the ones who strongly refused Kun’s offer is now making a plot behind his back.

A plot where they plan to kill him and save you. They’re just waiting for the perfect timing to strike the vampire.

“He’s just using you to get the house. Of course, he had to marry you so he can have legal rights to your house. Trust me, that vampire will leave you” Sophie hated Kun so much that when you told her that you’re engaged she didn’t take it lightly. The old woman shoos you out of her store and told you to be smarter. It’s sad how she can’t see that you’re really happy with Kun.

When you got home from grocery shopping, you wait for Kun to arrive before you leave him for one night to meet your manager back to the city. It pains you to be away from Kun. It’s like there's this magnet that’s keeping you near him and stopping you from leaving the house but finally, you finished a good book. All thanks to Kun. Your manager wanted to meet you so you can work on the details and finally, go back to the world and show everyone how you’ve been.  

“The city is great. You sure you don’t want to come? There's a lot of vampires in the city-“

“And my fiance is a famous writer. Who’s about to have her come back to the industry that she loves. I don’t want to give you a problem before you can even go back out there. People will not take it lightly if they see you with me” he kissed you and hope that you will not argue with him further.

“But we just got engaged. I don’t want to be away from you” you pout like a little girl.

“Well then come home soon” he smiles sweetly to you and finally made you stop your whining.

Leaving home never felt so wrong. But you realized, he’s right. You just have to come home soon.

When you were back in the city and in the familiar office of your manager, you can’t help but feel out of place. Is this really what you want? Because if your manager agrees to publish this new work of yours, that means you have to leave home again. You have to leave Kun and live in the city. Something you think you can’t handle. It's like making the same mistakes again.

“I love it! You’re back- amazing work. I have to meet this vampire that you’re talking about. The one who inspired you to write this beautiful masterpiece. Ugh! Welcome back!” he exclaims excitedly. But his approval did not make you excited or anything. You’re happy of course, but you’ve been thinking about coming home and telling Kun the good news.

“Are we done here?”

“Uh- yes, bu-“

“Great. Call me if you need anything. I have to go home now. Thank you” you shake his hand and bid him goodbye. You were quick to get out of there and head home already. The plan was to stay the night in your old apartment, but you can’t. You really can’t. It’s almost 3 in the morning and Kun must be sleeping already because he hasn’t answered your calls. You drove excitedly while playing with the ring on your finger, thinking about how to spend the following days with Kun as an engaged couple.

When you finally arrived in town, people in their sleep wears welcomes you in the street. But their faces looked worried and concerned. What’s happening, you murmured. Since a lot of people are blocking the street you decided to get out of the car and check what’s happening.

“Y/n… the house….” someone shouted.

“My house?” you ran as fast as you can to see what they’re talking about. Hoping that everything is fine and that Kun is safe and not inside the house.

Then you see it.

It was your favorite shade of orange. Eating your house, ruining your home. You watched the house burn and you never thought that watching it will make you hate something you used to love ever since you were just a kid. You wanted the bright colors to fade. Your hands are shaking as you call for help. Screaming at the top of your lungs as people try to stop you from running towards your house.

“Kun!” you screamed and asked for him but no one is answering you.

Sophie tried to make you listen to her while you push everyone away. “I’m sorry. We had to do this. The town was slowly dying and turning into a vampire town. Y/n! He will leave you in the end or worst, he will change you” she was apologizing but you didn’t want to listen to her anymore. You slapped the old woman and tried to kick her with all your might but the people are quick to stop you.

The fire spread so fast that Kun didn’t have time to save himself. He tried calling for help but the lines were already cut. It’s obvious the fire was planned. He was trying so hard to escape death, coughing and covering his mouth, crying while he bangs through the door that seems to be locked from the outside. I don’t want to die. He repeats over and over again, thinking about his family, his brothers, and of course you.

But he couldn’t go out. He banged through the door until his last breath and strength but it did nothing. Soon the fire ate him and all he can do is scream through the pain, cry, and accept death.

The next thing you know, you’re at the hospital. You see your manager sleeping on the couch. Tears started falling but you don’t know why. On top of that, your heart feels heavy. It’s a familiar feeling, you thought. Like when the news that your family died reached you.

Then you see your ring. And suddenly you understand why you started crying out of nowhere and why that familiar feeling of losing someone is back.

Kun is dead.

And once again you’re back to rock bottom but this time you don’t have a home or a place to help you heal.

Chris Yukine: "An emergency call at the crack of dawn means there's been some kind of accident, right?"

Elfnein: "More like we might have one on our hands soon."

Maria: "Soon? What's that supposed to--"

Genjuro Kazanari: "Here it comes!"

Shirabe: "Wait... That's not Alca-Noise, but regular Noise..."

Kirika Akatsuki: "Does that means [1] the Treasury of Babylonia re-opened?!"

Tsubasa Kazanari: "Or is it a new kind of enemy?"

Genjuro Kazanari: "I'll explain later. For now, go and intercept the Noise!"

Chris Yukine: "Could somebody explain what's going on here! Why are there still Noise popping up?!"

Genjuro Kazanari: "Of course. Elfnein-kun will explain."

Elfnein: "Right..."

Elfnein: "To start off with, those Noise aren't from our world."

Tsubasa Kazanari: "They aren't from our world?"

Elfnein: "In our world, the Treasury of Babylonia remains closed."

Elfnein: "Those Noise were able to appear, because in reality, they're not from our world, but from a parallel world."

Maria: "Huh? What do you mean?"

Hibiki Tachibana: "Parallel... world?"

Miku Kohinata: "You've never heard of a parallel world? It's a different world that happens to be really similar to ours."

Hibiki Tachibana: "Uhhh, I think I get it... Or maybe I don't..."

Miku Kohinata: "But if such a world really exists..."

Chris Yukine: "Parallel schmarallel! I want to know why the Noise came here. And no technobabble this time!"

Genjuro Kazanari: "The relic Gjallarhorn is what's causing this incident. It's a complete relic that can connect two different worlds."

Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "It connects..."

Kirika Akatsuki: "two different worlds?!"

Tsubasa Kazanari: "Slow down a minute. When was a relic like that discovered?"

Genjuro Kazanari: "It was discovered by an excavation team lead by Ryoko-kun. It was already active when it was discovered."

Hibiki Tachibana: "Ryoko-san found it?!"

Elfnein: "The existence of Gjallarhorn had been kept classified, and only a select few knew about it."

Elfnein: "I read about it in a report for the first time this morning."

Genjuro Kazanari: "Gjallarhorn is a unique, dangerous relic, meaning that it's been experimented on in absolute secrecy."

Genjuro Kazanari: "What we discovered was that when an abnormality occurs in a parallel world, it can connect to our world."

Elfnein: "That parallel world, a world similar to our own, has been following a similar course of history."

Elfnein: "But despite that, there are certain occurrences unique to that parallel world."

Elfnein: "Must like our own world's history, it has continued to flow from ancient times to the modern day."

Elfnein: "But when the river of history reaches a tipping point, it breaks into several tributaries."

Maria: "So that parallel world is one of those tributaries."

Elfnein: "Correct. It is a world created from the possibilities that flowed out of our world."

Tsubasa Kazanari: "A world of possibilities that were lost from ours..."

Genjuro Kazanari: "Anyway, it's beyond any reasonable doubt that Gjallarhorn has connected our world to a parallel world again."

Maria: "Again? You're saying this has happened before?"

Genjuro Kazanari: "Yes. When Gjallarhorn connects to a parallel world, countless Noise appear, perhaps due to the worlds colliding."

Genjuro Kazanari: "The Treasury of Babylonia was open last time, so we could only guess, tut [2] this time, we know for sure.”

Genjuro Kazanari: "The abnormality that occurred here can only be cleared by resolving the abnormality in the parallel world."

Elfnein: "According to our records, there have been two instances when parallel worlds became connected."

Elfnein: "It seems the very first occurrence was resolved by Kanade Amo."

Hibiki Tachibana: "Did you say Kanade-san?!"

Tsubasa Kazanari: "Kanade? When was this?! I don't remember hearing anything about Kanade doing this!"

Genjuro Kazanari: "Calm down, Tsubasa."

Genjuro Kazanari: "Gjallarhorn is a complete relic, but it cannot be controlled or meddled with. It's like Pandora's Box."

Genjuro Kazanari: "Allowing you, the only fully compatible candidate, to go near something so dangerous was out of the question."

Tsubasa Kazanari: "Is that why you sacrificed Kanade?!"

Genjuro Kazanari: "Calm down. In the previous incident, Kanade-kun managed to cross to the parallel world and resolve the issue."

Genjuro Kazanari: "I admit I say this in hindsight, but she wasn't injured. Thanks to her, we learned more about Gjallarhorn."

Tsubasa Kazanari: "But..."

Maria: "You said it connected twice."

Elfnein: "Yes. The second time was during the Zwei Wing concert three years ago, during Nehushtan's activation experiment."

Tsubasa Kazanari: "What?!"

Genjuro Kazanari: "The concert overlapped with Nehushtan going berserk, and the only way we could deal with it was to wait it out."

Chris Yukine: "Okay... So we should be alright not going to the parallel world, and waiting this one out?"

Elfnein: "In the end we paid a terrible price for our lack of action."

Genjuro Kazanari: "And besides, this relic only reacts to wielders."

Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Why only wielders?"

Elfnein: "I still don't know the details behind it, but..."

Elfnein: "It is thought that Gjallarhorn only selects someone powerful enough to resolve these interdimensional crises."

Kirika Akatsuki: "I don't really get it, but basically you're saying that we're the only ones who can go to that world?"

Genjuro Kazanari: "Precisely. That's why I want all of you to go investigate the abnormality."

Elfnein: "I don't know what's going on over there, and it will likely be dangerous..."

Tsubasa Kazanari: "I'll go."

Genjuro Kazanari: "Tsubasa..."

Tsubasa Kazanari: "I'm the only one who can take up Kanade's mantle."

Tsubasa Kazanari: "Besides, we have so many wielders here. If anything happens to me..."

Hibiki Tachibana: "Y-You can't!"

Maria: "Tsubasa, do you understand what you're saying?!"

Tsubasa Kazanari: "I'm sorry, but I can't let anyone else do this. This is my duty as Kanade's other wing."

Genjuro Kazanari: "Tsubasa, I understand how you feel, but don't get ahead of yourself. I've no intention of letting you go alone."

Elfnein: "Yes. There are Noise appearing here as we speak, so it would be best to split our forces into two teams."

Miku: "There are six of us here, so it'll be three per team then?"

Elfnein: "That's right. Meaning Tsubasa-san will be with two others."

Maria: "In that case, I'll go with her. I have to make sure she doesn't do anything too crazy."

Tsubasa Kazanari: "Maria..."

Chris Yukine: "Then I'll take the last spot."

Maria: "Wait. I want you to team up with Shirabe and Kirika."

Kirika Akatsuki: "What?!"

Shirabe: "Maria?"

Chris: "You mean them?"

Maria: "Yes. So that means only one remains..."

Hibiki Tachibana: "......"

Hibiki Tachibana: "Um, I don't really get this parallel world stuff, but there'll be people over there who need help, right?"

Genjuro Kazanari: "Just like I said earlier, Gjallarhorn is like Pandora's Box. Most of it is still completely unknown."

Genjuro Kazanari: "However, considering past occurrences, there is a very high chance that people will be needing help."

Hibiki Tachibana: "Then I'll go!"

Miku Kohinata: "I knew it..."

Hibiki Tachibana: "Hehe, sorry Miku."

Miku Kohinata: "It's okay. You're going to get to help people, right?"

Hibiki Tachibana: "Yep!"

Genjuro Kazanari: "It's decided. The survey team will be Tsubasa-kun, Maria-kun, and Hibiki-kun. Please stay safe out there."

Genjuro Kazanari: "This is the gate created by Gjallarhorn that leads to the parallel world."

Elfnein: "Gjallarhorn emits a sonic wave to notify us of the abnormality in the parallel world."

Tsubasa Kazanari: "Sonic wave... Then the light being emitted from the relic is..."

Elfnein: "Yes. It shows that it has detected an abnormality in the parallel world." Elfnein: "Is everyone ready?"

Tsubasa Kazanari: "Yeah, I'm ready."

Maria: "All ready."

Hibiki Tachibana: "Totally ready!"

Elfnein: "When you get to the other side, please confirm your location."

Elfnein: "There should be a gate that will allow you to return to where you came from."

Tsubasa Kazanari: "So you're saying we can return at any time?"

Elfnein: "Yes. That is what it says in the report."

Tsubasa Kazanari: "I see... All right. Let's move out."

Chris Yukine: "You really don't hesitate, huh?"

Maria: "That's Tsubasa Kazanari for you. We should get going, too."

Shirabe Tsukuyomi: "Be careful out there, Maria."

Kirika Akatsuki: "Come back right away if you feel lonely!"

Maria: "I-I wouldn't do that even if I were! You have a job to do too, okay?!"

Hibiki Tachibana: "I should get going... Miku?"

Miku Kohinata: "Hibiki, are you sure you'll be all right?"

Hibiki Tachibana: "You're such a worrywart, Miku. I'll be fine. I'm just going out for a bit to help people. Wait for me, okay?"

Miku Kohinata: "Okay... I'll be waiting."

Hibiki Tachibana: "And now, off I go!"

“Can’t believe he kicked me out of the room.” Yato muttered to himself as he stared up at the clear starry sky, chewing on his lip in annoyance, “After I was the one who got it for us in the first place. Ungrateful brat.” He shivered and pulled his jacket closer to his body, starting to think that maybe he should just find somewhere on the ship to lurk around until Yukine finally gave in and let him in again.

Just as he started to push his elbows into the bench to lift himself up, he heard the heavy clacking of heels on the wooden deck as well as loud sobs rushing past him. Keeping low, he peeked over the top of the bench to see the same girl he had been staring up at earlier that day, clinging on to the rail desperately and looking down into the ocean as her shoulders shook in time with her cries.

After a minute or two, the sounds grew quieter and she seemed to get a determined look on her face before stepping up onto the first bar of the railing.

At that, he snapped upward, “What the fuck do you think you’re doing?”

The girl whirled her head around in shock, “W-what? Who are you?”

“That really isn’t important right now.” He got up from the bench and pushed his hands into his pockets, “’Again, what are you doing?”

Her mouth hung open in surprise, “I-I-I’m—” She turned back to look over the back of the ship, “Nothing. I’m just upset, alright?”

“So you’re not planning on flinging yourself off the side of the ship, then.”  Yato answered in somewhat of a mutter.

“What? No! I—” She had started to turn again to look at him before the heel of her shoe tangled in her dress and she started to dip forward, letting out a loud scream.

“Shit.” He dove forward and grabbed both sides of her waist, yanking her backwards with enough force to knock both of them over. They both hit the floor with a yelp, Yato panting and the girl sputtering out a few coughs. “Are you…okay?” He took a few breaths before he could finish his question.

She inhaled deeply, “Yes, I think so.” She sat up quickly and moved to the side of him, her face getting flushed, “E-excuse me, sorry.”

“Don’t need… to apologize.” He breathed out before coughing as well as he sat up, “Unless you were going to off yourself in front of me.”

“I told you—” She fired back at him angrily before he waved her hand to shush her.

“HOLD IT!” They were interrupted by the sound of pounding footsteps of a group of men rushing towards them.

Yato’s eyes widened, “Wha—” The girl’s eyes flashed to him, almost seeming apologetic, confusing him more until he found himself with his face pushed against the ground and his hands pulled behind his back, “The hell!?”

“Rabou-san—Kouto!” He heard her voice from above him as if she had stood up.

As whoever held him pushed him even harder against the deck, he heard another voice answer, “Hiyori!” The voice then turned into pure venom and he felt what felt like a shoe begin to press down into his back, “How dare you touch my fiancée—”

“Kouto, stop!” Her voice was shrill, “Rabou-san, you too. He was helping me!”

Yato was released only to find himself harshly shoved upward to meet two glares, Hiyori’s worried face just barely within his line of sight.

“Is that true?” The man with auburn hair lingered just a few inches from his face, his intense stare not faltering a bit.

Yato glared back out of sheer annoyance, “Yeah.”

Hiyori took a step in between them, explaining frantically, “I was trying to look at the… the, um…” she trailed off, waving her hands.

“The propeller…?” He questioned back, squinting his eyes.

“Y-yes.” She nodded sheepishly.

The white haired man gave a sharp laugh, commenting, “Goes to show you that women and machinery don’t mix.”

Yato didn’t miss Hiyori’s quick glare at his words, but he let out a sigh of relief as the grip holding his hands behind his back finally released him. He shook his wrists in front of him, trying to get rid of the numbing feeling that had started to creep in.

“So I guess we’ve got a hero on our hands.” Rabou looked at him smugly, suggesting, “Don’t you think he deserves some sort of award?”

He almost sounded sarcastic, but the other started to reach into his jacket, “I suppose you’re right—”

“Are you really going to put a price on saving my life, Kouto?” Hiyori asked in disbelief, her voice cracking.

His eyes widening as he realized his mistake, he withdrew his hand and hummed to himself, “Hiyori is displeased… Hm…” He looked up before turning back to Yato, “How about you join us for dinner tomorrow night so we can recount your tale of heroism?” He motioned towards him for his name.

Rabou looked on in disbelief and Hiyori seemed to be urging him to agree, so he did, “Uh… Yeah, sure. And it’s Yato.”

“We’ll see you then.” She took a step forward, lowering her voice, “And thank you.”

The three of them started to walk off before he cleared his throat, “Actually, would it be alright to bring along my kid—uh, kid brother?” He wasn’t really his brother, nor truly his child, but he wasn’t sure what else to call him, especially in front of this sort of audience.

Hiyori paused before smiling brightly, “Of course.”

Hiyori had spotted him on the lower deck that morning and attempted to subtly wave him up. After giving her a blank look in return, she waved more furiously, earning the looks from other passengers and causing both her and Yato to turn light shades of pink.

“What’s up?” He tried to ask as nonchalantly as possible as she let him through the gate, avoiding the harsh stares that were still very much present.

“Nothing, I just wanted the chance to speak to you in a… calmer setting.” She tugged the fabric at his arm before rushing forward, “Let’s move farther down the deck.”

“Don’t have to tell me twice.” He mumbled under his breath, glad to escape their audience.

Finding a good stopping point, she turned around to face him and looked him over for a minute before squinting, “If you have a little brother, why is it that I always find you without him? Are your parents on the ship?”

“Ah, no.” Yato swallowed and cleared his throat, “Yukine isn’t really my brother, but I didn’t really want to get into that during that moment, you know. There was enough going on. He’s a kid that I sort of take care of, but he does alright on his own as well. He’s short, but he’s a teenager.”

Her frown only seemed to deepen, “Well it doesn’t seem like you’re doing a very good job of taking care of him if you’re just letting him wander around a ship on his own.”

He laid his portfolio across his chest and crossed his arms over it, “Truth be told, he made friends with some kid named Suzuha shortly after boarding and he’d rather hang out with him than me. And for your information, Suzuha’s parents are aboard the ship, if it helps you feel any better. Not that that’s any of your business, really.”

Seeing Hiyori turn red again and part her lips with a lack of something to say, he smirked and added, “I’ve been on my own since I was fifteen. My old man was abusive so I got the hell out of there as soon as I could. My little sister came with me at first, but dad didn’t treat her nearly as bad as me, and she ended up going back to him despite everything. But anyway, I found Yukine who was pretty much in the same situation as me and I was already somewhat used to having a kid tag along by that point, so I just took him in myself.”

“O-oh…” She chewed on her lip, still at a loss for words and sympathy shining through her expression.

Yato leaned his back against the wall, “Don’t worry about it. We’ve struggled, but we’re making it okay. I mean, we’re on this ship.” He made a wide gesture with his arms before looking back at her, “Anyway, what’s your story? Why were you so worked up last night?”

Hiyori took a breath before laughing nervously, “I’m sure you’ll think I’m being over dramatic.”

He didn’t say anything, just waved his hand forward urging her to continue.

“It—it’s everything. I don’t even have room to breathe anymore. I’m constantly being asked a million questions or being watched even when I’m just trying to have some solitude. It’s a miracle I even managed to catch you like this. There’s just so many expectations, hundreds of invitations have been sent out, and I’ve been weighed down by literally everything ever since I got this.” She held out her hand to reveal an elaborate engagement ring, but she looked at it as if she wanted to do nothing more than rip it off of her finger and toss it into the sea.

Yato raised his eyebrows at the ring momentarily, thinking, ‘That thing’s probably worth more than anything I’ll ever make in my life.’ Looking up at her face, he asked, “Do you not love him, then?”

Hiyori dropped her hand and looked at him with wide eyes, “What?”

Rephrasing the question, he asked, “Do you love him?”

“T-that’s…” She coughed as if she had lost all the air in her body before she regained her composure, “That is a totally inappropriate question.”

“…It’s a really simple question, actually.” He put his hands on his hips and gave her a smug stare; sure that he already knew the answer.

“One that’s extremely rude and that I’m not obligated to answer.” She huffed in response, “Anyway, I invited you up here; this is my part of the ship. I think you should be heading back.”

Yato quirked an eyebrow, “Now look who’s being rude.”

Hiyori let out another huff before roughly grabbing his portfolio out of his arms, “What is this thing you’ve been carrying around all morning anyway?”

“It’s—” He reached out after it for a moment before letting his hand fall back to his side, “It’s my sketch book.”

The more she flipped through it, the more her mouth opened wide in awe. When she finally looked back up at him, she commented in a small voice, “These are really good.”

“Er, thanks.” He muttered sheepishly, looking down at his shoes.

“No, really. They’re very good.” She sounded awestruck.

Yato gave somewhat off a scoff, trying not to let her admiration go to his head, “Glad you think so, all the so called professional art critics don’t seem to agree.”

11. how do you choose the anime you watch? An animation style I like, character development, humor, and interesting story. It can have any or all of these qualities, I kinda just go for whatever interests me. It’s very rare I’ll continue watching something that I don’t initially like the animation style of though. Akatsuki no Yona was one of those and grew on me quickly.

12. skip or listen to intros/outros? Listen to for the first time, skip all the others unless I feel like listening to it.

13. best soundtrack? Don’t ask me this. ;~; Um.... probably Psycho Pass cause of how well it fit the story and how much effort was put into it. No to say other soundtracks don’t put in effort, it just showed a lot in Psycho Pass for me.

14. do you stop an anime midway if you don’t like it? It really depends. Most of the time I’ll try to finish it but if it is that bad I have to call it quits. I have a few that are on pause now and I just haven’t got back to giving them a second look.

　Before people fill up Nora/Mizuchi/Hiiro’s tag with silly and pointless hate against her character (if they didn’t already lmao) I want to point out a little something that’s relevant about her, something people often tend to dismiss.

　Nora and Yato share more or less the same ugly experience of child abuse. Yato might have learned here and there about human and society, but Nora has never had that chance.

　Why do I point this out you ask? What does it have to do with the kiss scene?

　I always like to mention about how Yato is an inept with social concepts, most evident in the way he shows his “love” (which is actually just obsession tbh). Nora though, due to her lack of contact with anyone at such a young age, is 1000% worse.

　While yes, there may be some intention behind her confession and kiss other than just a silly sudden show of affection, there’s a high chance she believes to be honest here, just like she believes her words are honest when she says them to Yato. Not saying that she does actually “truly love” Yukine, though. If there’s something she and Yato share is the fact that they don’t really know how to interpret their emotions, thus the reason why both read their obsessions as honest affection for their respective individuals.

　On Nora’s case though, she is obsessed with Yukine just the same way Bishamon was obsessed with Yato. Intense hate creates said sick obsession with the target, and with the knowledge she has about emotions, it’s probable that she took said fixation as some sort of twisted love. A fake love, but she might believe it IS honest.

　The kiss? I don’t think she had a full out bad intention with it. There’s a chance she thought that was the correct way to approach. Could she be trying to manipulate Yukine with her “feelings”? Absolutely. But while I don’t believe she truly feels love for him, I also don’t think she was just sputtering some silly lie.

　tl;dr: Stop hating her for the same reason you “aww” at Yato, thanks.

Chapter 36 - What is this about?

(possible manga spoilers up until chapter 54) (Also sorry I’m so late this week. I’m sick at the moment so everythig runs through queue. But I forgot the chapter so ... sorry (/v\)

“What in the world are you doing Hiyori?”, Yato asked, a confused expression on his face.

“NOTHING! DON'T LOOK!”, the half Ayakashi screamed and threw a towel in his face, trying to cover his eyes.

She was standing in their bedroom, her old school uniform's shirt halfway put over her head. It was a hilarious picture and Yato burst out laughing as soon as his mind had caught up on what he was seeing.

“STOP LAUGHING YOU IDIOT!”, she screamed embarrassed. “Why are you wearing your old uniform?”, he said, trying his best to hold back his laughter.

“I … I-I'm … I … just … w-wanted t-to … well … see i-if it still f-fit”, she answered.   “Looks like it does!”, Yato answered after Hiyori had pulled down the shirt.

It really did. It got slightly tighter at some parts but other than that, she looked just like twelve years ago. Like she was still the school girl Yato had met. The only thing that had changed was the length of her hair.

“Y-Yeah. It does”, she discovered surprised, “I thought that it, well ... wouldn't. Guess time doesn't change everything.”

“See? I told you that you haven't changed in all those years. You are still the same old Hiyori.”

“I … I think so”, she put on a little smile.

“You've been thinking about being older again haven't you?”, Yato asked after a short break.

“Yes. I can't help it!”, she sighed.

The blue eyed god took her hands and placed a kiss on the tip of her nose before he went over to the closet and started to look for something. Hiyori wanted to ask what he was looking for but right in that moment, Yato pulled out something and immediately started to take off his shirt and his track paints, revealing his favorite capypa underwear. Right when Hiyori was about to open her mouth and ask what he was doing, Yato put on her old uniform. Before she knew it, he stood in front of her wearing her old middle school uniform and smiled at her.

“See, I still fit in this one as well!”, he announced happily.

“Well you aren't aging you jerk!”, Hiyori retorted laughing and threw a pillow into his face.

“Hey!”, the god replied and threw the pillow back into her direction. “What are you doing?”, Tsuki, who had been listening through the half closed door, asked, making her way inside.

What she saw in front of her was the funniest thing she had ever seen. Her mother in her old High School uniform next to her father, wearing the same one that Tsuki was wearing. The young girl couldn't hold back her laughter, causing her parents to join her.

Caught by the commotion, Yukine peeked inside the room and he didn't know if he should run or laugh along. 

After he had witnessed a scene such as this, there was no way it could be unseen. Tsuki put on a devilish expression as soon as she spotted Yukine and said: “You know daddy, I got a spare uniform in my room.”

“OH NO!”, Yukine screamed after Yato's face showed the most terrifying grin he had ever seen. “Hold him!”, the god screamed and Tsuki jumped forward, dashing at her big brother. Yukine ran like he never ran before. Slippery floors didn't matter, he had to stay on his feet. Furniture was no obstacle for him, he just had to jump over it. Doors should not stop him, they only had to be opened way faster than usual. But it was no use. Tsuki had lured him into a trap and there was no where else to run off to. “Don't! Please! Tsuki I'm begging you! You can't do this to me!”, he desperately begged.

“Come on big brother, it's just for fun. It won't hurt I promise!”

“No! PLEASE! NOO!”

Luckily, Yukine was released from his suffering when Yato entered the room, holding his phone and telling him that they had been called out for a job.

Never before had the young boy been so glad that a job came in when it did.

“Let's go!”, he said and rushed to his master's side, “Oh and one last thing.”

“What?”, Yato asked confused.

“Put on normal clothes!”

After Yato was wearing his tracksuit again and he had said goodbye to Hiyori and Tsuki by giving them a kiss on the forehead, the two boys left.

Their job actually came from Tenjin and they helped him out by getting rid of a few Ayakashi that were threatening the students of a school nearby. If Tsuki had known what this job actually was about, she would have insisted on tagging along and use her powers but Yato would never agree to it. She was still learning how to handle her gift and those Ayakashi were way to big. How to deal with small ones, that was something she had become pretty good at but as soon as they got bigger, she wasn't able to get a connection yet. There was also the fact that Hiyori and Tsuki were planning on visiting her parents since the young girl hadn't seen her grandparents in a long time. She had been looking forward to this for weeks now and something like Ayakashi hunting shouldn't prevent her from spending time with her family. The task had been easy enough for the experienced team. Yato and Yukine were working together perfectly after all the years of practice they got. In practically no time the two boys were back at Tenjin's shrine again, where an unfamiliar figure was talking with the wise old god. A middle aged woman dressed in traditional garment was talking to Tenjin.   “This is rather sudden. I certainly do not remember anyone mentioning that another colloquy was taking place this year” the two boys could hear Tenjin say as they got closer.

“It is true that there has been no official announcement yet”, a soft female voice coming from the figure in front of Tenjin explained, “Anyhow, there have been recent events that require a colloquy as soon as possible. I've been send here in heavens behalf to bring you to the meeting place at once.”

“What is going on?”, Yato asked as soon as they reached the two. “Are you the Yato-god?”, the woman asked. “Yes.”

“Then I shall send you off to the heavens as well. A meeting has been ordered in behalf of her majesty and all the gods are to gather at once without further ado.”

“A colloquy? Now? Like, right now?”, the blue eyed god asked disbelieving.

“Yes.”

“W-Wait a minute. And what is it about? I mean, there must be a good reason for it if it can't wait!”

“I have not been ordered to talk about the reasons. I have not been informed about the reasons myself. My only task is to escort you to the meeting place. If there are no more questions, I would ask you to accompany me now.”

Of course there were a lot of questions left but the two gods had no chance to ask because all of them were immediately send to the heavens. Tenjin, Tsuyu, Yato and Yukine found themselves in the middle of the building where the gods usually gathered during their meetings.

The hall was full of other gods and their guideposts. There was a lot of commotion in the room since everyone was asking around if anyone knew the reason for this sudden action of the heavens.

“What the hell?”, Yato asked a little annoyed. “It appears we have no choice on weather we want to participate or not”, Tenjin asserted.

“Oh great. I have to message Hiyori and tell her that we will be gone for a while. Who knows how long this is going to take”, and as he spoke, Yato pulled out his phone and typed a text message for her.

“YATTY!”, the four of them heard a familiar voice from the distance.

Just a few steps away, the others were standing together in a group. Kofuku, Daikoku, Bishamon and Kazuma were now making their way over to their friends. “We were already looking for you! Do you have any idea what's going on here?”, the pink haired goddess asked.

“No”, Yato answered, “You don't know why we are here either?”

Everyone shook their heads at once. Slowly, Yato started to get a strange feeling.

“Did something like this ever happen? Such a sudden meeting? It seems like everyone is freaking out because of it”, Yukine asked curious, observing his surroundings.

“I guess it only happens pretty rarely. Last time they gathered everyone in a rush was … when … “, Kazuma started to explain. “When they sent the obligation force after Ebi”, Kofuku finished his sentence.

“But even so. They never sent us here immediately. We had no time whatsoever after the heaven's guards came to get us”, Bishamon added.

No one knew what to say until suddenly the group started to move. The gods were sent into the conference room while the guideposts were ordered to stay here for the time being.

Through the gaps in the massive group of gods Yato could make out the outlines of Ebisu trying to reach the others but he didn't manage to fight against the force of the group. Before they knew it, they were all covered by the anonymity of the conference room and couldn't tell where anybody was anymore.

And just like that, the colloquy began.

Notes:

Okay there is something that I think is really scary and I just have to get it off my chest. (NOT MANGA SPOILER FREE!!) I am writing all of these Chapters 1 month ahead. And every month when a new Chapter of Noragami comes out something similar is happening?!?! Like ... HOW? O.O It started when the Chapters about Yukine's name cracking were published and then in the Manga ... IT HAPPENED TOO! Then I was writing a chapter that included Kofuku and Daikoku ... and then the Chapter where it wasn't sure if Daikoku would survive came out! I've written a chapter where Hiyori got drunk and published it around the time when the Heaven arc came to an end and they gathered at Kofuku's to drink! I've written about Ebisu in a chapter after not mentioning him in a while ... AND HE GETS A CHAPTER IN THE MANGA AROUND THE TIME IT'S PUBLISHED!!! Now in this chapter Hiyori was trying on her old uniform ... AND THREE DAYS AGO IN THE CHAPTER SHE WAS WEARING HER OLD UNIFORM AS WELL!!! WHAT THE HELL HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE????? I swear I had no idea that these things were going to happen in the Manga when I created these chapters!! I wrote all of these things way before there were even raws out! (I've got someone to proove this btw lol xD) I'm starting to feel freaked out about this ... alright ... enough rambling. Hope you enjoyed the chapter! ^^

1: Are you named after someone?

Nope. I think my parents just liked my name.

2: When was the last time you cried?

I want to say it was the other day when reading about this woman and her husband’s struggle with ALS, but it was actually this evening... Today has been an off day for me, and I am unable to handle printers and my forgetfulness nd being late for class.

3: Do you like your handwriting?

Sometimes I like certain letter combinations, but truth be told, it’s bad.

4: What is your favorite lunch meat?

I don’t know what this means, but it certainly ain’t the same three meals I’ve been eating on rotation for the past few months.

5: Do you have kids?

Are we talking about fictional characters? Because yes. My precious sons, Yukine, Atsushi, Titus, Nagisa, and probably some other precious babies I’m forgetting about since my memory stinks (and I’m a terrible mama). Also, my beloved daughter, Kyouka.

6: If you were another person, would you be friends with you?

No. Probably not. I don’t have the courage to speak to strangers, so we would never talk.

Yes, I do.

I think so.

I don’t really like cereal too much, but there are cereals I like more than others. Uh...cocoa puffs, frosted miniwheats, cinnamon toast crunch, honey nut cheerios (before the cheerio aftertaste kicks in), and honey o’s (I think that’s what they’re called.

11: Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?

I don’t touch my shoelaces unless it’s necessary, and by necessary, I don’t mean when they are untied. I’m okay with that. I mean when they aren’t untied but look kind of loose. That annoys the hell out of me.

12: Do you think you’re a strong person?

No. Can’t say I do. Although I do think I can throw a pretty mean punch (at least for someone of my stature). And I’m pretty good at lifting some weights for a decent distance, but still no.

13: What is your favourite ice cream? Ever, ever?

I’m not the biggest ice cream fan (strange, I know), but I think it’s Milk & Cookies. That is just the perfect blend of goodness.

14: What is the first thing you notice about people?

I think I notice their hair. I don’t really know.

15: What is the least favorite physical thing you like about yourself

Are we talking about appearances because then my legs (I feel like they grow three sizes when I sit down...) or this annoying facial hair thing that is out to destroy my confidence. If we are not necessarily talking about appearances, then my stomach. We have a mutual hatred for each other.

Light blue jeans and these cute purple socks with rainbow flecks and adorable teddy bears on them. No shoes.

The sound of my keys typing. I’m not listening to anything.

Uh... Brown. Just plain old brown.  Doesn’t really stand out and doesn’t exactly want to (but actually kind of does)

I don’t really think of smells unless I’m smelling them, but I guess, I like the smell of barbecues or campfires. It reminds me of when I walked home from school after Jazz Band in the spring months which was pleasant. I have this bear which smells like butterscotch, too, and it’s amazing.

I’ve skyped my sister, but on the phone phone, I think it was my mom.

Episode 2 of Katangatari. This anime has been a trip so far. Right now, I’d definitely recommend. We shall see though at the end.

I actually hate a lot of sounds, but sounds I like, rain taps are pleasant when the sun’s still out at night they transform into lurking predatory footsteps with my wild imagination. I also love Mamoru Miyano’s voice and talent. I’ve just become obsessed thanks to Bungou Stray Dogs. Second season episode four. mmhm. That is some good stuff. in term’s of voice acting. content wise, I cry.

·       I find it really hard to finish things. I’ve got an entire album’s worth of songs that I’ve started but never finished, and an entire library’s worth of book ideas waiting to be written. I need an end goal and a deadline to finish anything rip.

·       I’m so so so so so pale. I live in one of the sunniest places in the world and I can’t tan. Oh well. Less skin cancer I suppose.

·       My family owns so many books. Like, so many. Every room has a bookshelf, and we have a dedicated library. I’ve never run out of things to read.

But in truth, you really needed him right now, you really wanted him to tell you that everything was going to be all right, because at this moment, it felt like everything has come crashing down on you, and there’s nothing you can do to stop it.

To your surprise, the door opened.

“(Y/N)?” Yangyang looked surprised. “What’s wrong?”

“It’s over…” was all you were able to say, you were afraid that you were going to burst into tears if you spoke any longer. Yangyang looked behind you before letting you in.

You sat on the couch, looking around at the dull apartment that surrounded you. Yangyang disappeared for a moment, but came back with a blanket, a DVD, and a tub of ice cream.

“You know, I’m not the best when it comes to relationships, but I think I know my best friend enough to know what will make her feel better,” he smiles.

“That better be the full collection of the Bachelor in your hands, Liu,” you sniffled.

“Even better,” he shows you the cover. “It’s the special collector's edition.”

“Ugh, I fucking love you. Put that shit on.”

“Hell yeah,” Yangyang wrapped the blanket around you and pushed the DVD in. He grabbed the remote and sat next to you, easily draping his legs over your own just as he did for years. He sighs and plays the first episode. “You know, (Y/N), I don’t want to rush things, especially since… you know.”

“Yeah. I do.”

“Look, (Y/N), are you sure that the relationship only ended today?” There were very few times when your best friend was serious, and you knew that when he was you had to listen.

“Now that I think back to it… I think it ended months ago, but I was too afraid to leave, I didn’t think I had anywhere to turn to,” you sighed. Yangyang put his hand over his heart.

“I am… hurt.”

“Noooo, I didn’t mean it like that,” you cried softly. “I just… I didn’t want to seem like a bother to you, Yangyang.”

“(L/N) (Y/N) I have done literally everything with you, half of those things should’ve landed us in jail.”

“You mean like the time we impulse stole a car?”

“Yes. If you think I wouldn’t let you move in after your shitty boyfriend technically broke up with you but not really because he manipulated you into staying in an unhealthy relationship where he just used you and toyed with your feelings to get you wholly emotionally dependent of him and just drop you once he was bored with you then you are wrong. I would literally take a bullet for you.”

“That was… oddly specific,” you chuckled. “But very much appreciated.”

“(Y/N),” Yangyang paused the Bachelor. “I have to tell you something important, and I’m only saying this because I know if I wait longer, I’m only going to chicken out again.”

“Go ahead, Yangyang.”

“I love you,” he says. You looked at him, you were trying to process what he just said to you.

“What?” You genuinely just wanted to hear him say it again.

Tsubasa Kazanari: "Considering the facility was under F.I.S.'s control, there were plenty of things that I'd call suspicious."

Genjuro Kazanari: "We don't know how fast Nephilim matures by consuming relics, but we mustn't let it reach its complete form."

???: "I don't have time to tell you my life story, but let's just say that I'm not your enemy."

???: "So, do you happen to have Gjallarhorn by any chance?"

Wielders: "What?!"

Aoi Tomosato: "Yeah, the city was saved, and our wielders made it back alive, but..."

Genjuro Kazanari: "Where in the world did that woman come from?"

Aoi Tomosato: "When she disappeared, several life forms in the area vanished from our readings at the same time."

Aoi Tomosato: "It's likely she didn't come alone."

Genjuro Kazanari: "Could she have come from a group with a technology to easily drive off that monster?"

Miku Kohinata: "We saved not only her body, but also her soul from being eroded away."

Genjuro Kazanari: "I can't believe that she removed only the corroded parts so cleanly. What a surprising turn of events."

Tsubasa Kazanari: "Are you talking about Tachibana's medical check?"

Genjuro Kazanari: "Yeah, Miku-kun's light removed all of the affected tissue from her body."

Genjuro Kazanari: "And of course, that includes the energy we assumed was from the Karma Noise. She's as clean as a whistle."

Sakuya Fujitaka: "But if the Gungnir fragments have all been removed, then she can't wield it anymore."

Genjuro Kazanari: "Yeah, I am slightly disappointed to be losing a fighter, but that's a small price to pay for her life."

Genjuro Kazanari: "By the way, Ryoko-kun should also be returning shortly, shouldn't she?"

Aoi Tomosato: "Yes. She'll be very surprised to hear we found someone compatible with the Shenshoujing pendant she made."
