jing yuan and silver wolf

jing yuan may be old but he engages in internet trolling so i think he is actually fairly hip... in modern au this translates to silver wolf assuming he isn't going to get her jokes or behavior across the (minimal) generational gap and then being pleasantly surprised and dare i say even impressed when he matches her just fine

THEY GAME TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!! really excited about this because i love gaming. 😎🎮 LMFAO but yes i think jing yuan would play competitive video games with her and he is better than blade and so more of a challenge. she enjoys it. she still wins though. jing yuan is always a graceful loser

silver wolf be needing a parental figure even if she won't admit it and she kind of sees jing yuan as one (jing yuan just sees her as blade's younger friend though rip) (but he is kind and takes care of everybody and brings her things she'll like)

she would wingman blade if renjing weren't already together... she approves of jing yuan and thus she ships renjing blade go get your wife so the rest of us can also keep him

jing yuan and firefly

okay i admit i have few thoughts about firefly but i did brush up on her lore for this. modern au firefly strikes me as someone whose life was decided as being on one path by her parents, but now that she's in college, she's realizing the whole world is her oyster and learning to figure out what she wants and hopping between all sorts of different hobbies and experiencing all facets of life and also having an undecided major. LMFAO

anyway in light of this i think it would be cute if jing yuan accompanied her to different events... took painting classes with her went to museums with her... maybe gave her some guidance... he is all about how life can be worth living no matter what i think they would have synergy on this

AND THEY WOULD EAT GOOD FOOD TOGETHER 👏👏👏

jing yuan and kafka

kafka is the most mysterious of this crew... i think i already said this but i don't think that she and jing yuan would get along initially. their vibes are opposing. more importantly he's sort of suspicious she's leading blade down the wrong path. however they are both mature adults they can have a conversation and come to an agreement that they want blade to figure himself out and find his own way. and i think in a pining situation kafka would absolutely be the one to give jing yuan his dose of reality regarding blade's feelings... not without a fair bit of obfuscation though 😌💄

jing yuan and kafka would drink wine together and they are BOTH classy about it

they would also go shopping together and make blade drive them AND carry all of their things AND pay for jing yuan thanks blade (kafka buys her own at least)

blade likes driving jing yuan because he loves jing yuan but driving jing yuan and kafka together is insufferable because after they become friendly acquaintances they will not stop talking they are YAPPERS

they also visit art galleries together and have extended cerebral discussions that no one else can understand and they're both the type to get so engaged in the conversation they forget about blade (jing yuan doesn't actually forget he just knows blade doesn't mind standing around silently waiting for them to finish) (doesn't mind for the first hour at least...)

in canon... i don't think jing yuan and kafka could ever get along, sorry. even if they could speak and he could understand her motivations he would never ever forgive her for treating blade as a weapon. he might reluctantly appreciate her for helping suppress his mara with spirit whisper. but he would never forgive her for it.

i’m (mostly) content with not knowing the names of a decent chunk of the freelancers. a little mystery can be a good thing, and i think some questions are okay to be left unanswered. doesn’t bother me that much. (although it would be really funny if burnie decided to retroactively give a bunch of them names on twitter or something now that the show is over. "oh btw guys, maine's name was craig")

but sometimes. sometimes i think about how when tex finds york in out of mind and calls him york, he says that he hasn't been called that in a really long time.

which implies to me that while they were alone, he was able to get delta to start calling him by his real name - something delta would not repeat where anyone else could hear, not even after york’s death.

when do you think delta said his name for the first time?

was it at york’s coaxing? was he actively trying to get him to do it - assuring him that it was okay, that he wouldn't get in trouble? was it something he worked at for ages in the hopes of it bringing them even closer? trying to prove they could still work outside the context of the project? that they would be okay?

or was it a spur of the moment decision on delta’s part? maybe said in a moment of panic after an injury, worry overshadowing everything else and feeling a need for something stronger to call him, something with a greater impact? was it a loud exclamation in a passionate heated moment - or perhaps said quietly in a gentle one, whispered softly into the night like lovers do. it’s part of what makes us human, delta.

"Thump! Thump! Thump!" Nosy hears something knocking on the door of his Majesty's dorm room. It is late at night on All Hallows' Eve, and the castle seems eerie and spooky even for such an occasion. It seems that all the other students have fallen dead asleep as nobody as much as stirs to get up and open the door. The thumps continue, and the longer the door it closed, the more insistent they become.

Does Nosy dare opening the door to be met face to face with a fierce pumpkin monster of approximately his size, sporting 6 little stumpy legs and sharp pumpkin teeth?

The castle was unusually quiet that All Hallows' Eve. Shadows stretched long across the walls as the candles flickered dimly, their light barely holding back the creeping darkness. All the students were fast asleep, tucked snugly in their beds. But one creature, the teal-furred menace himself, was still very much awake and snuggled deep in Sebastian’s mop of hair.

"Thump! Thump! Thump!"

Nosy's ears twitched at the sound. Someone - or something - was knocking at the door. The little Niffler tilted his head, considering his options. He could ignore it, of course, and return to the warmth of Sebastian's hair. But… what if something shiny was waiting on the other side? The thought of a new treasure made his little heart flutter with excitement.

The thumps grew louder and more insistent, echoing ominously through the room. Nosy sat up, his teal fur bristling slightly as he glanced around the room. Sebastian and William were still snoring like babies, entirely oblivious to the disturbance! Fine, Nosy huffed to himself. Nosy will deal with this himself!

Scrambling down from his companion's head, Nosy's little paws tapped lightly against the cold stone floor. The knocking continued, relentless and demanding. Puffing out his chest, Nosy waddled to the door, ready to face whatever dared disturb his night. He sniffed at the dark crack beneath the door and squinted suspiciously. His nose twitched again, searching for danger - or treasure. That smell was familiar...

But before he could react—

BOOM!

The door flew wide open, and Nosy froze. There it was: a pumpkin monster, no taller than the Niffler himself, but far less terrifying. The pumpkin lunged forward, clicking its legs as it skittered into the room. Nosy let out a startled honk and scrambled backward, his eyes wide with shock. But only for a moment.

Recovering quickly, Nosy narrowed his eyes. A challenge? His teal fur puffed up. How dare this gourd invade the Teal King’s domain?! With a defiant honk, Nosy darted to his little nest in the wardrobe, where he grabbed his trusty pea shooter.

With a fierce honk, he fired his first shot at the pumpkin menace, the pea bouncing harmlessly off the gourd's jagged grin. The pumpkin lunged again, snapping its jagged teeth, but Nosy was too quick, skidding behind the silky pillow fort he'd built with Charlie earlier that day.

From behind the fort, Nosy let loose another volley of peas. One struck the pumpkin square between its grinning eyes, making it stumble backward with a guttural "Gourrrr!"

Honking victoriously, Nosy leapt from his fort, landing on the gourd's back with a ferocious chirp. Grabbing its stem with both paws, Nosy yanked with all his might. The pumpkin monster swayed, spinning in circles, before finally toppling over with a resounding THUD!

Perched proudly atop his defeated foe, Nosy puffed out his chest and let out a long, smug honk. Victory! His little tail wagged in satisfaction, daring any other intruders to try their luck against the Teal King.

Headcanon that Junko is secretly a nerd for video games despite her talent. She makes a good amount of references in the JP version. (You will literally hear the words "GOD OF WAR" in one of her lines from SDR2 in the OG dub.)

She almost never let's anyone know the fact she's a gamer besides a few people.

I know this is semi canon with one of the Monokuma Theaters where she grew up hanging around Yasuke's (presumably) friends. She used her talent to absorb strategies and knew how to beat it but was never able to get to play.

Junko's a media junkie. She loves planting references to random comics, animes, video games, ect.
