The Silmarillion ultimate playlist

It’s the time of Spotify wrap-ups and whatnot and this gave me an idea: let’s make a giant, collaborative playlist for the Silmarillion!

Drop the songs that make you think of a specific character, your OCs, relationship, event, place, or just gives you major Silm Vibes in the reblogs and tags. Put links to them, write essays about these songs if you want, or just reblog to share further, but the goal is to have fun and discover as many songs as possible.

Figured we should make it clear what is going on on this blog! Events here are based on an RP Group on Paintberri! The vague overall plot: Taking place in a pocket space dubbed "New Game City", characters find themselves 'awake' with new life of their own. How? Well it seems a strange "rogue program" has been going around making these characters sentient.

Dubbing itself their care taker, The Program created New Game City. A safe haven for any Player or Non-player character. It's a place where they have control of their own thoughts and actions... With such newfound freedom; being tied down to the whims of some random person feels like a cruel punishment.

There are a lot of games out there... so the server in which the city hides away in may as well be a huge gaming melting pot! You never know who you may see!

....Yet. Something just doesn't feel right about all of it. What is this Program striving for?

Between Pizza and Cards This blog will take majority focus on the things that happen between @skully-drawls and @sejii! We are the mods of this blog and post our stuff here with each others permission!

There is an overall story for the group and stories between characters personal experiences with newfound sentience. Hurraayy!

Consider it an AU if you wish! This is a world in which game logic and programming (including those pesky bugs) is very prominent!

Do you have any preliminary headcanons for your character going into Dawntrail? If not, have you ever had ideas for your character(s) based on upcoming expansions and how did they morph/change as you played through the story?

I actually, really don't!

I don't plan out how/why my characters pick new jobs up; I want to see how the new job plays and what it's lore and story actually is before deciding how and why my gals might get to it, or if I want to tweak it at all. I'm not spending too much effort on baseless plot and NPC speculation and making intricate plans that will be jossed by level 93 and how MSQ actually does unfold.

The closest I ever came to pre-planning anything for an expac was "we're going to Thavnair; I'll finally get lore to flesh out some of Aeryn's family stuff and decide how to fit in my headcanons for them" (as I purposefully made them a minority ethnic group in Thavnair for the reasons we had only a little lore for so many years, and no nation is a monolith anyway, and then the writers' discussion at previous FanFest 2023 panels really drove home how they tried to make Thavnair a diverse melting pot culture due to its history and trade position, so that worked out). But even then I waited until I actually played through MSQ to really decide what to adjust or keep.

A reason I go through with Dark Autumn first is to just enjoy the story (or not) as it comes, to get my own knee jerk reactions and feelings out of the way. And then I go through again on Aeryn or C'oretta and see how the story's constructed to reach the finale, and consider my WoL's reactions, thoughts, and feelings, and where that takes her story. Sometimes my opinion on certain things may even change, or I get a different idea for how it looks and works when seeing it again and considering the IC angles on that new run.

I might still do so when going through my 3rd or 4th time on alts or in NG+, even years later, as I've changed since then and also seen later storyline and how they go together now.

And then I probably spend a few years playing within those lines and scenes and ideas in my fanfic. But I also tend to keep my WoL fairly close to the canon storyline for the most part and with as close as I can get to the canon depictions of the NPCs. Other, own story stuff tends to happen based on interactions with friends and their writing, or random ideas at random times and deciding if they work or not (like Corran's history and Avengret hitting me out of nowhere based on prompts).

Also it's kinda nice to just open the expac on Day 1 with no real expectations or preconceptions, just letting story and gameplay roll in and sweep me along with them. Frankly, I think more folks really ought to give that a try, instead of pitching fits over how the expansion wasn't all they hoped and dreamed and so was a giant disappointment based on...what? Fanon? Headcanon? Speculation? Hopes for complicated plans they made for their OCs based on out of context lines and screens from FanFest and the trailers?

Just try experiencing a story for what it is and what it's trying to do, not self-hyped preconceptions, in any direction.

I dunno. A lot of words to say that I just like seeing how the world is written and presented, as it hits my characters and determine their plots that way, not ahead of time. I want to be inspired by the gameworld, not try to twist it into something it isn't (and will never be) when I can just write in my own original settings for that. My creation in FF14 is fanfiction on the story and characters presented.

Also I really am just tied up in my original writing at the moment, new MSQ will be a break and brief bout of new fandom creativity.

AMAI ODAYAKA

I'm a little disappointed in Amai's current week since her 'challenge' was much more fun! So I thought I'd redesign her week a little bit. She will meet Taeko on a nearby bench, looking upset! She will check up on her to ask whats wrong and learn that Taeko had lost a good friend of hers(Kokona). Amai will try to cheer her up. This will cause Taeko to gain a new friend, much to Ayano's dismay... Though Amai only wants to be friends with Taeko, the Informast will gaslight Ayano to see her as 'a threat'. So! Here is how I will see her week! THE WEEK:

During Amai's week, a bake sale will be running! The sale will be raising money to help Amai's family bakery from going out of business. It will be a little bit bigger than the real thing. Stands will be in the middle area of the school, which will make it more populated. On Friday, there will be a bake off! Students who aren't part of the cooking club can also join! The faculty will be judging the cooking. The incinerator will also be shut down during the week!

UNIQUE ELIMINATIONS: Poisoning-It would be interesting too! You need to put lethal poison in Amai's, or the whole club's, cooking after they put it out. Chef's taste their food before serving, so you can either poison Amai or a random student, framing her for murder. Gas Leaks-Basically her elimination on Thursday Oven Accident-On Friday, Amai will try to bake the best pastry she's ever made for the Bake off! She'll use the oven in the cooking club since she wants nobody to steal her idea. While she's opening the oven to check her batter you can push her in the oven and close it. This can also be an option to bake her into your own meal for the competition, like a meat loaf or something! Boiled Alive-You need to join the cooking club for this! On Friday, you can make your own meal for the competition! In the cooking club room, grab a pot and fill it with water. Boil it on the stove. Ask Amai for a favor to follow you into the club. Then, you can shove her face into the boiling water to kill her! Her screams will attract nearby students though.

CANON ELIMINATION: Anything lethal! I think the last three options would work best! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

KIZANA SUNOBU

My favorite rival!! I'm so excited for her week! Taeko will meet Kizana outside of a local theater. Taeko will be walking along the street sadly, bumping into Kizana. The indrocution will happen, like the canon one, where Kizana inspires Taeko to use her sadness for creativity. Then, she will unofficially cast her as the lead role for Romeo in the upcoming school play! Kizana is absolutely in love with Taeko's beauty and character, much to Ayano's dismay. After the play, Kizana will confess her feelings to her in a dramatic fashion underneath the cherry tree. THE WEEK: During Kizana's week, the Drama club will be practicing in the school gym. The sports club will no longer warm up, since chairs will be in their way, so they'll warm up outside. The Photography club will sometimes stop by, much like last week, to capture photos for the school website. On Friday, the play will take place after cleaning time, so the meeting for club leaders will take place thursday. Kizana will also wear different hairstyles during each day of the week. UNIQUE ELIMINATIONS: Sandbag-A boring yet classic idea. You will walk on the top of the stage, cut the rope, and watch the sandbag fall on kizana. Acid Makeup-A fun idea I saw once on tumblr(can't find it, but credits to whoever made it!). In the chemistry lab, you will need to make a chemical equation for burning acid. On Friday, put the acid in Kizana's makeup. Once she walks onstage, her makeup and face will melt onto the stage Humiliation-Basically humiliating Kizana on stage. This will cause her to switch schools. I was thinking it could be like a carrie situation. Put blood(faking it as animal blood), paint, or gasoline in a bucket and walk on the bridge above the stage. Once Kizana's on stage, pour the contents over her. This will cause many students to laugh and points at her. The bullies will take pictures and post about it on social media. Driven to Murder-This involve Kizana. Over the week, Kizana will bully and humiliate Kokona for stealing her unique style(purple hair, drills, following her around) even though Kokona admires her. Gossip to Kizana, lying to her about how Kokona will do something bad to get the lead role. This will cause Kizana to freak out and humiliate Kokona in front of a bunch of people(Not Taeko). Kokona will feel horrible an try to seclude herself, leaving the Drama club. You can convince Kokona to kill Kizana during the play, which everyone will see. Humiliation 2-Basically Driven to Murder, except Taeko sees the true Kizana . Taeko will discipline Kizana, saying she's a horrible person and that bullying is not okay. Taeko will quit the Drama club, no longer talking to Kizana. This will leave Kizana heartbroken. The play will go on Friday, except Tsuzuru will be Romeo CANON ELIMINATION: Again, anything lethal! Does anyone else get haunted by the knowledge that in a few hundred years from now (yes I'm gonna be an optimist and hope there will be humans in a few hundred years) that people are going to look back at our written words and laugh themselves silly over what they find? Sure if our digital age continues at least that might be slightly less awful to read but you know the amount of errors and misspellings we do because we've been taught 'hooked on phonics' and what have you. Which might be serviceable for learning how to read but is complete and utter shit for teaching people to spell?

And since we've frankly gotten lazy and so used to our little pocket computers auto correcting our spelling that if we have to actually write something out then we're fucked. So we know this NOW but imagine what people 500 or 100 years from now are going to think when they find exant writing and immediately lose their shit like we do over middle english? (much less old english) The general populace is pretty much oh, look at those silly, quaint and uneducated people putting their ye and their olde's into everything, etc. And like….completely ignoring the fact it was literally just a handful of languages thrown into a stew pot and left to melt into a bastardized version of SOMETHING. So we look at it and it just looks like a typo riddled hot mess to our modern eye.

Now imagine someone finding our exant modern writing examples and tell me they wouldn't do the same thing. All those desperate attempts at phonetically trying to spell certain words and our utter and miserable failures. Not to mention our SLANG, often completely centralized in certain areas. Philly's infamous Jawn comes to mind right off the top of my head. Or AAVE. I'm clearly speaking from a English speaking American POV but I know other languages and cultures have the same fun flavors and things that make language so endlessly fascinating.

Also imagine someone finding our tumblr blogs with our widdle meow meow and our blorbos, our baby girls and any of a dozen weird tumblr specific vernacular which is kinda it's own weird tumblr ecosystem dialect.

These poor bastards in the future are going to be SO CONFUSED. And at LEAST we have a centuries long record of how the English language has evolved and changed over the years to help guide us. But for dead languages or ones that don't have that rich history of documentation? Lets say some awful global event happens and we lose their history, they're going to be even more confused by our little meow meows because maybe something like the knowledge cats = meow survives because it's so prevelant. But why the fuck are we calling these random characters who have no feline features our little meow meows?

So yeah, that's the shit I think about sometimes. And it haunts me.

flower infection: in this floor you're in a random place where a lot of pink flowers are growing and if you touch them you get the flowers growing on you and it takes off 4 hp and to stop the flowers when the floor starts you get a temporary item to cut the flowers but you have to cut only a random amount of red flowers not pink red and then after you cut all the red flowers one of the npcs that were hiding behind a corner Lili or Emma will enter the elevator

Appleville: Splitville reskin or something that's like splitville

Planet Gars: In this floor you're in Gnarpy's planet called Gars and you have to survive the gnarpians because they're following you and attacking you with lares guns if you survive there's a 20% chance that Gnarpy Will enter the elevator and a 50% chance Ximmy will enter the elevator or a 10% Zenith the elevator

Gradient land: in this floor you are in Gradient land gradient land is a place full of gradient creatures in this floor there's a little shop where you can buy the gradient potions that will turn your avatar into a random gradient and there's a 50% that Lunar gradient or Epic gradient will enter the elevator if you buy something from their shop

Ice cream world floor: in this floor you're in a place that's completely made of ice cream that somehow doesn't melt and players can take random ice cream they find in that floor and get it as an item that gives them 5 hp and in this floor Crem would be able to enter the elevator

i guess it'd be kind of lame just to answer with " my style is virtually a culmination of everything i have ever seen before & liked in art " huh;

it's kind of hard to say for certain?

this is going to sound. so silly. but off the top of my head, i want to say that my biggest, prominent influences was the mlpfim artstyle & fucking. danganronpa

the thicker lines & the more vector-like, toony aspects i'd attribute to my little pony ( particularly the denser top eyelashes i draw on characters, if you've noticed; ), & danganronpa really encouraged me to practice a more " realistic " style with more wrinkles on clothes, details to the skin, & balanced proportions ( not that that style has that with everyone's long as stupid fuck legs, among other things ), & having practiced drawing in those styles before, if not having outright tried to mimic them, has pushed me forward to a massive degree i believe.

YOU SEE, if you haven't noticed by this point, i'm a bit of a style-mimicker / copier. when drawing a character from their respective cartoon or media, more often than not, i'm drawing in that show's style or something similarly adjacent. & having DONE that for so long, learning how to get my hands around the style & all of it's ins & outs, THEN allows me to sample elements & techniques that i can put into MY OWN artstyle.

& i'm not saying that works for everyone or that you ought to do it too ( though i might recommend it! ), but it worked for me! & now my artstyle is a melting pot of everything mine eyes have ever seen.

BUT I WILL SAY! when it comes to coloring, which i've had / i have a bit of a harder time with i will admit, i've recently been taking inspiration from SPECIFICALLY @/kanrix & my sibling @/tomiechu! or at least they're the ones i can name off the top of my head beyond random images i find online or All of My Friends. they have good heads around pleasing, interesting, & befitting palettes for the drawings they create & you best BELIEVE my eyestrain or die loving ass is taking tips.

Hello, this is my first post!

Here are some things you should know:

1) This is a random melting pot of whatever I come up with. Expect random stuff I won't know how to organize.

2) Please expect me not to upload stuff much. I tend to forget that social media outside of Discord exists, and if I do remember, then I just lurk and don't post.

3) I have a big project, and I'm still storyboarding (because I don't have the things to bring it to reality YET), so please expect to see a ton of oc's. And I mean a TON.

Pokémon: Blossom of the Soul

(Some parts of the story will make more sense if you play Tentin Redux, The Light in Our Hearts, and The Camry Legend 2 before hopping in this game!)

The Caracara region, although far apart from Camry, Tentin, or Dulyn, is a popular destination for all Trainers in the entire world. Due to its status as a melting pot, many opposing ideas combine. Many years before the events of the story, a mysterious group of people named the Island Protection Squad pledged to revive the region, which was struggling with climate change and pollution. Unfortunately, the group assumed too much power, and destroyed one of the islands. Due to this sudden act, they were banished from the region, then later disbanded. Present day, you and your friend go on a journey with two characters, a kind girl named Myrtle, and a mysterious, aggressive, and sword-wielding girl nicknamed Blade. You travel through the Caracara region, still feeling the effects of the Island Protection Squad all those years ago.

Sally Skellington Fudge

3 cups White Chocolate Chips – The smooth and creamy base that ensures your fudge is perfectly sweet.

Food Coloring Gel in Black, Yellow, Pink, and Teal – These colors bring the fudge to life, representing the eclectic and vibrant nature of Sally’s character.

Prepare Pan: Begin by lining an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper. Make sure the parchment has an overhang on the sides for easy removal of the fudge once set.

Melt Ingredients: In a medium pot, combine the white chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Heat this mixture over low to medium heat, stirring continuously, until everything is completely melted and combined into a smooth consistency.

Add Vanilla: Stir in the vanilla extract to infuse the fudge with its warm, aromatic essence.

It isn’t soon before his body starts to shudder at the unexpected gain, liquid flowing down his chin as he couldn’t even close his mouth.

The noises he’s making… wet, sticky sounding gags coming out as he’s forcing the meat into himself. And with a final shudder, he’s completely consumed the offered meat.

Well, while he did that I got some water to drink and started eating some fruit nearby. If you only eat meat you’ll get indigestion!

The rest of the group crawls over to me, I think they want some of it? I do clearly still have a few more and that guy really seemed to like it.

Why have I never done a post cannon AU for DA2? Hmm... Where would everyone likely be? Will we know that Fenris ends up in Tevinter, and Varric *can* end up the viscount but regardless it's likely in Kirkwall, Hawke might be in the fade but for this let's say no. Anders... Well, if we assume him to be alive, then half of Thedas wants him dead, so in a way Tevinter would be the safest place, but I doubt Anders would approve of a lot of Tevinters nonsense...

Oh! Let's create a town in Tevinter that Anders would feel useful in and likely end up. Let's also design it in a way that makes Fenris at least occasionally visiting mage sense... And then I can have Hawke, Varric, and a few others hear rumours of "The Healer" in this random town and go find him, getting pulled into helping people and political nonsense in the process.

I'd say they're all the same. In the AU there are hybrids and different species mingling and mixing so it's fairly common or at least normal. I'd say it's probably the Overworld with the most mix of hybrids and other species just because it's so vast. The Nether and the End being more closed off probably doesn't have as much. Ranboo is still half enderman, half something. Phil and Wilbur are avians. Quackity is part avian. Techno part piglin. It's a melting pot of species.

I don't but I really really want to. Because I think chat messages can be so good for the lore side of things. Like when Tommy's death was shown in chat so the others reacted. I'd love for something like that in the AU. Maybe I'll think more on it. Your question has inspired me.

rewatched trolls world tour, the new trolls, and disney's wish

dreamworks' character design game is unbeatable, all the characters in the trolls movies are so delicious-looking. i really liked the betty-spaghetty people in band together.

was such a good joke lmao. the trolls movies don't take themselves too seriously so ig i dont have high expectations for like, a grandiose plot or masterful storytelling. they're good at what they do.

disney's wish was... alright. i watched a camcorder recording so the quality wasn't super great, but it looked like a lot of pastels and limited palettes. it especially stood out after just having watched two trolls movies lol. the music was not my favorite, a lot of the songs struck me as cheesy, and not in a particularly fun way. like, i didn't walk away humming anything. i felt like the soundtrack was afraid of sounding too broadway and that hurt it because some of the songs ended up sounding too generic, very greatest showman of them. i liked that rosas was like, a melting-pot kingdom, that was cute.

It is with great ANGER I inform you that I have been beset with another moment akin to, months ago, that I saw images of prototaxite fossils.

Some of you may recall my post from some time ago, regarding my theory (Though not presumably mine, cause frankly I'd be really surprised if I actually was the first to suggest this concept.) that the mountain Leyndell is built on top of, as well its crater, crater lake, central island *to* that crater lake, the incredibly long vertical chamber ending with the Forsaken Depths, the Deeproot Depths themselves, and the formations of the Siofra and Ainsel Rivers (Google images of 'lava tubes' and compare them to the entrance areas of Ainsel, to quickly see what I mean for those ones, specifically.) all seem to indicate that what I have been referring to lately as 'Mt Leyndell,' was in-fact, an active volcano, looooong in the past.

I have literally SO much fucking circumstantial evidence that can be framed to support this theory. It's a blast.

Come that part of "Episode 2," (I'll be announcing the new-and-improved forecast for all of that on Monday, as planned.) you'll see what I mean for yourself. So I'm not gonna go into any other details here.

The real point of this post is, just like the first time this happened, that moments ago I found another piece of what is, to confirm, literally just circumstantial evidence. The only proof is in my eyeballs, just as before, it's literally just appearances. That I nonetheless find so completely random in how precise it is, that I can scarcely imagine what else kind of reveal it could be foreshadowing.

Assuming, of course, that it *is* specifically, foreshadowing *something,* in the first place. Which is not an insignificant assumption to make.

My own literal lack of imagination is of course not a sign of any clairvoyance. The video that will include the covering of this topic itself will go over it all properly, and there is a *lot* I still haven't said, regarding my so-called 'Mt Leyndell,' and ensuing potential implications for the rest of the story, if such a thing was actually revealed. ('Mt Leyndell' isn't even the actual name of the topic as a whole.)

(And if you want to be cheeky about it, too. The four colours currently associated with the powers of the Elden Ring: Black, Yellow, Orange, and Red, are also all found in lava as well! With the molten rock itself, and then the hardened outer crust of it. And there's also the interaction between the Rune of Death and obsidian as expressed through the Godslayer equipment and, then there's the whole Capital of Ash thing, with embers falling down from the sky for days upon days proceeding it and then, uh... hm...............)

I think I am beating around the bush.

To shorten it all, then: "Get excited!" and the random-ass fucking HAIR on Marika's hammer in the E3 reveal teaser, a trillion fucking years ago for this game, is fucking pele's hair.

No shit the magic of the Fire Giants all look the way they do, then, don't they? No shit, the 'Draconian' preset, from the character creator, says they didn't LIVE for very long, isn't it!? No shit, a tree sprouting next to a mountain with a lake on top, would be given a moniker like 'the melting pot of ancient life' during the age of the ancient dragons where that same tree, during the *current* age, for no clear reason, isn't! As well as why the powers of the Elden Ring, responsible for the Living Jars, are drawn the otherwise completely random thematic connection to STEWING.

And so on and so on. I'm of course just teasing. You'll see all of this and more (and as a lot more interesting, I hope, than all this is appearing here) in that video itself.

Will it be eventually revealed somehow that my identification is wrong, and that this and everything else had actually been foreshadowing something else entirely!? Heavens-to-betsy, I'm going to be furious if it doesn't.

i think it might have to do with the fact he was born and raised in the US (both han and sung kang). so maybe they weren’t as exposed to that part of the asian culture as much. and definitely living in the usa they would want to blend in more with that crowd as they are the majority. then again the us is a melting pot by itself.

he’s definitely confident in his skin and it’s definitely a thing sung kang gave han as part of the character and it goes hand in hand. han is a chameleon and he’s a con artist in a way. they need to have that confidence to be able to pull off most of the things they do!
