this time last year i was probably sitting in the kitchen while my dad started making an early dinner of chicken bolognese trying not to get too nervous about the concert i'd be going to in a few hours
#the nyc concert was last year. LAST YEAR .#thats so insane like yeah that feels like a year ago but good god the insane amount of stuff that has happened since#but god i remember that day so well#it was cloudy and a little rainy in the morning which made me ough thinking it was a bad omen and wouldnt be as fun#and i remember going to library and printing out my silly letters (i should have just. not done that lol)#and on the DAY OF on the way back home from the library#i even bought a cropped black blazer specifically for my concert outfit. havent worn it since lmao#and my dad and i even watched a movie at lunch#a short movie but a movie nonetheless. lol and even then i was like oghh my gosh excitement and nervousness#and then the car service getting there i felt so fancy and as the drive started the clouds were magically dissipating#so that it was a nice clear evening when i got to the theatre#and then all the insanity of the show. god i cant believe it still after all this time. wowie#going to listen to a playlist of the show setlist im gonna get emotional now. guys........#one of my fave memories is how everyone started standing up as they went into so may we start so i was like ok are we all doing this#and stood up too and then stood for the entire rest of the concert. i think the first 3-5 rows were like that for the whole show#surreal and insane i was front row. those guys were REAL and CLOSE#i was also very excited to notice russells new shoes :) when i wasnt like awooga (how i was 99% of the time)#there was one so may we start jump that was well. yeah. front row baby#i think after latte i was like ok i cant film i gotta just vibe#religious experience doing the 'ah ah ah's during that. really interesting#ok im not gonna go through the whole show again but wowie one of my most insane nights. second only to hollywood bowl#wow what a fun year it was. just so many incredible moments#ok yay 💖 happy one year to all that. love those guys so much#spars#ok not actually done beaver o lindy was INSANE LIVE!!! AS WAS EVERYTHING ELSE. so fun ok now done for real

saw camera obscura the other night nd i fully cant express how much it and them mean to me it was like being in front of god itself except instead of god it was my second mother who raised me. camera obscura raised me and have been a constant in my life since around 2009 and i have so, so many memories tied to them and they were right there. yes i did sob

Just back from Arctic Monkeys and....yeeeeah my prediction that seeing them so soon after Muse would put them at a disadvantage turned out to be correct 😂
I will say though that the songs from TBHC and The Car sounded soooo fucking good that I'm honestly offended there weren't more of them in the setlist. I need them to do a theatre tour one day where they play both albums in full...
#not even a slight against Arctic Monkeys btw - it's just that Muse are *so* fucking good live that everyone else looks worse in comparison#if I'd had time to forget that i might have enjoyed tonight more#but honestly the bits that weren't as good wasn't even their fault; we were just stuck in a section that had rubbish sound for the 1st half#I could barely hear Alex at all and the crowd was so packed in that I couldn't see anything either#as soon as we moved back the sound got soooo much better and we could actually appreciate the lovely staging#thankfully we were at the back for all The Car songs and they sounded fucking amazing#just wish we'd moved earlier as I barely got to enjoy Ritz and Fluorescent Adolescent#honestly it's been a busy weekend and I'm 90% sure I'm getting sick as a result so tiredness and burnout definitely impacted my enjoyment#hence why two massive gigs in one weekend are a bad idea 😅#honestly I don't think I'd see Arctic Monkeys again in that setting - I just wasn't feeling it tonight as much as i wanted to#but I'd see them again in a heartbeat in a smaller venue#anyway I'm off to bed 😂#also the setlist was a bit meh for me but they were forgiven for that as soon as Sculptures started#Arctic Monkeys

sad summer fest is not enough i need to watch the wonder years headlining a show nowwww
#they only played ten songs T_T#i knew what songs thry were gonna play and in what order bc i made a playlist of their setlist and listened to it on repeat#but it still felt soooo much shorter than I'd been expecting it to feel#before I knew it they were playing cardinals and i was panicking bc wdym we're at the second last song already#i had sooo much fun tho and after the show there was a huge line at their merch tent lol#which. unsurprising considering i was one of them at riot fest 2022#like dan's just a phenomenal frontman he's got a way of connecting with the audience while talking in between songs#also he mentioned that now more than ever we need to protect trans youth. which i really appreciated#one of those things that makes you feel a lil safer especially when the audience is also cheering along#he also said 'i wanna say from the bottom of my heart: free palestine' which just. yeah#you don't see a lot of bands going out of their way to say stuff like that especially during shows so it's always nice when that happens#anyway. i need to see them live again and it needs to be for over an hour#the wonder years#sad summer fest

I usually only listen to the live versions of "Another Man's Woman" since I didn't really like the album version? (I don't know why lol.) Anyways now that I listened to the studio/album version again... I still don't like it... I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! You're able to hear a lot of the intricacies of each instrument and the vocals in the album version you can't really hear in the concert versions.. I love and appreciate this song.
#I want to hug this song I want to tuck it in at night and it a good bedtime story I want it surgically implanted into my brain#as you can see I am *TOTALLY* (not) normal about this song <3#we got the whole buffet of John Helliwell on the saxophone and clarinet + TAMBOURINE#Bob's expert drumming#DOUGIE'S BASS wow#Rick's piano playing and vocals are so good#ROGER ON GUITAR one of the best things ever I can't even believe how epic this is also love his backup singing#the instrumental section of the song is just pure wonderfulness for the ears like everyone comes together in this harmony that is so epic#so sad that they did not put it on the Famous Last Words tour setlist ;-;#if they did i be bawling my eyes out cuz Roger last time playing with Supertramp ;-; so maybe it is ok they didnt#supertramp
