for your viewing pleasure | suna rintarou x gn!reader
camming was addicting in a way; he could be as lazy as he wanted with it and people would still lose their minds over the tiny crumbs he left them. it was suna’s sadistic little game, and he loved it.
Tumblr media
warnings: 18+, college au, camboy!suna, male masturbation, mentions of drinking
w/c: 1k (this was not supposed to get this long oops)
a/n: no because suna is literally the perfect candidate for camming. he’s so fucking effortlessly sexy that it pisses me off but i KNOW i’d be pressing that follow button in half a heartbeat.
Tumblr media
for your viewing pleasure: part one ↓ | part two
“fuck.” suna let out a guttural groan, his right hand moving rapidly along his shaft as he braced himself on his other forearm, naked body splayed out on his white bedsheets. “my hand feels good ‘round my cock but i’d rather it was you,” he grunted out to no one in particular. he took a shaky breath. “hngh, you know, if you were good, i’d cum inside. you’d like that, wouldn’t you? stupid whore, all desperate for some cum.” a few thrusts later, his stomach clenched and balls tightened, cum spilling heavily from his blushing tip. “oh god,” he moaned, “feels s’good.”
as he recollected his thoughts from his heart-pounding release, he reached forward and clicked the red button on his phone, stopping the recording. after playing the video through to ensure that nothing above his neck was in the frame, he posted it on twitter with a suggestive caption and headed to the shower. this was suna’s almost-nightly routine: film something filthy for his almost forty thousand followers and bask in the strange satisfaction of thirsty comments praising his cock and begging to get fucked. camming was addicting in a way; he could be as lazy as he wanted with it and people would still lose their minds over the tiny crumbs he left them. it was suna’s sadistic little game, and he loved it.
looking back, it’s almost inevitable that he started filming his solo sessions for attention, and eventually for some side cash.
suna was always good with cameras—throughout high school, the miyas consistently kept him on his toes; he was constantly anticipating an opportunity for the perfect shot of osamu getting a set straight to the face or of atsumu getting tackled in retaliation for said set. just like on the court, he was observant: he always knew the best angles, the best lighting, and the best positioning, all coming together to form the perfect picture.
and as for the porn part, well, he was a teenage boy once. he’d watched his fair share of erotic videos on all kinds of sites before stumbling upon the vast expanse of homemade clips on twitter, instantly understanding the appeal. a few months after he turned eighteen, he made his own account, figuring that he might as well use his cock for something other than his own pleasure. his peers always gave him hell for his apathy, especially in bed, but on the internet, strangers were in awe of just how little he cared—and how much hotter that made him.
by the time he reached ten thousand followers, he’d opened a venmo, making a few hundred dollars within a week. this isn’t too bad, he thought to himself. i could definitely get used to this. and he did, establishing a pretty solid side gig as a college student that could always use some extra cash.
speaking of college, suna wasn’t really one for parties. in fact, him attending the same party you were, being in the same room you were, and overhearing the only possible conversation that could possibly interest him, were all by complete coincidence. but damn, if he isn’t glad the fates aligned in his favor.
suna, in typical wallflower fashion, was standing against the wall, solo cup in hand, not doing much other than observing those around him and occasionally indulging in the flirtatious glances of a few other partygoers. thinking back, he wasn’t sure how he got so close to you and your friends, or why he was so keen on hearing what you had to say to them. all he knew then was that you were a familiar face from one of his classes, and you were irritatingly attractive. he could probably point to at least five different posts on his account in which he was thinking of specifically you, a person of definite sexual interest, while masturbating.
you’d been drinking, undoubtedly to the point of being tipsy, because there was no way you would’ve been talking about porn, especially at that loud of a volume in the middle of a party, sober. the few beers you’d downed had comfortably warmed your body, making your brain a little fuzzy and your actions a little more reckless. so when your friend had brought up the subject of pornography, you were quick to jump in.
“ya see,” you slurred, “for all the good stuff, ya needa be on twitter. your first mistake s’gunna be going on pornhub or xvideos or some dumb shit like that. you gotta be looking for the good kush on twitter. the homemade stuff. s’authentic and real.”
suna raised a brow at that, taking a short sip of his drink, curious as to what you were going to say next.
“and once you’re on twitter, you gotta find some good,” you waved your hand vaguely, “content creators. ya know? some accounts you can rely on for all your needs.”
your friend asked you a question that suna couldn’t make out through the reverberating bass of the music.
“me personally? all right. this is my biggest secret, like, this guy is the holy grail of twitter porn. the user is...”
suna nearly spit out the alcohol settling on his tongue as the username of his secret account escaped your lips. holy shit, he thought to himself, trying to control his quickening pulse. the idea of you using him to get off was way more arousing then he thought it could be. did you ever time your orgasm so that you both were cumming at the same time? did you stare with envy at his hand, wishing it was you? with nothing but your imagination and your fingers, did you pretend it was him looming over you, making you feel good?
his cock stirred impatiently in his pants. shit, i’ve got to chill the fuck out.
“i’m telling you, this man has the prettiest cock i’ve ever seen. like, you guys know, i hate sucking dick. ‘s the worse thing ever ‘cus their balls always smell like old cheese. but for this guy,” you rolled your eyes back dramatically, “i’d get on my hands and knees immediately. t‘so long and thick and curved and pink,” you gushed. “and his voice is so hot. i’d let him do anything to me.”
suna smirked from behind his cup. he likes you. maybe if you play your cards right, he’ll let you suck the pretty cock that you adore so much. and maybe if he plays his cards right, you’ll let him record it so he can watch it whenever he wants, and show off to his followers what a cockhungry slut you are.
making solo porn was getting boring, anyway.

Scene Stealer
Tumblr media
Pairing: Rafael Casal x Reader
Word Count: 1.6k
Warnings: Minors DNI, a little angst, some language, a smidge of jealousy, but mostly just fluff! No smut! 😃 All errors my own.
A/N: This an ask from @wreakhavoconmacroissantdiggs for the Show Runner AU.  I really love these two. Hope you enjoy, Loves! 💚
Read the previous part, Sundancer .
Hi lovely! Idk if your still doing requests right now? If you are can I have a fluffy/soft-ish moment between Rafa and reader? In the Showrunner AU and reader is actively filming a scene and Rafa's being difficult, lol
Your relationship was the talk of the town, especially since you accompanied Rafael on the red carpet of his latest win; it also happened to be your first nomination.
Ever since you went public, you were content with being ‘partners.’ You, especially, said there was no need for anything more. You didn’t want to tie Rafael to you, because you didn’t own him.
Art was the most important thing, not a conflict diamond and a piece of paper.
Rafael quickly agreed. After all, it had been his manifesto. You two had a perfect understanding. Until you got this role.
This gig required you to dance, and you hadn’t used your classical training in a while. You were nervous as hell.
“Who does music videos with this big a budget any more?”
You just rolled your eyes as Rafa as he delivered the shade. He would never outright say that he didn’t want you to do it; he always supported you, but you could tell it bothered him.
There was a slight tension in the air in the days leading up to filming, but you both pretended nothing was up. You were busy with rehearsal, so you brushed the thoughts of this shift in your relationship aside.
Maybe he was a little tight because you told him that the singer could definitely get it during a cast party before you two were a thing. Except in Rafael’s mind.
Rafa had taken mental notes on everything about you, and this one he didn’t forget. But, he loved you, and he was going to ride for you.  Right?
----------------
On the day of the shoot, Rafa pulled up to the studio at about 1:30. He agreed to meet you there when you invited him for moral support.  You’d been there since 11 am.
He shook his head to himself as he was shown to your dressing room, lamenting the fact that he didn’t bring Diggs, because he would be the one needing moral support today.
Rafael knocked on the door and heard you say, "Come in!"
He walked in and saw you in a big, poofy, but short wedding dress. A more elaborate ballet tutu, but still definitely a wedding dress. Rafael was thrown for a loop, so he just stood there, taking you in.  He felt like he was breaking a rule, looking at you in this dress.
You looked absolutely amazing.
The make up artist was working on you, but you turned around and grinned when you saw him in the mirror.
Rafa felt like he needed to sit down.
"What do you think?"
Rafael actually couldn't think. He looked down and noticed that you had your pointe shoes on. They matched your skin tone perfectly and extended your lovely legs.
He began to feel warm, a heat which began in his chest and radiated throughout his entire torso. But he was a thug.  He tried to express it.
"You look beautiful...."
His throat was dry. What the fuck was wrong with him?
To you, Rafa looked a bit like a fish, his mouth opening and closing with no sound coming out.
"What?" You cocked your head at him.
Rafa recovered and moved toward you. ‘Keep your cool,’ he thought.
You  shrugged at him, turned back around to the mirror, and continued.
"I would never actually wear anything like this. It's too poofy and big. Too princess-y. Not my style." You grimaced.
"You look beautiful." It finally came out.
Rafael smiled, feeling an overwhelming desire to kiss you. The makeup artist exited and Rafa was left staring at you in the mirror again. You were a vision.
He cleared his throat, deciding to lighten the mood.
"Can I climb under that dress and do what I want to do?"
You threw your head back and laughed. Once again, Rafael was caught in your spell.
"I'm working babe, but we can arrange something later..."
‘Whatever you say, my love,’ Rafael thought.
But what he said was, "Cool."
--------
When filming started, Rafael stood out of the way behind the camera to watch. It was a church scene and apparently what you had to do was dance down the aisle to the altar for the wedding scene.
You were lowkey checking for Rafa, and everytime you looked over, he was glowering at you, the set up, or back seat directing. You could read him like a book, and he was not amused or positive about this.
That only made you more tense and out of the zone. You began to regret inviting him.  What was his problem? Was he jealous? He was being an ass, and you were going to tell him about himself later.
You ignored him as you stretched to get ready for another take. You were not going to let him ruin this for you.
---------
Rafael saw you and melted. He watched, mesmerized, as you danced toward the star of the video. Rafael’s heart clenched when you reached them and kissed them lightly on the lips.
It happened at least six times for the different takes and angles, and Rafa had visions of dragging you away from there, but he remained calm.
Rafael had no idea that his emotions were so loud. All pretense, all acting skills, all professionalism went out of the window the moment he saw you in that wedding dress.
He just did not think this production was up to the standard of you. And he caught on to the interactions between you and the star of the video between takes. It was not cool
You  ran through a couple more takes and finally it was time for the last scene, the love scene.
You were whisked back into your dressing room for a wardrobe change. Rafa paced up and down in the hallway to calm himself down. After a few minutes he thought it worked.
Until you came back out.
You were in the sexiest black nightgown he'd ever seen. And those heels. You looked hot as fuck. But when he looked into your eyes, it was clear that you were terrified.
"Rafa, I don't think I can do this. I'm not feeling it…” Nerves were getting to you.
“They are sooo not like I thought they were. They're kind of…. There’s no chemistry. And I’m a hack actor if I can’t do this…”  You bowed your head, ashamed.
Rafa hooked his fingers under your chin and brought your head up. He looked at you sternly. He was angry. But not at you.
“Energy up. Expectations down.”
You tried to respond with a brave smile, but you were really about to burst into tears. Rafael grabbed your hand and pulled you back into your dressing room. He made sure to lock the door.
You thought you knew what he wanted.
“Rafa, we don’t have time for that, I…”
“C’mere.”
Rafael hushed you and grabbed your hand, pulling you into his embrace. His large hand was on your lower back, and he held your other to his chest, beginning a slow dance to music only he could hear.
You looked up at him quizzically and raised your eyebrow.
“Rafa, what…”
“I know that we talked about not seeing the need for marriage in this crazy world, and that we are married to our art, but take a little mind excursion with me…”
You fell into rhythm with him as he began to whisper-sing “Hideaway.”
…See you’ve had the wrong plan
been sipping the wrong wine
Ay ay… let me put you on my vibe.
“Imagine we’re dancing at our wedding…”
You snapped your head up and looked in his emerald eyes. They twinkled down at you.
“I said, ‘imagine.’ This is just an exercise.”
“I would write a new song just for you and sing it while we’re dancing and get you wet for me but make you wait until after we party all night with our friends to get some.”
He smiled down at you and you were with it, getting into the fantasy. You swayed with him a little longer and smiled back up at him. Rafael’s stomach flipped.
So of course he twirled you away from him and back into his arms. His hand moved down your back to your ass.
“Seeing you in this would be the perfect wedding present. Imagine me waiting on you, not wanting to wait any more to touch you, taste you. Make you a mama.”
You stopped and stared at Rafael.
“….That’s quite the imagination you have there…”
Rafa stared back at you. “I am a creator. I create wild musings.” He turned you around to face the mirror.
“Use it.”
He put his hands in your satin covered hips.
“Pretend you’re a woman who would want that. Marriage. A husband who would cherish you and try to make you happy.”
Rafael bent down to hug you from behind, pressing his cheek aside yours.
You gazed at your reflections in the mirror. In that moment at least, you were that woman.
Rafael kissed your neck. You closed your eyes and you felt it before you opened them, but when you did, he had stepped away.
“Now go out there and pretend that person is what that woman wants.” Rafael looked at you in that way one more time before he cleared his throat and looked down.
You straightened up and walked toward the door.
“Thanks for the fantasy, Cash.” You looked back at him.
Rafa winked at you. “Anytime.”
——-
Three hours later, after you’d killed the scene and production had wrapped, Rafa waited for you in the parking lot, smoking and dialing Diggs on the phone.
“Whattup. D. I need you to talk me out of buying a rock.”

If Slashers had horny Tumblrs...
What it says on the tin! HC post for if Jason, Bubba, Brahms, & Billy (Lenz) had their own tumblrs for horny content. (18+ only)
If you like these, feel free to send a request for other characters if you want :D
Contains : adult content, discussions of kink & brief mention of sexual harassment
Jason Voorhees
Very barebones bio that gives some basic info - his age, his gender/pronouns, and a warning this blog contains adult content.
Doesn’t get updated often, and it’s usually all at night. Mostly consists of content he reblogs from different creators (artists/sex workers, etc)
Don’t expect a fancy theme or anything - he only uses his phone for horny content since he shares a computer with his sweet old boomer mom.
A good mix - largely pictures people post of themselves or art he likes. Sometimes he’s in a Mood and reblogs a bunch of very specific kinky posts - text posts with affirmations from doms, risqué art, gif sets of people in gear.
He doesn’t have a huge following or anything, just a handful of mutuals and spam bots he doesn’t clear out frequently. But when he posts anything he thinks could be too intense he makes sure to tag it with warnings, just in case.
Sometimes leaves little compliments for people - he’s usually too shy to message people directly but he’ll reblog their posts and say nice things in the tags. Nothing too forward, usually things like “you look so handsome here!”
Bubba Sawyer
Makes sure not to put any identifying info but he usually puts his age/vague age range (“in my 30s”) because people ask for that.
A collection of stuff he likes, mostly pictures or gifs or the odd video or audio post.
A lot of mostly vanilla content - again, what turns him on, what he can jerk it to easily. Stuff he can focus on when he’s really trying to get off. I feel like he’s more likely to reblog a gif set of people just going at it or pictures of a hot person in lingerie or cute undies than anything with too much of a kink/fetish focus. But not always.
I’m not sure if our Bubba can read/write very well so I can’t see him reblogging or writing long text posts, but there will be a few short ones here and there.
He’s a little too nervous to post intimate pics publicly but I can see him on a very very confident day posting pics of just his hands after seeing people talk abt how they like strong hands.
Again, doesn’t write a lot, so he doesn’t add comments to reblogs or anything
He may leave nice things in tags tho! Like Jason he sometimes leaves little compliments for people whose content he reblogs (ur dress is so pretty!). Sometimes he tags things with certain emojis that seem to have some kind of meaning… a mood he’s in… or maybe they remind him of someone he likes?
Brahms Heelshire
VERY detailed very organized pinned post with info about him including a list of his kinks, and what interactions he wants/doesn’t want. Also, places to send him tribute. Not that he needs the money, of course, but he wouldn’t mind if you got him something off his wishlist. (Wink wink nudge nudge.)
I see him as a switch who leans heavily towards submissive with a bratty streak. However people tend to assume he’s more dominant since he reblogs more dom centered text posts (he’s usually imagining he’s the sub in those scenarios).
Has a decent following since he will periodically produce a lot of original content - mostly text posts, or audio, and the occasional picture where his face is obscured and no naughty bits are showing directly. He errs on the side of caution since he doesn’t want to get struck down by the tumblr nipple police, and also because are you kidding me his family has a reputation to uphold, he can’t afford to get caught
Tumblr is his main horny platform of choice because he finds it easier to organize content he likes into an archive, and there’s more privacy. He tried making an nsfw account on other platforms before, but because of linked accounts and email fuckery he got recommended to follow a family friend and nearly shat himself. (He has a good handle on privacy and he knows that person couldn’t find him - he double checked his privacy settings after that - but it still scared him off that website, at least for that purpose.)
Because he has a decent following he also has a few mutuals he’s messaged periodically. He’s varying degrees of close - some only know him from his posts, some know his main tumblr, some may even be following him on other platforms as “long distance friends”
Every once in a while debates about having his own server for his simps followers, but he’s not sure about using his discord where he keeps in touch with friends/family for it or making a new one. You’re welcome to message him if you’re mutuals or you send him some cash first ❤️
Billy Lenz
What do you mean, “horny on main”? What, like you have an alt?
His blog is like, 98% porn but every once in a while he’ll reblog a non porn post to get into an argument.
“You sure have a lot of opinions on Canadian politics for a hentai blog 🤔”
Mostly an archive of stuff he finds hot at the time, without rhyme or reason - reblogs, links to other websites, etc. mostly chaos, but it seems like every once in a while he tries to have some kind of tagging system.
He sometimes posts original content - sometimes rambling text posts about the kind of sex he wants to have, very rarely pictures of himself. that he deletes immediately after in fear of getting flagged.
When it comes to audio posts… the Moaner lives up to his name. Although he’s not skilled with recording - clearly doing it on his phone - His audios aren’t half bad if you can find them. Usually captioned with something about how he made them or what he was thinking about when he made them.
Let’s be real, canon Billy had like no concept of consent. Or just didn’t care, because he wanted to scare and intimidate people. He’s definitely been blocked by people for sending creepy messages/asks or adding unwanted captions to their posts. When he wants to hit on someone in a way that means they may reciprocate, he’s nicer, but people are still (understandably) put off by him.
At his most polite though, he’d be the type to send an ask to someone saying he hopes they come to Toronto so that he can eat their hot pink cunt and make them cum on his thick tongue and fat, juicy cock. (This is regardless of factors like their actual location, whether or not they have a cunt, or travel guidelines due to the pandemic.)

It’s time we talk about SimsDom again.
Most of you probably already know who and what Simsdom is but for those that don’t, Simsdom (or SimsDomination) claim to essentially be a CC finds website, which in essence I suppose they are... But don’t get your hopes up for a Lana replacement because they are SO much more than that. And not in a good way.
I know this is an old subject, and most people probably thought it was all over and done with, but Simsdom is still around and what’s worse is that I’ve noticed a growing trend among my fellow Game Changers who create content for Youtuber and Twitch/Mixer of promoting the site by using it to do CC shopping haul videos and streams, which is encouraging their viewers to use Simsdom. I’m not going to name names or point fingers but it made me realise that maybe some people don’t understand just how bad Simsdom is for the community in general, but especially for the amazingly dedicated CC creators of Simblr. And it’s just so disappointing to see people that some many in the community, including myself, look up to promoting this garbage site!
If you’re curious to know why this is a problem, I’ll explain under the cut. If not, keep scrolling... But don’t say I didn’t warn you.
If you visit the Simsdom website (which I’ve purposely not provided a link to because you absolutely shouldn’t visit it) you’ll notice a whole bunch of custom content is available there, more than likely you’ll even find quite a bit from some of your faves like @peacemaker-ic, @nolan-sims, @storylegacysims, @crypticsim, @renorasims, @savvysweet and MANY more. My stuff is even on there as well and if you’re a creator, the chances are high your stuff is too; whether you want it to be or not.
But don’t be fooled, myself and most of the other creators whose content appears on their site did not give permission for our content to be shared on there. In fact, most of us have specifically asked Simsdom to remove our content from their site. I say “most” because there are some people who willing uploading their content there (god knows why). The easiest way to the tell the difference is to look at who posted the content. If you see this:
Tumblr media
That content has been shared by a bot, without the creator’s permission and more than likely against their many requests that Simsdom NOT share their content. If it says the name of the actual creator instead of “Exchange”, that creator uploaded it themselves.
You might also ask why anyone would care if their content was shared on a CC finds blog, after all, it means more traffic to our blogs and content, right? First of all, whether it brings in more traffic or not, is beside point. These creators have specifically requested Simsdom not share their content and they have been ignored, disrespected, threatened, and harassed. Simsdom claims that their users make up 30-90% of Tumblr creators traffic, but I call bullshit. I check my Google analytics every single month for traffic coming in to both my Tumblr and Blogger from Simsdom and I can tell you that LESS THAN 1% of the COMBINED TOTAL traffic from BOTH BLOGS comes from there. And when you understand how they operate, you’ll understand why that is.
- UPDATE -
In reference to Simsdom’s response to this post, they linked 5 creators that they claim meet their crazy statement that their site provides creators with 30-90% of their traffic. So I just thought I’d point out some interesting facts I noticed while looking at those sites.
One of those sites is dead; literally, it doesn’t exist anymore, if it ever even did. Another, @simiracle, is a fellow Game Changer who reblogged this post, so I’m guessing they don’t have support there. And the other 3 are alpha CC creators, none of whom have ever uploaded any of their CC to Simdom, nor have they ever mentioned Simsdom on their sites in any way. However, all three earn money on their own content via either adfly, adsense, patreon, or some combination of the three; my guess would be they wouldn’t be too happy to find out Simsdom is making money off them too.
You see, Simsdom might sometimes link back to the original creators site, but often times they don’t. I’ve noticed quite a bit of the content of my own on their site directly links to the file on SimFileShare, completely bypassing both my Tumblr and my Blogger. This might not seem like a big problem, but what about if the creator has put specific instructions, requirements, or notes on the original download page that if the downloader doesn’t read could result in broken/unusable CC, or worse, a broken game?
- UPDATE -
In reference to Simsdom’s response to this post, they linked to SimFileShare’s page on SimilarWeb and claimed that I was lying about direct-linking to my files there because their site does not appear in the list of referring sites. What they failed to mention is that that list only shows the TOP 5 sites that link to SimFileShare regularly. There are still 385 other sites that aren’t shown and can’t be seen without having an account with SimilarWeb. Convenient, huh?
Tumblr media
I also said they only direct-linked SOME content. With my content it was only about 4 or 5 things out of the 15 or so they have on their site and I didn’t check anyone else’s stuff but I have heard other creators say the same thing. So of course they’re not going to show up in the top 5 if it’s only SOME links.
But wait, there’s more.
Anyone downloading from their website without an adblocker is forced to wade through potentially harmful ads as well. Notice the blue button that says “download” at the top? That’s not a real download button and if you click it, it will instantly begin shoving pop ups in your face claiming you have a system error or that your local law enforcement agency has detected illegal activity from your IP. Yes, I clicked it. There is nothing of importance left on my HDD (it’s all stored safely on an external drive that isn’t connected to the PC at all) because this drive has been slowly dying for weeks and I’m destroying it tomorrow and replacing it with a brand new one, so I decided to take a chance.
Tumblr media
These ads, which are on pretty much every page of Simsdom, are what’s called “Ransomware”, and it’s whole purpose is to distract you with fake pop up “warnings” when you click on it so that you don’t realise it’s actually downloading a very harmful file to your computer in the background. It’s designed to be next to impossible to close the pop ups, so that even if you somehow became aware of the download happening, you couldn’t get past the pop ups to stop it before it’s had time to finish downloading and automatically begin running it’s payload when it’s done.
What payload? That’s the scariest part, you won’t know until it’s too late. It could be something as simple as a trojan that will force your PC to mine bitcoins, which is still harmful because these mining trojans are resource hogs and put a massive strain on your CPU. Or a trojan designed to target and encrypt specific files on your computer (usually sensitive ones) and demand you pay a literal ransom (usually either in bitcoin or pre-paid cash) and if you don’t, your files will either be complete erased or leaked.
Or worse still, it could be something even more sinister such as a key-logger; a piece of spyware that is designed to track and log EVERY. SINGLE. KEY. you touch on your keyboard. So every password you use, every online banking key code you enter, all the conversations you have via Discord, Twitter, Tumblr, or any other form of instant messaging, that fanfiction you’ve been working on that you are too scared to show anyone in case they think you’re a pervert, your credit card and bank account number you use to shop online, what porn you look for, even your Google search history (regardless of if you’re incognito); all of it will be no longer private and in the hands of someone who could use it to steal your identity, empty out your bank accounts, charge thousands of dollars worth of goods to your credit card, or expose every little strange thing you do on your computer that you thought no one would ever find out about, unless you pay their ransom.
Scary huh?
Also notice that those Get Famous recolours I made don’t say that they actually require Get Famous? Why is that a problem, you say? For most people it’s not, you see “Get Famous Recolours” and you automatically know you need Get Famous to use them, but what about people who are new to using CC and don’t know that for my recolours to work you need the pack they came from? Yeh, that’s a problem, because that particular download is one of those ones that leads straight to SimFileShare:
Tumblr media
It leads directly to the merged file, which is NOT the only file available for download in that set, just the largest. But no one who finds my content on Simsdom will ever know that will they? Nor will they read the part of the download page that clearly states Get Famous is required to use the recolours.
I hear you saying “But adblockers are a thing”. Yes they are, but that doesn’t solve the issue of them linking straight to the file. And also, here’s what happens when you try to download something from Simsdom with an adblocker enabled:
Tumblr media
You’re forced to wait 180 seconds before the download button appears. THREE WHOLE MINUTES in which you cannot move from that page or the counter will stop, and it will only restart when you go back to that page and stay there for the entire three minutes. Even Adfly isn’t that gross.
So, all of that isn’t enough to discourage you from using this vile site you say? Well, let me introduce you to the person/people who run the site. There are plenty of examples floating around Tumblr of how disrespectful, arrogant, immature, and disturbing the owner/s are (just search for “Simsdom” and you’ll see) but here’s just a few posts showing “receipts” of what happened to creators when they ask for their content to be removed from the site: Here,  here, and here.
They have threatened to doxx several creators, tried to blackmail others, threatened to shut down some people’s sites, and even actually refused to remove people’s content unless they say “please”; as though these creators are six year old children who need to learn a lesson for not wanting THEIR content on someone else’s website!
All of this was said AFTER they made a post on their Tumblr saying they would respect creators wishes to not have their content on their site. I myself had a run-in with them as well but I don’t have the receipts because as soon as they finally agreed to remove my content (after almost 4 days of arguing with them and being threatened several times) they blocked me... and they continue to share my content to this day. That’s part of the reason why my motivation to create has been so low lately; I know its just going to end up over there, locked behind a paywall making money for these disgusting people and tricking simmers into thinking they have to pay to access my stuff.
But back to the story! Once they realised 99% of Tumblr creators — the people they get most of their content from — were going to ask to have their creations removed however, they changed their mind and instead started refusing to remove content. In fact, if you go to their website and use the contact form and choose the option “Remove my Content” they literally ask if you are Tumblr creator or not, and if you say you are, this is what you get:
Tumblr media
And that “Our Rights here” link? That leads to this nonsense that literally contradicts itself with almost every single sentence:
Tumblr media
“Creations can’t be uploaded without the creators permission... but we do not need permission to share your creations” “Feel free to contact us to ask to remove your content... but actually don’t bother contacting us asking to remove your content because we won’t” “SimsDomination is a free website... We don’t steal any content... *literally has other people’s free content locked behind a paywall and charges people membership fees to remove said paywall*”
And as for the EA terms part... I have news for you Simsdom, YOU are the only one breaking EA’s terms of use by putting content behind paywalls. I’m an EA Game Changer, I have actually read the terms of use AND spoken at length on the topics of earning revenue from CC, and why paywalls/memberships/exclusives are against EA’s terms of use with the Sim Gurus, have you? Didn’t think so.
If you had, you’d realise that we are allowed to earn revenue from our CC by having ads on our blogs/sites provided they aren’t deceptive — you know, like that ad with the big blue button you have that shows up on every single page of your site — and don’t lead to anything malicious, which yours do. I clicked several of the ads on your site and they all either lead to disgusting 18+ websites, started producing ransomware pop ups like I described earlier, or tried to download a mysterious file called setup.exe to my computer (which was most likely a trojan as well). We are also allowed to earn revenue via donations and Patreon early access systems provided the content is also made available for free to the general public within 14 days.
We are not, however, allowed to lock content behind Patreon exclusives, memberships and paywalls such as Adfly; which is exactly what you are doing. Like Adfly, you are not only potentially exposing underage children to 18+ content and risking the safety of people’s PCs, but you are also forcing them to wait to click a link and charging membership fees to avoid having to wait to download said content that isn’t even yours; content that you have been asked REPEATEDLY to remove. That is the very definition of a paywall. It is NOT the same as Pinterest or Facebook AT ALL, they might have ads but they aren’t malicious and they do not force people to wait to view content.
- UPDATE -
In reference to Simsdom’s response to this post, this is probably one of my most favourite Simsdom lies, because it never changes but it’s so easy to prove false! “Users don’t need to pay to download any content and don’t need to wait to download them” Oh really? Shall we take a look at your site on the old SimilarWeb that you love so much?
Tumblr media
How strange. If you don’t make people wait, then why do you need adfly? And if no one has to pay, then why do you need premium memberships to get rid of the ads and wait time you don’t have? Odd.
Also, lets talk Adsense. I never said I had a problem with you having ads on your site; I said I had a problem with the TYPE of ads on your site. If you seriously don’t think your ads are in any way harmful, I’d suggest you take another look at your Adsense, because either it’s been hacked or you seriously don’t know what you’re doing. Oh, but that’s right, “Google will never display suspicious ADs“... Mmm hmm, you just go right on believe that. Yeh, it’s definitely not possible for Google to be hacked... Nope, definitely not.
Also, if you use your Adsense revenue to pay for your site.... what happens to the extra? Because based on your SimilarWeb page I can take a rough guess at how much you earn every month through Adsense alone and there’s no way your site costs that much to run. For that matter, where does all the extra revenue from Adfly, Short.st and this mysterious “other” go? And all the revenue you get from your premium subscriptions that you totally don’t charge people money for?...
Is that fish I smell?
You are not doing anyone any favours here, so stop pretending that you’re in this for anything other than money. Stop sharing content you’ve been asked REPEATEDLY to remove/not share and breaking EA’s and many creators TOUs!
If you’ve managed to make it this far, congrats lol I know this has been long and probably boring but thank you for taking the time to read the whole thing. All this post was meant to do was explain why people should not support Simsdom, and why I’m so disappointed in other Game Changers for promoting it, but it kind of got away from me a little.
Oh well, now you know what Simsdom is and why I will NEVER support them or willingly allow my content to be shared on their site. And if you do decide to still use their site, just... please be careful. My content will always be free and safe to download, just like the majority or CC creators here on Tumblr. Don’t pay for something you can get for free from the original source.
Also, if you’re looking for a Lana replacement (aka a good CC finds blogs that isn’t shady af like Simsdom) check out @maxismatchccworld!
- UPDATE -
This isn’t in relation to anything specific, just the situation as a whole. It seems Simsdom has just removed the search box from their website completely:
Tumblr media
I’m sure it was totally legit reasons and not at all because they didn’t want anyone searching for their own content on the Simsdom website. Just like it wasn’t for that reason the last time too...

Posting Patreons on Grommr
Ok - so a lot of you are talking about patreon today - and its a bit crazy. So lets drop some reality bombs.
Now before I get bashed for this I wanna just say that I support everyone posting their patreons, I support patreons for gainers, and I am glad that patreon exists because it is the perfect way for gainers to make a little extra cash to fund their gaining. I also do more to fight for the ability for you guys to post your patreons regularly than most people posting them deserve. I believe that it's a step in the right direction away from public media sources like youtube and I'm glad a more secure method exists for sharing these kinds of videos regularly. Do I miss seeing gainer vids on youtube? you bet. Do others? you bet. Does that cause problems for you guys - more than you know. Does that mean that its any less risky to share them there - no and that's one of many reasons I'm ok w/ paying people for creating content.
And now - the reality bomb.
You guys are horrible at Patreon. The average patreon subscriber donates about $12/month to all of the patreons they support. ALL OF THEM. COMBINED. This is worth it because they are able to - via multiple pledges - support multiple patreon pages and get a wide variety of content and a moderate amount of it. This is more than a Netflix subscription - and is worth it because of a couple of factors. 1. The amount/variety of content is worth it to that individual, 2. any difference in the worth between amount/variety of content available and the BENEFIT they gain from supporting a cause THEY support makes up for the loss of content in their personal value system.
You guys are not Netflix - so you can't charge Netflix amounts and expect Netflix subscription rates. That's silly.
Next you need to consider your competition. What makes your patreon better than the others? well if the prices are all the same (for some reason you all do $10 which is frankly idiotic when it comes to setting up a patreon page unless you're doing something of the quality of a professional youtuber and even then its high) then you're asking them to choose which gainers they like most and then it comes down to a popularity contest. Which I personally disagree with, (we shouldn't have to choose a small number of gainers to support if we want to donate) but we do.
Another competitor you all have is the platform you're all advertising on. Many of you seem to think that Grommr is some really big company making loads of money because of all the people on it. Well - it's free. For most people at least. A very small percentage (smaller percentage than you think) subscribe to Grommr for between $5/mo to $8/mo (more if you subscribe via the app because Apple/Google have to take their far too generous cut). If Joe Shmo your average grommr user (who btw does not subscribe to grommr) and he has the choice of 4-8 videos a month from 1 person, or access to unlimited blocks and picture views on Grommr - who do you think Joe is going to pick? Its highly unlikely he's going to pick the videos. Not entirely unlikely - just highly.
And finally the other competitor you have is literally any subscription service charging a similar amount. Why pay $10 a month for a patreon gainer when I can have netflix. Or Hulu + spotify. or all the new streaming services coming out. or Crunchyroll premium. There's a ton of stuff out there that's cheaper than $10 a month - and plenty of free fat porn, plenty of free gainer porn, and tons of gainer erotica out there to masturbate to. Your stuff has to be worth more than that if you're going to charge more than that.
Patreon is great because I can support a lot of people for less than my Netflix subscription. I've helped my friend get his Patreon business off the ground (he's not a gainer, just an artist) and now he makes enough money each month to live off his art. His base tier of $1/creation gives access to the art he posts, and he makes enough to live off. I know what I'm talking about here when I say that most of you should not be making content for $10 a month. If you want to make more off your patreon, if you want people to complain less about your patreon, and you want to keep posting your patreons, then I suggest you re-evaluate how you USE patreon.
Your subscription tiers should be more like $1/$2/$5/$10/$25(or similar levels of scaling) rather than $10/$20/$30* (*this example set of tiers is not indicative of any individual gainer's patreon, but just a trend of gainer patreons I've seen). If you have a base tier that gets minimal access - this should be $1 (minimum amount you can donate on patreon). Otherwise you're just fucking with people. All of my favorite artists that I subscribe to on Patreon have $1/creation or $1/month tiers with plenty of access to content. It has kept me subscribing to them for years even when they don't post in a given month, and most of them are professional artists whose primary source of income is patreon and commission work. At $1/month you can attract far more subscribers than $10/month. Since you guys are simply supplementing your gaining and not trying to replace your jobs - this should be more than enough. The point of patreon is to support A LOT of people (read gainers) not just 1. Make it affordable for people to support multiple gainers, and they will. Limit their choices to 1 and they'll get upset that they can't afford it (and frankly a majority of this site can't afford to donate to your poorly made gainer videos. Some can, most can't - be mindful of this).
And before any of you who have patreons say "well I can support other patreons" I'm just going to glare at you for your stupidity because your patrons are supporting your personal subscriber list not you. That's just a dumb argument. They pay you, you pay others, as long as your subscribING list is smaller than your subscribERS list then you're not paying for it, the people donating to you are.
Be smarter about how you use patreon. Don't break the rules (don't delete your patreon posts out of the newsfeed, make sure you're posting less than 1 a day, make sure you post 4 other things between any promotional posts, don't ask for donations, don't con people, etc.) And go on creating amazing content. Follow my advice and you'll probably get less complaints on a personal level. Or don't its up to you - but be mindful that this is a community site and if there comes a day when everyone is simply making posts to bide time between their patreon advertising, no amount of effort on my part will be able to stop the community from fighting back against that, and the creators of this site do listen to the cries of their community (despite all the complaints to the contrary).

So I kind of just need a place to let it all out.
If you don’t want to hear me ranting about my truest encounter with the embodiment of male privilege, the stereotype of millennials, and even bad stereotypes about queerfolk - that I’ve ever encountered in a single being - please keep scrolling and /ignore. But it’s better to rant about it here in this contained area than have it wank up in an SM area that is adjacent to a growing business profile. If someone finds it, okay, I have nothing to hide, but still, better to keep clear air over there rather than kick up in main venues.
But holy shit.
Like.
Beware: Much cussing afoot. Minding through this journey this guy is trying to demolish weeks of my work and tried to use my credit card and busting up people’s hubs and turning friends on each other and all kinds of stuff. This is my personal blog and at this point, I’m furious.
Okay so I’m going to start with CultFans. Some of you saw some of the work done. Let me tell you a little bit about how CF started. (and before making any judgments about CF because of this dude as described below, read the whole thing and understand how it’s changed now.)
There was a little podcast called Order of the Outpost. The Outpost is a small CW summer show with a tiny fandom, but I watch it because... well, it’s honestly an indie studio getting its first real shot and struggling through a lack of budget to swing with the big dogs and fuck yes I am trash for that kind of content. But anyway, OotO was started by a girl named Kira, who formerly ran The Lit Round Table for the Librarians fandom, and producer Dean Devlin showed up on it at one point. She got to go to set with the others. It was cool! Dean also signed on to support Outpost next to Arrowstorm, so heyyyyy it was just sort of a neat idea, maybe he’ll show back up one day and if not, we can nerd meta talk.
Several people pile in. One is this dude who happened to make semi-friends with a young actress getting a role in the show, who referred a few people to the stream. The problem is, when people got there, the streams went a few hours, it wasn’t structured - but I mean, that’s understandable. It’s a young fan stream in a young fandom, there’s not gonna be a lot of structure. And we don’t want to take over her podcast with a RuEL oF lAW but we see that the last guest got visibly exhausted. In fact, it was bad enough Shea and I left the call because it had run for 2 1/2 hours and that was just ridiculous. But it left Kira and... dude with the one semifriend actress (Tim/TJ). So the call went into eternity.
I felt bad for Josh (the set guy that was there) and thought - okay, I mean, I have the experience to help this keep rolling, but things have to change. You don’t want to change up her podcast but... if you want guests to stay engaged something has to change. So I propose making like, a second feature. This proposal was originally a second piece of content/second show on the same channel, but Dude With The SemiFriendish Actress ran off and, while I was checking my funds to consider investing in a website, registered a separate social media account, already started spamming tags out and alerting people about a change... okay, weird and unnecessary but whatever, roll with it.
He says he likes the idea of a more professional environment so that’s why he ran off and made the separate channel. I ask if he can invest in it at all. He says no. Okay, well, we need better than what we have, if we want any agents to take us seriously, so I drop the hard cash for website, domain, etc etc up front. I let him know it’s gonna be a hard road if he wants to do that kind of thing, he says he gets it and will listen.Totally open to feedback since I know what I’m doing and I’m totally an owner because I’m investing. Cool. So we do our first independent podcast which ends up being like... an hour and a half of him interrupting everything and talking at the guest. Flashbacks to the call with Josh, which dude COMPLETELY blamed Kira for. Even though he was one of two participants.
I pull him aside, say that’s not okay, that’s still way too long. We’re gonna start scripting it. Nobody’s here to see you talk, dude, or hear your opinion. If you want an opinion stream, go to OotO, you’re supposed to be supporting guests. That’s why they show up - publicity for a small studio. Says he gets it... give him a script. I start working on videos. He visits OotO one more time and drops a GIANT PR BOMB I DARE NOT REPEAT BUT IT COULD HAVE COST SOMEBODY THEIR JOB. (for the record, it’s something it turns out he completely hyperbolically inflated to make himself look good and turned up completely false but this isn’t shit you play around with son, these are careers.) We lock down the OotO stream and scrub it. He does a thousand frowny faces and apologizes and says he gets it. Okay! He’s new to this... will give another chance.
Now, let me insert, I love Sonalii Castillo to death. She’s talented in every way imaginable and a sweetheart. But she is not a big name. She deserves to be a big name, but she isn’t there yet. Her star meter floats at about the same level as TAW, if that gives you any idea, only she’s not a complete shitlord like TAW - she just hasn’t gotten a lucky break yet. But due to huffing crack from talking to her, dude sets up a patreon. We’re so new we have like 6 subscribers but he makes tiers like “$200/month TJ will add you to PS4 and play games with you.” Who the fuck are you dude??? Who is going to do that??? What the fuck? I tell him to take that shit down.
And... another. Dude, who all are you emailing? Wait, why do we have a new email? Wait, you registered an email on top of my domain? That we don’t have access to? Wait - what? Make a fucking spreadsheet, what the fuck is going on.
“Make a spreadsheet” - he comes back with this eye bleeding hot mess:
Tumblr media
Just... pages of that. (Contacts blacked out for obvious reasons) O-...okay... he’s... he’s trying, I guess? Need contact to the email to see what you’ve said so we can follow up. Wait, you have THREE emails? Okay - he - he let us in one. Good enough for fucking now I guess, despite bitching him out to not do things in private.
Find him sending two page bricks about his aspergers and hopes and dreams to agents when they ask for more details. Uh- that’s... that’s not what they meant dude? “I didn’t realize-” dude there’s aspergers and then there’s just being completely- like- ridiculous. Dude, I have aspergers. And boy did he pitch that as an excuse every chance he got. Either you’re cut out for this kind of work or you’re not.
So I’m going behind, scrubbing on audio and video PR bombs, busted agent rep, vats of what turns out to be HUNDREDS of emails, writing scripts, making videos and even running the live broadcast because nobody else can handle it - oh, and paid for the site, because, you know, it was me saying we needed a better environment to begin with that kicked this off, but I never meant to completely break away but WHATEVER it is what it is. I made a point to keep attending OotO while, unsurprisingly, he dropped them cold.
He convinces a comic shop owner to give him swag for a light sponsorship deal for advertisement-vs-giveaway - cool, that’s cool. Inventory it. But he wants to keep this super rare rogue poster! Did he give it to you as a gift or as a sponsorship? ...For a giveaway. Okay, then you don’t keep that, that’s fraud. [pouty face]
Keep in mind this dude is 25.
He keeps turning up going “look at the stuff I got from the comic shop for giveaways!” and we’re like, dude, stop spending money, we don’t have money, you’re on welfare, knock it off until we get some sort of income. DONT TELL ME WHAT TO DO WITH MY MONEY okay but if that’s your money that’s on you, I’m not taking that as an investment I’m going to have to pay back when we keep saying to stop buying shit. INVENTORY it so we can BUNDLE it and make GIVEAWAYS. Took like a month of me telling him this for him to inventory a grand total of like 12 items.
So I got him to close his utterly failed patreon and opened one of my own, that stayed in MY management, and he starts bitching for the login. Dude, you didn’t give me yours? You literally won’t give me anything that has a card on it so why am I going to give it to you? We’re not the ones blowing random money left and right? If there’s an expense to pay back, minding of course I’m the one that’s invested triple digits in this and he’s... spastically bought random swag at a comic book store and registered a redundant email on top of my domain that clogs up my ability to use *MY* free email in my package, while paying a few cents a day on it - I’ll fucking paypal you the money dude. If I get hit by a bus tomorrow Shea lives in the same house and can handle it. You don’t need my login creds.
I mean by now, there’s already huge red flags. Add in calling us each and rambling at us three hours a day about jack schitt all nothing while we say we’re trying to do work and mostly just talking about himself, kinda like he does on live air. Serious major narcissism shows, increasing creepiness with female guests, his weird obsession with anything money based, impulse spending, oh and he takes this “I’m the creator” attitude. ???? I... bought everything? And... Shea and I make... literally all of the resulting product? ???? You... ran off early and registered an SM account???? What did you create? Oh, it was “his idea”... right... okay. Yeah, no it wasn’t. Cue arguments and shitfits about it starting up.
But hey, I’m going to stay on point because we have a good thing going.
Again, HUNDREDS of emails. Try to navigate that hellhole of a spreadsheet and eventually just go “Fuck it, I’ll reformat, and make him fill in the other parts,”
Tumblr media
Tada, a spreadsheet you can actually like, find shit. Suddenly the other team members could understand what the fuck was going on. I put in a date of contact, and email of contact field (now it’s all uniform now that we’ve cleaned up, but there were FOUR emails bouncing in there that he was doubletapping people from, once I made him type it out). Made him go find his own bullshit and put in dates/emails while haranguing him into giving us access to all but one email, and he pitched a fit saying his personal payment details were on it (because he chose to register the gsuite ON TOP OF MY DOMAIN just because he had limited delegated access to my godaddy I guess. IDK how Gsuite gets signed up for but I’ll just guess randos can’t do it without SOME kind of access)
Well, keep in mind, I’d been spending bare minimum 6, often 18 hours a week resorting emails, ELI5ing basic business or even basic human engagement, on top of my scripting and video work and everything else, because I bought into the “nobody ever gives me a chance” whining. And I’m all about giving people chances to do things they have fire to do. Literally all we’re asking for is to like, spellcheck his work (he was posting things through the blog like “Exlcusive”), not be a PR bomb, and sort out his shit (spreadsheets, emails) so I didn’t always have to clean up over him. Not exactly exorbitant work standards. Also stay relatively on script because, well, nobody wants to attend a stream for 2 1/2 hours, 2 hours of which is him talking at everyone instead of pulling information from the guests or engaging on behalf of an audience.  But he’s trying, I tell myself! Against my better judgment. And, well, at least he contributes to paying imdbpro?
Well, I thought he did. Until I found out he was on a free trial and that expired. Sooo guess who had to register for the next trial? [this guy thumbs] Guess who started demanding access despite not allowing access before because of payment creds?
Because I’ve worked in stuff before, I run this by an old art director that’s worked on some pretty big shit. She doesn’t know anyone on the stream from Adam but HONES in on TJ. Her “protect the model” instinct kicked in immediately with how he was engaging female guests. “Mouth breathing basement dwelling perv” was the vibe she got off of him, without any prompting, and she immediately skeeved out. “He’s a problem, he’s a huge problem.” And I legit hadn’t said SHIT to her. She apparently saw the look on my face and was like “What?”  so, storytime kicked in. But I did still make excuses for him. He’s an aspie, sometimes we’re weird about how we communicate, our tones are off, it may just be a quirk outside of his control - etc etc. But all this other shit has built up despite my thousand excuses I’ve run for him (and some I’ve completely brushed over in this novel) She also noted he choked on the McNally interview - that we were all nervous but he was squeaky. I said that was my fault, I rode his ass too hard about staying on script, poor baby was trying, that was a my bad.
And there’s parts I haven’t even touched on, TBH.
But let’s review where we’re at
Original OotO stream
I still attend, he drops Kira cold
He’s bitching in private quarters that he can’t stand her
I still try to refer guests we get to her
He starts dragging her when off air to blockade her getting guests
I now lose my shit on him
More frowny faces
after PR bombs
after unsorted emails
after the eyebleeding spreadsheet
After wrecking connections to a few agencies
After many long talks
after him running off script for weeks
After an art director spots him as a problem immediately
After I do all scripting, videos, and broadcasting
After Shea does all the graphics
After we made all of the triple digit investment
Dude randomly thinks he owns it because he bolted off to register an SM first
Seriously
But wait, there’s MORE!
Dude starts pitching bitches that I put out deadlines. Because he’s done things like try to bait guests on live air to make commitments to him and all kinds of shit, and I’m hard scripting it now to PREVENT that. But if the artists are gonna get the script in a time they can yay/nay we need to get it to them BEFORE THE FINAL HOUR. So he misses deadlines and then expects everyone to hand him their questions and work so he can be on the whole stream after he fucked off for a week and failed to even SUBMIT A QUESTION TO BE SCRIPTED? Um, NO? Guess who loses his shit about “his baby.” Oh boy, the entire team has a comeapart on him at this point.
He comes forward with telling the story of how the australian version of welfare (I forget what it’s called? Centerpoint? Some shit like that?) is up his ass to get a job but they’re getting “off his ass” because he’s “trying to make a business” and he’s happy about that, so he “might get a part time job, if he has to" but he wants to finally move out, get a two bedroom apartment. Dude, I point out, if there’s ANY money in this at ALL it is a LONG way away so get the fucking job.
He apologizes, says he gets it... whatever. But boy, an older, not-classically-attractive and not-big-name male guest? He suddenly doesn’t give a shit. Like, no questions, outright says he doesn’t care if he’s on it. But - but Jennifer is the week after!! He absolutely has to be there!!! Uh, why? Do you know anything about what a producer even DOES? Well, no. But he’s bouncing on Charan so he should be in the front THERE. Okay, so what are you going to ask her. Oh, he has no idea. But there’s going to be a GIRL on the stream to talk at, so hey!
But here we are right after I say it was my fault he was choking on McNally’s interview and he runs 15 minutes off script on the next one AND tries to talk over me for a SOLID MINUTE during our scripted wrap. I manage to end the broadcast, I drop mention of OotO to the guest and he goes OFF about it being an unbearable stream; like yes I will be honest literally everybody jokes about her laugh but saying “just letting you know it’s unstructured-” isn’t an invite to go off calling her stream a hot mess and yes, once you go off about her laugh everybody’s gonna laugh a bit and chuckle it off and roll long enough to not go off on you in front of an actor but everybody else knew to shut it down with “but Kira’s sweet” and end it. And nothing about her having any kind of laugh is worth HARDBALL BLOCKADING her getting guests. It’s fair to warn them that it isn’t structured like an interview, because, you know - well, let’s not blindside them, but that still WORKS for some personalities. That DOESNT mean you go off calling it a hot mess and all kinds of other shit. And people lightly rolling with it long enough to not make you look like a TREMENDOUS THUNDERCUNT and make a scene in front of an actor they KNOW you will blow up on us in front of does not WARRANT that behavior, catch a clue when everybody’s cutting it off with “But she’s a sweet girl” dude. Or the fact that SOME OF US STILL GO TO HER STREAM. You’re the one that hard dropped her.
But after the last time he dragged Kira I went off on him. I even deadass told him the feedback from the art director finally. I try to sort his vat of emails to cool off, and wake up in the morning to an ENTIRE INBOX full of him shittily forwarding things from his private email we said he shouldn’t even HAVE, full of attitude about me doubletapping a few clients, after HE put the wrong contact date/email in the sheet BY HIS OWN HAND. Like, I’m supposed to psychically know what’s in his fucking private email he won’t cough up when he put the wrong data down.
So here I am, cup of coffee still untouched, put my butt down in the chair, see an inbox FULL of him being a wumbo sized shitlord and he starts calling me on Hangouts, like he must have seen my indicator turn green. Again, keep in mind him being notorious for three hour phonecalls about nothing, and/or arguing. So I decline. He calls again. I decline. He calls again. I answer. “What.”
Long silence.
“I’m not creepy.”
“Come again?”
Long silence. “I listened to the stream. I don’t sound creepy.”
“Dude, a creepy sounding dude isn’t going to think you sound creepy. And it’s not just the art director. I’ve gotten that from a few other viewers.”
Long silence. He starts trying to argue and I cut him off. Like, no dude. After all of this shit, after ALL of this, after we have literally built and invested in ALL of this when you don’t have a single goddamn skill sufficient for the job and we spend full work weeks trying to mentor you while trying to do other shit, you had the audacity to talk over me during our wrap THEN DRAG KIRA.
“Well I didn’t realize I was doing it.”
“Okay?”
“What do you mean okay?”
“I mean, okay? What do you want me to say to that? If you have something going on in your head that somehow makes you unable to process you’re trying to talk over someone for a solid minute, during a point that has literally been part of a routine for a month and a half, what do you want me to say?”
Long awkward pause. “So how do we fix it?”
“I don’t know, dude. I’ve tried everything. I’ve tried scripting, teaching you metronome, I’ve tried moving your position around in the stream to see if you sync somewhere better, I’ve tried having you watch other interviews, I’ve tried giving you templates. I’ve tried being gentle, being firm, I’ve tried outright bitching you out. And if you don’t even realize you’re doing these things, I don’t know how to make you fix them. I’m a production coordinator, not a psychologist.”
“But... how do we fix it?”
“I... just said I don’t know.”
“Yeah but I mean, how do we fix it.”
“I mean you can keep asking me that over and over but I just told you, I’ve done everything I can even think of at this point to make this work and to give you chances that I am in no way obligated to give you. And you know, through all of this, I haven’t even gotten a single thank you from you? For even giving you a chance to be part of this?”
Awkward silence. “But it’s m-”
“Don’t start that it’s mine shit. There is no universe in which this is yours. And if you want to play that, I can walk with the site, the domain you registered your emails on, my videos, broadcasting software, Shea’s design and my general understanding on how any of this works, like I could have done a month ago from your bullshit, and you can try to do it with a google hangouts and a wix site and see how that works.”
Awkward silence. “Well how do -”
“I swear to god if you ask me how to fix it one more time I’m hanging up. [Brief silence] Okay, so how about you tell me how to fix it, instead?”
He’s quiet a minute. “I don’t know.”
“Okay well if I’ve reached the limit of my ability to think on how to fix it, and you don’t know how to fix it, I’m going to need you to try harder.”
He loops this cycle several times. In hindsight, I’m aware now, he was trying to make me be the wicked witch that kicked him out. But I wasn’t. He came up on his own, “Maybe I should take a step back.”
“Is that what you think will fix it?”
“Yeah. I mean. Maybe. But... if I step back... what do I get out of it?”
“...Come again?”
“I mean, if I step back, what kind of money do I get.”
...????
??????
“Okay, look dude, what money? There IS no money. There’s like 5 bucks in a patreon when I paid out well over 100 bucks in startup costs. These problems, all of these problems, these explosions in the team all have one source. It’s that simple. If you think you stepping back fixes it, I’m not going to stop you, but there IS no money.”
“But what about if you start MAKING money?”
“...what?”
“Like in a few years, this gets big. I mean, I created it and all - I get money, right?”
“What did you create?”
Crickets. Finally, “It was my idea.”
“No, dude, it was everyone’s idea. And even if it was your idea, which it wasn’t, an idea is just an idea. I have an idea that I’d love to genetically splice a lizard back into being a T-Rex but if I have no idea how to fucking do it and someone else does all the work for that, they’re the creator of the goddamn new T-Rex, so you can put that down right now.”
Awkward silence. Says he has to think. Hangs up.
Okay well, I have an interview to prerecord, so we just get to rolling.
He comes back in the NEXT MORNING bitching about money again. And not even just about money.
So here’s the deal. Yet again, like many a morning recently, I approach with an untouched cup of coffee, sit down... and there is a WALL OF BRICKS in our team chat. Why? Because Shea fucking triggered on him like two hours ago and they haven’t stopped. Shea, a woman with more than 10 years management experience, who was supposed to handle any money we DID get coming in, was out working her 55 hour a week shitty retail job (for the record, due to being physically broken beyond function I am on disability, but I worked until I couldn’t do it anymore, literally, and at least it’s SOME income), when he came in saying, I shit you not, that he needed “that money” because he never wants to have to work retail, sales, or food and he shouldn’t have to get a part time job at Samsung.
What the fuck? Who the fuck are you dude? Needless to say, Shea went postal in righteous anger. And we ALL had righteous anger of our own. Our work, our history in regular work force, our input in this, and asking him what he thinks any of us should get paid for our work or how much he thinks this is going to pull for him to move into a two bedroom apartment. Does only he get paid if we somehow start pulling a few thousand dollars? And is he going to give anything back to Arrowstorm? To Sonalii? How much does he think this digital business is going to be paying in the first year? 10K? 20? or does only him getting a few thousand dollars count? Arrowstorm is indie, don’t just ride their shit to fame as your goal dude, that’s not how this fucking works. Even Stacy, sweetest pea in the pod that hates confrontation, bricked him about the need to respect Arrowstorm and how hard this all is. And what do you even do to justify making all the money? He fills out the imdb spreadsheet, he says. That original hot mess that I had to reformat. And sends emails, that I have to clean up after him. That takes TIME. I bundled it up and did the math like I did and said he was running an average of 1-2 hours a week of work. But he’s super busy. That’s his excuse. We just dont KNOW what his life is like.
Meanwhile we get wind he’s going back to Kira, after ALL THE SHIT DRAGGING HE DID OF HER, and abandoning her stream which I was STILL going to every week. Why? Because everybody’s sick of his shit here, so he’ll go there for convenience, I guess, since he burned everybody up here. And when we confront him about how shitty and gross that is, he tries to justify it but gets reamed. Tries to blame it on how busy he’s been too. Super busy. A wall of busy. And it’s a fantastic busy wall.
Dude goes dead silent on everybody. Kay, well, we have final prep for a live feature with THE ARROWSTORM PRODUCER the next day so we get back to our shit, because we’re sick of him derailing everything. Wake up in the morning to him trying to ultimatum US about the emails we said he shouldn’t have and leaving. So, you know. That was a thing. And we get a notice that he tried to set the FB to delete. Now it becomes a mad dash to password change EVERYTHING. And change all of the recovery options. Luckily my godaddy account was already delegated and restricted access but I go to doublecheck and THIS motherfucker has a domain registration package IN MY CHECKOUT CART. What. The FUCK. Luckily he can’t see or use my payment details but I screenshot that shit. I still have to be live with the producer in a few hours and put on a good face. Like the last interview, it went great without him (barring a tech difficulty that slammed us because of my shitty tech). She said she had a great time. Said she was gonna text the leads in the show (which IS a CW show) to get in contact with us. We smile and wave and thank her and off she goes.
I look back in hangouts and he’s bitching about the emails, I tell him just delete the shit dude, I can register them again, I’m not an idiot and already backed everything up to a zip folder and if there’s downtime it’s the weekend and agents won’t be answering anyway while I put it back up, I don’t give a shit but HEY, while we’re at it, I’m super curious about why I spotted this in my checkout cart and why you pitched a bitch about your access levels suddenly. You know, right before I password locked you out. So are you going from passive fraud of accidentally keeping things from the comic store to active fraud using my card to buy shit? Luckily I’m smarter than you, son.
Oh, the excuses flowed. It was an accident. He didn’t realize, he was just checking how much it would cost (like they don’t show that before you select), IDK, they never found the bodies was probably next.
So I dig in google history to make sure other weird shit wasn’t going on and make sure he was locked out of everything and find that this dumb motherfucker set the group email to be his microsoft account so both microsoft AND google were tracking him and this fuckface was playing more than 60+ hours of random games and bullshit a *week.* And I don’t mean like “might have left it running when he left the house” games, I mean rotating titles every 30-45 minutes was common. You could literally see when he’d try to initiate his three hour google calls, then hang up and go play Marvel, then pick a fight and when people got pissed, turned around and played asphalt, then came back to complain about money, and then when people bitched at him went on grindr or looked up a mix of ageplay and/or pedo porn. Like it’s RIGHT THERE in the tracking history and it’s hard to miss because *he’s the only fucker in australia in the team* and you can track the logins. Mine are all like searching for the acting reels i need or whatever to build their video features then his is like Hungry Sharks > Asphalt 8 > FIFA > Grindr > Some PotC game and so on. The occasional single googling of an article. And you can track this shit going on every day for WEEKS. So I bold ass call that out.
Like, you’re too busy to put in more work or to talk to Kira until it’s convenient to you but you can do [list of 20 apps] for 9 hours a day? On TOP of calling each of us for hours? What the FUCK?
He starts typing to argue back and I’m like, no motherfucker, don’t start. You are literally in here, hoping to work on the actual product being created by people with the work skills making this happen, claiming it’s your creation just because you ran off half cocked and made an SM account you tagged us into and it would look weird to break off AGAIN from OotO, so we ran with it but have literally put in every penny and working hour and bit of product to this and you expect us to wire you any and all cash out of it because what? You LITERALLY have said you just don’t want to work, you LITERALLY have done NOTHING but eat up our time while we give you endless chances, and you’re on here doing [list of 20 more apps] and googling a site once a day as your labor into this expecting cash to just pour into your pockets? Are you on crack?
Typing again,
No dude, we’re not here to pave your way.
Delete... typing again.
No, dude, you’re looking to make a quick buck on everybody else’s work and that’s not gonna fly.
Delete... typing again.
Dude, don’t even, it’s RIGHT THERE in the google history.
...[Tim has left this group]
Okay. Whatever. Ding dong the bitch is dead, we have more work to do. I onboard a few friends to help out with my video/transcripting load - not that TIm ever did any of that anyway - and get to work. I just leave it out of public. Keep rolling. In 2 days we get more work done than I usually did in 2 weeks because, guess what, I’m not cleaning up a manchild’s messes and getting called hours on end and having to argue about basic common sense. And I mean tangible work. Like, now we’re literally a month ahead on prep for our content that we were always running to the last minute on, off of a few DAYS of work. The rest is all time to grow and settle in now.
Turn around... find out his ass is subtweeting us. And not just subtweeting, he’s claiming it was discrimination because he was gay.
I shit you not.
He’s out there saying that Grindr was used to “throw his sexuality in his face” despite being on a list of like 20394203942039420394203942039420394 apps he was fucking around with all fucking day while pitching this attitude. *And* claiming someone was “creepy” for “checking out his browsing history.” not that I checked out *our group account history* because he was *trying to spend money on my card and tried to delete our facebook*, but hey. Spin it how you want, I guess?
My friend, who joined the hangout, and by proxy it loaded the chat history, called him on his shit. Who, by the way, is queer. Like no, motherfucker, this is just your own lazy spoiled entitled ass making its own bed, if it was a straight chat site you’d be getting bitched out for doing Fuck All just the same, what the fuck. I don’t care if it was eHarmony listed in there amidst all the games. Deal with your shit. He blocks her. Blocks everyone. Starts messaging people that are liking said friend’s comments on the thread going “I see you noticed the thread-” and trying his bullshit schpiel on them. Sorry dude. These are people I’ve built rapport with for years and know my work ethic, better luck next fucking time.
And the proof is in the pudding. I’ve gone from being entirely MIA and unreachable for weeks at a time drowning in this shit to being a month ahead on work, with said-friend only having to put in like 3-4 hours of useful additions (rather than basically working against us 16~ hours a week) and boom, we’re way ahead of the curve now! I’m talking to people again! Shit called. Mischief managed.
But if you ever want the image of a thousand stereotypes in one ball
a 25 year old white dude that is creepy as fuck with female guests to the point almost everybody picks up on it, lives with his mother, has never worked a job in his life, thinks breathing in his vicinity or playing games with him is reason to throw money at him, thinks he owns anything he looks in the direction of and thinks he should get all the money; and, on the other hand, falls into the (GENERALLY FAKE) stereotype that calls of discrimination against LGBT folk are just excuses (WHICH IS SHIT THAT MAKES IT HARDER WHEN ACTUAL DISCRIMINATION HITS).  *AND* having the audacity to go public about it *AFTER* we tried to quietly let him walk. The literal embodiment of the worst of every fucking stereotype rolled into one, from lazy young generation to men taking credit over the work women do and feeling superior to even attitudes that make honest hard-working LGBT folk have a hell of a time in the world when real discrimination hits.
AND HE WONDERS WHY HE’S UNEMPLOYABLE.
HOLY. SHIT.
...[flips tables]
For the record, here is said friend calling his shit. Some of you may know her, too.
So there, my rant of the day.
Men. Are fucking. Exhausting. Oh. My god.
But now, we’re ahead. We’re pulling ahead. We’re going to be stable and strong and we’re now poised to even increase our number of guests on the week, especially if those emails from the leads come in. We can take the punches, and everybody’s comfortable on interviews without him being weird on them now, and things are going places.
But christ on a coconut. This is literally *WHY* it’s so hard to get given a chance in the world. Because people like this are given a chance and they just... KSJFKSJDFksjfskdjf
I hate people.

Check out this post. Wildbow talks about his life on reddit. This explains so much about Taylor’s school experience. No Worm spoilers
This sounds interesting. I’ve frequently wondered about how Wildbow’s life shaped this story.
Let’s take a look.
Redditors who have opted out of a standard approach to life (study then full time work, mortgage etc), please share your stories. What are the best and worst things about your lifestyle, and do you have any regrets?
Well, the title is already intriguing.
Hermit writer here.
Born hard of hearing, went to a regular school. Struggled in middle school. Struggled in high school. Kids who were in my class in kindergarten were in my classes all the way through to grade ten, with the elementary/middle school and high school being a stone's throw from one another.
I kind of knew about the hard of hearing bit already. I can’t find the ask that told me about it, though (it was probably before I stopped using screenshots for asks).
So far this sounds relatively normal, except for that part. But I’m guessing he’s going to elaborate a bit on the struggles surrounding his school life and hearing problems?
In grade 10, after years of bullying and a peer group that had established who was 'in' and who was 'out' when I was knee-high, tired of struggling, I was walking down the halls and I found myself wondering when the last time I'd even opened my mouth in school was.
Oh wow.
I stopped dead in my tracks, just paralyzed by loneliness. I asked myself what the point was, couldn't come up with an answer, resumed walking, went out the side door of the school and went home.
This clearly parallels a few of the last times we saw Taylor at Winslow High.
The start of me just not going to school for that entire year. Nobody noticed.
Damn. He really did write all that from experience. It took a while for Taylor’s absence to get noted, too.
Taylor’s absence getting noted at all actually seems like a fantasy compared to this.
I got caught at the end of the year, did the same thing the next year, got caught only at the end.
What the hell sort of attendance routines did this school have? Clearly not good ones.
Ended up going to an Alternative school (Self study), proved to myself that I had it in me when I got 3 years of studying done in 8 months, won two awards... and then had to go back to my old school for what was essentially grade 13, where I struggled.
Huh. Well done.
People learn in very different ways. Some people can do this much more effectively than learning in a group. Some people are like me and can’t make themselves keep up the effort required to self study, or learn better from lectures than reading.
Some people learn by observing their surroundings while flying.
I worked retail and found it fine. But family wanted me to go to University and figure myself out.
I’m currently working retail, taking a break from the educational system and buying time to figure out what to study.
I went to University and I struggled.
Guys, I’m sensing a theme here.
I spent a long, long time trying to figure out why I struggled, why I was tired all the time, and it took a kind of confluence of events before I realized what should've been obvious. I found the social stuff hard and I was exhausted after a day of listening because I'm severely to profoundly deaf.
Oh yeah, that makes a ton of sense. It’s like how focusing is exhausting when you have trouble doing that, how reading without glasses you need tires out your eyes and brain, etc.
Honestly, it’s a little surprising that I haven’t (explicitly) met a hard of hearing character in Worm yet. Maybe later? Oh wait, there was that deaf waitress at the villain pub in Hive.
Beyond that, the 'path' just isn't for me. The systems and institutions just grind me down. The idea of a 9 to 5 is death to me. These things are built and streamlined for the average person, and between disability and a fairly extreme degree of introversion, I'm far from that average.
That is very fair. There’s definitely a brand of ableism in that system.
In the end, I stepped off the path. I'd been writing a thing online as a side project and the reception was good, so I decided to leave school earlier than planned, use the savings I had, stretch things as far as I could, and work when I could (with a family friend when he needed the help and had the cash to spare, doing some landscaping, drywall installation, house painting, all prepping houses for sale in a boom market) to stretch things further.
This would be too early for that thing online to be Worm, right?
It just occurred to me that I have no idea how old Wildbow is.
And I wrote as seriously as I could while people close to me told me that I didn't deserve to 'get lucky' and have the writing work out because I hadn't seen University all the way through, or openly expressed doubts and disappointments.
Yikes.
Fuck that noise. Writing is tons of effort!
But you know, it worked out in the end. I wrote the equivalent of 20 books in 2.4 years, wrote another 10 for my next series in the ensuing 1.2 years, and I've kept up a similar pace over the last 7 years and two months.
Especially when you’re this coddamn productive!
That’s 8.33 books a year!
I started writing mid- 2011, left school at the start of 2012, went full-time-paying-the-bills in 2014 with an income around minimum wage. I moved to a small town (no car, nothing fancy) that same year. I'm now closer to the average Canadian wage. It's been two chapters a week (2.5 if crowdfunding money is enough) since the beginning.
Oh, I suppose that means it would be Worm after all.
When was this written... huh, yesterday? Well, that explains why this hasn’t been sent to me before.
Writing being Wildbow’s only/main income makes me feel even more right about my decision to set things up so that some of the money from my Patreon goes to Wildbow. It’s not that big a portion of his income (apparently average Canadian wage is 986 CAD or 755 USD per week, and I chip in with about 3.26 CAD or 2.50 USD per week), but it’s something.
My reality: I can go a week or two without really talking to anyone that isn't a cashier.
Sounds a bit lonely in the long run, but as a fellow introvert (or maybe I’m an ambivert, in the systems where that’s actually a thing), I get it - it also does sound pretty good. Especially if you’ve got internet people to casually interact with at your own leisure.
Every two months or so I go to a relative's to dogsit while they're on vacation or to see someone for their birthday, and that gives me most of my fill of socialization and companionship.
Nice!
I don't have a car, so it's usually walking or taking the train to another city, and using public transpo there. I subsisted on a rice and beans diet for a good stretch, one $15 video game bought in a year, and my level of expenses hasn't really risen that much from that point. I eat better and buy a couple more things, but nothing major.
So I guess this would be somewhere between average and reserved?
I don’t know. Being Norwegian spoils me on these things.
60%+ of what I earn goes to savings, which gives me security when my income could fluctuate or disappear at any time.
Oh, that’s smart. I suppose writing would be a bit of a risky business, what with writer’s block, audience fluctuations, sudden drops in popularity because something you wrote didn’t go over as well as you thought it would, etc.
My schedule is entirely my own, which usually amounts to 2.5 15+ hour workdays a week and another 5-10 hours a week spent managing community, finances, and exchanging emails with tv/movie studios, publishers or startups.
I was going to talk about the long but few workdays, but tv/movie studios excuse me what
Is a TV series version of something Wildbow wrote (Worm or otherwise) a serious possibility right now?? :o
Best things - I love what I do. I love creating, I love my reader's tears, I love my readers being horrified.
This is really important. You gotta enjoy what you do.
I get to make monsters and be surprised by what my characters do. Many of my fans are just the absolute coolest people - people I'm now insanely glad to have met and include in my life. There's amazing fanart of my work out there, music, people have gotten tattoos. Tattoos. That's insane.
People have permanently, painfully painted their appreciation of your work into their bodies, Wildbow!
The bad- I'm an online content creator, and it's impossible to convey just how toxic the toxic elements of a fandom can get and how negative the negative aspects can get, and how much it can affect you.
That is true. There will always be a toxic side, and I can imagine works like Worm would attract a lot of the edgy sort.
I've seen 20 online content creators either break down or remark on the effect it has, and it's wholly accurate- and my audience isn't even ~that~ large.
Yeah, it doesn’t take that many people to start brewing fandom sides like this.
This is multiplied by the fact that writing is lonely as a profession (I know too many writers who can't even talk to their life partners about their work) and it can be hard to find perspective or balance as you take it all in, when you don't have people to communicate with.
Robert Jordan used his wife as a beta reader or editor of sorts. She was there to tell him when something he wrote didn’t quite come across, to make up for the fact that he couldn’t tell. After all, he knew what he meant by that one line.
On a similar note, some casual dating would be nice, and living in a small town for economical reasons doesn't leave me with a large dating pool, and at this point I'm not even sure if I could or should inflict myself on someone.
Oof.
There are way too many people who think like that. I hope you find happiness with someone who sees you for the good bean you are, Wildbow.
I'm healthy, groomed, I can hold a conversation, I'm just pretty set in my introverted ways.
...relatable, though.
But still, I’m pretty sure there are people out there for us, who not only tolerate but appreciate the introvert lifestyle.
Hell, both of my crushes have been very introverted, even compared to myself, so I know those people exist because I’m among them.
On another, less social note, there is the fact that as an online content creator, you can't really take breaks. Or you can, but it costs. Consistency and frequency of updates are god, and a hiatus is a death knell.
No wonder he criticized me on this that one time. In his situation, it matters a lot.
I don't even know what an effective vacation would entail, because I feel like finding my stride again would cost more than I gained from having the break. So it's been seven years and two months without a vacation, writing a short book every month.
Damn.
You deserve so many props, Wildbow.
...at some point here I started talking to Wildbow, just like I do to Taylor and other Worm characters. Well, at least this time there’s actually a chance he’s going to read this sometime, if he hasn’t dropped my blog.
I just hope he doesn’t think it’s weird that I’m liveblogging his life story.
It makes for a very strange sort of burnout, when I love it so much, I can still regularly put out some great work to acclaim and praise, but am nonetheless worn down around the edges.
That does not sound healthy.
No regrets. This is me. This is what I'm built for.
As long as you feel it’s right for you, this is good. :)
I could do with less negativity from some fans and getting regular good nights of sleep (the deafness comes with insomnia by way of terminal tinnitus), but both of those just come with the territory.
Ouch.
I feel you on the sleep front (ADD has its ways of messing with your ability to fall asleep too), but tinnitus sounds like a particularly annoying way to be inflicted with it.
I've been telling family for the last year that I'll move to a city with more going on than (as my elderly neighbor phrased it) drinking and meth, where there's classes to take, a possible dating pool, and/or activities that could break me out of my hermit shell... but my current apartment is amazing and cheap, with the nicest landlords ever. It's just in a do-nothing town. I haven't found anything remotely competitive, even taking 'cheap' off the table.
I’ve lived in small-ish towns all my life. It’s pretty nice, especially as an introvert.
So that's where I'm at.
Thank you, Wildbow. This was an interesting read. I feel like I know you a bit better now. :)
(Again, if you’re reading this, I hope it wasn’t too weird to see me liveblogging this.)

077: This Is The Secret Formula To Creating Content That Sells
Tumblr media
TUNE IN: ITUNES | STITCHER | SOUNDCLOUD | OVERCAST | SPOTIFY | TUNEIN | CASTBOX
Today’s talking point:
Here's a question that I know you've asked yourself:
What is the secret formula to actually creating free content that sells?
Well, you are going to love this episode because I am about to show you exactly how to turn free content into cash flow.
Bring a notebook and pull out your favourite beverage because you are going to want to stay until the very end. This is one of the most important skills you can learn as a modern business owner and I am going to show you exactly how to do it.
Reverse Engineer The Sale
The first tip I have for you when it comes to creating content that sells is that you need to reverse engineer the sale.
When you reverse engineer the process of creating content that leads people to an actual paid offer, everything shifts. It's that intersection point between content that you want to actually create to build trust and value in your community and the content that actually pays the bills that funds the mission.
I don't care if you are product based or service based - you have a mission that you have to fund, you have that big goal, and you have to find a way to help other people. Really, that comes down to profits and money.
You'll have heard me say this before, but choosing profitability over popularity is so key. In the traditional business world, you don't really come across this concept of creating content for free, that actually moves the needle in terms of sales. Even though direct response marketing has been around for a while, really the last ten years is when we’ve seen this explosion of modern marketing.
Leverage the power of education and the power of content creation to build trust and relationships with clients and customers. By giving your audience something of value for free, in exchange for that relationship and trust, hopefully they will take action on it and will actually purchase from you in the future. In the long run, they will tell all of their friends about you.
Direct Response Marketing
It is really dangerous to only focus on building the followers, the actual platform. It's easy to get addicted to the numbers and to constantly chase that new thing. Instead, slow the heck down and say:
How do I convert an actual follower?
How do I convert someone who just landed on my blog?
How do I convert a subscriber?
How do I turn that person into a paying client or customer, and not just any paying client or customer, but a paying client or customer that is absolutely thrilled to do business with me?
For so many brands, a customer journey literally is based on intent; meaning that the only marketing that they are doing is SEO. It is a very simple way of designing your content strategy; you basically convert a lead who has intent pretty quickly if:
You can address objections
You can actually be the company that has the highest ratings
You have the best customer testimonials
But that is also a very one sided approach to marketing. It's very short-term. Let's create content for the long haul, create content that is actually going to move people to action right now.
Before we even create a content piece, think, what is the objective of this piece? I'll tell you in my business, there isn't one single piece of content that we don't assign a purpose to to make sure they are actually going to move the needle in our business.
You Are A Business Owner First
There is this notion that if you move people to action, then all of a sudden, you are some kind of traitor, you sold out, or are only focused on the profits.
First of all, you're a business owner, you're an entrepreneur, you are a creator. You cannot exist without making a profit. Who the heck is going to pay for your bills? How are you going to fund your entire operation?
It's not being aggressive with your sales and your messaging, but the way you think about profits, the way that you strategise around profits. If you don't, you're actually doing a disservice to people who really need your help, to the people that want you to continue existing as a brand.
It's your responsibility to become profitable.
Creating A Process
When it comes to ironing down your customer buying journey, how do you reverse engineer that process? You may be thinking, I understand the theory, but how do you actually take what you just said and put it into practice? Here’s an example.
I have a group coaching program called the Busy to Boss Academy, and I created this podcast which is called Blog it, Boss it Radio. They both have “boss” in the title. Now, there are so many different reasons why I created this podcast. But when it comes to what is relatable, or what makes sense for this specific episode, it really is all about reverse engineering. It allows me to have longer form episodes, where I can dive deep into topics like this one, and I can build my relationship with you. I can give you a preview of what it's like in the Academy on the very surface level.
This is how you create a customer buying journey. This is how you create a content marketing system that takes people from zero to someone who purchases, so you can dive deeper into sharing your expertise.
The CTA
Niche your content down in a way that you are speaking directly to your target audience. Once you have an idea of the content you want to create and a strategy, how do you ask for a sale? There's going to be a call to action. A call to action can be anything from:
Buy my product
Schedule a consultation
Sign up for something to download
Join my email list
Once you know what the CTA is going to be, ask yourself: “Do I have enough right now, that would encourage people to actually take that next step in my buyer journey?”
There are a variety of ways you can look at this, and I want you to look at it from your own perspective.
Another way that you can move people to action directly is just to create a longer form type of content piece. Something you really want to keep in mind here is that, the higher the cost of your product, the more you want to build a relationship of trust with your audience. Make sure that, whoever is consuming that piece of content, even if they are brand new to your community, they feel a connection with you.
Oftentimes when you are going straight to the sale, it's really smart for you to make your blog post extra beefy.
Go live to promote it
Do something a little different
Create a video series
Share an entire full blown episode
Do an hour long live
It's about how much value you pack into that piece of content. If you are going to ask for the sale and your product is high end, you need to make your promotion or interaction valuable and irresistible. Take time crafting that content piece, and then transition well into the “ask.”

YouTube Is Failing. I don’t know if I can keep this up forever.
I think its time I gave some of my take on this whole thing going on lately. If you’re unaware, YouTube is striking content for very silly reasons, some of which it refuses to explain. Videos get demonetized for no reason now because YouTube’s AI is biased to pick on certain channels, and the whole thing is trying to push a more family friendly, ant-controversy feeling. A lot of people are talking about the way the system works now, how creators are effected, and how there’s not much hope of fixing it. I decided that I wanted to talk about how its affecting me on an emotional level, having this anvil on a string above my head with “not suitable for all advertisers” written on it.
As per usual, here’s a stream of consciousness rant about where I feel like all this is going for myself personally. Some of this I wrote down while texting a friend on the subject and then realizing that these points were probably important to share on a broader scale.
I love making videos on this platform, but I feel like we're running on borrowed time. Its only a matter of time before this is not long financially viable and I have to drop all hopes of using it as a career. I've wanted to make it as a YouTuber since I started watching the site in 2008 and made my own channel in 2010. Now it feels like right when I'm making progress and have an audience, I'm only weeks out from getting shanked by the system and left to bleed in a gutter while my loving followers stand in a circle and panic while they fail to close the wound. Then I’ll be left to start over in some other entertainment field that's far less accessible than YouTube once was. All my life I’ve wanted to be a public persona and an entertainer. Ever since I was a kid. I felt it most when I became isolated and alone in middle school. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
A lot of people begged me to start the Patreon as a last ditch effort to keep a steady flow of revenue before the bot inevitably notices all the times I committed to dark comedy and swear words in my videos.  Now, the thing is, Patreon and stream donations are entirely dependent on the kind of audience loyalty I have.  If I can't continue to grow as a channel, that audience stagnates.  If I can't keep providing videos for that audience, they will stop caring, regardless of how loyal they are right now.  They can't keep donating to someone who isn't posting videos anymore. Its a waste of their money and I don’t think they should do that. The paradox is that if I can't keep producing in a way that narrowly slips past the censors and bots, I will implode, but the more content I produce, the closer I get to being unable to make more content.  I need a steady stream of content going or else I'll be forgotten. I can't keep a steady stream if YouTube is kneecapping creators in favor of whoever gets them the most cash. If the money doesn’t keep flowing, I’ll have to get a normal job and then have even less time to make videos, meaning that I’ll just get closer and closer to having to quit entirely because its going back to being a profitless hobby that’s distracting me from being responsible and working for a living.
I’ve heard others tell me that I can get by if I just go PG with the whole thing. That’s more difficult than it may seem.  I'd be unable to put out a lot of gameplay videos because games are almost always violent and Kyle and I almost always cuss because that’s how my friend and I communicate. That’s our normal banter. Censoring that to fit the guideline and talking to each other with restrictions becomes disingenuous and its more clear that I’m trying to do the video to appease YouTube than to have fun. However,  I can avoid cussing in reviews. In fact, in the Marvel nemesis review I said "shit" once and zero f-words.  That wasn't even intentional honestly, I just didn't have a reason to swear that much. I think in my scripted material, I can exercise self control and avoid more adult oriented language and material, but that sort of limits the tone and humor people have come to expect from me and like about my channel.
My goal from day one was to be a comic channel that can have fun and isn’t quite as rigid or sterile as the others. Other comic channels do two things. They look at the material as something to be taken too seriously and avoid having any kind of humor towards it, often functioning as a sort of fanboy echo chamber to perpetuate safe and sterile opinions on this material without having a sense of identity or memorability. The other thing they do is become this sort of manufactured and dishonest figure, by really jumping on the train to make easy money and ride the sudden popularity of the medium that sprang up in the past decade. They report on and commentate on comics, but they often feign interest in it or turn their nose up at it with a subtlety that says to me, “I secretly think this is ridiculous and people who like this are more so, but they give me money so whatever lol Spider-Man radiation semen in Spider-Man Reign, remember that?????? I’ve never even read that story but I bring it up constantly for the lulz” I honestly fucking despise both. I felt like most comic channels (with exceptions of course) gave this medium a bad name by taking it too seriously or not seriously enough. I thought the thing that made me unique was by staying in the middle and making jokes where appropriate, but also expressing my genuine love and fascination at others. And it was working. People were noticing and I was picking up steam. Now in the past few weeks, I feel like I’ve been unable to increase my audience. I can’t seem to gain subscribers in the pace I used to, and even my comic book related videos are under-performing. I don’t think this is the fault of my current audience, I think they’re more excited than ever. I think its that the system is becoming increasingly hostile towards creators and making it harder to get noticed and build upon an established audience unless it was ALREADY massive. Channels with 2 million+ subs get promoted more and more, while channels with only a few thousand are either getting dismantled by the robot or just struggling to ice-skate uphill and get more views. Some mothafuckas’ always trying to ice skate uphill.  So in addition to being worried about being unable to keep making things the way I do without losing financial stability, I’m also worried that I won’t be able to keep growing with the safe and sterile content I’d have to make to keep being financially stable, and the way I’m making things currently is also being actively ignored by YouTube because I don’t spam 15 videos a day to stay relevant in the eyes of the promotion bot. Its a 3 pronged problem. You can almost turn it into some kind of complex equation. But the end result is that I’m getting stuffed from 3 different angles and its looking more grim as I go. In all honesty, I don’t see my channel surviving past the end of 2018. I can already imagine myself making a teary eyed video explaining that I can’t do this anymore because I can’t afford to pay my bills.
Honestly, this is very stressful for me. The thing I love doing most, the thing that I felt like gave my life meaning for the past 3 years... its being taken away little by little. I used to get made fun of for the things I liked. People actively avoided me in school for the comic books and video games because those weren't cool things to them. Now people respect me for liking those things and think I'm cool for knowing so much about both. I took my weakness and made it a strength.  I have this legion of amazing people that treat me like I'm important now and I feel like once I can't provide entertainment for them anymore, they'll forget about me. And then I'll just have to work at the grocery store and never express my ideas and opinions. I'll just get set back to being a face in the crowd that barely anyone talks to. I don’t know what to do anymore. Best I can hope for is to just keep making things for my small but respectable audience. I’ll keep making them laugh and making them think and then when I can’t do it anymore, we’ll part ways and I’ll find a new way to entertain. And I’ll just pray to whatever’s out there that those fans will remember the times I made them laugh or made them think, and they’ll smile and ask “whatever happened to GodzillaMendoza?” And hopefully they’ll find me in whatever new corner of the world I’m in trying to make a living being creative, and they’ll support that new dumb endeavor. I really feel like I have something to give to the world as a creator. Its just hard to do that sometimes, but generations before mine had it harder. Steven Spielberg and John Carpenter and pre-scumbag-George Lucas all had their own uphill battles becoming household names. They had to fight to put their ideas out there in a vacuum. The sad reality is, for a short time in society, it became super easy to be a big name creative type, no matter what you looked like, what you were into, and where you were from. For a time, anyone could have made it to the big-time. I’m trying my best, and maybe through some sheer accident I can be one of those people. But as it is now, it looks like I may have hopped on just a few years too late. It won’t be easy anymore. It’ll go back to being this infinite struggle to be heard or noticed. Both as a person, and as a creative voice. I dread that feeling, but I suppose deep down, I’m ready for it.
Being me was never meant to be easy. With every personal struggle, every abusive father, every financial hurdle, every cheating girlfriend and broken heart, every lie I’ve been told by someone I trusted, every cruel school bully, every time I had to fall back on a handful of pills to make it through the day without collapsing... with all of that plus run-on sentences-- I’ve gotten used to fighting to simply exist. Maybe this is just part of that. I can’t exist without art. Videogames, comics, movies, books, every other kind. It all makes me who I am, and its all I feel like I can give to the world. I’ll keep trying to give that until there’s nothing left of me. I never wanted to be rich and famous. I just wanted to live comfortably and stress-free doing the things that make me happy. Being an adult for a year and being responsible for myself taught me there’s no such thing as living comfortably or stress-free. Its always a battle with the world and yourself. So fuck it, I guess I’ll just keep going anyway. Live through the despair with blind hope and just pretend that I’m not freaking out constantly. This is going to get a lot worse and might not ever get better, but I can’t give up. I’m not particularly handsome. I can’t be some innovative inventor that will fix society’s problems. I don’t have the influence to reshape society and make the world more peaceful with a silver tongue.
All I can do is try to make living on Earth a little more fun for other people with this warped imagination of mine. Without sharing my creativity, I really have nothing left. I won’t live through that.

Welcome to the Instagram Unlocked: From 0 to 100,000 Followers - New Neil Patel Course - An Information Blog
Welcome to the Instagram Unlocked: From 0 to 100,000 Followers - New Neil Patel Course
Today I'm going to teach you how to go from zero to a hundred thousand followers on Instagram in less than a year. RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________ Follow me on Instagram: https://ift.tt/31uswxJ ____________________________________________ Before we get started, to give you a rough idea, I know you want to do well on Instagram, but you're not going to achieve results unless you go through the scores fully, you don't skip ahead, you want to go through it step by step, video by video, you got to take notes. You got to make sure you execute on every little detail. If you do that, it's not hard, there's only six videos. If you do that, you'll start getting loved by Instagram. And you'll notice that your follower account grows, not just with those quote unquote fake followers, but I'm talking about real followers that comment, engage, buy. Those are the ones you want and those are the ones that I'm going to to teach you how to get. Some quick facts about Instagram, founded in 2010, in April, 2012, Facebook acquired the service for roughly a billion dollars in cash and stock. The total number of monthly active users is over a billion and 68% of people come to Instagram to interact with creators. I look at Instagram as a place where I also get a lot of data, and feedback, and inspiration from creators as well as influencers. And it's so effective that companies and marketers have spent anywhere from 25 grand to a hundred grand on influencer marketing each year, and that number is going up and that money is mainly being spent by companies right now on Instagram over telling influencers to post on let's say Facebook. And there's even some influencers like the Kardashians that get hundreds and hundreds and thousands of dollars. There's some that probably command up to a million plus dollars. I don't know of any of them, but there must be some that command over a million dollars, but there's many of them that easily rake in a hundred plus thousand dollars per post. Some business facts for you on Instagram, the number of likes per day is 4.2 billion. Just think about that, 4.2 billion. There's roughly 7 billion people in this world. So 4.2 billion, that's a lot of like, sure, not everyone is doing likes, but there's some people who are liking a lot of images. And Instagram generates over 20 billion dollars in ad revenue per year. Current valuation is over a hundred billion dollars and it now has more than 25 million business profiles and more than 2 million monthly active advertisers. That's a lot. That's why they're such a popular site. According to SimilarWeb, it's the fifth plus most popular site in the world, it's amazing. And when you look at the United States, estimate is 75.3% of businesses are on Instagram. And that number is increasing overtime at a rapid pace. So if you're not on Instagram, you got to join. And if you're already on Instagram, don't worry, I'm going to show you how to become popular. Now, this course focuses on getting to a hundred thousand followers. If you have more than a hundred thousand followers, sure, this course is going to teach you some stuff, but it's really more valuable to the people who are going from zero or even in the thousands to a hundred thousand and beyond. If you're trying to get to a million, 2 million followers, this course probably won't help you as much, as I mentioned, it's really to help you get to your first hundred thousand followers. So as long as you follow everything, you'll start seeing better and better results. I also mentioned that there are six videos, you're going to get a video roughly once every two days. And you can find all the videos at neilpatel.com/training, click on Instagram Unlocked and start following along. And this is what you're going to learn during those six videos. We just went over getting started, the basic fundamentals of Instagram, some facts and data. Then you're going to go over profile foundation. Then we'll go over content types, case studies, marketing hacks, and behind-the-scenes. My favorite lesson is going to be Instagram marketing hacks, I think you're going to love that one as well. 7 Actionable Tips On How To Market Your Business On Instagram
youtube
Did you know that 75.3% of the U.S. will use Instagram in 2020? This means that if you’re in the US, your competition is most likely on Instagram. So if you’re not on there, it might be time to learn how to market your business on Instagram. It doesn’t matter what part of the world you live in. If you have a business, then you should strongly consider having a profile on Instagram. After all, it’s owned by Facebook, which is one of the largest social media platforms on the planet with over 2 billion active users and counting. Personally, I’m a huge fan of Instagram. I’m a sucker for beautiful images and Instagram has plenty of those. However, we’ll save that for another time. Let’s talk about how you can market yourself on Instagram to grow your business.
How To Market Your Business On Instagram
Create A Business Profile - How To Introduce Your Business On Instagram
Optimize Your Profile - Instagram Branding Strategy
Use Relevant Hashtags - How To Promote Instagram Post
Post Consistently - How To Use Instagram For Marketing
Create Quality Images - How To Market Your Business On Instagram
Use IGTV for long-form content
Go Live On Instagram - How To Market Your Business On Instagram
Create A Business Profile - How To Introduce Your Business On Instagram
There are several different types of profiles you can have on Instagram. For most people, they have what’s called a personal profile. This is the standard profile that most people start and end up with when on Instagram. There’s also a Creator profile. If you’re a content creator or influencer, then this profile might be a good fit for you. It’s open to the public and gives you access to deeper insights about how your account is growing. For example, you receive access to the daily number of follows and unfollows to your Instagram account. As a point of comparison, business accounts only gives you access to weekly follow and unfollow count. The business account gives you access to additional insights, much like the Creator profile. For instance, you get a complete breakdown of your audience’s demographics such as their location, age, and gender. You can also add multiple contact options to your account where visitors can choose to contact you by phone or email. You can also promote your posts as ads right from the platform. As a quick disclaimer, I don’t recommend using this feature, but if you need to quickly put together a promotion, then this might do the trick.
Optimize Your Profile - Instagram Branding Strategy
Activating your business profile is only half the battle. Now you need to put your best foot forward so you can give your audience the best first impression. Your profile picture should be some type of branded image. If you have a logo, then I highly recommend using that. If this is for a personal brand, then you can use yourself. If you have the extra cash, get a professional photo taken! Next, put some time into writing an interesting bio. You could sum your business up in a few words or perhaps use a catchy slogan. The goal is to leave your audience wanting to know more about you. Finally, make sure to include a link in your profile. It could be a link to a blog, YouTube channel, signup form, or whatever. This is free traffic to your website so don’t miss out on it.
Use Relevant Hashtags - How To Promote Instagram Post
It feels like we’ve been using hashtags forever, doesn’t it? In fact, they’ve only been around since 2007 where it first appeared on Twitter. Now, almost every major social media platform uses hashtags like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and of course, Instagram. At a basic level, hashtags help to provide more visibility on the platform. There are probably hundreds, if not thousands of hashtags on Instagram. Well-placed hashtags can expose your account to dozens of new visitors. Some of them might end up becoming followers. This brings me to my next point of using relevant hashtags, which is follower growth. Having an Instagram account with few or no followers doesn’t build trust in the eyes of your audience. People are more willing to follow when there’s already a crowd, and the same is true on social media. The larger your following grows, the easier it will be to get more followers.
Post Consistently - How To Use Instagram For Marketing
There’s no point in having an Instagram profile if you’re gonna post on it once in a blue moon. You’ll never gain any traction that way.
If you’re serious about learning how to market your business on Instagram, then you need to commit to being consistent. Otherwise, don’t waste your time.
On a technical level, the Instagram algorithm, which is the program that decides what shows up on your feed, will show your posts more often if you post consistently.
Think about it from their perspective. Instagram wants people to stay on their platform as long as possible. Content in the forms of images and videos is what keeps people on the platform.
If you post often and people like your stuff, then you’re helping out Instagram. In return, they will reward you with more exposure.
When you start posting consistently, your audience will start expecting your posts at a certain time. This helps to increase brand loyalty in the long-term.
Consistent posting also helps to build credibility with your audience. When you’re sharing valuable content on a consistent basis, you begin to look like an authority in the eyes of your target market. You’ll stay top of mind with your audience and as a result, it is very likely that they will turn to you if they face a problem that you can solve with your product or service.
Create Quality Images - How To Market Your Business On Instagram
You can’t win on Instagram if you have subpar images. That’s not gonna cut the mustard. Fortunately, this is pretty easy to do. I recommend using high-quality stock photos if you’re on a budget. There are a couple of sites available that you can use like Pixabay, Maxpexels, or Unsplash. If you really want to take your posts to the next level, then get familiar with Canva. I’ve tried using other tools like Canva, but honestly, nothing else compares. I’ll probably do a review post on Canva in the future, so be on the lookout for that. Anywho, Canva has all the tools you need to whip up some social media posts in just a couple of minutes. There are also a ton of different presets and templates available, to further help you streamline the process. This brings me to my final point about creating quality images. Try out different formats to see which one your audience resonates with the most. You never know until you try, so don’t be afraid to experiment to see what works.
Use IGTV for long-form content
If you’re sharing a video in the feed, the maximum length is 60 seconds. This is usually more than enough for most businesses and brands.
However, you might want to share something that you can’t talk about in under 60 seconds. This is where IGTV comes into the picture.
IGTV launched back in June 2018 and has seen gradual adoption among B2B and B2C Companies. However, B2C adoption does have a slight edge in the adoption rate.
It was originally built for vertical videos but subsequent updates allowed landscape videos to be used as well. Still, I would advise using vertical over landscape videos, which naturally conforms to how people are already holding their phones.
Like YouTube videos, you can customize the cover photo or thumbnail of your video. You can use this to your advantage to create something that calls out to your target audience.
The purpose of the thumbnail is to get people to stop and click on your video so keep this in mind as you’re creating it.
Go Live On Instagram - How To Market Your Business On Instagram
Livestreaming is not for the faint of heart. But if you’re comfortable with being on camera in real-time, then this could be a good fit for you. Before you go live, you want to determine the purpose of your live stream first. It won’t look good for you or your business if you go live and you start going off in a million different directions. With that being said, there are a number of options available to you. You can do a “behind-the-scenes” Livestream where you show people what goes on in the backend of your business. People appreciate this because it appears raw and authentic. You could also do a Q&A session with your audience where you can field questions from your viewers in real-time. Or you can prepare your questions beforehand and answer them on the live stream. Once you decide what the goal of your live stream is, the next step is to promote it to your audience. If you promote the live stream a few days in advance, you might be able to gather more viewers when you officially go live. Also, your audience will be anticipating your live stream, which will also help boost its performance. After the live stream is over, you can share it in your Stories for up to 24 hours. This will help you get additional eyeballs to your live stream and especially to your followers who couldn’t make it to the “live” version. The Best Hands On Window Tinting School – New York – 4 Days – Every Month
– What's up, guys? My name is Sean, creator and mentor here at Window Tint Warriors I am known for helping people learn automotive window tinting so that they can pursue their dream of opening their own business, or even adding window tinting to an existing business to create an additional source of cashflow
Have you tried to teach yourself automotive window tinting, but just get completely overwhelmed with all the steps, and not knowing where to start, what film to use, or what tools to buy? Or maybe you're someone that has gone to a different hands on window tinting school, but they barely taught you anything you needed to know in order to become a successful window tinter, with the ability to make an insane amount of cash flow doing something you really enjoy doing on a daily basis, while doing it at your own pace, and on your own schedule If you can relate to that, then it's safe to say that me and you have a lot in common When I was in high school at the age of 17, I'd spend every minute I could on YouTube and Google searching for tint installation videos, absorbing as much information as I possibly could from the amazing content that I would find But for me, it just wasn't good enough I'm a very hands on person, I need to feel, and touch, and practice in order to learn
In order to fulfill this need, I signed up for a trade school which specialized in aftermarket automotive accessories I learned some things about window tinting, but not enough to get me going as a business owner As my passion continued to burn to become the best I can become at automotive window tinting, I came across a local business that actually hired me, and trained me to become a professional window tinter Now you can either call that luck, or even faith, but I am extremely grateful that it happened From that day on, I have learned every tip, trick, and secret of owning and operating a full blown window tinting business
Long story short, I worked for and got trained by that business for about two years I then left them to start my own brick and mortar location, which is now the highest rated window tinting business in New York state This rating comes from my Google business reviews with a solid five star rating Now if you're still watching this, it means I have your full blown attention, and I have motivated you to do exactly what I've done Well guess what, it's your lucky day, because I've created the best and most informational hands on window tinting class you could ever attend in your life
Over the years of being in the window tinting business, I've seen so many different window tinting schools that are usually just another shop trying to steal someone's hard earned money, and waste their days with an extremely unorganized, misinformed learning experience I have come to the table to solve this problem by providing a precisely designed four day curriculum breaking down every single aspect of the automotive window tinting process to ensure every student is capable of succeeding after completing and leaving the Window Tint Warriors hands on class Are you ready to take the next step to success? Is this something you are interested in pursuing as a career? Or are you a shop owner looking to have your employees properly trained to be professional window tinters? This is what you need to gain the experience, the knowledge, techniques, and upper hand on becoming the best window tint installer and or business owner that you can possibly be When you take our four day hands on automotive window tinting class, you won't only receive the knowledge and experience needed to become a professional window tinter, but as a bonus, you will also receive a complete window tinting tool-set, including everything needed to get started, and continue learning progressively from the minute you walk into our class, to the minute you get back home, and for the future to come as you continue to succeed The details on what's included in this kit are listed below this video
But wait, you thought that was the only bonus that you would get from me? I've got a couple extra bonuses for those of you that take immediate action When you register for the four day hands on window tinting class, you will also receive immediate lifetime access to the Window Tint Warriors online automotive window tinting course In this course there are 35 plus videos, and continuing to grow, going over every step of the window tinting process This is awesome for those of you that wanna get the information fresh in your head before you come down to the hands on event It will also be great for reference to look back on after leaving the hands on training, in case there was something that you needed to refresh in your mind when practicing at home
I would highly recommend taking advantage of this free bonus, as it is extremely informational and valuable Now guys, make sure you reserve your spot today We keep the classes in small groups to ensure everyone gets equal attention, and they have been filling up a lot faster than we've expected But wow, how awesome does this all sound? I have spent countless hours developing this amazing hands on curriculum and video database for all of you that wanna take your lives to the next level with the window tinting business But wait, that is not all
On top of the complete tool-set, and the lifetime access to the automotive window tinting course online, I have a third bonus for you This bonus is a work of art, and truly a labor of dedication and commitment to your success When you register for the four day hands on training, you will also instantly receive six months of access to my vehicle specific installation video database If you don't already know what this is, then I'm really about to blow your mind Within the vehicle specific database, you will gain access to a wide range of videos on exact year, make, and models of vehicles going over the proper process of the lower gasket removal on all doors, as well as extremely valuable tips and tricks you should know for that specific vehicle
You can literally watch me tint the car that you have to tint, before you even work on it How amazing and stress relieving does that sound? On top of that, this database is ever growing, which means new videos of new vehicles are added weekly Talk about a never ending cheat sheet (sighs) Man, that's a lot of information I really hope you guys see my excitement and commitment to having the opportunity to mentor and train you hands on to become a professional window tinter of the near future
This class is my opportunity to spread my knowledge of a trade that is so overlooked and underrated as a business opportunity, with the potential for huge profit margins, and a life with more time to do the things you want with the people you love Take action now, and join the Window Tint Warriors four day hands on training class I promise you will not be disappointed I'll see you guys there

A man in a billowing black cloak approached me.
“Where were you yesterday? You would’ve been a shoe in at the masquerade!”
By my robotic side, my diminutive companion, resplendent in her Pokémon gear giggled. It was Sunday morning at Hazard Con.
In all fairness, I’m really not much more than a tourist when it comes to anime. However, my daughter just turned 13 and is slowly finding herself more and more ensconced n the genre – and she anticipates Anime conventions now with equal or greater interest than comic book conventions. While I had previously been content to include one every year, I get the impression we’re going to be hitting more of these as time goes on.
I had recently become aware of Hazard Con, though I never attended it before. It’s been about a decade since I need to drive into Erie Pennsylvania (is Erie Horror Fest even still a thing anymore?). It’s about two hours from Cleveland, but it’s not a hard drive – you basically drive in a straight line on a single freeway for the entire trip, the convention center being attached to a hotel that sits right by the exit.
We had chosen to come on Sunday for a couple of reasons. Hazard con does not offer single day passes for Friday or Saturday, you either by the weekend pass for $40 or simply go on Sunday when the admission is reduced to $15. Because it’s Sunday, hours are little shorter as well, with things closing up around 5 o’clock. That’s fine, I wasn’t even certain that Maddie would make it all the way to 5 o’clock. Besides, this seemed like a nice low key opprutunity to try out the newly repaired Voltron costume and see how the changes held up. Maddie for her part, was looking forward to bringing out her Serena outfit again.
In addition to a vendor‘s room, Hazard Con also sports a flea market – held for half a day in one of the panel rooms. If you think the dealers room is eclectic, you ain’t seen nothing yet! Movies and toys in bits and bobs littered the tables, and we resolved to come back and check it out a little bit later – that ended up being a mistake since we misjudged how long the market would last and by the time we returned, they were all packing up.
As we pressed further into the convention center, we passed the movie room, then rounded the corner and found ourselves face-to-face with a giant robot. I don’t just mean someone in a costume like a Voltron outfit I was wearing. No, there was an actual eight or 9 foot replica of one of the giant robots from Pacific Rim. Next to it was a small one person land speeder and they were both gorgeous! We took photos by the props before hassling into Kyle Herbert’s panel. Kyle is a voice actor – and an incredibly prolific one. He was a regular at the late and lamented Shinbokou Con. It was good to hear his casual and self-deprecating humor as he hosted a very informal panel – more of a talk with those of us in the crowd and the sort of easy back-and-forth that Herbert excels at.
Once his panel concluded, we proceeded to explore further – the vendor‘s room was in an adjacent wing. It seemed bigger than the ones I’ve seen at Woo-Con or Zipcon, but perhaps it was just the floor plan. Being set up in the atrium, the bright mid-day sun poured down on the room creating a warm and positive atmosphere – it was a remarkable effect. Inside, Maddie spotted a No-Face – one of the characters from Spirited Away. I prodded her and encouraged her to go and ask for a photo. The cosplayer happily greeted her. The No-Face’s arms slowly emerged from the inky blackness of it’s costume, and you could see a gold coin offered up in the black hand. No-Face had come bearing gold, just as it had in it’s movie. They were chocolate coins, and Maddie happily accepted them.
“Come pet our table!” One vendor shouted out. We wandered over to her table and noted half of it was covered in color changing spangles, and the other half was covered in soft fur.  Among the curious wares were little stuffed dumpings. Each came with an adoption certificate and back story. Maddie had already dumped her con allowance into a pokeball with a small Pokemon and candy inside. I decided to grab a dumpling to take home to Lydia. It was by far the cutest thing I found in that dealer’s room. I grabbed a “Bag of Cheap” for myself and was excited to discover the blind bag contained Tenchi and Cyber City Odeo DVDs! I was hoping for Japanese candy – some of the more interesting Kit Kats or something, but didn’t find anything that really interested me. Nevertheless, I grabbed some more deals on a Cap figure and some Cash movies, topped off with a couple of buttons for my con bag.
We briefly checked out the tabletop room but they were between Pokémon tournament, and gaming is never really been a big thing for either of us. Around the corner and down in a separate hall we discovered the arcade. This game room flat-out puts to shame every convention video game room I’ve ever seen.Sure there were the tables with old systems  set up for retrogaming just as you would expect, but what really drew your eyes as you entered was the room packed full of Japanese arcade machines – over a dozen games the US has never seen. There are familiar games like Dance Dance Revolution and some 2D fighters, but they were outnumbered by rhythm games and flashing light and spectacle. Maddie’s favorite was a rhythm game that involves two gigantic drums. Two players standing side-by-side would try and keep the rhythm with the graphics on the screen. I enjoyed seeing the Genesis set up again and the other retro games, in fact I probably could’ve spent all day in this room alone, but anime was calling our names!
We broke for lunch briefly and then hit the Anime room for three episodes of Seven Seeds. The second episode is really scary with some monsters on board and I wondered how Maddie was going to react – this stuff is more serious then a lot of the light-hearted magical girl things she watches, but she was entranced – and when they finally ended this run to break for the next panel, she was already insisting that we need to find more of this. It’s on Netflix by the way, it’s some good post apocalyptic stuff which probably appeals to Maddie‘s Hunger Games and Walking Dead sensibilities. Next up was the Studio Ghibli panel. Even I’m familiar with Miyazaki, indeed Spirited Away was the first film out of his studio that I ever saw (coincidently that was at Lake Effect Comic Con). It was interesting to hear a little more about the history of the studio and the idiosyncrasies of its creators. We headed back to the Anime room, but somebody had turned the air-conditioning way up to uncomfortable levels. Perhaps they were just trying to save us from having to watch the terrible Godzilla animation. We made one last pass at the game room and decided to call it a day. I was correct, Maddie didn’t last all the way until five, though she may have if that Anime room had frozen us out. We made our way out to the car around 4:15 to start the long trip home. This is one of those cons that is the exact right size for me, not too big not too small – I just wish it was closer to home. Nevertheless it looks like this might be one we come back to next year, and  I’ll be interested in seeing what the guest list looks like then.

6 Expert Tips for Building Your 2019 LinkedIn Marketing Strategy
I’ll be honest. I consider LinkedIn a necessary evil.
I don’t have my push notifications on and I don’t check out what’s going on in there even half as often as Twitter (which, for me, is about 1/10th as often as Facebook.)
However, the platform made some significant improvements in 2018. In fact, I’m actually looking forward to using it more in 2019. Crazy, I know!
LinkedIn has made huge updates to Groups, rolled out native video functionality for company pages, launched a Vimeo integration, and have even started dipping their toes into Stories.
So, with all that in mind, I wanted to build a strategy for my 2019 LinkedIn marketing.
I asked some of my friends to whom I look for LinkedIn advice for some tips because I know they get great engagement on their posts.
Below are six of the main components of my 2019 LinkedIn strategy based on my research combined with what these great LinkedIn marketers had to say.
The first four are centered around how to construct the perfect LinkedIn post.
1. Write More!
You have 1,300 characters available to you on a personal LinkedIn post. It turns out, at least in this case, longer is better.
In fact, some people have reported their long-form updates receive 10 times more visibility than a short post or link to an article.
If you are going to link to an article Mark Rogers, marketing director at Carney, suggests doing two things:
“If you’re posting a link to a blog post on LinkedIn, do two things:
1) Provide value directly in the post itself. Before the link, write context about what it is and why people might want to read it. Write this in a way that tells a story and engages with your reader. If you keep them reading the post, they’ll be more likely to click through.
2) Lose the link preview. When you post a link, LinkedIn gives you the option to remove the preview. Do that. People see so many links on LinkedIn that they tend to ignore typical link posts. Removing the link preview is a bit counterintuitive, but it works to catch attention. People see that it’s not a traditional, boring link post and they’ll take a second to read what you wrote (as long as you follow step 1 above). You can also replace the link preview with an image or video." - Mark Rogers, marketing director at Carney
Example of a text post with a photo and the link in the first comment vs. a link preview post on LinkedIn.
It’s also recommended that you post the link to your content in the first comment, as shown above, instead of within the post. If you do this, remind your readers to check out the link in the comments so they don’t forget to look there.
This is because, like other social networks, the LinkedIn algorithm wants to keep people on LinkedIn (of course they do) for as long as possible.
Every time you publish a post on LinkedIn the algorithm determines whether your content shows up in the feed and how far of an audience it reaches.
By not including a link that would take users off of the platform, your content is more likely to be shown in your followers’ feeds. Content you post on LinkedIn should be optimized for engagement and not just to get people to click the link to content on your own website.
"The key here is to just do something different and more valuable than everyone else."- Mark Rogers, marketing director at Carney
2. Tag People in LinkedIn Posts
Once you’ve formatted the perfect post that provides value to your readers it’s time to tag people!
When you tag someone in a LinkedIn post, their connections and people who follow them will also see that content. Once a few people engage with the post it’s also seen by those people’s followers and connections.
"All the money is to be made in the relationships you build on LinkedIn." - Yisrael Friedenberg, linguistic engineer and chief branding officer at Expirit.
This doesn’t mean you can just tag anyone in your post, though.
Stick to tagging people you’ve quoted or referenced in the content you are sharing. (hint hint: like I did with this article.)
Example of a LinkedIn post tagging people mentioned in the linked article.
Then, if there’s someone you’ve been talking to recently who you think would find the article particularly interesting, you can tag them as well.
Tread lightly with this though - not everyone will appreciate being tagged in this way.
You may want to start by sending a post directly to them with a message about why they’ll find it interesting and then if they’re receptive to this, continue helping them by tagging them in the next piece of content you share if it’s related to their interests.
In fact, Yisrael Friedenberg, linguistic engineer and chief branding officer at Expirit, recommends doing exactly this.
“What makes LinkedIn the most powerful networking tool of all time is not that you can go viral. Vitality is useless for most people on LinkedIn, because they will not make one single solitary dollar off of that attention.
All the money is to be made in the relationships you build on LinkedIn. They'll become the clients and referral sources you need because they'll actually know and like and trust you, which you can't achieve by going viral once and getting a thousand likes on a post.
So instead of putting all of your attention on writing the post which will make you famous, focus on choosing people to build relationships with. Engage actively with their content. DM them. Schedule calls and meetups. [This is] how you take LinkedIn from being a popularity contest and turn it into a cash-generating machine.” - Yisrael Friedenberg, linguistic engineer and chief branding officer at Expirit.
3. Use Hashtags to Get Discovered
LinkedIn users can follow a hashtag to get content on that topic in their feed even if they don’t follow specific influencers for that topic.
You may have noticed LinkedIn now auto-suggests hashtags when you post an update.
Suggested hashtags on a LinkedIn post.
At first glance, their recommendation engine leaves a lot to be desired. I tend to see hashtags suggested by LinkedIn that are very broad or have very little, if anything, to do with what my post is about.
However, the suggested hashtags can give you some inspiration for what to include.
If you’re unsure which version of a hashtag to include, do a quick search for that topic in LinkedIn and you’ll be able to see the number of followers on that hashtag.
Hashtag followers on LinkedIn.
4. Upload Native Video
In case you’ve been stranded on a deserted island for the past year, allow me to remind you: video is vital.
Like most other social platforms that want to keep you on their network for as long as possible, LinkedIn favors native video over links to external videos.
Native video means uploading a video file directly to the platform as opposed to simply sharing the link to a video which is hosted somewhere else, such as YouTube.
Here are a few great ways to include native video in your 2019 LinkedIn marketing strategy:
Record a short video giving an overview of the content you’re sharing.
Review a book or other piece of content and share your review.
Share videos of client testimonials. (Not sure how to get clients to record one? Start here.)
Do an overview of a product or platform and share a few tips or tricks.
Create a teaser or trailer to a longer video or episode of a series.
Here is a great example of using native video in a post by Tammy Duggan-Herd, Ph.D. and director of marketing at Campaign Creators:
5. Build Company Influencers Not Just Your Company Profile
When LinkedIn company pages show up in search, Google previews up to 156 characters from your company description. While having a fully-optimized company profile page is important, you have to go beyond just posting as your organization to be successful.
People want to follow and connect with other people - not just brands.
"People on LinkedIn, for the most part, follow people, not companies. So leverage your internal influencers." - Tammy Duggan-Herd, director of marketing at Campaign Creators.
In addition to uploading great native video to LinkedIn, Tammy Duggan-Herd has a detailed roadmap for how to leverage your internal influencers to expand your reach.
“My tip for 2019, don’t depend on your company profile for posting content on LinkedIn. People on LinkedIn, for the most part, follow people, not companies. So leverage your internal influencers (employees who have larger networks) to post your content. If you don’t already have internal influencers, choose someone to become your face on LinkedIn and work to build them up.
If you want to reach even more people, then you also need people to engage with (comment, like share, watch) these posts, ideally within the first 48 hours. Again, you can leverage your internal team for this, but keep your requests reasonable. While your social media presence may be a priority for you, chances are that it is not for your coworkers.
We choose one post per week that we want to amplify and ask that the whole company engage with it. This takes them less than 5 minutes and we see close to 100% follow through. These posts achieve 4x’s the reach of our other posts.” - Tammy Duggan-Herd, Ph.D
Tammy Duggan-Herd uploads native content to her own page, not just her company page.
6. Stay Up to Date with New LinkedIn Changes
With all the changes that have already come to LinkedIn in the past year, there is a lot to keep up with. I make sure to dive into each LinkedIn update and learn about it as much as I can.
I also follow people like those mentioned in this article to see what they’re doing on LinkedIn and learn from them.
One person I love to keep an eye on and from whom I draw inspiration is Christopher Penn, co-founder and chief innovator at Trust Insights.
I asked him what he was focusing on when it comes to LinkedIn in 2019 and he shared with me an important update LinkedIn is making to its developer program. All developers need to migrate to Version 2.0 of LinkedIn’s API and OAuth 2.0 before March 1, 2019.
Apps that have features like signing in with LinkedIn and sharing on LinkedIn will need to make this update. Platforms that allow users to manage LinkedIn company pages should pay close attention because access will be restricted to those participating in the LinkedIn Marketing Developer Program.
While this isn’t something most marketers need to tackle themselves if you are using a third-party app to publish to LinkedIn, advertise on LinkedIn, or manage your company page, you’ll want to make sure the platform you’re using makes the necessary changes to be added to the Marketing Developer Program.
Sound a little overwhelming? I thought so too so I asked Christoper what steps marketers should take.
“Steps for marketers to take: get better at tagging and attribution, and focus on the data you do get  - traffic from LinkedIn to your owned media properties, measured with your web analytics software.” - Christopher Penn, co-founder and chief innovator at Trust Insights.
So, make sure you’re measuring traffic from LinkedIn to your own site and use tracking URLs when necessary. If you’re using a third-party tool to publish to LinkedIn, it may be worth reaching out to confirm they are planning to maintain their tool’s functionality. Otherwise, it might be time to search for a new social publishing tool.
