Gene Simmons Band ofrecerá en agosto dos conciertos en nuestro país. El primero será el 13 de agosto en Sant Feliu de Guíxols (Girona), en el marco del 62 Festival Porta Ferrada y las entradas ya están a la venta en la web del festival. Esta fecha se suma a la recientemente anunciada del 14 de agosto en Madrid (La Rivera). Para este concierto madrileño, las entradas están ya a la venta desde el viernes pasado en la web de get.rock.es  Hablamos de una leyenda del rock internacional y cofundador de KISS, el grupo estadounidense con más discos de oro de todos los tiempos (RIAA, Recording Industry Association of America). Con su estilo inconfundible y su presencia imponente en el escenario, Simmons promete un espectáculo único en Porta Ferrada junto a los legendarios Obús y Motörhits. Al día siguiente, Obús volverán a acompañarle en la cita madrileña. En su faceta emprendedora, Simmons ha logrado un éxito que va mucho más allá de su carrera musical, extendiéndose a la televisión, el cine, publicaciones, comercialización, restaurantes y mucho más. Sobre su carrera musical temprana Simmons se inspiró para convertirse en una estrella de rock cuando vio una actuación televisiva de los Beatles. Formó su primera banda, The Missing Links, con compañeros de clase mientras asistía a la escuela secundaria Joseph Pulitzer. Después de la secundaria y durante la secundaria, Simmons formó varias bandas, entre ellas The Long Island Sounds y Bullfrog Bheer. Conoció al cofundador de KISS, Paul Stanley, en 1970 y juntos formaron su primer intento de banda, Wicked Lester. Sobre su legendaria banda KISS

En el invierno de 1972, con el deseo de crear la banda de rock “definitiva”  y no sólo “otra” banda de rock, Simmons y Stanley formaron KISS con los miembros originales de la banda, Peter Criss y Paul "Ace" Frehley. Inspirado por su amor por los cómics y las películas de terror, Simmons concibió el concepto de su pintura facial. Se le sumaron sus trajes elaborados y su frenética actuación escénica, así como los ostentosos efectos en sus conciertos. Todo ello, catapultó a KISS al estrellato internacional y les dotó de una posición codiciada como una de las bandas de rock and roll más reconocidas en el mundo.

Desde sus inicios, KISS ha conseguido millones de fans en todo el mundo, también conocidos como el Ejército KISS. Con más de 100 millones de CD's y DVD's  vendidos en todo el mundo, KISS continúa rompiendo récords de taquilla a los niveles de Elvis y The Beatles.

KISS forma parte del Rock & Roll Hall of Fame desde 2014 y en 1999 recibió una estrella en el Paseo de la Fama de Hollywood.
