Reading the novelization of A New Hope already changed how I saw Luke as a character but Splinter of the Mind’s Eye is going one step further and making me question the very fundamentals thought to be obvious about Luke.
Like, Luke is, for lack of a better term, a nerd. He studied languages and cultures -
“”Yes,” Luke admitted modestly. “I used to study a lot about certain worlds, back on my uncle’s farm on Tatooine. It was my only escape, and educational as well. This,” and he indicated the creature resting a massive long arm on his head and shaking him in a friendly fashion, “is a Yuzzem.””
-he wants to study more languages and cultures-
“Empty doorways beckoned to him and he was tempted, very tempted, to enter one of the ruined structures to find out if its interior was as well preserved as the outside.
This was not, he reminded himself firmly, the time for playful exploration. Their first concern was to find a way out, not to go poking around this ancient metropolis. However wonderful it was.”
Luke wants to know about people. He wants to know about cultures and creatures and he wants to be able to communicate and…
He really just. Is a great Jedi. He jumps between Leia and danger and he befriends the Yuzzem the prison guards thought would kill him and he wants to explore the creepy abandoned ruins of a civilization long past and he uses Anakin’s lightsaber underwater to cut the stem of a lilypad they use as a boat and he comments that the rock formations are almost too beautiful to cut down and he knows how to work Imperial explosives and
He’s a Jedi, man. He’s a Jedi. He’s been a Jedi this whole time, before any of us even knew what that actually meant.

okay but Muse's comic appearance being a mask/'costume' in Born Again is such a good design choice, and perfectly reflects not only the duality of real-world serial killers, but is also a really good play off of his comic-version's powers.
If Muse is meant to be an uncontrolled void that negates any sensory information about him, making him difficult to perceive, then the choice of him donning a mask is a great interpretation of that.
You're not meant to see Muse. You're not meant to hear him or feel him. He is not meant to exist in any physical way than his 'art'.
But serial killers still exist outside of their murders and their victims. They have regular lives where ordinary people don't know about the blood on their hands.
So, when Muse takes that mask off, he fades into the background. He becomes part of the everyday minutiae; unperceived to be important or relevant by anyone around him.
It's a very good design choice.

ncuti gatwa being a massive david tennant fan is good for me, personally, in a similar way to how david tennant being a massive doctor who fan is good for me, personally, because it means the nerds and the fangirls are winning in this series

I wonder if stockbroker-turned-serial-killer Jude Perry ever had a phase where she completely misunderstood the point of renowned satirical horror film American Psycho and thought Patrick Bateman was cool as shit

I seen a few fics where Airplane based Shen Qingqiu and I love the idea of him cribbing character's appearances from people he's met in real life. And it gave me a fun idea.
I can't remember if it's canon or fanon, but Mobei-Jun is basically always referred to as Airplane's perfect man. Not necessarily a peerless beauty like Luo Binghe, but instead Airplane's ideal type.
The scene I've imagined:
It's the Immortal Alliance Conference.
Shit is going down. Screams are coming from every direction.
Shen Yuan stands by Luo Binghe as The Endless Abyss opens and out walks...
"Da-ge? What the fuck is my brother doing here?"

i forgot how happy, and excited and 10 years old Nico was
he was just a boy, a child, and he lost everything
he felt so alone and abandoned he turnet to monsters for guidance, no wonder he was so easily manipulated
everywhere he went he was treated as an outcast, even percy and annabeth acted shifty around him
tbh noone besides hazel treates him like a normal person until jason
oh and if that wasnt enough on this c h i l d s plate, he was struggiling hlwith his sexuality after he was ripped from time for decades, and was raised in 1930' Italy
edit: i forgot abiut that funny moment where all of the 7 was discussing whether it was worth saving him from certain death
great work you guys i love the effort
10/10

@whcwashe mentioned a couple days ago how overlooked john's artistic ability is, including the way he's able to paint sigils with such mathematical perfection (i.e. in the nbc pilot), and i just think with how bookish he is + how adept in mathematics they show him being as a kid in dead boy's heart, it would make perfect sense for him to have researched and borrowed a lot of geometric artistic techniques from leonardo da vinci to use in the more physical aspects of magic and ritual.

ok so i think eddie listens to dad rock. but like. lame dad rock. he does not know the name of a single band but he does have a favourite radio station.
buck does not listen to tswift. sorry everyone but i just cannot see it. however. he will cry to olivia rodrigo in the car BUT i think that he doesn't seek that sort of music out. HOWEVER. he listens to kesha. he has also cried to james blunt a lot in his life. like think of how jblunt has a summer hit on the radio every single year. try tell me he hasn't cried to "so long jimmy". also he would listen to AWFUL spotify curated playlists for working out like "PUMP IT UP THURSDAY" or "FEEL GOOD WORKOUT MIX"
