aoughhhh argenti quest...how to be the most capable but cringefail at the same time? Hes the master at them simultaneously.

the way he rlly wanted to see wubbaboo 🥺

and i find his relationship with velite very...interesting. during the whole quest it felt like smth happened between them (?) Im not sure how to describe it. The thing abt hsr is time is only convenient to the story. Weeks will pass and the reader wont be informed. Exactly how many days were we in the sting or wtv it was? Definitely more than one day. I might have thought otherwise if velite was not part of the quest, but his behavior says more time has passed. He starts with annoyance than near the end feels affection towards Argenti. He talks as if they have gotten a lot closer over the course of the quest, which further soldified my thoughts. How much time passed from the events of the quest and Argenti's mssgs? Obviously quite a bit since Velite changed careers during this time and how Argenti helped.

Overall the quest was pretty cool, but it would've been so much better if they just added a scene like "___ days later..." or smth like that. Or "the next day". The timing kinda threw me off since it didnt take very long but felt as it should have.

But what himeko said at the end kinda made me sad for argenti. He's essentially looking for something that can't be found. Or maybe idrila can idk how aeons work.

there is some symbolism iv never considered in that one episod of pt5 where zenigata rescues fujiko before she kills lupin

#there are many timelines and variations in lupin as a serie so that every ship could work #in my own prefered timeline lupin finally gets the hint that fujiko plays him like a fiddle #to me she does like him but he is an instrument to her #she is cold hearted and calculating and always thinking about relationships in terms of profit #i got some ideas abt her background that justify this. essentially she kills the detective that is after her and with that kills #the soft part of her that she couldnt control before #eventually and despite his affection lupin gives up the objectifications and the desires he projects onto fujiko #whom uses his delusions like a master tbh #thus allowing himself to consider zenigata. he plays with zenigata the way fujiko plays with him #hes just not as calculating. he feels pity and remorse where fujiko doesnt #he finds the thrills and the doubts and the lack of trust and the risk of betrayal in zenigata. the things that he loves the most #he isnt about stability. he thrives in the unknown. he loves that zenigata could backstab him and does so sometimes #and in that lack of stabilty some form of stability builds up. there is familiarity #and most importantly there are rare times when they can put the game aside and just chill #just enough to gather the energy to go back to trying to kill each other #plus zenigata pampers him during those breaks and he loves that #he acts with carelessness but he does care. in that regard he looses to fujiko #at least thats how she sees it. he doesnt see caring as a flaw #and zenigata is so sweet. he really is. and lupin loves to stirr up the crazy in him #fucking loonies the both of them #so in essence zenigata doesnt really 'save' him from fujiko but he becomes lupins new favourite toy to throw around #fujiko is only upset that because of that ugly looser of a detective her grip on lupin is loosening #she does find ways to use that newly developed affection luzeni has to her advantage thou #lupin is still her instrument she just drags zenigata along now #fujiko is such a good and interesting character and deserves so much better honestly #despite my love for TWCFM i wish there was another serie centralized around her where her ruthlessness is examined #and her cunning is studied. and the proper law enforcement she should face the same way lupin does #shes like a million times smarter and more ressourceful than him. steals much more. embezzles. manipulate #lupin is just a small time pickpocket next to her. she isnt about stealing a painting shes about emptying the pockets of the richest men in #the world. her goals are much more ambitious

worst most evil thing in the world is when a morally gray character has a redemption arc foreshadowed for years and then they just pussy out of writing it and make up a New Guy. yeah no we're not going to talk about that tragic backstory we gave them or have them confront the repercussions of their actions or anything. now they're a New Guy who has zero unpleasant personality traits dont even worry about it.

#to be fair the only two examples i have of this are from media with objectively dogshit writing idk if its a trope per se #(saeran mystic messenger and scaramouche from genshin impact)#i. do not rlly care abt the latter lol character development in genshin is a joke n the writing past liyue has never been very good imo #the former does drive me crazy insane i want the writers heads on a pike displayed in my home. evil evil evil. you guys ALREADY WROTE #an entire arc getting into his backstory and establishing that hes mega traumatized and like suicidally depressed but also a dangerous #and potentially violent person who has killed and hurt people and needs like. a support network and mental healthcare #and then when it comes time to write the actual arc where we get to smooch him you went Lol sike. Forget abt that guy we have a new guy now #This guy is actually suuuuuuper nice and not even a little angry and scary and constantly having breakdowns #and he will recover from a lifetime of extreme abuse in like a month if youre nice to him #LIKE. #not gonna do a whole lot of tagging im just musing. if you wanna rb or reply with ideas thats great #im not the person to figure this out bc i dont actually care much abt tetra #not like oh i hate her but like. i only played ph and what i see of her beyond that has not endeared me to her #shes fine i just dont get it. ig cuz i didnt play ww but eh #cuz like. ok. pretty much the majority of phs plot relies on tetra having been turned to stone and fixing that #and me being the autistic little freak i am the psrt that also makes it hard for me to wonder what could happen if #tetra werent stone and that making the game better is like. ok what about linebeck and his arc #listen his arc is so fucking good and hes great and i dont think his arc would have been so good if link wasnt the character he was put wit #cuz link is a great foil and despite having minimal characterization has just the right personality to nudge linebeck along #cuz hes def part of what inspires some of that change in linebeck so idk what might have happened #if tetra was an active player interacting with him in ph too. cuz like idk most of the time when i see people #do stuff where they interact its usually tetra one upping linebeck or whatever and thars like. ok thats whar ciela does #maybe im reading into it too much and focusing on linebeck. idk how you couldve done and changed #the plot of ph to include tetra without just straight up rewriting the whole thing or putting link away #bc look me in the eyes. i do not think linebeck would have developed the way he did without having met link specifically #salty talks #idk i feel like linebecks arc is the best bit of story in ph so i want that to remain more or less intact bc thats where a lot of #the emotional stuff comes in at the end. his dialogue in the ghost ship battle and the final boss. its important #i dont think about tetra much cant you tell. so id leave this to someone who actually cares abt her as a character

sleepy thoughts rn but people tend to overlook iruka so much because he’s incredibly ordinary and in a world filled with characters who have enhanced ability, iruka is clearly mediocre and average at best and yet people better not be forgetting that my man CONSISTENTLY was voted top 10 each time they had a pole bc iruka is THE HEART of the story. specially because he is naruto’s HEART. every condition that the shinobi world rejected, he embodied so openly and thoroughly: he is compassionate, he is caring, he’s not without flaws as we see him angry and easily snapping at people even @ jōnins above his level, and yet there is care and an inherent kindness driving the act. he was never malicious, and while many in their world would consider it a huge flaw: iruka wore his heart on his sleeve, consistently. proudly.

#he said: i will challenge the toxic masculinity sooo hard #like sorry im just up thinking abt iruka being the only one advocating for the kids against the chūnin exam #which is clearly looked down upon in their worldview but……. HE WAS RIGHT!#he was riiiiiighhhhhht #iruka was sooooo YEARS AND GENERATIONS AHEAD in child development and care for their world #he is at front and centre ALWAYS advocating for children safety like i get SHIVERS #and u may think hes just a simple ‘goody two shoes’ but i digress!#iruka was never completely *vital* (loosely used here) in many of the important plots #but he was still consistently summoned and/or we see the studio or manga utilising him #in association with the hokage. HOKAGE. and yes thats partly bc of naruto #which rlly brings home the point that hes the HEART (apart of many) of the kid #like i could go on and on about the flaws and amazingness of iruka my sensei 🫶 but i shall stop #i just love him a lot. im sooo happy he existed #and his main characteristic of being consistently caring having resonated with many is just 💛#so revealing to us @ our nature like we know dont we that deep down all we needed was someone to care abt us #the way iruka does aaaaaahhhh #gen: out of character.

being the only fan of something is so great because i am the sole ruler of this kingdom. no one is around to tell me my headcanons suck or that all the characters are ooc

however it also sucks because i am the only fan. no one is around to support my headcanons or tell me they love my portrayal of the characters

#DCB Comments #shinon is one of those characters where the fandom focuses on one single negative trait #and they blow it up completely and pretend it's the only trait he ever has had and ever will have #meanwhile there's a gold mine of information you can figure out just by reading his lines and thinking about why he acts like that #like the whole want for money to live well when they're clearly not super well off mercenaries #or when he takes weapons from dead enemies and gets scolded for it but like can they even afford new weapons regularly?#the way he acts implies he grew up poor and has always been poor and STILL IS but he's there bc he cares about greil #and eventually came to care about everyone else and cares a lot about kids which they had rolf who rly respected shinon #he does what he can to help them raise money when they need it but fact is they always need it #in his quote versus oscar in chapter 18 oscar asks him if promotion is so important and he says it's everything #he clearly has no ill will toward oscar but for shinon getting promoted and getting money in that promotion will help him live well #he's tired of being fucking poor. he doesn't see an issue with wanting to live like you know a normal person should #but ofc everyone sees that he argued with janaff in two supports (which btw janaff egged on HARD and talked shit abt greil #and he also used racist rhetoric back at shinon so like... that whole argument was a two way street #but the fandom ignores that and just calls shinon racist even tho in their A support shinon specifically catches himself #from using a racist term and changes the term he uses so he's not being rude bc he learned he was wrong abt laguz through janaff #and janaff learned he was wrong about beorc through shinon. it was a very development heavy support chain for both of them #the fandom hates on shinon for ''being racist'' even tho he's one of the few non-main characters to actually get full development #and has a complete story from beginning to end between both games and comes out better for it)#i mean that's only a couple examples of things that aren't even hard to read into but ppl like to reduce him to one trait #and one trait that actually gets better and develops through both games. oh no a flawed character who has to have a development journey AAAA #guess what he's perfect specifically bc he's not a boring already perfect and flawless character #he has to get angry and get annoyed and learn from others despite being a grown adult. he has to have negative interactions to grow #he doesn't get to cling to the ADORED main character and get a gay paired ending and be loved for it #which no offense to soren that's not his fault that's the fandom's fault for treating them both the way they do for stupid reasons #i.e. would soren rly be so loved by the fandom if he wasn't tunnel visioned at ike #yes i will take forever to write this out slowly with my injured arm JUST TO GET THIS POINT ACROSS!#HE IS A FANTASTIC CHARACTER EVEN WITHIN THE TELLIUS CAST AND I WILL FIGHT FOR HIM11!!111!!!1!#also i wrote this earlier between those asks no im not that speedy lel. much less with a bandaged arm l e l

spent all of work watching season 2 of mp100 and livetexting it to hartley and yeahhhh. season 2 is still my favorite season out of all three despite the back-to-back agony of the mogami and separation arcs

#ignorance cloud on #i just love seeing mob develop his own identity and like. genuinely make change! and everyone around him is doing it too #and w the world domination arc its just so fucking cool to see everyone band together and u can literally see With Your Eyes how mob #has impacted all of these people's lives by how they fight and strategize and defend mob #ALSO REIGEN!!!!!!! MY GOD HIS CHARACTER ARC IS SO GOOD IN SEASON 2 #end of separation arc literally makes me cry every time #ive watched it twice now and even tho i KNOW whats happening i still cant help but cry #as reigen says 'youve really grown up' FOLLOWED SHORTLY AFTER W MOB CALLING REIGEN A GOOD PERSON #ITS LIKE. UGH. UGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#i texted this to hartley in my teary haze but i love that part especially #because for a while i think reigen believed the only way he could securely become Somebody was through fame or infamy #which is why he didnt mind being a shady guy if it meant climbing the socio-economic ladder faster #but even he was getting bored w his own tricks until MOB SHOWED UP #and from that moment forward reigen BECAME somebody. he was somebody to MOB #AND HE WAS MAKING A DIFFERENCE TO MOB #and during the press conference reigen finally realizes like. hes been doing all of this for mob. bc he cares abt mob #and he values mob's opinion above all else bc even under all his tricks he just wanted mob to think he was cool and important #bc he had never felt that before. and then when mob tells reigen hes a good person despite the lies and bullshit reigen REALIZES #THAT HES ALWAYS BEEN SOMEBODY. HE NEVER NEEDED FAME OR MONEY OR INFAMY OR ANYTHING #BC AS MUCH AS HE'S BEEN AFFECTED BY MOB. MOB HAS BEEN AFFECTED BY HIM #WHICH MEANS HE HAS IMPORTANCE AND HE'S MADE GREAT CHANGE AND IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE GLOBAL #IT CAN JUST BE THE CHANGE HE MAKES IN HIMSELF. AND TO SOMEONE ELSE.#AND THATS TRULY THE MOMENT I THINK LIKE.
