can i just say that neuvillette being terrible at tcg is so hilariously lore accurate.

while i've always seen him as being incredibly smart in a very bookish way, he takes everything at face value. being able to conceptualize strategies that require an understanding of how to predict the way people think is so beyond him.

Genuine question as I am curious — I know it’s pretty obvious with his expressions/ body language that Daniel seemed shy/insecure(?) about having his braces, but has he ever outright said anything about feeling that way with them? Just out of curiosity as I am new around here!

#well he doesn’t exactly say he was self-conscious of his braces but he was definitely very self-conscious about how he looked #it’s always very interesting to me the way Daniel talks about his younger self #it’s so different from how other f1 drivers talk about their early days #he’s so self-critical of younger him that I wish he was a bit more forgiving of younger him #the way he’s admitted he was never a standout talent during his karting days #that he was so hesitant to get involved in battles that his dad got mad at him #the way on the gypsy tales podcast he talks about Motocross riders being fearless and how he doesn’t have that until jase interrupts him -#to say how how mad he is because just a few days ago he was throwing a car around on a street circuit at some 300kph #the way in this video with will he describes himself walking into the paddock like a ‘headless chick’#the way he has said so many times he was scared to move away from home. how uncertain he was he would ever succeed #and then that one video towards the end of 2022 when he says ‘I was just Daniel then’ in reference to his younger self #like he has such a distinct way of looking at his younger self. like he views that part of him almost as a separate entity from the him now #and I guess that’s because it took a lot of work and years to build that confidence of becoming Daniel ricciardo #a confidence he got as he managed to survive the shark tank of the red bull junior academy #a confidence he got from beating his 4x wdc teammate. from winning the most insane races #and that confidence then getting completely decimated in the space of a few months in 2022 #and even now the more he says he is confident you can still see that tiny hesitancy #how every time he gets a good result you see how he yearns to lean back into his confident Daniel schtick #and he may just completely embrace it soon anyway <3 #daniel ricciardo #anon ask

My Metal Gear Solid autism partially reactivated in the past week and I cannot fucking believe that Ocelot was like a mid-tier character for me when I was super invested in the series in the 2010s. This guy is the fucking best .

#I DESPERATELY want to play MGS3 which I do have on xbox360 but my controller charger stopped working a while ago #So rewatched the 'movie' edit by kefkaproductions on youtube and am in the progress of doing it for the whole series #It's still a close call as to whether MGS3 or 2 is my favorite. I think the Experience of actually playing MGS2 is the most standout unique #but 3 is the best all-around. And MGSV is the most fun in terms of gameplay #I never played MGS1 properly because I emulated it on I Think a fucking mac and like. WAS able to get through the game but #definitely not the best way to go about it. The Psycho Mantis fight nearly ended it because I couldn't figure out how to replicate #the controller switching shit and the workaround if you die too much didn't work because the emulator didn't use the ingame save #system. Finally managed to 'switch' controllers after which point the controls were completely fucked and responded as if I was #pressing 'down' constantly unless it was receiving another input. This made it impossible to aim a gun and I had to just beat him to #death which took forever. Which I think is beautiful in some ways.#Also the Metal Gear Rex fight made me want to be dead but I think that was a skill issue thing

I know i have it better than most so i really shouldnt complain but living through this current political climate (of the last 8 years even) is just so.. exhausting. Our rights dangling on a knifes edge, my existence debated as some hypothetical scapegoat by politicians, twitter idiots, and childrens authors alike.. several genocides happening that no one in power seems to care about. My constant news feed is just. Horrible warcrime, stupid take on the warcrime, transphobia, someone dunking on the transphobia but i still have to see the transphobia for their joke to land, warcrime warcrime... Its just so exhausting.

#final superboss of tales of berseria #when you beat the postgame dungeon it powers up the final boss and doubles his level and gives him stats to match #and also makes him resistant to all elements and thus immune to every status ailment and stat-lowering effect #my first attempt was a complete and thorough failure #but on my second i unequipped all status ailment artes from me and my party #and also told eleanor to stop killing herself #i was really scared of his 3000 focus and immunity to ailments making it really hard to get souls #but it turns out once you ignore ailments and focus entirely on stun 3000 focus isn't too hard to break through #he also blocks SO MUCH #he recovers from stagger really fast so he blocks ALL THE TIME so comboing him is super frustrating #you can charge up a guard break but even after breaking his guard he'll just immediately block the next attack #solution: use big flashy multi-hit attacks that keep going for like 3 full seconds #the break charge lasts for the entire attack so even when he recovers from stagger and blocks MID ATTACK you just break his guard again lol #and all the while your party members are taking advantage and piling on damage #also rokurou's really good against him #his break soul gives him a free guard break charge for his next attack which really keeps up the pressure #and his weakness of his break soul being a counterattack isn't a weakness because artorius has a bunch of big telegraphed attacks #also he's immune to stagger while attacking. so add that to his growing list of bullshit #but rokurou don't care! he just counters and teleports behind him and hits him with a big long unblockable attack!#and ALSO artorius has 1 weakness: he's human. and rokurou's 3rd break soul is effective against humans #and THAT triggers a weak-point combo which ignores all his resistances!#so combo that break soul into a mystic arte chain and rip him to shreds!#eizen has a mystic arte that hits human so he can do basically the same thing #i (and eleanor) still died quite a few times but managed to cast enough revives to keep it going #somewhere around 25-ish minutes later he was DEAD! HAHA!#finally calling this playthrough complete. got all the important items and mastered all the equipment skills. and killed god. of course #ka asks

rewatched the second ep of the pjo show and like,,,, clarisse isn’t angry enough. or more like she’s too passive. her guttural scream at percy breaking the spear her father, whose recognition she’s desperate to gain, gave her made me think she was gonna lose her shit. like yeah there was always a possibility that her spear could be damaged or broken, but actually seeing it happen would’ve understandably left her enraged and likely blinded by grief. i honestly thought she’d just run at percy and use her fists, and have to be physically stopped/held back. but she just grabs percy, hears that there’s people coming, and leaves. i doubt she’d care abt others seeing her beat up the new kid since ares kids have a reputation for being angry/fighting/etc + her whole angry thing isn’t just bravado, she’s actually confrontational and can fight + she’s clearly upset and likely emotional abt the spear. really wish there’d been an actual clear reason for her to hold herself back, not just drop it out of nowhere
