Also increasingly aware that a LOT of people "manage" getting through the 40+ hour work week by sleeping less than is healthy and relying on stimulants like coffee and energy drinks to keep them going.

For people who are unwilling or unable to do this...work really does just dominate your life. Like we really should not have to rely on unhealthy practices just to have a social life or keep on top of housework or whatever.

I know I post about this a lot but I'm so TIRED all the time and it's just so depressing that this is how we're expected to spend the one life we have.

#i have to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night to even barely function #with sleep #getting ready for work #commute #cooking #and errands #I typically have maybe 2-3 hours to actually do what i want in a day #and I'm usually too tired to actually do the things i want to do #and that's with a very short commute #if i actually had a long commute I'd basically do nothing but work #i see my friends like once every few weeks or months #because we're all so fucking busy with work and have such little time for socialising #and none of us even have kids or anything!!

My comic is so pretty...

The hiatus is letting me take a little extra time on these episodes, and I'm definitely putting it to good use!!!

#almost done with my 8th episode... which will give me. two weeks. of buffer...#id really like at LEAST a month... but to be more comfortable id like two #which means 2-6 more episodes before I come back!#I've got about 7 weeks so its possible. but i do still have to finish book 4 #so much to do ..........#I decided for my next comic im doing 3 updates a month.#having 10 days instead of 7 to make an episode is such a huge huge huge difference...#difference in quality and in my health!#anyways the comic is really pretty im really happy with the work im doing rn #the environments especially. im getting to spend a nice amount of time on them and theyre turning out so nicely #its nice to be able to write with a lot of different environments and not have to redo panels when I get to them cause of time #cause every time theres a wild angle? you need a new background...#so sometimes. often actually. there just isnt the time to make the backgrounds for those and i have to make them more flat...#which is fine. it doesnt really affect anything narratively. but. idk. it's kinda sad right?#anyways yeah! 10 days will be much better.#36 episodes a year is about what ive been uploading with my hiatuses on the weekly schedule anyways!#so might as well cut out that super stressful middleman and just commit to that #52 a year is just such a huge difference and i have to accept its not possible to me #i will hurt myself trying to do that. and i want to make comics my whole life!#so i cant push myself that hard now and sacrifice my future. we're gonna go slower after this...#anyways yeah cant wait to come back but also time. if I could get an extra week like a secret one just for me #where theres no chores no nothin just me and my work #thatd be great! so go ahead and do what you gotta do to give me a little pocket dimension #me: ugh i want to return right now...#the more logical me: NO we need the time to finish everything!!!!!! Some artwork inspired by some story stuff for my Glitchy Simon AU. Unfortunately the file got accidentally deleted before I finished it,,,, thankfully, I took a screenshot, but it still pains me bc I WASN'T DONE...

A lil story blurb + related doodles under the cut:

For several days, Simon had been wandering in this universe that looked uncomfortably close to the world he left behind over a thousand years ago (give or take a handful of historical details here or there). Betty living there crossed his mind, and while he knew pursuing her was a horrid idea, he... he couldn't help himself. He wanted to see her so bad, even if he knew it wasn't actually her, y'kno? Just... to see her as a normal, happy human again could satisfy himself enough to live his days in peace. At some point he was able to locate her and caught a glimpse of her from a distance. And, with this simple gesture, he found himself... content...

However... fate had a different plan as she caught sight of him too, setting the stage for things soon to come...

That first meeting went insignificantly enough for Simon to not think much of it. She didn't recognize him? Had the Simon of this world not met her yet? Well, even better! He could simply give himself a fake name and walk away from her life with hope to leave it at that. But, to his dismay, they kept running into each other by accident: on the street... in the shops... at the fated library. He was no longer a blip to be forgotten in her memory, but an acquaintance... one that was making an impact on her. Not Good...

It was only a matter of time before she found out.. she knew she wasn't going crazy when she caught sight of the faint blue glow and strange ear-piercing static she heard standing next to him. No, something was off with this one. Her roommate scoffed at the suggestion, but she had to know. Who was this man, really? And why did standing next to him fill her with a dread she couldn't explain?

Soon... he was cornered. Left with no other choice but the truth, he told her about who he really was and why he was here. She couldn't help but feel... sad. So sad for him. She didn't know why, but her heart yearned to do something about it. But that was the LEAST thing Simon wanted…
