Sorry, I don't have any guides for these tools and didn't find any good one on the internet either. I made one myself for you this morning, super long and complete with screenshots and all, and then tumblr just... disappeared it... And I don't think I have the will to do it all over again with all the screenshots and explanations. I'll make a shorter one.
I'm assuming that you use Windows.
WizTree
The link to the installer is here. The wizard is straightforward.
You should run the disk cleanup utility as administrator first, so that you can rid of any unnecessary file (but please check that you don't have any important file in the recycle bin before having it emptied). You can just type up "disk cleanup" in the Windows search bar for it, then right-click instead of left-click, and select "run as administrator". You should definitely do this again every now and then btw.
When you open WizTree, what you want to look for is either big squares (single files that take up a lot of space, like movies or zip files) or many smaller squares all clumped together. The latter might be cache (Spotify, Telegram, all internet browsers, generate a lot of it. WizTree gives you the cue to open these programs and clean the cache from their respective settings), or some other thing (AMD Radeon for some reason likes to keep all past versions of its installer, even though only the most recent is useful). You might also notice some folders that are considerably bigger, for example all Adobe products are naturally chunky and so you might want to consider alternatives, like Photopea in lieu of Photoshop. Here I highlighted some examples on my laptop, files and folders which I would definitely check out first thing. And after deleting them, I would hit the "Scan" button again to refresh the graph.
Tumblr media
It takes some effort to get used to the game the first time, but I think the immediate visual feedback of the colored blocks, the highlighting of the folder as you hover on it, the size proportion... They make WizTree a great tool. I also wish I could give you more precise information on what to look for exactly, but it really varies greatly from PC to PC, so I can't know for certain what might take up space on your machine.
Beware! Some big squares are best left untouched because they're Windows files: namely $MFT, hiberfil.sys, pagefile.sys, anything in "System Volume Information" or in "Recovery", and of course anything in the "Windows" folder.
If pagefile.sys is very big (say, bigger than 5 GB) and you're running out of storage space, you can reduce its size to something like 2 or 3 GB, following this guide.
Everything
Link to the installer here. This wizard is also pretty straightforward, you don't need to touch any of the default settings, just hit "next".
It takes just a few seconds to index all the files the first time you open it after turning your PC on, and then it's good to go. Instant search, system-wide, in milliseconds.
You should extend the "file path" column a bit so that you can clearly see *where* each result is located, and see if that's the file you were looking for or not.
Apart from the basic search, there are some useful options in the "Search" tab in the top row. Namely: case sensitive/insensitive search, including file paths in the search (e.g. if you want to look up a file called "Pamphlet" in folders called "Campus" instead of in folders called "Work". Then you would activate that option and search "pamphlet campus"), and including full words (e.g. if you know the file has the word "Boy" and you're not interested in files with "tomboy", "boyish", "flamboyant"). They're the top options in here (sorry that it's all in Italian, I'm a pizza pasta mandolino citizen):
Tumblr media
In the lower part you can also see how you can filter the results based on whether it's an audio file, a zip file, an exe file, a folder etc. Neat, right?
any computer people wanna explain how the hell this works
Tumblr media Tumblr media
it wont let me do shit bc i apparently have 81 gigs of apps clogging my c drive, but my largest app is 0.4gb?????? its not system applications either because system is its own segment of storage. wadda hell are you talking about

It's Not Home, But It'll Do - Chapter 3
I meant to get around to posting this a few days ago but alas, other things got in the way.
You can read on ao3 or below, and for anyone who wants to catch up, here is Part 1, Part 2
Things were not going according to plan when it came to telling the 118 that Buck was transferring out.  As soon as he had said his goodbyes to Tommy after their coffee “not-a-date” date, he had contacted the Fire Chief and told him that yes, he would gratefully accept the transfer to the 217.
Talking to Tommy had been surprisingly quick and easy.  But when it came to his teammates?  That was taking a little longer.
At first, after his catch up with Tommy he had planned on telling Chim that night as he spent yet another night on his sister’s couch.  But they had started talking about the progress Buck had been making in finding a new place (of which there had been none), only for Buck to then to be dragged away by Jee wanting a bedtime story.  And then that one bedtime story somehow turned into two bedtime stories.  While Buck sometimes felt like he might be starting to wear out his welcome, he was certain that Jee didn’t feel the same – she was loving having her Uncle Buck at her beck and call, and to be fair, Buck was happy playing her willing servant.
When Buck had emerged from his niece’s bedroom after finally convincing her that yes, it was indeed time to go to sleep, he had spotted his sister and brother-in-law snuggled together on the couch, hands on Maddie’s ready to pop belly and ridiculous grins on their faces as Baby Boy Han was clearly kicking up a storm.  Unable (or to be more accurate, unwilling) to put a damper on this happy moment, Buck had merely joined them at Maddie’s insistence, placing his own hand on his sister’s bump to feel his nephew’s powerful kicks.
The next day at work hadn’t seemed like the right time to mention his transfer either.  Not only were they kept busy with a multitude of calls, the alarm ringing every time he gathered the courage to say something (at this point, Buck was becoming convinced that he was cursed), but then during one of their rare quiet moments, Eddie had strolled into the firehouse, having arrived back in LA the night before and announced that he had applied for his old job back at the 118 and, as long as the paperwork went smoothly, he would be back in no time.  Everyone was so excited for Eddie’s return that Buck had simply plastered on a smile and hung back as everyone surrounded his best friend with choruses of “congratulations” and “welcome home”.
“We’ll be back working together in no time,” Eddie had said with a grin when he finally broke away from the crowd and sauntered over to Buck, Buck unconsciously flinching when Eddie threw a light slap to Buck’s shoulder.  How was Buck meant to respond to that statement?  He didn’t have the heart to tell him that that wasn’t the case, that in fact by the time Eddie was back at the 118 Buck would have already shifted over to the 217.
So instead, he smiled, told Eddie, “Sounds great”, then made some excuse about making sure the hoses had been stowed correctly after their last call to get away.
Then, two nights later, sat around the Han’s dinner table, when the subject of work came up, Buck braced himself to finally tell them about his transfer when Chimney declared that he was thinking of taking the Captain’s test, and, if successful, applying to take over the role as Captain of the 118.  Well after that announcement, there was no way Buck was going to sour the mood, especially as Maddie declared that it was a time to celebrate.
“I have to first pass all of the tests to become Captain, Maddie, and even if I get the promotion, it’s not like I’m guaranteed to get the 118,” Chim had insisted as Maddie popped open a bottle of champagne (not the one that Tommy had left behind at Buck’s place the morning after their hookup that Buck had been storing in Maddie and Chim’s fridge – Maddie knew the significance of the bottle and therefore knew better than to touch it).  “I wouldn’t say it’s a time to celebrate just yet – and I thought we were saving that for after the baby was born?”
“Meh, we can always get another bottle,” Maddie brushed it off with a dismissive wave of her hand, pouring glasses for her husband and brother before pouring some apple juice for herself.  “And this is something to celebrate because there is absolutely no way you won’t ace the tests, and as for the 118, they would be crazy not to take you.”
“She’s right Chim,” Buck agreed, clinking his glass against theirs.  “You’d make a great Captain – you’re a shoo-in.”
Yeah, it was absolutely not the right time to announce that even if he made Captain, Chim wouldn’t be Buck’s Captain.
So, with all the disruptions, and Buck constantly spending his free time house hunting, before he knew it, more than a week had gone by, and Buck still hadn’t told anyone that he was transferring.  He knew he had to tell them soon – his next shift at the 118 would be his last, with the following shift to be his first at the 217.
Deciding that there was no time like the present, Buck figured he may as well start by doing what he had always intended and tell Chim first before moving onto the rest of the team.  Walking into the kitchen, he found his brother-in-law in the finishing stages of making some toast for his daughter who was sat at the dining table, swinging her legs back and forth while happily colouring as she waited for her breakfast.
“Hey Buck, hungry?” Chim asked, gesturing towards the spreads on the counter with the knife in his hand.
“No thanks, I’m good,” Buck waved him off.  “Can I talk to you about something?”
“Sure,” Chim said, placing the toast on a plate and setting it in front of his daughter, dropping a kiss on the top of her head.  “What’s up?  This about your house hunt?”
“Uh no,” Buck said, resting his palms against the countertop and leaning his weight against them.  “It’s uh, work related actually.”
“Okaaaaay,” Chim said, a frown starting to form.  “This isn’t about me going for Captain, is it?  Because I promise, if I get it, I’m not going to treat you any differently because we’re family or anything like that.  If that’s what you’re worried about.”
“No, no worries about that at all.  I know you’ll make a great Captain when you get it,” Buck said, smiling as he put the emphasis on the when.  Because for him, there was no doubt in his mind that it was a case of when, not if.  “It’s something else, actually.  See the thing is–”
“Uh, guys?”
The two men turned to Maddie standing in the doorway, one hand cradling her stomach.  “Would someone mind taking me to the hospital?” she asked, casting them both a significant look.
Chim and Buck stared blankly at Maddie briefly before realisation hit at the same time.
“Oh my God,” Buck explained.  “Baby time?”
“But he’s not due for another couple of weeks!” Chim exclaimed, his voice rising in pitch.
“He’s well within the safe window of delivery,” Maddie reassured her husband, placing a comforting hand on his arm.  “Babies are born early all the time.  But do you think maybe we could start heading to the hospital, just in case this little one decides to make a super early appearance?”
“Oh, right, yes!  I’ll go grab your bag!”
Chim raced from the room and Maddie turned to smile at Buck.  “Was he this bad the first time?”
Buck grinned.  “Not really, but we had just finished dealing with an emergency, so he didn’t really have time to over think.”
“Yeah well, oooohhhh.”
Maddie reached forward to grasp at the counter as she hunched over, groaning in pain.  Buck immediately stood by her side, rubbing a soothing hand over her lower back.
“Are you okay Mama?” came a small voice from the table.
The Buckley siblings turned to see a small face with wide, worried eyes watching them.
“I’m okay sweetie,” Maddie smiled.  “The baby is coming, that’s all, so your Daddy has to take me to the hospital so we can finally meet him.”
“The baby is coming?” Jee said excitedly, jumping out of her chair and racing over to them.  “Can I come meet him too?”
“Not just yet Jee-bug,” Buck told her, reaching down and scooping her up, popping her on his hip.  “It might take a while for the baby to arrive and the hospital is boooooring, so you and I are going to stay here for a while and have some fun.  When the baby finally gets here, I’m going to bring you to the hospital so you can be the first to meet him.  What do you say to that?”
Jee wrapped her tiny arms around her favourite uncle.  She scrunched her face up as she thought hard about Buck’s proposition.  “I can be the first?”
“Absolutely you can,” Maddie promised, and held up her pinky finger.  Buck grinned as his niece linked her own finger with Maddie’s just as he and Maddie used to do when they were kids.
“Alright, bag is in hand, let’s get going,” Chim announced.  He leaned forward to press a big kiss to Jee’s cheek.  “You be a good girl for your Uncle Buck, and we’ll see you soon sweetheart.”
The two hurried out the door, leaving Buck and his niece standing alone in the kitchen.
“So, what should we do to pass the time, Miss Jee?” Buck asked.
Jee smiled up at him through her lashes (something that Buck knew for a fact that she had picked up from him as he had employed that trick more than once against Tommy when Jee was around to witness).  “Can we make cookies?”
“Absolutely we can make cookies,” Buck replied.  “Why don’t you get your special apron then finish your breakfast, and I’ll pack away all this food your dad left out so that we have room to work.”
Buck placed Jee on the floor so she could race to the drawer that held her own apron that she used for “Baking with Buck” (as Chim had dubbed their bonding time) and he started putting away the spreads from breakfast that Chim had left behind in his rush to take Maddie to the hospital.  It was only as he was reaching for the flour for the cookies that he realised that once again, fate had intervened to prevent him from telling anyone about his transfer.
Yup, he was definitely cursed.

Court 3
To @amtrak12 , who obviously has the patience of a saint, I offer the next part of this @b-and-w-holiday-gift-exchange gift. As begun in part 1 and part 2, it’s a vaguely in-universe story in which Myka and Helena are in some fashion being pitted against each other in court.... but that scenario, and everything surrounding it, is of somewhat unclear definition. Why might that be? All will be revealed eventually, I promise, and there are a few hints here in this part. Overall, I hope there’s at least a little enjoyment in the excruciatingly slow ride.
Court 3
Now Artie is waving folders around: “Legal!” he says, flourishing one in his right hand, and then, as if to distinguish by name the one in his next-raised left, “briefs!”
With a little look-at-me shimmy, Pete says, “But what about legal boxers?” Like he’s the first person ever to make such a joke.
“Fisticuffs?” Helena asks, a little plaintive.
So, okay, maybe he’s the first ever to make such a joke in front of Helena. who deserves not to be left in the dark, even by a joke that only Pete thinks is funny. “He means—” Myka starts, but it occurs to her, just in time, before she fully embarks, that she does not want to talk about distinctions between types of underwear with Helena Wells. Or with H.G. Wells. Or with anybody, really, but in particular not with either of those eminences.
But she likes “fisticuffs.” As a word. So: “Never mind,” she says, following up with, “I like ‘fisticuffs.’” To the four surprise-widened pairs of eyes that slew her way—hallelujah, the distraction worked—she finishes, “As a word.”
Artie’s eyes narrow. “Here’s a word: unforgettable. Be that, both of you. On both sides. So nobody questions anybody’s legitimacy when it’s time to take possession.”
Take possession. Why does everything he says make Myka think inappropriate thoughts?
But also: being unforgettable certainly won’t be a problem for Helena.
“How could anyone forget Agent Bering?” Helena asks, in unknowing yet ringing counterpoint, with a tone that Myka desperately wants to be correct in hearing as unironic. (Which may or may not stretch fully to “sincere.”)
“You got that backwards,” Pete tells her. “It’s ‘how could Agent Bering forget anyone.’ Or anything. And the answer is, she couldn’t.”
“Couldn’t she,” Helena says, looking at Myka. Looking intently, like Myka’s leapt a quantum of consequence, and is that good or bad?
Myka doesn’t want to find out. Not now. “We don’t need to get into that,” she says.
Helena blinks at her. “What do we need to get into?”
It sounds suggestive only because, Myka assures herself, everything Helena says sounds suggestive.
No, wait, that’s terrible. Try again: only because Helena can make anything sound suggestive.
No, that’s bad too: it puts the blame on Helena, whose intent can’t be assumed.
So, back to the first: everything Helena says sounds suggestive... to Myka. That’s at least accurate. Accurate and damning.
And speaking of damning, she’s let Helena’s question sit unanswered too long... but, for good or ill, Artie steps into the breach.
“Working the case,” Artie says, stepping into the breach, and is he saving Myka or damning her further? “That’s what—that’s all—you need to get into.”
“All...” Helena echoes, drawing the word out, sinuous syrup in Myka’s ear. Damning, damning, damning.
“Also court,” Claudia says, the “t” an obstructive retort, as if to stop any such flow. “You need to get into that.” Another shot, for emphasis.
But Claudia’s plosives won’t be putting up barriers once Myka and Helena do.

Steve likes to wander the aisles of the Warehouse. If he’s being honest with himself (although sometimes he’s not honest with himself, if only because he can in fact lie to himself without pain; it gives him a little zing of illicit pleasure, like not quite triggering an allergy) he feels more at home here in this building that should be overwhelming than he does in the B&B. In this building, he’s anonymous; at the B&B, everyone wants to, or feels that they already, know him too well—too well too soon. He hadn’t signed up for that.
Not that he’d known in any way whatsoever what he was signing up for.
Not that he’d even affirmatively “signed up” for anything.
Should he have seen this life-wrench coming?
On his first day of fifth grade, the teacher, working her way through the alphabet of last names, had asked each student if they had thought about what they wanted to be when they grew up. After praising the ambition of Tony Gentry, who wanted to be the President of the United States and also a rock star, she’d moved on to Steve. “Steve Jinks? Ideas?”
“An advice columnist,” he’d answered promptly, with certainty.
His teacher had raised her eyebrows at that and pronounced it “very interesting,” but she didn’t press the point, instead moving on to the next name. “Jennifer Josten? Your thoughts?” Jennifer had declared an interest in lepidoptery, which then had to be defined for the class, thus fully washing away Steve’s answer... probably for the best, as he’d thought even in the moment.
When his mother asked how that first day went, he told her what he’d said. Unlike his teacher, she followed up: “Why an advice columnist?”
So he had to give reasons. His first one: he liked the words. Advice columnist. They were full and fun to say, and they made the job sound full too.
Then he worried that he was being presumptuous (a word he’d recently learned, though less recently than “lepidoptery”), making like he had some innate (ditto) ability to do such a full job. So he explained that it wasn’t that he thought he knew so much about people and their problems. But he liked the idea of having answers, ones that went beyond “lie” and “truth.”
His mother agreed that answers—nuanced ones—were good. And thus Steve also learned the word “nuanced.”
In retrospect, he suspects he’d been hoping that becoming an advice columnist meant being gifted with answers (other than “lie” and “truth”), wisdom from some advice-ether to which only such columnists had access.
His eventual Buddhism had, and has, served as the real version of that imagined advice-ether, offering him glimpses, even occasional grasps, of more-nuanced answers.
It’s possible, though, and maybe even likely, that answers of similarly greater nuance are to be glimpsed, and even occasionally grasped, here in this Warehouse. Steve’s found moments of unexpected peace in its immensity, and unexpected power in the peace.
But today, even more unexpected, he finds, or rather nears, un-peace, an aural variety, its location and source taking a moment to clarify: the container aisle, from which blares Pete’s voice, angry, demanding, and in response, a woman—but not Myka, not Leena, not Claudia. Not even Mrs. Frederic. An unknown woman in the Warehouse? Arguing with Pete?
Steve is not an advice columnist, which he’s had cause to semi-regret during his brief Warehouse tenure: all these misfit toys (a category from which he doesn’t exclude himself) need advice, and he’s totally unqualified to give it. So he does for a moment entertain the idea of turning away from Pete’s ire, avoiding whatever today’s kerfuffle is.
But he has a job, and while it’s not “advice columnist,” it often seems to lean toward something like “kerfuffle-handler.”
So he turns in the direction of the noise.
****
Layers, Myka thinks. Helpful in South Dakota. The winters, anyway.
Layers. This over that. This, then that. Again?
Pete sits her down and cues up Witness for the Prosecution.
You made me watch this already. Myka doesn’t say this aloud, but it’s... true? He did. Before. Before what? “Why are you doing this?” is what she does say.
“To getcha ready,” he enthuses. “For court. See, what’s a big deal here is Dietrich.”
“Well, sure,” Myka says, because when wouldn’t Dietrich be a big deal?
“Not because of that. I mean, sure, always because of that,” and he is looking at her like he might have just decoded some undercurrenty dit-dot-dash of what she never says aloud, “but. For right now: her testimony. Unreliable.”
“You mean like Rashomon.” Which he has also made her watch. Already. Before.
“Nope. That’s different versions. Everybody’s got different versions. This is about who to trust.”
He must mean Helena... he must be pushing her to not trust. Must mean, must be. Must must must.
But even as she resists that pressure to not, she can’t deny that Helena has an appeal that is by a certain measure Dietrich-esque, and thus what she can’t resist a quick riffle-shuffle, just for the thrill... Morocco (white tie and tailcoat...), Shanghai Express (chiaroscuro with Anna May Wong her mirror...), even Touch of Evil (into every life a little Well[e]s must fall...)...
“Are you showing movies to Helena too?” she asks, as much to talk herself down as to really find out. Helena, Pete, movies... would there really be time for that?
But how is there time for this?
“Why would I?” Pete asks.
“To get her ready? Too?”
“But I want you to win,” he says. “Whatever’s happening.”
Whatever’s happening. “Who’s unreliable?” Myka asks. She wants to know. Whatever’s happening.
She doesn’t really expect an answer, and Pete lives down to that: “Don’t ask me,” he says, busying himself with the DVD remote.
But whom should Myka ask?
Herself?
****
When Steve rounds the corner, both Pete and the woman—she’s beautiful, her face a pale marvel, but it’s her hair, a wash of darkest ink, that strikes him—look his way and immediately clam up.
The sudden silence spooks him. As does the fact that at their feet lies Myka, and she’s... taking a nap? She’s on her side, her head pillowed on her arms, like she’s illustrating “sleep” in the dictionary. It’s more than odd, but then again this is the Warehouse, where stranger naps have no doubt been been taken.
Steve certainly isn’t one to begrudge Myka, or anybody else, the rest they need, but...
...the silence continues, as if enforced.
Steve is patient, but uncanniness makes him antsy. So to the woman, who seems nonthreatening (she’s just standing there, arms crossed), Steve ventures, “Hi?”
“Hello,” she responds. Her voice, now not angry, is low. Rich.
“Right,” Pete says, a put-upon pout. “I always think everybody knows everything. Steve, H.G. H.G., Steve.”
“Delighted,” says the newly identified H.G. to Steve. “Who are you?”
“Same,” Steve responds. “And same?” There’s surely something he should be getting, but—
Pete sighs, still put-upon. “I always think.” To the woman, he says, “He’s the new guy they brought in to replace Myka, after you made her leave.” Then he turns to Steve. “H.G. Think about it.” Like Steve is a complete idiot.
And he is: immediately, realization. The embarrassment burns him, heating his gut, blooming on his face. “H.G. Wells,” he says, and tries to cover at least a bit of his flush by understating, “Claudia mentioned.”
Claudia has in fact woven tale after tale, all in the service of illustrating what she initially described as “H.G.’s good-guy-to-bad-guy-to-goodish-guy-to-who-knows-what status, with Myka all-in then crushed then mostly just sad and Pete really pissed off about all of it, but anyway we got you out of the deal, Jinksy, and maybe someday we’ll get H.G. back for real too, because honestly I miss her basically like I’d miss air.”
Steve adds to his understatement with, “She reveres you, by the way.”
“And I her,” says H.G., with a weirdly formal head-bow. “Not at all by the way.”
“Good choices all around, it seems like,” Steve says.
H.G. smiles, and he is rewarded.
“Meanwhile, Myka was unconscious!” Pete informs the world, full up again with all that anger Steve had wanted to turn away from.
“I don’t think that’s quite right,” H.G. says, quiet.
The way she talks... not trying to compete, but secure in her ability to. Steve feels himself proving his kinship with Claudia. More so than with Pete
“Who cares what you think?” Pete fumes, confirming Steve’s sense. “And you’ll say anything anyway.”
“She’s telling the truth though,” Steve says, because she is. “To me, Myka looks... asleep. Comfortable, even?”
H.G. nods. “That was my thought when—”
Pete breaks in, loudly, “Asleep?!? But I’m yelling!”
“We know,” Steve says, and he hears H.G. say the same, right in tune, and what is he to do with this instant accord? Is it disturbing? Or... flattering?
“She never sleeps through me yelling!” Pete yells on.
Myka, for her part, sleeps on.
Steve finds himself hoping that when the yelling stops—as eventually it must, even with Pete—H.G. will be able to express the as-yet-unarticulated when of her thought about Myka asleep.
He additionally hopes that builds to something like advice.
****
Who’s unreliable?
Myka, that’s who. Why else would Artie have sent Pete along with her and Helena on this retrieval, when he has no role to play in court?
Obviously she requires a chaperone.
Tamalpais was so different. Claudia is a lot of things, but “chaperone” isn’t among them, and anyway she was preoccupied with confronting her own insecurities, leaving Myka generally free to...
... well, to confront her own. While pretending not to, because of the incessant pressured wish to be present for every moment with Helena, whether collegial or clashy or both.
Paradoxically, looking is what Myka’s viscera remember of all that shared presence: for while their physical interactions made serious impressions, the gazes meant. They signified. They offered up the why of the physical.
And that why is obviously the reason for Pete’s presence. Myka supposes “backup” must have been, must be, the ostensible rationale for it, but that’s almost as troubling. Why wouldn’t she and Helena be each other’s backup? Why would they need more? It’s not like this is even a conventional, and thus possibly dangerous, retrieval.
She’s reminded of that as she stands before the bathroom mirror in a hotel room, dressing for court: buttoning up, smoothing down. This suit has always been what she would wear for such an occasion, this eyeliner and blush always what she would apply. As evidence. Of preparation.
Pete gapes at her when she emerges. “Are you wearing makeup?”
Why is he in her room? “I’m going to court,” Myka says. Did he forget?
“Who? The judge?”
Dangerous, dangerous... she knows who. So she says “What?” Playing as dumb as she can.
“And you’re supposedly the word nerd...” He shakes his head. Has he bought it? Surely even word nerds are allowed to plead (to feign) ignorance on occasion. “But seriously, do they judge on hotness now?”
Of course: at that moment, Helena sweeps in, as if doors and locks and privacy are nothing but easily disproved hypotheses. “I certainly hope so,” she says, and she too is buttoned up, smoothed down, yet perfectly so, the strictures fitting simple... also evidence, but of a dream Myka has been waiting till this very moment to dream. She looks Myka over... also not unrelated to several dreams Myka has been waiting, or in fact not waiting, to dream. “At the very least, I relish the competition.”
“I guess it’s time,” Myka says, hoping to send the idea of that sort of competition on its way. (Not that she knows where “on its way” would be. Probably some sort of boomerang trajectory, given everything.) “Time,” she repeats. “For court.”
“Court-ing!” Pete yelps, and Myka wants to sink into the hotel-room carpet, never mind what else those abused fibers have absorbed.
Helena takes it in her stride, not even raising an eyebrow. As she would. “Yes, it is,” she says, an affirmation of its being time, and/or actual courting being involved, and/or every possible jot of meaning in between.
Affirmation... why not affirm it all? All, all, legal boxers and all, because this is about (a bout?) competition, which Helena has said she relishes. Which Myka is ready—absolutely ready—to relish too.
Fisticuffs.

"In a twist of fate, I found you again..."
Some artwork inspired by some story stuff for my Glitchy Simon AU. Unfortunately the file got accidentally deleted before I finished it,,,, thankfully, I took a screenshot, but it still pains me bc I WASN'T DONE...
A lil story blurb + related doodles under the cut:
For several days, Simon had been wandering in this universe that looked uncomfortably close to the world he left behind over a thousand years ago (give or take a handful of historical details here or there). Betty living there crossed his mind, and while he knew pursuing her was a horrid idea, he... he couldn't help himself. He wanted to see her so bad, even if he knew it wasn't actually her, y'kno? Just... to see her as a normal, happy human again could satisfy himself enough to live his days in peace. At some point he was able to locate her and caught a glimpse of her from a distance. And, with this simple gesture, he found himself... content...
However... fate had a different plan as she caught sight of him too, setting the stage for things soon to come...
That first meeting went insignificantly enough for Simon to not think much of it. She didn't recognize him? Had the Simon of this world not met her yet? Well, even better! He could simply give himself a fake name and walk away from her life with hope to leave it at that. But, to his dismay, they kept running into each other by accident: on the street... in the shops... at the fated library. He was no longer a blip to be forgotten in her memory, but an acquaintance... one that was making an impact on her. Not Good...
It was only a matter of time before she found out.. she knew she wasn't going crazy when she caught sight of the faint blue glow and strange ear-piercing static she heard standing next to him. No, something was off with this one. Her roommate scoffed at the suggestion, but she had to know. Who was this man, really? And why did standing next to him fill her with a dread she couldn't explain?
Soon... he was cornered. Left with no other choice but the truth, he told her about who he really was and why he was here. She couldn't help but feel... sad. So sad for him. She didn't know why, but her heart yearned to do something about it. But that was the LEAST thing Simon wanted…

#i've had many people ask me in the DMs what could be done to help me out given the orange menace is coming back into power#the best things for me right now (I can't speak to others) is this: 1. Keep supporting my creative endeavors#no matter how little I might post or interact. Please hype me up. I need community. I need spirit to survive.#2. Help me find resources that will help myself and others. Food banks. Community meets. Passports. Finances. Mental health etc.#these are important and I don't want others feeling like sitting ducks. Even though I'm scared I want to be a solution to the problem.#I am going to be a helper in this mess cause that's who I am and I need ammo in this capacity#3. Donate so I can up my ration storage. I've been collecting food water and nonperishables and I'm trying to stock up on medication#and other basic necessities. I'm collecting as if I'm preparing to be homeless again and if I am over capacity I'm giving rations to others#I've had to make peace with the fact I can't run away. I can't move to another country as I'm broke and poor like the rest of my loved ones#4. If you have friends who are disabled or a minority or lgbtq etc. do what you can to protect them and show them that you love them#and build community#5. Share my work and that of others. Who knows if we're gonna have sites like AO3 in the future or even access to tumblr.#this is all I can think of at the moment and again I can't speak for others this is what comes to mind for myself#And I admit I'm coming from a place of the worst case scenarios#because in my mind if I imagine I'm dead or homeless etc. and work my way backward to the next worst thing before that it unravels my fear#and it gives me back my power in the situation by sitting with those fears and giving them time to speak#because in my mind if I'm already dead if I'm already homeless or at war etc. etc. then its already happened and what else is there to fear#if I've been through everything already in mind?#I'm hoping that the worst case scenarios don't transpire but I can't ignore the fact many of them could and probably will happen#in some capacity but I can control the actions I take through prep and facing these fears one by one#and most importantly sticking to routine by making sure im healthy to help people#anyway this is why ive been quiet for a while besides for spending time with friends and loved ones recently to get over what happened#im going to keep going to my classes keep helping people through my jobs try to be creative when I have spoons and little by little#make sure I have enough of what I need to get through the storm and outlive the bastards in power#I'm not sure what sort of pink variant to assign this to but its along the magenta spectrum#love you guys#we'll get through this

more roommate simon!
i love the idea that simon thinks he's super open and available with his emotions and reader thinking he's really cold and disinterested. is he ooc? yeah. do i care? no. if you want cannon ghost, play the game!
simon riley doesn't know when you became so important to him.
the only reason he even put out the ad for a roommate was because his landlord though he'd moved out while he was away and he'd rather have some bird in his place than deal with that again.
you were just so easy; showing up to the coffee shop (where you requested to have your first meeting just in case he was some crazy murderer) face flushed, strands of hair all over the place, and sweater a mess; rushing to explain how you got sprayed by a sprinkler on your walk over then chased by a dog. and just as you repeat sorry for the 30th time simon thinks he's in love. you're officially his roommate 30 minutes later.
but it's so out of character for him. he hasn't been around anything other than hard ass military men since he was a teenager. fuck, he's killed hundreds of men in his line of work, tortured thousands more. (he doesn't like to think that that's why he's so drawn to you. that you're so different from who he has to be, someone he's been for so long, that being around you lets him breathe. that he feels like he can actually sit and enjoy his moments away from the field in your tiny manchester apartment.)
he thinks it actually started with the decorations.
the small trinkets you let around the common spaces when he was away. it starts with your room obviously; fairy lights above your bed that spills light into the hallway when he comes home in the early morning hours, paintings on the wall that eventually flow over into the living room, the small plants in your window sill that you ask him to water one day after you leave for work.
then the dinner table suddenly has checkerboard placemats and a vase of flowers that change with the season. and his run-down couch has decorative pillows and a throw blanket (both words he learned from you when he questions what the fuck is on his couch). then the bathroom in the hallway gets a new soap stand, and a mat is placed at your front door, next to the shoe organizer and coat rack.
so he starts buying things too; the penguin plushie in the supermarket window, the vase that matches the curtains in the living room, and a small skull magnet to rest on the face of your fridge.
and before simon knows it his dreary, cold apartment actually looks lived in. and instead of coming home to a dark hallway and an empty fridge, your flower lamp is on, some random show from the 90s is playing, and there's food on the table.
he gets to know you more than he thought he would; he knows what foods you don't like, the books you're reading and the ones you refuse to read again, and even that dick from work he promises to take care of if he bothers you again (it's evident that you think it's a joke and not something that he would genuinely do but simon doesn't think he's ever been more serious).
but he never lets you know too much about him, you don't need to know about it and the less you find out the better.
then came dinners, actual dinner not just him showing up while you already had food ready. you would ask if he wanted whatever you had made ( 'i'm already making food and i normally don't eat is all anyway, so i might as well share' ). so suddenly he was spending his nights at your table with a homecooked meal and simon doesn't think he could ever let this go.
then he gets sent away again, for way longer this time. he makes sure to update his paperwork, changes his emergency contact, your name swirled onto the spouse line. you were probably as close as he'll ever get to one and if you're there they'll tell you if anything happens to him faster. he doesn't want to think of how nice your first name looks with his last name. and you'll probably never even know, simon's never gotten that injured before and he doesn't plan on it now.
months in the heat of the middle east return him to hard shell of a man he was. coming home caked in dirt, blood speckled on his clothes; he doesn't want you to see him like this, he doesn't want you to know this version of him. and for the first time he regrets letting you come into his life.
you are home when he gets back, 2:30 in the morning and every light is off, he opens your door to make sure. you're asleep, not shocking, cuddled into the giant octopus you won at an arcade. he tries not to move, he just wants to look at you for a little bit.
he wakes up the next morning to breakfast and a new pair of combat boots. he's only home for a week this time, not that he's ever home for longer than a month, and he tries to soak up all of your time. you complain about your car, he's on it. the heater started being testy, that's fine he'll take care of it. he's going grocery shopping with you, he watching that weird hospital show, and he enjoys his time in domestic bliss before getting thrown back into some random country.
somehow that all led him here. laying in a hospital bed with two bullets lodged in his shoulder with you sitting in some shitty chair pulled as close to the bed as you could.
"so uh, i'm mrs. riley now?"
"yeah, ya are. 'av been for a while."

the world when you're with me
Tumblr media
synopsis: you seek out sylus for comfort after realizing you were wrong about him.
tags: comfort, fluff, implied avoidant!reader learns to trust sylus, implied avoidant!reader clings to sylus, sylus takes care of reader from afar, sylus has mephisto and the twins follow reader but wbk pairing: sylus x reader, reader is mostly mc word count: 802
a/n: is this the peak of literature? no. did i need to write it after the day i had? yes. did i need to post it today? no, because i’m trying to stagger my posts more, but here we are. anyway 4k caleb pwp coming tomorrow
Tumblr media
For the first few weeks after you’d infiltrated the N109 Zone, you’d avoided Sylus Qin like the plague.
After being scared out of your wits by the first version of him you'd met—the cold, unavailable criminal mastermind who’d forced you to shoot him within 5 minutes of knowing one other—you were unashamedly wary of working with him again.
But Sylus’s intel was unrivaled. More and more often, you found yourself visiting the N109 Zone to meet with him, eventually not even bothering to book a place to stay. There was always a guest room at the Onychinus base prepped for your arrival.
As you spent more time with Sylus, he’d noticeably changed his approach to interacting with you. Rather than forcing you to resonate with him, he’d explained to you how his Evol worked, letting you aim his hands at some training dummies to test it out yourself. Instead of unceremoniously shutting you out when he was tired, he’d drag his robe-and-slippers-clad self to sit beside you on the sofa, answering your cautious questions by practically giving away all his secrets.
His shift in attitude hadn't stopped there. Sylus had clearly been using that endearingly incorrigible crow to keep tabs on you, but for the strangest reasons.
Whenever you had a bad day at work, some building-wide maintenance emergency would magically appear, forcing your team to cease operations for the rest of the day. He’d text you a couple hours after your early dismissal, saying he was in the city and inviting you on an evening joyride to clear your head.
The day after you’d lugged a case of water up the stairs to your apartment, having to pause a couple times to catch your breath, you came home to see your fridge mysteriously stocked with groceries. The only traces left behind were the masked twin figures you spotted scurrying away from your window.
When a new phone showed up at your doorstep one day—you never even told him you’d shattered your screen, you thought—you’d decided that Sylus wasn’t as bad as you’d once assumed. Not anywhere near as bad, in fact. He was thoughtful, generous, and helped you without taking credit or forcing you to ask for it. You’d never had that before.
Which is why, somehow, you find yourself standing in the doorway of his armory, studying him silently as he polishes an antique-looking gun.
When he notices you, Sylus looks up, raising a delicately arched eyebrow. “Something wrong, kitten?” he drawls, subtly checking your body for injuries.
Mind numb from your absolutely dreadful day, you stay silent while Sylus looks at you expectantly, his hands forgetting their earlier task.
But for the next minute, you remain hovering in the doorway. You expect him to get annoyed—you almost want him to, so you have an excuse to go back to relying only on yourself—but all you see on Sylus’s face is patience.
When you start shuffling toward him, that patience mixes with a glimmer of anticipation that he visibly tries to suppress. You need him to be calm right now—an anchor, he thinks. If he loses his composure, if he startles you with his excitement at your approach, you might bolt at any moment.
Sometime during his inner struggle, you reach him. Meekly, you stand before his chair, briefly opening your mouth before closing it.
“What is it, sweetie?” he asks softly. “Tell me, and we can figure it out together. I’ll personally track down whoever seems to have stolen your words from you.”
At his offer, you break, collapsing into his lap. His large, warm hands immediately encircle your waist, and you bury your face into his neck, inhaling his leather and spice cologne.
“Aw,” he coos in his baritone voice, rocking you slowly in his embrace. When he lifts your head an inch, you resist, letting out a soft whine. Gently, he guides your head back to his chest, his quickening heartbeat thumping in your ears and grounding you in the the moment.
After several moments of silence, your deep, shuddering breaths the only interruptions, Sylus murmurs into your ear. “When I noticed you never ask for help, I was worried the world may not be treating as well as it should. You must be very tired, hmm?” he asks, rubbing his chin against your hair.
Tightening your arms around him, you sit there for a while, his steady breaths seeming to mend a decades-long rift in your heart.
The next time Sylus tries to lift your head, you let him. He pulls your face from his neck so he can look into your eyes, hoping his gaze conveys his sincerity, before pressing a tender kiss to your forehead.
“You don’t need the world when you’re with me,” he promises. “I’ll treat you better than it ever could.”

arcane characters as sugar mommies/daddies ˚₊‧꒰ა $ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
been thinking about mel as a sugar mommy and decided to spread the joy to other characters >:)
haven’t proofread but i was obsessed with the idea and needed to get my thoughts out, hope you enjoy ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡
part 2.5
cw: don’t think gender is specified but i had a fem reader in mind so that might show, smut, degrading language used in a consensual manner, minors dni, 18+ only
Tumblr media
Vi
the alluring one
you’re trying to buy a round of drinks when your card declines and just as you’re about to die from embarrassment, her warm hand settles on your shoulder as her scarred lip smirks down at you
she pays for multiple rounds of drinks and before you know it, you’re making out in the alleyway
the rest is history
you never thought you’d be in an arrangement like this but she had her ways of convincing you otherwise
has a bunch of different girls on her roster that she maybeeee doesn’t tell you about
don’t worry, you’re the only sugar baby she pays this much for
when you find out you can’t even be that mad about it - she’s so hot you’d let her get away with anything
you’re smart enough to be pouty around her and take advantage of the situation - get ready for the greatest apology of your life
she invites you to her place just for you to find thousands of roses in the foyer and a gift box with your name on the table
she has you follow a trail of clues until you end up in her bedroom, still juggling an armful of gifts, where vi is waiting for you with a hopeful look
she rushes over to take the boxes from you and smothers your face in feather light kisses before apologising for making you feel shitty
her apology doesn’t stop there though and carries on well into the night
you complain about your bus being late? she’s already sent an uber black to your location
you don’t know which gaming console you want? she’s got it covered - multiple packages with every console you mentioned are arriving by the next day
you’re at a party but you’re feeling needy? she’s already dragging you to a storage cupboard, crowd be damned, and eating you out with such fervour you think you might see heaven
pays for your gym membership at a place like equinox and makes sure you two take full advantage of the sauna - it might be warm in there, but you come out sweaty for a whole other reason
has a garage full of vintage motorbikes that cost a fortune and only she can touch
pays you your days salary (and then some) so you can take time off work just so you can visit her at her home gym
she uses you to show off her impressive strength by lifting you as if you weigh nothing in her arms
getting used as her personal gym equipment is a major turn on
lives to impress you with her physique, she gets so pleased with herself when she notices your eyes darken as they wander over her toned body
she definitely has mirror ceilings and she definitely makes you stare at yourself as she fucks you stupid underneath them
Jinx
the mischevious one
she’s the rich artsy kind and you’re her muse
this means she needs you around 24/7 in case creativity strikes her - naturally, this leads to her paying for your company
has you come over to the studio all the time
one time, she set down a canvas on the floor, told you to strip, covered you two in paint and fucked you right there and then
the rolling around, teeth bared, guttural moan, primal kind of fucking; she relished in the bruises that bloomed on your neck and chest as she sucked on your most sensitive spots
the resulting painting was quite impressive to look at, even if thinking about its creation made you more flustered than you’ve ever been
her hands aren’t only good for creating art pieces it seems
she’s one of the sugar mommy’s that pays you the most since she views your company as priceless when it comes to her work
you get anything you ask for, seriously
you’re decked head to toe and all of it is something jinx either gifted you or gave you the money to buy
if it’s something not available to buy, she buys luxurious materials that cost more than your salary just to craft it for you
takes you to the kind of stiff, fancy places she hates just to have you wear vibrating underwear which she has the controls for
sometimes it’s even the opening night of her art gallery
she makes it a challenge: how long can you go without drawing attention to yourself due to your moans - the longer, the more money you get
it’s downright obscene, the way she knowingly glances at you with subdued glee , your slight whimpers echoing as you try your best to muffle the sounds, tears welling up in your eyes
she goes back to chatting up art collectors and investors as she secretly turns up the power of the vibrations hitting you right to the core
she calls you her “sweet thing” when you get back to her penthouse and she makes it up to you by giving you her bank card
she likes to make you laugh during sex too, she doesn’t like if you try to make it too “dour”
Caitlyn
the inexperienced one
cait’s been single for a while and it’s obvious it’s taking its toll
her friends encourage her to go out and meet someone new but she’s too focused on work to waste time on someone she probably won’t like
one day she stumbles upon a sugar baby site and says fuck it
the first date is pretty awkward but after a couple drinks, you manage to loosen her up so she’s more free with you
she has no clue what her role in this kind of arrangement is so she goes all out from the get-go; she loves spending money on you to the point it’s a bit insane even if she tells you not to worry
has to ask her friends for advice on the group chat constantly (she has a history of fumbling attractive people and she’s not letting it happen again)
adds you to her country club membership so you two can play tennis on the weekends
this place is fancyyyyyy but she makes sure you feel comfortable
gets you a instructor if you don’t know how to play
this obviously means she buys you about ten different outfits with tennis bracelets to match each
buys you a penthouse in the best part of town, close to where she lives of course so she has easy access to you
you two christen every single room in your new place, no stone left unturned
scissoring in the large bedroom, head on the lavish kitchen countertops, taking turns fucking with the strap on the balcony with a breathtaking view, fingering in the living room - everything and anything you can think of
her job isn’t done until the two of you are exhausted and wailing loud enough that the neighbours 20 floors down are complaining
she is insatiable when it comes to you, it’s like you lit a fire within her that she can’t put out no matter how hard she tries
completely adores how cute you act when you try to deny her pricey gifts
even more so when she gifts you a first edition book and your demeanour turns more panicked by the second
really though, she’s freaking out more than you are although she doesn’t show it often
her biggest fear is gifting you something you hate which leads to you ending everything
you’ve never had a sugar mommy treat you like this
she gives her assistant special instructions to let you into her office at any time, a privilege only you’re blessed with
you manage to distract her and before she knows it, she’s forced to make herself look presentable in only five minutes despite having a smudge-proof lipstick mark on her cheek she can’t get off for the life of her
doesn’t want to admit that she wants more than a purely transactional relationship with you
Silco
the generous one
gives you an exorbitant amount of money every time you see him
like, a CRAZY amount
it barely registers for him though, he has more money than should be possible
he goes as far as to give you his black card even if you didn’t ask for it
goads you to max it out and somehow, despite spending so much, you’ve barely dented the thing which makes him laugh
he expects you to spend most of the money he gives you on luxuries you wouldn’t normal buy and asks you to do a haul and model it all for him in his office
behind the scenes, he’s busy paying off your any debts you might have, setting up a trust fund for you, looking for houses you would like
wants you to be set up for life
showers you in decadent lingerie that fits you perfectly from boutiques like la perla, agent provocateur and honey birdette - only the best for his girl
has to replace your lingerie quite often though, he goes feral when he sees you all dolled up just for him
even more so if you were good and listened to his demands, buying the exact lingerie he wanted to see you in
has you sign a detailed contract before the arrangement begins since he wants to make sure you’re comfortable with everything
also wants to make sure you follow his rules
wants you to only refer to him using “sir” when it’s just the two of you
i see him as the kind of sugar daddy that does expect some sugar in return
he’s very abrasive in bed, and calls you all types of degrading names which only serves to turn you both on further
has some…curious interests that he pays you more for indulging in - he is a gentleman after all
“my money hungry slut” and “little whore” are his favourites
takes you on shopping sprees for aftercare (and maybe he does cuddle too but you can’t let anyone else know that) - he doesn’t want you to think he views you a less than just because of the life path you’ve chosen
his idea of pillow talk is giving you tips on the stock market and trading
Sevika
the brusque one
she has commitment issues, is afraid of vulnerability and has a high sex drive
this has led her romantic relationships to fail in one way or another, which is where you come in
she sees it as a simple business transaction - nothing more, nothing less
she likes having you around but don’t get confused: she doesn’t want a real relationship with you
doesn’t sugar coat her words around you and while it might make anyone else run for the hills, you appreciate her honesty
having someone as gorgeous as you coo and hang onto her every word does inflate her ego
everyone wants you, eyes appraising you up and down, but they can’t have you - only she can
so punctual with her payments that it genuinely feels like any other regular job
she looks down on those so called sugar mommies that skimp out of paying a fair rate - you don’t need to worry with her, you’ll be getting more than you ever really needed
despite presenting a stoic image, she can’t help but give in to your every whim
all you have to do is glance at a display window with even a hint of longing and she’s immediately rolling her eyes, dragging you into the shop to buy it for you
if you get tired walking around and ask her to carry you she will huff and puff but that doesn’t stop her from scooping you up anyway
she has a strap on AND it’s the kind that ejaculates too
you two go to luxury toy makers and get straps custom made to tailor to both of your wants and desires
she perhaps gets attachments for her mechanical arm too…
she doesn’t skimp out on the good stuff when it comes to you
her hot grunts ring in your ears as she grinds into you, her body seemingly encompassing your entire body and mind
creampies you every time and fucks the cum back inside of your dripping hole just to watch it leak back out and repeat the cycle again until you’re begging out for her
you’re in a daze for a good ten minutes after and she can’t help but snort at the faces you make
maybe this isn’t just a simple transaction to her
Vander
the hesitant one
vander feels icky about the relationship he has with you at the start
he’s much older than you and you’re still in university, it makes him feel like such a bad person who’s preying on your vulnerability
you make sure to always remind him that he’s single-handedly paying for your tuition
you love what he does for you!
once he gets past that hurdle though, god have mercy on your soul, you will be ruined for other people
he basically acts as your mentor just with some extra benefits on the side
loves to hear you yap about any projects you’re working on and does his best to help with any issues at university
he’s the type to text you good morning and good night every single day without fail
even gives you a bigger allowance if you wake up early and reply to his good morning texts quickly
what? it’s an incentive to get you to attend your lectures
likes to be called daddy even if it does make him blush intensely
he gets off on the idea of being your protector and the only one to provide for you
cockwarms you when you’re working on assignments and it turns your brain to mush every time
spanks you when you stop paying attention
honestly it feels like he’s working against you whenever he does this
also gets jealous when you talk about dates you had with other people
he never made the relationship an official one, but that doesn’t stop him from fucking you hard, his hand prints left on your hips to mark his territory
definitely can’t walk the next day and he’s so smug
down BAD
Ambessa
the teasing one
ambessa has play things in every city; you name a place, odds are she’s got a hook up there
you’re no exception of course
in fact, you’re her favourite out of them all
whenever ambessa calls, you run to be at her service
L O A D E D
exposes you to experiences you never even knew existed, i’m talking about things only the upper 1% can do
she’s the kind of sugar mommy that likes to hear about your day over a glass of wine
the mundanity helps her calm down from her hectic life
she will hold the things she does for you over your head
it’s mean but she views it as her right considering all the luxuries she gives you access to
jokes she’s going to go to a perfumer and get the scent of your sex turned into a perfume
when you accept a surprise gift from her, it turns out it was not a joke - you should’ve known something was up the second her wicked smile made an appearance
actually doesn’t smell too bad
has you use it every single time you’re around her and only then
she’s a FREAK what can i say
whisks you off to couple spa days; you both deserve a little rest and relaxation every now and then
speaking of spa days, she often asks you to massage her which usually ends with your large hands pawing all over your body
she likes receiving more than giving but she still prioritises giving you plenty of orgasms through the night
what kind of sugar mommy would she be without ensuring you’re also satisfied with your arrangement?
you’re worn out from what she considers foreplay
still, you need to make sure you’re being as thoughtful as she is otherwise you’re getting kicked down the rungs of her sugar baby ladder
Mel
the cunning one
mel is the best sugar mommy around i know it
doesn’t do it often - she tries to limit herself to one sugar baby every once in a while
she sees them as worthwhile investments
if you want to be her sugar baby, you need to bring something useful to the table
she meets you at a science exhibition and is thoroughly impressed with your work
you need funding to complete your research and she needs relief from her stressful life as a counsellor
a win-win situation if you ask her
you don’t see her often, she’s too busy solving problems with the council, but when you do, she makes sure it’s worth your time
expensive dinner dates, surprise weekend get-aways, opera concerts - anything you ask for, it’s yours
not only is she funding all of your research, she takes you to galas where you can mingle with the elites you need to win over to achieve more exposure for your research
she usually sends boxes full of clothes and shoes to your house for you to wear to these outings, and picks you up fancy black car with a chauffeur and bottles of wine in coolers
she has her hand on your leg the entire journey there, a faint smirk on her lips when she notices how hot and bothered you are
in a relationship like this, she likes to be the dominant one in bed
she doesn’t expect anything sexual in return but if you’re willing she’s more than happy to fulfill those needs too
leans towards being sensual and romantic but that doesn’t mean she won’t make sure to fuck you thoroughly
heavy on foreplay to the point you think you’re going to pass out from the pent up energy in you
has lots of toys she likes to use on you, she’s very experimental and wants to test which one you respond to the most
also likes you to use the toys on her too and when she sees you suck her wetness off the toy you just used on her, she melts into a puddle
yeah, you’re getting an instant increase on your allowance and you’re getting a new custom wardrobe
Jayce
the proud one
jayce comes from a relatively well-off family, but his inventions launched him into stardom and left him with more money than he knew what to do with
he decides the best thing he can do is spread the love
he finds you on a site for this kind of stuff, something he would rather die than admit, and knew he had to get you on a date with him
makes you custom jewellery set with the most unique stones you’ve ever seen and loves when you wear them out on dates with him
you probably have the entire gdp of a small country just on your wrist alone
wants a play-by-play of all the things you bought that week, he’s lowkey into hearing how much of his money you spent on treating yourself
he wants you to buy even more things with his money than you already do which flusters you but you give in every time
he’s another one that wants a fashion show where you try on everything you bought
he just likes to sit and clap with a smile as you twirl for him
loves to show you off at all the balls and galas he’s invited to
takes you on late night drives in his alpine a110 r-turini and he always has one arm, big with straining muscles, around your headrest which never fails to make your heart flutter
oh i can see him being into role play
maybe he’s your boss and you’re the maid he just caught stealing from him lmao
he loves to get sloppy head from you and offers you all sorts of gifts in return
talking, or helplessly groaning in this situation, about all the ways you can drain his money is his form of dirty talk, “yeah, just like that babe. you want me to buy that new phone don’t you? well, take me like the good girl i know you are and work for it.”
he’s so whipped for you it borders on quite cute imo
Viktor
the cocky one
viktor came into new money after selling the patent for one of his inventions
he is well aware that he’s an attractive guy and could have pretty much anyone he wants, but his long work hours aren’t conducive to healthy relationships
so he takes it upon himself to get a sugar baby, no strings attached
has you stay with him in his lab to keep him company - he loves listening to your idle chatter about things he has no interest in
but when it’s you talking about them he’s captivated by every word
likes to call you his “cute lab assistant” and tries to hide how much he likes it when you call him your “handsome scientist”
he fails obviously
he explains extremely complicated topics in a very contrived way, even when he knows he can simplify it for the average person, because seeing the dumbfounded look on your face gets him going
closes down a whole shopping mall just so you can frolic about and shop to your hearts content; oh, don’t worry about all those bags, he has a guy to carry them all so you two can focus on having a nice date ^^
gonna be real, he’s the kind of guy to fuck you against the wall of the changing room, not caring that the bashful shop assistants can hear every single clap of skin slapping against each other and the strangled moans you both let out
buys all the clothes you tried on, you’re too fucked out to notice the looks you get from the workers, and the fact that the clothes might be a bit…dirty 😭
at least he tips them enough to make up for it
sprays his designer cologne on your gifts so you remember who you belong to
playfully suggests you give him a lap dance so he gets his money worth but you both know it was anything but a joke
good thing you love putting on a show for him!
this guy is such a troll, he literally throws money on you and slips bills in between the straps of your underwear as you sensually dance for him in the lingerie he paid for
has to control himself from pouncing on you then and there
he really enjoys the way you can both tease each other and not take things too seriously

will be writing this as a full-length fic soon…..amen!!
your relationship with nanami kento is the definition of ironic.
the office sees him as the perfect gentleman—level-headed, dependable, the very image of an ideal husband. meanwhile, you? you are the sweet, naive darling of the workplace, someone who gasps at crude jokes and stumbles over words when discussing anything remotely risqué. ‘a match made in heaven,’ they all say.
except, unbeknownst to your dear colleagues, you are a raging nymphomaniac with a one-track mind and a concerning dedication to testing nanami’s limits.
and unbeknownst to you, nanami is a retired playboy who has seen, done, and invented things that would make your little schemes look like a child's game of seduction.
case #1
it’s after work, and you two are in the break room. you “accidentally” drop your pen, bending down waaaayyyy too slow to pick it up, making sure your skirt rides up just enough to be suggestive. when you glance up at nanami, expecting maybe a sharp inhale, a slight stutter, anything—he just averts his eyes politely and sighs. “you should be more careful,” he says, taking a sip of his coffee.
…excuse me? that was textbook seduction! and all he’s giving you is a life lesson? “right,” you mutter, picking up the pen and standing up. he hums in response, unbothered. internally, you are seething. externally, you giggle and twirl a strand of hair around your finger.
but, on the other side of things—inside nanami’s mind, sirens are blaring. red alert. red alert. his eyes are on the ceiling. his knuckles are white around his coffee cup. he is chanting sutras in his head because he is one wrong move away from pinning you against the fridge. but no. no. he will not be like his past self. he will not ruin your innocence with his past perversions. “next time, hold onto your pen properly,” he adds.
you nearly choke. that sounded so suggestive. was that suggestive? but his face remains neutral. damn it.
case #2
one morning, you decide to test the waters by “accidentally” wearing one of nanami’s dress shirts to breakfast. you stretch a little tooooo much while reaching for the honey, making sure the fabric lifts enough to tease him. “oh no,” you say, “i think i grabbed the wrong shirt! it’s so big on me, kento.” you add a slight pout for effect. nanami doesn’t even blink. “ah, my mistake for folding it with your laundry.”
you stare at him. that’s it? not even a pause before responding? no flustered reaction? what is this man made of?????
meanwhile, nanami is gripping his fork like it’s a stress ball. the sight of you in his shirt is awakening something inside him that he spent years suppressing. memories of past flings, of long nights and tangled sheets, of being far from the gentleman he’s known as today—no. no. he is different now. he is refined. composed. civilized. “you should eat before your food gets cold,” he adds, stuffing a piece of toast into his mouth before he can say something dangerous.
you slump in your chair. you’re starting to think your boyfriend might actually be asexual.
case #3
you opt for the classic “watch a horror movie together” trick. the goal? get scared and cling to nanami, maybe “accidentally” bury your face into his chest. standard. foolproof. except—
“you’re shaking,” nanami notes. you look up at him, eyes wide and watery. yes. yes. take the bait. comfort me, kento.
he reaches for the remote.
“huh?”
he turns the movie off.
“i don’t think this is good for you,” he says. “we should sleep.”
…you are speechless.
meanwhile, nanami is on his last thread of sanity. if you keep clutching his arm like that, he is going to fold. but he will not. he cannot. he must protect your innocence. even if it kills him.
case #4
one rainy evening, you come home completely drenched from forgetting your umbrella. hair dripping, clothes clinging to every curve—you look like the lead actress of a romcom who is about to get thoroughly ravished by the male lead. nanami, who opens the door for you, malfunctions. but on the outside? his face remains blank. “you should change before you catch a cold.”
what. the. fuck.
“c-can you lend me one of your shirts?” you try, shivering. “of course.” and with that, he disappears into the bedroom, returning with sweatpants and a hoodie.
A HOODIE.
where is the white button-up? the gray sweatpants?  you take the clothes in silence. this is your lowest point.
meanwhile, nanami is pouring himself a glass of ice water. his soul is escaping his body.
case #5
you decide to take a break from your antics. maybe you were reading into things too much. maybe nanami truly is just that reserved. maybe…maybe he just isn’t interested in you that way.
that night, nanami is in bed, scrolling through his phone when he stumbles upon a post:
"when a man truly loves you, he will control himself so he doesn't ruin you."
he stares at the post. then at the ceiling. “ah,” he mutters.
so that’s why.
in the darkness of your shared bedroom, you both lay in silence—both believing you’re the one restraining yourself for the sake of the other.
a tragic comedy. a love story with too many misunderstandings.
a match made in heaven.

— the “informant” (jason todd x reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: You mark up one of Jason's case files, and it slips both of your minds the next day. So, when Jason brings the file with him to the cave, everyone quickly catches on to the fact that Jason is working with someone. He's able to pass it off as just an informant, but one sibling stumbles upon the truth. Word count: 1.1k
Tumblr media
Jason lands as quietly as possible on the fire escape attached to his apartment — top floor corner, adjacent to an alley with almost zero lighting and a building with no windows. Great for a vigilante at least.
He crouches down by the window, pressing a disguised button to disable the alarm attached. After the soft popping sound, he pushes up the window and steps through into his apartment. His boots land on scuffed hardwood with a thud and he quickly shuts the window, turning the alarm back on while doing so.
The apartment is silent besides the soft rush of air coming from the air conditioner. As he moves into his kitchen, he hears a mug be placed on the counter gently, then the scratch of a pen against paper. A small fond smile forms on his face, hidden by his helmet, which he takes off as he passes through the archway.
You're sitting at the counter, a cup of tea to your right and a file in front of you. "You snoopin' through my stuff now?" He teases. You pick up your head just the slightest, and he can make out your sheepish smile. "You seemed a little stumped, thought I could offer my expertise." Jason is reminded of the past you once held, following your "mentor" around the world as they battled assassins and the like. You had a similar life to him, but you left your cape behind for a new start in Gotham of all places. He got lucky meeting you.
Jason watches as you twirl a glittery, purple gel pen in between your fingers. He silently removes the rest of his getup as you return to making small notes in the margins of the case profile. Being with you is easy, because sometimes his presence in the room is enough. No words have to be exchanged even as time passes.
He peels off his mask and washes away the 'glue' on his face. Jason can feel your eyes on him, watching as he shrugs off his leather jacket, then his gloves. "You joining me?" He asks when he turns around, tipping his head toward the hallway that leads to the bathroom. Sometimes, when he arrives home and you're awake, you'll join him in the shower. It's never anything sexual, but relaxing nonetheless; with your hands gentle as you run the soap through his hair, and your soft words. "Mmm...sure. I'm about done, anyway." You slip off the stool silently, closing the file before stretching your arms above your head.
A moment later, Jason is in front of you, placing a kiss on your temple, your cheek. "I think they might be selling to Scarecrow, some of the chemicals are similar to what he's been using lately." Jason groans at your statement and his head falls to lean against your shoulder. "Not now, I do not need more motivation to go back out there."
"Later, then."
Later never comes; Jason picks up a shift at the auto shop near the edge of Park Row, and you go into work as you usually do. He completely forgets about your 'annotations', so he brings the file with him when he visits the cave later that night.
"Since when do you own a glitter pen?" Tim teases from his spot by the computer, Jason's file open in front of him. "What— Gimme it." Jason springs forward, memories from the previous night coming back to him. Tim quickly grabs the papers, holding them in the air and leaving the manila file folder on the desk.
"What's going on?" Steph questions, eyes narrowed as Tim stands on his chair to get a height advantage over Jason. "Todd uses a glitter pen." Damian rolls his eyes before going back to sparring against a hologram.
"It's purple," Tim grins and laughs as Steph gasps dramatically. "You do like purple! I knew it!"
"I do not! Give me the file, replacement. I'm serious." Jason wraps his arm around Tim, pulling off the chair and into his arms. Tim squirms, then falls to the floor with the papers still in his hands. He scrambles up quickly, and extends his staff. "This isn't your handwriting...you're working with someone!" Tim exclaims, poking Jason away from him as he quickly reads through the top paper.
"Jason, we should talk before you let anyone else read our case files," Bruce comments as he easily grabs the papers from Tim's hands. "I'm not working with anyone," Jason grumbles, rolling his eyes behind his mask. However, his cheeks are red hot, thankfully hidden by his helmet.
Dick peers over Bruce's shoulder, reading as well. "Tim's right though, this isn't your handwriting," He grins brightly, walking over to Jason with a giddy smile. "Did you make a new friend, Little Wing?" Jason can hear Steph and Tim laugh in the background as he groans.
"It's— They're just an informant, I did background checks and I've known them for a bit. I trust them." Everyone goes quiet for a bit, staring at him like it's hard to believe that he'd let anyone else get that close. "That's good," Dick comments, and everyone murmurs their agreements. It's awkward, because they still step around like he'll snap at them any second.
"I'm leaving." He stomps over to his bike, the engine roaring loudly as he starts it up. There's eyes on his back until he's out of the cave.
Tumblr media
After Bruce and Tim read through the papers annotated by Jason's informant, Cass grabs them. Tim had taken pictures to try and analyze the handwriting, and she could see Bruce's silent questions about who the informant could be. Whoever Jason gave the file had insight even Tim missed the first time, and they added funny little comments on the side. When she goes to put the papers back in the file folder, she finds a sticky note on the inside in the same glittery purple pen. You're welcome Jay; I <3 U :).
Cass smiles softly, taking out the sticky note carefully and putting the papers back. When she goes out, she starts in Crime Alley first, even if it's Jason's territory. He finds her quickly.
"What're you doing here, Bat?" Jason asks, arms crossed over his chest. Cass opens one of the pockets on her belt, and pulls out the sticky note. She unfolds it before handing it to Jason. He reads it, then quickly looks at Cass again. "You didn't show anyone, did you?"
She shakes her head and Jason sighs in relief. "Thanks." Cass nods before leaving the rooftop just as fast as she came.
Jason folds the note back up with a smile. He'll have to delete some of his mask footage tonight.

Any Excuse | one shot
Dr. Jack Abbot x f!Hospitalist!reader
Requested
Summary: A snapshot of your interactions with the ruggedly handsome ER doctor, and several of the excuses he uses to see you.
[ Masterlist ]
Anon Request: I have a request! Jack Abbot x reader where the reader is a new night-shift hospitalist (the doctor that is responsible for taking care of patients admitted to the hospital from the ER) at PTMC. She and Jack hit it off after meeting and he keeps trying to come up with any excuse at all to admit patients just to have to contact her. And maybe he goes and visits his admitted patients “just to check up on them” even though he never has before and probably barely remembers their names just to see her. And the night shift ER crew just smirk at each other whenever she goes to their department to see a patient and interacts with Abbot.
Note: so I read a bunch of articles about hospitalists and I still feel like I might have misunderstood, so this took a bit longer than intended lol but here it is! I hope you enjoy💜
Word Count: 1.4k
All of my works are 18+ due to general adult content.
Warnings: hospital setting, medical inaccuracies, foul language, pining, slowburn? (can I say that in a one shot? lol), so much sass & flirting
not beta read
Tumblr media
Jack thought that the first time he saw you, he had to be dreaming. A cliched savior in a white lab coat, moving through the Pitt with a purpose and a smile. He had heard about the new hospitalist floating around, having started several weeks prior, but he had never seen you down in the Pitt before.
You had come down for an admitted patient, and when you stopped in front of him to go over the case, it took him a second to speak.
“Finally come to see how the other half lives?”
“More like finally hitting rock bottom.” You supplied effortlessly with a smirk.
One side of Jack’s lips tilted upwards, “Patient’s been waiting nearly two hours on a bed upstairs.”
“Don’t hate the player, hate the game.” You said, eyes flickering across the busy ED, “You’re lucky he wasn’t waiting for surgery. You’d wait all night.”
Jack handed over the tablet showing the patient’s chart. You skimmed through it quickly, humming as you did.
“Great, I’ll go get him to radiology. Thank you, Dr. Abbot.” You said, smiling at him.
He watched you go with an uncapped fascination. With the tiniest hint of a smile, Jack got back to work.
The next time he saw you, you were in one of the ED rooms, talking to a mother and daughter. You were going over some results, before explaining that you would be bringing the mother upstairs shortly for inpatient care. Your demeanor was kind, but refined, shoulders set with an easy smile.
“Good evening, Dr. Abbot.” You said as you approached him.
He greeted you after a beat, subtly taking in your figure. “Would be better without all these boarders.”
You glanced at the board, “Truly, if this is how the other half lives, I’m good where I’m at.”
A wry grin formed, “Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.”
You chuckled, “I think the dose I got on my med school rotation is good enough for a lifetime. I’m content just drifting through, on occasion.”
Me too, Jack thought before shaking it off, steeling his expression.
“You get used to it.” Jack said, tone light, “At least, that’s what I keep telling myself.”
Jack ignored the way Ellis looked over at him.
“Duly noted.” You said with a smile. “Can we go over my patient quickly? I’d like to get her upstairs.”
Jack nodded, moving closer to you to rattle off several things about your patient.
It was around that time Jack started taking sugar in his coffee. Just one packet, but it did not go unnoticed.
“Ah, Dr. Abbot, just the man I was looking for.” You said, walking over to the charge desk where he stood.
He looked from the board to you, eyebrow raised, “Don’t hear that often.”
You raised a challenging eyebrow in return, “Why’s that, do you think? Certainly would have nothing to do with your bedside manner, or that rugged charm? Perhaps the dry humor? No, certainly not.”
Shen barked a laugh beside him, before quickly covering it with an awkward cough.
Jack blinked, momentarily speechless. “I think it has something to do with…what did Dana’s daughter call it? My resting bitch face?”
You laughed, and the sound carried, making Jack’s heart squeeze.
“Maybe that’s it. I’d just call it ‘stoic and mysterious’. It works, for you.” You said, clearing your throat and glancing away from him as your cheeks heated. “Anyways, I was just coming to ask why you were admitting the patient in Central-5? EKG was clean, troponin test confirmed no heart attack, and you can monitor overnight down here.”
“Need the bed.” He supplied. “8/10 chest pain that comes and goes, shortness of breath, several risk factors like high cholesterol and triglycerides. CCU should take him.”
You hummed, looking over the chart again. “Alright, yeah, I’ll take him. I’ll follow up with his PCP in the morning to get more of a history. Thank you, Dr. Abbot.”
Jack nodded.
“Can you let Ms. Kelly know I’ll be back down shortly to bring her to gastro?”
He nodded again, “Course.”
You smiled brightly at him, “Thank you!”
Hours later, Jack had moved up to CCU to check on a patient. Something he never did. It was less so to check up on the patient, and more so to see you. He didn’t even remember the patient’s name, only their list of symptoms, their test results.
You had begun to occupy most of his thoughts, and he found himself looking for any excuse to talk with you. The bad breakroom coffee felt hot in his hands, two cups holding more weight than just liquid. He had no idea how you took your coffee — if you drank coffee — but he guessed you preferred it slightly sweet. He really hoped he was right.
Sat in a reserved corner of the seventh floor, you were charting — hands moving quickly over the keys, eyes focused.
“Hey,” Jack said softly, as to not startle you.
You turned your head, taking him in before you smiled.
“Wanted to check up on Mr…uh, and figured you might need this.” He offered you one of the cups.
You blinked, “Mr. Olsen? You wanted to check up on a patient?” You accepted the coffee, “Thank you, this was really nice of you.”
“Yeah, yeah. Was hoping I was being overly cautious and he didn’t actually have a heart attack.”
“It’s good you wanted to admit him, actually. I think he has GERD.” You said, taking a careful sip of the hot liquid, and a smile lit up your features when you swallowed, eyes flickering from the liquid and back to Jack.
Jack took a sip of his black coffee, nodding. “That makes sense, actually. Heartburn could’ve been what he was feeling.”
“I asked him about his diet, high-fat mostly. He had a spicy burrito for dinner, so yeah. GERD. Waiting for a consult, but he’s doing fine. I’ll have him follow up with a nutritionist and his PCP.”
“Good, that’s good.” He shifted his weight. “Looks like you’ll have all the glory, then.”
You laughed, “Hardly. You wanted to admit him…but we can share. 70/30?”
Jack smirked, “Closer to 60/40. I did order all those tests.”
You scoffed playfully, “I will go no lower than 65/45.”
“Deal.”
You came down into the Pitt with coffees in hand, eyes searching for a particular doctor — the one with hard, caring hazel eyes, salt and pepper curls, and a smile that made your heart race.
“He’s in Trauma-1,” said Ellis, hiding her smirk well. “I can let him know you stopped by?”
Your cheeks heated, “I can wait, I have two patients to check up on down here. They should have beds within the hour.”
Ellis nodded, “Look at you getting stuff done.”
“Heavy is the head…”
She chuckled.
Jack said your name in surprise, closing in on you. He took in the coffees and your smile.
You handed him one without ceremony, “Returning the favor.”
He accepted it graciously, ignoring how Shen and Ellis were smirking at him, taking a sip.
“Damn, they hide the good shit upstairs, huh?”
You cracked a grin, “It’s as if they play favorites.”
Jack put a hand over his heart and mocked offense, “You wound me. Are you saying I’m not your favorite?”
“I brought you the good shit, didn’t I?” You smirked, not missing a beat.
Jack called your work cell, glancing up at the board with one hand in his pocket. His shift was nearly over, but he had decided to call you after he had failed to see you for most of his shift.
“Thinking about admitting a patient to the cardiology,” he supplied lamely. “I know you can work magic with admissions.”
“You’re calling to ask for advice or for a favor?” You asked, “Or just so the Pitt can be graced with my wondrous presence right before shift change?”
“Can’t one doctor just call another?” A pause, “But can’t it be a bit of all of that?”
Your laugh was light and airy, “I’ll be down in a few minutes.”
True to your word, you arrived in under ten minutes.
“You could just page me next time.”
He shrugged, “Ruins the mystique.”
A sharp laugh escaped your throat that you covered with your hand. “I feel like it would add mystique, even though I hardly think you leave any for the rest of us.”
“You think I’ve got mystique?”
“Totally. I dig the whole ‘gritty ER doc bathed in mystery’ thing you’ve got going on.”
“Yeah?” He raised a challenging eyebrow. “So I shouldn’t ask you to dinner then?”
“No, no,” Your cheeks flamed. “I think you totally should. But only if you don’t think it’ll ruin your rough-edge reputation.”
“We should test it. You know, for science.”
You agreed easily, “For scientific purposes only.”
He matched your smirk.

I would love to see what your hypothetical Kanade crash out would look like ngl (you don't need to draw for this if you don't want to a text explanation would still be awesome)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ok soooo this isn't exactly the crashout but rather building up to it i guess :P
the rest of this post is gonna be rambling and predictions ⬇️
alright this ask enabled me, im gonna just dump all my thoughts as of now on what's to come for kanade's story :) i could end up being completely wrong, but hey im just theorizing and having fun here while i wait very impatiently lol
To start, I don't think kana5 will be on the scale of mizu5 (i mean i might be biased but idk if anything will come close to that level of insanity again), mainly because there hasn't been as much build-up to a breaking point. Kanade's issues have been pushed aside (by herself especially) and not heavily focused on up to this point in the story. There hasn't been any increasing tension for things to reach a climax yet. Having her big break be in this next event would be too sudden and sort of unprecedented. For this event at least, I highly doubt that'll be the case. Instead, I think this event will start to touch on Kanade's buried issues more, and begin building that tension for something bigger. I can see this being a multiple event arc, similar to the events leading up to the climax of Mafuyu's story. Summarizing that, yes I think Kanade's got some real tough shit ahead of her, but that's why this won't be a one-off event story. I think it'll just be the beginning.
That being said, to touch more on my predictions for kana5 itself, I think Kanade will start to slip, and the others, Mafuyu especially, will take notice. I can't really predict anything specific, but I think something will happen that will make her question her ability to save people, or cause her to be harder on herself, as she has in the past, to keep composing persistently, neglecting her own needs and health. However, things are different now than they were before niigo. She has more people around her that will be able to see the damage she's doing to herself. But she also knows they all look up to her, and that her music lifts them up. She knows they all have a lot they're dealing with, and she needs to be there for them. She can't let them down.
Tumblr media
Then, when Kanade pushes herself past her limits at the cost of her well-being, what will she do then? She meets with the others on nightcord every night, and Mafuyu is living at her place. She won't be able to rot away by herself anymore without people noticing. But she still feels this need to be the group's rock and to be the one to save everyone, so she'll try her damn hardest to prevent the others from worrying about her. She'll shoot down their attempts at trying to talk about it. I think she might be especially stubborn this time around, and it might cause niigo to have to figure out a way to help Kanade, since they won't be able to get through to her at first.
Tumblr media
Kanade has shown in the past to get uncharacteristically aggressive when she's pushing herself too hard, as shown above. She starts to take on everything herself, and snaps at anyone who tries to stop her. I think this side of her will be shown more going forward, as she begins to go down this kind of self-destructive path yet again. At least, that's where I think her story will go. Her tendency to work herself to the bone hasn't really been resolved, and she's gone so far with it before to end up in the hospital after passing out. She doesn't care what happens to her, as long as she can save people. The only reason she has ((slightly)) gotten better at taking care of herself is so that she can be able to keep composing without ending up in the hospital again. Not because she cares about her health. Because she must keep composing. She still only does the bare minimum for herself. If it's her cooking, she's only having instant ramen, and most days she's probably not going to see the sun. She still doesn't sleep much, and Mafuyu has said that she's often falling asleep at her computer.
This might be getting a little rambley atp, but my point is that Kanade neglects her own needs in her determination to save others. I mentioned how she neglects her physical health in the last paragraph, but she also neglects her own feelings as well.
Tumblr media
She minimizes her own problems or just doesn't even talk about them. I think she truly believes that her problems don't matter, that they only distract her from her goals. The reason she doesn't open up is likely because she herself doesn't believe her feelings are important at all. She doesn't pay them any mind, and she doesn't want anyone else to either.
Tumblr media
Of course, I have to bring this card up. I think this is just a perfect visual representation of Kanade's feelings, and it's great foreshadowing for what's to come. Those feelings are buried deep within Kanade, yet to be addressed or solved. THIS is what we're getting into. Kanade, depicted as an angel, surrounded by death. I think this is related to her guilt surrounding what happened to her father, believing it was her fault. That she destroyed everything. But because of that incident, she told herself she has to keep composing, and never stop, in order to save people. She feels like she owes that much, and that that's her sole purpose. She won't allow herself to think otherwise. No matter how much it destroys her, she must be a savior for others.
Tumblr media
Last thing I wanted to add, because I saw this reblog under a prev kanade analysis post, and they brought up great points. Especially how dangerous Kanade's composing grind can get. We wouldn't even have a story if Honami hadn't found Kanade unconscious!!! I think she might get to a really low point again like this, but having Mafuyu there especially, it won't be able to go unnoticed. I don't have much else to add to those tags though cus they speak for themselves 🙏
Finally, just real quickly going back to the little comic I drew, this is just a rough idea of how I think Kanade could act. She'll get noticeably worse, but will try to hide that fact from the others and deny any help from them. I also mentioned that I think we could see more aggression from her again, so I included that, as she feels threatened in a way by Mafuyu worrying about her. She can't let that happen. Also, Kanade's impending doom aside, I think this progression in the story may also spark some change in Mafuyu. She might show some more emotion in this or future events, and she may realize how much Kanade means to her, motivating her to do more for her. I think it'll be a full group effort to save Kanade, but I wanna see Mafuyu taking a bigger role in this. I just think this also has the potential to grow Mafuyu's character more.
Also, as for the Kanade crashout, I really don't know how they'll handle that. I can't really predict what they're gonna do with her climax. But I want her screaming yelling and crying !!! like she better go insaneeee 🙏 and I also feel like they have a lot of potential with her seiyuu/VA and stepping out of the soft quiet voice to do some crazy shit, maybe in the songs too pls pls pls give us loud kanadeeee
OKAY THATS ENOUGH YAPPING its 5 am i havent slept....

“First time?” Sirius asks as he ties a rubber tourniquet around your arm.
You blink, looking away from the rows of chairs laid out beside you and back to him. “Sorry?”
“Is this your first time donating?”
“Oh. Yeah. How did you know?”
Sirius—he told you to call him Sirius when you sat down, though at first you thought he meant the word serious—grins at you. He has dark hair tied in a messy yet startlingly chic chignon at the back of his head, his face seems chiseled from marble, and he’s one of the few people working the clinic today in paramedic uniforms instead of nurse’s scrubs. His attractiveness intimidates you, but his demeanor sets you at ease; it’s a real trial for your nervous system altogether.
“You look a bit nervy,” he says.
“I don’t know why I am,” you laugh, nervously. “I’m not squeamish or anything, I just…haven’t done this before.”
“That’s perfectly alright. A lot of first-timers are a bit antsy.” Sirius’ gloved finger begins prodding at the crook of your elbow, but his eyes are on you. “Get comfortable, darling. You’ll be grand.”
You aren’t sure how, exactly, to get comfortable, but you try to settle into the plasticky chair. Sirius’ cheek apples like he appreciates the effort. He looks down at your arm. It feels oddly vulnerable, like he’s staring at the softest, most delicate part of you. You try not to think about it.
“Alright, here we are.” He grabs his supplies from the table beside him, gaze flickering to you again. “You want to close your eyes, sweetness? I know you’ve said you’re not squeamish, but just in case.”
You close your eyes, thinking that you’re more likely to anxiously vomit from him calling you sweetness than anything else.
“Perfect. Okay, you might feel a little poke.”
It is little, so little you barely feel it at all, but that doesn’t keep your stomach from hopping up into your throat. You take in a breath through your nose.
“Doing alright?”
“Mhm. Sorry, yeah.”
“Nothing to be sorry for, gorgeous. Just let me know if you start to feel funny or anything.”
Funny might describe the state of your head right now. Sounds seem to fade in and out, your focus slipping. You feel sure Sirius can see the sweat beading on your upper lip.
But you stick it out, breathe steadily in and out your nose, and soon Sirius is telling you, You’re doing beautifully. Almost done.
Unfortunately, the next breath in comes with a rush of nausea. You feel like you should tell him.
“Um,” you mumble, eyes still closed.
“Yeah?”
“I’m not…feeling…”
The last couple of words get all tangled up in your tongue on their way out.
“Hey. Hey, babe, you okay? Can you open your eyes for me?”
You try. It’s like looking through fuzz.
“James!”
You want to pick your head up and see what’s turned Sirius’ voice so urgent all of a sudden, but you don’t have the strength.
“Here she comes. You’re alright, love.”
You make a small, humiliating sound as you rouse, made all the more humiliating by the way the voice shushes you gently. You remember where you are instantly, and wonder why you’re lying flat on your back on cool tile rather than sitting in the chair.
The shushing voice isn’t Sirius’, either.
“Can you open your eyes, please?” it asks.
You do, somewhat reluctantly, subjecting your corneas to cruel fluorescent lights and the stare of the man above you. It’s a rather kind stare, really. Hardly fair to say you’re being subjected to it.
“Hi there,” he says. “How are you feeling?”
“Hi.” You look down your body, to where another man is sitting cross-legged on the floor, holding both of your ankles on his shoulder. “I’m…okay. What…?”
“You’re at the blood donation clinic,” the first one tells you. “You fainted.”
“Oh. I’m sorry.”
The man at your feet laughs. “That’s alright, babe. All in a day’s work, you know.”
Not long ago, you remember feeling like all the blood was draining from your body. Now, you’re quite sure it’s returning to your face with vigor.
“How long was I out?”
“Not long,” the man by your head reassures you. “We only just managed to get you lying down when—”
“Oh, good!” Sirius startles you, coming up from behind your head without warning. “You gave me a fright, gorgeous. I did tell you to say if you started feeling funny, didn’t I? I thought we had a repartee. How are you feeling now? Is Remus taking good care of you?”
You blink. It appears your brain is still functioning at somewhat less than peak performance, and you struggle to keep up with all his questions. “I’m fine. I…I did try to say…”
“It’s not your fault, love,” Remus says, covering the top of your head almost protectively with his hand. He gives Sirius a dry look. “We’re supposed to ask beforehand if you have a history of fainting.”
“There’s no history to be had!” Sirius defends himself. “It’s her first time. Luckily, I have catlike reflexes in terms of sounding the alarm, and James was quick enough to catch her before she toppled out of the chair.”
“Oh, first time.” The one who must be James gives you a sympathetic look. His thumb rubs over your ankle bone as though to comfort you. “I hope this hasn’t spoiled it for you, lovely. I’m sure it’s scary.”
This doesn’t feel like the sort of thing you’re meant to reply to, but when both Remus and Sirius look at you with similar pitying expressions, you squeeze out a meek, “I’m okay.”
“We’ll try to make sure you leave without too awful of an impression.” Sirius grins at you, squatting by your side. “We’re just gonna take it nice and slow, babe. How about sitting up to have a drink?”
When you nod, Remus slips a hand behind your back, supporting you upright. James sets your legs down as he does.
“Alright, any preferences?” Sirius begins lining up plastic bottles on the floor beside you. “Our bar is stocked with apple, orange, and grape juice and water.”
“Ooh, he must really like you,” says James. “Normally he hoards the grape juice for himself.”
Sirius shoots his friend a nasty look, but he doesn’t deny it.

haircut — spencer reid
pairing: spencer reid x reader ( no use of y/n ) summary: you're caught off guard by spencer's haircut content warnings: mention of stuffing yourself with ice cream and popcorn a/n: boyband spencer makes me feel things so i just had to write this
Tumblr media
You pushed open the door to the conference room. The scent of freshly brewed coffee lingered in the air, mixing with the faint scent of paper and ink from the stacks of case files spread across the table.
Penelope Garcia was already seated. She looked up from her laptop the moment you entered, her eyes lighting up as she greeted you.
"Good morning, sunshine!" she chirped, holding out a file for you.
You smiled, the warmth of her energy making the early morning a little more bearable. “Good morning,” you replied, taking your seat beside her. “Thanks, Pen.”
She gave you a playful wink. “Always here to deliver your daily dose of doom and gloom.”
You chuckled, shaking your head as you leaned back in your chair, settling in. “How was your weekend?” you asked, genuinely curious.
Penelope sighed dramatically, pressing a hand to her chest. “Oh, my dear, it was divine—a full 48 hours of zero crime, binge-watching the most ridiculous reality shows, and eating a huge amount of popcorn. A true masterpiece of relaxation. What about you?” Penelope asked, her eyes fixed on her computer screen as she attempted to pull up the PowerPoint for the case briefing.
You sighed, stretching slightly in your chair. “Same thing,” you admitted. “Spent the weekend on the couch, barely moving, while shoveling buckets of ice cream down like it was my full-time job.”
Penelope gasped dramatically, turning to you with wide eyes. “You didn’t move? At all?”
“Barely,” you confirmed, already missing the comfort of your couch. “Honestly, I think I might have become part of it.”
She snorted, shaking her head as she finally got the PowerPoint to cooperate. “Respect,” she said, clicking through the slides.
Before you could respond, the conference room door opened again, and the rest of the team started trickling in. Hotch took a seat next to you, as he opened his files, while JJ leaned toward Penelope, the two of them quickly falling into conversation.
You glanced around the table, scanning the usual faces—until you noticed an empty seat.
Spencer’s seat.
Your brows furrowed slightly. He was never late. If anything, he was usually one of the first to arrive, sitting quietly with his coffee, already halfway through the case materials before anyone else had even opened their files.
When JJ and Penelope began presenting the case, you had no time to let your anxieties cloud your judgement regarding the empty seat. voices pulling you back into work mode.
That was until JJ suddenly smirked and said, “Well, hello.”
Your eyebrows furrowed as you turned to her, confused by her reaction—until you followed her gaze.
And then, your mouth fell open.
Spencer had just walked in.
But not the Spencer you had been expecting.
He looked… different.
Not in a bad way. Not even in a way you had the right words for. Just—different.
His normally tousled curls had been cut shorter, neater, styled in a way that framed his face and somehow made him look even more—God help you—attractive. It was a change you hadn’t been prepared for, and from the silence that briefly passed over the team, you weren’t the only one caught off guard.
Spencer gave a small, almost shy smile at JJ’s reaction before heading to his seat. He settled down on the other side of Hotch, setting his bag on the table.
Hotch barely looked up from his file as he raised an eyebrow and deadpanned, “What, did you join a boyband?”
A small frown creased Spencer’s face. “No,” he replied, the petulant tone in his voice making a few people chuckle.
Conversation quickly resumed, the team diving back into case details as though nothing had happened. But you? You were barely processing a single word.
Your mind was too busy reeling.
Your eyes kept drifting back to Spencer, betraying you as they traced over his new look. The sharpness of his jaw, the way his now-shorter curls curled just slightly at his temples, the way his freshly cut hair made his cheekbones stand out a little more.
This was dangerous. Very dangerous.
Because if you had thought Spencer Reid was cute before, you had no idea how you were going to survive this version of him sitting across the room from you every day.
As expected, Hotch wrapped up the briefing with his usual stern voice. “Wheels up in thirty.”
The room stirred with movement as everyone gathered their files and bags, preparing to head to the jet. You slung your bag over your shoulder, but not before sneaking a few more glances in Spencer’s direction.
Unfortunately, you weren’t as subtle as you thought.
At some point during the meeting, Derek had caught you staring—not once, not twice, but multiple times. And when your eyes met his across the table, he grinned knowingly, amusement flashing in his gaze.
You had felt your face heat instantly and quickly looked away, pretending to be very focused on your files.
Smooth. Real smooth.
You got up, ready to make a quick exit before you could embarrass yourself further, but just as you turned toward the door, Spencer’s voice stopped you.
“Hey—uh, is it okay if I ride with you?”
It was such a simple question. A question he had asked before. Sometimes Spencer drove with Derek, other times he rode with you. It was normal. Casual.
So why did it suddenly feel like the most dangerous thing in the world?
You swallowed, gripping the strap of your bag a little tighter. Your usual response would have been an easy, effortless “Yes. Of course.” But today? Today, you could barely meet his eyes without feeling like your brain short-circuited.
Because he looked that good.
Still, you forced yourself to nod, offering a quick, “Sure.”
You kept your gaze trained on the hallway as you stepped out of the room, hoping that if you avoided looking at him, your heart would stop hammering against your ribs.
Unfortunately for you, Spencer had already fallen into step beside you. You stepped into the elevator together, the metallic doors sliding shut with a soft ding.
A silence settled between you, not entirely uncomfortable, but not the easy kind you were used to with Spencer either.
Out of the corner of your eye, you noticed him tapping his shoe against the floor—a habit you’d picked up on over the years. Spencer only did that when he was nervous.
That surprised you.
He never did that around you.
You and Spencer were close—so close that sometimes it felt like too close. Like the kind of close that made your heart race when he so much as looked at you a certain way. And today, with his new haircut and the way his suit fit just right, that feeling was overwhelming.
Your eyes flickered to the floor, watching his shoe tap against the tile before glancing up at him.
Big mistake.
Because the moment you did, your heart flipped in your chest. He looked so good, and that single thought refused to leave your mind no matter how hard you tried to push it away.
You quickly looked away, biting your lip, hoping he hadn’t noticed your staring.
But of course, he did.
“If it’s a bother,” Spencer suddenly spoke, his voice quiet as the elevator hummed downward. “I can drive with Derek to the airport instead.”
Your stomach twisted at the suggestion. It wasn’t that you didn’t want him in the car with you—it was that you wanted it too much. And now he had clearly picked up on your avoidance, which only made your embarrassment ten times worse.
“No, Spencer,” you said quickly, shaking your head as the elevator dinged again, signaling your arrival. “You’re not a bother at all.”
You barely gave him time to respond before stepping out of the elevator, making a beeline for the parking garage.
Spencer followed closely behind, and even though you weren’t looking at him, you could feel his gaze on you.
You unlocked the car, and Spencer slid into the passenger seat beside you. Normally, by this point, the two of you would already be knee-deep in some random discussion—whether it was a case, a bizarre fact he recently read, or a debate about which movies held up over time.
But right now?
Silence.
Not the comfortable kind. Not the kind that came from years of understanding each other so well that words weren’t always necessary.
This was different.
Spencer was quiet because he sensed something was off. He was a profiler, after all—he could read people better than anyone, and he had definitely picked up on your shift in behavior.
And you? You were silent because you feared that if you opened your mouth, you’d do something completely mortifying. Like stutter over your words. Or say something dumb. Or worse—blurt out the fact that you had spent the entire morning internally spiraling over how ridiculously good he looked today.
Your fingers curled around the steering wheel, your gaze fixed ahead.
Beside you, Spencer set his bag down at his feet, shifting slightly in his seat. You could feel the weight of his stare even without looking at him.
“I’m sorry, Spencer,” you said suddenly, staring straight ahead. “I promise there’s nothing wrong. I guess I’m just… off today.” You exhaled, fingers tapping absently against the wheel. The last thing you wanted was for him to think he wasn’t welcome here. “And I am happy to drive us to the airport.”
Spencer was quiet for a moment, but then, in a soft voice, he asked, “Do… do you want to talk about it?”
You swallowed hard, pulling out of the parking lot. The road stretched ahead, but your mind was a tangled mess of thoughts, each one worse than the last.
What were you supposed to say?
Oh hey, Spencer, funny thing—I literally cannot look at you right now because you’re so insanely attractive that I might actually die on the spot?
Yeah. Probably not the best thing to say to a coworker—and more importantly, to the friend you’d been secretly crushing on for longer than you cared to admit.
So instead, you shook your head, offering the safest response you could manage.
“No, it’s nothing.”
You weren’t sure if he believed you. But for now, he didn’t push.
The drive to the airport was short, but thankfully, Spencer had started talking about the case almost immediately. You were relieved—you could focus on the conversation instead of the way your heart kept stupidly skipping beats.
Plus, driving gave you an excuse to not meet his eyes.
That was the problem, wasn’t it? His eyes.
Warm and intelligent, always analyzing, always seeing you in ways that made you feel exposed. So, you kept your attention on the road, discussing victim profiles and behavioral patterns.
Before you knew it, you were pulling into the airport lot.
You parked carefully, turning off the engine as the conversation about the case trailed off. Both of you got out, grabbing your bags before heading toward the jet.
It wasn’t until you were walking side by side—no distractions, no case details to focus on—that Spencer suddenly asked, “What do you think of…” He hesitated. “My haircut?”
You froze for half a second, your grip tightening on the strap of your go-bag.
Oh.
Oh, no.
You hadn’t been prepared for that.
“Uhm—” You stuttered, caught completely off guard, your brain scrambling for a normal, casual response.
You walked slower, suddenly hyperaware of his presence beside you. Spencer matched your steps, his hands tucked into his pockets as he glanced at you, waiting.
Finally, you swallowed and forced yourself to speak. “It looks great,” you said softly. “I like it.”
Spencer tilted his head slightly, watching you. “Yeah?” His lips curved into a small, pleased smile.
“Yeah,” you nodded, willing yourself to keep it together.
But then—because the universe apparently wanted you to suffer—your mouth betrayed you.
“I mean, it makes you look…” You trailed off, but Spencer was still watching you, waiting for you to finish, and oh god, you were already in too deep. You cleared your throat. “Really handsome.”
Spencer blinked.
Your stomach dropped.
You hadn’t meant to say that out loud.
Heat immediately crept up your neck, and you snapped your gaze forward, walking faster in hopes of escaping your own embarrassment. But Spencer—being Spencer—was too damn observant for his own good.
His eyes widened slightly, something clicking in his mind. His posture straightened, his brows lifting ever so slightly as realization dawned.
“That’s why you’ve been avoiding my eyes.”
It wasn’t a question.
Your breath hitched.
“No, no,” you said quickly, shaking your head as you picked up your pace, the jet now in sight. If you just got inside, if you just sat down and pretended this conversation never happened, maybe—maybe—you could salvage what was left of your dignity.
But Spencer wasn’t letting it go that easily.
“Wait—” He reached for your wrist, his touch light but enough to stop you in your tracks.
You swallowed hard.
Slowly, reluctantly, you turned to face him, keeping your eyes trained somewhere near his shoulder instead of his face.
Spencer let out a soft breath, studying you. “So… I was right?”
Your lips parted slightly, but no words came out. Your heart was pounding.
“About you avoiding my eyes,” he clarified, his voice softer now, more careful.
You exhaled sharply, forcing a nervous laugh as you rubbed the back of your neck. “I—no, I just—” You sighed, giving up mid-sentence. Lying to Spencer Reid was pointless. He could probably read you better than you could.
His fingers twitched at his side, like he was debating whether or not to reach for you again. Instead, he tilted his head, his eyes flickering across your face, searching for something. “You think I look… handsome?”
You groaned, shutting your eyes for a brief moment before opening them again. “Spencer, please.”
But he wasn’t teasing. He wasn’t smug. He looked genuinely curious.
And that—somehow—was worse.
You sighed, shoulders slumping in defeat. “Yes, okay? I think you look… really good.” You avoided his gaze, focusing on a spot over his shoulder. “Too good, actually, which is kind of annoying because it makes it really hard to—” You stopped yourself before you could say concentrate at work like a normal human being, realizing how that sounded.
Spencer’s lips parted slightly, as if surprised by your admission. But then, slowly, his mouth curved into a small smile.
Not a smirk, not teasing—just… soft.
Warm.
And something about that undid you a little.
“I didn’t think you noticed things like that about me,” he admitted quietly.
Your eyes snapped to his.
Was he serious?
You let out a disbelieving laugh, shaking your head. “Spencer, are you kidding? Of course I notice things like that about you.”
His smile faltered just slightly, a flicker of something vulnerable crossing his face before he looked down, like he was processing that.
The jet door opened in the distance, voices echoing faintly from inside, but neither of you moved.
Then, after a long moment, Spencer glanced back up at you.
“I think you look really good all the time,” he said simply.
Your breath caught.
Before you could respond, a voice called out from the jet—Derek, naturally. “You two coming or what?”
You cleared your throat, tearing your gaze away from Spencer’s as you took a step toward the jet. “Yeah, coming!” you called back, trying to keep your voice steady.
Spencer fell into step beside you, hands in his pockets, but his small smile remained.
And as you both climbed the steps to the jet, you couldn’t help but think that maybe—just maybe—this conversation wasn’t over yet.

To be honest. DCxDP where the reason Danny meets the bats is Ace the Bat-hound
Like, just think about it for a second. Danny is in Gotham for college, or maybe he just moved out to find a city where having mad scientist parents isn’t actually that unusual.
He can see ghosts.
The ghosts know this.
Now he’s getting harassed left and right by spirits trying to get closure. Fine, whatever, most of them are a one-and-done type deal, and the amount of ghosts trying to get his help steadily decreases.
Except for this one very stubborn dog.
It just keeps showing up and leading him to crime scenes! He doesn’t know how many “anonymous tips” he can call in to the cops before they trace his phone! And this dog, this incredibly good boy, will not stop trying to help the city. He’s never met anyone with such a strong sense of justice, let alone a dog. Can dogs even have a moral compass?
And so Danny just accepts the fact that Ace isn’t going anywhere and becomes his reluctant sidekick/dedicated medium. He leans into the whole thing, dressing up in a mix of traditional magic-user attire and accessories that pay homage to the ghost dog.
He becomes somewhat well known. The psychopomp detective following around the shadowy figure of a German Shepard? That’s unusual! That’s weird! I mean, it’s not the weirdest thing in Gotham, sure, but he’s a new vigilante and he’s got a ghost dog that people can only see when it’s around him. Someone’s gonna notice.
Damian, as Robin, is the first to reach out to him.
Ace doesn’t know Damian but he does know a Robin, and while this isn’t his Robin, he’s still friendlier than usual. Danny’s panicking because oh god the bats are here and also is this kid gonna steal my ghost dog, Damian is absolutely delighted by Ace, and Ace is just happy to see a Robin again.
Damian decides that the psychopomp isn’t a danger to anyone, and there’s no reason to put this encounter into his reports, really, and perhaps Danny can help with some of his cases in the future.
Danny is sweating bullets because Damian basically tells him that he’ll keep him secret as long as he gets to play with Ace. Ace is happy that he’s finally getting some bat affiliated crime-fighting assistance.
And so, Danny is now both Ace AND Damian’s reluctant assistant. At least whenever he’s in trouble, he can always call a middle schooler to help him.
(Is Robin even in school? He’s out patrolling damn near every night, and he stays out late as hell. Does he have a bedtime? He should.)
Eventually it gets to the point where Damian is going over to Danny’s house. When he first sees it, he has a damn bitch you live like this moment, to which Danny responds that not everyone has the money to afford a nice place. Damian counters that he could at least take the time to clean up, and Danny replies that he’s working, going to school, and being a vigilante assistant to a ghost dog, something’s got to give.
Danny nearly has a heart attack when he checks his bank account the next day and sees that someone transferred him 10,000 dollars.
And so they get into a routine. Danny and Damian fight crime with Ace at night, and occasionally Damian stops by during the day to play with Ace and have Danny help with his homework.
(Damian is smart enough to do it on his own, but some of the instructions are written incredibly confusingly, and he would never admit to needing help to his family. Danny is just glad that the kid is in school and cares about his education, blissfully unaware that he’s basically emotionally adopted him.)
Damian is used to being in Danny’s company.
Eventually, when going over a case with the family, Damian absentmindedly remarks that he’ll have to ask Danny about some of the clues that they might be missing. Nightwing asks who he means and Damian makes a face like he just swallowed a lemon.
Cue shitstorm.
Who is “Danny?” Why is Damian willing to ask for help from anyone, much less someone outside of the family? Does he know who Damian is? Has Damian been compromised? What the hell is going on?
Damian now has to explain that Danny is the psychopomp with the ghost dog who he might have met hunted down while on patrol and conveniently not mentioned, but he’s not a bad person, really, and he lets him play with Ace, and he’s been quite helpful on certain cases due to his ability to talk to ghosts.
Bruce insists that the family meet Danny. Damian, hoping that he won’t just skip town the second he hears the news, relents.
Danny is surprisingly eager to meet the bats, considering his earlier fears.
Damian, blissfully unaware of what’s coming, sets a time and place to meet.
Once everyone is there, he gives Bruce the earful of a lifetime.
Robin is in middle school! Danny knows that there’s no way to stop the boy from going on patrol, but you could at least shift his schedule so he gets enough sleep on school nights! Does the Bat even know where he is half the time?! (No) And why isn’t he comfortable asking his family for help with both cases and homework? Did they ever even notice how much time he was spending at Danny’s house? If Danny was a bad person, he could have seriously hurt the poor boy! Shame on you!
Nightwing is mortified that Damian didn’t trust him enough to tell him about any of this. Red Hood is laughing his ass off, because yeah Danny is making good points but he’s also chewing out the literal Batman. Tim is recording the whole thing. Steph is delighted by the absolute gall of this Danger Twink™️, and already planning to add him to several groupchats. Damian is more embarrassed than he’s ever been in his entire life.
You, he points to Nightwing, did your academic life feel supported when you were a Robin? Nightwing is too stunned to speak. Red Hood, eternal shit-stirrer, says that oh, we all prioritized patrol over our education, that’s just how it is. Red Robin actually dropped out of high school to avoid distractions, did you know that?
Danny honest-to-god shrieks at this.
He finishes his angry rant and leaves, everyone too stunned to stop him.
And as it turns out, Tim wasn’t the only person recording the whole thing.
The entire internet is blowing up with Psychopomp The Danger Twink™️’s rant. People are taking sides. Things are getting messy. Red Hood literally admitting on-camera to previously being a Robin is somehow not the main focus here.
Eventually someone connects some dots from the video, as well as stories circling the internet about the psychopomp. A ghost dog named Ace, who is the literal only reason that the psychopomp is fighting crime at all, which seems incredibly fond of Nightwing and Robin.
A crime-fighting dog who wants constant attention from both the current and original Robin.
Oh my god, Ace the Bat-hound died and became a crime-fighting ghost.
And, somehow, that’s still not the strangest thing going on in Gotham.
