also finished summer strike today and i generally liked it bc i am a big fan of small community/found family stuff and i really really liked everyone in the main cast

i thought it was a bit misleading though, cause we see how she has left her life and moved to a town to start a new/from scratch but we see that only in the first couple of eps. and then yeoreum goes day to day which is also completely ok but why have a murder plotline...i suspect it might be because they thought plot would be too plain otherwise but i genuinely liked all the eps wth her navigating things, setting budgets, drinking and doing fuckall at the library

im siwan's character was also very nice but i wish he was more fleshed out, the end with his father i wish it was something they showed more. im siwan ily regardless

i wish they would've also shown yeoreum dealing with her grief outside of the first ep as well

also it was ridiculous when they took to solving murder on their own wtf....that was um not rooted in reality i think and woo youngwoo did this and one more drama but I can't remember, why are these dramas obsessed with 'hinting' aka presenting as evil/villain/murderer that people on the spectrum could be the killer but ofc they're not fuck off with this rhetoric i cannot deal shit anymore

outside of the last ep aka revealing of the killer, i liked it and the time i spent with it <3

amazed to see how every mention on ep 10 online is abt the romance thats abt 40% of the episode when i just felt so off about the case the entire time. i was annoyed that no one treated ffs with agency. she has a disability but she also has the mental age of someone who is 13 which means she is definitely capable enough to communicate her own needs. im also annoyed about her over bearing mother who also does not let her speak. i get that this reflects the realities of a lot of people with disabilities but every time someone talks over a disabled person i get progressively angrier.

Junho is in sad boi hours thinking about Youngwoo and drinking himself into a stupor and goes to reach for another bottle but in swoops Minwoo and he’s not on screen but it says a lot about their friendship and them individually and how he grabs the bottle, gently tugging it out of Junho’s hands and Junho lets him… one bc he’s in sad boi hours too busy thinking about Youngwoo but also some part of his brain is prolly like “yeah I should probably let Minwoo take the bottle away”, and no matter how much I disagree with Minwoo’s behaviour and attitude towards Youngwoo, he at the bare minimum isn’t about to let his friend get black out drunk…

Ofc he then follows it up by being about to spill some BS about Youngwoo being born with a silver spoon in her mouth that she didn’t even know about until very recently and/or her being autistic…and that would have somehow inherently doomed Junho and Youngwoo’s relationship which negates any positive points I just said about the guy…

EXACTLY!! junho wasn’t toxic for that nor was youngwoo for not realizing they were dating. what was he supposed to do? go on those dates forever? he was sulking like an abandoned puppy whose owner wasn’t paying attention. he was so sad that she didn’t engage with him at the arcade (she didn’t even speak djsjdjdjd) and the whole picking up trash. obviously lee junho is a romantic through and through if she would have just acknowledged his presence he probably wouldn’t be as hurt. plus to make things worse youngwoo told them after all that (kissing, a million + one dates, multiple confessions) that they STILL were not together. that it wasn’t official. he has a short temper so ofc he lashed out (but note, he wasn’t even mean or harsh. he was just honest and confused and hurt but even when youngwoo was like ‘excuse me you don’t think those are fun 😮 ‘ he was like ‘no not really but i would gladly do it because i like you’). how many people have belittled junho’s feeling or told him they weren’t real…and then youngwoo very unintentionally did the same exact thing. it’s good he didn’t bottle it up any longer

Like how would that work with Kang tae oh needing to be in the military? Lowkey worried for the last 2 eps bc I couldn't cope if they kept them broken up and wrote junho off 😞😐

kang tae oh enlists next month (i think) and will get out in roughly two years! so they could realistically still do EAW in 2024!! it’ll be a tight squeeze and we all have to hope that park eun bin + the rest of the cast will be free too!! the president of the company seems to really want the cast to stay the same which…is a good thing to hear! most mentions of season often bring in talks of recasting right off the bat. unless something happens and this project gets shelved (please noooo) EAW will be back late 2024/early 2025 🥰

and yup yup yup!! these last two episodes has me worried SO much. they waited a YEAR for park eun bin!! if they really wanted to the could do season 2 next year just to strike while the iron is hot but they didn’t. but…BUT if season 1 ends with them still broken up it’s gonna be so frustrating 😭 would rather they leave a case or something with taesumi or something else on a cliffhanger than junho/youngwoo!! and OFC ATTY.
