Hiya! I'd like to ask how do you do your ms paint art? Do you first make the outlines and then colours, or perhaps vice versa? I really adore your ms paint art and would love to know the process (for practice purposes:))

Depends! My two strategies, featuring Cactus Gunman of Gregory Horror Show fame:

I often just color right on top of my sketches when I'm being silly + designing characters + just trying to figure out what something looks like (and tend to use this to fiddle with details and colors) It's usually quicker for me to end up with something that I'm happy with.

Most of the time when I bother to do separate, cleaner line art, it's because I'm making a graphic for my website. LOL. I think it feels a little more cartoonish-silly, which is usually what I'm going for when I decide to do this. It's also a bit harder to make large changes to whatever I'm drawing, so I'm usually working off of a messier thing I've already made.

(Technically, I no longer use MS Paint and instead use Aseprite due to becoming a Linux user, but nothing has really changed about the way I draw + all of this can be done in MS Paint just fine.)

#I've found that I actually have a harder time making color palettes in Aseprite than MS Paint (I used to use the marker tool to mix colors)#(and haven't yet found out an equivalent tool to mix colors together)#Anyway the only feature that I use regularly in Aseprite that MS Paint doesn't ''have'' is easy transformation controls #(Paint has transformation options in the skew/scale menu but not every computer supports the trick I used to use to rotate stuff)#Also you can animate in Aseprite. There's layers but I don't use them.#beebfreeb art tag #funny talking tag #This was probably a little more talking than you expected but I am very particular about these sorts of things.#Anyway I am so mad about how my favorite version of MS Paint has absolutely no Wine support and that everything that I've looked up said:#''Just use a different program'' With different features? #ffxiv #sketch #zenos yae galvus #adventurer zenos #durante #zero #local man learns how to feel again... and is regretting it immensely-#as his old habits of “ignore” or “shut down” dont work that well anymore #because #at least from what I've personally looked into #unironically zenos' method of reaper contract was the smartest way to go about- he wouldnt have had the context that they used to be people #but I also write Zenos with the thought that he would abhor becoming anything like Varis-#and I dont think he'd like being directly responsible for turning another person into a weapon or a tool like how he was- intentional or no #and I think its just a neat point of tension between adventurer zenos and zero #and it just ends feeding into what I write one of his main hurdles being #his resignation that he may never change- or that he isnt worth compassion because of the circumstances he grew up in #and him being so ready to take blame and resign the possibility of apologizing because (given context) i dont doubt #that Varis had constantly blamed him for Carosa's death #and it also just gives me a bit of reasoning why him being called a monster (specifically thinking of the scene with Krile) sets him off #I also just like the idea of Durante taking him in as a hesitant mentor and accidently bonding with him- even beyond the theories I have #(and this is totally me being biased because I ADORE durante as a character)#but I think helping Zenos and the way Zenos and Wol would later interact with each other would give him a measure of peace #of being able to guide someone and be there for someone like it seemed golbez was for him #I also think zenos deserves at least one warm fatherly hug #and who better than the strange old ass voidsent who could honestly probably rotate him any moment his guard is down

They really deformed testament’s face in some frames of their win animation btw

#in some frames they squish the other side of their face. and some other odd stuff. i just like this 1 in particular #in a few frames that are in profile you can see their teeth and to make it more visible they just like #rotated their teeth inside their head. so its vertical. and it worked but its a little scary #i am playing with free cam… you cant pause the game during win animations so i have to use the tool’s pause.#its a little annoying. i have to go through a match every time i want to see a new frame. its not a true pause just a freeze i guess #also sorry theyre like luminescent here #the kat goes meow

#bandit's doodles #grian #mumbo jumbo #waffle duo #new au #ratatouille waffle duo au #remy Grian and red haired guy Mumbo #thoughts?#the website itself was fine #it had that color selection square which was great #cool brushes #the selection tool was a little odd but it worked so that’s something #there was no eraser again #not that I could find anyway #and trust me I looked long and hard #I just used white over things #but jeepers #the crashing #every time I tried to change the brush size or the opacity #or used the selection tool to rotate or move anything #it crashed #and when it crashed it like froze #and the only way I got out of it was by reloading the website #or closing the tab completely #which clears the canvas #so the first doodle was actually it’s 5th iteration #3/10 including the lag #there’s a chance it was me though #so excluding the lag 6/10 #I’m feeling generous I think

Brainstorming With The Girls is actually the most powerful writing tool bc I might have just solved a problem I've been struggling with in my WIP for MONTHS by talking to my sister about it for five minutes
