[BSTS] Taiga Crane Game 4* Card Story
ran pov
chapter 1 -game centre-
saki: (Unei-san told me that a cast member had left a message that they’d like me to meet them here…)
taiga: Looks like they’ve installed a new action controller over there… Hweheh, it was worth coming to the first day of play testing. Next I’ll try a different combination of attacks~….
-saki walks over to him-
saki: Taiga-san, sorry for making you wait.
taiga: Saki-san…? Wasn’t expecting to see you here, what a coincidence.
saki: Coincidence…? You mean you weren’t the one that left that message asking for me to come here?
taiga: Message? Nope, that wasn’t—
-ran appears-
ran: It was me, me! I’m the one who left it! I was the one who called ya out here, Nee-chan. Actually, why are ya even here Taiga? Are ya bein’ all clingy actin’ like you’re her boyfriend or somethin’?
taiga: Scary, he just picked a fight with me as easily as he breathed. I’m here because an arcade version of a mobile game I play just came out, that’s all.
saki: So you play arcade games as well as phone games, Taiga-san?
taiga: Yeah, I guess. I play a bit of everything really. Despite being the same game there’s different skills in the arcade version compared to the mobile version… Like the cabinet that’s being play tested here for example has a rare special skill that’s only available in the arcade version. But well, if there’s anything about game’s you want to know more about just let me know.
saki: You sure know a lot, Taiga-san. It’s reassuring having you here.
ran: When ya played that fightin’ game way back I remember that ya lost hopelessly though~!*
taiga: That’s because my opponent was an anomaly.
ran: Oh really~? Makin’ excuses is lame ya know.
taiga: I mean, if you had been my opponent I definitely wouldn’t have lost.
ran: What was that just now? I don’t think I heard ya correctly?
taiga: I said that if it were a match between you and me, my victory would be guaranteed. My experience level is simply that much higher than yours.
ran: Damn you’re really talkin’ yourself up, aren’t ya? A match that uneven wouldn’t be fun at all! If ya wanna go then let’s have a crane game showdown!
taiga: Huh? I mean that’s fine too, but why the crane games?
ran: I have some tricks up my sleeve too.
taiga: Well whatever it is there’s no way in hell I’m losing.
saki: (It suddenly became a competition…)
ran: I’m definitely gonna take out the win, so make sure ya watch me, Nee-chan!
taiga: Is it not obvious that I’m gonna win? Saki-san can be our witness then.
saki: Umm… Then, Ran-san, Taiga-san, do your best!
(*note: I think they’re referring to the trick or truth event story where taiga lost to gui in a fighting game)
-
chapter 2 -game centre-
taiga: When it comes to games there’s no way I’m gonna lose. I’ll show Ran that I can win this contest.
saki: Good luck!
taiga: My first target will be those boxes of sweets. It’s the most suitable for working out the specifics of how the crane’s arm and claw works. It’s an important factor you need to check.
saki: Those look like they’d be really hard to pick up… The box is smooth so it would slip easily.
taiga: That’s exactly why I’m going for them. Ah well, you’ll understand in a minute. Watch closely now.
-taiga starts playing the crane game-
taiga: Let’s see, for the horizontal placement… about there should be good. And then then… about that far back. Perfect. Go, Crane-chan!
-cg
taiga: Heck yeah!
saki: Yay, it picked the box up! Ah, but it looks like it might fall!
taiga: Don’t worry, this is all according to plan.
saki: It slipped out…? Amazing, you really did get it!
taiga: The centre of gravity on these kinds of boxes is right in the middle. However, if you position the claw in a way that’s slightly off centre, then they’ll slip and fall right into the prize collection shoot as you saw. Well, this is just scratching the surface of kinds of the techniques you can use. Here, you can take the prize.
saki: Thank you. I’m happy to receive a gift from you.
taiga: …….
taiga: I think I’ll try this machine again.
saki: Hm? Are you sure?
taiga: Yeah, it’s easy mode. It’s always convenient having some snacks around. I can munch on them whilst messing around on my computer… By the way, is there a specific kind that you want in there?
-time pass-
saki: Woah, you’ve won so many! You really are great at this. I wonder how your competition with Ran-san will pan out?
taiga: Competition…? Oh right, that was a thing. He started it didn’t he? At first I just didn’t want to lose to Ran, but then I started thinking that as long as you’re enjoying yourself then I’m a winner either way.

[12:30 A.M.]
kagami taiga is awful at watching movies.
you could never say it to his face though because — my god, your kagami being bad at something? impossible.
but there he is, lounging on the couch with one leg up resting against the arm rest and and arm behind his head, propping himself in a comfortable position facing the t.v., softly snoring as not even the halfway point of the movie plays in front of you.
not even the glare from the t.v. during scenes of drastic lighting change affect the man who doesn’t even budge.
“i saw that coming,” you muse quietly, reaching over to rake your fingers through the redhead’s hair. you smile at the fact that unconsciously, he leans up into your hand slightly, though makes no move to open his eyes.
“you’re the one who wanted to watch this,” you continue softly. to who? maybe kagami if he’s half awake, or otherwise, the t.v. screen playing something that may be important to the plot of the movie. but you don’t mind not paying attention.
not when you’re looking at a relaxed kagami.
the man’s eyebrows seemed to be always furrowed until the moment he falls asleep (or look at you as his team likes to tease) where all the muscles in his face relax, leaving him look rather peaceful.
you're sitting cross legged with a blanket laying over you - you were always the cold one while kagami was always warm. let's just say, cuddling sessions were equally beneficial.
you scoot closer to him, moving your hand from atop his head, in his red locks, onto his face. with delicacy, you trace along his sculpted bones, lighting passing his brows, down his nose, to his cheek bones, and then to his jaw.
he hums groggily when you reach the ticklish spot on his jaw below his ear. you retract your hand away, worried that you might've woke him up. you wait for a few seconds for him to stir or mumble something but he never does. he continues to lightly snore, occasionally twitching his nose.
you place your hand back in your lap and return your attention back to the t.v. with a slightly confused expression, you attempt to guess what happened prior when you weren't paying attention, using context clues.
well, at least i'll finish the movie, you think with a knowing smirk, briefly glancing over at your boyfriend.
after a few moments, you find yourself lost in the plot, staring blankly at the screen.
with a huff, you turn to the sleeping man. "i blame you for me being confused."
when you turn back to the t.v., you don't expect a response.
"'s not my fault you'd much rather stare at me than the movie."
you laugh out a gasp, swatting your supposedly sleeping boyfriend's arm. "i thought you were sleeping!"
"i was- ow! don't swat me," kagami opens his eyes, gripping your wrist gently. at your smile, he can't help but mirror your expression, pulling you closer.
"what are you doing-!" your question gets caught in your throat, when you pressed flush against his chest and his arms snake around your mid-back.
"going back to bed," he murmurs against your hair, closing his eyes once more.
"but the movie, tai," you mumble, glancing at the t.v. still on. the heaviness of your eyelids tell you you shouldn't really protest much.
"we'll try again tomorrow night," he hums before pecking your head. "go to bed."
and who were you to refuse when you were wrapped in the heater that was kagami taiga? the most relaxed man whenever he was around you.

“you’re so fun to talk to.” u know who
drabble: when aomine and kagami are trying to study, kagami finds something out about his boyfriend’s hobbies and is about as annoying as he possibly could be about it. they’re really stupid in this :) word count: 1967
it is a well established fact that logic is not a universal language, spoken by one and understood by all. a correct statement may be reached through an infinite variety of patterns of correct statements made in just the right order to conclude with the right answer. more or less. but there's beauty in the way that different people can come to the same conclusion. some can eliminate obstacles with lightning fast deductions, made faster than the individual can keep up with. some talk through their thinking even if there's no one to hear it, because their thoughts become more tangible when spoken aloud. others take a scenic route, using their senses and past experiences to bring to life the problem at hand. usually, people approach different problems with different methods.
kagami taiga's own brand of logic is colourful. he remembers things if they're attached to a sense, which is why the minute details of learning a language are lost on him, and why nothing ever sticks in history class. the teacher is a real downer and delivers everything straight from the text book without any real world, practical application! how is he supposed to remember anything if he's taught like that? and it's on that topic that this afternoon relates to. homework. more specifically, kagami and his boyfriend are studying together under oath that they will not go out to play basketball until they have finished at least question 5. and momoi made him promise. aomine promised too but he's thrown his book on the other side of the room, or got up to get snacks from the kitchen, or demanded that kagami pay attention to him all in the space of the hour they'd been sitting down.
kagami hates tests, and he hates having to remember useless details about things that will never affect him. so he’s making links in his mind to the most important dates to help him remember. some get attached to the amount of reps he’d lift this week ( 3 sets of 16: 16:03. 1603. ) or, for some reason, flexing his fingers to count out the year helped earlier with 1615: he extended his index finger, then thumb, then index, then all five fingers. he won’t do that with any other dates in case he gets confused, but that’s pretty good, right?
“we’re both just gonna play basketball forever, right?” aomine whines, chucking his book across the sofa. “why the fuck do i have to learn all this shitty math stuff?”
“doesn’t midorima use math in his basketball?” kagami muses disinterestedly, never looking away from his own book. there’s no reason kagami thinks this besides that he knows midorima is smart, and a dork, so it just makes sense. kagami lowers his voice and holds his hand up to the bridge of his nose, where glasses might be. “i must calculate the arc of my... trajectory... to...”
“yeah,” aomine replies flatly, unimpressed at the frankly scarily good impersonation. "what do i care if he does? i use raw instinct, baby.”
kinda embarrassing not being able to go to a game cuz you fail this class, though,” and now kagami glances up to see aomine glaring hotly at him, and does some quick damage control. “like me! jeez. don’t look at me like that. you think i like doing homework either? my head hurts.”
“you should take a break.”
“no, i’m only on question 3 now.”
“hurry up, history isn’t hard.”
kagami grunts and returns to his studies. a few minutes later, he’s googling to see if this is a name or a word he just doesn’t recognise. it’s a name. ugh. he writes the name down twenty times to get each stroke right. it doesn’t look right. his handwriting is so shitty. he glances over to aomine’s and it’s messy but it has charm to it. kagami’s is literally just illegible. his english handwriting is a little better, at least he has that to fall back on! hey... what aomine’s writing isn’t math! it’s... the events of the day? that they went shopping earlier and are now confined to the humbly dressed penthouse apartment of his boyfriend. hey! who are you calling humbly dressed? kagami reaches across the table to point at aomine’s paper.
“that ain’t math!”
“mind your own business,” aomine scrambles to flip the page. kagami isn’t interested enough to debate it and gets back to his own work, then comes up with a retort.
“it’s my business if i’m finished with this test paper and you’re still two questions behind.”
“i have my methods.”
“okay but you’re supposed to be doing math, and writing in your diary can’t possibly help with that.”
“it ain’t a diary,” aomine scrunches his nose in disgust, “shut the hell up.”
his weak defences aren’t interesting enough for kagami to push against. so the guy’s got a diary, who cares? he’s staring at him as he decides whether or not to pursue the diary thing. aomine stares back at him. squints. kagami squints right back! aomine’s chin tilts upwards. he’s trying to cover being embarrassed about it by acting like he’s not. that’s fair enough. kagami exhales a breathy chuckle and breaks off their glare game.
“jeez. i don’t care if you have a diary, dude. i only care if i can’t play you next tournament ‘cuz your dumb ass failed all his classes.” but then something occurs to him to bring his attention back. his eyes half close tauntingly, a shitty smile pulling at his mouth. “you write about how much you love me?”
“as if!”
wrong answer! kagami, deciding that he doesn’t care if his idiot boyfriend passes his tests anymore, chucks his textbook off his lap and lets it fall in a loud heap on the floor. one hand on the back of the couch, he moves closer. “you already told me i give you butterflies.”
“don’t use that against me, you douchebag.” aomine shoves his diary behind his back, as if that’s a good enough defence?! kagami doesn’t even want to read it -- isn’t convinced he could read the guy’s charming handwriting. he has simply chosen violence. “i didn’t even say it like that, anyway!”
“dear diary,” kagami lowers his voice and continues his slow approach across his sofa, “taiga kissed me today, been on cloud nine ever since.”
“i hate you right now.”
“dear diary, i love tits.”
“wait, you read it already?”
kagami laughs. derailed! he’s supposed to be the one joking around here! aomine repositions so that his back is against the armrest, diary sandwiched between, with his knees up. you big baby! he really thinks kagami’s gonna steal the book? it kind of makes him want to but not enough to piss him off about it. aomine’s watching him carefully, sussing him out. kagami kneels, sinking into the couch cushions.
“i don’t wanna read your diary, daiki. put it on the ground a second.”
“how stupid do you think i am?”
“if i wanted it, i would’a already got it!”
“oh, you think you’re a big man, huh? you can just take what you want?”
“is that a challenge?” he puts his hand on aomine’s knee and shoves it. “get these outta my way, i’m tryin’a make a move on you.”
“oho, are you serious? sure, let me just let down my guard and--” kagami interrupts him by pushing his knees down, and then immediately climbing on top. aomine straightens his legs out and slides further down the couch. “you were serious.”
“do you write about me?” kagami positions his hands on the sofa deliberately away from aomine’s stupid book. he’s actually not going to steal it, yet the guy still has his hands tucked under his back to protect it. “if you’ve got something to say to me,” he lowers to kiss aomine’s jaw. “you should say it to my face.”
“your mind is too little to comprehend it.”
kagami pulls up. “do you wanna get outta my house?”
“you’ll say it’s stupid, so why waste my breath trying to explain myself?”
“daikiiii,” he’s smiling as he drops down again to hold his hand against aomine’s cheek and kiss the other side. “i think you’re stupid if you tell me or not.”
“you’re so fun to talk to.”
“i’m kidding, baby,” said more as an insult than a term of endearment, mind you. “don’t tell me, then.” here’s a kiss to prove he doesn’t care about the diary, here’s one because he feels like it, and here’s another just because.
“you really wanna know?”
“no,”
“it ain’t a diary,” aomine pulls his hands out from under his back. the book is in his grasp, but it isn’t directly offered, either. kagami only glances at it. “it’s for my memoirs.”
“your memoirs?”
“see-- that’s why i didn’t tell you. get off me, fatass.”
“no, i mean, i’m just surprised! i never met anyone writing that kind of thing before.”
“i knew you wouldn’t get it.”
kagami lifts himself off aomine but doesn’t go far. “that’s cool, so you’ll write about basketball and stuff?”
aomine doesn’t reply, he just sits himself up and stares at the pale blue notebook grasped in both hands. kagami’s expecting him to say something, maybe explain himself, but he doesn’t. he just sits there. kagami leans closer.
“would you lighten up? i said it’s cool, right? why would i think that’s stupid? and you shouldn’t care what i think about it, anyway, if that’s what you wanna do.”
“save the lecture,” aomine looks like he’s cheering up!
“i was thinkin’ you’d wanna make notes,”
aaaand there’s a deadpan. he retrieves his pen from between couch cushions and opens his notebook, vigorously writing something. peering over his shoulder, kagami reads: dear diary, my boyfriend is a jackass. as if to prove a point, kagami shoves him.
“hey! come on, give me a break. i think you’ll be a best-seller. you’ll be able to tell people what it’s like growing up as a prodigy. i mean, i wasn’t always strong,” kagami sits back in his seat, “but it sure gets lonely once you surpass your rivals.”
“not always,” aomine replies quietly, “some people never know when to call it quits.”
before he actually thinks it through, kagami’s brows raise in question. who could he be talking about? aomine, who had been looking at him in a sideways glance, now turns his head to display the full effect of a disapproving frown. oh! right. him. there are a few other guys who pop into kagami’s mind, but who the hell needs them? he snorts.
“oh, yeah. count on that, buddy. i’m gonna be here for every chapter.”
“that was so cheesy,” aomine drops his notebook and pen on the floor ( with a little more care than kagami did earlier with his text books ). next, he pushes against kagami so that he lies down the other end of the couch, and soon enough, aomine’s climbing on top. “i’m gonna make you pay for the dear diary comments.”
“i’m so scared.”
that earns an eyeroll, and maybe that’s fair. he wraps his arms around aomine’s waist nonetheless, and smiles as he’s kissed. if someone would’ve told him a year ago that he’d be making out with a powerful rival--- actually, that sounds pretty predictable. but this one, of all people? kagami used to think he was the most annoying, loud-mouthed bastard he’s ever met! and--- again, that’s still his opinion. he’s just come to accept all that. ah, his thoughts make him break the kiss with a bigger smile. it’s all bullshit.
“you know i think you’re the coolest guy i know, right?”
“you know i know it,”
“shut up, daiki.”
and for a few minutes, aomine does shut up.
#aonon.#drabbles.#answered.#okay i FINALLY finished this#i was gonna make it sweet abt the prompt and then. well. i remembered who i was writing for :(#anyway this is stupid as HELLLLLL#and longer than i meant it to be#as always#icons are SOOO MUCH FUNNNN#definitely gives off the vibes of rping w/ myself but also ? im living out here young wild and free

Kuroko - Kagami x ? Part 2
k- "This is Himuro Tatsuya, my childhood bestfriend."
All of them were stunned. They had heard of Kagami having a friend when he was little. They even knew he still wore the ring around his neck because of him. But he had never told his team mates his name.
h- "Hi, it's nice to meet you all. You guys must be Taigas team mates." Huyuga was the first one to recover from the shock and said
hu- "W-well it's nice to meet you. I'm Junpei Huyga, Kagami's upper classmen. We have heard a lot about you."
h- "Oh, you have. Looks like Taiga talks about me a lot, huh."
k- "NO I DON'T! I just mentioned you a couple of times." he said as his cheeks started blushing.
h- "I was just kidding Taiga." he said as he chuckled and rubbed a hand over Kagami's cheek. Kagami blushed even more. The team and Aomine noticed this and were still so shocked.
Kagami was very passionate about his relationship with Kuroko. He had had his fair share of girls and boys try to get with him and he turned them all down. So to even just let another person besides Kuroko to touch him so intimately was shocking.
k- "Himuro, what are you even doing here? I thought you were supposed to be in the U.S?"
h- "Well I was but then I decided to come to Japan." he said as he moved his hand from his cheek to his hair and rubbing it gently.
k- "But why? Is there something important here for you to be here"
h- "What, you don't want me to be here?" he said making a fake sad face.
k- "NO,no no. I want you to be here I just!!"he said in a panic and Himuro just laughed a little.
h- "hahaha! Calm down, I'm just teasing you. I actually came here because I got an offer to be on a team. I just happen to find out that you went to this school and decided to drop by and see my bunny again." Kagami got all red again.
k- "I TOLD YOU TO STOP CALLING ME THAT!!!" he went over to Aonime who was looking so shocked and to the ball that he had in his hands and through it at Himuro.
h- "HAHAHA!!! I was just kidding Taiga!" he said as he doged the ball"
k-" Whatever! What team did you get into?"
h- "I got into Yosen High."
k- "Wow. Of course you would get accepted into the school that your boyfriend goes to."Now the team and Aomine were surprised again. They did all this 'flirting' just for him to have a boyfriend.
a- WAIT! Y-you have a boyfriend!"Aonime said
h- "Hmmm, aren't you one of those, what do you call it.Oh yeah, Generation of Miracles. And yes I do have a boyfriend."
k- "I'm pretty sure you know who it is.He is also one of the Generation of Miracles."
r- "Wait really! Who is it?!"Riko also chimed in.
k- "Yeah it's Murasakibara."All the team and Aomine were now gaping at that shock. They were so confused. Then all of a sudden they looked back to see Kuroko who had no emotions on his face. Kagami and Himuro looked at what they were looking at. Kuroko started walking towards Kagmi and the team made way so they wouldn't anger him any more than he already was.
Kuroko was right in fornt of Kagami and looked at him with a deadly jealous gaze.
ku- "Kagmi would you come with me for a moment."
k- "Huh, what's wrong with you Kuroko. Is there something you n..."
ku- "Taiga. Come with me." he said with a voice that sent chills down Kagami's spine. Also Kuroko never used his first name unless something was wrong he should probably go.
k- "O-okay. Well bye Him....! Hey Kuroko!!" before he could say good bye, he was being pulled by his blue haired boyfriend.
h- " Ummm...is he going to be okay?"Himuro asked.
a- "Yeah. His ass will probably hurt later though. Aomine answered.
Meanwhile, Kagami and Kuroko had just got to the bathroom stalls. Kuroko pushed Kagami in one of the last one's and locked the door.
k- "What are you doing Kuroko! Is something wrong that you drag me out and push me into a bathroom stall!"
Kuroko walked up to him and kissed him hard and put his hands on Kagami's hips.

A McDanno rec list for a new friend. (These are also authors I enjoy, so consider this a blanket rec list.)
The Bareknuckle Poet by pleasebekidding
After a serious accident left Steve temporarily wheelchair-bound, working towards his recovery, he enrolled at Rutgers for a year. He met Danny Williams in his criminology course, wearing pride pins and chipped black nail polish, so sure of himself that Steve found it breathtaking. What happened next redefined Steve's sense of self, his ambitions, and many of his priorities.
Tax Benefits by renecdote
“Everyone already assumes we’re married so maybe we should just...” Danny gestures broadly with his beer. He’s maybe a little bit… Not drunk, but definitely tipsy.
“For the tax benefits.”
Danny gives him an aggravated look. “Yes, Steven, for the tax benefits.”
Danny (jokingly) suggests they should get married. Steve takes him seriously.
ua kaha aku la ka nalu o kuu aina (the surf has pressed upon my land) by icoulddothisallday, TetrodotoxinB
Steve knows, he learned, how a man behaves. He can play his part. Danny, who is a good man and great father, looks nothing like what Steve was taught. Reconciling the two means giving up everything he's clung too for the last two decades, and there's nothing about it that's easy.
*potentially triggery AF (deals with effects of conversion therapy) but beautifully rendered
the art of leaving and saying goodbye by Verasteine
2007 is the year Danny learns that choice can be the worst kind of heartbreak. AU.
*warning for infidelity (not mcdanno)
in jest by apathyinreverie
“No, babe,” Danny shakes his head with a grin. “If the apocalypse were to go down while I’m elsewhere for some godforsaken reason, then you stay put and I’m coming to wherever you are.” His grin widens. “And I expect you to have cleared any aliens or zombies or whatever else might be messing with us off the island and to have set up a nice, comfortable military dictatorship for us to rule over by the time I get back.”
It’s a joke.
Of course it’s a joke.
Until it isn’t.
(A the-day-after-tomorrow-style apocalypse AU, where the world decides to end right when Danny is visiting one of the other islands with Grace. Because, of course, it does.)
not just friendship (romance too) by earthquakedream
Steve's gone and gotten himself a boyfriend. Danny's not sure what worse: the fact that he's stupidly jealous or that he actually likes the guy.
All I Ever Wanted (It Comes with a Price) by leviarty
Steve gets shot. Again. Danny is not okay.
* warning: a young grace shoots someone to protect both herself and a gravely injured steve
After All Our Troubles, We Have This by Banshi13
"I'm ending this," McGarrett muttered after a few moments of silence. "I'm not coming back until Wo Fat is in the ground. I'll dig his own grave and bury him myself if I have to, but my father is dead, my mother is running all over the world in hiding, my sister and I were uprooted from our lives, and now he's got Danny locked somewhere in a basement in the middle of Japan." He looked both Chin and Kono in the eye, deadly resolve in his eyes. "This ends. Now. This is the absolute last time that man interferes with my life and my family."
The Other Guy by haldoor
Danny tells Steve what he thinks is a funny story from when he attended Grace's school play. Steve doesn't think it's so funny; in fact, it makes him jealous.
Strapped by stellarmeadow
Steve's determined Danny's going to be prepared next time.
Warm to the Touch by veronicaluv
Danny didn't think twice about going to North Korea to find Steve. He just didn't know everything would go to hell when they got back.
Me and my heart (We got issues) by SquaresAreNotCircles
“I’m in love with you, Steve,” Danny says. He does it softly, quietly, laying the words into the darkness of Steve’s backyard like they’re something breakable, something to be tiptoed around. “I thought you should know.”
Steve’s heart jumps. It rams against his ribcage so hard it’s going to leave bruises. So hard he startles awake, and he almost yells before he realizes he’s outside because he fell asleep in one of the garden chairs in his backyard again.
how to be gay for your best friend in ten easy steps by commatme
See, the thing is that Danny doesn’t really do gay sex, what with being straight and all, but when Steve says I love you he sounds so earnest he makes Danny want to consider it. Which is crazy, right? He’s pretty sure that’s crazy, or at least a little unhinged.
It’s Not So Easy Caving In by paradis
The one where Danny used to be a heroin addict.
blame it on the ocean view by carryokee
Danny gives in, freaks out, and comes to his senses.
So Have I Loved You by Brumeier
In which Grace has a surprise for Steve's birthday and there's not a dry eye in the house.
take it back to a couple years yesterday by itsrosencrantz
Danny really, really doesn't want to go to his twenty year high school reunion.
Steve decides they're going anyway, and Danny takes it about as well as you'd expect.

Danny Williams isn’t in a great place – he’s a reluctant transplant to Oahu and an outsider at HPD. Former Navy SEAL Steve McGarrett isn’t doing much better, having suffered a career ending injury. When Danny’s young daughter Grace wanders into Steve’s bar after getting lost on a school field trip, Danny is drawn to Steve, somewhat against his better judgement – he’s got enough on his plate. He’s not exactly sure what Steve sees in him. As they spend more time together, Danny learns how Steve’s injury has changed his life in many ways, but not the most important ones. As one thing leads to another, Danny realizes that things might be looking up after all.

Oh, and Steve's pining like the taiga. Nothing new there.

“I’m Detective Williams.” Danny says, not trying too hard to keep it smug free. “This is my partner, Detective Mackenzie.”
Ken Doll keeps his arms up, his eyes flickering between them all as if he's only seeing police for the first time. “Good cover,” he tells Danny, and it sets Danny’s teeth on edge.
“This is the part where you say sorry for assaulting a police detective, for compromising an investigation, and for acting like a complete asshole while doing it,” Danny growls, about to change his mind and cuff the guy himself.
“Sorry, Officer.”
The bastard is still grinning.
Boys Like Me, We Try Too Hard by romanticallyinept
Steve's always wound so fucking tight.
And Danny's worried about him. Legitimately worried about him. Because maybe Steve always lays into the perps a little hard, and maybe he follows his own rules and his own morals and doesn't stop to sleep unless his body's actually shutting down around him, but usually, Steve's okay at the end of the day. Usually, Steve's not leaning against the wall of the alley they're in, eyes closed and shaking, with the perp he'd cuffed a minute earlier lying on the ground and crying about his broken nose.
Steve keeps a secret, and Danny does his best to patch him back up when it comes to light.

Kyaaaa I need some angst ! May I request a scenario with Akashi, Mayuzumi and Kise cheating on their girlfriend, and being really S A L T Y with her ! And then bam regret ! Please make it really angsty and make me cry ! Love yaaa 💕
I’m so sorry this took so long but these guys are seriously hard to write remorse for! I’m still not 100% happy with these but it’s been long enough that I don’t want to hold it open anymore. I hope you like! - Admin Jade
Kise
“Ryouta how could you?!”
When his career reignited after high school propelling him not only further into the modeling world but also opened doors to acting opportunities you’d been so excited, so proud of how far he’d come.
Then he’d been called to an overseas project and the tabloids started filling with pictures of your golden haired boyfriend looking a little too chummy with his co-star.
You’d tried to ignore it, knowing those rags always tried to twist things into what they weren’t but the longer time went on the harder and harder it was to deny what your gut was telling you.
So you can’t understand your surprise when you confronted him and he actually admitted he’d slept with the woman.
He’s not looking at you, still concentrating on the pages in his hand. “Ryouta answer me!” you scream.
He sighs, “I don’t know what you’re so upset about. It’s not like it meant anything. I just needed release. There’s a lot of stress working on a project like this.”
“So you call me and have phone sex! You masturbate to the nudes I gave you. Hell, I wouldn’t have cared if you ordered porn and got off to that!”
His eyes finally look up but there’s no remorse, no shame, no guilt to be found. “I needed a body,” he says simply.
“…a body? You needed a body…”
You’re shaking, rage flowing through your veins and if you don’t get out of here now you’ll probably throw up but still you bellow, “If that’s all you see your bed partner as then what the fuck am I, Ryouta? Just another in a long line of live fuck toys?!”
“Keep your voice down,” he hisses.
He may as well have slapped you. Blinking back tears, you nod, numbness overtaking your body as the last five years of your life flash through your mind’s eye in a moment. Without another word, you leave the home you’ve shared for two years with a man you thought loved you.
You never come back.
Kise sits on a patio of a bistro in a city he doesn’t even remember the name of watching people as they go about their lives, his mind drifting to you as it usually does in his moments of peace.
Peace? More like torture.
It grates on him that you still affect him like this after so much time. Is it guilt? Maybe. It’s so long since he felt that emotion, it’s like a stranger. He sighs, taking a sip of what he finds to now be lukewarm coffee, wrinkling his nose. Out of the corner of his eye, he notices a familiar face…could it be…
He whips his head around. Yes, it’s you.
After over a year of not knowing where you went, whether you were alive or dead, you’re suddenly before him. His heart races and he wonders if this is the sensation people have when they see a ghost. But he’s relieved that you’re not a body lying in a ditch somewhere.
A body…
How did he allow himself to really become as callous and crude as that? Was it because of the industry? People often forget models and actors are more their appearances, more than the lines they deliver, more than the characters they portray. Eventually he’d forgotten that too. And he’d lost you.
You’re walking quickly, eyes darting up then back down to your phone clearly looking for something.
He steps into your path and you bump into him.
“Oh excuse me, I-“ but your voice halts when you look at his face.
“________-cchi, it’s good to see you.” He winces. That’s his opening line?
Nothing, no response, your eyes are…cold.
Kise’s feels an unpleasant sensation crawling up his spine as you continue staring, almost looking through him.
“________, I wanted-“ he begins again but is cut off by another voice calling your name. Both of you look to the side watching as a man in a well cut suit darts across the street to your side pecking your cheek drawing a fond smile to your lips. “Sorry I’m late gorgeous, traffic on the platform was a nightmare.” His voice is low, tinged with what Kise believes to be a British accent.
He stands back up, level in height to Kise, his brown eyes meeting the blonde’s own as he asks politely, “And who’s this whose been keeping you company while you waited for your deplorable fiancé?”
Fi…fiancé?
Kise’s heart burns then shatters completely when you grab the man’s hand and shoulder past him saying in a saccharin tone, “He’s nobody.”
Akashi
“She and I are more suitable. In the long run, you’ll see I’m right.” Akashi’s tone remains even, no regret, no hesitation. You’re no longer of use and are cast aside like yesterday’s trash.
“Does this have to do with my infertility, Sei?” you ask quietly.
His glance is more than enough reply.
“But, we could adopt! We could bless so many children without parents! You know the pain of growing up alone, without love and-“
“It’s important to pass down the Akashi line through an absolute heir. Someone else’s bastard doesn’t interest me.”
You stand trembling, tears rolling down your cheeks. “You’re just like your father.” The proclamation is quiet and you’re surprise at the steadfast way in which you speak it. “You use someone until they’re no longer any good to you. You take what is not yours, simply because you feel it should be. You’ll see, Akashi Seijuro! You’re absolute, alright, absolutely deplorable. And you’re going to regret this.”
“Seijuro, I need a new dress for the event tomorrow.” Akashi grits his teeth, willing his temper to subside lest he lose control which he is not in the habit of doing.
“Fine, but take Itsuki with you.”
“I’m not taking a three year old shopping.”
Akashi grips his pen hard enough to bend it but she’s gone before he can respond, slamming the door. Across the hall a shrill cry of “mama!” is heard followed by a wail of despair. Standing, Akashi makes way to his son, gathering him in his arms a bit stiffly -he’s still not quite used to this- and rings for his valet.
“We’ll be going to the park,” he advises as the man rises from his bow.
Sitting on a bench, Akashi glances up from the tablet in his hands occasionally watching as Itsuki plays in the sand, a happy giggle floating on the air every so often. But then he realizes it’s been a long time since he last heard it. Looking up, his heart stops when he sees Itsuki is nowhere to be found. The park is empty.
Panic like he’s never before experienced seizes his heart. Inadequate as he is as a father, he loves his son and the thought of him lost or injured or worse makes him want to throw up. But he swallows down the bile and takes off, unsure which direction to go. There isn’t even anyone around for him to ask seeing as most people are at work this time of day.
Rushing towards the wooded area - Itsuki always has loved trees - he hurries around scrubs and brush, catching his face on an errant branch but he doesn’t feel the sting.
The sound of laughter catches his attention. People! Maybe someone saw something!
Sitting on a blanket in a circle around your picnic basket, you smile warmly at your husband and three children as they turn him into a makeshift jungle gym. “Can’t we take them to the park where there are things made to be climbed on?” he complains but his tone is fond, laughter in his eyes.
The crunch of leaves draws your attention away and you’re startled to see a young boy, a toddler really, teetering forward. There’s dirt smudge on his face and his clothes are a bit sandy but overall he looks ok, just curious.
“Where did you come from little one?” you ask, slowly moving to face him, giving him room to decide if he wants to come closer.
From behind you hear Taiga inhale a sharp but quiet breath. “Look at his eyes,” he says.
You hum agreement; there’s no mistaking who this child belongs to. A shiver takes over your spine at the thought of the wrath you’re sure will descend to whatever poor unfortunate soul allowed the pride and joy of Akashi Seijuro out of their sight.
“Do you want to join us?” you ask patting the blanket.
He steps forward, stumbling slightly and making a face that causes your own children to laugh which draws a giggle from him. Just as he reaches you, someone bursts through the underbrush and you can’t believe what you’re seeing. Akashi’s clothes are a mess, his hair disheveled and brow sweaty; he looks like he ran a marathon.
“Itsuki!” he cries, surging forward to yank the child into his arms, pressing him to his chest, half his face buried in the crook of his neck. “I was so worried!”
There’s silence save for the mild protest of his son wanting to get back down and continue his adventure. Slowly, Akashi’s eyes open, taking in the scene before him.
“Good afternoon Akashi-san,” you manage to say.
He nods, but doesn’t speak.
Akashi’s relief turns to discomfort the longer he stands before the two people he betrayed. He should be happy for you both, that you found love and solace in one another but all he feels is envy. Envy of how happy you look even in your shock to see him. Envy at the affection apparent in the way Kagami holds his three children – adopted by the looks of them. But he can’t help the feeling of contempt from rising up as he’s forced to face the truth of your words.
He’ll never regret the boy in his arms, but he regrets what he did, especially now that he sees what he could have had.
Mayuzumi
“Where did you get the idea this was a serious thing?”
You’d never known it was possible to feel punched by words alone. Now you do.
“Close your mouth, you look unsightly,” Mayuzumi grumbles, though it’s surprising he can even see you with a book in front of his face.
“You bastard,” you whisper with tear laced voice.
His grey eyes level with yours. “It happened. Deal with it or leave, I don’t have time or want to coddle you.”
“No, you just enjoy fucking me.”
“Finally, something we agree on,” he sighs with rolled eyes.
“I loved you. Despite your ambivalence, I poured all of myself into what I thought was a relationship. For someone so well versed, you’re a shitty communicator.”
“Maybe you’re just stupid,” he snaps back.
You can’t stop your hand from whipping across his face. “You’re a waste of space, Mayuzumi, even with no one to notice you.”
Regret is not a familiar emotion to him.
Life is life, what happens, happens and you deal with it and move on. Wasting time looking at the past is just pointless. But no matter how many times Mayuzumi repeats this to himself, regret barrels over him like a freight train whenever he sees you; especially with him.
Because it’s just like high school all over again, a time with little to no fond memories for him. This just adds to the pile of reasons he has to loathe the man on whose arm you lean while Kuroko looks at you with eyes full of admiration and love.
And next to you he’s seen.
One would think with such vivaciousness so close to him he’d fade away, become even more of a shadow. But here, in the real world, your light is bright enough to shine on both of you, warming him, drawing him to the forefront.
To a place Mayuzumi has wanted to be all along.

aomine scenario when his gf (who's pregnant and he didn't know yet) running away from their shared apartment because she overheard his convo with his mom that she didn't like his gf and already arranged marriage for him with Momoi? angst with happy ending because I need this hahah, thanks love!
I’m on mobile bc I’m ver comfy in my bed, and I’m in the angstiest of moods so I figured I’d write this now lol… sorry if it seems a little rushed, blahhhh
…
Your heart dropped to your stomach when you saw the unfamiliar shoes at the entrance to your home.
You were about to walk into the living room, a grin on your face when you heard a woman’s stern voice.
“Enough is enough, Daiki. How long do you plan on leading this girl on?”
‘Leading on?’ Sure, Daiki had been less than delicate at the beginning of your relationship, but that didn’t change the fact that both your feelings were genuine. The proof of your love for each other was growing inside of you right that very moment.
“I’ve told you before, Daiki, it would be so much easier to break it off now. I won’t allow you to play with her anymore. As a matter of fact, I’ve already set a wedding date for you and Satsuki, isn’t that marvelous?”
The blood drained from your face and you quietly backed out of the apartment.
Momoi had been one of your best friends, your confidant, the number one supporter of your and Daiki’s relationship. Now suddenly it seemed like the two most important people in your life had stabbed you in the back.
You ran, not really noticing not caring where you were going when you slammed into somebody.
You quickly wiped your tears and snot, bowing in apology. You wanted to get somewhere no one would notice or care about you, but the person snatched your arm.
You looked into their face and who should it be but Kagami Taiga?
Naturally he would be the one to see you all gross and crying.
His eyes narrowed when he saw the state you were in and he quietly asked, “Did that Ahomine do something to you?”
Unsure of how to answer, you just looked down at your feet, noticing that they were bare.
“I’m gonna take that as a ‘yes’ and I’m gonna go and kick that guy’s ass for making you cry.”
You grabbed his arm and shook your head. “Really, Kagami, you don’t have to… I just… I don’t know, I feel so betrayed and…”
You broke down in sobs, and Kagami looked completely at a loss for what to do. He rubbed the back of his neck and sighed.
“Alright, do you want to come stay at my place?”
Knowing you couldn’t go over to Momoi’s house after what you’d just heard, you nodded.
After a small meal at Kagami’s, you felt a bit better, though still crushed. You hasn’t really spoken, and Kagami didn’t pry.
You jumped when Kagami’s phone rang and he raised an eyebrow.
As soon as he picked up, you heard Momoi’s voice. You flinched and Kagami didn’t fail to notice.
“Slow down, Momoi. Now, what?” he grunted.
“____’s gone missing!!! She didn’t come home but her shoes were in the doorway to their apartment and Dai-chan thinks she might’ve heard something and took it the wrong way and oh my god do you know where she is?! Dai-chan and I are so worried!!!”
Kagami looked over at you as if to ask if it was ok.
Getting no response from you, he prompted, “What would she misunderstand?”
He put the phone on speaker and placed it on the table.
“Dai-chan’s mom was over there and they were talking, or rather she was trying to force him into a marriage with me! Which we all know is ridiculous, ____ and Dai-chan are perfect for each other!!! But his mom doesn’t like her and so he’s trying to force us to get married… But I just hope she didn’t get into any trouble… She’s my best friend and Dai-chan loves her so much…” Momoi sounded like she was in tears by the end of her explanation.
You were, too. How could you have doubted them?!
“I’m here, Momoi,” you croaked. “I’m sorry I worried you and Daiki…”
“Oh, thank God!!! Dai-chan, she’s safe with Kagamin!!! We’re on our way, ____, we’ll be there shortly!” With that, she hung up, but your heart was warm.
You were so blessed to have good friends and the best boyfriend ever, who would help you through anything.
You couldn’t wait to see him and tell him the good news…

“Wait, Hinata asked you for sex advice? You?”
Kenma instantly regrets telling his boyfriend this information.
“Yes,” he says, irritably.
“And what exactly did you have to tell him?” Kuroo says, highly amused by this. “With all your infinite and superior wisdom about sex?”
Kenma, all things considered, feels this teasing is very uncalled for, even if his knowledge had been theoretical. He does read after all; there is the internet and movies and books and very informative fanfiction he will never admit to reading, so all things considered, he certainly knows more than Hinata and Kuroo doesn’t need to sound like that.
He would explain this all to Kuroo, except instead he just sniffs and says, “I knew people before I dated you, Kuroo.”
And that takes awhile to sink, and it is supremely satisfying to hear Kuroo say, “You did not you liar, I grew up with you. What people? What people are you talking about?”
*
“No,” Kasamatsu cuts in with very commanding vehemence. “I am shutting this down right now. I am using my veto powers as Vice President. We are not discussing sex in this club.”
“What? Why not?” Takao exclaims.
“First rule of Miracle Boyfriend Club, don’t talk about sex in Miracle Boyfriend Club,” Himuro murmurs.
“Yes, that, exactly,” Kasamatsu says, like a man who has not watched Fight Club. “We are not discussing that ever.”
“I’m the President, you can’t decide that unless you give me a good reason,” Takao says.
“First, because it’s tacky. Second, because that’s not why we meet, this is not an episode of Sex in the City. Third, because you’re going to kill Kagami.”
Takao briefly wonders why Kasamatsu knows about Sex in the City and not Fight Club. He will admit Kagami looks like he’s dying.
“I just want to talk about basketball, OK?” Kagami says, almost as red as his hair. He’s not the only embarrassed one here, although Furihata looks a little more intrigued than embarrassed. “And, like, I don’t need to know that, OK? Not when I’m playing basketball against—all of you.”
“But what if I have questions?” Takao says, fluttering his eyelashes.
Kasamatsu scowls at him. “You don’t have questions, you’re just nosey.”
“What if someone else has question? Kageyama, you look like you have questions.”
“I read books and stuff,” Kageyama says mildly. “I research the important things.”
“I bet,” Takao leers.
“Call me,” Himuro says, “We’ll talk later. I agree, not at the Club. Let’s not kill Taiga.”
“Oh, Himuro-nii-san, you’re my favorite of the senpais,” Takao says.
“Shut up, no one cares,” Kasamatsu says.
*
“So, like, is no one going to talk about what Murasakibara said?” Hinata asks Kuroko later.
Kuroko looks at his friend and says, “No. I have very purposefully not asked for details about Murasakibara-kun’s sex life.”
Hinata thinks on this. “Yeah, OK. Fair. I super don’t want to know about you guys. You’re like my brothers.” He scrunches his nose. “Although I asked Kenma, and he sorta is also my brother. I don’t know. It’s weirder with you guys.” “Yes,” Kuroko agrees. “Very much so.”
A/N: OK, so, these are literally some of the oldest prompts I had in my inbox, from waaaaaay after I wrote this short, I was calling them (in my head) the “sex advice prompts” and I just had no idea what to do with them, because it was another one of those things where I wrote a gag short fic and didn’t know how to continue that gag short fic. So, I have finally done so all at once, sorry @sociallyawkwardrainbow and anon-friends! Sorry this is all I could do and it is not quite what anyone asked for! (let me, also, just declaratively say that this too is the last of this particular gag, on grounds of not continuing with the same joke). Hope you enjoooooooooyed!!!

I’m back!...
... So now that the story arc that was irrationally stressing me out (I would love to be able to watch tv without my anxiety being like ‘THIS IS SO IMPORTANT HAVE PANIC ATTACKS OVER THIS’ but noooooo), I think I can officially come back to watching Ex-Aid regularly.
Yes, laugh all you want, I’m a little baby who can’t take drama and betrayal. Thank god it all turned out semi-okay.
(spoilers below--even though we all guessed it)
Saki, RIP. I’m pretty sure this is what you would have wanted in this situation. I just hope you keep looking out for your boyfriend from wherever you are now, because under all that attitude he’s kind of an idiot. He’s gonna need all the help he can get. Taiga too, if you don’t mind.
So Saki is with Pac Man now (because Pac Man is god in the Ex-Aid universe), and the rain appears to be continuing it’s diabolic plans. The boys are all back together and are going to take care of each other, not to mention save the world.
I might have started crying when I saw that Hiiro had his coat back on. Admittedly, I knew he would never actively let Taiga die--he wanted to save Saki, yes, and turn don the others to do it, but he never put any of them in mortal danger. Hiiro will do a lot for Saki’s sake, but he draws the line at murder, even through inaction. Because if he let that happen, even if he did restore her, she’d have never forgiven him. He’ll be okay, someday--especially since now he has people who will support him, rather than his wallowing in angst.
Just... When are the Bugster Boys gonna start worrying about each other again? (though it was surprisingly nice to see Kuroto and Kiriya almost getting along)
Also, is it just me, or does Cronus have a tendency to grab Kuroto by the head when fighting him? It looks kinda funny, actually.

Kasamatsu x Kise - Remember When… 7
Following
Weeks passed by with Kasamatsu healing quickly. It was like some magical force was helping him. However, the prideful doctor Midorima took all the credit, much to Kasamatsu's annoyance. Finally, the black-haired male was allowed to go home with Moriyama. The two had talked a lot during Kasamatsu's stay in the hospital and became friends like Moriyama told him they had been for years. Kasamatsu felt a little better having someone to talk to that knew him better than he knew himself now. “If you feel anything weird or have bad headaches, come back immediately. If your stitches break, come back-” Midorima's speech was cut off by Kasamatsu. “Immediately, yeah I know. You've told me this three times now.” “I'll take good care of him!” Moriyama spoke up, trying to reassure Midorima. “...Sure...” The green-haired male didn't fully believe him, but he had no choice but to. “I'll be fine. Thank you for everything Midorima.” “Of course, it's my job.” “Yeah...” Kasamatsu was annoyed his friend wouldn't just admit he helped him because of more than it just being his job. “Remember Moriyama, do not tell him too much. Not only would it affect his memories returning, but it could hurt him as well by overwhelming his empty head.” “Empty head?” Kasamatsu was ignored as Moriyama responded to Midorima's reminder. “I know, don't worry. I'll be careful.” “I'm not worried. Now go. Kasamatsu needs to get home.” With that, they said their goodbyes and Moriyama wheeled Kasamatsu out to their car in a wheelchair. Moriyama drove home quickly but he didn't at first. He only drove faster when Kasamatsu began to panic. For some reason, Kasamatsu couldn't help but feel scared. He felt much better when he was indoors and it made him confused. Well, the blue-eyed man was confused about a lot these days. So, in record time, they reached their apartment and Kasamatsu got to be inside his home. It felt familiar to him but it was also strange. It made him feel sick to feel so weird in his own home. “This is your room. You can stay here or watch TV in the living room. Do you know how to work the remote?” “Yoshitaka, I have amnesia. I'm not a moron.” Kasamatsu grumbled as he made his way to the couch in front of the TV. He turned it on and instantly his heart stopped. On the screen was a beautiful blond man with gold eyes. He instantly turned up the volume and listened. “...model Kise Ryouta is still missing. It's been weeks now with no word from him. If anyone-” Moriyama shut the TV off as fast as he could, but it was too late. Tears were falling from Kasamatsu's eyes without his permission. He didn't know why, but he had a feeling that Moriyama knew. “Did I know him?” “Yes...” “Who was he to me?” “I think he was your boyfriend, but you didn't tell me anything.” “I see... When did he go missing?” Kasamatsu already had a feeling what the answer was, but he needed to hear it. “The night you were shot...” “Thank you for telling me.” Kasamatsu wiped his eyes and pushed the tears away. However, the hollow feeling in his heart was still there. He knew he was important to him, he just didn't remember him. That hurt the worst and it also pissed him off. He also knew that the man must have been connected with him being shot, he just also didn't know what that connection was yet. Once Kasamatsu calmed down, he decided to go take a nap. However, once he entered his room, he saw items that didn't make sense. There was a golden hairbrush with blond hairs, along with random articles of clothing that were the wrong size and couldn't be Kasamatsu's. Even though he was confused about the items, they proved that Kise meant more to him than just some boyfriend, but he didn't know what exactly he felt towards the blond man. If he didn't care about Kise seriously, then he probably wouldn't have kept the clothing or hairbrush. He knew that much about himself for sure. Thinking about it all was starting to overwhelm the black-haired male. He wasn't sure being there was such a good idea, so he decided a walk might be good. He knew it could possibly make him feel worse, but he couldn't just sit there and think. “Hey, I'm going to take a walk. I won't go far, just to the store we passed on our way here.” Kasamatsu informed Moriyama as he headed for the door. He could tell Moriyama was hesitant, but he nodded his head in the end. Moriyama knew Kasamatsu best, so he knew if Kasamatsu wanted to go on a walk, he would even if Moriyama didn't want him to. “Just...be careful.” Moriyama finally responded just before Kasamatsu closed the door. The blue-eyed male paused and turned to his friend. “I will be.” With that, Kasamatsu closed the door and headed to the stairs. He felt bad about making Moriyama worry, so he'd make sure to stay out of trouble... or so he told himself. He had a feeling that wouldn't happen. He knew he would get into more trouble due to his feelings for Kise, even though he didn't know what they were yet. ~ Kasamatsu walked further than he planned, without even knowing. Unfortunately, nothing looked familiar and he figured he was now lost. “Great... I guess I need to ask for help.” Kasamatsu grumbled to himself. He turned and began to look for someone to ask. Most people looked too busy or not friendly until Kasamatsu's eyes landed on a girl. She was carrying grocery bags but that's not what caught his eye. She had long black hair and felt extremely familiar to Kasamatsu. It was a bad type of familiar but he didn't know why. All his senses were yelling to stay away from her, but he decided to ignore them. He began to walk towards her secretively. He made sure she didn't notice him and to his knowledge, she never did. Kasamatsu followed the female all the way to a warehouse. It was normal looking and didn't feel suspicions at all. However, Kasamatsu felt something from it and he knew he needed to go into the building. He just wasn't sure how to without being caught. Kasamatsu had this strange feeling that he'd be okay even if he was caught, so he just mustered up the courage and went in the door he saw the girl go into. Once in that door, there was a hallway with even more doors, so Kasamatsu decided to open each one to find the female. As he got closer to the end of the hall, he was able to hear two voices talking. One a male and the other a female. In all honesty, the man sounded like he was actually screaming, not just talking. “Hush my God, it'll be okay. You just need to eat something.” The woman gently said to her “God”. Hearing her voice gave Kasamatsu chills and made him feel like throwing up. “Get away from me! Stay back!” The man screamed at the female. Kasamatsu could hear him thrashing around, but wasn't close enough to see yet, so he decided to get closer. He approached the open door and found he didn't actually want to see the male now. He was definitely Kise Ryouta, or at least what was left of him. He was all skin and bones and had scars all over his body. Dried blood was covering his fully naked figure and there was even some in his hair. Speaking of his blond hair, it was longer than the photos of him Kasamatsu had seen on the news. “Come on my God, please eat.” The black-haired girl continued to try to give the shacked man food, but he refused. “Get away you bitch!” Kise screamed and kicked at the female. She was able to dodge it as she growled at him. “Stop it my-” The girl the suddenly froze in her yelling at Kise. It was like she just realized something, and she did. “So you did follow me, Kasamatsu Yukio.” She turned to look at the now shocked and frozen Kasamatsu. He wasn't sure how to react at all, but the girl clearly did. “This is all your fault!” The girl ran at him but was stopped by a flash of blue and red. Before Kasamatsu knew it, the female was thrown across the room and busted through a wall. “Damn, that bitch is crazy!” There were two men in front of Kasamatsu now. They were the same height, but one had darker skin. Along with the darker skin he had dark blue hair, while the other lighter skinned one had red hair. Both men looked furious at the female. “Don't just stand there, get Ryouta!” It was the blue-haired male who'd snapped that at Kasamatsu. The man also threw a key at him, which Kasamatsu nearly dropped. “Okay...” Kasamatsu had no clue what was going on but he did as he was told. He made his way to the broken blond as the other two men disappeared from the room. “Stay away from me!” Kise snarled as Kasamatsu approached him. “I just want to help you.” “Stay away!” Kise screamed as he kicked Kasamatsu causing him to fall over and drop the key. He quickly picked it up angrily and glared at the man attached to a bed. “Stop that or I will leave you there!” Kasamatsu yelled back as he approached the man again. He ignored Kise's screams this time as he unlocked the shackles around his limbs. As soon as he was free, Kise shoved Kasamatsu away and retreated to the other side of the room. “Stay back! I don't want you to see me like this... I don't want anyone to see me like this...” As Kise spoke, he shook like a leaf. He was beginning to cry as well. It made Kasamatsu feel horrible, so he knew he had to do something. “Here...” Kasamatsu mumbled as he made his way to the blond and wrapped his coat around the traumatized male. “Stay-” “Away, I know.” Kasamatsu wanted to ask the crying man what he meant to him, but he knew it wasn't the time. So, the two just sat in silence as Kise sobbed quietly to himself. ~ It took a few minutes before one of the men appeared again, but this time it was only the red-haired one. The other one was nowhere to be seen. “Hello, my name is Kagami Taiga, the other guy was Aomine Daiki. We're Ryouta's friends and we followed you here to save him.” “I'm coming with him. He will be taken care of by me.” Kasamatsu instantly spoke, clearly protective of the broken man. “No... I don't want you near m-” “Shut up, I'm not going anywhere until I find out who exactly you were to me! All my memories are gone and I can't remember anything but that you are someone important to me.” “What?” Kise turned to Kasamatsu with a horrified look on his face. “Something happened to me which resulted in head trauma. That caused all my memories to disappear.” Kasamatsu quickly explained to the man, annoyed at having to explain that at that moment in time. “You...don't remember me at all?” He looked ready to cry again. “I know you were important and that you meant something to me. I just don't know anything exactly.” Kise was going to respond when he was stopped by Kagami's words. “Come on you two, we need to get to Kise's home. You guys can talk there.” With that, Kagami led the two out and to a car where the blue-haired man sat in the driver's seat, with blood covering him. “Uh...” Kasamatsu began hesitantly but was stopped by Aomine shaking his head. “Don't ask, just get in.” With no other choice, Kasamatsu got in with Kise. The blond was silent and trying to avoid Kasamatsu's legs brushing up against his. He didn't even want to be touched in the slightest of ways. It hurt Kasamatsu for some reason, but he figured that some terrible things had happened to Kise, so he understood. Kasamatsu wasn't sure what to do now though. He wanted to let Moriyama know he was okay, but he'd stupidly left his phone at home. So, since he couldn't do anything about it, he just decided to go along with whatever happened. All he knew for sure was that he was going to remain by Kise's side, no matter what. Even if the male didn't want him there. It was something he knew he had to do.

Toradora Discussion Episodes 9 and 10
Episode 9: When You Go to the Sea
Here we are. Episode 9. I’m so excited for this upcoming arc, it has some of my favorite moments in the series.
The episode starts off a bit… weird. Okay, a lot weird. We see a dream sequence in which Ryuuji is proposing to Taiga, he gets his own giant dog house, and Taiga apparently gave birth to several puppies. Yeah, it’s weird. He says he had the nightmare because of some movie he watched, but come to find out, Taiga had the same dream, or at least a similar one. So the both of them had the same weird dream where the two of them are married. Seems to imply Taiga also watched this movie.
In the next scene, they talk about what’s gonna happen on the trip, and who’s helping who. They end up having a little competition to decide this, and Ryuuji ends up winning due to a dog. An actual dog, not Ryuuji himself. Honestly, I think it’s fitting, since we haven’t seen her helping him much with Minorin yet.
At the airport, they run into Minorin and Kitamura. Acting weirdly. For Minorin, it’s expected, but from what we’ve seen of Kitamura you wouldn’t really expect him to do something like this. It gets even weirder, too. When Ami shows up, all four of them are making an octopus line. I like how when Ami tries to get away from them, they follow her as one big group instead of stopping. Also, there’s a guy in the background recording them with his phone. Figures as much.
On the ride there, Taiga and Ami get into some more fighting, as usual. Minorin seems excited about the rice ball she’s eating. Speaking of Minorin, when asked what she’s done over the break so far, she replies:
“Softball, work, softball, work, softball, softball, work, softball, work, softball…”
Yeah, she does everything. I mean, we already knew this, but still.
After that, we figure out what Ryuuji and Taiga’s plan is for Minorin. According to Taiga, Minorin hates anything that’s scary or horror-like, so they’re gonna scare her, and have Ryuuji be there when she needs comfort. It actually sounds like a solid plan, if it actually works. And that’s a big if, cause something’s bound to go wrong.
Once we get to the house, they all immediately head to the beach. Well, almost all of them. Ryuuji thought it’d be a good idea to stay inside cleaning since the place hasn’t been used in a year. This guy reallllly likes to clean, doesn’t he? But still Ryuuji, you’re going to clean when there’s a beach out there waiting for you? I really don’t get him sometimes.
Down at the beach, while Taiga’s attempting to scare Minorin, Ami talks to Kitamura about why he came. He says it’s because Ryuuji’s his best friend, so naturally he should come along. I don’t think Ami buys this, though, and neither do I. She asks if everything’s fine with the student council, and he says it is. Like I said last episode, Ami’s very perceptive, and it’s likely she’s picked up on something we haven’t yet.
After Minorin and Kitamura leave for the supermarket, it leaves Taiga and Ryuuji a perfect chance to set up something for Minorin. Unnntil Ryuuji walks into the bathroom while Ami’s cleaning the shower. She of course teased him, and when he tells Taiga, she goes up there to yell at her. When she was actually taking a shower. Taiga’s description of it was gold.
Taiga: She was all… Boom and… Boing and… BAM!
Ami: throws something at Taiga He doesn’t need to know that!
I laugh everytime I see this XD
After Minorin and Kitamura got back, Taiga and Ryuui begin their plan, by convincing Minorin that there’s a Seaweed Monster going around. We also find out in the kitchen that Ami seems to know that Ryuuji has some interest in Minorin, judging by her comment about her.
Then, there’s Kitamura.
Ohhh, Kitamura.
WHY ARE YOU NAKED?!
Kitamura walks into the kitchen naked with a towel, and a small one at that, covering his stuff. Minorin takes the opportunity to takes some pictures. Why on earth she’d do that I have no idea. But she’s about to regret it, because Kitamura accidentally dropped his towel. I think it’s safe to say that Minorin’s now scarred for life.
The group then eat dinner: spicy curry made by none other than Ryuuji, who despite making it as spicy as he could, made it so tasty they couldn’t stop eating. Wouldn’t expect anything less from Ryuuji.
Following dinner, both Ryuuji and Taiga manage to get some alone time with their crushes. Taiga needs stomach medicine after the curry, and Kitamura said he had some she could use in his room, so the two of them go up there. Ryuuji, on the other hand, is helping Minorin clean the kitchen. But then…
Ghost Love on the Balcony
Let me get something clear straight away. I. Love. This. Scene. This was the scene that got me hooked on this show. Everything before this was great and all, but when I first saw this scene, I knew right then and there I’d love the show.
About the actual scene itself, Ryuuji asks Minorin if she has a boyfriend. She replies not with an answer, but with another question, about whether the seaweed ghost was still around. Then, the conversation turns to ghosts, and Minorin says she’s never seen one before, but believes they exist. She then relates it to love, because she’s never been in love before, but she still believes she’ll live happily ever after. She wonders if it’s real because she’s never experienced it before, and that makes her wonder if ghosts are real. She then finally answers his question: she does not, and asks him if he’s ever seen a ghost. By now, the ghost love metaphor has been made, and now Ryuuji’s making the connection. He tells her he hopes she “sees a ghost” someday, and maybe there’s one out there that wants her to see it. In their metaphor of sorts, he basically confessed right then and there, but Minorin then goes back to the seaweed ghost, now claiming it’s reaching out to her. However, that smile she had after Ryuuji's reaction tells me that she knows something she’s not telling. What could it be? Maybe we’ll find out someday.
I love every single bit of this scene. This whole conversation about ghosts and love was just amazing, and I’m very glad it’s not the last time we hear about it. I’ll talk more about the scene and the metaphor after more things have been revealed, but for now:
Candlelit Scene
Not one, but two great scenes back to back. Taiga and Ryuuji also have their own great conversation. Taiga brings up the point that the room they’re in is massive, so why is she sitting so close to him. She claims it’s because she got used to his cramped apartment, but by now, there have been signs that Taiga might like Ryuuji more than she knows. Maybe that’s why she’s sitting where she is, she just doesn’t realize it. She then says this:
“Ryuuji, I’ve been thinking about that dream. Like maybe, it wasn’t so…”
Like maybe it wasn’t so bad after all?
This scene just screams that Taiga does like Ryuuji in some way, she just doesn’t know it, and thinks she’s still all about Kitamura. Between this scene, and her screaming “Ryuuji’s mine” yesterday in front of everyone, there’s definitely something going on there.
So, after two amazing scenes, what do we get to close out the episode? Well, it seems like both Taiga and Ryuuji found something spooky in their rooms. Could there be an actual monster or ghost somewhere around here? Who knooows.
That wraps the episode. All in all, the first half was good, but the second half, especially those two scenes, was amazing. Remember that ghost talk, it’s gonna come up again later, and I’m gonna love it there, too. The next episode is gonna be even better. For me, it’s also right now.
Episode 10: Fireworks
This episode is the second of the two part vacation arc, and like a lot of arcs in this show, the last episode is always the best.
If you thought yesterday’s episode was good, and it definitely was, today’s is even better. The second and final episode of the vacation arc: where Taiga and Ryuuji try to continue their plan, but only get scared themselves.
The episode starts where the last episode ended off, right after Taiga and Ryuuji had some scary things happen. Things appearing in their beds, and the knocking on their doors. They try to get past it, and stick to the plan, but while talking about said plan, Kitamura shows up. He just likes to show up at random times out of nowhere, doesn’t he?
Now that he’s heard about them scaring Minorin, they try to explain it by saying that Minorin actually likes scary things, and they were trying to make the summer memorable for her. Well, this kinda backfires, because now Kitamura wants in on the plan. Oh I can tell this is gonna go so well.
Next scene, we see Ryuuji in the kitchen making lunch, and Minorin joins him to help. They seem to not be acknowledging the conversation they had on the balcony last night, and just talk about the cooking. That is, until Ryuuji brings it up. Minorin asks him to keep it a secret, because she says she’s never talked about that stuff to anyone. It’s also the first time we see Minorin open up to anyone, so it’s a fitting tie in.
After this, we’re shown a small, but important, shot of Ami, who was listening in on the two of them. After a few seconds, we see her walking off, head down. Up until this point, we’ve seem that Ami might have some interest in Ryuuji, and might not like him spending so much time with Minorin. She also knows, or at least believes, that Ryuuji likes Minorin, as evidenced by her comment yesterday, and the following scene in her bedroom.
Ryuuji comes up to get her because she’s supposed to be helping with the plan, but when he gets there, she just starts teasing him, as usual. Then, she asks him why he’s doing so much for Minorin, trying to get him to say he likes her. But when he refuses, she leaves, and refuses to help with their plan.
She’s serious too, because next we see her on the beach, telling Kitamura she’s not helping. But, he and Ryuuji decide they can manage on their own. So, to set up for something, Kitamura leaves. By yelling to the girls that he’s going to the bathroom. Smooth move, Kitamura.
He comes back in the next scene to the four of them eating lunch under an umbrella, and Minorin immediately gets on to him about what he did. All of a sudden, Ami tells the group about a cave that she used to visit all the time, and Minorin’s very excited about it. However, it’s a big, scary looking cave, and after seeing it, Minorin looks scared. But Kitamura pushes her on anyway.
Taiga: His persuasiveness is sexy.
XD Taiga. This line came out of nowhere, and it was gold XD
Cave Scene
So, the group enter the cave, and Minorin’s already slightly freaking out. She ends up triggering Kitamura’s first trap: A piece of fried tofu? Wow, Kitamura, that’s the best you could come up with? I mean, it is only the first out of three, but still. And Minorin didn’t even see it! She ducked right as it came down. Almost as if she knew it was coming. Hmmm…
After Taiga thinks she smells ketchup, her, Ryuuji, and Ami look up at a wall with markings drawn in ketchup. I like how there are screams as background noise when it’s revealed, but Taiga just calmly says “there it is” XD. Still, Kitamura’s second plan wasn’t any better than his first plan. But, Ryuuji finds some kind of slime on the wall. Minorin freaks, claiming it’s “a dead lady’s hair”. However, it wasn’t fake, it was real. Now Taiga’s actually scared, and runs to Minorin for help.
This is where Ami breaks off from the group, and Ryuuji follows her. Oh this is gonna be fun. She starts teasing him again, same as usual. But she gets serious for a bit, saying Minorin wouldn’t be a good match for him, and implied that she herself would be. After she pretends to be lost, she gets serious again. She relates their relationship to the Sun and Moon, and if he were to get too close to Minorin, he’d get burned. Right as she says he needs someone like her, we hear a scream, seemingly belonging to Minorin. They run to where the others are, and Kitamura says “something” took her. After hearing noises, Kitamura runs forward to where they’re coming from with the only working flashlight. However, when everyone else gets there:
+ Confession
It was Minorin, the entire time. All the scary things that happened, like what was in their rooms, or the slime on the wall, it was all her, and she had Kitamura helping her too. Maybe that’s why his “plans” weren’t so great. We then hear that Minorin actually does like scary things. Not that surprising considering how she was talking about ghosts yesterday.
The entire cave scene took up most of the episode, and it was a great scene at that. But what happens next, is what I like more:
Fireworks
Minorin and Ryuuji have one final conversation to wrap up the arc. Ryuuji tells her thanks for everything, and that it was fun because she was there. Minorin brings up the ghost stuff, and said she was trying to show him a ghost. She then asks him why he was trying to scare her so bad. She doesn’t believe the excuse that he was teasing her, because he wouldn’t do that. She says she really wants to know why.
I have so much I wanna say about this scene, it’s crazy, but I’ll just leave it at this, for now. There’s a possibility that Minorin knows how Ryuuji feels about her. With the smile she had yesterday, especially now that we know part of that was because she knew what was going on, and the way she’s talking now. It’s like she’s trying to get him to say it, kinda like Ami was earlier. Instead, he says he wanted to show her a ghost, to make her believe they were real. I really love this whole ghost love metaphor the show has going on, and it’s just getting started. I
This was a fantastic episode. While not the very best so far, that would be Episode 8, it was still really good, and almost made the top ten. It looks like next episode has to do with a culture festival. Overall, I like the vacation arc a tad bit more, but I can’t wait for the last episode of the next arc, because I love it so much.
Again, no spoiler section for this episode, but that’s because I’ve got other plans
Next Time: The Culture Festival
Scene Count: 17

aokaga fic alert!
plot: kagami and aomine have their first important rematch since they started dating. sure, he’d been looking forward to this for ages, but there’s something keeping kagami from fully devoting himself to the game. it’s a block that’s costing seirin points. will he be able to get over it before halftime ends? word count: 3020 rating: sfw, but maybe there’s a cheeky kiss since this was originally from a five times kissed prompt until it got too long
second quarter. benched. two fouls ( including one against aomine ). legs are starting to hurt. seething. kagami watches the score board with his lip in his teeth. touou increase the point gap, but not by much. aomine’s hanging back, not playing to his best. isn’t that good? isn’t that a good thing that he’s not running seirin into the ground? he could if he wanted to. no... no, it only pisses kagami off even more. aomine doesn’t respect seirin enough. he’s going easy on them in case he upsets kagami. the bastard! it’s too late for that. his teammates must know that aomine’s holding back, and they must also know it’s because of kagami. nobody knows they’re dating, at least, kagami doesn’t think they do, but it’s clear that touou’s ace is only interested in battling seirin’s in a one-on-one.
the zone feels so far off. is this what kise was talking about? once you love someone, you don’t want--- no, you physically cannot give your all. even against aomine, whom kagami has plenty of experience maxing out his stamina, there’s something blocking him. he hadn’t even worked up much of a sweat before he was benched. kagami wants to win. seirin want to win. but he can’t enter the zone. why can’t he? doesn’t he want to? things only got interesting with aomine after he lost! his leg starts bouncing. kagami needs to get back out there. this is really fucking pissing him off! he doesn’t get what’s wrong with him, either! damn. he knew he was nervous before this match, but didn’t realise it would stop him from playing properly!
the seconds tick by. nearly half-time. what will aomine do with the moments ahead?
hyuuga scores a three, it’s nice. his teammates on the bench cheer, but kagami’s watching aomine. glaring. seething, truly. he should have stopped it.
aomine looks over.
concentrate on the game, you bastard!
kagami watches the grimace form across dark features. kuroko passes the ball to izuki, who looks like he’s clear to get to maybe the three point line, and pass to hyuuga who’s open. kagami glances at the time and when he returns to the spot touou’s number 5 had been, he’s not there. izuki’s motionless for a whole second, staring in horror at aomine as he’s flying towards his target. he’d just-- appeared. kagami hadn’t even seen it. how fast had aomine been to not only get to izuki, but to steal before he’d had a chance to defend himself? the upperclassmen turn on their heels and go after him, but there’s no shame in defence’s inability to stop one of aomine’s formless shots. damn. that’s so cool. aomine’s so good at going from flat out sprint to complete stop. not even a falter. jeez. he’s walking towards his team’s bench before the buzzer goes, but there was nothing seirin could do. fifteen points behind.
he had to talk to him. had to. maybe aomine’s own bad mood would snap kagami out of his. they loved playing against each other! this is really off! so he pulls on his sweater and walks on over, saying nothing to his own team before leaving. kagami’s not thinking about whether or not there are any rules against talking to his opponents. aomine’s back is turned, but momoi’s surprised kagamin? is enough to turn all heads. aomine’s own shock doesn’t go unnoticed. how could he think kagami didn’t want to talk it out right now?
“can i see you outside?” kagami doesn’t like being over here. it feels weird, he can feel a lot of eyes on him, and this can’t be allowed for how close this feels to trespassing. “sorry,” he adds impulsively.
aomine, the only person kagami can bear to look at right now, blinks uselessly. it’s momoi who speaks first. thank god she does; kagami had been milliseconds from stomping away in embarrassment.
“we’d like him back a few minutes before we begin,” she pushes him forwards, kickstarting aomine to move by himself. momoi knows about them. she must know about them. aomine pulls on his jacket and the two leave. kagami’s going to get so told off when he gets back. majorly told off. ah, so what? what can they do, bench him?
“i thought we talked about this,” aomine says gravely as they continue down the corridor, “we’re gonna go all out.”
“that’s just what i could say to you!” kagami’s quick to raise his voice, but he has to separate in-game tension with out-of-game tension. he exhales. “you’re holding back.”
“you’re benched, what the hell is the point?”
“that’s my team you’re talking about!”
aomine sighs. “did you call me out here just to blow off steam? save that for the game. now, back to the point, why are you holding back?”
“i’m not---”
“yes, you were.”
they stop walking. no one is around but this is still just a hallway not very far from the locker-rooms. kagami’s indignant and he’s mad. “you’re holding back! that last point was the first time you even tried!”
“like i said, taiga, you’re benched. you want me to demolish your teammates?”
“respect them, at least!”
“---- are you mad at me?”
“yes!”
“for what?”
“holding back!”
“stop saying that! you’re being an idiot right now,” aomine growls, “you backed out of a one-on-one earlier. you just passed. why didn’t you challenge me?”
kagami falters. had he done that? oh. yeah. earlier in the last quarter, he can picture it now. they’re face-to-face: aomine’s radiating intensity. every twitching muscle is under his gaze. he knows kagami, knows what he likes to do. but instead of rising to the challenge, kagami hesitates, and passes. aomine doesn’t try to steal it, either. he stands there looking disappointed. that was the first moment that kagami felt the pent-up tightness in his chest. it cascades as all anxiety does within him into anger and then he starts getting fouls. coach said he isn’t thinking clearly. she’s right.
“we said it doesn’t matter who wins. or didn’t you mean that?”
oh. fuck. kagami’s hand reaches up to where the ring on his neck usually sits, and in that moment, his worries become so much clearer. he’d thought that he’d been able to disconnect aomine his boyfriend, and aomine his rival. he was right, after all, kagami’s certain that he’ll still love aomine if touou wins today. it will suck, but as long as they’ve both gone all out, there’s nothing more to be said than that he needs to get stronger. but he hadn’t thought the fear through. he hadn’t even considered that he might be worried aomine would stop loving him if he lost. people have a habit of saying one thing, but when kagami beats them, it’s all over. it’s happened before. aomine’s searching for answers in kagami’s face, but this is hard to say. of all people he could be speaking to, perhaps aomine is one who understands this best.
“do you want to win today?” kagami asks quietly.
“of course i do.”
“what if you lost?”
“that’s not gonna happen.”
“daiki.”
“fine, it’d be shit,” he shrugs, “but nothing would change.”
“nothing?”
“can’t you just say what’s bothering you? we don’t have a lot of time here.”
kagami huffs. “maybe i can’t enter the zone ‘cuz i keep thinking you won’t like me when i win.” when. that’s already a step in the right direction. “i know what you said, but i’ve heard it before.”
it’s aomine’s turn to fall silent. he looks away with a worrisome frown. what’s he thinking about? is he offended that kagami doesn’t believe him? he’s sorry! it’s such a stupid kind of insecurity! it’s not that he doesn’t want to play against him! ugh. this is the worst. who knew dating rivals would be this hard?
“maybe i lied earlier,” aomine finally says. “i think i want you guys to win. or-- to get close.”
kagami inhales, about to yell, furious that this means aomine’s going to hold back----
“my body didn’t recover for days last time. i was exhausted.”
shouting contest averted. huh? kagami feels like he’s one step behind.
“i went all out and lost. my best wasn’t good enough back then. but the point was, i could actually try.”
“yeah,” kagami lowers his eyes, hand once again reaching for the necklace which isn’t sitting at his collarbone.
“and seeing you going up against akashi like that-- you, tetsu, the rest of your team. it was something else. so you better show that to me today or i’ll be pissed.”
“you’re not gonna hold back?”
“no. i don’t get anything outta that, don’t you get it? i wanna beat the team that beat rakuzan.”
“yeah?” kagami’s ego is off the charts right now-- or is it his self-esteem? he’s not feeling big-headed by these statements, it’s more like someone he respects so highly in basketball is reaffirming his own talent in it and it’s amazing. it’s so cool. aomine’s so cool. his mood is immediately alleviated and he’s almost forgotten the fog that stopped him from playing only minutes ago.
“we’re gonna win, though,” aomine smirks. “we’re not the same guys as last time.”
“no,” kagami’s turn to smirk ( and it’s the first positive expression in ages ), “i heard you’ve actually been to practise once or twice since then.”
“shut up. i’m gonna wipe that dumb look off your face.”
they’re close. it’s totally normal that these two rivals would be standing inches apart, so kagami doesn’t move away. scarlet eyes, narrowing with a happy smile, dance his gaze across aomine’s face.
kagami thinks about all the times before they got together that they could easily have been fighting if they’d been this close. not recently. recently, kagami’s been able to just kiss him if they’re at home! picture that. kagami wanting to kiss someone, and that particular someone being the coolest idiot he knows! and aomine daiki wanting to kiss him! sometimes, kagami wouldn’t even have said anything to drastically improve the mood, and aomine would kiss him out of the blue! it’s too much to think about that and not be able to do so right now. can’t he kiss him? of all the times, maybe mid-game is the worst. it would be distracting, right? but it’s instinctual. now’s a good moment for it. the perfect moment to do it. they’re outside, though. in the open. with a huff of annoyance ( what a bother to have to relocate! ), kagami makes his decision.
aomine can sense something is about to happen, and opens his mouth to speak, but he’s too slow. kagami takes his wrist and pulls him back towards the court. there's a janitor's closet nearby. kagami's pretty sure he saw it on the way over, and he can definitely smell bleach on the air.
"taiga," aomine slips his wrist free, but keeps pace. yeah, maybe that's wise. keep the touching for when they’re alone. "is that it? I've knocked some sense back into you already?"
"just follow me, alright? it's around here somewhere."
"what is?" it's Aomine's turn to look as though he's two steps behind of the situation. kagami's still smiling, but there's determination in his eyes that he'll carry to the court. aha! here it is! and it's unlocked!
"oh, great," aomine is totally confused and looks so funny as kagami pushes him inside. "you gonna lock me in here to guarantee your win, bakagami?” is he that oblivious? kagami pulls the door shut. "well?"
"well?" kagami repeats incredulously. he has to laugh. "and you call me an idiot!" but he won't leave aomine guessing for long ( because he doesn't want to ). he wraps his arms around his boyfriend in a hug, but it's partly to find him in the dark.
"we could've done this outside, dummy,"
“shut up,” despite his words, kagami came in here to do something, and he knows if he gets caught up in aomine’s games then he’ll miss his chance! and who knows what they’ll do after the match. so it’s now, or tomorrow, and with this kind of thing, he’ll always choose now.
a hand comes up to hold aomine's jaw. the wise cracks stop. arms raise around kagami's middle to return the hug, and now they're kissing. now, hands roam where they couldn’t before. now, as ever, something stirs in his chest and his gut and if he isn’t careful, kagami won’t want to leave. they couldn't have done this outside. even straight couples would be told this kind of display should be reserved for private spaces. they’re chest-to-chest, kagami’s back against the door. aomine always knows what to do.
"daiki," kagami whispers after a minute ( or was it two? three? ), "we should go back."
"you started it,"
"it’s not my fault!”
“i’m just that irresistible, huh?”
yes, actually. kind of. ugh! it’s enough to make kagami pull away, but the hands around his waist hold fast. the moment is over. whether aomine knew that being annoying was enough to snap kagami out of it is up to anyone’s guess. “come on, ahomine, we gotta get back.”
“are you gonna trust me now?”
kagami’s first reaction is to scoff, but aomine’s eyes are serious. kagami wants to say that it wasn’t an issue of trust, it’s just that he has a scar on his heart from when people he loves leave him. but maybe that is trust. aomine hasn’t earnt it yet. the results of this game will show both of their true colours. but he can’t word any of this right now, so he’ll nod. for now, he trusts aomine not to abandon him too. right?
“ah, babe,” aomine drops his hands, “you’re such a bad liar.”
kagami frowns, lowering his gaze. he can’t fight that. maybe it had been a lie? he takes a grounding breath. in through his nose, out through his mouth. it wasn’t. he trusts aomine. and if kagami gets hurt again, he’ll just have to know that there was nothing he could do about it. but it’s the same for aomine too, isn’t it? he’s used to people leaving him because he’s too good. how dumb is that? that people would stop being friends with someone because they’re too fucking good at something? it won’t happen today. it won’t. they like each other. in less than half an hour, the match will be over and this will be nothing more than a memory. determination lights up his eyes, aomine can see it in the dark. kagami will try his hardest to beat him. he will.
“i’m gonna win, daiki.”
“that’s better,” aomine exhales, and squeezes past to exit the closet. he slowly opens the door at first, but the coast must have been clear because he walks out as if it’s the most normal thing in the world to leave a janitor’s closet. “now, focus. watch out you don’t get anymore fouls. what are you on now?”
“two,” kagami replies just a little petulantly. “worry about yourself! now i’m feeling more level-headed, you’re gonna have to pay close attention.”
“level-headed?” he chuckles, “if i lose, i’m definitely gonna blame that kiss. you’re trying to sabotage me.”
“what!” it’s still weird to think that he occupies any of aomine’s thoughts, and too weird that now he’s struggling to concentrate because of him. he’s blushing at the thought! “get your head in the game, dumbass!”
“why are you going red? shouldn’t i be the embarrassed one?”
“no, i’m not! you’re just seeing things!”
they push open the doors to the court together: entering as confidently as two unstoppable forces could. each believed they’d win, it radiated from every pore. kagami’s blush settles because aomine doesn’t push the topic, he must have known it would mess up the redhead’s turbulent headspace again if he did.
he feels so refreshed now. he’s definitely not as worried about the aftermath as before their talk. kagami’s chest can hardly contain how excited he is to get back in the game! he finds his teammates, they’re talking among themselves, having just come back from the locker room, probably. he owes them an apology for being selfish before ( but not an explanation - now is not the time ). he takes another grounding breath before raising his fist and turning back to his boyfriend.
“thanks,” he says sincerely.
“shut up,” aomine rolls his eyes and bumps his knuckles against kagami’s. “don’t let it happen again, knucklehead.” they leave to part ways when he speaks again and makes kagami turn. “hey, see you in the zone.”
kagami can’t fight the smile on his face: it’s all encompassing and apparently contagious if aomine’s newfound grin is anything to go by. “if you can keep up with me.”
his smile doesn’t fade until he’s back at the bench. he gets an earful about not being there to talk battle plans, and he wholeheartedly apologises for being too in his own head in the first half. but he’s good now. kuroko is the first to admit the visible change in kagami’s energy. he believes in him. that helps more than he’s able to admit, and kagami sends him an appreciative smile when kuroko stands up for him. they’re all on the same page now ( even if some of the information is redacted, like kagami’s reason for his hesitation ). he will make it up to his team. and this time, instead of fighting for himself and seirin, kagami will give his all for aomine’s sake, too.
and if he doesn’t win today, he won’t get to fight the other dumbass generation of miracles guys now that their heads are out of their asses! kagami’s hyped up and happy to play again. he’s almost a whole different person. when he meets aomine back on the court, they’re smiling but focused. aomine has the skill to allow for the game to be fun, but kagami’s fighting spirit takes over and the intensity returns.
they meet in the zone. it’s unforgettable.

‘ concept: it’s 3 am. candle lit room. a record is spinning. you’re kissing me. we have no worries in the world. we’re warm and content. ’ aokaga
@peachmuses
"taiga, no. just because you like it, doesn't make it romantic."
"a one-on-one in the dark, then? with, like, glow bugs around?"
"no. if a one-on-one is romantic to you then you're not allowed to ask anyone else to play against you like that again." there's a loud silence. aomine won't budge, and kagami just wants to play basketball now!
"basketball ain’t romantic, then, damn."
"no duh."
"but sometimes it is."
"no!"
"only if it's against you."
"----fine."
he doesn't know what aomine had been expecting when he started talking about top five most romantic places. kagami has one romantic bone in his body and even then it's only around under certain situations and not for long ( sorry, buddy ). he has never claimed to be someone who thinks about any of this stuff, anyway! so, naturally his mind first goes to where he most enjoys hanging out with his boyfriend. they're in bed, now. the faint light of kagami's phone screens glow on his face. it's cold tonight. kagami's tucked up tight in the blankets. this conversation is kind of embarrassing him a little, but aomine started it, and he's decided to just allow him this.
"what about the beach?"
aomine hums, considering it. "i guess. and you'd be shirtless."
"not necessarily!" kagami scowls.
"you would be. i'd hide your shirt."
"shut the hell up," but he's smirking as he rolls his eyes. "stuuuupid."
"alright, taiga, what about this? concept: it’s 3 am. candle lit room. a record is spinning. you’re kissing me. we have no worries in the world. we’re warm and content."
his smile drops, brows tugging into a frown. it doesn't sound, at face value, like something they'd do. who listens to records anymore? but it doesn't need to be old timey music. aomine would use candles, though, and if they're in the same room, they're making out. kagami can't imagine aomine being within touching distance and not kissing him. not now that they're on different sides of the world. that scenario sounds like everything he didn't know he needed right in this moment.
"i miss you, daiki."
"save it. i'm gonna come visit you soon, remember? just another three more weeks."
"i know, i just---"
"i know," he gently interrupts, and kagami can hear a strain in his voice. "don't be so impatient."
"well," kagami is eager to cheer him up, "you're gonna love it over here. my place has a huge bath, and i go to sleep on the couch all the time 'cuz it's that comfortable. and there's a street court nearby that's always got strong players in. i've been practising my ass off, too. you'll struggle to keep up."
silence.
"daiki?"
"tch, struggle to keep up? don't get ahead of yourself, american boy."
"oh," kagami continues, but speaking in english, "you're gonna have to practise your english, too. maybe we should----"
"stoooopppp," aomine whines, "it's sunday afternoon! i'm not doing this on a sunday afternoon."
"you said that about friday afternoon already! and what about tuesday?!"
"did you say anything important just now?"
"wouldn't you like to know?"
aomine groans. "pain in the ass. go get some sleep."
"whatever. talk to you tomorrow."
"fine," and right before aomine hangs up, kagami's sure he hears "i love you," muttered in english. dumbass.
anyway, the next weekend, kagami goes to the flea market and picks up a record player and a few records he liked the look of. he's not allowed to burn candles in his apartment, but he is allowed those stupid little led ones? and a lava lamp! he buys a lava lamp on impulse as well. he's determined to give aomine that super romantic scenario that he'd mentioned as soon as he can come to the states. long distance stuff is so shitty.
#answered.#aonon.#peachmuses#they're really like this and then like two months later kagami breaks up with him. dumps his ass. explain that bullshit to me right now#(i say about my own hcs)#theyre being simultaneously so romantic AND annoying to each other#enemies to lovers has side effects and that is the constant low level affectionate bickering

Kuroko - Kagami x ? Part 1
Kagami,Kuroko, and Aonime were all in a relationship.Well...it was more like Kuroko was in a relationship with both of them and they just knew each other.
Kagami and Aonime never really liked each other because since they were so alike in basketball, they always had something to argue about, like one of them copping one another.Besides their style of basketball, there was another thing they had in common.A person they liked and that was...
Kuroko Tetsyua.
They both liked him and now that they were in a relationship with him, they had even more things to argue about.Sometimes they would argue about little things like the food he would eat or which one of them was going to cook for him. There was also bigger things like all three of them’s sex life.Since Kagami and Aonime didn’t like each other(like at all),they had to compromise on something.
The compromise was that they would have sex with Kuroko on certain days.Even though Kuroko like both of them and wanted everyone to like each other,he had to come to terms that they would never get along. So he agreed to the compromise.
It was a normal day at Serin High and Kagami and Aonime were having another basketball duel. They had ended up getting into another disagreement, and now they were taking their anger out on the court.
They had just finished another round and Aonime had won this one.
a - “Hah! Looks like you lose this time!”
k - “Yeah, this time!I am going to win this time. Can’t believe that I lose to someone like YOU!”
a - “WHAT DO YOU MEAN SOMEONE LIKE ME ASSHOLE!”
k - “Well I THOUGHT you were SMART,but I guess your’re not.ASSHOLE!”They were now in fighting position and Hyuga was trying to stop them from going any further, which failed.Kuroko was also trying to hold Aonime back. They were about to fight until some unknown voice chuckled.
Kagami knew that chuckle anywhere. He stepped down from fighting position and tears had started forming in his eyes. The rest of the team noticed and looked at him, trying to see if he was okay.Meanwhile he was thinking that that chuckle could only belong to one person.Kagami’s old chidlhood bestfriend.
Himuro Tatsyua.
h - “Looks like someone is the same as always.Getting into fights like old times.”The team looked at the person. He had Black short hair and one side of his hair was covering one side of his face.Kagami turned around and the tears were already rolling down his cheeks as he saw his old friend in the flesh.Looking at him like old times.
Himuro started walking towards Kagami with a smile. The team and even Aonime, were just watching everything that was happening.
h - “Awww.Why crying Taiga.Did seeing my pretty face make you cry?”he asked. He was finally standing in front of Kagami and he had a weak smile on his face.Himuro wiped the tears of his face with his thumb.Everyone was looking shocked.Anybody who knew of the threesome couple knew not to even touch Kagami and Aonime.
Now seeing this some of the team were looking at Kuroko who was looking like he was about to kill somebody.Meanwhile, the same question went through everyone’s head. Why wasn’t Kagami telling the man to stop. Then all of a sudden,Kagami hugged the man tightly, not wanting to let him go.
k - “H-h-himuro.Y-your back.”he said as crying into his friends shoulders.
h - “Im back Taiga.”he said as he was also hugging his friend back and stroking his hair.
r- “Ummmmm......what’s going on here and why are you crying Kagami?”Riko said.Kagami had forgot all about his teamates and boyfriend and Aonime. He pulled out of the hug wiping his tears and turning around.
k - “S-sorry guys.Umm,I want introduce you to somebody who is very important to me.”They all were very confused. They only knew of two things that were important to Kagami:basketball and Kuroko.
k - “This is Himuor Tatsuya,my childhood bestfriend.”

Date Night - Domesticity KagaKuro Day Two!
After the Winter Cup, there was a marked interest in Kagami’s popularity amongst the girls in their classroom. Kagami didn’t seem to notice, but Kuroko did. Kagami’s not noticing was a very pronounced thing, and eventually everyone more or less figured out that trying to coax Kagami Taiga into a date was a lost cause from the start.
Every now and then, though, there’s still at least one person who tries, and inevitably, Kuroko is around when it happens.
It is, perhaps, one of the downsides of being observant but also not very noticeable. He feels like a voyeur whenever anyone comes up and hits on his boyfriend, despite the fact that he was there first (in more ways than one). And he always feels strange whenever it happens, right in front of him, but he is fairly certain he does not feel jealous.
*
“Do you ever feel jealous about the attention Kagami gets?” Furihata asked one time.
“Not particularly,” Kuroko replied.
“It bugs me, sometimes,” Furihata admitted, shamefaced, “How popular Akashi must be at Rakuzan. I keep thinking one day he’ll realize he can do better.”
“You are very important to Akashi-kun,” Kuroko replied. But it is something he thinks about, later. The concept of better. It was such an important concept in Teiko—the idea that you had to be better, that you had to be a Success, that you had to be victorious in all things or you would die—and it is a really disturbing thought that similar principles could be applied to dating.
*
So when he is on a date with Kagami—nothing particularly fancy, just dinner with plans to see a movie later, nothing they don’t normally do anyway—and a girl approaches Kagami with enthusiastic flirtation, Kuroko watches it all unfold and he thinks about both jealous and better and wonders if maybe he should be reacting differently (if he should be reacting at all, beyond just watching and drinking his vanilla milkshake).
“You’re Kagami Taiga,” the girl says, “I’ve been to all your games—I’m your number one fan! Gosh, you just have to join me and my friends, we’re going to party later, it’ll be such a blast.”
She keeps talking, and Kuroko is fairly certain she hasn’t noticed him at all, and the more she talks the more Kuroko doesn’t want her to notice him (which is always when he is the most unnoticeable. If this keeps up, soon everyone around them will forget he exists).
*
Kise, strangely, had been the one who first explained jealousy, apparently having jealousy explained to him by Kasamatsu. Kise’s behavior had already offered the perfect example of the emotion, as he would have cheerfully gutted anyone for daring to take some of Kasamatsu’s time. (Kasamatsu’s time was a precious commodity back then, and Kise didn’t want to share it with anyone).
Kise’s behavior had been generally agreed upon by everyone to be extraordinarily distasteful.
“I can’t imagine ever making such a fuss over anyone,” Midorima said.
“I agree,” Kuroko had said calmly, “Although, I suppose I understand in principle where he is coming from. It is a bit like Murasakibara-kun and his food, I believe. Or you, and your lucky items.”
“Hm,” Midorima said. He understood—of course he understood, they’d all grown up never owning anything, and they were all too aware of what could be taken away. “And what don’t you want stolen, Kuroko?”
Kuroko didn’t have an answer, then. Because it already seemed like so much had been stolen from him. He wasn’t sure he had anything left.
*
The girl keeps talking, and Kuroko keeps thinking about whether or not she would be better for Kagami. Kagami has been in danger before, because of his association with Kuroko. And maybe someday he’s going to want kids of his own, a wife, a normal life, things that Kuroko can’t give him or can’t ever be.
If you couldn’t be better, you were scrapped. That’s the principle that Kuroko understands. And maybe the stakes aren’t the same (but maybe they’re still just as high) in the world of dating.
*
“I can’t, I’m with Kuroko.”
Kagami interrupts the girl mid-sentence, and he interrupts Kuroko’s thoughts as well.
“Who—oh! You’re the Miracle,” she beams at him. “Well, he can come with! That’s so exciting! I’m sure lots of people would just love to meet him!”
“No, I’m with Kuroko,” Kagami says, “He’s my boyfriend. We’re dating. This is a date.”
“Kagami-kun,” Kuroko murmurs softly; Kagami isn’t being mean, he’s honestly just trying to make sure the girl understands what he’s saying, but she looks so horrified, Kuroko feels sorry for her.
“Oh, gosh, sorry! I didn’t mean—!”
“Thank you for coming to our games,” Kuroko says passively, “Seirin appreciates your support.”
“Oh, yes! Well, haha, I’m just such a fan, is all. Well, have a nice day! Enjoy the rest of your date!”
“Sorry,” Kagami mutters, after she flees.
“Kagami-kun doesn’t need to apologize for being popular,” Kuroko says. And under the table, he reaches over and grabs Kagami’s hand, always warm to touch, always reassuring.
He is not jealous, and he is not worried about what could be stolen; he is and always will be confident in Kagami.
A/N:
Thanks, anon-friend! It didn’t end up being quite what you asked for—I don’t see Kuroko being as jealous as Kise, for example, but it was an interesting thing to explore. Although it did add a layer of angst to what I’m pretty sure what supposed to be a lighthearted fluffy prompts, so ahaha, woops? I feel like I owe the world some fluff now. Thanks again!!
