Leo and Dazai are the ones that don’t have a single reference point but are filled with so much dumbass chaos energy that they just. Understand immediately???? Nobody knows how or why, but they just catch on so fast--adapt the language in a matter of weeks. Never underestimate the power of combined boredom, depression, and humor

I swear to god I just see MC taking them their Blanc/Rouge and being like “here you go sir, one enslaved moisture” and they just go fucking hog wild from day one. MC starts impersonating Theo when he leaves the room around Dazai, like fake deep voice “you all only hate me because you do not like me and I am mean to you. grow up.” Or like the MC meets a baby on her travels with Leo around town and she holds them and says v seriously and sagely “So you are Baby? I have heard tales of your exploits.” and Leo about loses his shit right there. They both think MC is the funniest person alive--they’ve never been more eager to throw a ring at someone in their entire life.

Also a bonus for my beloved Dazai: MC, facing even the slightest inconvenience (like dropping her fork) in the most dramtic voice possible: Life is not daijoubu. Dazai: wheezing

MC, after watching Theo turn down a woman at the bar in the meanest way possible: bro quit letting the darkness consume you u r scaring the hoes Dazai, literally rolling around on the ground, half-drunk and dying:

Napoleon finds it to be a delightful quirk more than anything? He doesn’t really understand it, but he finds it funny when they change their voice for effect or speak in exaggerated tones. If it’s just comprehensible enough for an outsider to understand--or Sebas gives him context--chances are it’ll send him into a laughing fit

For this one I just imagine MC singing that Ratatouille meme song obnoxiously bad while cooking, and Napoleon and Comte are just so wildly amused by it bc it makes zero sense and it’s only vaguely French at this point

While some part of him laments that it reminds him of Dazai and he’s secretly jealous of how she and Dazai bond over it, he will sometimes join in the chaos when the mood strikes him and he’s feeling mischievous

They reach a point where they just kind of laugh and shake their heads, endeared by the oddity after they’re used to it and have determined it isn’t a threat/insult.

Arthur and Shakespeare are utterly fascinated by the rapid evolution of wordplay and the sheer hilarity. They will ask all about these so-called “memes” and ask for examples of them if MC can show them (either somehow accessing her phone or drawing them). MC draws Arthur the knife cat meme and he about a s c e n d s at the hilarity of it all, points and yells THEO IS HOLDING THE KNIFE. He is correct. They will be delighted and follow along eagerly, and--god forbid--will make their own based on late 19th century struggles.

Is this where Shakespeare got the idea for “What, you egg? stabs him” and “You are a saucy boy.”? I’m too scared to ask. Don’t even get me started on “The Fool jingled miserably across the floor.” That one is just too on the nose...

I can’t even imagine what would happen to Shakespeare if MC like translated vines and memes into Ye Olde English around him. Imagine she’s at one of those noble balls and hears rumors of these two guys living together and they’re so obviously gay and he says “And those gents w’re roommates.” And in the most false surprised tone ever MC just replies “oh mine own god, those gents w’re roommates.” Imagine having a wife that’s just as hilarious as you are and hits you with all the force of a bag of wet mice every time you speak in retaliation, he’s going into palpitations.

Every time Arthur does smth stupid MC just: “I Pretend I Do Not See It.”

Vincent is tickled pink by MC’s penchant for finding joy and/or amusement in nearly everything they do, and he smiles gently when he sees them muttering and laughing to themselves. He wants to be able to join them in what they love, but he has a harder time following along and understanding the darker humor sometimes. Mostly gets confused??? Please give him the easier ones to mimic and laugh when he tries--or just include him in your jokes MC. He’s babie your honor...

But he also. Will not. Stand any kind of self-deprecation or borderline verbal self-harm. He’s usually very easygoing and calm, but for whatever reason that stuff makes him go deathly quiet and upset.

MC, after something goes horribly wrong, hugging Vincent: Oh Vince, we really in it now Vincent: giggling a little despite his worries, relaxing

MC: Theo stop simping for Vincent that’s my job

MC, when Theo leaves the room and she gets Vincent all to herself: The evil is defeated.

Theo is conflicted because on the one hand, he loves to see you smiling and having fun. On the other, you’re clowning as hard as Dazai and Arthur and he can only handle so many monkeys in his circus. Most of the time he will roll his eyes and be the straight man of this comedy, but you might find him cracking a smile--or accidentally letting a chuckle slip past his lips now and again.

MC, after meeting Theo: I’m a nice person, but I’m about to start throwing rocks at people.

Theo, those first days: Oh? You’re approaching me? Instead of running away, you’re coming right to me? MC: I can’t beat the shit out of you without getting closer.

Theo: Every time I ask MC to explain “vibe check” to me she hits me with some kind of improvised weapon

MC, after the “incident” (you know the one): This year, I lost my dear lover Theo Theo, in the distance: QUIT TELLING EVERYONE I’M DEAD! MC: ;-; sometimes I can still hear his voice...

Sebastian is last because oh boy. OH BOYYYYY I LOVE HIM. Okay so the way I see this happening with Sebastian is just. So wild. Because at first he’s t r y i n g so hard to be the proper butler man. He does not meme. But then he starts to drift closer to what Niles from The Nanny was, where he’ll quip and joke in private or when the situation is just beyond the amount of absurdity he can handle without making a snarky comment. Everyone in the house can’t fathom how Sebas and MC got so close so fast, but there are points where they’re just “Are they even speaking English anymore???” It’s 11 times funnier than normal because Sebas almost never smiles or laughs when memeing, the deadpan quality of his playing along sends MC every time

Has ABSOLUTELY said “HEY. PANINI HEAD. ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME???” jokingly when MC made a mistake in the kitchen. They laugh about it for y e a r s

haikyuu!! music idol au (karasuno ver.)

at long last here it is!! also most of this is based on my knowledge about kpop groups and the industry (as a kpop fan) but i made a lot of tweaks and i’m basically imagining this in a world where the kpop industry wasn’t so hard on its idols and churning out commodities. but yeah! this is going to be the first part of a series so stay tuned for more! also this is p long because i added hc’s for kiyoko and yachi >~<

okay so in my head karasuno (or KRSN im sorry im bad at coming up with names) is like one of those really large groups that hav sub-groups kinda like NCT

they're from a fairly small entertainment company called umm KS Entertainment (im sorry im bad at names hnghn pt. 2)

its headed by ukai who's also like a really awesome choreographer and takeda who's like YG if YG had an exact opposite really kind twin who actually values their idols

(sorry im really salty)

takeda is honestly the sweetest, he's responsible for scouting and judging auditions

he'll basically let anyone who appears to put their all in pass the audition

he also likes to take care of all the trainees and make sure ukai hasn't made them dance to death

production crew are: ennoshita, kinoshita, and narita

kinoshita's like responsible for planning the concepts for every comeback

sometimes he thinks of really wild ones and ukai's jus like whoa there lets tone it down a bit

narita tag-teams with kinoshita by being karasuno's amazing stylist

his favorite person to style is suga but dont tell anyone that

and lastly we have ennoshita who singlehandedly produces every track on every album

he's also a really good vocal coach

and he's very tired because he's the producer and he also has to deal with tanaka and noya knocking on his door every five minutes

subgroup (night) KRSN-N

consists of: daichi, suga, asahi, noya, and tanaka

ok so karasuno has basically two main types of concepts: night (which is more like rugged and bad boy) and day (which is more boy-next-door and sweet)

the night subgroup has like a very strong rap line consisting of daichi, noya, and tanaka while for vocals we have suga and asahi

daichi is their leader ofc

he, suga, and asahi were in the same batch of trainees and had to (survive) live with each other for quite a while

his rap skills are really consistent and he has really good flow. also tends to start off their songs

his dancing skills are also impressive and basically just a great all-around guy

he's also really stressed from managing his group members esp because they're all children

asahi is one of their only two vocalists but he also has some good skills with music production and likes to work with ennoshita

he has a really deep but mellow voice

really shy when it comes to being onstage and meeting fans but he has the sweetest smile

tanaka is part of their dance line because boy can he bust out the moves

doesn't mind performing without a shirt. kinoshita has styled with him just wearing a jacket most of the time

his stage presence is just woah

the kind of performer who'd really get up close and personal with cameras and also people's phones

everything about him screams bad boy except for when he's really sweet in fansigns

noya is like their lightning-fast rapper who always comes in during the bridge

takeda heard him rap for barely a minute and quickly signed him in

more often than not enters the stage while piggybacking tanaka or asahi

also an amazing dancer who does all the gravity defying flips and jumps

he was invited more than once to collab with other artists

he and tanaka are trainee buddies and were inseparable ever since they ran into each other naked in the shower room

now for suga

he's like main visuals also main vocals also main dancer

was talented ever since he sprouted from the womb

he actually didn't audition his mom posted a video of him covering 'euphoria' by jungkook which takeda happened to come across

his voice is very high and he often harmonizes with asahi during the chorus

also tends to be really affectionate with daichi onstage and everywhere basically

so many 'daisuga being karasuno's parents for 15 mins' videos

subgroup (day) KRSN - D

NOW WE HAVE THE CHILDREN CHILDREN

okay so these guys have been together since their trainee years and basically had to live in the same room

which was like chaotic because they were always fighting and only yamaguchi knew how to do laundry so everyone was trying to be his friend

until daichi and takeda gave them a little pep talk so they don't hate each other so much now

n e weigh

first up we have yamaguchi who is basically jus very boy-next-door and also the unofficial leader of the group

he has an amazing voice and can hit the highest notes and he has a tendency to wink at the cameras

main vocalist and visuals

his fans love him because he's just so sweet

sometimes daichi comes in to check on how he's doing and treats him to a meal

he likes to check on other members during live shows

looks stunning in white suits also the fans made a petition for him to grow out his hair and now his hair is long

he and tsukishima have both dreamed of becoming idols and auditioned together

tsukishima's the main (only) rapper of the group

my brain: hnGhh rapper tsukki nskdkssm

he had to work on his stage presence but when he finally Got It he is such a master at it

also had to work on his dancing because he looked like a wiggling beanpole at first

most of his lines are actually written by him esp because he didn't want to say anything that felt embarassing for him and ukai was like 'why dont u write ur songs then?' and he's like 'mAYBE I WILL'

hinata's our other main vocalist, also main visuals and main dancer

his voice is p ordinary but whats great about him is that he's able to keep it consistent while busting out the hardest moves

personally learned a lot of his dancing from noya and tanaka

also he's always in the center because he's short and he looks adorable

he can nail the high notes too btw

he's the kind of idol who has the most random and funniest videos on twitter

kageyama's like their genius maknae

he had been training for such a long time and he actually wanted to be booked for another entertainment company but was rejected (hmm i wonder which company this was ??)

but he was a fan after seeing suga practicing when he toured the company and decided to join KRSN

he's in the vocal line as well and also main dancer

his voice is a lot lower so he harmonizes with yamaguchi and hinata

he and hinata were very competitive when it came to dancing during their trainee days

but they balance each other out pretty well and like to choreograph dance breaks together

super shy around fans and fansigns

most of the pics of him have kageyama doing the peace sign because he's awkward af

KRSN as a whole

takeda and ukai really encourage all of them bonding together and taking breaks in between all the stress of practicing and performing

they all live in one big house and its really chaotic

very few people know how to cook and do laundry

also there is an average of 2 accidents per week

but they do get along when it comes to practicing for the next comeback, especially when the subgroups have to collab

ennoshita's studio is a mess of sticky notes and crumpled up paper with probs asahi, daichi, tsukishima, and ennoshita napping on a couch

suga loves being able to train hinata and yamaguchi with vocals and they have a project of covering a new song every week for the fans

tanaka, noya, kageyama and hinata also spend a lot of time in the dance studio

whenever there's a new song they like to come up with movements to add to the choreography

after a really hard day of dancing they end up falling asleep in the studio and waking up to take-out courtesy of takeda

photoshoots and styling sessions take forever since there are so many of them but also its a good time for the members to get some sleep

but kinoshita and narita do not but in the end its all worth it when they see the photos and the reactions from the fans

their music and performances are very varied since they like to show that they're versatile as much as they can

they don't really prioritize being precise and flawless, more on channeling the emotion of their songs and power in their dances

no two performances of the same song are ever the same

KIYOKO

okay so takeda also had this genius idea of bringing out solo acts and after another round of auditions, kiyoko caught his eye

she's a bit older with idol training and recently left the group she was supposed to debut with because the company didn't treat them right

my girl kiyoko knows her rights

she's basically an all-around talent: good at singing, dancing, rapping, and visuals

takeda knew he would be dumb to overlook her and even though they've mostly been producing boy bands, maybe they'll have success with a solo female idol

kiyoko was very clear abt wanting to have more control over how she was going to be presented and also wanted the opportunity to write her own songs

and takeda and ukai were jus like well yeah duh, that's why we scouted you

kiyoko was like an immediate success

her style is def very sassy and sexy, especially with her dancing ability

kind of like Chungha or Hwasa

but her fans also like her more melancholic and deep songs that are accompanied by her piano playing

she's also super confident and loves to use her platform to empower women

sometimes she does get together with the KRSN members

she collabs pretty often with suga esp when it comes to dance covers and performances

the day she asked tanaka and noya to be back-up rappers for one of her songs was the happiest moment of their lives

kiyoko's a fucking queen

HITOKA

because i wrote hc's for kiyoko i have to make one for yachi too

she's quite interesting because yachi joined like one of those idol training shows and kiyoko happened to be a guest judge

watching yachi sing made her sense some sort of potential so kiyoko being the bad ass bitch she is convinced takeda and ukai to work with her

yachi almost died hearing that Queen Kiyoko thought she had potential

her first years training to be an idol were really tough on her, esp since she was aiming to be a solo act

but she spent a lot of time training with the KRSN - D group and they really helped boost her confidence

everyone in KRSN and kiyoko asked their fans on twitter to support her when yachi's first album dropped

yachi's music is super mellow and light and she has a very sweet, high voice

comeback stages and music video shootings are pretty scary for her but she really shines in live, studio sessions

also knows how to play guitar

writes her own songs !!!

during her first fan meeting she prepared a bunch of presents for her fans and was scared that no one would come but a whole bunch of people did and she was so happy she almost cried

Little Witch Academia and missed opportunities

Sooo, since I seem to go on a tangent every few months, have another one.

I recently watched the series Little Witch Academia. Now, I did see the original OVA and movie, but that was a few years back, so except for the concept and rough understanding of the characters I went into this show kinda blind. Also, knowing that the series started its own story and changed up a few things got me really interested.

I watched the series and you know what, it was real fun. Great animation and quirky characters, as expected of Trigger. What I didn’t expect was that I got really interested in the story as well. From what I knew about LWA (so, it’s memes) I thought it was mostly an episodic anime, which it was in its first half, but they still carried on the aspects of those single episodes.

However.

The biggest problems I have with the show lie with its characters and the missed opportunities. I do like (most) of the characters, but sometimes it felt like Trigger originally had more planned with them or they just outright shanked them. That is why I’m gonna ramble for a while, go over each character (I care about) and talk about what I like about them but was just not explored enough. Do remember, however, that I still really enjoyed the show and I am considering rewatching it again right away, but these were just some points that got on my nerves while watching.

Well, strap in I guess

Akko

Let’s start with the protagonist, shall we? I’m probably going to mention her a lot with the other characters as well, but first I want to look at her by herself.

Akko is Trigger’s typical high energy character with just a bit of sass. What I like about her is that she is loud, obnoxious, selfish and annoying and the other characters think that too. I normally really don’t enjoy these kinds of characters, even more so when I binge a series, because they get so exhausting. What I like in LWA is that even Akko’s close friends often tell her to calm down or straight up to just shut up. Akko’s character is even more enjoyable because of her great VA (actually the reason I finally picked up the anime). Her animations and reactions are super enjoyable too and tbh, even if she is annoying, she is also the funniest part of the whole show.

But, I’m here to rant, so on to the things that bothered me. Like I said, she is annoying. I can kind of see that it’s not that big of a deal on a weekly basis, maybe then it’s even uplifting. But when you sit through episode after episode it gets exhausting.

What bothers me too is that Akko barely changes. I know not to expect that much subtle character progression from Trigger, since they go from 0 to 100 fast, but it’s even stated in the show. Like the whole thing with patience. Akko was never the patient type but the episode it became the focus, they turned it up to eleven. She became unbearably twitchy and whiny, which was basically your indicator that this was going to be focused on. But after the whole lesson of the ep, in the next one Ursula even says ‘didn’t you just learn to be patient?’. I don’t wish for Akko to take big steps after she gets a lesson, but just show subtle moments where the lesson takes effect. I think it only really bothers me so much because after the ep Akko seems even more impatient.

Another thing is her selfishness / self-righteousness. Diana and Andrew even tell that to her face, that she just shoves her believes in other’s faces without considering how they feel and what their situation is. But she never, even once, doesn’t do it. I get it, it’s her character trait, being the dangerous combo of head-strong and stubborn. But it never, not even once, brings consequences. I thought it would finally happen with the whole Diana situation, because Andrew even points out Akko’s faults, but it all ends well anyways and Akko doesn’t learn at all from this.

I know this is a Trigger protagonist but at some point it just got so frustrating. It’s even sadder when you see what they did with Ryuko in Kill la Kill. Yeah, she’s still her abrasive self in the end, but she does have a more gentle and open side to her too after the show. Akko kind of stays the complete same after the whole show, only that she can do magic better and finally fly (which was honestly a cute ending, ngl). The worst parts, however, were her sad moments towards the end. And I’m not talking about her reaction to learning about Chariot, that was totally ok (though I do have some things to complaint about, but on to that later), but the thing before when she climbed that never-ending tree. Her outburst and her frustration came kind of out of nowhere, at least continuing on from the last episode. Her reasons for being so frustrated and angry make perfect sense, but the build-up is just missing, even in the episode itself. It would have been enough to make Akko look desperately at her Chariot poster a few times or just look really desperate in general after being told ‘no’ by Ursula. But she just looks her usual pouty self when that happens, so her outburst and mistrust in Ursula are very surprising. I do like that that ep is right before the Chariot (betrayal) reveal, because they just made up and got closer, but the episode itself felt so out of left field, it really bothered me.

Sucy and Lotte

Before you say anything, I’m only lumping them together because what bothers me is not their characters by themselves, they’re great and very enjoyable, but how Trigger fucking dropped them halfway through the show.

Sucy and Lotte seem very similar to their OVA and movie selves, though Sucy seems just a tad bit less evil and Lotte not that much of a typical nerd. In general, I really liked those two and their friendship with Akko.

That said.

I find it terrible how little focus they get in the second half of the show. I mean, it’s great they are those kind of friends that don’t necessarily have to hang around the MC all the time, like in the Diana-centric episode where they go ‘We know you want to go after her, so here, have your stuff and go. We’re going to support you but not take part in it’. Things like that are great! But Akko, Sucy and Lotte are supposed to be best friends, the main trio, Sucy and Lotte are supposed to be Akko’s mayor pillars of support. And this is beautifully shown in the earlier episodes, but later in the show it just feels like those two lose significance. What pissed me off the most is that in the second OP you see them grasping each other’s arms, a reference to the tapestry about the 7 lights. But in the end, Akko unlocks the staff and the big magic source by herself. I wished they’d gone more for a ‘Luna Lana’ equivalent. That’s just another thing! I watched the OVA and movie yesterday and their friendship is so much better in those! You see them laugh and fight and stick together, it’s so nice. You don’t get a cool moment like ‘Luna Lana’ in the series and I think they really should have. And no, the missile chase doesn’t count, that involved all girls.

Ultimately, I just think it’s sad that those 3 are supposed to represent this close friendship but the later show doesn’t show it at all. I wished other character-centric episodes, like with Constanze or Diana for example, would have happened sooner so that later episodes could push Akko, Sucy and Lotte’s friendship a bit more.

Speaking of Diana, oh boy, here we go.

Diana and Andrew

Yes, I’m lumping them together because both could have had so much more.

First, Diana. I was actually surprised about her character, because from the little I remember about the OVA and movie, I thought her to be more of a bitch. And I was right. In the first two instalments she is a snobbish, stuck-up, rude bitch, so a Tsundere, but fun in her own rights. Her dynamic with Akko is truly amusing. In the series, however, she is still a bit stuck up, but more just a determined, stern and smart rich girl. She does chastise Akko and is shown as a know-it-all, but she respects others way more and mostly just talks because she knows she’s right. Though, I wish she would have turned out to be something right between the two.

Diana is supposed to be Akko’s rival, so why isn’t she? She’s supposed to be the Viral to Kamina/Simon, the Satsuki to Ryuko, but she just isn’t. Before her little arc, she’s kind of that ‘big goal’, the ‘perfect witch’, so the familiar obstacle that is the rival. Diana even gains some respect for Akko but also gets disappointed in her shortly after (tbh, same). But all this progression is kind of one-sided, because Akko’s perception of Diana barely changes. They don’t really have a dynamic going on in the first half, more so their own development. Heck, in the second OP it’s shown that they’re supposed to mirror Chariot and Croix but they honestly don’t. Because Chariot and Croix were two friends that were striving for the same goal but due to how differently they tried to reach it, they grew apart. Diana is striving for the same power that Chariot and Croix did and Akko, well, she doesn’t, she just goes along because she wants to meet Chariot. Which is fine, but it feels like this ‘rivalry’ is being forced onto them. Maybe that’s also intentional, but it feels weird. Diana even once says ‘I never considered us rivals’, which is understandable, but to me it was more of a surprise that Akko saw her as one. To me, it always felt like, even if Diana didn’t realize it, she viewed Akko as her own goal to reach. Akko on the other hand just gets really miffed with Diana, and yeah, she strives to be as good with magic as her, but there’s no real rivalry, not even an implied one.

Then the whole thing with both being Chariot fans and Diana getting Akko out of her slump. I already said it once, but I still think it should have been Lotte and Sucy who ultimately got her to perk up again (I’ll describe how I think this whole thing should have gone. Again, this is only cos I was unsatisfied with the resolution, the original is fine in itself though). What bothers me so much about this is that it feels like they shoe-horned this whole thing in because that’s how it was in the original. I get what they want to do, get a parallel between Akko and Diana, even more so because they both lost their magic to Chariot, and since they’re closer now than at the beginning Diana manages to reach her. But in the end, it feels forced. Both girls had one adventure together and Diana was just starting to open up to Akko, where the hell did all that understanding come from. It’s even harder to believe because it’s shown that Diana is good at relaying facts and choosing the most logical course of action, she’s not known to just openly share her feelings, more so to someone she just learned to consider a friend. And it also feels kind of lazy that a pep talk from a fellow fan and victim would just push Akko out of her slump. Instead of somehow cramming that fact in and making Diana have lost her power too, they could have gone along the route of ‘so what if she stole your magic, you’re too stubborn to let that stop you!’

Like I said, I’ll go into detail about this scene later, but first.

Andrew.

Oh. My sweet boy, they did you so dirty.

I’m going to say it right now, I love Andrew’s introduction episode, it’s probably one of my favourites. And I also like his addition to the series in general, because whereas Diana is Akko’s feud in personality and ability, Andrew is supposed to be her opposite in ideologies. But he isn’t just a male Diana who doesn’t like magic, though at first they make you think that.

I love his introduction ep so much, because they don’t just introduce an obstacle for Akko, but once again show that the show can play with your expectations. Andrew is first shown as this typical snobby, stuck up rich kid, which he is, but even when faced with someone he disagrees with, he shows a level of respect. Then further in the episode, you see that he is in fact a calm, helpful when a bit teasing individual. It also shows that he actually has fun when in danger, which is a nice change to normally one-note characters. But what I love most about this is, that he is not just this ‘snobby non-believer turned enthusiast through one outing’ cliché. Andrew gets to have a bit of an adventure with Akko and get to see amazing magic at that, but he stays pessimistic. He doesn’t just change his world view in a second, because that’s not what he was raised to do.

Having established all that, every time he shows up, he kind of matters less and less. The whole party episode was fun and all, but with Akko still being stuck in her narcissistic world view, the effect of the ep is small. Because what it really is about, is to show on one hand that Andrew is very subordinate to his father and that his perception of magic isn’t necessarily his own opinion, so there is a possibility to change his mind. On the other hand, it’s to show Akko that some people make decisions not based on their own volition and sometimes their opinion can’t just be changed like that.

But in the end Akko doesn’t learn her lesson and even if they do play a bit with changing Andrew’s mind, there really isn’t much to it. When I heard that originally it was planned for Akko and Andrew to be together at the end, but they scrapped that idea, it made so much sense why Andrew felt so out of place in the last few episode. Because he was. Honestly, it really shows now how they weren’t so sure what to do with him at the end, because he was not supposed to be the one to make that big of an impact, neither on Akko nor on the plot as a whole. He does say something very significant to Akko though, to be her own witch and not try to be Chariot, but that gets kind of brushed under the rug, because again, he isn’t supposed to be the one to make an impact anymore. Same thing with his ‘I believe’. It’s just there to be there, because even if he opened up more to magic and Akko herself, I don’t think he would have been snapped out of his ideology that he got punched into him since he was young and just abandon his father’s decision he had just started to doubt.

I think all of this would have flown better if the whole Diana arc would have been earlier in the series. There would have been more time for Diana and Akko to find a common footing and become believable friends, Andrew would have more reason to be mesmerized by witches and magic, because he didn’t just get to see determination from Akko but from Diana as well (and you kinda have that ‘go against your family’ stuff too) and then, in the later part of the series, there would have been more time for the main trio to develop a bit more.

But even if that hadn’t happened, I just want to get to changing up the scenes after Chariot’s reveal, because I think if they had handled all that a bit better, then the original ending would have felt even more sincere.

Cheering up depressed Akko

Like I said, I find Trigger’s solution to this small arc lazy. Because you start up with Andrew and Akko meeting up to give her hat back, Andrew says stuff that not only gets Akko thinking but himself as well. Then you got the reveal, everybody searching and Diana being the only person needed to cheer her up. I know it can be argued that, only after Lotte comes in crying with the others in tow, Akko cheers up, but I think most of it can be chalked up to Diana, which is such plot convenience. Again, the things that bother me are the whole ‘Chariot fan and victim’ thing and how Lotte, Sucy, Andrew and the others are not really significant in this moment. The biggest thing that bothers me is that they start this mini arc with Andrew telling Akko to be herself and reach her goal with her own strengths in mind, not because she is chasing someone else. But then with Diana, it’s basically a ‘I could do it, so you can do it too’. I know they’re trying to build a parallel between those two and show how Diana opens up to Akko, but I think that just misses the point of what they had sat up.

Before I get to describing my idea, again, you can totally disagree with me, heck, you don’t have to like what I come up with at all. But just know that this is supposed to be a rant and I purposefully highlight the things that bothered me. I still love the show and only rant about it because I know Trigger could have made this already fun show even better.

Anyways, here is how I’d handled this arc:

The start of the arc is still the same. Akko and Andrew meet up, he tells her to believe in her own strength, Akko gets distracted and runs off, Andrew gets thoughtful. You have the whole reveal with Chariot, Akko vanishes and Diana and the others go search for her.

Now, what I want this arc to accomplish is, that Akko learns to believe in her own strengths but also to show how her friends have her back. Because that’s what the whole ending is about, right? Showing how Akko changed people, how they believe in themselves and even more so, believe in her. So, I want all of her friends to play a part in cheering her up, but make Sucy and Lotte the biggest influence of them all.

I’d start the changes from where Diana is nearly at Akko’s location. This time however, she finds Andrew close by. After the whole Parliament meeting stuff, him and his father are still in town and he went out at night, wandering around, deep in thought. He somehow managed to make himself think about his own situation with all that he had told Akko.

Diana, knowing that Andrew had met up with Akko, approaches him and asks if he had seen Akko. Since he is confused and worried after hearing she’s gone, Diana explains the situation and Andrew decides to help them search.

He is also the one that finds Akko first, right on that bench, covered in snow. (this part is a bit inspired by a post I read). He runs over to her, shocked at how cold and unresponsive she is. He gives her his jacket and he brushes the snow from he hair. He sits quietly next to her, worried glances and all. He thinks about what Diana told him and mulls over an answer. In the end, he basically repeats to her what he told her earlier that day and maybe something along the lines ‘and honestly, I wouldn’t believe you don’t have magic, because to me you are truly bewitching’, just so that you have nod back to the party, only now it comes from the heart and not because of a potion. That gets her to perk up and Andrew just gives her a reassuring smile.

Then Diana comes in, finally finding the two. Diana takes Akko to the café, Andrew staying behind. (here Akko could keep his jacket, so that in the end you have the parallel of him bringing her the hat and her returning the jacket). The café scene is kind of similar to the original, but I’d change the reason for Diana’s loss of magic. Instead of her losing her magic abilities all of a sudden, maybe she could have had a tough time manifesting them from the start. But Diana shares with Akko that she was inspired by Chariot too and that kept her going, believing in herself and her magic and finally succeeding. She tells Akko the whole thing with how she got envious of her, but at the same time that, just like Chariot, Akko had kind of become an inspiration as well. Now you don’t have the ‘I could, so you can too.’ but more Diana cementing that Akko has powers of her own and is already influencing people.

Then in come Amanda, Jasminka and Constanze. Amanda goes straight to shaking Akko and ruffling her hair, shouting something about ‘who am I gonna cause trouble with if you go’. Jasminka offers Akko her candies and Constanze shoves plans in her face, trying to show her that she needs her assistant. It’s just small things, but it would allude to the three of them caring about Akko and in Amanda’s and Constanze’s cases, that she had made an impact on them, tying in previous episodes.

Lastly come in Lotte and Sucy. Lotte is still crying and asking her if she was leaving. But they would kind of go into more detail, like a small recap of all that happened and how important she was. They would also talk about how Akko has grown so much already and so what if Chariot had taken her magic, she still inspired Akko and Akko therefore grew into her own witch that now inspires people.

After that, Akko finally snaps out of it totally, maybe grinning full force before sobbing and burying herself in Lotte and Sucy’s arms.

I think in general with a recap of the show so far and showing Akko’s journey, it would be a good set-up for the end. You got Akko back on her feet, her faith rebuilt but also her believe in herself strengthened. You got the bond between the characters established which makes the chase after the missile more impactful and you actually got more reason for Andrew to cement his own believes more. (maybe have him walk in the café too, just so he sees how many people Akko has inspired but also how much people can believe in magic)

But like I said many times already, this is just my take on what could have been handled better a bit. I still really love the show and its characters. I don’t necessarily want a whole new season, since they did wrap up many things already, but I’d love a movie or some OVAs to explore some characters more in depth.

Speaking of which, I’m just going to drop this here at the end, because I do want to talk about it but not that in depth. The thing about Ursula/Chariot and Croix. I kind of enjoyed the OVA-Ursula more, because she was kind of spunky and you could tell that she believed in her own strength. Series-Ursula is a freaking Jedi, but she is just so meek and nervous, and that even as Chariot, which I didn’t really like. Croix is an interesting character and I love me my evil scientists, but she turned generic antagonist at the end. As expected, tbh. The only thing about Croix I want to highlight is that I believed so hard that she and Andrew were somehow linked or related. Because when you binge the series, Croix shows up shortly after Andrew’s introduction. And in a series with so many unique eyes, they have the fucking same. I just thought that Trigger was hinting at something, because not only do they have a very similar shape and the exact same string green colour, the first few episodes with them heavily focus the camera on their eyes. Especially with Croix! It felt like the anime told me ‘look, look close at those eyes, seem familiar, right?’. I waited so long for something to happen but it never did, what a shame. Though, maybe they did have something planned but just like the initial ending, they scrapped that idea but left the designs untouched.

Ever since it was a two time tango, Karl with southern heritage couldn’t find it easy to explain he had a male partner, so used his wife as a beard, his over enthusiasm was to cover any chance of anyone working out he was in love with you, and whilst you originally were upset for her, you eventually thought ‘She has a roof over her head & she’s financially together and others aren’t as lucky’ and continued on with your relationship with Karl. However the naked pics and Asian thirsting were starting to get to you, you needed to remind Karl of who he belonged to, and you knew exactly how, a bit of black and a Power Bottom attitude should do the trick, what man could resist a pussy that teased them?

You selected what you needed and placed it out in the bedroom before texting Karl: ‘Babe, we need to talk’ text. Then time came for you to read your vows.

Of course, your vows included the typical “I love you, I’m sorry, I’ll do well for you” to each other. At the time, although said in a sincere way, there was only so much meaning put into those words.

Funny enough, there was a lot you had come to realize the more time you spent with him. It wasn’t like you two had really been able to spend time together away from cameras but you could tell he was being genuine all the time you spent with him. It wasn’t like you’d fallen for him or anything alike but you really did enjoy being with him. You’d noticed so many little things about him and you found yourself treasuring those. You wouldn’t even mention them in the solo interviews. They were yours to keep, whether you two would meet again or not.

When the show ended and you had to part ways, you were genuinely sad. The emotions in that last episode together were truly yours, nothing faked. You spent the day together and ended up having dinner at a nice restaurant near the river, as so planned by the production.

It was a gorgeous night. The restaurant had a rooftop area that was empty for the purpose of the recording of the show so when you two finished your dinner, you moved onto the rooftop for drinks. Weeks went by, the episode aired and the comments were crazy. The audience found that last moment so touching that everyone was rooting for you two to become an actual couple. You couldn’t help but read those comments with a bit of bitterness because after a few days, for a split second, you had wished that too. However, you two seemed to have returned to your lives just like they were before only that for you, everything seemed to remind you of him. You kept telling yourself it was just because you’d spent so much time with him but who knew? You might have actually fallen for him as much as you tried to discard that option.

How many...

How many times have you skipped class? I skipped one day a year back in high school, and that cut was always for this day-long event that the school would arrange to serve as a break from academic classes; for example, for those days we had like themed classes like knitting and it was also usually a themed costume day. I didn’t see the point in it, so I always skipped.

I cut a lot of classes in college that it’s impossible to count because, welp, it’s college lol.

How many times have you kissed the last person you kissed? Hundreds.

How many years have you known your second closest friend? 10 years.

How many alarm clocks are in the house? We don’t have any alarm clocks, but we have alarms built into our phones. If those count, then we have five.

How many people have you argued with? I don’t think I can count this. I’ve had arguments with various people ranging from mild bickering to full-blown fights.

How many times have you watched your favorite movie? I watched it every day for a certain period several years ago and I go back to it at least once every year. It’s probably been a little more than a hundred times.

What would you do if you could never listen to music again? I’d be really distraught over never being able to listen to my favorites anymore. Even if I don’t really listen to music when I’m depressed, i.e. now, I still like having the option to tune in when I feel like it. So even if it won’t be the end of the world, I’d still feel pretty damn lonely.

What would you do if your current bf/gf cheated on you? I don’t have one anymore but I’d be really puzzled and be betrayed if she had, given how much she hates cheaters and the act of cheating.

Greyson Chance walked into the mall right when I was exiting and my first instinct as a 14/15 year old was to grab my phone and start taking photos, even though I wasn’t even a fan and could not name any song of his and was just excited to see a Hollywood person in such a mundane circumstance lol. But it wasn’t the smartest move, obviously. I got to be a little too close just because we were crossing paths; I wasn’t trying to be near him, but that’s what his bodyguard interpreted so he asked me to back off.

Have you ever complained about the last person you spoke to? I don’t think there was ever anything to complain about Hans. We’ve always been on amazing terms and he’s one of the funniest people I know.

For the readers ...

So can we talk? I feel like we need to talk. (fistbump if you watch Rich Lux)

I’m about to get personal because I’ve been noticing a few things over the years and I’m ready to talk.

I’m a writer. I support other writers. Veteran writers and also would-be writers. But I’m also a big reader. And I support the readers too. The fans. I see a lot of entitlement going on with writers sometimes, and I’m here to remind you that yes, writers make content, but readers are the lifesblood of fic.

I kinda took a break from fandom as a writer and then recently, slowly, made my way back to it. I’ve written here and there over the past two years, but nothing crazy like I used to. There’s a lot of reasons. Life gets in the way. Muses go on the fritz. And sometimes a fandom you’re a part of seemingly goes off the rails, a dustbowl moves in.

When I wrote my first fic I had no expectations, just posted into the void of cyberspace. I’d spent a year just reading. I wasn’t really a part of fandom yet, I was a lurker. I posted on ff.net, not quite understanding how to work AO3, and most of the fics I’d read were on ff.net anyway. Tasertricks was my jam, after exhausting all North & South fic, and a little Vampire Diaries. I had zero fandom friends, no tumblr interaction, and only communicated with readers through DMs on ff.net.

When people began to comment on my first fic I was stunned. I didn’t expect anyone to actually read it. I was just practicing, mostly. That’s what it felt like. Posting my Tasertricks fic into the void. For the hell of it.

And then I got readers. I got readers who commented on every chapter. Some of them left long ones, others just a few words, but I cherished all of them. I read them over and over again. It really did fuel my writing sometimes, and I’d find myself writing a paragraph and thinking “hmmm ... i wonder if so-and-so will like that line”. And even if some chapters got less comments than others, I still kept going. I was writing this to get better.

I eventually finished that fic, it’s one of the things I’m most proud of to this day. Manic Taser Dream Girl, my first child. It taught me that I could write a book if I wanted to (and I want to). I made some dear fandom friends, hung out on Tumblr, switched to AO3 and now I can’t imagine spending all my time over on ff.net. You evolve. Fandom evolves.

But sometimes I think back on my first experience with fic and think about the purity of it. I had no expectations, I was writing because it was fun and I loved the source material, and the people who commented were so dear to me.

It gave me a push. It also made me realize how important comments can be to a writer, so I made a conscious effort to make sure and comment on every fic I read, especially if it’s current. I might not comment on a fic that’s 5 years old with 4,000 kudos and 1,000 comments, but a current one, I always try to. I understand the struggle wholeheartedly.

And fandom for the most part has been amazing, it’s kept me going at times, brought me so much joy and cherished friendships. It’s been a beacon of light through depression and anxiety, addiction. A comfort when all else failed. It’s led me to people I have SO MUCH in common with. True friends.

But then on the other hand I observed how other people sometimes come into fandom as an agent of chaos. Divide and conquer types. Energy and muse vampires. I never understood it. I always stood back and mainly watched. I watched my beloved MCU fandom turn into something weird. It wasn’t fun anymore. People drifted away.

It happens in fandoms. People just get interested in other things, it happened to me. I started to write in Vikings. Found a beautiful community there, more dear friends. Stretched my legs. I wrote a fic for The Alienist, even though 10 people watched that show. I wanted to write for smaller fandoms because I wanted to get back to actual writing. I didn’t care about the kudos or the comments anymore, I just wanted to go back to that purity. Me and the void. I don’t know anyone here. I want to post this thing because i love these characters SO DAMN MUCH and they’re in my head. If anyone wants to read it, even better, I love you.

I recently wrote a fic for Stranger Things. Again, no expectations. I could have received 5 kudos and zero comments, I didn’t care, Jopper got in my head. I had to write it. And I FINISHED IT. I was so proud of that. I finished it. Because it was about the love of the material. It was the love of the characters. And there were a few dear sweet commenters that took the time to send me nice words on every chapter, dear sweet people who left kudos, dear sweet people who gave me a hit, and dear sweet people who I’m sure just skimmed through it and clicked to another fic. It’s all good.

I go back to the MCU more frequently now because I truly miss it. I’ve never stopped being a fan. I’m still in the movie theater seat for every MCU film at the first possible viewing. But in fandom I’ve noticed that things are different. Fans are less vocal. Afraid to have opinions. Afraid to comment. Afraid to interact. Scared to have an unpopular opinion. But I tell you, it’s okay to have that unpopular opinion, because someone else out there has it too. And this is how we find each other.

As writers we need to remember what it was like when we were first lurkers and readers, who gradually worked up the nerve to comment, then to interacting on tumblr, and writing our own stuff. It takes time. If we put too much pressure on readers to comment, the readers won’t stay. If we give them too many rules and regulations, they’ll just move on. It’s not a job for us writers, yes, it’s free content, but it’s not a job for them either.

We need to cool it these these “how to comment” manifestos. In the end they’re meaningless and do more harm than good.

If readers feel like they can’t interact, it’ll have an effect throughout fandom, they’ll just stop commenting on everyone’s fic, afraid of displeasing the author with the wrong kind of comment. It might make them not want to write their own fic, dip their own toes in.

You never know what a reader is feeling. It might take everything they have just to log on and give you a little heart, and that has to be enough. Or a kudo. Or someone who’s writing that comment who’s first language isn’t English, and they’re afraid of using the wrong words. What must that feel like? I speak conversational Spanish and I’d never feel confident enough to leave a comment on a Spanish-language fic. But I could leave a heart.

In the end, there’s no right way to do this. There’s only “don’t be a dick”. Don’t be a dick to writers, of course, but also ... don’t be a dick to the readers. The commenters, the people who have been around for years and years and also the ones who are new and still working up the nerve to hang out. To come out of that lurker stage. And hell, even if they never come out of lurking, that’s okay too. We need to give readers and commenters room to get comfortable and to evolve too. Just as our writing grows more comfortable and evolves.

And criticism?

I think I’m in the minority because criticism doesn’t tend to bother me. I know it’s a big issue with a lot of people, many are sensitive about it, but I have a pretty thick skin. Sometimes it’s even easier for me to take criticism than compliments. With a big compliment sometimes it takes me awhile to respond because it’s too big for me, I need time to deal ;-) I need time to stop crying lol.

I haven’t had too many problems with criticism. If anyone tells me about a typo it doesn’t bother me. I’m usually like, THANKS MAN, because I’m dyslexic and words get jumbled up for me. I have to edit and reread my chapters in different fonts to try and catch everything and I still don’t catch stuff. And sometimes I don’t have my work beta’d because well, on one hand I’m impatient sometimes and on the other hand I keep strange hours.

I think some of the worst (and funniest) criticism I ever got was over mentioning Kanye West in Manic Taser Dream Girl, and whenever the commenter complained about it, it just made me want to use Kanye in the fic more ;-) You have to be able to brush that stuff off sometimes. And the mean stuff? Mean comments say more about the commenter than the writer. I’ve always just tried to leave a “hey, thanks for reading anyway” and left it at that. It’s all you can do, really.

I’ve written travel articles for New Orleans publications before and I’ve gotten some really hurtful and nasty comments, under my real name. That will thicken your skin. I don’t mind if someone tells me to knock off the Kanye West references after I’ve been called a yankee carpetbagger libtard who needs to move back to Ohio. I posted a red beans and rice recipe once and you would have thought I personally led General Sherman through New Orleans with the amount of nasty comments I got lol.

It comes with the territory. And I want to write, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What I’m trying to say is, if you get a negative comment, don’t let it stop you from writing. Keep going. Keep learning. Keep getting better. Don’t let the terrorists win. You can always say that you don’t want critique in your author’s notes, but I’d recommend that eventually, you want to just let it go as you evolve as an author, because if you want to ever get to a point where you’re publishing original content, you’re going to need some practice handling whatever comes your way.

Because if I gave my readers a bunch of rules and regulations, or a manifesto on the “right way to comment” (when there is no right way) ... they’re just not gonna comment at all. Fic is not a job for the writer, it’s not a job for the reader either.

The only rule should be “don’t be a dick”. Don’t be a dick writer. Don’t be a dick commenter. Don’t be a dick fandom agent of chaos. Just don’t be a dick and we can have this beautiful thing of fandom and community and support. And laughter and good feels. Everyone feeling as if they’re a part of something awesome. Even the lurkers. They’re at home reading shit and they give that silent fistbump, and I can feel those good vibes even from here.

To all my readers, thanks for all of it. Every single thing. Even those mean Kanye comments. I cherish everything. The kudos. The hearts. The incredible well-wishes from people who are nervous about writing in English. The people who leave comments on every chapter, who follow my work to other fandoms, all of you. Please, never be nervous to interact with me. Ever. I am always ready and willing to cry over our fave characters. Or to help anyone with their work. To give advice. To listen to whatever is going on. If I don’t respond immediately, it’s only because I’m busy or I’m a human disaster and don’t see everything right away.

where they first met and how

We never quite established how they met because we kicked them off as friends but I think it’s safe to say that they met by a combination of two things. First and foremost, by being in the same industry and having mutual friends. It would’ve been all too easy for the two of them to come into contact that way, and slide into each other’s DMs. The second is the fact she has had a very obvious crush on him since the beginning of time.

how long their ‘flirting’ phase was before feelings got involved?

Their flirting stage was surprisingly long and painful. It was just a big back and forth of one of them admitting feelings, the other shutting them down, and then the two of them going out of their way to make the other jealous. She was also keen on not ‘having a boyfriend’ for the first bit, much to his dismay. I would go as far as to say that it lasted a few months.

who fell for who first ( if applicable?

While it may seem like it was Ashley at first, her crush on him was purely on a surface level. As far as who actually decided that they were in love first, it was Harry. In fact, as far as actually falling for him she had a very hard time telling him that.

where their first date was and what it was like?

Their first date was the two of them going to tiny places where no one would catch. on to who they were. It was super cute and it was just the two of them acting like they were sixteen for a few hours.

who asks who out and how ( with a sign? spelled out on a cake? just a simple ‘will you go out with me’? )

Harry asked her out first. Although he didn’t even technically ask her, and he had to convince her instead. Even then, wasn’t it just sort of a mutual agreement?

who proposes first

It will definitely be Harry because he is the romantic of the two. However, it is definitely far off for them. I think that they’re both very aware of the fact they have things to work on - separately and together. They are perhaps the farthest from marriage.

if they keep / kept their relationship secret or let everyone know right away

They didn’t necessarily keep it a secret, but they also didn’t want to make a big deal out of it. I feel like being public is a very recent thing for them, especially because one of their favorite things is just time alone together. So, yes, it was a secret - even if that wasn’t really their intention.

where the proposal happens and how ( kiss cam at a baseball game? on a hillside surrounded by ducks? at a disney park? )

It will probably happen in one of their homes because that is where they are the. most comfortable. Although they are both quite extra, I think that their engagement would be very simple because that is the best way to summarize their relationship. They’d just pretend it wasn’t that big of a deal, you know?

if they adopt any pets together

They each have their own separate pets, but the way they act they share both. of them. I think that it’s safe to say. that as they progress, and especially once they live together ( if they ever get there ) they will definitely indulge in adopting more animals because they’re both such enthusiastic pet owners.

who’s more dominant?

This question is. so funny because it is both of them. They are both constantly battling which one of them is going to be the dominant one that day. Although overall, I think Harry usually wins, but that isn’t from lack of trying on her part.

where their first kiss was and what it was like?

Their first official kiss happened when both of them were drunk together. We both know how that turned out. It was very lust-driven and ended up with the two of them getting on in a bathroom stall. Kudos to these two for keeping it spicy. I do think that before that he probably tried to kiss her on the nights she picked him up, but she was usually not too thrilled with him so it wasn’t successful.

if they have any matching couples stuff ( mugs? sweaters? pillowcases? )

I think that the funniest part of the two of them is that they have so many matching things but that it isn’t on purpose. They like all of the same things, and it ends up being an accident. Although as the two of them have gotten sweeter with one another, I think that it will open up the door to matching jewelry, matching decor, etc. I don’t see them taking a step into matching clothing, but I think that a lot of clothes sharing happens.

how into pda they are?

For two people that are as affectionate as they are, PDA is very new for them. They just started holding hands, what, a week ago? But it is safe to say that although the two of them are new to it, they are also very enthusiastic about it. They’re big fans of showing each other off, and we both know how they feel about getting spicy in public places.

who holds the umbrella when it rains

The only reason it is Harry is the fact that he is taller. I think that if it wasn’t for height it would depend on who is wearing the most extravagant outfit, and what her hair is doing that day. This goes back to the two of them being extra! It just depends!

where their usual ‘date spot’ is ( if applicable )

They do not go frequently on dates. Unless you count her bed as their usual date spot. I think they just cherish the time they have together, and they like to spend it on their own terms.

who’s more protective

This is a loaded question because it depends on the situation. In terms of protective when it comes to other people, that goes to Harry. However, that isn’t to say that Ashley isn’t completely batshit when it comes to these things. But we can’t neglect the fact that she is protective over him because of his ( cough - their shared ) addiction.

how long it is before they sleep together ( can be as in ‘had sex’ or as in ‘shared a bed’ )

They had shared a bed before they actually slept together. She’d bring him home, and then she’d spend the night with him to make sure that he was alright. It was sickening. As far as when they had sex, that was before they even dated and it’s safe to say they were the worst.

if they argue about anything

HAHAHA. They argue constantly. They get heated frequently and are always at each other’s throats. I would like to see them go a week without her trying to start a fight with him but I truly do not think it is possible.

who leaves more marks ( lipstick, hickeys, scratchmarks etc. )

They both get very enthusiastic when it comes to leaving marks, but Harry definitely wins this one. I think it’s because he gets creative with where he leaves them, but it’s also safe to say that he doesn’t really care if she has to cover them up - I think he almost takes pride in it.

who steals whose clothes and how often

They steal each other’s clothes. They both dress so fluidly that it leaves room for them to trade things back and forth. He’s over at her place more often, but I think she steals his things most often. You know she constantly has ‘Treat People With Kindness’ plastered all over her.

how they cuddle ( spooning? facing each other? )

They are definitely a spooning couple, if nothing else because he wants to be able to be close to her ass. It is just the fact of the matter. They are also definitely the type of couple where their cuddling is pretty much always naked.

what their favourite nonsexual activity ?

Definitely listening to music together. They both appreciate music too much to not appreciate just putting on a record and simply vibing together. I also think a big one for them is to cook together - whenever they can find things that they’re both willing to eat. Spoiler alert: that is rare.

how long they stay mad at each other

It really depends on the argument. They both get very heated, and they also both tend to get petty. Some of their less serious arguments can get solved quickly, but they’ve also been known to hold on to an issue for weeks at a time.

what their usual coffee / tea orders are

Hers usually ends up being a latte with some form of alternative milk, I’m calling oat milk as her favorite. I can see him either going for an herbal tea or a plain black coffee because his personality just screams that.

if they ever have any children together

They have both established that they want children together, and I do believe that they will get there eventually but it certainly won’t be for a long time. It’s something that even she is passionate about, she really wants to be a mom, and I think she knows deep down that she wants that to be with Harry.

if they have any special pet names for each other

They don’t have anything specific, aside from little things to tease one another. They definitely just throw around ‘babe’ a lot, although a lot of the pet names he has for her are saved for the bedroom.

if they ever split up and / or get back together?

I can see the two of them having a pretty nasty break up, but. I am also sure that they would get back together in the end. I would go as far as to say that they will probably break up repeatedly down the line given how often she suggests it, but they’d always find their way back to each other because they are kind of addicted.

what their shared living space is like ( messy? clean? what kind of decor? )

They are both clean people, and they have that going for them. Their shared space would be so fucking cute decor-wise, especially given how quirky the both of them are. The biggest reason I want them to live together is that their house would be so fucking cool. Can you imagine what their closet alone would look like? They’d have so much fun decorating together.

what their first christmas / hanukkah / etc as a couple was like

I do believe that this is their first Christmas together and they haven't established what it is going to look like yet. I think that it will end up with him actually meeting her family, or they. will end up spending it together. They are fairly bad at being away from each other, and they’re both festive people - they’re going to want to celebrate no matter how they do it.

what their names are in each other’s phones

They change constantly. Ashley specifically changes his whenever she is annoyed with him. I do think that as they’ve grown, his is just a collection of emojis. For his phone, I can totally see hers just being ‘Babe’ and her thinking that it isn’t adequate enough.

if they have any ‘couple traditions’ ( buying a new mug for their collection every year? baking every friday evening? )

They don’t have any specific traditions because their lives are so hectic. They always bend their plans to each other’s schedules ( except that one time ) and therefore their plans together are constantly evolving. They are pretty willing to spend any time together, and they don’t necessarily focus on traditions.

who falls asleep first and who wakes up first?

It depends on which one of them has a project going on. If they aren’t busy they pretty much equal and go to bed / wake up at the same time. I don’t see either of them being more of a morning person than the other.

who’s the big spoon / little spoon?

He isconsistently big spoon. Although she convinces him that she should be on occasion. Again, their relationship is a constant battle for dominance.

who hogs the bathroom?

This also depends on who has projects going on. But on a normal day, it is definitely Ashley. But I think that he’s understanding of it given the fact that they exist in the same industry. I can see him just sitting there and watching her try to do her makeup. He’d totally just make jokes and try to touch her the entire time.

who kills the spiders / takes them outside?

I think that it mostly falls on Ashley, but I don’t think that either of them are particularly anti spider - they both. just take them outside.

Leo is a sweetheart, so kind and humble and open with his thoughts, and his smile is so beautiful my heart hurts 💘 for Mark, it’s how cute and hard-working he is, and how easy he finds things interesting and funny~ and Leeteuk is just a big, pretty ball of weird who manages to make me laugh at any time~ 💕

Movie Review: Aladdin (Spoilers)

Spoiler Warning: I am posting this review a few days after the movie is first released in the U.K, so if you haven’t yet seen the movie do not read on until you have.

Characters:

I just want to clarify as it may not have come across in my non-spoiler review, I really enjoyed this movie. I think, once you get yourself out of the mindset that this movie needs comparison to the original animated movie, it’s a very fun and immersive movie with rather vibrant characters that echo their original animated counterparts.

As usual, this list will be in order of my favourites and not of their role in the movie for reasons I will go into with each character.

Jasmine:

By far and away Jasmine is my favourite character in this movie. Naomi Scott elevates the already well-established ethnic princess and gives her both a purpose and a story outside of her romance with Aladdin.

The romance is still there and is also elevated from the original animated version, but the fact that Guy Ritchie and the writers give Jasmine her own arc in the movie of wanting to rule Agrabah so she can better help her people was a great way to take the character without making her way too much of a feminist princess as Emma Watson’s Belle was.

I really loved the running theme of Jafar and even The Sultan pretty much dismissing Jasmine’s political ideas as the wimperings of a woman which led to Jasmine eventually having the courage to speak up and be heard by convincing Hakim the guard to stand by her.

I did feel that her new song, which was used a couple of times throughout the movie, was a great fit for the character and her development in the movie, even though the styling of the song didn’t really fit with the Arabian theme.

I really enjoyed the twist the movie took on Jasmine taking to the streets in peasant form, not only was her styling clearly more royal than her peasant disguise in the animated movie which I am glad Aladdin commented on, but the fact she went so far as to pretend to be her handmaiden not only when they first meet but also when Aladdin visits her at the palace made for a comedic spin on things.

But also we are pretty much introduced to Jasmine as soon as we are Aladdin in this remake so, if for some reason you were unaware Naomi Scott was playing Jasmine in the movie you would believe what she was saying.

I really loved her styling in this movie, Naomi Scott is a very beautiful woman and this movie highlights that. While I think her turn in Power Rangers gave her a grungy rocker look, being an Arabian princess obviously gives the actress the chance to look glamorous, but that’s not all she was which worked well for her.

But in terms of her outfits, she had a couple of distinctive looks. But the character’s classic attire does make an appearance during the A Whole New World scene but I do not know if that means it’s supposed to be undergarments or not, because while she’s wearing that pink dress that she first wore when meeting Prince Anders and then again at the climax of the movie, it did look as if the turquoise leggings from that outfit were under the dress.

Rajah was used very well in this movie, I didn’t really understand why everyone was calling him a cat rather than a tiger but I guess having a pet cat is easier to believe than a pet tiger.

I really liked it when he showed his aggression towards Prince Anders and Jafar, they do say cats can sense evil, I’m not saying Anders is evil but he isn’t right for Jasmine as Rajah knew because he was loving towards Aladdin even disguised as Prince Ali.

Also when Jafar ordered Jasmine be removed from the palace and Rajah instantly went on the defensive and warned off the guards away from his master, that was just really good to see. I’m not saying it wouldn’t have been nice to see Jafar turn him into a kitten, but what we got elevated the character more than the animated movie did.

Genie:

I am not saying I take back any negative thoughts I had about Will Smith’s Genie look from that teaser that dropped, but I almost forgive it because I enjoyed Will Smith in this movie so much.

Okay yes, as the big blue Genie, the CGI was wonky and disproportioned the character’s body so much. However, Will Smith’s charisma and comedy really shined through and almost distracted me fully from that.

Some of my funniest moments in this movie came from him, I am not a big Will Smith fan but in recent years, more specifically with Suicide Squad and now this, I can actually see what others see in him because when he’s invested in a role he is invested.

One of my favourite scenes is when Prince Ali first meets the Sultan and Jasmine and while Mena Massoud’s comedy is there and is meant to fall flat, Genie is just standing there so poised yet internally he is screaming. I loved how he was essentially telling Aladdin what to say which I guess is the point of an adviser to a prince but Aladdin quite clearly had no clue as he stayed too focused on jams and went so far as to say he wanted to buy Jasmine.

I also loved in that same scene when Aladdin is trying to laugh off his own stupidity and keeps slapping Genie on the back, Genie just grins and says “Don’t touch me”, I would have been him in that situation because yeah you are already dying so why make it worse.

Then the party scene which I think directly follows that scene, Genie just becomes such a diva as when he discovers Aladdin has never been to a party he just turns and says “Alright then you need to leave as you’re not ruining this for me”. I love it.

This Genie did seem to emphasise more of his development and backstory than the Robin Williams version did. All we know about the animated Genie is that he wants to be free, here he has a love story and you feel the weight of the centuries he has been slave to the lamp.

Then with explaining the rules of the genie, again he did a better job here than the original animated movie did because it seemed to answer a few plot holes that the original had, for example the importance of being specific with wishes because “I wish for you to make me a prince” could literally be the genie creating a random prince for Aladdin. I also love that theme of grey areas around wishing that came back nicely in the climax.

Then of course the moral of this movie, and the original to a degree, is being true to who you are will win you the day was utilized brilliantly here. The added commentary of Genie asking Aladdin why he wants to become a prince in Jasmine already likes him as him as well as the line about Genie changing Aladdin on the outside but not the inside, but then they go further than they did in the original Aladdin with having this Aladdin actually buying his own con of thinking he is a prince and that’s why he has to break his promise to Genie to set him free on his third wish.

It is the same thing that happens in the original but here from the end of A Whole New World where Aladdin starts saying “Actually I kind of am a prince now” and Genie just says��“Oh okay, you’re going to drink from that cup” it just seems as though Aladdin is being taken in by the power he has despite him being so sure that he’s not that type of guy.

Also the fact Genie has a love story in this movie so he finds a purpose after being freed rather than just “off to see the world” was rather nice. I also thought that his chemistry with Dalia was very sweet. It did mirror the Aladdin/Jasmine relationship rather well but the fact that we know to expect that relationship as opposed to this new one made it that much more interesting.

Will Smith’s rapping has always been part of his charm dating back to The Fresh Prince of Bel Air but here and now with Will putting his own musical spin on all these classic songs was interesting to see. On the whole I enjoyed what he did with them but I’m not about to say they were as good as the original, save for Arabian Nights in the opening.

His reasoning for remaining in human form here was a lot more organically done than say Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique. When he looked like Will Smith it was because he was in disguise as Prince Ali’s adviser and then at the end of the movie it turns out that is him when he’s human.

Dalia:

With Dalia, my love of her kind of ties in with both Jasmine and Genie so it makes sense that she is third, but a lot of that is also because Nasim Pedrad gives a scene-stealing performance to a role that fans dismissed as “Why does Jasmine need a handmaiden and why is she so prominent in the promotions?” Watch the movie and you will know why.

I loved the comedic charm and genuine likeability that Dalia had here, not only in interactions with Jasmine but also the Genie.

First of all, I knew that Genie’s wife in the opening scene who had her back to the audience was Dalia. Not only with how the woman looked but also why keep her secret unless it was going to be a reveal at some point in the movie?

Now granted, I did not think that Genie was going to have a love interest in the movie but I am glad he did, I am also glad that Dalia wasn’t just the handmaiden or the love interest but she stood out as her own person. Granted we don’t know anything about her character other than being a handmaiden or love interest but she’s shown as a good friend to Jasmine and able to hold her own against both Genie and Aladdin.

I really loved her reaction to when Genie made it known to her that he was interested in her and she remained having a composed exterior until she closed the door, turned to Jasmine and acted like a teenager. Also the scene when we first meet her and she has to act as Princess Jasmine but doesn’t quite understand that’s what she has to do and Nasim Pedrad really sells that scene.

Also my favourite line of hers is right at the end when Genie asks her if he’ll travel the world with him and she responds with “When do we leave also I want children”...if someone said that to me I would not be so sure of their sanity but the fact the Genie is over 10,000 years old it’s understandable that he is okay with that.

Aladdin:

Now as for our titular hero, Mena Massoud does a great job at looking like Aladdin and almost sounding like Aladdin. But there is something missing from his performance that makes it seem disjointed in places.

I think the direction they wanted to take this version of the character in was to try and make him a rogue, which it could be argued the original was in the same way that Han Solo or Jack Sparrow are, but then all that goes as soon as he gets his wish to be a prince and then it just becomes more about his ego being inflated.

I get being poor and living in a hovel he’d want to cling on to the taste of the good life he got, but Genie kept telling him and the character of Aladdin is so likeable because he has a good heart and is only deceitful to get the foot in the door, like Genie said Aladdin has to open it and go in.

On the positives, I did like how street savvy they made him, not only in knowing where Jasmine should go when they’re running away from that merchant but also in how he potentially rigged up that pulley staircase to his home.

It reminded me of Belle with her inventions in the live-action Beauty and the Beast. I know they didn’t focus on that aspect of him as much but it was good that this movie focused on his more intuitive side than the original animated version did in making him just seem to stumble into these things.

His styling was interesting, it wasn’t the small hat and shirtless vest look that he had in the animated version but I think it was a more authentic and appropriate outfit for a live-action movie.

His Prince Ali attire, may be more culturally appropriate than how it was in the animated movie, although it did look similar, but I just missed the big blue feather and the cape-like back to the outfit.

I thought Aladdin’s interactions were Abu were very genuine, Mena Massoud acting as if he was actually talking to a monkey was very believable. I did love it when Abu picked up that ruby and his eyes went almost exactly like they did in the animated movie was rather funny.

Carpet didn’t get much screen-time here but then again he didn’t really have much screentime in the original either. It did seem as if he was always either getting stuck or tangled by something, but aside from that there wasn’t really much to him.

Although I did find it interesting during A Whole New World how Carpet needed to be steered because being a sentient magical being you would think Jasmine literally taking the reigns would be slightly degrading.

Overall I feel Mena Massoud was a good fit for the character but probably not the best choice out there. He had a great look and winning smile but there just seemed something disjointed personality wise.

Jafar:

Jafar was the biggest problem for me in the movie. Right from when Marwan Kenzari was cast I knew I wasn’t going to be on board with this version of the character.

The problem is, Kenzari could have been a great villain if this wasn’t Aladdin and he wasn’t portraying one of the best Disney villains of all-time. In the way that Mena Massoud had the look and charm of Aladdin down, Kenzari did not look like Jafar, sound like Jafar or act like Jafar should.

They did go in a different direction with the character which is something I think fitting for this version. Having a bit of a back-story revealed with Jafar starting off as a thief but then becoming the Royal Vizor was a great commentary on the kind of life Aladdin could have had if he went down a certain route.

Also the line Jafar had of “Steal an apple you’re a thief, steal a kingdom you’re a conqueror” was a great line and delivered rather well.

I did enjoy the new political elements that they had in the movie, whereas in the original Jafar was the way he was because he simply wanted to be Sultan for the power, here he wanted to invade Jasmine’s mother’s kingdom and have Agrabah be the main kingdom of power.

I didn’t know what to make of Iago, I did feel the loss of Gilbert Godfried but I don’t know if that is a good or a bad thing. This movie did make Iago be more like an average parrot which I guess was a good move rather than having him talking as freely as the human characters, also he did seem more sinister rather than a comedic character.

The fact that the climax of the movie we didn’t get Jafar as a giant snake and instead having a giant Iago as the predator in quite a brilliant carpet chase to get the lamp was an interesting choice. I like the fact again that they made Iago more villainous but Jafar turning into the snake before turning into the Red Genie is so iconic that I don’t know if I miss it or not.

As for Jafar’s motivations in the movie, I did genuinely feel like this Jafar was having a tantrum whenever he didn’t get his way like when he first meets Aladdin as Prince Ali, loved him being illuminated by the red firework by the way, and Ali is trying to get away and Jafar snaps, if that were me I’d be thinking “Yeah you’re unhinged”.

The “second best” theme that ran through the movie for Jafar was well done, from the start of the movie when his henchmen are bringing him “ruffs” rather than the diamond in the ruff that he needs for the Cave of Wonders and he was getting frustrated because he sought out the lamp and needed the diamond to do it and yet when his one henchman is saying “What’s so wrong with second?” and Jafar just ranted about how he must be first.

Then at the end when Aladdin calls back to the “second best” remark as he does in the animated movie which leads Jafar to wish himself into being a Genie, it did seem more organic but in terms of this version of the character it just seemed as if “Baby wants his lamp, baby wants the power” rather than a formidable opponent that he is in the animated movie.

Others:

There weren’t that many more characters to focus on, the three that stood out were Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders, who I know is supposed to be similar to Prince Achmed but was in it for longer than Achmed was, then Navid Negahban as the Sultan who was a lot more seriously than the cuddly comedic version from the animated movie and also Numan Acar as Hakim who was supposed to be Razoul the Palace Guard.

Songs:

Alright so I enjoyed all of the songs to some degree in this movie and as such rather than going Best, Worst and Mediocre. I will instead be talking about them in order of my favourites.

Speachless:

Speachless was my favourite song of the movie, not only do I love these types of empowerment songs but I feel rather than just having meaning of Jasmine’s feelings of oppression, the song applies to anyone with feelings of oppression.

Naomi Scott was a surprisingly brilliant singer and the fact the song was sung in two parts of the movie made for a great tease resulting in a great climax.

I also enjoyed the visuals of Jasmine in this dream state of seemingly banishing the guards away into dust.

Arabian Nights:

In terms of songs that were reworked from the original animated movie, Arabian Night was probably my favourite because of how it sets up the movie.

It isn’t as visually interesting as the original animated version because it doesn’t have the colour pallet of the Peddler going across the desert. However, the visual styling of the camera floating through the streets of Agrabah as if we as the audience were on the Magic Carpet was very cool.

Will Smith’s singing is best here, I don’t know what they do to it but for some reason his voice doesn’t sound like him here. Also the Arabian instruments being used to emphasise the grandeur of the number was great.

A Whole New World:

This is arguably the most romantic Disney duet out there and both Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott emphasise why.

Yes the scale of the number is toned down because rather than going to Egypt, Greece and China, they only seem to visit neighbouring countries. It was still great and the fact that they made clear that Jasmine doesn’t get out of the Palace at all helps with the fact that anything outside of Agrabah is a whole new world to her.

Also the singing is rather close to the original, yes Mena Massoud isn’t the best singer but it does match with the original version quite well. Naomi Scott again is the best part about this number.

Friend Like Me:

Alright so I have already stated and it is well established that Will Smith is not a naturally born singer, however I think he was helped out a lot by the fact that Friend Like Me is more of a talking-rap style song than it is an actual song, or at least this is how Smith himself saw it.

I loved the visuals, the differences in lyrics like when Genie went “Mr...uh what’s your name?” rather than “Mr. Aladdin sir” were good fits for the song and I really enjoyed Abu on the drums and Carpet with the maracas at the start of the number.

It visually had everything great about the original animated version, but with Will Smith’s own spin on it.

Prince Ali:

Again, everyone who has seen that clip they released prior to the movie will be hating on this number. I do agree this is the weakest in terms of Will Smith’s vocals, but I really like what he did as the Genie with the song.

Yes he wasn’t as zainy and didn’t interact with the crowd as much as the animated version did but again when you’re talking animation vs. live-action it’s always going to be a rough transition.

My favourite part was when he turned himself into a woman, again like the original animated version, but with a new comedic twist of having his veil torn off and revealing the beard. It was quite comedic.

One Jump Ahead:

Weakest number, weakest vocals. Mena Massoud tries and I give him credit for that but considering the energy the original version had, bearing in mind there isn’t really a lot that is visually difficult to transition from the animated version here, it’s really just the vocals that let it down.

I did like the fact Jasmine was involved in this number, not singing but she was in the scene and it’s almost like Aladdin was singing to her rather than just the audience.

That last line as well where originally Aladdin jumps out the window on that carpet but instead here he dumps the carpet and swings through the window to make it look like he fell through the roof, I liked the intuitiveness of it but the fact the song just ended simply on the note of “Jump!” rather than “Juuuuuuump!” left me a little bit underwhelmed.

Conclusion:

Do I think this is a perfect movie? No, it definitely has its problems as I have highlighted. However, while it doesn’t quite capture everything that makes the original so iconic, it still keeps the magic alive and has its own uniqueness which hopefully allows fans to appreciate both interpretations.

The acting is good in general with standouts being Will Smith, Naomi Scott and Nasim Pedrad. There are two brilliant bollywood-style dance scenes which are fantastic. The comedy is really well done particularly again from Will Smith and Nasim Pedrad.

Yes the villain is a letdown particularly being Jafar who is up there with Maleficent and Cruella as the best and baddest Disney villains, but hopefully it won’t be such a focus on that and more on the changes they made that are good, elevating Jasmine into a political leader rather than just someone who wants to make her own choices, Genie turning human and finding love, all these good elements really work.

Overall I rank the movie an 8/10, Jafar being weak did lower the score as well as the songs which again were good but not as strong as the original save for Arabian Nights and new song Speechless.

Kpop ship for quentin anon

Howdy doody everyone! hah, we’re getting creative with intros now lol. Today, I have a ship for an anon who goes by quentin. If you are reading this quentin, 1) hello! and 2) I hope you enjoy <3 PS, I missed y’all :(

Based off of your request, I gathered these facts about you;

Day6: Jae

The first thought I had for you and Jae was the famous ‘American Gothic’ painting by Grant Wood. Visually, you’d both have that expressionless look on your faces but in reality, you’re actually a happy sunshine couple. As I was thinking about how you two met, I thought you starting out as roommates would be so cute and clever. You would be new in the city, and the only apartment you could afford was Jae’s and he needed a roommate. The pieces all fit together perfectly. Based on first impressions, seeing all his amps and guitars and other musical items would be a little over-whelming, but he would assure you that you would never need to mess with anything or help him- he’s a big boy. Band practice would be a little hit and miss, sometimes they would be there, sometimes they wouldn’t, then if they were, you would leave so you can get a piece of mind. The first six months of living together would be awkward and you wouldn’t talk much. However, one rainy day when both your and Jae’s plans got canceled, you would start to bond, and you two would develop a relationship. As you two would get to know each other, you two would see each others humors, and you’d see the best and worst in each other. You both would be so blunt with each other in the funniest ways, you would never take comments seriously. Slowly, as time would go on, your friendship would slowly transform into romantic feelings. Jae would be very soft for you, and you admired Jae in a way you could never fully explain, so eventually you two said you were together. You fit together like two peas in a pod and when you became official, it was very liberating. Your friends and Jae’s friends weren’t surprised, since you two fit together so well, it was a matter of time before they called it- they were all happy for you regardless. You two would also be a very domestic couple btw. Hear me out, cause this’ll sound crazy but, Jae is the best worst housewife ever. When Jae would try to do household stuff he would fail but if he wouldn’t try he would succeed. He wouldn’t be the best at cooking, but would be a really good baker. That means a lot of sugar which means a lot of random decisions, like teaching you how to play guitar. There would be a lot of screaming singing followed by that by the way. Pillow talk would be huge for your two as well! Lastly, I would like to talk PDA/affection. A LOT of hand holding. He would love the softness of your hands. He also would love to droop his arm over your shoulder, then you would hold it, you would look so comfortable, and adorable, like the king and queen you are.

Got7: Jinyoung

Much like my last ship went, there will be a lowkey theme to this ship: domestication. I don't know why I’ve been into themes recently, but it’s here. You two would be a soft couple that would love to admire one another. You two would also be an artsy couple. Rooting from a college type of au, Jinyoung’s art would be photography while your art would be writing, writing to your hearts content. Being the artsy couple you are, you two would spend so much quality time together! You two would also have your fair share of going out and being active and staying at the apartment together. Staying home isn’t always a bad thing either. You two are still equally as giggly and peppy with each other, so you two never have a dull moment and there are smiles and sunshine all around. I want to touch on quiet time real quick because I love the thought of it. Quiet time would include a lot of snuggles. Any kind of snuggles you can think of where you’re either laying on top of each other, or he’s snuggled to you, or you’re snuggled to him, SNUGGLES. Quiet time also includes you two working on your interests. While Jinyoung is on his laptop editing some pictures for his portfolio, you are right by him, jotting down the thoughts in your head, coming up with new ideas, or continuing another idea- the world is your oyster. Moving right along is date night. Park Jinyoung on date night is the best boyfriend material ever. If you’re at home, he sets up fairy lights all over the apartment, he cooks, and he gets a little dressed up. He wants to look clean for you, and just imagine forehead Jinyoung in this scenario #yesmama. Also, a little thing Jinyoung would love to do is slow dance with you. Then when you two go out, you got to so many different places- basically til you get tired and want to take a nap lol. Personally, Jinyoung would like to take you to your favorite places such as to eat or do an activity with. He would LOVE going out for karaoke, so of course you two would go out and do the stuff he enjoys too. You also have an amazing food taste, so who could argue with that, right? A lot of dinner topics include deep talks about what you want to accomplish separately and together, and you also love to talk about your futures together, a fan favorite. Then when you would get home, some major pillow talk sessions. These sessions would be more playful like small debates over how to toilet paper roll should go, a lot of giggles and smiles. Lastly more PDA. Gentle hands holding yours, he would handle you like you were made of glass. So many forehead kisses, and the sweetest eye smiles you’ll ever see.

NCT: Jaehyun

You and Jaehyun yet again scream such a soft puppy like love aesthetic and it’s hard not to uwu over it. Jaehyun is your sunshine while you are his flower, like, you to need each other. Jaehyun would be absolutely head over heels in love with you tbh, like this bub is going to FALL. You two are that type of couple that is a get and go type of couple, and the world is your oyster. Traveling would be your thing, Jaehyun would want to take you everywhere he possibly could. With his occupation being a huge help in your wishes to travel, you would get to tag along on trips and such, and you and Jaehyun would travel anytime he got free time tbh. And this is super cute, listen up. So, you two would keep EVERYTHING you would get from traveling. Whether it’s plane/bus tickets, post cards, souvenirs, and of course your pictures, everything gets saved. Everything that can be put in a scrap book goes in a scrap book. It would be super cute if you two would have little books dedicated to every trip, and you’d keep them nicely organized on a ship by date or by location. Keeping those scrap books are great for always reliving the memories you two shared. Then, if you two aren’t out and about traveling or on a date, Sunday’s are your golden days- specifically if they’re rainy or it’s winter. Those Sunday’s are your time to relax and cuddle, and you also take those Sunday’s to work on your scrap books! Jae is also the type of boyfriend that loves to take great interest in your interests. Another one of those Sunday’s include making cute little stories together. Jae would love to collab on little stories with you! Again, those rainy days are full of endless possibilities, so, if you or Jae have an idea, you best believe that you two are coming up with a full out plot and characters, and even getting as far as getting a chapter or two written down. And a lot of the time, those little stories get tossed into a notebook, and it’s always fun to forget about it then come back at a later time and find it again. Moving on, you and Jae wouldn’t necessarily have date nights. You two spend so much time together, that every time you’re together is like date night. Of course Jae will take you out on special occasions like anniversaries or birthdays, but making homemade pizza or take out it the best way for you two to go. And omg so many game nights! Card games are your shit, and tbh, UNO would get crazy. Lastly PDA wise, Jae is all about that hand holding and cheek and lip kisses. He also loves to hug you, all the time, so prepared to have a koala bear attached to you.

VIXX: Hakyeon

When I think of you and Hakyeon, you two would be the perfect wild and mild couple. Joking and cracking jokes is always a must by the way. You two have interesting senses of humor so, you two always are playfully picking on each other and being playfully sarcastic to each other. Part of that playful sarcastic antics you two would do is being overly-sensitive with each other. I know that sounds weird but hear me out. It’s super cute when you two pick at each other. Hakyeon would like to pick at your quirks- mostly because your quirks is what makes you unique and your quirks is also one of the many reasons why he loves you. When you playfully roll your eyes as he picks, Hakyeon would just smile at you and he would say “I love you”. It’s actually super soft at the end of the day tbh. And overall, Hakyeon is very considerate of you. Hakyeon is also a very protective boyfriend, and he will always make sure you know that as well. And he isn’t sorry about it either and you don’t mind it either, it helps you feel safe and wanted. Dancing together is your everything by the way. From Hakyeon teaching you a new dance to even learning new dance styles together, you two dance so much. Filming your dances together is also always a thing, you have a camera that is specifically for dancing. And it’s always fun to go back and watch those videos and seeing how much progress you’ve made since you started learning a specific dance. Also, you two are the king and queen of practice room antics. Teasing each other, pinching each others tushies(to be specific) is only the beginning. And of course, anytime you get to dance with Hakyeon’s fellow group members, you all stay in the practice for literally hours just dancing and goofing off. Learning the choreo and the boys love to pick at you, and then if you’re doing the choreo better than one of the members, you can see a roast fest in your future. Moving onto date night, date night is always a surprise with Hakyeon. Double or triple dates with your friends, or cute little pop-up dates like carnivals or little shopping trips- curtesy by your lovely boyfriend. Spoiling you is one of his specialties, he loves it so much. You’re his number one, so of course he would want to treat you like a number one. And, you are also as protective of him like he is to you. And tbh, Hakyeon would love that you are protective over him, you’re his little fire cracker. Lastly, PDA. He’s very hands on, he loves to have a hand holding something, he loves to know that you are around him. Back hugs, and forehead kisses, especially quick pecks, it’s a cute little detail enough to make an impact, because it would leave you in a flush.

Ken-Chan’s Fan Event!!!

I basically died and ascended so I’m writing this from beyond this world.

Have a peek under the Read More if you guys are interested in hearing about this fan event! Unlike the Donut Conferences, I don’t think he’s making a DVD of this one.

OK so ken-chan's event was in this little basement cafe with like... 60 people max. Super close quarters, and I saw him and Hiroki and Justin closer than when we were second row at Takato's event. UGHHHHH HE'S SOOOOOO CUUUUUTE They all were, but obviously Ken-chan in particular. Especially with his current longer hair, he looks especially boyish.

At first he just like quietly appeared out of nowhere from the back and everyone was like wait, what? what?? lololol Then he made his way over to the "stage" area and took the microphone to say hi to us, make sure that we grabbed food from the buffet, etc... He actually started the event with circling around the tables and taking photos with everyone (which I think took everyone by surprise because that's usually done last). So he took photos with everyone and was restricted to 20 seconds at each table to chat lol. The staff kept him on-time otherwise I think he would’ve definitely gone over.

I told him it was my first time at one of his events, which made him happy and then he asked me how I got to know about him, so I said Engeki, and then I told him I came from America to watch it and to come to this event and he was happily surprised. He was gonna ask me another thing but time was up! Not much anyone can say in 20 seconds if you’re trying for an actual conversation lol.

For the guest corner he kept giving us clues and I think we all knew who they'd be but everyone was shy so nobody spoke up to guess who. And then Justin and Hiroki came out and there was cheering and clapping~♡♡♡ (There’s a part of me that is deeply amused to have seen Hiroki twice in three days and both times at some other actor’s event where he was a ‘secret guest’ LOL. For not going to an Ino Hiroki event, I’ve seen him quite a bit lately lol) Instead of going to Ken-chan first, Hiroki decided to be a little shit (like always) and he went for the buffet table instead and Ken-chan was like, “Later! You can eat later!”

Ahhhhhh seeing the three of them together like old times was sooo -clutches heart- And they were really happy about it too. Hiroki and Justin hung out just yesterday with Kage-chan to watch the World Cup, and Ken-chan knew about that but he doesn't know anything about soccer. But he actually decided to watch some yesterday and thought Senegal's coach was really cool, and then he said the Japanese goalkeeper was cool and the other two were just like, “yeah.... no comment.” I also don’t know anything about soccer, but my twitter timeline seems to have mixed feelings about the Japanese goalkeeper and I’m assuming Justin and Hiroki don’t really like him lol. Justin had been a guest at a previous donut conference, and Hiroki has gone to one before, and he asked, “How is this any different from a donut conference?” Since this particular fan event is named differently and stuff lol. But the whole theme of this one is to just “relax” so for example, there’s no Kenko appearance, and based on the DVDs I’ve seen, the donut conferences tend to be a little bit more elaborate in content. More like Takato’s event that I saw probably. But this one was meant to be smaller, more easygoing, more intimate.

If there was ever any doubt that the "Today's Third Years" videos were ken-chan's idea, no more reason to doubt lol. The other two were whining about being tired after Engeki performances but Ken-chan would always come up to them with, "So for today's theme!!" Justin pointed out how much thought Ken-chan put into those themes all the time. Hiroki apparently wasn't overly fond of the one where he was the boy catching bugs and Ken-chan was the cicada and Justin was the mantis. Which cracked me up because that's probably one of my favorites and also Hiroki arguably got the best part since he wasn't a bug lol But Hiroki likes to complain tho lol. And still he admitted that because Ken-chan was always so excited about them he'd get into them too, and Justin agreed to that.

Keeping with the Engeki stories: Apparently one time in the dressing rooms, Justin's personal makeup mirror was missing, but his and only his, and he was confused and wondering, “...are they telling me not to wear makeup??” And Ken-chan said, “You could just go on stage without makeup, you look good enough to not need it.” But Justin replied, "Ok but like, Asahi is Japanese. And I have this foreigner face. And I have to try and make my eyes look smaller." So then Ken-chan asked the crowd, “Who does their make-up in the mornings and tries to make their eyes look smaller?” Obviously nobody raised their hand and Justin answered, “Pretty sure it’s just me. Just me.”

English became a topic at one point and Justin admitted he's stopped taking English lessons because he’s gotten too busy to go. That and, "I also realized I could just practice by talking to my family." And Hiroki was like YOU SHOULD'VE REALIZED THAT FROM THE START! Hiroki also wanted to brush up so he recently bought a textbook for self-study, but he said it was too hard. Lots of unknown vocabulary. Then Ken-chan said he actually remembers the first English word he ever learned, which was "sacrifice" and the others were like WHAT A WEIRD FIRST WORD??? But it's because a friend of his from grade school used it kind of weirdly and after he asked the teacher what it meant, he realized better what his friend was talking about, thought it was profound and then remembered it forever.

Hiroki was like, "I kind of understand how you could be friends. He sounds weird like you." Actually Justin and Hiroki called Ken-chan "weird" a number of times lol, like it's his defining feature or something. That and he texts them in their three-person group chat like a “girlfriend.”

He’ll send them selfies and go, "Here's today's Akisawa Kentarou!" and Hiroki is always like dude, what? Or out of nowhere he’ll tell them, "It's cold out so take care and don't catch a cold ok!" And Justin was like, “It's kind of like having a girlfriend.”

For a little question corner someone wanted Justin and Hiroki to say something they liked about Ken-chan and also one thing they disliked. Justin loves ken-chan's bright and warm personality. He feels like Ken-chan gives him extra energy and strength and that he always gets caught up in Ken-chan’s pace. Hiroki loves that when it comes to Ken-chan he can really feel like he cares for each individual in their own unique way. Like Ken-chan is mindful of different people and holds a different kind of love for everyone. WHICH I THOUGHT WAS KIND OF DEEP I DUNNO I GOT EMOTIONAL. Justin agreed and Ken-chan said how happy he was to hear that.

Another question was, if the three of them could appear together in a play again, what kind of roles would Ken-chan imagine for everyone? And honestly it got kind of weird and convoluted, but he assigned Justin to be a monk, and for Hiroki to be someone completely plain and normal. Because Hiroki’s done a lot of different types of roles as an actor and since his normal personality is kind of out there, he thought it would be a challenge for Hiroki to be as plain and as normal as possible. And Ken-chan himself would be like... the bad guy running an evil organization, but then he found religion and converted... but it was a trick... it got weird. Justin was nodding his head and kind of getting into it, but Hiroki’s face just kept getting more and more confused LOL. And at the end he was just like, “What is this?! This would definitely have a bad ending!” ( 絶対バッドエンド！) Justin just went, “Yeah this just all reminded me of how amazing Ken-chan is. He just comes up with stuff like this.” Hiroki was just giving these super doubtful looks, oh my god, he looked so funny honestly.

When the guest corner wrapped up and Ken-chan said goodbye to them, he tried to kiss Hiroki’s hand as he shook it, and Hiroki was just giving him the funniest stink-eye for the next two whole minutes as he slowly, slowly backed off from the stage area lololol. (Again, HIROKI IT’S NOT LIKE YOU DON’T TRY TO SNEAK SMOOCHES FROM PEOPLE, I JUST SAW YOU TRY TO SMOOCH TAKATO TWO NIGHTS AGO; HE’S SUCH A LITTLE SHIT I LOVE HIM).

After that, Ken-chan treated us to a song, and my heart was soaring because I love his singing, and he picked such a sweet song with sweet lyrics, and UGH. I need to see him live in a musical someday. He was all nervous before he started too, saying that he was bad at singing and everyone in the room just VEHEMENTLY shook their heads like WHAT ARE YOU EVEN TALKING ABOUT?!?! But the space was small and he wasn’t on an elevated stage at all, so I’m sure the intimacy of the setting made it a little more nerve-wracking singing a solo song in front of 60 people.

Then for his good-bye message he thanked us all for supporting him and for making events like this possible. He even gestured to me where I was sitting and said, “Even coming all the way from America! She’s here from America, everyone!” and the other girls did the “Ehhh???” thing at me and OMG I just kind of bowed meekly. But then another girl in the front raised her hand and said she was from China studying abroad, and Ken-chan was all, “I’m global! Global Kentarou!”

Then for the send-off, he would shake our hands and try to spend at least another 20 seconds talking to each of us as he gave us our individual good-byes. If you ordered his donut conference DVD, there was the option to have him give you your copy at the end of the event, so obviously I did that lol.

He also prepared these little handwritten cards for everyone with small felt roses attached, so I now have a handwritten card from Ken-chan~

When it was my turn, he took my hands and shook them and thanked me for coming all the way from America to see him. He asked me how long the trip takes, and I told him that from Seattle to Narita is about a 10-hr flight, and he was like, “That’s so far!” And then I showed him the donut earrings I wore for his event, and he poked one gently and pointed them out to his friend who was assisting at the event (It was Shouma, who helps him at every event I think) and was just like, “Look at her donut earrings! They’re so cute!” And then he complimented my Japanese, wished me a safe trip home, and held my hands again (how do I ever wash these hands again?) and said, “Have a nice day!!” and I dunno. My heart just like... melted. Also my gift for him this time was a black shirt that has “have a nice day” embroidered on it so it was also a bit... not deja vu, but ANYWAYS. I’m so proud of myself for not tripping up the stairs as I left because oh my god the euphoriaaaaa~

My photo with him is going to be one of my most prized possessions forever probably.

Oh! Also the three of them made a video after the event (x) but since Ken-chan and Hiroki are “graduated” from being Karasuno third-years, it’s not titled the usual “Today’s Third-Years.” Now it’s “Today’s Adults... or wannabe adults anyway”
