thought of sitting down on your couch and watching a completely unrealistic "reality" love drama show with SatoSugu, both of their arms lounged comfortably behind you along the back of the cushioned furniture. you retort cunning, brash criticism from time to time with each passing scene/episode whenever something goes haywire, about how the men are repulsive and unloyal as fuck, all while Satoru leans in close to you and completely agrees with you, theatrics and all.

and poor Suguru just glances back and forth between the two of you, enjoying the boisterous, distasteful remarks about the cheating partners in the current show you all were watching. he thinks it's silly and ridiculous, but he truly admires the full hearted admiration and passion that dwells in yours and Satoru's tone. the pure thrill and enticement in the both of your eyes filling his heart with so much love and adoration. he absolutely loves his silly, dramatic partners 💗

Choosing Fantasy High as my summer hyperfixation was great because watching Kristen Applebees whiplash between "oh my god my friends are insane" to "that bitch hit me with 45 points of damage in one turn rip him to shreds" in about three second is fantastic.

I wasn't going to post this, but I can't not. I just can't stop thinking about it.

So my dad has seen a total of 4 episodes of 911. 2x01, 2x15, and 4x13 and 4x14. He wasn't paying attention at first. He got interested when Eddie volunteered to take the grenade out of Charlie's leg. He wasn't too invested yet though, and would mostly watch his own thing. When I decided to watch 2x15, however, he watched the ENTIRE episode. I was shocked. I haven't been rewatching in order, and it doesn't bother him because he watches strictly for the calls they go on...

Until now.

I was in the mood for it, so I started 4x13. I had told him about that Charlie's case, and he was intrigued, and when I started the episode, he asked if that one was the one. Got em! Hook, line, and sinker. He's actually watching.

We watched, me biting my tongue and him asking questions about what alls going on with everyone (especially Maddie and Bobby.) And then... the shooting!

He's invested now. His favorite is hurt. But we couldn't watch 4x14 that night. So we watched it last night.

He was surprised Buck broke down (at this moment, he only sees Buck as the adrenaline junkie. If he only knew.) He asked about it and I said he'd have to know Buck and Eddie's relationship. And now he knows about Buddie.

The episode goes on, he quickly develops a hate for Taylor (🎉), and then comes the will™.

Dad: so does that mean Buck won't go Full Buck anymore?

Me: ......... no?

I told him about how the entirety of season 5 was self harm for Buck (cough cough Taylor,) and about the bicycle incident in season 6. I mean, Buck has kind of toned it down a bit, but not much.

But the fact remains that dad was just as hopeful as I was about Buck actually understanding Eddie.

And I've left the best gem for last:

"So that some day... If I didn't make it... Christopher would be taken care of. By you."

Dad whispers (just before Buck speaks): he made you a dad.

oh it’s painfully obvious that the writers hate women 😭I gotta say that enough of it is entertaining to me to be somewhat enjoyable (it helps that the cast, especially Frank/Marie/Robbie, are strong comedic actors), but yeah I absolutely completely see your opinion 😅I couldn’t get more than a few episodes into Home Improvement for that same reason- it was WAY too much for me

i have looked it up before but i don't think so, because i have had crushes and experienced romantic attractions to guys before. there was one guy who was pretty cool and our values matched well and everything imo, but he didn't want me and chose a better option, so that relationship got cut off, but again, this was like... before covid happened i think. it's been years since i felt like that, is all.

In today's edition of: the kids are alright- so, I work at an 18th century history museum where we do the whole school tour shebang and we have clothes for the kids to dress up in. And we always say the rule is they can dress up as a girl or boy as long as they do it with respect. I usually don't have any takers on crossdressing but today three boys (and one adorable girl) decided to take the plunge together and oh man. Nothing fills your heart more than watching a 9-10 year boy cinch the drawstrings on a horribly inaccurate petticoat like "oh this is drip. Oh I've got MAD drip." Like 😊😊😊😊😊 yeah he fucking did.

cannot tell if I'm Sturgeon's Lawing it, overextrapolating, or in fact remotely onto a thing, but... Media These Days is really taking shortcuts with like, [especially moral] characterization, right? like this isn't a remark in any direction about the contents of the morality, it's a remark about how many times I've watched/read a thing and sat there going like, I'm pretty sure you (writing) expect me to take this as believable, but you actually just have a paper doll mouthing words here, this isn't believable just because the paper doll is mouthing The Good Guy Words

and like it's something beyond Pet The Dog, is the thing. I've no objections to dog-petting as a tool. one identifiable difference being that The Good Guy Words are then later made load bearing for reversal, of all fucking things. it's one thing to have Designated Good Guy that's fine (and actually this stuff is more Designated Sympathetic, so again, "moral" being used very loosely). but if you want?? as I think you want??? me to first believe that DGG is in fact G but then! to be shocked when he isn't... you gotta do more than mouth words. we don't actually share an unspoken and obvious moral code, you the writer and I. but also even in cases where I don't outright disbelieve your definition of Good it... still doesn't work. there's still no there there

and like the fixes are there, but they're not so similar as to feel like the explanation is really in them (closest generalized fix is "remember the agency of other characters" but like that's a fix for so much bad writing it barely counts). it sorta just seems like this particular bar has sunk into the floor? but why?

tl;dr the experience is "I'm not conflicted[/shocked/moved], I'm confused" and I swear, it's increasing. often in total (but popular) shit, sure, but sometimes in not-utter-shit-in-every-other-respect stuff too. and just, why??
