Companions React to Sole Visiting Their Dead Spouse Part 1/2
Ada:
Today Sole had informed Ada that they wanted to visit the vault they had come from. Ada had heard a bit about vaults from Jackson but she had yet to visit one herself. When they began to descend on the elevator that led to the vault, Ada noticed Sole’s mood start to shift. She recognized the emotion in Sole’s face to be sadness, greif. Ada knew of this emotion from what she had experienced with Jackson and her fellow robot’s deaths. She began to suspect that Sole was visiting the death site of someone who she was close to. They continued to walk
through the vault until they arrived at the entrance of a short hall. The hall seemed to house a number of large machines. Ada’s internal thermometer told her that it was quite cold so she assumed the machines were the source of the unusual temperature. Sole’s mood seemed to worsen as they led Ada down the hall. Ada noticed as they walked that frozen human corpses were held in each of the pod-like machines. When they stopped before one of the pods towards the end of the hall it became clear to Ada that Sole had a relationship with the deceased human they had stopped at. Sole looked up at the deceased human and their eyes began to water. Ada remembered back to her own experiences with death and grief. She felt she had to help Sole as Sole had helped her.
“I understand how you feel, Ma’am/Sir. If there is anything I can do to aid you please let me know.” Sole smiled sadly and turned slightly.
“Thank you, Ada. I appreciate you being here for me.” Sole then turned back to face the dead human. They shed a few tears before they approached a control panel that presumably controlled the machine the dead human was in. They pulled a lever and the Ada heard a hiss of the pod depressurising. The door to the pod slowly opened as Sole approached the human. They seemed to be taking a ring off of the hand of the human. They held the cold metal to their lips and whispered something Ada could not hear before slipping the ring in their pocket.
“Alright, we can go now.” They addressed Ada as they moved to close the door of the pod. “Thank you.” They repeated.
“You are welcome, Ma’am/Sir.” Ada responded. Ada and Sole then left the vault together. Ada knew that there was no way she could repay Sole for how they helped her, but she would still continue to try.
Cait:
“Why do we have ta go to this stupid ice box again?” Cait complained, rubbing her bare arms.
“It’s not my fault you refused to wear a coat.” Sole joked but Cait noticed their voice had a twinge of sadness in it. Cait had been confused when Sole asked her to come to Vault 111 with them. They’d been traveling together for ages and Sole didn’t really ask Cait if she wanted to go places, they just went. The location of today was weird as well. Usually they had a purpose for the places they went. Some lazy settlers couldn’t get off their arse’s to fight off a few ghouls or they were gettin’ a handful a’ caps to go fight a bunch a’ muties. Today’s trip to Vault 111 was weird and out of the blue. Cait didn’t like it but it seemed important to Sole so she agreed. Together they walked further into the vault and the further they walked the colder it got. They eventually reached a wide hall full of weird human sized containers. Cait noticed the ice that slicked the floor and the frost that stuck to the windows of the weird containers as they passed the first one she peered in the window. The dead body of a frozen woman in a vault suit was inside. She had seen a fair amount of bad shit in her day and this whole vault definitely made the cut. Sole had stopped in front of an ice coffin close to the end of the hall when Cait realized. Sole had told her about their dead spouse a while back and they’d also mentioned how they’re from a vault. This was that vault. That body they were now cryin’ in front of was their spouse. Seeing Sole like that did not feel good. Not good at all. She needed to reassure them, she hated it when they were upset.
“I know this must be difficult for you.” She stepped forwards, “I… I’m here if you need to talk.” Sole turned to her and smiled. They reached out their hand to take Cait’s.
“Thank you, Cait. You’re a great friend.” They squeezed Cait’s hand. Cait squeezed back and watched Sole as hot tears continued to roll down their cheeks. She hoped that one day they could be more than friends. Maybe then Cait could wipe those tears away an’ kiss away the burns of grief they had left behind. For now, though, this is all she needed.
Codsworth:
It had been a hard week for Sole and Codsworth. The initial reunion of the two had been nothing but joyful. The family had been reunited against all odds! But of course it wasn’t the whole family. The absence of Sole’s better half and young Shaun left a gaping hole in both Sole’s real and Codsworth’s metaphorical hearts. The shock of their partner’s murder and Shaun’s kidnapping had worn off for Sole and in it’s wake, it left them cripplingly depressed. The past three days Sole had barely been able to get out of bed. They just listened to their partner’s holotape on repeat while cradling young Shaun’s favorite rattle in their arms’. Codsworth had been doing his best to care for them, bringing them food and water and making sure to check up on them every hour or so, but he was becoming worried. He was just preparing lunch for Sole when he was surprised by their figure standing at the entrance to the kitchen. Codsworth greeted them excitedly. Sole awkwardly hugged his large metal body and thanked him for all the meals he had prepared and all the patience he had shown. They explained how when they had left the vault, they were in such shock that they never got to say a real goodbye to their partner. Codsworth listened patiently and happily agreed when they asked him to accompany them back to the vault to say a real goodbye.
They entered the cold concrete bunker which Codsworth had previously waited and hoped to see stir for over 210 years. Sole led him through the halls and the two eventually arrived at some machinery which Sole identified as the cryogenic freezing pods. They approached the end of the hall and Sole moved to one of the many control panels next two one of the many pods. After puzzling over the panel they tried pulling a red lever. The large door of the cryo pod hissed as it slowly opened to reveal their spouse. Standing next to Codsworth in front of their partner, they grabbed and held the grasper fixed on one of his three arms. Even with one his beloved family members standing dead right before him, Codsworth still couldn’t believe it.
“Oh dear, is that…” he trailed off, “Mum/Sir, I’m… I’m so sorry.” Codsworth tried to keep his heartbroken voice steady as Sole began to softly sob next to him. He wished more than anything he could hug them, but since he could not, this almost hand holding would have to do. They stood there, mourning together for about two hours before Sole was ready to go. They were still very torn up. But it seemed as if a large weight had been lifted from their chest. Before they closed their partner’s pod, Sole went up to them and removed their wedding ring.
“I’ll find who did this, and I’ll get Shaun back. I promise” they said to their spouse.
“Indeed Mum/Sir. We’ll stop at nothing to get young Shaun back!” Sole smiled at Codsworth and together the two set off to find Sole’s baby.
Curie:
After everything Sole had done to help Curie, there wasn’t even a second thought on whether or not she would go with them to the vault they had come from. She would help Sole with anything, no matter what. When she had first booted up in vault 81 she was very excited to dedicate herself to the scientific endeavors of Vault-Tec. When her fellow scientist informed her of how they would be growing hundreds of pathogens in mole rats and testing these pathogens on unsuspecting humans, she felt bad. As bad as a Ms.Nanny model robot could at least. She eventually grew attached to the mole rats they were infecting. She was especially fond of sweet little Clyde. When one day Clyde escaped his cage, Curie did not have time to warn the scientists she had worked with. Despite her friend’s deaths, Curie took solace in the fact that the morally gray work of Vault-Tec’s could not continue. Despite the conductors of the experiment's deaths, Curie continued her work. 200 years later, she had been finished with the cure for a long while. She was pretty much stuck in this small area of the vault waiting to be told she could leave. Thankfully, Sole came along and her prayers were answered! They released her and told her about a young boy who was infected. She was able to help the one human who had the misfortune of being infected by the molerat disease with her life’s work, the cure. After that, Sole had welcomed Curie to continue her scientific studies alongside them. When Sole eventually helped Curie become alive, however, was when Curie truly understood how much she loved Sole. She would go to the ends of the earth for them so accompanying them to a vault was, as Sole might say, no big deal.
On the walk to the vault Sole told an inquisitive Curie about the experiment 111 had performed. They also told Curie how losing their spouse and child happened while they were still trapped in their cryogenic pod. They told Curie that they were visiting the body of their deceased spouse. It wasn’t too long of a walk before they reached the familiar facility. Sole led Curie through the cool halls of the vault and down a short hall to their spouse’s body. They took a deep breath and stepped up to the control panel adjacent to the cryo pod. After fiddling with the controls the pod appeared to depressurize and open. Curie’s heart ached for Sole. She knew how loss felt and of all the human emotions she was now able to feel, she liked that one the least.
Sole began to cry at seeing their deceased partner again. Curie had an urge to cry too. It was such an awful feeling. As much as she wanted to though, she knew she couldn’t give in to it. She had to stay strong for her dearest friend who must be struggling a lot more than she is right now. She stepped closer to her partner and gently laid a hand on their upper back.
“I wish I knew how to make zis better. It iz not a phyzical injury that I can heal.” Curie was silent for a moment, thinking of what to say next, “However I know it still hurts terribly. I am here for you always.” Sole slumped and began to cry harder which made Curie very worried. Maybe she had said the wrong thing! Did she make it worse? But right when she was going to apologize and excuse herself Sole turned around and hugged her tightly. She hugged back and allowed Sole to cry on her shoulder.
“Thank you Curie, you’re the best.” They sniffled out. Curie smiled as a few stray tears fell down her face. She was so glad she was able to help her friend as they have helped her so many times before.
Danse:
Danse hadn’t known what to expect when his fellow soldier had requested they make a stop at Vault 111 during their recon mission to the far reaches of the commonwealth. He of course knew that Sole was from this vault. They had told him so upon their first meeting. He remembered being surprised that Sole had admitted to being a Vault Dweller, though he now understood they probably had no idea of the stigma surrounding Vault Dwellers as they had only been above ground for a short time. Nonetheless, when he granted permission for his subordinate to lead him to the vault he assumed they wanted to go back for something they had not taken when they had first left. He never suspected to walk into a graveyard of frozen corpses. Of course he knew the basics of what had occurred here. Sole had told him a bit about their spouse and the cruel experiment unknowingly performed on them both. Even knowing this, experiencing the criminal loss of life Vault-Tec had caused first hand was rather sickening. He could only imagine what Sole was going through.
Danse soon found that he did not have to imagine. Sole had led him down an isle of frozen bodies before stopping in front one. He noticed their hands were shaking as they reached for the control panel standing next to the pod they had stopped at. They pulled a red lever and the contraption hissed as the door began to open. Danse could see a frozen body held within the metal pod. Sole’s whole body was shaking now. From his place off to the side of them he could see tears rolling down their cheeks. This must be their spouse. Danse was at a loss. He wanted to help them but he knew there was no way he could do anything that would get them over such an incredible loss. Even so, he needed to do something. His power armor hissed as it depressurized. He stepped out of it and approached Sole.
“Take as long as you need, Soldier.”  He placed a hand on their shoulder briefly before turning away to give them space. As he began to leave, Sole grabbed his hand. He turned to them, surprised. He only got to see the tears streaming down Sole’s red, blotchy cheeks for a moment before they roughly pulled him towards them for a hug. Shocked, he stiffened. It was only when they started to softly sob into his chest that he refocused and hugged them back. They stayed that way for a long time. Danse couldn’t help but think back to Scribe Haylen. The situation was nearly the same and yet he didn’t have the same ache in his chest when he had held the scribe. Eventually Sole’s sobs turned to sniffles and sniffles to silence. Their hold on him loosed and Danse took this as his queue to release them. Their face was still puffy and red but as he looked down at them while they smiled up at him he couldn’t help but think how beautiful they looked.
“Thank you.” They breathed. Danse simply nodded. Sole turned away from him to right themselves and he used this opportunity to get back into his power armor. Sole closed up the cryogenics pod and they left the vault without another word shared. Danse hoped he had helped them. Even if it was only in a small way.
Deacon:
When Sole asked Deacon to accompany them on a visit to Vault 111, he of course accepted. This is not to say that he was excited. Far from it. He would never admit it to them, but he had done a lot of research on Vault 111 far before he had met Sole. He had taken a particular interest in this vault after hearing a rumor of Institute activity near it. After trying and failing to get into it, he went to Vault-Tec headquarters in hopes of finding some more info on this particular experiment. He had been able to guess the vault had some type of human-cryogenic-preservation thing going on due to terminals he’d read there and books he’d read elsewhere. After Sole had left the vault, the interior door was open and Deacon was able to explore further. One cryo pod being open while the rest were full of corpses painted a pretty clear picture. The internal terminals allowed Deacon to discover that there was once an infant “housed” there. The infant belonged to the vaultie he saw leave and the only corpse who’s cause of death was a bullet to the head. It was pretty clear to him what had happened. What he didn’t know was what the Institute needed with an infant.
Due to his research, Deacon obviously knew exactly what happened in that Vault. He also knew how much it had taken from Sole specifically and he had a pretty good idea of why they wanted to go back. His suspicions were confirmed when they led him down a familiar hall of cryo pods. They stopped close to the end of the short hallway to stand in front of the dead person Deacon had first seen almost a year ago. He looked to Sole, they were staring at the body and shivering. He couldn’t tell if it was from the cold or the murder. He settled on both. He tried not to remember just how much he understood their pain, but of course he couldn’t forget. His chest tightened as he saw tears beginning to leak from their eyes. They shakily reached for the control panel next to the coffin and pulled the red lever to open it. Their face began to contort into an expression Deacon knew very well. Their tears were flowing freely now and he felt he had to do something, anything to try to help them. He approached them and placed a hand on their shoulder, effectively wrapping his arm around them. They stood there for about a minute, Sole sniffling from time to time, before Sole turned into him and wrapped their arms around him. Deacon didn’t think about how it could be dangerous when he hugged them back, he just did. He held Sole in that cold, empty room for a long time. Even after Sole had stopped crying, they stood there.
“Thanks Dee.” Sole whispered before finally letting go of Deacon. They looked up at him, smiling and though he didn’t know why he felt his stomach flip, he provided a small smile back. Sole closed the pod and together the pair left Vault 111, hopefully, for the last time.
Dogmeat:
When Dogmeat woke up that morning it was just another day with his wonderful friend. Throughout the day however, Dogmeat began to worry. He felt his friend start to become sad. This made him sad too. He loved his friend! He wanted his friend to be happy! He stuck close to their side especially when they entered a very cold big place which seemed to make his friend even more sad. He and his friend walked further into the cold place until they decided to stop. His friend sat down on the cold floor so Dogmeat did too. He saw that his friend had begun to cry. He whimpered and rested his head in his friend’s lap. For a while they sat, Dogmeat’s friend slowly stroking Dogmeat’s fur and eventually, they stopped crying. Dogmeat sat up and blinked at his friend. His friend gave him a sad smile, he gave them a big slobbery kiss. His friend laughed and so he gave them another kiss. His friend kissed his forehead before standing. Together, they walked out of the cold place. Dogmeat was happy, and he felt his friend was too.
Gage: Gage was never into the touchy feely stuff but he had to admit he had a soft spot for the Overboss. They’re badass as hell and take no shit but they also knew how to be compassionate when they needed to be. It was something Gage had never been able to do well and something he respected in his boss. There was something off about them the day they asked Gage to accompany them to Vault 111 in the Commonwealth. They seemed more timid, like they were worried about his response. He’d already told them he’d follow them to the ends of the earth and he meant it so of course he said yes. The trip was long and the boss seemed to get quieter and more down the closer they got to the vault. This was worrying to Gage. Like he said, he wasn’t good at the touchy feely stuff. He wasn’t gonna know how to deal with it if the Boss needed someone to comfort them from whatever was making them sad.
They finally reached the vault and Sole instructed him to stand on the gear shaped platform while they ran over to a small building nearby. After about 30 seconds lights around the platform started to flash. There was the sound of a blaring alarm paired with a rumbling of the ground beneath him. He was about to get the hell off of the thing but Sole ran over to wait on the platform next to him. If it was safe in Sole’s eyes, Gage supposed he would trust it. After a few seconds the platform started to lower with a loud screech of metal on metal. Despite the bad feeling that was growing exponentially inside of him he followed the Overboss’ example. When the vault elevator brought them down to solid ground again, Sole led the way through a cold metal complex to a bunch of weird machinery that really just looked like a bunch of fancy coffins. Looking through the small glass windows on the weird pods proved that that’s exactly what they were. Sole’s footsteps were heavy and slow as they led Gage down the icey corridor. There was something very personal about this place to them. He would soon find out what it was as they stopped in front of on of the coffins. Sole fidgeted with their hands for a moment before they reached to the control panel next to the pod and opened it. There was a hiss of depressurization when the door opened to reveal a body. Someone they’d obviously known and been close to. The Boss’ posture slumped and they started… crying. They were crying… Dammit, Gage had no idea how to deal with this. He had to do something to let them know he cared though, because he did. He stepped closer to Sole reaching his hand out to them before recoiling it. Oh god. Alright just say something, anything.
“Hey, uh, Boss, I just want you to know- well I get it. And I’m real sorry.” They huffed a laugh through tears. Fuck did he do it wrong?? But before he could worry too much they turned to him with a sad smile.
“Thank you Gage, really, thank you.” He nodded stiffly, not knowing how else to react. They stood there in silence for a while before Sole closed the pod and stepped back, wiping their tears away. Gage looked away put of respect until they cleared their throat. “Ready to get out of this shithole?” They smiled at him.
“Hell yeah, you lead the way, Boss.” -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So I saw a video of the Companion’s comments upon bringing them back to Vault 111 and opening your spouses pod and I wanted to write a little thing. :) The bold sentences are real in game dialogue but not every character has some. This is part 1 of 2 so if your favorite isn’t in this one don’t worry.

Chapter 4: Fear in the Fright Zone
Utopix had gotten used to the fact of being kidnapped by people with strange intentions. But this time he was completely out of it. He woke up to a strange dark green cell. The floor was cold, instantly giving him shivers down his spine. He planned to move around the cell but the glowing green cuffs on his wrists stopped him from doing so. His ears picked on the sound of someone’s footsteps. Two persons. His heart hopefully waited that it was someone familiar.
“Good morning, little guy.” Catra greeted the one in her sarcastic manner, accompanied by Otu. “Did you have a good night sleep?”
“W-Where am I? Where’s Georgine? W-What did you do to her!?” Utopix tried to get up but the cuffs pushed him back down.
Catra laughed at his failed attempt. “Oh, wow! You’re so fiery like the glitter princess! No wonder she let you stay at her castle.”
Utopix glanced at Otu with a saddened look, but he instantly faced away, avoiding his eye contact. “What do you want from me?”
“I heard from a certain source that you hold an incredible power.” Catra scratched the shield of the cell containing Utopix as she talked. “And that power could be very useful to Lord Hordak. And I don't think you’d want to see him mad.”
His hand reached to his chest, gulping dryly at the meaning of her words. “M-My main core... but-” Utopix glanced at Otu once more. “I-If I do it, then I-I’ll... I’ll di-”
“Oh, no, no! It’s not my call to make, sweetheart.” Catra interjected, clearly lying in her statement. Her hand then turned off the shield to enter the cell with him as Otu turned the shield back on. “But if you refuse... I promise you... that not even Adora will be here to save you.” Her words entered Utopix’s ears menacingly, tears beginning to form on his eyes.
“D-Don’t...” Utopix stared into nothingness, despite having Otu in front of him. “Y-You’d never-”
Catra held the side of his face aggressively, her eyes staring into his as a threat. “Who do you think opened the portal that nearly destroyed everything?”
Her smirk made Utopix tremble. The fear in his body didn’t allow him to stand up anymore, falling onto his knees as he released the rest of his tears. Sobbing as the cat let him to his own pity.
“I suggest you move quickly, Utopix. Would hate if something happened to you.” Catra left with Otu, letting out an evil laugh as she disappeared from his sights.
=================
“She left us! I can't believe she left us after telling me to stay behind!” Adora shouted in anger as she walked around the room, waving her finger around like a disapproving mother.
“Adora...” Makena tried to interfere in her ranting.
“She might still think that I’m not good enough to fight near her! Everyone likes me! I like She-Ra! Everyone likes She-Ra!” Adora kept on rampaging and babbling around, feeling near the brink of madness.
“Adora!” Oliver shouted, placing his hands on her shoulders to stop her from walking any further. “Let’s just calm down and figure out how we’re gonna get them both.”
Adora was no stranger to the fact she had a bad habit of blaming herself for everything. Carrying the weight of the world in a sword wasn’t exactly the most stressless task out there. Despite the fact she knew there were things out of her control, she couldn’t help but pester herself over not doing everything she could to make sure things were perfect.
Utopix’s capture was just the newest addition to that list.
Upon getting back to Bright Moon, she had retreated behind the castle, keeping close to the cliffs that guarded Bright Moon. She wasn’t quite in the mood for dealing with more people, after telling them that she watched Catra take away their new friend that they swore to protect. It was a bit cruel that Georgine left with all that responsibility, but she could handle it. Maybe she’d come back and then inform the other princesses of what happened, and Adora wouldn’t have to break the news nor deal with any more guilt.
Some Princess of Power she was.
“Adora?” A familiar voice called out.
“Bow?” She replied on instinct before quickly covering her mouth.
“Adora!” Bow walked into her sight, pushing away a stray bush. “What are you doing back here?”
“How’d you even know I was back here?”
“I caught a glimpse of you coming over here,” Bow explained. “You looked really upset, the kind where you don’t wanna deal with anyone or anything. So I put myself in your shoes and then asked myself where I’d go if I wanted to avoid people.” He rested his fingers on his chin, as if deep in thought. “Certainly not in the castle, where anyone could walk in. The woods are off the table too, since someone would probably see me go into them. All that’s really left is somewhere tucked away outside, and it’s pretty tucked away behind the castle.”
“One point for team Bow,” she weakly raised a fist up in celebration. She lowered her fist back down. “But if you knew I wanted to be alone, then why did you come?”
“Simple,” Bow sat down next to her. “You needed to talk with someone about what happened, get it out of your system.”
“Didn’t Georgine already fill you in?”
“No, she hasn’t come back yet, or maybe she has and she’s hiding like you are.”
Adora lowered her head, remembering her absence. “I was kinda hoping that she’d explain everything for me,” Adora admitted.
“You don’t need to rush your answer, but what happened?”
Adora let out a long sigh. “...Utopix got captured by Catra.”
Bow bit down on his lip.
“I wanted to go after him,” she continued. “But Georgine said we couldn’t risk his safety by chasing after him with no real plan. So I had to let him go.”
“And you feel guilty for that.”
“Another point for team Bow,” she tried to smile, but it just felt awkward.
“You didn’t want to break the news to the others, so you ducked away to think over what you could have done differently.”
“You sure you aren’t a mind reader?” Adora asked.
“Nope. Only things I’m good at are archery and reading other people’s emotions.”
“You’re damn good at that last one.”
The two sat in silence for a while. Adora didn't really want to say anything else, and Bow was probably busy thinking of some sort of reply.
“You know,” Bow began, “just because you were there doesn’t mean every wrong thing is your fault.”
“Still, I can’t help but wonder what would have happened if I just moved. Maybe if I hadn’t let Catra getaway, maybe if I fought a little more, Utopix would still be with us.”
“Or maybe things wouldn’t be so good,” Bow countered. “You’d drive yourself mad if you keep going over all these alternate possibilities.”
“I guess so,” Adora sighed. Still, she was a leader, and a leader should be able to protect everyone. A leader should be able to make sure everyone was safe and all together. A leader should make sure nothing ever went wrong.
“Adora,” Bow said, “if you’re too focused on what you could have done, then you won’t be able to do anything to help get him back.”
“Huh?”
“I trust you enough to know you did everything you could back there,” Bow explained. “It might not have been the outcome you wanted, but you did everything you could. Now we can take the next step forward and create a plan so foolproof, Catra won’t even know what hit her!”
“You sure about that?”
“Positive,” Bow gave a confident smile. “This time you’ll have the whole team behind you. We won’t stop ‘till Utopix is back!”
Adora felt a genuine smile grace her face. “Thanks, Bow,” she leaned in for a hug. “I really needed to hear that.”
“Of course,” Bow returned the hug. “Now, let’s go find the others so we can start making that plan.”
=================
The Fright Zone’s usual eerie aura seemed to grow stronger with what was happening indoors. Catra had offered Utopix to Lord Hordak as if he was a peace offering after the disatrous failure that the portal caused. Which he gladly accepted.
“Fascinating,” Hordak’s fingers ran through Utopix’s dark locks, making the poor robot whimper. “It’s a fine specimen for your level of expertise.”
“He will help us recover from my.... our casualty with the rebellion.” Catra firmly reassured. “If we wait for the princesses to do any moves, it could mess up the plan.”
“How do you intend to use the core you speak of?” Hordak’s eyes narrowed at the rebellious cat.
Just in cue, Otu jumped from the shadows surrounding the lab and next to Catra. “Lord Hordak. Meet number 36. The new addition to the Horde. He came from the same place that the robot did and knows how to handle everything.”
“O-Otu...” Utopix quietly whispered, frowning as he looked up at him.
“The core will create a great weapon! If we use it against the Princesses’ Rebellion, we’ll be able to conquer most of Etheria!” Catra’s tail wagged around as she proposed her next plan.
Hordak walked around the lab, staying quiet for most of her speech until he finally had something to say. “If your insolence costs us like the last time, I’ll personally see to it.”
Catra nearly gulped. Perfectly knowing that it was a promise.
“Remove the robot’s core as soon as you can and bring it to me when you're finished. Dismissed.”
Catra lowly growled and dragged Utopix out of the room, yanking the cable connected to his cuffs. Utopix’s heart clenched as they walked back to one of the compartments, awaiting his terrible fate; trusting that something or someone would act up on time. After Catra pushed Utopix against some locks placed on the walls, she went ahead and grabbed a taser in case he wanted to escape.
“...C-Catra, right?” Utopix softly spoke.
“Hmm,” she kept her sight locked on the taser, making sure that it worked properly by pressing the button a couple of times.
“Please... You don't have to do this. If Adora and the others--”
Catra then immediately threw the taser on the floor, scaring him unintentionally as she placed her hands on both of her sides. “Don't you DARE say that name again! I WILL dismantle you and I WILL create that weapon to finish those idiots once and for all!”
“No! Y-You don't know Adora like I do! S-She’s kind and cares about her friends... M-Maybe if you talked to her--”
Catra yelled furiously as she scratched the wall nearby in pure anger. “Shut up! Just shut up! Adora is NOT my friend! She never was! And I am NOT going to save her for a stupid and weak robot like YOU!” Her hand planted very near his face.
Utopix’s face was in genuine shock. The only person that had dared to speak that harsh to him ever was Gene. Oh, Gene... But his typical emotion poured out of his eyes once again. Long-lasting tears and uncontrollable sobs. Catra eventually snapped out of her sudden anger, catching her breath in long inhales and backing away from the crying robot. She then lowered her head, contemplating the long claws on her hands as if it actually meant something.
“...I-I’m sorry.” Utopix finally spoke.
Catra’s ears perked. “Why are you apologizing?”
“I-I didn't know that... you got hurt.”
Catra clenched her fists, feeling the sharpness of her claws nearly rupture her skin. “So what? It's not like you actually care.”
“A-And what if I do? You’d still kill me?”
“Maybe I will,” she then reached for a sharp tool, making Utopix tremble. “Unless you still hold some secrets... and I'm going to get them all.”
“C-Catra... P-Please, listen to me...” his hands tried to shift around the tight locks. “D-Don’t do it!”
Otu turned around, clenching onto his arm, wishing to be anywhere else but there. Catra ran the tool down Utopix’s sweater, giving her access to his chest cavity and to his core. “36...”
His whole body trembled, turning around to face her. Catra handed him the tool so he could make the first incision. “Go ahead.”
Otu took a deep breath and leaned closer to him, but his hands betrayed him. They’d shake as the tool inched closer to his heart. Oh, how he wished that something in his head would play. A good memory. Anything that’d keep him from doing what he was about to do. But then his eyes averted to the scared one, seeing those distilling brown eyes made... something... palpitate. He never thought that he could see the stars in someone’s eyes. Yet, there they were. A single tear rolled down the counterpart’s cheek and then drove the tool deep inside...
...Catra’s leg.
While the cat yelled in pain, the half-glitched entity liberated the robot and ran out of the compartment, carrying him in his arms. Where? He didn't even know, but he needed to keep him away from the crazy cat as far as he could. Catra pressed the badge to alert Scorpia. “Scorpia!” She yelled in fury.
“Woah! Are you okay? You sound hu-!”
“36 defected! Send everyone after him! He escaped with the robot!”
Scorpia then alerted everyone else whom begun to look for the two. When the alarm went off, Otu ran as fast as he could to hide in one of the dark alleys. Once he set Utopix aside, he recovered his breath and crouched down to avoid anyone from seeing the two.
“...W-Why?”
Otu turned around and looked at his counterpart. “W-Wha...”
“W-Why did you do it?” Utopix asked again.
“I... I-I don’t... I-I’m in--”
Utopix instantly hugged him, not meaning to let go. The other’s dark eyes seemed to illuminate at the strange yet comforting touch. Quite a difference from being electrocuted and punched all the time. His arms returned the unknown gesture as his hands ran down his bare back exposed by the ruined sweater.
“O-Ow...” the poor robot softly whined as the gentle waves of energy ran down his spine.
“So sorry...” Otu immediately apologized, pulling his hands back from said place.
“I-It’s okay. I’m okay.” Utopix faintly smiled, holding onto his hands gently.
“Okay.” Otu nodded, scooping him up back again. “Let’s go.”
Utopix quietly giggled, planting a sweet kiss on his cheek, catching his counterpart off guard. “H-How come you never talked to me?”
“Don’t get cocky, Jones.”
Utopix giggled once again as the other ran out of their hiding spot and towards the exit. A pair of soldiers cornered the two. Otu lowly growled, keeping the other close to him at all times until a beam of light knocked the soldiers out.
“Georgie!” Utopix exclaimed at the sight of the angelic form of his lover.
Georgine smirked until she noticed Otu being the one carrying him and aimed her golden staff at him. “You again.”
“N-No, Georgie! H-He saved me!” Utopix waved his arms around to stop her from firing.
Georgine maintaned her aim, exhaled, and flicked her wrist to make the staff disappear. “Fine.” She then reached for him and pulled him gently from Otu to carry him instead.
“W-What are you doing here? Where’s the others?” Utopix held onto the back of her neck for support.
“I came alone. I couldn't risk the others to come get you.” Georgine’s light seemed to glorify under her statement.
Utopix was dumbfounded for a moment until he came to a realization. “...you didn't tell them.”
“I couldn't.”
Otu walked near the two and stood loosely. “I’m afraid that we cannot stay around here any longer.”
Georgine furrowed her eyebrows upon his short speech. “Huh. You do talk.”
A massive ray of energy nearly blasted the trio. Otu then got in position to attack the soldiers that manage found them. Scorpia positioned herself near them and gasped at the sight of the angelic being. “Oh my gosh! Another She-Ra!? I can barely handle one, man!”
Georgine groaned in the similar fashion that Mermista does and summoned her staff. “Think you can drive them far?” The angel glanced at Otu who was ready to attack.
“With pleasure,” Otu smirked before rapidly moved against the soldiers like a cheetah, avoiding their shots and stomping on them to temporarily knock them out. His sight then placed on Scorpia.
“Woah, woah! C’mon, 36! I don't wanna fight you!” The big one begun to step back.
Otu then grabbed one of the weapons from the Horde soldiers and aimed it at her. “Tell Catra that I’m done.” His statement made Scorpia frowned, filled by sadness of yet another comrade abandoning her. And it’d not be a great new for Catra. Otu narrowed his eyes, dropping the weapon and smashing it into a million pieces before ruining away with the two lovebirds.
Georgine made sure to stay low so she untransformed from her Zoulex form and changed to the AMR armor that Oliver gave her days ago.
“What are you doing? We need to get out of here,” Otu lowly spoke.
“I am not planning to attract much attention to that form. Plus, we need to pass as unnoticed as we can.” Georgine peeked around the wall, noticing some soldiers walking by. “Now, follow my lead.”
Georgine ran against the two as she held Utopix tightly with one arm and beat one of the soldiers with the other. Otu quickly took care of the other soldiers with much ease as they got near an entrance that leaded to the Fright Zone’s junkyard. “Alright, we’re getting near the--”
A ray blasted near her and immediately stopped to observe who had done it. Catra. She gripped the taser’s handle as she approached the trio slowly, accompanied by some stronger soldiers that begun to sprint towards them, ready to annihilate them. Georgine placed Utopix aside as she tried to open the circular entrance that was encaged by some bars. Without her Zoulex magic, it’d be too late once she opened it. Otu observed the situation placed upon him... and he knew what he had to do. He crouched down once again to look at Utopix.
“Utopix...”
The robot looked up at the other, terribly afraid out of his mind.
“Ever since I was created, I had only one purpose and it was to destroy you but...” his hand reached for his, placing it on his armed chest. “...nothing says that I can’t change that.”
“O-Otu...?” Utopix’s voice trembled at his words, getting embraced by the counterpart who whispered some words... some unique words... in his ear, making him widen his eyes and sob out of control. “N-Nghh...”
The other then stood up, lasering the entrance to then pushed it down the entrance for the two to go in. “You two go! Now! I’ll hold them back!”
“What about you?” Georgine, whom had scooped Utopix once again, asked as if there was any concern within her.
“...I’ll be fine.” Otu faintly grinned, winking at Utopix as tears formed on the dark one’s eyes.  “N-No... O-Otu, don’t! Georgine, wait! We can't--!”
“I’m sorry, sweetheart.” Georgine slid down the vent with him as they saw Otu fight against the soldiers, miserably failing... nearly on purpose.
“OTU!” Utopix cried out upon his last sight. Memories tragically playing back.
Catra looked at Otu who was held back by two of the soldiers. Her expression lacked emotion, but her heart was enraged.
“You...” he weakly spoke. “...won’t... g-get anywhere near him now.”
Catra stood quiet for a second, slowly blinked, until she committed her action. Her claws rapidly ran across Otu’s face, making him bleed badly as he got dragged back to Lord Hordak’s lab... awaiting the same fate that Utopix meant to have.
Eventually, the power couple was launched onto the pile of junk behind the Fright Zone. Once Georgine recovered her balance, she helped Utopix stand up who shivered under the harsh place’s cold. She drew her armor back to take her hoodie off and wrapped it around the innocent one who begun to cry without saying anything else.
“Oh, love...” she hugged him, meaning to keep him warm as well. “Come on. We have to go.”
Just as the two were faintly walking around the Whispering Woods, they met with the princesses accompanied by She-Ra, Swift Wind and the others who were about to go and save them.
“Georgine! Utopix!” Adora untransformed and ran towards the two, hugging them as if she hadn't seen them in years. “A-Are you okay?”
Utopix kept himself quiet at the question, lowering his head in sadness. Adora could just only frown at his lack of response, but not knowing what it meant.
Georgine placed a hand on her shoulder to draw her attention. “Otu... Utopix’s counterpart... saved him from Catra.”
The others far behind still managed to hear, frowning and covering their mouths in dread. Adora could just only press her forehead against Utopix’s to attempt to comfort him of his pain.
“I’m sorry...”

Avengers fanfiction part 2
Let me repeat it: this is the first fanfiction I ever wrote in English, which is not my first language - please forget the mistakes :) And let me know what you think about it!
This is part 2, part 1 is here :)
A crazy scientist had the great idea to try recreating a dinosaur, mixing his genes with the ones of some kind of bird - it had to be that way, because the result was more like a dragon than anything else. Great. Really. The alarm made them suit up and go before they had the chance to ask Alex what he meant. Even if it was pretty obvious. Steve sighed and made sure the scientist was in SHIELD’s hands, smiling at Tony who was taking care of the press, helped by Natasha. Thor was waving at everyone he found cheering and Clint was collecting every arrow that had survived the fight. Bruce was already on the Quinjet, with tea in his hands and a blanket on his shoulders. Steve was tired. And curious. He wanted to go at the Tower, and above all he wanted to find out what the kid meant. What happened. “Home,” he started saying. “We should…” Tony grinned at him. “Not a word, Cap. Pepper will be here in two minutes. She’ll handle everything and we’ll be back home.” It was, of course, Tony’s house and he had all the rights to call it “home”… But the fact that Steve thought about it in the same way caused him to have chills all over his body. “Friday?” he called. “Miss Potts will be here in… Now, sir.” So they went back to the Tower, where Bucky, Jane and Darcy had stayed to control Alex and Rey. They found them on the couch, watching the news as their lives depended on it, and when they realized the Avengers were there - hair still wet from the showers - Alex and Rey jumped on feet, looking at them with a relieved expression. “You’re okay,” Alex murmured. He seemed surprised and so, so happy… It made Steve’s heart break a little. “You doubted us?” Tony joked. He bent to look for his whiskey and Steve had to keep himself from droling. “Actually… Yes.” Everyone went quiet. “We’re dead,” Natasha stated. Clint was still on his spot, while Darcy, who was probably twitting something, lowered her cellphone. “Oh,” she mumbled. Bucky walked at her side and touched her arm, winking when she looked at him. Steve frowned - he never realised that… He was an idiot. How could he not see… Natasha caught his eyes and chuckled. Bucky and Darcy?, he tried to tell her silently. “I think we should all eat dinner and then go to sleep. We can talk about it tomorrow,” Bruce proposed. “No way,” Tony answered. “Friday has already ordered pizza, so in a few minutes we can eat - while we talk about the other universe.” “Tony, I’m curious too,” Bruce admitted. “But we have all the time in the world.” “No, we haven’t,” he argued. “I mean, yeah, but com’on!” “There’s not a lot to say,” Alex groaned. He was holding his sister and Steve felt that, for once, he was doing it for himself and not for her. “You okay, son?” he asked. Maybe he shouldn’t have. Maybe he should have stayed quiet - because Alex’s entire body tensed and his eyes got filled by tears, those kind of tears that come from a man who never allows himself to cry. His sister moved without a breath. She hugged him from the side and kissed his cheek, almost climbing him to reach it. She closed her eyes when Alex hugged her back. “Sorry,” he murmured, repeating himself louder. “It’s just… We’ve been alone for years. It’s strange to be… I don’t know, it’s just strange to have someone ready to take care of you. Expecially you, guys.” “It’s okay,” Bruce smiled. “We understand.” “I doubt it,” Alex continued lowly and only Steve and Bucky, with the enchanted hearing, were able to notice. “Okay, so, HYDRA?” Tony grunted, pizzas now in his hands. They sat and started eating in a curious silence, waiting for an answer. It was undeniable that the kids were immediately more tensed and it wasn’t hard to understand the reason. Tony said they chose the most damaged world, the most damaged people… None of them could ever forget what the kids had been trough. “I don’t really know where to start. I guess… I guess we can start from you. From here,” Alex murmured. “There was a cradle. You,” and he looked at Tony, “created a crib, a cradle. It was meant to hold a fetus for nine months… Until the baby was ready to… Be born.”
Tony was astonished. A baby. He had wanted a kid? Did he wanted a kid? They cry and they smell… And he would never, ever be a good father. He didn’t even know where to start! Steve patted him on the back. “Breathe, Tony.” “Keep going, son,” he smirked to Alex, who blushed. “One day, years after you built the cradle, HYDRA got into the Tower. They were inside the SHIELD, so I guess it wasn’t really hard for them…” his voice faded, as he was lost in his memories. “They stole a bunch of stuff. You were more worried for other things, but in the end… In the end it was the cradle, that gave more problems. They change it. An engeneer, Hammer, change it for HYDRA.” Natasha was writing something on a Starkpad; maybe a report, Tony thought. He was glad he had proves that this conversation had happened. “HYDRA’s attacks got worse. More victims, more damages. Then un-Clint disappeared.” Everyone looked at him and Clint froze, pizza in his mouth and his hands, and eyes wide open in shock.
“W-t a- ho-?” he asked. “He means “what and how”,” Natasha supplied. Rey was nodding, sad. She looked as she was about to talk, but she stopped almost chocking on her words. So she can talk, Tony thought. “How did it happen?” Steve inquired. “We don’t know for sure. He, Daredevil and The Thing disappeared in a month… Then Ultron appeared.” The room got filled by silence. No one was sure what to say, how to react… But Tony had to. “I create it,” he murmured. “Not HYDRA. I mean, at least in this world - I created Ultron. It’s my fault.” Rey and Alex looked at him like he was a ghost. Then surprise was took over by sadness. “I caused a lot of-” “No,” Alex hissed. “No way. Not in our world, not for us. You didn’t, you…” there was panic in his eyes - and in Rey’s too. She was having difficultes to breathe. “Rey, Rey! Relax,” Alex almost shouted, taking her chin between his hands. “It’s okay, he’s…” “Ultron’s been taken care of. There’s nothing to worry about,” Natasha reassured them. She moved foward, looking at the kids’ eyes with an unreadable face. “Wait. You mean Ultron is… Dead?” “Yeah,” Steve smirked. “With Vision and the twins’ help we managed to destroy i-him? It? Anyway, we almost lost Pietro, but his dad arrived with the X-Men just in time.” Alex’s face was full of shock - and happiness. “He’s okay,” he whispered. He then bit his lips and lowered his head. “Good. I mean. Glad to hear that.” He looked like he was trying to convince anyone that he didn’t really care, - not more than the necessary - but all the Avengers were able to say that he did. His smile was screaming in joy. “Yeah, so… Ultron’s dead. Tony - with Bruce’s help,” Steve added, refusing to look at any of them, “made a mistake, but we fixed it.” The kids looked so relieved it hurt to look at them. Rey, in particular, had her mouth slightly open. She was trying to talk again - and they all wondered how her voice would have been. But she did not speak; it was a painful scene to watch. All Steve wanted to do, at that point, was hold her and make sure she was okay. However, she was looking at Tony, tears in her eyes. “You okay, kiddo?” Tony smirked. Food was already finished and forgotten, and he had some cables and electronic pieces in his hands. He was playing with them, incapable of being still. She shot his fingers a look and, probably with all her courage, she took every little piece and started twisting them around. “Ultron’s gone,” Alex was repeating. When the concept finally got under his skin, he turned to talk to his sister… And found out she had built a little robotic eagle; it moved its wings and Rey smiled, delighted. “You’re good,” Tony nodded. She blushed and hid her shaking hands - but almost everyone noticed it anyway. Tony studied the eagle and, after a thoughtful moment, he gave it to Steve. “It suits you,” he smiled. Alex looked very conflicted for a second, before sitting back on the couch and smiling sadly. “The story isn’t really… Well… Superheroes started disappearing, day after day. And then…” “Then what?” Jane asked. “Then Ultron and his army showed up with Cyclops’ powers. Then with Mr. Fantastic’s.” “He took the abilities of everyone he kidnapped?” Bucky murmured, making sure he understood well. Alex nodded. “Kidnapped. Tortured. Experimented on.” He took a deep breath. “One by one.” “After six months, only few of you were still here, still fighting. Then…” he choked and shot a look at his sister, who was shivering, hands covering her face. “Let’s say that… Your body,” and he nodded to Tony, “was found. Only Nat, Bucky, Bruce and… Steve were alive at that point. I mean in the Avengers.” Rey patted her brother’s arm and made him look at her, moving her right hand as it was a needle. “What?” Jane asked, uncapable of stopping herself. Thor smiled behind her back. “Yeah, right. HYDRA - or Ultron, they were connected - found a way to separate Bruce from The Hulk,” Alex mumured. He blushed from discomfort. Everyone was quite for a second. Then chaos started. “How is it possible?!” someone shouted. “Someone created… Bruce, let’s go to the lab!” “I’ll call Fury. If HYDRA knows how to do that, we have to know.” “Guys,” Bruce smiled sweetly, stopping everyone to talk even more. “There’s no need. I don’t… I don’t want to have hope when in our world it’s impossible to…” “It is not,” Rey smiled. And her smile broke down in shock. She covered her mouth with a hand, while the other clenched on her brother’s arm. “You talked,” he murmured, shocked as she was. “Y-you talked! You haven’t done that in years, years! I ca-can’t believe it. You talked!” he shouted, jumping on his feet and forcing Rey to stand up as well. He hugged her and danced and laughed, and it was so full of joy that it made everyone smile - or, in Darcy’s and Steve’s case, hide the tears. “Talk again!” he  ordered her. “Please.” She stopped smiling at that. It’s simple, Steve thought. That “it is not” she blurted was totally unexpected, and just because she finally said something it didn’t mean she was now able to fully talk. Whatever made her silent was still there - it just broke down for a second. “Why don’t you try again tomorrow?” Bruce proposed, still impressed and full of doubts at the same moment. “You really think you can help me?” he asked. After few moments of silence and doubt, Rey nodded. Then she shrugged, as to say “at least I’ll give it a shot”. “If someone can find out a way, that’s Rey. And she studied some of HYDRA’s and Ultron’s files,” Alex smiled widely. They shared a look and he bit his lips. “The least she can do is try.” Bruce eyes were filled with tears when he turned his face, doing his best to hide them. “Impressive,” Tony giggled, amazed. Those kids were awesome… But how could she create a new serum, how could she be that smart?! “What’s your IQ?” he blurted. Alex answered for her. “Couple of points less than yours.” “And what about you?” Tony asked. Steve shot him a look that said “no one cares, IQ isn’t all”, but Tony ignored him as a good Stark would have done. “Not quite as much,” Alex admitted, “but still pretty good. I’m just… Not really into those things. I’m more of a… Tactical kind of clever.” “Isn’t it funny?” Natasha smiled, looking at Bucky and Clint, who both turned so fast they almost snapped their own necks. Bucky grinned when Alex blushed so much he became as red as Tony’s suit, while Clint was using ASL to talk to Natasha without speaking. Unnoticed, Rey and Alex started to hold each other’s hand, breaking apart just in order to yawn. “Why don’t you two go to sleep, and finish your story tomorrow?” Steve smiled, patting Alex’s knees and winking at Rey. “Wait, what?” Tony exclamed. “You can’t send them to bed! We want to know!”
“You made them come here from another universe, Tony! They need to rest. They’ll tell us tomorrow, no rush.” “You kidding?!” “Tony…” “Okay, fine!” he looked at the kids, who were biting their lips as in an attempt to control themselves. “He spoils all the fun.” Alex and Rey laughed quietly. They all went to bed soon after that; the only one who didn’t go to sleep right away was Natasha. Standing still in the darkness, she hid her smile and kept thinking.
