What I love about dizzy is how from her first appearance to the last, the most noticeable change (except aesthetically wise from xrd to strive) is how she interacts with necro and undine. I love how helpless she is in R, constantly remarking how sorry she is to the other player, while in strive she actively collaborates with them and isn't helpless to their presence <3

Amity Parkers are super good at dealing with superhero and villain battles, getting out of the rubble, helping others get out, etc.
This doesn’t shock anyone. There’s so many cities that consistently deal with superhuman battles that millions of people around the world are used to it and know what to do during a battle. Hell, there’s even government standard safety drills in schools about villain attacks now.
They didn’t stand out for a long long while among crowds of other city goers trying to flee a battle scene.
That was until a green glowing android appeared out of nowhere defeating heroes and villains alike because their abilities were rare enough to be hunted by this mysterious newcomer. So far no known weapon is able to hit the being while intangible.
That is until one unassuming citizen pulls out a strange wrist ray contraption that seems to actually stun the creature for a few seconds.
NOW all eyes are on these citizens that once lived in Amity Park

waking up next to bakugou sleeping like a whore on his tummy with his arms under the pillow and his broad back spread out like a damn feast - you immediately suckerfish to his side and start tracing patterns over his shoulders to wake him up (he pretends to be asleep while you get needier and needier behind him)

Thinking about marriage/women's rights on Vulcan Some may think that T'Pring not being allowed to divorce Spock was because he was going through the pon farr but if she were allowed to divorce him at all she probably would have done that a long time ago, confirmed by T'Pol when she's speaking with Koss, who isn't suffering from the pon farr. She says that he can choose another mate (without invoking a fight it seems: note the difference between a 'mate' and a 'challenger') and after he makes it clear that nothing she says will change his mind about marrying her, she finally threatens to declare a kal-if-fee. It's clear that Vulcan women cannot divorce/refuse to marry a man they've been betrothed to under any circumstances if A) He himself doesn't consent to ending their marriage or B) She doesn't have someone else waiting in the wings to be given to in his stead. Though, if the challenger she selects fails to win the fight, she'll have to marry her betrothed anyway unless (again) he decides he doesn't want her after the challenge. That seems like an incredibly unfair system, heavily biased towards men. SNW is an alternate universe in many obvious respects but most egregiously in that T'Pring has a lot of non-canonical agency over her relationship with Spock. It's interesting to me that Vulcan society has women in many positions of power and treats women as equal to men from what I've seen despite these laws. We don't really see Vulcans exhibiting a misogynistic attitude towards women in general but in TOS (perhaps because of its general writing style but it's still interesting to note) both Sarek and Spock take on patriarchal attitudes specifically regarding wives. Amanda says that 'of course' Sarek commands her because "he is a Vulcan and I am his wife." It's worthwhile in my eyes to note that she specifies 'wife' instead of attributing this attitude to women as a whole. Again, with TOS' writing style it wouldn't be out of place for her to say "he is a man and I am a woman." Spock, while in a pon farr induced irritation, states that it's "undignified for a woman to play servant to a man that isn't hers" - again implying that there's something specific about being a Wife in Vulcan society which is different from being a woman in general and demands subservience to a husband. This could perhaps stem from the extreme sense of ownership that Vulcan law has permitted men to have over women. A woman legally cannot point blank refuse marriage. There is no option which guarantees she won't have to marry her betrothed other than death. When T'Pau speaks of T'Pring she refers to her as being 'property' and Stonn, before being interrupted, states he's made 'the ancient claim' - we don't know what this is because he gets cut off but it's obvious they're both using the language of Vulcan law. Men are permitted true freedom to choose. If a woman wants to choose someone else to be with there is no option available to her other than the kal-if-fee which might result in the death of the one she wants to be with. And, if her lover fails, her husband can still just decide he wants to marry her and she'll be forced to. T'Pring gives two scenarios: One where Spock 'frees' her and one where he doesn't - it's still ultimately his decision which is clear when he ends the conversation with "Stonn, she is yours." This again isn't just because of the pon farr as T'Pol also goes through this. Koss can choose another mate and when the option is talked about there's no implication that this would result in any sort of fight (both by the casualness of its mention and by the fact that there's no formal word for it unlike the kal-if-fee.) Also, the fact that Koss does eventually grant T'Pol a divorce and it's all fine means that T'Pol isn't lawfully required to have another man waiting if her HUSBAND doesn't want her. It's ONLY required if SHE doesn't want her husband. Tradition must take precedence over individual desire UNLESS!!! You're a man. Then it's fine. Like, your parents might not be happy but legally you're golden.
#as a note do NOT read the comments on any T'Pol marriage clips on youtube they're full of 'haha women amiright' jokes about#how she's leading Trip on and being a bitch for not choosing him etc - if you become interested in female characters you learn#quickly just how much people still hate women displaying any amount of complexity/doing anything that isn't just falling into a man's arms#even if that hatred doesn't take the form of outright vitriol (aka: 'I feel so sad for Trip bc T'Pol's marrying some other guy')#Trip: T'Pol listen this arranged marriage stuff is no good - you've gotta be free! You have to do what YOU want to do!#T'Pol: -legally seen as property of her husband in the eyes of the law- ...............#<- not dunking on Trip it's just funny how easy it makes it seem - but!! He doesn't know all the facts#as evidenced by him saying T'Pol might 'call off the wedding' to her mother - T'Pol can't legally call off shit#It's also interesting how gender isn't really mentioned in any of the clips I've seen - it's very clear to me that T'Pol has no options#specifically because she's a WOMAN within her culture but that's almost like a quiet undercurrent and not focused on as a main#point of dissatisfaction - which I imagine it 1000% would be for Vulcan women when men have infinitely more freedom#Vulcan Man: I don't wanna marry this lady#Vulcan Law: Ok#Vulcan Woman: I don't wanna marry this guy#Vulcan Law: Noted. So - if you and your lover are willing to risk his life there's a chance (if he wins) that you can get out of marrying#him BUT if your husband kills your lover and still wants to marry you you DOOO have to marry him sorry you just gotta#<- this also makes it incredibly dangerous to in any way warn your legal husband that a kal-if-fee might be incoming#the element of surprise is a HUGE advantage when it comes to winning a fight to the death (which your lover can train for)#Vulcans#T'Pol#T'Pring#star trek#I don't think this is bad necessarily (as a fictional worldbuilding thing) but I wish it were explored more#It's especially interesting because it's an aspect of logical Vulcan society - it's clearly not logical but it's also clearly rooted deeply#in tradition which may mean Vulcan long ago used to have a much more extreme gender bias towards the male population#it just implies a lot that Vulcan has these old laws which are unfair towards women yet they still follow BUT women are treated as equal#citizens OUTSIDE of marriage! Maybe there was a feminist movement before? Is there another brewing? Where are the Vulcan feminists!

The way destiny harms everyone. Raven being destined to go insane and end up in a prison cell just like her mother. Hunter and Ashlynn. Blondie trying so hard to be royal even though she knows she never will be. Briar partying every night, waiting for the night she won't be able to any more. Daring smiling all day every day, going through girls like they're fashion trends. Doing the same thing as Briar on a smaller scale. Apple parading around Daring like a toy while he dates other girls. Putting their relationship on a pedastal even while it isn't a relationship at all, because if it's so perfect then it doesn't have to be real. Snow White wearing glasses in private just like her daughter. Apple never knowing that. You can beg and claw your way through the system but it will still chew you up and spit you out.

The attack on Iran is not just Israel's fault, it's also islamic republic's fault. Governments and regimes acting only on their own self-interest, putting on displays, initiating attacks and then getting revenge and doing counterattacks as if all they want is to not be outdone by the other, AS IF INNOCENT PEOPLE AND CIVILIANS DO NOT EXIST IN THE EQUATION! This is our dictator regime's fault as much as it is Israel's (I'm not even going to get into Israel's role in this and its sheer audacity, what's obvious doesn't need pointing out.) Persians have rebelled against the IR regime again and again, calling them out on their acts of terrorism and their meddling in neighboring countries' affairs, and they got killed as a result. Iranians are not mad about the political and military figureheads that were killed, No. They are mad that their government's reckless and selfish actions have led to THIS, to getting bombed at 3 in the morning, innocent people suffering. We are scared and angry because when this leads to war, leaders and presidents and prime ministers and such are not the ones that will suffer. They can hide and run away and be protected at anytime. It's the ordinary people, innocent people, that will get caught in the crossfire.
So do not mistake us Iranians' rage and fear of these attacks as being sympathetic to the regime. No. We want them gone and you'd know that if you've been following the protests that had happened and have been happening. But we also don't want a war to wreck an already broken country and a people that are already being killed in their own land by their own leaders.

A couple of years ago, just before the start of the pandemic, I started having panic attacks when I'd sit down to draw anything. I don't know why, but it came on suddenly and got worse the more I tried to fight it.
Eventually, I stopped forcing myself to try, but I still felt guilty for not being able to produce anything. It's weird when you spend most of your life as "the artsy person" and then it stops.
I felt like most of my value as a person came from what I was outputting. If I couldn't draw then what was I good for? If I were just better, worked harder, even enjoyed drawing more, then I could've made a career out of art and then I could like myself.
Honestly, the best thing I've done for myself after that started happening was letting it go and moving on to something else. I started gardening. I've been reading books a lot. I picked up bass guitar and joined a band.
Getting into music in particular made me realize how awful my attitude towards drawing had gotten. It feels like how drawing used to feel like to me, when I was a kid.
I've made so much progress in the last year since I started learning bass, and it's because I have a willingness to try difficult things and fail-- the act of doing it is fun.
I've met fun people, I've played gigs (which would've been unthinkable even a year ago), and I'm feeling a lot better about myself.
I have a well of curiosity driving me that's been missing for awhile. I'm seeking out social interactions with musicians who are better than me, whereas I had closed myself off from working with other artists because I never felt good enough.
And most importantly, I don't feel like if I fail, it's a reflection of myself as a human-- it's just part of the process. If I suck at it, who gives a shit? Participating has more value than perfection. If my feelings get ugly, I can move onto the next thing. There's more stuff in the world to experience than any of us can ever get to. It's fine if this is just one of them.
Since I've had that realization, I've been slowly able to draw again. I can recognize the destructive thoughts when they're happening, even if I can't fully stop them yet. It's been A LOT easier if I'm drawing something for someone else instead of myself.
I'm hoping in the next year I can get even more of the enjoyment back, but if not, I'll still be ok.

something something AU in which Zuko is Ikem's son, but everyone in the royal family (including Zuko) knows about it and the ripple effects that has on the story.
in which Ikem gets married to Ursa, but this does not matter to Azulon at all. He is determined to introduce Roku's bloodline into the royal family, so he simply absolves their marriage and has Ursa marry his second son instead. She has no say in the matter. The only wrinkle is that she is already pregnant. Ursa carries Zuko to term anyways.
he has no royal lineage, but he is still of Avatar Roku's bloodline- and Azulon decides that could still be useful to him. Zuko's fate hinges on whether or not he is a firebender- if he isn't, then Azulon will allow the boy to return to his blood father. if he is... then he will remain at the palace and will be raised as a member of the royal family.
unfortunately for Zuko, he is.
Zuko grows up keenly aware he's the odd one out in the royal family. He's not of Sozin's bloodline- it's just an accident that he ended up as part of the royal family. It's clear his step-father resents his existence, especially once he and his mother have a child of their own. he grows up resenting Azula in turn, because she serves as constant reminder of everything Zuko's not.
(Azula resents him because it could not be more obvious why mother likes her half-brother better.)
everyone knows that Zuko's title of 'prince' is a farce. he has no royal blood. he is simply Fire Lady Ursa's child from her previous marriage. he is expected to learn how to carry himself as one, but he has no duties at the palace. the only thing he is truly expected to do is to be a good firebender, and Zuko's not even really that.
(Azulon is indifferent. As long as the boy can marry well, his children may one day be of service to the royal family.)
he's an outsider in his own home. his step-father barely acknowledges his existence. fire lord azulon does, occasionally, but it's rare. his mother loves him, and so does his cousin Lu Ten- who doesn't seem to care that they don't share any blood. But then Lu Ten goes off to war- and dies. Then Azulon dies, and his mother disappears.
Zuko is suddenly very, very alone.
he manages to avoid the fallout for three years. he had just started lessons with master piandao, who manages to convince the new fire lord to allow zuko to come and live with him for awhile in order to truly study the way of the sword. those are probably some of the best years of Zuko's life- he thrives there.
(he also learns things there that his tutors at the Caldera would never tell him.)
but he can't avoid the inevitable. he has to return home at some point. ozai never quite strips him of his title of prince- but he's not his heir. azula is the crown princess. zuko is just an extra. he might be a useful pawn for marriage, like his step-grandfather always said. at the same time, it's obvious that ozai is looking for an excuse to get rid of him.
zuko keeps his head down. tries to not give him one.
ozai finds it anyways. zuko is burned and banished- sent to look for the avatar. he knows the task is impossible. lu ten's father- his step-uncle- is there to keep an eye on him. he wonders if maybe there's a fraction of a chance that his step-father might actually see him as worth something if he manages to do the impossible.
then he does. and the avatar is a twelve year old child.
he can't do it. he knows what his step-father and half-sister are like. when the avatar escapes, he doesn't even try that hard to stop him. he lets zhao temporarily detain him. then in the middle of the night, he packs his bags and leaves.
the avatar needs someone to teach him firebending. maybe it should be him.

listen i do appreciate canon marineford for the tragedy it is. however it does happen to also be extremely funny.
ace is on his knees on the execution platform, the same place the father that he despises and has tried to define himself outside for his whole life had knelt, thinking this might be the most fitting ending to the life long crashout ace started when he found out who his father was
and then in comes LUFFY, his cheerful persistent little menace of a brother, who has come to COP CENTRAL to break ace out PUBLICLY.
Not only that, but he’s staged a mass break out of the formerly inescapable prison IMPEL DOWN (HE WASNT EVEN LOCKED UP IN THERE? SO EVERYONES A LITTLE BIT CONFUSED AS TO HOW THAT HAPPENED???)
He also kind of looks like shit? But he’s fighting like he’s on day three of a methamphetamine high so no one can be sure how injured luffy Really is.
side note: luffy tanked a lung full of Kills You Dead Toxin and then got shot full of Lowers Your Lifespan Drug and on top of all that, DEMANDED the Super Lowers Your Lifespan Drug when he realized he might need anything resembling recovery time.
as an elder sibling myself, ace might’ve been truly grateful for being loved at the end, but i KNOW there’s a part of him that was INFURIATED that his kid brother managed to crash out harder than he did like OMG STOP COPYING ME FRRRRRRRRRR.
#one piece#marineford#portgas d ace#my posts#imagine being upstaged at your own execution by the snot nosed kid brother you used to bully for sport. PERSONALLY I WOULD BE FURIOUS.#ace looks at luffy like: surely his disregard for his own life and reckless actions have nothing to do with my influence on him as a child.#surely not!#ace and sabo raised each other and luffy. and i do think that the crashout gene that the three of them seem to share is directly bc of that#like luffy and sabo were professional crash outs before. like there’s a certain level of ‘idc if i get beat to shit i’m taking you with me’#that growing up fighting tigers and bears and wolves or whatever instills in a person#but after marineford? you cannot tell me that luffy and sabo aren’t fighting for the empty throne of crashout king in aces honor.#sure they have REASONS for what they do. but the casual disregard for ANY personal consequences post marineford is kind of awe inspiring.#after luffy beat enels ass with the golden mii fists after getting his ass beat into the ground three full times i truly thought that#was as far as luffys ‘crashout harder than my opponent’ strategy went. pre time skip luffy crashouts are NOTHING compared to post time skip.#and given how sabo is rolling in the manga rn he’s doing the same thing#like it’s one thing to want to fight someone bc they fucked with a homie#it’s another thing entirely to think the solution is shouting your name address and social security at them repeatedly#before you fight Unkillable David the Destroyer with nothing but hands flip flops and a dream#before marineford he was somewhat cognizant of his own mortality. not by much mind you but enough to have that shit make him pause for a#second#i promise that if crocodile had the same amnt of advantage over luffy and tossed his ass into the sandpit after beating luffy to a pulp#luffy would EAT the sand and get back to fighting crocodile#crashout is an excellent word. that describes such a specific state of mind and set of actions. and it is THE most succinct answer to the#question: what the fuck is wrong with the ASL brothers.#the only difference between an irl d1 crashout and monkey d. luffy is that he’s dodged most if not all consequences.

Ooohhh but I don’t think we talk about enough how utterly devastating Pure Vanilla’s decision is—- to stab their Soul Jams after merging. Like immediately after he promised to give both body and soul to Shadow Milk, he fucking stabbed himself. Potentially destroying the two things Shadow Milk desired so fucking much. Do you understand how devastating that will be if he succeeded?? And Shadow Milk survived?? It’s fucking crazy really

The contrast between teenage lan wangji and adult lan wangji is so funny. He goes from 100% obedient uncle's special boy to almost getting disowned and bc everyone acts like nothing happened afterwards he just starts doing whatever the fuck he wants and everyone is too cowed by his reputation to say anything. And it works bc 1. he usually wants to do things that align with his clan's principles anyway 2. who the fuck is gonna stop him and 3. are you going to be the person who says they saw the great hanguang-jun breaking a rule?? No-one will believe you. Even people who do see him doing smth out of the ordinary are like "well. He knows what he's doing I'm sure"
