this house .
#wandertext ♡#our roommate who usually makes dinner has stopped making dinner recently.#it makes sense. she's stressed and there's medical stuff going on. but she didn't give us a warning or any like. anything.#and i would be more considerate were it not for the fact that the two times we said hey maybe we should make our own dinner#she either flat out said no or brushed us off. she is extremely territorial about the kitchen.#and we both have eating disorders. so having the one solid meal we usually eat every day is really rough.#especially for me because i'm so picky about food and i can't do anything about it/don't know how to combat it.#and i'm worried the roommate's gonna interrupt and insist on doing it herself if i try and cook for me and my gf.#because it's exactly the kind of thing she would do. she does it with cleaning all the time.#and if it's something she knows how to cook or has a recipe for i wouldn't put it past her to walk in#when i'm halfway thru cooking dinner#and go let meeeee do it!#but she gets mad at me for clearing off spaces that are communal so i can be comfortable.#she gets mad at me for taking care of myself bc then she can't do it. she mentions her fucking diets in front of me constantly#and acts like she's some health savant. i don't care. right now i'm just trying to make sure i eat something so my body keeps functioning.#ed mention#eating disorder mention#we can't afford much in the way of extra groceries this week so i'm probably going to try and dig thru the pantry#i'm probably just going to raid the pantry for something workable for dinner tmrw. and if anyone yells at me for it#i am going to lose my shit.

So I normally stay in the library during lunch and I looked over and conveniently seen a bunch of psychology books which piqued my interest and guess what I found

I know my page already has a trigger warning but I want to put another now

All credit goes to this book. This is not enfranchisement but rather an educational and summary in interest.
I want to summarize this as best as possible so here we go:
“Anorexia nervous is a body-image disorder in which fear of being fat results in undereating and other behaviors that lead to emaciation and if unchecked, death.” - Hans & Cassidy, Inc. 
Eating disorders have been around for decades as you know, but only been mentioned in media as in the second half of the 20th century. They specify you can be any race, gender, class, age, sexuality, and still have an eating disorder. They just state young Caucasian women are only classified as the common stereotype because 90% of people with eating disorders come from women and of those 90%, 95% are Caucasian. No. This is not a discussion about separating ANYONE as because we all know, it effects everyone. Furthermore, It mentions gay men find themselves fo be held up by this obligation to their disorder as well. The most serious ED is Anorexia Nervosa with one’s weight loss is greater than or equal to 15 of a persons normal body weight for their typical weight and age. Bulimia Nervosa is usually found in a persons normal weight: whilst consuming an plethora of food followed by vomiting, purging, laxatives, or over exercise. Binge eating disorders are found in people who tend to be overweight and is characterized with a plentiful of food without afterwards redemption. Obesity may or may not be part of an underlying issue or presences the absence of something. There is no real founding to one gaining any ED’s. Studies of possibilities may suggest, society, genetics, culture, abuse, other mental disorders, substance abuse, and family contributes. It’s mentioned “…The feeling of powerlessness or personal inadequacy attempt to cope by becoming preoccupied with both the bodies shape and size.” There are 3 stages the eating disorder developed. Stage 1, time when the child is conceived until their behavior precipitates the eating disorder. Stage 2, involves when participant plays into the hands of the eating disorder. Stage 3, the factors in with one perpetuate the eating disorder. In other words, sheer starvation stage. Many people find themselves growing hair where they never have before, bloating after a simple meal or rather just in the feet and lower legs, weakness, confusion, memory loss, disordered thinking, and mood swings. That’s not even mentioning the physical symptoms of cardiac arrest or kidney failure. The death rate for anorexics is 5% passing away within 8 years, and 20% in with 20 years. Purging can lead to: tooth enamel, gun abscesses, and swelling of the parotid glands. More then 75% of bulimics who eat until their stomach rupturing unfortunately die. Laxatives and ipecac cause heart damage as well. This’ll also lead to an inevitable death. Anorexia Nervosa is the rarest of eating disorders. Bulimia Nervosa on the other hand, affects up to 3% of young women and 0.2 of men. About 5% suffer from binge-eating disorder. Finally, obesity is a solid one-third to meet this criteria. Please watch out since someone with an eating disorder may possibly be depressed or even borderline suicidal, which is discovered higher for people with an ED. 
Due to how old this book may be, some things mentioned may already be debunked with modern studies.
I’ll continue reading this book, I greatly recommend if you choose too. Although, I do have my critiques. I wish they got more into the obesity section since it was only very lightly touched on; whereas, the other ED’s had a full essay upon them. They also classified plenty of groups into sections-which as someone with an ED myself, I did not like. Everyone’s eating disorder is valid, no matter who you are and which on you have. I hope you find yourself becoming more so educated on the topic and to help those around you. I hope you find yourself getting help one day as well.

Aviva had somewhat been avoiding Jin since their last conversation—which was difficult, as she was his manager, and they were smack-dab in the middle of a busy training schedule.
Hoseok was currently working with the choreographers to put together a routine to go with their debut song. Aviva hadn’t come to every rehearsal like she used to, busy talking to booking agents, and besides that, not having much (any) experience to do with dancing. Still Hoseok was a friend, and an important group member, so when he asked her to come see what they were working on and give him some feedback, she came.
“This part is on the offbeat, then you turn,” Hoseok explained, demonstrating the move for the other boys. “So, you want to take it from the top?”
Aviva applauded as she entered. “As expected from our dance captain!” She grinned at him, never unimpressed with Hobi’s dance skills. He smiled back at her.
“Don’t overdo it, Avi-yah, his head is big enough already,” Namjoon warned.
“Go hydrate while you have the chance!” Hoseok ordered, pointing off to the side where there was a line of water bottles along the floor. Jimin was already sitting, drinking and stretching. The others moved over to him, chatting as Hoseok sighed.
“What’s wrong, Hobi?” Aviva wondered. Hoseok shrugged.
“It’s going pretty well for our first run, but… there’s just one problem. I can’t help but feel like something’s missing…” He tapped his chin, looking frustrated. “What do you think, Avi?”
Aviva grimaced. “Sorry, I think I’m pretty useless in this situation. I’ve told you before, I don’t know much about dance routines—”
“Yah! Don’t put yourself down like that,” Hoseok said. “You might not be a dancer, but I’ve seen you speaking to the choreographers, watching videos, attending practices and taking notes. You’re our manager, and you’re our friend, your opinion is worth something.”
“Okay…” Sometimes Hoseok made her feel like crying with his emotional words. Half the time she was pretty sure he was doing it on purpose.
After watching the routine, Aviva spoke to Hoseok off to the side again.
“Yeah, I kind of get what you mean. It’s a pretty solid routine, but there’s no…” She made a like explosion movement with her hands. “No spice to make it stand out.”
Hoseok laughed, copying her movement. “Spice! You’re adorable, Aviva.”
“Shut up,” she muttered, feeling her face get hot.
“You know… I think you might have given me an idea though,” he said, leaning down to whisper it in her ear. Her eyes widened.
“Well that’s… daring.”
“Right?” He grinned widely.
“And, I guess, from a numbers standpoint, that would fit our projected demographic well.”
“You mean we’re hot so teenage girls are gonna be into it,” Hoseok translated.
“Teenage girls are one of the most powerful forces I know of,” Aviva said seriously.
“Hey, I’m not gonna argue with that.” Hoseok nodded. “I grew up with an older sister and five girl cousins around my age, and they saved my ass several times in our teenaged years.” He paused. “Come to think of it, they were the reason I got into trouble in the first place, half of the time, but eh, at least they cleaned up after themselves. Anyway…” He cupped his hands over his mouth. “Okay, boys, I have an important announcement to make as your choreographer!” The boys gathered around. “We have a signature dance move for our debut song! It’s… drum roll, please.” Yoongi slapped at Jin’s arm, creating a staccato beat. Jin winced and pouted at him. Hoseok laughed. “The ab reveal! We’re gonna pull up our shirts in the middle of the routine and show them off!”
Namjoon’s eyes widened.
“Are you sure? Pulling up our shirts? That seems… over the top.”
“The top over your head?” Aviva suggested, grinning. Everyone blinked at her. Aviva tilted her head. “Ah, that doesn’t work as well in Korean…”
Namjoon repeated it slowly to himself in English and then rolled his eyes.
“Ah, who are you, Jin-hyung?”
“She’s not as handsome,” Jin said immediately. Then he shrunk back as she looked at him. “Sorry…”
“Joon’s right though, we don’t want to overwhelm our audience,” Hoseok said thoughtfully. “So let’s just have one person do it! More of an impact!” He pointed excitedly at Jimin.
“Why… why are you looking at me…?”
“We’re counting on you, Jimin-ah! The success of our debut song is riding on your abs!” Namjoon said, clapping him on the shoulder and then speeding out of the room, the other boys following suit, as if afraid Hoseok might change his mind and make them all do it again. Aviva frowned.
“You okay, Jiminie? If it’s too much pressure, Hoseok can think of something else.”
Hoseok frowned. “What? I like this idea,” he grumbled. She elbowed him. “Yeah, sure, fine. Leave to me, manager.”
“No, it’s fine,” Jimin said, his smile a lot weaker than his usual shining grin. “I’ll do it. Don’t worry about me, manager-noona.” He left the room quickly. Aviva let out a breath.
“You guys better not pressure him too much. Honestly, it’s like we’ve learned nothing from that whole thing with Kookie…”
Over the next few days, Aviva kept an eye out for Jimin. She made a worrying observation that he didn’t appear to be eating, turning down even Jin’s home cooked meals in favor of diet shakes.
So Aviva sucked up her pride and asked Jin and Taehyung for help.
“I’ve heard it’s unfortunately pretty common in the idol industry, but has Jimin-ah done anything like this before?” Aviva asked Tae as they gathered in her kitchen early in the morning.
Taehyung had been excited to be invited to her apartment, but now seemed nervous. “Ah, noona, you know, I’m not really sure it’s my place to talk about that.”
“Right…” Aviva let out a breath. “Right, that’s true. I should just talk to him about it directly, but I was worried he was going to get embarrassed and not want to talk…”
“That’s a possibility,” Taehyung agreed.
“So, I thought I’d carry out Plan B at the same time as Plan A,” she told him.
“Is that where I come in?” Jin wondered, pointing at himself. Aviva nodded.
“I wanted to ask for your help making a lunchbox for Jimin-ah.”
“A lunchbox!” Taehyung clapped his hands together excitedly.
Jin smiled. “That’s a lovely idea.”
“If you’re comfortable telling me some of his favorite foods, and we can try to keep it as healthy as possible as well,” Aviva thought.
“Right!” Taehyung nodded, his expression turning serious. “I will make a list.”
“I’ll think of some healthy recipes,” Jin added. Aviva smiled.
“Thank you both.”
“Ah, there is something I wanted to talk to you about, Aviva-yah, if you don’t mind,” Jin said. She looked at him, curious. He cleared his throat. “In private, maybe?” Taehyung glanced at him, looking slightly suspicious. Aviva considered for a moment, and then pulled out her wallet.
“This is the company card,” she told Taehyung, giving it to him. “Why don’t you buy some ingredients for us to work with?”
“Yes!” Taehyung flashed his typical victory sign. “Grocery store, here I come!” He rushed out the door.
“Don’t forget your coat… ah, too late.” Aviva shook her head. “That boy.” She turned, seeing Jin smiling at her. “What?”
“Ah, no, I just thought, for all their flirting, mostly you just seem like their mom.”
She blinked. “Really? I thought that was Namjoon-ah, or you, maybe.”
“Me?” Jin tilted his head. “Well, I guess we can all share the burden. It takes a village to raise a child, right?”
“What did you want to talk to me about?” She cut to the chase.
“I wanted to apologize, again, for overstepping, when I was drunk,” he said. She frowned. “I wouldn’t bring it up again, but I know you’ve been avoiding me, so I realized it must have really hurt your feelings.” She ran her hand through her hair.
“I don’t know… It, that wasn’t very professional of me, oppa, sorry.”
“I accept the apology from you as a manager, but from you as a friend… it’s unnecessary. In the matter of friendship, I was in the wrong.”
“You didn’t hurt my feelings,” she said. “You just brought up something… something I’m not ready to think about, and I was worried you might bring it up again if we talked one-on-one.”
“Ah, well, I guess I almost have done that?” Jin smiled sheepishly at her. “I’ll do my best to avoid it from now on.”
“…Okay,” she said. “But, maybe… some day, if I ever feel like I’m ready to talk about it, would you… would you listen to me? Even if it doesn’t make very much sense.”
“Of course,” Jin said, taking her hands in his and squeezing them lightly before letting go. “Now! Please tell me you have a spare apron, because I am too handsome in this shirt to get it messy.”
She snorted. “Ah, yeah, there’s the one I bought for Soonie as a gag gift.” She pulled the frilly pink apron out of a closet and handed it to him.
“Hmmm…” He was blushing slightly.
“Oppa?” She gave him a weird look.
“Ah, it’s nothing. I just thought… she’d probably look cute in this.”
Aviva nodded. “Of course. She looks cute in everything.”
Jin laughed. “Hmm.”
Later that day, Aviva headed to the studio. She could hear Jimin working on his moves in the room down the hall. Then she heard a loud slam and ran forward to find Jimin collapsed on the ground.
“Jimin!” She quickly moved over to him, pulling his head onto his lap. He groaned.
“Ah!” He put a hand on his head, wincing. She ran her fingers through his hair gently, trying to see if she could feel any bumps or cuts. Jimin made a happy little noise, closing his eyes for a moment before jerking out of her arms. “Manager-noona!” He sat up, scouting away from her. “I’m alright. I just got a bit dizzy and it made me mess up the step.”
“Jimin-ah,” she said, trying to catch his eye, though he appeared to be avoiding her gaze. “I know this can be a sensitive topic for some people, but have you eaten today?”
“Hmm, that’s right, it’s about lunch time. Do you think you can hand me my bag? There’s a shake in there.”
“Jimin-ah,” she said again, taking his hands in hers. They were shaking. “I’m worried about you.”
“I’m fine!” Jimin said, his cheerful tone a little forced to her ears. “This diet is really working! I’m starting to get abs! Wanna see?” He started pulling up his shirt. “Here—”
“Yah, pabo!” Taehyung appeared in the doorway.
“Ah.” Aviva smiled slightly. “I thought you might have followed me here.”
“Tae?” Jimin frowned at him. “Who’re you calling pabo?”
“You!” Taehyung said. “I saw you fall over.” Jimin’s face flushed. Tae looked at Aviva.
“Show him what we made for him.”
Jimin looked at Aviva. She opened her bag and held out the lunchbox to him.
“Tae helped make this?” Jimin said doubtfully. “Tae Tae, you know I appreciate your cooking, but—”
“Don’t worry, Jin-hyung and Avi-noona did all of the cooking, I just helped pick out the ingredients,” Taehyung told him. “I know I’m not a very good cook.”
He wilted a little.
“I still appreciated the thought,” Jimin said quietly. “When you’ve tried making food for me in the past…”
“Yeah, but I don’t think Avi-noona appreciated when I set her smoke alarm off,” Tae thought. Jimin squinted at him.
“Tae, you bad boy—”
“It wasn’t too bad,” Aviva interrupted, waving her hands. “Everyone’s safe, so that’s all that matter—”
“You went to noona’s apartment without me?” Jimin pouted at him. Aviva blinked.
“What? That’s what you…?” She sighed.
“Yeah, so? You get to eat her home cooked meal,” Taehyung pointed out. “So you’d better appreciate it.”
“I will.” Jimin turned to her. “I do.”
“Say that after you eat it, maybe?” She suggested.
“Anyway, Jin-hyung was there the whole time, so it’s not like anything could’ve happened,” Taehyung muttered. Jimin grinned, opening the box.
“Yeah, I’m going to pretend I didn’t hear that,” Aviva said.
“It looks really good,” Jimin said, staring at the food. “But, my diet…”
“Noona and Jin-hyung specially picked the recipes so that the food was healthy, particularly for a dancer,” Taehyung told him. “Noona printed out scientific articles like she was possessed by Namjoon-hyung or something.”
Jimin snickered, and then his face turned serious.
“You did all that for me?” He asked Aviva. She nodded. “But, I’m trying to help too. I’m trying to be the best I can be, for this group. That’s why everything’s got to be perfect… When it’s perfect, I’ll feel better.”
Aviva sighed, pulling her knees up to her chest, and resting her chin there, staring at her feet. “You sound like Jungkookie, or my sister, or me…” She looked up again, finally catching Jimin’s gaze. “But let me tell you a secret, Jimin-ah. You’re never going to be perfect. There will always be another loose thread you can pick at. If you keep doing that, whatever it is you want to do, will never get done. Sometimes the best you can do, is the best you can do at that moment. Maybe one day you will be better, but that kind of change can’t happen instantaneously.” She smiled. “But what am I telling you that for? You know. You’re one of the hardest working people I know, Jiminie.” Jimin rubbed at his face and then took a deep breath.
“Don’t you make me cry!” He warned her.
“It’s okay if you cry,” Taehyung said. “I’ll hold you if you do.” Jimin made a face.
“…Only if Avi-noona joins.”
“…How about a pat on the head?” She offered instead.
Jimin ate half the lunch, slowly. He apologized for not finishing it all, but Aviva assured him that was okay. He hadn’t been eating, so eating quickly all of a sudden could make him sick.
She and Taehyung stuck around for the rest of Jimin’s practice, Tae doing his best to follow along, Aviva even joining along for a couple moves, making them all laugh as she growled with frustration at not being able to follow the choreography.
“Rome wasn’t built in a day, manager,” Jimin teased her.
“Oh, I know,” she grumbled. “But I would’ve probably died trying.”
“Ah.” Jimin nodded. “I can understand that.”
“Live instead,” Tae suggested, slinging his arms around their shoulders. “It’s more fun to hang out all together. I’ll get lonely alone.”
“Okay, but get off of me,” Jimin said, shoving him. “You’re sweaty.”
“We all are,” Aviva said, wrinkling her nose as she looked down at her business clothes. “Hobi’s gonna yell at me for wrinkling my clothes again.”
Jimin snickered. “Oh yeah, hyung does that to me all the time! You’ve just got to change quickly and hide the clothes before he sees them.”
“Yeah, but I was going to drive you back, so he’ll see me,” Aviva thought, chewing at her lip. Jimin smiled slyly.
“We could stop by your place first, and could can change.”
“Ooh, can we borrow your shower?” Taehyung asked, his smile matching Jimin’s.
Aviva sighed. “Boys, I really don’t think it’s your intention to make me feel unsafe in my own home, hmm?”
They both blinked, and then exchanged a guilty look.
“Not at all!” They said in unison.
“Sorry.” Tae bowed slightly. “I know I’ve been teasing you a bit too much lately. I got overexcited because your reactions are amusing and I enjoy learning new things about you.”
“Alright, alright,” Aviva said. “Just get in the car.” She drove them back to the dorm.
“You practice this late every night?” Taehyung asked, looking up at the dark sky as they moved down the path towards the dorm. “Alone? Amazing!”
Aviva frowned. “Jiminie... are you sleeping enough?”
“I’m fine!” He said. “I’m not tired!”
“That’s not what I—“
“I’ve got to make sacrifices for my abs,” Jimin interrupted.
Taehyung poked at his own stomach.
“Hmmm. I’ll just hope for them in the next life.”
Aviva touched her stomach. “A healthy body looks different for everyone,” she said quietly. Taehyung and Jimin exchanged a thoughtful look.
“I know I said I’d stop teasing, but you do have a nice body, manager-noona,” Tae commented. Jimin shoved him.
“Tae! You can’t just say things like that!”
“What? She’s soft and nice to touch.”
“That’s worse!”
Aviva sighed, rubbing her temples. “Taehyung-ah, I think maybe you mean well, but you’re giving me a headache. Jimin-ah’s right, it’s not appropriate to say things like that.”
Jimin shot Tae a pointed look. “Okay, okay.” Taehyung waved his hand. “I’ll retract my statement.” He made a weird swooping movement as if swallowing back his words. She snorted. He smiled slightly. “There now… don’t be sad, manager. You and Jiminie can both have abs if you really want, but do it in a healthy way, please.”
Jimin blinked. “Tae, you—” He squeaked. “What the fuck was that?”
“Huh?” Tae looked around.
“I just saw someone sneak out of the dorm!” Jimin said, pointing at a far off darting shadow. Aviva squinted.
“It’s too dark, and my eyesight isn’t good enough to see who it is. Maybe it’s just Hoseok sneaking out to party. I know he did that sometimes in the early days of training.”
“Did he?” Jimin’s lips twitched. “Sounds fun.”
When they got inside, Yoongi was sitting on the couch working at his laptop.
He looked up when they entered.
“You’re back late.” He crossed his arms over his chest, giving them a pointed look. “Just what will I tell your mother?” Taehyung laughed as Jimin rolled his eyes.
“….Jin-oppa is the mom?” Aviva guessed.
“Of course.” Yoongi grinned.
Aviva looked around. “Joon isn’t up working with you tonight?”
Yoongi shook his head. “Everyone else is asleep.”
“Alright, boys. Get some sleep. I’ll be back in…” She glanced at her watch and groaned. “We’ve only got a few hours. By the time I drive back home and then I have to clean up, and then go to sleep and then wake up and come back here and—”
Jimin held his finger in front of her mouth.
“Why don’t you stay over?” He suggested. “I promise Tae and I will behave.”
“I will,” Tae seconded. “I don’t want you driving while you’re so tired, noona.”
Her brow furrowed. “Well, I guess you’ve got a point…”
Tae smiled. “Yay! Where are you going to sleep? Cause I like to snuggle—“
“Nope!” Jimin said, slapping him over the back of the head. “You literally just promised you’d behave.” Taehyung whined as Jimin pulled him out of the room. “Let’s go take a shower before bed.”
“Are they showering together?” Aviva wondered. Yoongi shrugged.
“Saves time.”
“…South Korea is surprisingly open-minded about some things,” Aviva thought.
“Maybe,” Yoongi said. “Or maybe it’s just us. Anyway, I’m going to be working for a while longer, so you can use my bed if you want. No cuddling with hormonal teenagers necessary.”
“Cuddling aside, I don’t particularly want to be sleeping in a room with six to seven boys,” she told him. He nodded.
“That’s fair. Neither do I.”
“... Sorry I haven’t found a bigger place for you guys.”
He sighed, brushing his bangs away from his face. “That’s not what I meant, Aviva-yah.”
“Okay...” She chewed at her lip. “Can’t I just sleep out here?” She pointed at the couch.
“You don’t mind me working?” He wondered. She shook her head.
“You don’t mind me snoring?”
He laughed. “I’m used to Joon-ah and Jiminie already.” He stood up, stretching. “I should get you a blanket or something—and do you need something to sleep in?” She hesitated, and then nodded. “You’d better come into the room with me, so you can tell me what’s okay.”
She frowned. “Won’t I wake them?”
He shook his head. “They’ll be dead to the world at this point.”
They walked into the bedroom. Yoongi walked over to the dresser, searching through a drawer. Aviva glanced around at the sleeping boys. Hoseok had his hand on his stomach. Jin was surrounded by a sea of stuffed animals. Jungkook was wrapped in his blankets like a caterpillar. She glanced up at Namjoon, who was sleeping with his laptop open on his chest. She hesitated and then climbed up the ladder, taking the laptop from him. He grunted and rolled over, continuing to snore. Aviva started climbing down the ladder, but fumbled while trying to hold the laptop steady.
She half fell on top of Yoongi.
He sighed, his breath in her ear.
“You’re just as bad as Namjoon-ah, honestly.” He steadied her on her feet and stepped away, shaking his head.
“…Thanks.” She placed Namjoon’s laptop on top of the dresser, careful not to disturb any of Hoseok’s figurines.
“Would these work?” Yoongi held up a pair of basketball shorts and a t-shirt.
She chewed her lip. “The shorts are fine, but the shirt would be a little… tight.”
“I figured.” He glanced her over and then looked away. “Namjoon-ah’s shirts are the biggest, but I can’t tell what of his is clean.”
“It’s fine,” she said. “I can just sleep in my undershirt.”
“…Alright. And there’s an extra blanket in the closet.” He smirked. “I’m not sure you’re tall enough to reach it.” She rolled her eyes.
“You’re barely taller than me.”
“Still counts!”
“You keep telling yourself that,” Jimin said, walking in with a towel wrapped around his waist. He glanced at Aviva and then quickly avoided eye contact, his face turning pink. “Ah… a little privacy please, noona?”
“Of course!” Aviva zipped out of the room, past an equally shirtless Taehyung, who just gave her his patented blank faced look. Yoongi followed her at a slower pace. He walked over to the closet and opened it. Aviva walked up to him. “Are there clean towels in there? I’m thinking maybe I should take a shower too. I tried to dance, so I’m all gross.”
Yoongi glanced her over again.“You look… fine, but I understand the feeling.” He handed her a blue towel with a yellow duck on it. “I haven’t used this since I last washed it, so it’s clean.”
She stared at it. “This is yours?”
“Yeah.” He shot her a challenging look. “So?”
She just grinned. “So, you’re cute.”
“Just… just go shower,” he said, his face flushing. “Go shower and then get some sleep before you have to start your day.”
Aviva felt much better after showering. She could use Hobi’s iron in the morning on her button up, and trousers, she thought it had some kind of gentle clean setting on it. She came back into the living room, wearing her camisole and Yoongi’s shorts, which were a bit tight on her, but not too much so.
Yoongi glanced up at her when she walked in. He froze. She sniffed, glancing at the mug in his hand. “Coffee? Are you not even trying to sleep?”
“I have to finish this, but you…” He frowned. “You’re the one who’s cute…”
She blinked at him. “What?”
“Too cute.” He suddenly pulled off his hoodie and held it out to her. “Wear that and cover up before the maknae line rushes over here drooling.”
“Stop being gross,” she said, pulling the sweater over her head anyway. It was warm. The fabric was worn, but not overly soft, it felt nice against her skin. “But thanks for this.” She snuggled into the sweater further.
“…I made it worse,” he muttered.
She squinted at him. “What’s that?”
“Nothing. Go to sleep. The blanket’s over the back of the couch. I’m going to record your snoring and use it in a track.”
“Use Joonie’s, it’ll have more impact,” she told him. He snorted. She plugged her phone into a charger and then put her glasses down on the side table. “Night, Yoongi.”
“…Night, Aviva.”

I’m going to create a canon divergence that is so self indulgent- *insert willow-whitley and kitty AU*
This is a concept I want to write in multiple short parts until I get bored and wear it out- so consider this just a pt. 1
I also wrote this with these last few   fics in mind, so you can think of this as a continuation of those. Or not. But a lot of the same themes do apply.
This is probably going to be first fic that I don’t write in one/two sittings but my classes are a pain in the ass ;_;

  “I want a cat.”
  Willow blinked. “What?”
  Her son fidgeted nervously on his feet. “A cat. I want to adopt a cat.”
  Well this is a... surprise. 
  Despite her and Whitley having lived on their own in Patch for a few months, he’s hardly spoken a world to her since the fall of Atlas. Or spoken a word to anyone, really. She put it up to the radically new environment, and well, the fact that Atlas is gone, the SDC is in shambles, and Jacques had been MIA (probably dead) since the fall. Winter and Weiss had insisted that Willow and Whitley settle down somewhere quiet and safe, and the islands off the coast of Vale weren’t exactly next on Salem’s attack checklist. 
  It was two of Weiss’ teammates who suggested they head to Patch, even offering to let their father know about their arrival. Willow had gently denied the kind offer, saying that Tai Xiao Long didn’t need to bother with them. They’ll be fine. She pretending not to notice the look on all their faces: a depressed alcoholic and her previously isolated, emotionally traumatized son?  Fine on their own? 
  She had then turned around, gathered Whitley (who was sitting on the bench behind her, ignoring attempts made by a few of Weiss’ companions to cheer him up even a little), and bought tickets for the next ship going from Vacuo to Vale.
  Yet when the ship docked on the shore of the island, there stood a blonde, muscular man with a sign that read: Willow and Whitley Schnee, Welcome! in sharpie. He must have saw the confusion (and honestly a little fear) on her face from his standpoint on the harbor because he had quickly flipped the sign over and scribbled on it before holding it up again. My name is Tai Xiao Long. Yang and Ruby’s Father.
  It seems that Weiss’ friends didn’t listen to me.
  Nevertheless, Willow had breathed a sigh of relief. She had quite a few run ins with people on the journey east who recognized her and/or Whitley. The interactions have ranged from stares that were a little too long to pure hostility. It also didn’t help that some people thought it was okay to just grab any well known person they see- she almost broke a man’s arm after he had suddenly seized Whitley’s wrist and jerked him around. He’d probably be dead if Winter and Weiss were there, but Willow had settled on ripping the mans arm away with a glyph and dragging Whitley off quickly.  
  And now here they are, three months later and Willow was drinking a can of soda while enjoying the afternoon breeze on the front porch of their little cabin when Whitley approached her.
  “A cat. I want to adopt a cat.”
  She looked up at her son’s face and saw a familiar look of apprehension that everyone in their family had when faced with the prospect of having to ask for anything. Of course, before it usually involved asking Jacques, or begging more so. Willow had to approach this carefully or else Whitley is just going to recede back into his shell and not speak a word for another three months.
  “Well... we can ask Mr. Xiao Long about it. He surely would know about any animal shelters around here.”
  He scrunched up his nose, a face that she knew in Whitley Terms meant yeah okay... but I’m not happy about it.
  Willow knew better than to suspect that Whitley disliked Mr. Xiao Long specifically. He avoided everyone these days- friendly neighbors, SDC businessmen, etc. Tai had made sure they were comfortable every step of the way. He had shown them around, introduced them to soon-to-be friends, brought them into his home for meals until Willow figured out her way around a kitchen, even invited Whitley to study at Signal Academy. He refused, but Willow appreciated the offer. And she knew Whitley appreciated it too, but he’s having a hard enough time coming to terms with Willow’s protectiveness of him, much less accept the fact that a stranger may also care slightly about him.   
 “Then what do you suggest we do?” Willow couldn’t help but to smile at his childish apprehension. She relished any show of adolescence in her son these days. After years of walking on eggshells and maintaining a facade just short of perfection, he needed to clumsily blunder around like any young teenager would do.
  Whitley tugged at his long red sleeves. “There’s a stray kitten that comes around here at night...” 
  “You have that one in mind?”
  He nodded. “I always hear it meowing outside my window. I want to try to bring it inside- I leave scraps outside my window but it always disappears by the time the sun rises. Maybe if I could get it to come to the porch... In Atlas, they said in the animal shelter that it takes a few weeks to socialize a kitten.”
  He started at her expectantly. Willow had forgotten that Whitley would occasionally volunteer at one of the few animal shelters in Atlas. Jacques only allowed him to go just so he could milk all the PR he could out of it, obviously. But to this day, she had never actually heard Whitley speak about it unprompted. It must have been something he genuinely liked if he was so quiet about it. He knew full well that any hobby that he actually outwardly enjoyed was the first on Jacques’ chopping block if Whitley ever slipped up. 
  Willow stood up on the porch steps and faced her son. “Very well then. Tonight we’ll leave food out on the front porch and watch to see if it comes by.”
  Whitley’s face brightened for the first time in months. “Really?”
  “Mmhm.” She hummed. “Hopefully soon enough the kitten will like us and come inside...”
  Willow’s chest ached at the overwhelming surprise on his face. Asking Jacques for anything always came with a catch, a quid pro quo. Looking back, Willow always knew love was a transaction to him. But being young and blinded by the man- she just accepted it as a slight character flaw. Whitley didn’t know anything other than this.
  She was going to get him this kitten even if she had to crawl in the shrubbery at midnight looking for it.
  For the next few hours he assisted Willow in the kitchen for the first time since they got to Patch. Mostly because he wanted to get the kittens food out as fast as he could, but she wasn’t complaining. She watched as Whitley cut up a cooked chicken breast into bite sized little pieces, his tongue slightly sticking out as he concentrated. She wondered, briefly, if it was safe to allow him to handle a kitchen knife. Willow shook the thought away. He isn’t a child. She wouldn’t insult him by treating him like one. But she still had to be a mother... if it wasn’t too late.
  She tried to be as hands off as she could in these last few months while trying to muster what parental authority she could without scaring Whitley away. He was free to spend his time to do whatever he liked just as long as it was safe and he went to bed on time. Eating three solid meals a day was also a requirement, but that was a sensitive issue that Willow didn’t know how to approach with conviction. He has been cooperative for the most part in this aspect- which came as a surprise since Whitley has spent years trying to maintain whatever little control he had over his own life by strictly regulating what went inside his mouth and when. Which often meant very little eating.
  Willow didn’t want to name the condition out loud. If she did, then it would become a problem. Then she would have to admit that all of this still wasn’t enough to fix everything. Then she would start wanting a drink-
  Maybe everyone was right. Maybe her and Whitley were simply too broken to be able to live on their own.
  But they haven’t been living on their own, have they? Mr. Xiao Long still came by a few times a week to “check up on how y’all are adapting”, as he says. More like to make sure I’m not passed out drunk and Whitley hadn’t taken the opportunity to jump off a cliff, Willow thought bitterly.
  She still didn’t know how much Weiss and her friends told him - but they must have been pretty honest if he was going to be this concerned. Willow cringed at the thought of how he must see her - a failure of a mother. Not only that, but one who’s too afraid to confront the fact that her son is sick and needs help, but she can’t help because she’s not enough-
  “I’m done.”
  Willow blinked out of her increasingly chaotic thoughts to see Whitley holding a small bowl of chopped chicken, staring at her expectantly.
  Maybe I should stop thinking so much.
  “Lets put it out on the front porch then,” Willow grabbed both their plates of spaghetti off the kitchen counter. “We can eat by the window and watch for the kitten.”
  Whitley frowned. “Can we keep the front door open? Maybe if it sees us enough times then it will get used to us eventually.”
  “Whatever you want darling,” She replied, already on her way to the living room.
  And so they sat eating dinner, she on the edge of the couch and he on the floor on front of the open door. They sat in silence, but it was a comfortable one - Whitley watching the outside intently for the kitten and Willow watching him absentmindedly eat. A few minutes turned into an hour and she began to wonder if the kitten was going to show tonight, but a tiny scampering sound brought her and her son back to attention.
  The kitten emerged from the shrubbery.
  It was beautiful.
  It was small, only about a few weeks old. Its pitch black fur made it almost impossible to see without the aid of the moonlight. Its little white socks on its paws and glowing eyes gave it away as it inched slowly towards the now cold bowl of chicken. 
  Willow held her breath, and she knew Whitley was too. The kitten tentatively ate from the bowl, unaware of the two humans watching it. It seemed about half way through when Whitley, unknowing, leaned forward- causing his now empty plate to slide off his lab and hit the wood floor. The sound wasn’t loud, but in the silence of the night it was like a gunshot.
  The kitten’s head snapped up, ears perked in attention. For an almost comical millisecond, the kitten stared at the two of them and they stared back, everyone wide eyed. Then it turned and ran off back where it came, leaving behind nothing but a bowl of half eaten chicken.
  Willow braced herself for Whitley’s inevitable disappointment. But instead, when she turned toward him she saw an expression of joy. His eyes are brighter than she had ever seen them, not since he was a child.
  “She’s a girl,” He said.
  She furrowed her brow. “How do you know that?”
  “When she turned around and ran - I saw her backside. I think she’s a girl.”
  Willow smiled. “Very well then. One discovery is good enough for tonight.”
  Standing up, she reached for both of their used dishes and softly closed the front door shut. “Time for bed.”
    Whitley didn’t complain. He headed off the bed while Willow cleaned up the kitchen- a menial task that she never had to do back in atlas. But she found a peace in it. If given the choice, she would take a lifestyle of chores over the decadent one she had before. Ten times out of ten. This felt real.
  In the back of her mind, she remembered the chicken left outside. After considering, she decided to leave it out in case the kitten came back. She would make sure that Whitley would have this kitten eventually. It was the least she could do.

1. What is my fondest childhood memory?
My fondest childhood memories definitely consist of the lovely people who I grew up with and derived my sense of humor/silliness from: my cousins Anna & Emily, Savannah -- my childhood best friend, and Kaleb, my eternal crush. These memories consist of them in elementary school, camp, and my grandma's house in San Antonio.
2. What is my favorite comfort food?
Probably nachos/chips/chips & queso.
3. What’s my favorite way to exercise?
Uh...DANCE.
4. Am I a morning person or a night owl?
I lean more towards night owl but I try to avoid both.
5. If I could have any superpower, what would it be?
The currency of youth.

I love both cooking and baking :) I find both extremely rewarding and cathartic.

Ambivert strongly introvert-leaning.

Winter because it provides me with the most amount of physical comfort. I love sleeping in a very cold room, opening my windows with no AC on. Sitting in my car listening to music/eating with engine off. Less humidity. Food is tastier. Style is better.

Not particularly? Well, yes but I believe they have absolutely no role or effect on our world.

Healthy Meal Plan in Dubai , UAE
1. Do Food and Diet are related?
(i) Processed Food
When we say processed food we refer to the food which is industrially converted from its original agricultural form to the standard product after going through several steps. Processed food is known to be the reason behind obesity. But today's science does link it directly with the mood of individuals who consume it. According to the western diet study, processed food contains a lot of preservatives, salt, and fats which can lead to individuals developing mental disorders like anxiety and depression. Say Bye to your next junk meal plan please and make healthy choice in meals. 
(ii) Solid Sugars
Sugar, especially the processed one, can lead to multiple mood disorders. Sugar is known to create restlessness in the human brain. Thus, it can make a person more irritated, annoyed, and restless. Other than that it can also lead to depression among individuals consuming it. So hey hey put that teaspoon back in its pot and have your coffee with an organic sweetener because clean eating is what D'Roots wants for its clients.
(iii) Whole Grain Food
Have you ever heard about wholesome food? The food having natural carbohydrates, whole grains, and protein is the one we are talking about. It is scientifically known that people who eat nutritionally balanced whole-grain breakfast are more energized in their day time. At the same time, whole grain food is known to boost the activities of the brain and keep an individual's mood calm.
(iv) Stress Eating
Have you ever eaten a lot because you are worried about your office presentation or you got into an argument with your spouse? Our brain tends to signal to us that we should treat ourselves with some goodies to make ourselves feel better. So it's not always food impacting our mood but it is sometimes other way round. Stress eating is known to be the reason behind increasing obesity among people all around the globe. So watch what you eat while you still can and have healthy meals, mate.
(v) Psychological, Environmental, or biological?
Now the question here is which of the above-mentioned factors are the reason behind linking food and mood. We must tell you all three factors above can be the reason behind this link. Sometimes, our body does not accept some nutrients in access thus signaling our brain to react to them severely. Sometimes, it is our environment that stimulates our brain to eat because of our mood as I mentioned in the case of stress eating. A few psychological conditions also contribute to our meal plans. So it is safe to assume that factors can vary from one individual to another.
 2. Control Mood with Food!
(i) Eat Regularly
Skipping meals or not eating them on a regular schedule can have a great impact on your mood. Dear Charlie,
I feel like shit. Alot has happened since I last wrote to you, both good and bad. It’s been a busy couple of weeks and I guess this is more of an update letter to myself rather than to you - sorry about that, I just need to put my thoughts out there. First of, I feel like I might be on the wrong path. One of my friends sent a message in a groupchat saying how much he apprichiates everyones hard work and that he thought that the fact that we all loved what we did is what holding us togheter. And it might be - I’m just not sure that I love it. There’s so many nights where I don’t sleep at all because of the stress and there’s others when I fall asleep with the lights still on in jeans from exhaustion. I don’t know what I am doing and I keep doubting myself. There’s too many days that I wish that I could just quit, or the forbidden thought that coronarestrictions might get stricter, so that we could not go through with the project after all.
K told me the other day that I’m always so happy. I can’t remember what I answered but I think I mostly shrugged and was like “eh”. It makes me both feel happy and sad that I apparently hide my feelings well, but for some reason I wished that he saw through me. I’m annoyed at myself because I want to have feelings for him. We would be perfect togheter, we have the same humor and we share alot of interests. He makes an effort to spend time with me. It’s easy and I think love is supposed to be easy, in a way. But at this point in time, I don’t have feelings for him, but maybe that’s a good thing, maybe building a foundation on a friendship the best way to go. If you don’t have expecations you can’t get disapointed, right?
From one boy to another. V is really making my days worth living right now. It’s not that we’re close friends, I doubt that we would ever hang out just the two of us outside of school, but he is the definiton of easygoing and I love him for it. It’s all jokes with him and he never fails to make me laugh. We jokingly flirt alot, but we both know that nothing would ever happen between us - he literally feels like a brother and I find comfort in that. The other day he was giving me a ride home and somehow we got talking about sports and excerise, both which I kind of hate and that fact made him surprised. I can’t remember the exact words he used, but it was something along the lines with; you don’t look like someone who hates sports. It made me happy, because as I’ve told you before, I struggle with my body and weight, so to hear from someone who I, for a fact know goes to the gym regularly, that I don’t look like a fat, lazy mess, made me happy. Like maybe the skipped meals makes a difference after all. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think I have an eating disorder, but I try to mentally keep track of my calories and limit my eating. I’d like to say that I see a difference in my body, but I really don’t. The last time I bought a pair of pants, they were a size down from my usual though, but anyone who shops in the womens section knows that size dosn’t mean anything. I’m trying to not get happy when I go down a size, because I don’t want a literal lable to define me. Also the pants really don’t mean shit because my waist has never been the problem, it’s my stomach that always sticks out.
I’ve also come to the conclusion that I need to be more honest with myself and others. I am terrified that I one day will wake up and realize that I’m stuck in a life I don’t want, with officehours, a husband and two kids waiting in the car. I don’t know what I want, but I don’t want that. My plan for the future right now is to move as soon as my studies finish, but I’m not sure that that’s the right thing to do either. I left my life in Sweden and I don’t regret that at all, but do I want to stay here? Not really to be honest, but here’s where all my friends are. Whilst I’m still struggle with opening up to people, I feel like this is a good start. It’s a solid base for a future, I have already gotten a summer job here, which will lead to contacs in the industry, which could lead to a full time job when I’m done. But I don’t know. Everyone seem to have plans and dreams but I don’t. I don’t see myself getting married and I don’t see myself getting kids. I can’t even envision myself having a stable job in there future. I know some people love living in the moment and in the “now”, but that’s literally just my life. It feels like I don’t really care to be honest, all I want is to be happy and I’m the happiest when I travel and escape reality. Can I escape forever though?
I still have more to say, but my head aches and I should try to get some sleep. Thank you for existing.

She gave his body a look over, it made him feel very uncomfortable and the voice in his head decided now was the time to speak up.
‘She sees it too the fat, gross, disgusting person that you are,’ It made him feel nauseous. Her eyes met his. She gave him a sad sort of smile. She approached him in a calming way and cupped his cheeks with her hands.
“Are you feeling ok Sweetie?” He almost said no. He almost spilled that he hated every part of himself, the last meal she made for him didn’t make it aware near his mouth and the stabbing feeling in his stomach makes him feel accomplished. But he didn’t, he gave her a scarily convincing smile.
“I’m ok, just really excited to see everyone,” She nods and removes her hands from his face and leaves the room. A wave of relief washes over Kuroo when she does. He walks back over to his bed and throws on the shirt that lay on it, a smile reaches his face when he glances at the mirror and the shirt that used to cling to his body, no longer did. It hung on his shoulders and didn’t hug his sides as it once did.
Kuroo went over his packed items and made sure he had everything needed for the trip and headed down stairs. He gave his mother a hug and a smile to ease her worry. He opened the front door and as he walked out he almost didn’t hear what his mother said.
“Goodbye my beautiful boy,” He didn’t have to turn around for her to know he heard her. He gave her one last wave without turning and headed to the bus stop.

He knew for a fact there was no lying to this man, but he could try. He explained he just wasn’t feeling too good and was going to take a walk to get some fresh air. Kuroo stood in front of the mirror, disgusted by what he saw. His shirtless torso. He glanced at the packed bag on the floor next to him. Another volleyball training camp had been organised, he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t excited he loved seeing the other teams, the other captains namely just Bokuto and Daichi, and damn he would never admit how much he missed Tsukishima.
What he wasn’t excited for was the food. His mind had come to the conclusion that his body wasn’t good, it was ugly, fat, disgusting. He still hadn’t come up with how he would skip meals. He knew that eating and purging later was not an option, people would get suspicious and he really didn’t need the confrontation on what he was doing to himself.
There was barely a knock before his mother entered the room. He spun around so fast and almost made a move to cover his body, but then he realised it was his mother and she wouldn’t think he’s fat...right? She gave his body a look over, it made him feel very uncomfortable and the voice in his head decided now was the time to speak up.
‘She sees it too the fat, gross, disgusting person that you are,’ It made him feel nauseous. Her eyes met his. She gave him a sad sort of smile. She approached him in a calming way and cupped his cheeks with her hands.
“Are you feeling ok Sweetie?” He almost said no. He almost spilled that he hated every part of himself, the last meal she made for him didn’t make it even close to his mouth and the stabbing feeling in his stomach makes him feel accomplished. But he didn’t, he gave her a scarily convincing smile.
“I’m ok, just really excited to see everyone,” She nods and removes her hands from his face and leaves the room. A wave of relief washes over Kuroo when she does. He walks back over to his bed and throws on the shirt that lay on it, a smile reaches his face when he glances at the mirror and the shirt that used to cling to his body, no longer did. It hung on his shoulders and didn’t hug his sides as it once did.
Kuroo went over his packed items and made sure he had everything needed for the trip and headed down stairs. He gave his mother a hug and a smile to ease her worry. He opened the front door and as he walked out he almost didn’t hear what his mother said.
“Goodbye my beautiful boy,” He didn’t have to turn around for her to know he heard her. He gave her one last wave without turning and headed to the bus stop.

Next thing he knew he back it the ground with a solid thud. He opened his eyes to see Bokuto looking down at him with a blush and confused look on his face.
“O-oh sorry bro i thought you’d be able to catch me,” He held his hand and helped Kuroo up, and into a bro hug. Kuroo hugged back. Bokuto pulled back with an odd look on his face.
“Hey man have you lost weight?” Shit. Kuroo quickly searched through his brain to find an excuse. Then he practically vomited out some excuse about not noticing a change. To which he was very thankful that Bokuto just agreed and didn’t ask any questions. They headed into the gym to warm up when the Karasuno team burst through the door. An orange ball of energy flew towards Kenma. Kuroo smiled at the interaction but turned his head just in time to see Tsukishima walk through the door talking to Yamaguchi about something. His smile only widened when Tsukki seemed to notice he was being looked at and gave a small wave. Everything was going to be fine.
Everything was NOT going to be fine! He couldn’t do it, he couldn’t stomach dinner. After only 5 minutes of being there Kuroo had to excuse himself to the bathroom because all of the food he had to force down his throat decided to resurface. He leaned over the toilet bowl, as his dinner climbed up his throat and into the toilet. He was shaking, a few unwanted tears slid down his face mixing with the vomit in the toilet.
“Kuroo? You ok? You left pretty quickly?” Nonono he wasn’t ok. Please save him. He needed help.
“Yeah man, I think something I ate didn’t agree with me,” He used his still shaking arms to push himself off the ground and to flush the toilet. He wiped his hand across his mouth to make sure there wasn’t any vomit still there and unlocked the stall. His eyes met with the concerned ones of the Karasuno captain. He knew for a fact there was no lying to this man, but he could try. He explained he just wasn’t feeling too good and was going to take a walk to get some fresh air. He knew he was lucky Daichi let it slide.
On his walk, Kuroo found a park bench on the campus. He placed his head in his hands. Then the seat creaked and there was a presence next to him. He looked up and saw it was Tsukishima. He had his usual calm aura about him and he stayed silent for a moment.
“Are you going to ask me what's wrong?” Kuroo asked, turning to look at Tsukki fully. The blonde shrugged and adjusted his glasses.
“Only if you're ready to talk, I had two captains come up to me today to tell me they think you’re not doing well. But both of them said two different reasons. So are you going to talk?” Both Bokuto and Daichi had said something to Tsukki, wow that made him feel cared for. Then Kuroo thought, what if he actually told Tsukki would he do anything? Would he laugh? Would he leave Kuroo all alone? He glanced at the blonde in question, the calming, non judging look in his eyes made Kuroo open his mouth and shit started spilling out.
“I hate myself, I can't eat anymore. I hate my body. I hate how fat and disgusting I am. The reason why Daichi found me throwing up is because my body could handle all the food I shoved into it. I know I'm losing weight but it's not enough,” It felt wonderful to tell someone, but Tsukishima was quiet. Kuroo pulled his legs up to his chest and wrapped his arms around them.
“I know you thin-,” “You’re wrong you know,” He looked up at Tsukki. “You’re not fat or disgusting or weak or pathetic or whatever you were going to say. You’re amazing, you care about others. You don’t feel good right now, but that's ok. I’m going to help you, I have a week to help you. It may not be fixed by the end of the week but if i can get you back on the right track of being healthy then that should be good,” Kuroo was so surprised by this reaction he didn’t realise Tsukki took his hand. As he looked up into the blonde's eyes, a glimmer of hope formed in his own.

In the 1700s, poet James Taylor wrote of the "Great Eater of Kent," whom, Atlas Obscura reports, ate "some 60 eggs, a good portion of a lamb, and a handful of pies — a meal that left him hungry for more."

As for today's competitions, food is supplied by organizers, and participants typically register via Major League Eating's website — the organization that oversees all professional eating competitions. Usually entry is free.
Competitive eaters, like the surprisingly slim 24-year-old YouTube star Matt Stonie, told GQ that when he's gearing up for a competition, he'll eat anywhere from 10,000 to 22,000 calories a day. In a 2015 interview with GQ, Joey Chestnut, the top-ranked eater in the world, said he only binges on solid food once every five days when he's in practice-mode.

At the Vaughan Pizza Fest World Pizza Eating Contest in Woodbridge, Ontario, competitors feast on as many personal pizzas as possible in record time. 
At the third annual event, which took place in July of 2018, Geoff Esper broke a world record by eating 19.25 9-inch personal pizzas within 10 minutes, according to a Major League Eating report. 
His prize for devouring those mini pizzas, supplied by Pie: Wood Fired Pizza Joint, was $4,000. Cash and free pizza? Not too shabby.
 It's inconclusive what, if any, toppings made it onto the pies.

Major League Eaters from all over the world head to Toronto for this annual competition to see how much of the popular Quebec dish consisting of French fries topped with cheese curds and gravy they can consume.  
2017's poutine-eating winner, Carmen Cincotti, the number two eater in the world, ate a little over 20 pounds of poutine in 10 minutes, taking home a $6,000 prize. The competition returns for its ninth year on October 13, 2018.
According to Smoke’s Poutinerie, since it began in 2016 the event has helped raise more than $100,000 in donations, which support Friends of We Care in sending children with disabilities to summer camp. That's probably the nicest possible outcome of a bunch of adults eating a massive amount of cheese curds and gravy for public enjoyment.
9. La Costeña Jalapeño Eating Contest

Molly Schuyler won a $1,500 grand prize for doing just that at the 2018 WBCA Jalapeño Festival's La Costeña Jalapeño Eating Contest in Laredo, Texas. 
While the festival has just passed its 40 year anniversary, it's unclear when people began competitively stuffing spicy peppers into their mouths for cash prizes.
8. St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail Eating Championship

Joey Chestnut won this annual shrimp cocktail-eating competition in 2017, beating out nine other eaters for the grand prize of $1,500, according to RTV6.
The professional eater earned his fifth win by downing 10 pounds and 6.4 ounces of shrimp cocktail (including the sauce) all at once. 
The Indianapolis-based competition has its contestants eat their shrimp with St. Elmo's shrimp cocktail sauce, which is famous for being exceptionally spicy. You can purchase your own bottle here.
7. The World’s Ice Cream Eating Championship

At the weeks-long Indiana State Fair in Indianapolis, visitors can feast on fair concessions, interact with farm animals, and witness the World's Ice Cream Eating championship, where competitors try to eat as much ice cream as is humanly possible. 
Geoff Esper won this year's competition in early August, eating 15.5 pints of vanilla ice cream in six minutes, according to Indy Star. He took home a prize of $4,000 for guzzling down an equivalent of about nine tubs of Häagen-Dazs. 
6. Berkwood Farms Bacon Eating Contest

At the Keystone Bacon and Bourban Festival in Keystone, Colorado, visitors can find bacon sampling stations, concerts, and most important: the Berkwood Farms Bacon Eating Contest.
The bacon-eating competition is still going strong since it began in 2008. February 16, 2018, brought a new bacon-eating champ. Matt Weis, a relatively new competitive eater, was crowned 2018's "gold skillet winner," after he ate a full pound of bacon supplied by Berkwood Farms.
Weis, who is on the high fat, low carb Keto diet, told the Des Moines Register that he can eat bacon pretty much whenever he wants, because it has the "perfect ratio of fats and protein with no carbs."

5. The National Harbor World Peeps Eating Championship

The National Harbor World Peeps Eating Championship began in 2016. Despite its newness, many of the world's highest-ranking eating competitors, including Carmen Cincotti and Gideon Oji — numbers two and six, respectively — have turned up for the Maryland event.
At the inaugural competition, Matt Stonie ate 200 peeps in five minutes, setting a world record. In 2017, he beat his own record by eating 255 peeps. That's enough to fill at least 25 easter baskets. 
4. World Pie Eating Championship

Unlike most eating competitions, at the UK-based World Pie-Eating Championship in Wiggan, competitors must only consume one thing: a single pie. The beef and potato-filled pies measure four inches in diameter and one inch in depth, according to the Daily Mail. 
Whoever eats the pie the fastest receives a free lunch at Harry's Bar (where the competition takes place) and the "Bradley Piggins" cup — likely a nod to British cyclist and sports personality Bradley Wiggins, but with a cheeky meat-oriented spin.
The pie-eating contest has been happening for 24 years now and it has become a local and national favorite. 
Martin Appleton-Clare won the competition for the third year in a row in 2017, eating his pie in 32 seconds flat. Vicky Lindley won the women's competition, devouring her pie in 30 seconds. Champions, both of them.

Ah, Nathan's Fourth of July Hot Dog-Eating Contest, or the Super Bowl of the competitive food eating world.
In 1916, Nathan's hot dog-eating contest in Coney Island turned competitive eating into a sport, according to Time. Every Fourth of July, thousands of people still head to Coney Island to watch people eat one of the least healthy foods on the planet: the hot dog.
At Nathan's 102nd contest this summer, competitor Joey Chestnut defended his championship title, winning his third hot dog eating contest in a row while breaking a new world record of 74 hot dogs, according to NBC News. Chestnut has won the contest 11 times, and only been beaten once — by Matt Stonie in 2015 — since he started competing.
Miki Sudo also defended her title in the women's competition — which began in 2011 — eating 37 hot dogs. Each winner took home a grand prize of $10,000 and a belt (mustard-yellow for Chestnut, pink for Sudo).
