Cmadduo early lmanburg era, secret meetup for politic reasons (cuddling)

at first they decide to meet every week for political reasons in private because otherwise everyone else would turn the meeting into chaos (usually tommy and sapnap would start the arguing then everything would go down hill). but during one of those meetings both of them realize they haven't had lunch so they make pizza together. at first they're sharing banter and making half joking half genuine jabs at each other. then they get in a fight with the flour. then they start laughing.

after that they begin to actually do things together whilst doing these meetings so that they'd have something to do whilst discussing whether or not L'manburg is an independent country or not.

but one day, after wilbur had to clean up a potion mishap that tommy and tubbo caused, and after dream had to grind for more weapons after a fight between sapnap & george led to said weapons being thrown into the bottom of a lava lake, both dream & wilbur show up to their scheduled meeting exhausted.

they agree to just sit and talk, but at some point they move to a bed that wilbur hastily crafts because it's more comfortable. it ends with them just laying next to each other barely even talking about politics anymore and instead discussing their days. they find that they like cuddling, so they start to cuddle during their political meetings.

it's relaxing. it's cozy. they like playing with each other's hair and listening to each other's heartbeats after a stressful day (but, of course, it's still for political reasons). they still have their private meetings every week, but sometimes they sneak off to have a secret meeting which is definitely for top secret peace discussions and not because they want cuddles.

(and if wilbur makes changes to their declaration of independence, and if dream puts the declaration of war on the back burner, and if it ends with peace and unity on the server, then, well, that was definitely their plan all along. not just a side affect of them wanting cuddles. definitely not).

Karl just loves looking at your pretty face. He loves the familiar feeling he gets when he looks at you. He loves your nose and how it feels under his fingers. He loves the way your face fits perfectly on his shoulder. He loves cupping your face with his hands and looking into your eyes. It might be really cheesy, but Karl also just adores your smile. This man just melts at the way you’re entire face lights up when you laugh.

B=Best memory (Their favourite memory of you) 

Karl is a simple man lmao. Obviously he loves going out and doing fun things with you. But he would way rather enjoy your company in private. Just the two of you. His favourite memories of being with you probably consist of being cuddled up and completely devoured by blankets while watching a movie. Or you sitting on his lap while he plays Minecraft, struggling to stay awake while he keeps planting little kisses on the top of your head. 

C=Cuddles  (What type of cuddles do they like?) 

OMG KARL IS SUCH A HOE FOR CUDDLES. Whenever you two lay in bed together he just holds you so close to him the entire time. He just loves feeling you so close to him and knowing that you’re safe and happy. He loves being bigger spoon so he can wrap his arms around you and rest his head on top of yours, but he definitely won’t complain about being little spoon either. He loves resting his head on your chest, just listening to your heartbeat as he has his arms wrapped around your waist. 

D=Dirty mind (Do they have a dirty mind?) 

Karl definitely has a dirty mind oops. He is very open about it too. He can be very soft with you but when he’s whore knee he just wants to have his way with you. That can mean planting sloppy kisses on your neck from behind you while your just minding your business in the kitchen, or giving you ‘that’ look when you come out of the shower with just a towel wrapped around your body.

E=Effort (How much effort do they put in the relationship?) 

Karl is on it 24/7 to make sure your happy. He loves planning little dates, even if it’s just a walmart run or a drive around the neighbourhood, he just wants to spend time with you. Whenever you’re going through a tough time he will drop everything to make sure you’re okay. For example he could be streaming, and you would text him saying you’re sad, not knowing he would be streaming, and he’d just end the stream right there to go spoil you with cuddles and loving words.  

F=First date (What was your first date together) 

Your pre-dating relationship was probably either a friends to lovers one, or an enemies to lovers one. Constantly teasing each other but everyone, including your friends, would know what was really going on. You probably got tricked into going on a date with him for the first time, both acting like you hated it but secretly falling harder and harder for each other with every second. 

G=Gentle (How gentle are they with you?) 

This dude literally treats you like he could break you. He hold your hands like they’re little butterflies and plants the softest kisses on your forehead. He’s also super protective and possessive of you. He hates the thought of you going out alone, and whenever you two are at a party or something he’s just constantly holding your hand or having his arm wrapped around you, to show you’re his.

H=Hands (Do they have nice hands?)

To be honest, Karl’s hands are probably one of his best features. He takes such good care of them and loves wearing rings. He also loves wearing black nail polish, and constantly wants you to polish his nails for him. He could easily do it himself but that’s not the point lol

I=Impression (What was their first impression?)

The first time Karl saw you walk into a room he lost his breath for a second no joke. He was just so taken aback by your charming attitude and thought you were the most gorgeous person he had ever seen. He just immediately walked up to you to ask you for your name. 

J=Jealousy (Do they get jealous often? If so what do they do?)

Karl is such a pouty little jealous boy. He gets really whiney and needy in public when you’re not giving him enough attention. Whenever he sees someone hitting on you, he just gets extra lovey-dovey with you, wanting to make sure everyone knows you’re his. You would know exactly what was going on but just play along with it. One time you joined him on a filming day with the mr beast crew. All the boys would give you lots of attention, making flirty jokes mostly just to mess with Karl. Which worked because oh my god you had never seen him so touchy. You would ask him what was up and he would act like nothing was bothering him. “I’m fine why? Am i not allowed to show affection to my gf/bf/so anymore?” 

K=Kisses (What type of kisses do they like/give?)

Anything that has to do with touching you, Karl is a sucker for. (have I mentioned this man’s love language is 100% physical touch?) He litarally kisses your neck or forehead every 5 seconds, it’s just his way of showing he’s there. He doesn’t shy away from pda either. He won’t hasitate to kiss you passionately in front of a crowd of people. He doesn’t care who’s watching, all he cares about is you. 

L=Love  (Do they show their love?) 

As I said, this dude’s love language is definitely physical touch. After that probably comes quality time. He will get super pouty if the two of you haven’t gotten to properly spend time with each other for a while. For example, whenever you’re on your laptop working on something for school or work he will get super whiney, constantly begging for you to get off your laptop and come cuddle with him. He’s less good at expressing his love through words of affection. Obviously, this man tells you he loves you all of the time, but he gets scared about having deep conversations about your relationship, he’s just scared he’ll say something stupid and mess it all up.

M=Memory: (Their favourite memory in general?)

His favourite memory in general 100% has something to do with you. If he had to pick one, it would probably be that one time he introduced you to all his friends from the SMP. He’d be on a videocall on discord with Dream, George, Sapnap, Alex, Tommy, and Wilbur. They had been begging to meet you since forever, but he always said no, because he was scared they’d say something to embarrass him. But after some persuasion of you, he finally gave in. “HOLY FUCK I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU’RE REAL THATS SO POGGERSS!” Alex yelled when you joined the call and sat next to Karl. You burst out laughing. You all just played Minecraft and messed around with each other for that night. All of Karl’s friends really liked you, and Karl himself couldn’t be prouder. 

N=Nickname  (What nicknames do they call you?)  

He has practically replaced your real name with “Baby” at this point. He loves calling you baby or babe in front of other people to show that you’re his. But when it’s just the two of you he would definitely be the type of guy to call you something really cheesy like sweetheart or darling. You love it tho :)

O=Over  (What happened the one time you ‘broke up’?)

The only thing you and Karl would ever fight about would be whenever your schedules would clash and you would spend less time together because of work/school. A lack of communication and both being exhausted lead to a huge fight once. Ending with you both thinking it just wasn’t gonna work out like this. You had slept in a nearby hotel for a night or two, basically crying yourself to sleep every night, because Karl wasn’t laying next to you. After a few days of both being miserable you realized that the two of you are meant for each other. You showed up to your house again, and almost tackled Karl with how fast you ran into his arms. “I’m never letting you go again.” He whispered in your ear. 

P=Parents (What would they be like as a parent?)

You and Karl both think it’s too early to have children, but you love just having endless conversations about how amazing it would be to have a little baby of your own. Just fantasizing about showing the little thing off to all of your friends, thinking of ridiculous baby-names together. Everytime you have these types of conversations you just melt at the thought of Karl actually being a dad one day. He’d be perfect for it. 

Q=Quirk (Something special about them)

I’m not saying homeboy has abandonment issues but....whenever you get up in the middle of the night to go get some water or something, he either gets very twitchy in his sleep, or wakes up right away and asks you where you’re going. “Y/N?” He says with a sleepy voice. You reach out for his face in the dark and gently ruffle your fingers through his hair. “Only getting some water baby, I’ll be right back.” You reassure him. 

R=Romantic (How romantic are they?)

Karl doesn’t want things to feel forced. He just wants things to be effortless. Big romantic gestures and fancy restaurants scare him. He has a very specific way of showing his affection to you and you know this, so you don’t expect him to wake you up with breakfast in bed or anything. Making it even more special whenever he does pull something like that. 

S=Sad (What are they like when they’re sad?)

Karl didn’t really like showing any emotion to you whenever he would be sad, he felt like he’d be bothering you with his problems. But after you explained to him that you just want to be there for him whenever he’s feeling down, he started warming up to you. Sometimes he would just crawl in bed with you hiding his face in your shoulder. You would play with his hair while he talked to you about what bothered him. He always feels so comforted and safe with you.

T=Together (What are they like when you’re together?)

Karl can be super hyper. Constantly wanting to do stuff like bake cookies or play minecraft with you. You’d obviously always be down to do these types of things with him. But he could also really find the joy in simple things like just watching a movie or getting his nails painted by you. Whenever you would have these types of moments, Karl just keeps cracking little jokes to make you laugh. He also would be telling you how much he loved you every 5 seconds. Just so you know.

U=Understanding (How understanding and empathetic are they?)

Sometimes Karl can have a little trouble trying to get into your mindset. But he does think it’s super important to know what you’re going through and do his best to help you. Whenever you’re dealing with anxiety or depression, he makes sure to ask you what he can do to help you and be there for you. He tries to do as much research as possible, trying to find the best way to help you.

V=Value (What do they value most about the relationship?)

Karl cherishes the relationship you have for so many reasons. One of the most important ones being that he can have fun with you. Both understanding each other’s type of humour, finding joy in the same types of things. He just loves that you know and understand exactly how his brain works, because it’s very similar to yours. 

W=Wedding (Would they want marriage? If so what would they like?)

Karl literally proposed to you 2 months into dating. He knows you’re the one. It’s very clear to him. But after discussing it you both decided that having a wedding would be way too stressful right now. It’s definitely not that you wouldn’t marry him, obviously you would, but you both know that breaking up just isn’t an option, so why go through all that trouble, just to get it on paper? You both agreed on this, but after all Karl just wants to see that ring on your finger, just so he knows you’re his forever.

X=X-Ray (How well can they read you?)

Earlier in your relationship, Karl would often have trouble reading you, he would be very hyper and touchy with you, and would just be completely oblivious to the fact that you where sad or tired or something. But as he got to know you better, he learned exactly how to tell when you’d be sad. He knew to get you some food, put on a tv show and play with your hair, without you having to tell him you weren’t feeling like going out or doing something extravagant.

Y=Yuck (What they would never want in a partner)

Karl would hate to be in a relationship with someone who isn’t in it for the same reason as he is. He doesn’t like to ‘date around’. He want’s someone who was a very similar vision of their future, so that’s why he’s so lucky he found you. The most reoccurring arguments you two have are about not agreeing on your future. He finds it very hard to compromise and doesn’t just ‘agree to disagree’. 

Zzz (How do they sleep around you?)

Karl just has to touch you in some way when he’s sleeping. Having his arms wrapped around you, having his legs intertwined with yours, resting his face in the crook between your head and shoulders, you name it. He also loves to hold hands whenever you two are sleeping. As i said, this man gets very icky about you leaving him when he’s sleeping. So, he just wants to know you’re there. All of the time.

This sweet ass man.

You are just laying on your bed, well sitting really, when he came in.

He had a fuck ton of balloons. And a large box.

Karl seemed like a child on christmas.

Placing the balloons down he handed you the surprisingly light box.

He was gently bouncing as he waited for you to open it.

It shocked you how it even fit in the box.

It was a huge frog bed.

You realized with a pillow you would be able to sleep in it perfectly.

"I knew it was uncomfortable sleeping like that so I got something that should make it a bit more comfortable."-karl

You loved it.

Sadly you couldnt use it till those drains were out though.

He was right though that was definitely more comfortable then laying on a bed only.

He didnt think it through though. And got sad when he wasn't able to fully cuddle you.

But he found out that he could lay on your lap and legs.

You both enjoyed it.

Also he might be a bit squeamish when it came to your chest drains but he was helpful with them.

He helped you clean them and your wounds, he was very, very gentle.

He didnt want to hurt you.

"You know it's ok to do it a little harder. It wont hurt."-(y/n)

"But I dont want to hurt you. I know this doesn't hurt."-karl.

It was sweet. But got kinda annoying sometimes when he couldnt get something off. But he never got angry or frustrated. Just kept very gentle.

I imagine that when he was cleaning your new scars, Jimmy came to see if you got his balloons and if you doing good.

You two were in the living room bowl of warm soapy water, in a large plastic bowl, and karl gently wiping off all of the crust around the scars.

You fell asleep before karl finished and karl was finishing up when jimmy came in.

"Karl. They're alseep."-jimmy

"Yeah but this needs to be cleaned. It doesn't hurt them."-karl

Jimmy and karl literally just sat there till you woke up.

You thanked jimmy for the balloons and thanked karl for helping you clean those wounds.

Karl didnt mind though. Cause this sweet heart cares for you and just wants you to feel better and feel comfortable.

Quackity

He loves you and all but dont expect him to help with the surgical sight.

He'll do everything for you except clean your wounds and drain those drains.

He loves to hug you and kept you warm.

He would stream but you were always behing the green screen so no one would see you.

"Alex. Can you get me to book I left in the living room. I feel like shit still."-(y/n)

He was very quick to get it. And I mean he bolted out got it and brought it in the span of a minute. He gave you a light kiss on the forehead, and whispered.

"Anything for you mi amoir."-quackity.

You gave him a smile.

"Simp."-(y/n)

He gasped offended and looked at you.

"Well only for you though."-quackity.

I imagine as a get well gift quackity would get you something to remind you of him when he streams.

Large duck push.

He knew that his streams could last a long time so he decided it was best if you had a snuggle buddy to help you stay in position.

If the duck got dirty he was cleaned nearly immediately by quackity.

If the duck falls off the bed quackity gently yeets it onto the bed where you can reach.

He might of gotten jealous of the duck a few times. But he seemed to get over it when you went to hugging him instead. Sadly it wasnt that easy to but still none the less you gave him hugs too.

Dont neglect you quack boi.

He needs hugs like you do.

Give them to him. These are the only times you get cuddles. Other then that he is making food, getting you comfy, and fixing your pillows and shit like that.

He is now a maid.

Not sexually though. He just cleans the house, get you things you need, and makes food.

He is helpful.

Just not with the cleaning process of your wounds. And that's fine. He keeps you comfy and that's all that matters.

Also if your cold in the middle of hot ass summer and asking for more blankets he would look at you crazy. Like what the fuck?

But you have them lightly fluttered over you.

He wants you comfy. Even if that means you looking like your boiling alive in the middle of july.

But sometimes he gets sad that he cant fully lay with you.

He gets you a stuffed cat, you use it mainly as a pillow and sometimes hug it when bad is streaming.

You were grumpy one day, bad took rat because of a rat cam stream. And all you wanted was to be warmed up by something else then a blanket.

You were sittinging there looking at bad as he streamed.

You could technically get up and grab rat but he my tell you not to.

So you quietly patted your lap.

Rat immediately seemed to notice and run over to you, jumping onto the bed and laying in your lap.

You felt accomplished and tired so you fell asleep.

Rat leaving made the chat confused but bad explained that you were healing from a surgery.

Chat wished you a good recovery and told bad to go and comfort you. Even though you were asleep.

He tried to explain it but the donations kept yelling at him.

So he ended stream and laid next to you and rat.

This was comfortable.

Eret

Eret, they were a whole 'nother story.

This fabulous being is like a maid service in one.

They have two outfits they wore when you were upset.

A maid outfit and a butler outfit.

You just got home, you were in pain, sitting up and swaddled in blankets and Goose was trying to smother you at this point.

Eret was streaming and you were sitting there in the background, blankets, pain, and goose exsiting.

You didnt know eret was talking about you because you were falling asleep. Eret nor you expected what their followers did.

Her door was bombarded with packages addressed to you. Decorated with words about getting well soon, that they were proud of you, even some saying you were their rolemodle.

Eret decided to have a stream of you opening them.

Let's just say alot of them were food, candies, even foreign food and drinks. Someone made you a homemade blanket in the trans colors.

Best part about that blanket, it was heated.

You were using it immediately as you were freezing.

Eret just chuckled and rubbed your shoulder as you opened them.

Needless to say they are proud of you, happy that you were one huge step closer to who you were.

All they wanted was your happiness.

Niki

She's a sweetheart.

Need I say more?

Well I will because fuck you I can.

Constant cuddles, be it only her head in your lap, it is almost always happening.

When you have to take your pain meds she is instantly on it, do you want soup or a smoothie? You cant decide? She'll make it a surprise.

If you dont live with her then you're staying with her while you are recovering. She doesn't want you alone when you are in pain.

You'll be bedridden until she thinks you're okay.

If she deems you as not fit for doing something she's on it. Drop you glasses for reading/drawing/writing/typing. You bet your ass as soon as she heard that clack and you groan she's picked it up and it's on your lap.

Also makes sure you're good with streaming.

If you say your good with it that day it's a calm stream. There is no lore happening when you're healing everyone was fine with that due to the fact that niki would have to sit out and the lore was with her as well so that couldn't happen.

Will came to visit...

Saw you, took pity, and now you're stuck with two people showering you in affection and comfort.

You saw Wilbur as a brother. And wilbur saw you as his younger brother. So he literally felt the pain when he saw you wince.

Niki thought it was cute and comforted both of you.

Anyways she saw something before your surgery and decided that you needed it.

It would make you feel better.

It made you laugh.

You regretted laughing but loved the hoodie.

It fit so well and it was beautiful, you also were thinking about buying it one day because you could.

But niki beat you to it.

Wilbur didnt stop laughing.

I mean who blames him.

You literally just Yeeted your tits. And niki got you something that said yeet right on top of it.

It worked perfectly.

Also when niki's not cuddling you zuko is.

End of story, you're seriously stuck with cuddles no matter what. Be it from an animal or a human.

Wilbur wont cuddle you more of give you head pats.

Niki normally streamed with you there with her unless lore stream.

So when the second day after your surgery, she had streamed, and you weren't there her chat started asking questions. Wondering if you were good, if something happened.

That's when you raised from your dead sleep, zuko falling off your stomach, shirtless, just to go grab some sock as your toes felt like they would fall off.

Chat seemed relived but started questioning the binder and all that.

Niki explained that you got top surgery and that you were healing still.

"He's looking like he wants to die right now. Are you sure he's fully okay?"-dono

"Yeah I'm good. Just stubbed my toe as well."-you.

Niki was quick to rush over and help you back to the bed.

"Just sit down I'll get you your water hun."-niki

She was quick to fill your bottle up and place it next to you on the table next ot the bed.

She's such a big help not matter what honestly.

She loves you and will do anything for you.

I am sorry this took so long. Just had a very unstable mental state. Also sorry if they seem oc. I'm once more not on a good mental state and have been trying to work on this.

So yeah if I dont post in a bit I'm so sorry just stressing alot. Insomnia is kicking me so hard.

My grandma broke her foot, she's all good though.

And I have taken up most things in my house as I live with both my mother and grandmother still.

Would a bit of vague rambling suffice?

Ok. Ted's pretty heroic in saving Charlotte from Sam during "show me your hands". He's on the ground vibing to the song until Sam pulls his gun on Charlotte. But then he springs up, gives chase and knocks the bastard out.

Ted had no idea that the other officers would run with Sam knocked out. He easily could've been shot.

When he's hitting on Charlotte he says he wants to die doing the thing he loves "sleeping with another man's wife" but soon after he's asking her to leave Sam for him, which would take away the whole "another man's wife" bit. And he says she doesn't want to be happy, implying that he would make her happy. (Or he thinks he would)

And if it was just sex, he'd be fine with her being married right? Why would he be jealous of her being with Sam?

Also, when he says "Sam didn't come home at all" he's saying that bc he stayed the whole night with Charlotte. So he didn't just leave when they had their fun.

This might be a silly one, but he talks about not dying in her "dirty ass Methodist church" which means he knows her denomination, which is a pretty mundane life detail to know about someone, unless he really cares.

Plus, in Black Friday, he chooses to go out holding her hand (and HCB's hand...and I'm pretty sure HCB is his brother.) And to die holding on to Someone, there has to be some love there. (Also, she chooses to hold his)

And you know I love his little smirk at Sam's singing being flat.

As for speculation about their relationship, I think Charlotte hadn't felt desirable in a very long time. Sam cancelled at least 2 cuddle nights that we know of. And not being wanted can really hurt. So Ted's first draw was that he wanted her.

We saw how passionate their activities are during tgwdlm, and I think she gets a lot out of that. Bc I don't think she feels great about herself knowing the man she loves doesn't want her. So it's a big confidence boost.

And I think Ted is a very lonely person who only feels safe getting comfort through sex. It's less personal than being emotionally vulnerable with someone. And, as Uncle Wiley/Wilbur said "love is a 2 way street, you have to give something of yourself up". And I don't think Ted feels all that great about himself.

Infected Charlotte and Sam go for Ted in such an intense way after she's turned in tgwdlm, that it seems personal. And, since they are both part of a hivemind, it feels as though Sam has accessed Charlotte's memories of Ted. And we know how the infected can act like themselves/share feelings with who they were.

So I think it was Charlotte's rage at being abandoned (Ted telling her off and leaving her with Sam) and Sam's at being cheated on (his cheating wouldn't factor, he has big issues about being seen as unmanly and having his wife fool around would definitely be a kick to his masculinity)

We see Sam's issues with masculinity when he says "I never miss a musical at the Starlight and if anyone thinks that makes me any less of a man, they can talk to my fucking gun"

Fic summary:

Techno, Tommy, Wilbur and Phil have been hanging out at the abandoned amusement park in the woods since they moved in. Techno likes knowing he's definitely alone with his brothers Tommy likes climbing on the old rides Wilbur likes having a place to play his music Phil likes spending time with his younger brothers

That is, until a group of brothers calling themselves the 'dream team' move in down the road. Will the sleepy boys give in and share the park or will they succeed in scaring the new kids off?

Techno talks it out with Phil

Techno took a deep breath as he opened the front door, by now the sun was setting, it was about the time they would normally start heading home from the park but today wasn’t like other days. How could he stay and have fun when two thirds of the people who he loved most were at home? How could he have fun knowing Phil was probably beating himself up over what had happened?

Of course Techno’s heart still ached, his throat felt dry and he had a pit at the bottom of his stomach that craved for satisfaction. He needed to know why Phil had said those things, he needed to know if he was actually that annoying, he needed to know if Phil really thought he was just choosing not to speak. 

When he had finally found him, Wilbur’s hand clasped in his own, not wanting to risk letting go in case something bad would happen with him too, Phil was sitting on the sofa. Even though the tv was on, playing some random game show, he didn’t seem to watch it. One hand was clasped over his temples and the other was rested on top of his phone, presumably so he could know right away if Wilbur or Techno messaged him. 

The twins stood silently in the doorway, neither one wanting to make a noise. 

Techno felt horrible. Phil looked horrible. The amount of guilt he felt for being the reason he felt so bad was immeasurable. 

“Wil, is it okay for you to wait in the hallway?” 

His voice was almost a whisper but it was enough to break Phil out of his trance-like state. Wilbur seemed to think about it for a second before nodding, sometimes on bad days Wil couldn’t bear to leave his side at all, even insisting on scooching in beside him at bedtime. Today wasn’t one of those days though, Wilbur wasn’t the one who had got upset.

Once Wil was outside and the door was shut, Techno went and sat silently besides Phil. He wasn’t good with words, it was ironic since he was so good at English in school but on the spot he just couldn’t set his thoughts up to form the words he needed. It probably wasn’t even to do with his anxiety issues, he just couldn’t think on the spot. For a moment he considered bringing it up with his and Wilbur’s therapist but quickly decided it wasn’t worth it since in movies and tv shows so many people without issues said they struggled with it too.

Maybe quick thinking was just a skill he needed to practice.

“Are you okay Tech’” Phil finally broke his silence as he stared straight down at their feet

“Been better but yeah I’m alright. You okay Phil” 

“Been better too” 

After a brief sigh from Phil, the room fell back into silence, neither of them daring to look the other in the eye. 

“I put Tommy to bed, the splinter wasn’t too bad. I don’t think Mum and Dad will be home until eleven at least so i can get you and Wil something else to eat, Tommy had a ready meal from the fridge” 

“It’s okay” God he felt so guilty, why was he always putting pressure on his brother? He should have come home with them, he should have helped with Tommy. He needed to apologise to Tommy too, he should have never left him. 

He never wanted Tommy to find out just how messy family could get. 

“I don’t think I’m that hungry, I’ll make myself something if I need” he was lying, it was so obvious and yet he didn’t care. He just wanted to stop being such a burden, he needed to stop putting so much strain on his brother. 

“I'll help get Tommy ready for school in the morning and I’ll try extra hard in speech therapy but Phil you know I don’t choose this right? You know I wanted to call for you right? I kept thinking ‘Phil’s gonna get here soon’ and when you got there I was so happy, I knew you’d be able to handle it. Phil I’m so sorry, I know I’m a lot and i can be difficult to deal with but i promise i’m trying to get better” 

The words kept coming and coming, they were spilling out of him like a broken faucet but he needed them out, he needed to be honest right now or else he’d never feel right.

“God fuck, Techno” Phil sounded hurt, like he was watching a puppy die or something. More than anything, he didn’t sound happy.  

“Tech’ I know you can’t help it, I know you would have called for me if you could have. I’m so so sorry if i ever made you feel like you need to apologise; what happened today was completely my own fault” 

For the second time that day, he was pulled into a hug but he didn’t mind it. Although he was never one for useless affection, he didn’t like greeting hugs or random cuddles, sometimes Wilbur’s clinginess even pissed him off but he could hardly hold that against him, he knew it wasn’t his fault, he loved affection at times when he really needed it.  

“I shouldn’t have yelled at you, I got so worried about them hurting Tommy that it didn’t even occur to me that it was you who I was directing my anger at. It sounds disgusting to say out loud but I just know I chose something that would cut deep and i...i just said it. I didn’t even think about it. I was so upset that Tommy got such a minor injury, I felt guilty for not being there earlier and I just- Fuck Techno I’m so sorry- I felt guilty for not being there so I took it out on the reason I wasn’t there” 

Techno nodded, it hurt to hear, he didn’t like having to face the fact that Phil struggled with things too, he didn’t like knowing Phil just jabbed at what was easiest. 

“Tech’ I need you to know I didn’t mean what I said, i’m well aware you couldn't call, I don’t see anything about you as a problem, I think you’re amazing and strong and honestly I’m jealous of how well you can handle things, I just try to act as close to an adult as I can and pretend to know what I’m doing, you always seem to have things figured out” 

Okay, so maybe he hadn’t been expecting that. Why was Phil, of all people, jealous of him? Phil, who rose up and took care of his younger brothers when their parents worked insane hours to keep a roof over their heads, Phil, who despite all the tantrums and tears, had never once given up on his brothers, Phil, who showed Techno what it meant to love someone with all your heart, without it even needing to be romantic love. 

Phil, who had done all those amazing things, was jealous of Techno, who couldn’t talk to anyone outside of a few select people. 

It made absolutely no sense to him.  

“..Okay” 

Pathetic. Phil had poured his heart out but he was struggling to form a sentence, he just needed a moment to sort his thoughts out, Which were graciously provided by Phil, who sat and smiled patiently as Techno organised the words in his mind. 

“I think you’re probably the kindest person i’ve ever met. I know it’s a lot taking care of us all, and you don't need to be humble about it because I know we do put you under a lot of stress, but we all love you so much and you’ve had such a positive impact on all of us. Me and Wil are both kinda messed up but I dread to think what we could have been like if we never had you, and Tommy’s so lucky he has a proper role model. I’m gonna be so grateful forever that he’s..normal”

The hug loosened a bit and Phil tucked some of Techno’s hair behind his ear, he was biting his lip and his brows were furrowed in thought, all the while his eyes still seemed kind and loving, showing Techno just how important this conversation was. 

“Tech’ I know what you mean but just because Tommy doesn’t have anything like what you two have, that doesn’t make you any less normal.”

He sucked in a breath and seemed to think over his next few words carefully

“Listen, as long as you aren’t being hurt by it, I have absolutely no problem with our house being a little different to others just to keep you two comfortable. I’m well aware you’ll need to be over this by the time you’re trying to find work but that’s not something for me to try and force you into. You’re still 13 and leaving home is a long way away so as long as you’re making a little progress, I’ll stay off your back.” 

He was being hugged again and for the first time since the incident earlier that day, he didn’t feel angry or upset, instead he felt loved. 

“I love you Phil” He finally choked out after what felt like an eternity of being silent 

“I love you so much, you do so much for us”

“I love you too Tech’, I do everything I do because I love you, you mean the world to me. I really hope you can forgive me for what i said, genuinely I know i shouldn’t have said it” 

Techno nodded, burying his face back into Phil’s shoulder as he grinned. He had the best family, hands down. 

“Of course I forgive you, can I get Wilbur in here? He’s been waiting in the hallway this entire time”

Phil snorted at that, he had assumed Wil had gone to bed but now that he thought about it that didn’t make sense considering Techno was down here. Before he could answer, Techno had already gone to the door to get Wilbur, who latched right onto him, probably since they had been apart for so long. 

“I say we watch a film” The oldest grinned at his two younger brothers “come here you two, 

I’ll order a pizza, you two choose the film” 

In the end they watched ‘your name’, apparently Techno hadn’t seen it, which shocked Wilbur beyond belief since it was his favourite movie. Their interactions were quite sweet honestly, as Phil waited with an ear out for the door, he watched as Wil would get excited and almost spoil scenes as soon as they started to play, only stopping when Techno would gently pull him back to the seat. 

The pizza had arrived about an hour into the movie, since Tommy was in bed and these two were both pretty mature, he let them eat in the living room, sighing in content, to himself when he realised they had solved today's problems in a fairly grown-up way. It made him feel like he was doing something right.  

Eventually Wilbur and Techno fell asleep, resting against each other. No doubt they’d wake up with a sore back but Phil neither had the heart to wake them or the muscles to move them, so once the empty pizza box was thrown away, he tucked them under a blanket, left the tv on in low volume, and turned off the light, making his way to bed himself. 

Families could get messy, but they’d always clean up after themselves. 

Bonus: 

“Tommy please sit still” 

Techno sighed as he attempted to comb through his brother’s hair and make him look presentable. After everything from last night, Techno had decided to help out more, not from guilt but from a place of love for his older brother. He didn’t want Phil to get to a place that would cause him to lash out since there was no way he could be happy like that. 

That being said, Tommy was incredibly difficult this early in the morning.

Honestly Techno didn’t blame him. It was incredibly early. 

“Tommy you can have the chocolate cereal you like if you just sit still and let me comb your hair”

That worked.
