TUNGSTEN was formed in 2016 by drummer Anders Johansson (ex HAMMERFALL, ex YNGIEW J. MALMSEEN'S RISING FORE) after his sons Karl and Nick Johansson had let him listen to some songs they had composed together. Anders: “I really liked the songs. My sons are of course younger than me, and the songs were modern metal, like something I could never come up with. At the same time, I could hear melodies that reminded me of Nordic folk music that made me think of the past. The overall impression was catchy heavy metal with both past and future present. I asked Karl and Nick if they wanted to join me in a band and play these songs with me, and I’m happy that they accepted”. With drums (Anders), guitars (Nick) and bass (Karl), and newly composed songs, TUNGSTEN asked Mike Andersson (CLOUDSCAPE, ex PLANET ALLIANCE, FULLFORCE) to do vocals. Mike has a powerful voice and a varied style of singing and was a perfect fit for TUNGSTEN’s music. 'WE WILL RISE' The recording of TUNGSTEN’s debut album 'We Will Rise' took place in the Summer of 2018. Drums were recorded at Heptagon Studios and guitars and bass at Harm Studios, with vocals and choirs later added by Mike. 'We Will Rise' was produced and mixed by Nick Johansson. The music on TUNGSTEN’s debut album has influences from the different backgrounds of the members. Anders Johansson is one of the most skilled and experienced drummers in the metal world, with a background listening to DEEP PURPLE and RAINBOW, but also has strong influences from jazz having played upright bass previously. This musical talent was passed on to Karl and Nick who both praise bands such as RAMMSTEIN and MESHUGGAH. Being from a later generation, they bring modernity and current trends to TUNGSTEN. Mike enjoys a wide variety of bands, from BEE GEES to MESHUGGAH, and listens to lots of different singing styles which contributes to the melodic and varied singing on 'We Will Rise.' The lyrics on TUNGSTEN’s 'We Will Rise' also deal with both the past and present. Some of them are about fiction and fantasy and tell stories of ancient wars, knights and heroes, whilst others are more realistic and describe everyday life with drama, passion, and sorrow in today’s world. ARISING EMPIRE and Markus Staiger, who is responsible for the success of many bands, loved the album 'We Will Rise' and a contract between ARISING EMPIRE and TUNGSTEN was signed in Spring 2019. The record company decided to launch 'We Will Rise' later in 2019. The artwork for 'We Will Rise', as well as the TUNGSTEN logotype, was made by the legendary Andreas Marshall who is known for being the creator behind album covers for bands such as Blind Guardian, Obituary and Hammerfall. Andreas also created “Volfram”, the man on the album cover who holds a guiding lantern and a battle axe. The layout for the 'We Will Rise' album was put together by Rainer Kalwitz. TUNGSTEN recorded three music videos with well-known music video creator Patric Ullaeus, and the first one to be released was the title track 'We Will Rise‘.

Der Freibadsoziologe

Zunächst hatte ich mit Bordmitteln versucht, mich runterzukühlen. Bordmittel waren in diesem Fall meine – für eine Frau – ansehnliche Dub-Plattensammlung, der von mir geliebte Provamel Rice-Coconut-Drink und ein befeuchtetes T-Shirt, das der Saharawind mir, als ich auf den Balkon trat, binnen Sekunden trocken blies.

Als alles nichts half, fuhr ich ins Freibad Hausen. Dort traf ich unversehens auf Doktor Johansson, meinen früheren Zahnarzt. Die Begegnung mit dem Greis war mir alles andere als lieb, ging ich doch gerade deshalb ins abgelegene Freibad Hausen, um dort niemanden zu treffen. Doktor Johansson ruhte allein auf einem zitronengelben Laken, gegen das sich sein blasser Leib ungesund abhob. Aufspähend hatte er mich bemerkt. »Na hallo«, trompetete er zaghaft, wohl nicht ganz sicher, ob wir einander wirklich kannten. Doch dem war so, wie ich unvorsichtigerweise nicht leugnete. Nun hob der Zahnarzt zu einem scheinbar lang einstudierten, tatsächlich wohl improvisierten Verkaufsgespräch an. Erst erkannte ich es gar nicht als solches. Der Mann schwadronierte launig davon, er sei sehr gern hier, da ihn die Soziologie des Freibadgehens interessiere. Meinetwegen. Doch er setzte hinzu, dass ihn sein Interesse unter die Schreibenden geführt habe – er blinzelte verschwörerisch aus Augen, deren Wässrigkeit mich an schmelzende Eiswürfel erinnerte –, nun, er schreibe also, habe gar schon geschrieben, und zwar ein Buch über das Freibad hier. Er suche noch einen Verlag und nehme an, ein Bericht über die Angelegenheit in einer großen Zeitung könne da förderlich sein. Schmeichelnd schielte der Neusoziologe, wie meine Reaktion ausfallen würde.

Ich war überwältigt, vor allem deshalb, weil derlei Anliegen mir normalerweise nach einem etwa halbstündigen Anlauf zu Gehör gebracht werden, nicht aber binnen zwei Minuten. Mir schoss der Gedanke durch den Kopf, dass Doktor Johansson mir aufgelauert hatte, so zielstrebig hatte er auf mich eingeplappert. Nervig. Aber wahrscheinlich einfach ein – für mich – blöder Zufall. Ich tat so, als empfinge ich einen Anruf – der Greis hatte schon damals, als er mich noch in seiner Funktion als Zahnarzt behandelte, schlecht gehört – und zog mich, mit Handbewegungen ein längeres Gespräch andeutend, unter Bäume zurück, wo ich im Schutze einer auf mehrere Handtuchlager verteilten Großfamilie ausharrte. Nach etwa zwanzig Minuten wagte ich mich, auf Umwegen, ins Wasser, schwamm kurz, zog mich an und verließ das Freibad.

If you are like me, and you’re tired of seeing the same -sson last names that seem forever glued to Swedish characters -- or if you’re just a person wishing to play a person with Swedish roots -- then look no further! I, a Swedish woman, believes in breaking of patterns and as happy I am to see more people take on Swedish characters I just wish people would care more about their names.

Although the -sson part is rooted to our pasts we are, oddly enough, not still in Medieval times and our last names have developed into a whole new section of options as cultures mix and match! I do not know all of them and this list will be a constant on-going update as people will be able to submit their’s, as well as me doing some research and maybe hearing some new ones out on the streets of where I live. I’d gladly help with any type of Swedish research and questions you may have, or at least as far my own knowledge reaches so don’t be afraid to come to me with your concerns!

The list is A-Ö, and some last names will feel repeated as we mix and match words and meanings. There will be some -sson names to be found, but underused or forgotten only. Also don’t worry about ÅÄÖ, we get it!

Diese Hörbücher sollte man gehört haben

Hörbücher sind aus der heutigen Zeit nicht mehr wegzudenken. Doch kein Hörbuch ist wie das andere. Von spannenden Reiseerzählungen über packende Thriller bis hin zu fantastischen Science Fiction-Geschichten: Der Vielfalt an unterschiedlichen Hörbüchern sind nur wenige Grenzen gesetzt.

Spannungsgeladene Momente bei „Still“

Wer Hörbücher Apps in der Übersicht für sich nutzen möchte, schöpft aus dem Vollen. Die Auswahl an verfügbaren Angeboten ist riesengroß. Somit ist für jeden Geschmack auch etwas Passendes dabei.

So kommen Thriller-Fans beispielsweise bei Zoran Drvenkars „Still“ auf ihre Kosten.

Bei dieser von Christoph Maria Herbst vorgetragenen Lesung werden Leser in eine dünn besiedelte Ecke Brandenburgs entführt.

Die Geschichte handelt von zwei Kindern, die zur Winterzeit verschwinden und weder lebend noch tot wieder auftauchen. Doch dann gelingt einem Mädchen die Flucht, das nach dessen Auffindung jedoch über das Erlebte schweigt. Daraufhin begibt sich ein Vater von einem der verschwundenen Kinder auf die Suche. Dieser verstörende Thriller begeistert mit schnellen Perspektivwechseln, die Teil eines größeren und komplexen Plots sind.

„Factfulness“: Die Welt so sehen, wie sie wirklich ist

Das Hörbuch „Factfulness“ widmet sich einem völlig anderen Thema. Dieses Hörbüch soll dabei helfen, die Welt so zu sehen, wie sie wirklich ist. Factfulness präsentiert sich als Hörbüch, das lange nachwirkt und fundiert beruhigt.

Dieses Hörbüch möchte seinen Hörern vor Augen führen, dass die Welt nicht schlimmer, sondern eigentlich besser geworden ist.

Fernab der durch Nachrichten vermittelten Negativmeldungen möchte das Hörbuch vermitteln, dass sich nicht die Fakten, sondern die Stimmung und das Gefühl der Menschen verschlechtern. Jahrelang führten der Schwede Hans Rosling und dessen Kinder Ola sowie Anna Statistiken, die aufzeigen sollen, dass die negative Weltsicht eigentlich unbegründet ist. Die Resultate sind beeindruckend. So zeigen die Analysen beispielsweise auf, weshalb Menschen so massiv auf Negatives reagieren und über welche Methoden Statistiken hinterfragt werden, um die Realität dahinter noch einfacher zu begreifen.

„Der Moment“: Wenn ein Augenblick das ganze Leben verändert

„Der Moment“ ist hingegen ein Hörbuch, das sich auf Menschen und besondere Ereignisse bezieht. Der Podcast berichtet vom Leben von Menschen, deren Leben sich von einem Tag auf den anderen ganz plötzlich veränderte. Ein Tag, der das ganze Leben verändert: „Der Moment“ berichtet von Menschen, für die auf einmal nichts mehr wie früher gewesen ist.

Die Geschichten berichten von schnellen Abstiegen, von Ruhm, von Risiken oder persönlichen Aufstiegen.

So reicht die Bandbreite von an HIV erkrankten Person bis hin zum Erfinder des „Moorhuhns“, der allerdings nicht vom Erfolg des Spiels profitierte. Dieser Podcast ist das ideale Hörbuch für alle, die sich im Minutentakt in neue Geschichten und Schicksale hineinversetzen möchten.

Erbarmungslose Hörmomente bei „Nordwasser“

Wer auf die Vorzüge von Historien- und Abenteuerromanen, Krimis und Thrillern nicht verzichten möchte, trifft mit „Nordwasser“ von Ian McGuire eine gute Wahl. Mit einer klaren und dennoch nüchternen Sprache präsentiert sich Nordwasser als Hörbuch für Hartgesottene, die der Lesung von Wolfram Koch folgen möchten.

Die Geschichte entführt ihre Zuhörer ins Jahr 1859, als ein Walfänger namens „Volunteer“ aus Richtung England bis zum Nordmeer verreist. An Bord des Schiffs begegnet der Walfänger neben einem drogensüchtigen Schiffsarzt und psychopathischen Mörder einem Kapitän, der zusammen mit dem Eigner Pläne für einen Versicherungsbetrug schmiedet. „Nordwasser“ lässt allerdings keine romantische Atmosphäre an Seefahrergeschichten wie beispielsweise „Moby Dick“ aufkommen. Diese Geschichte gibt eindringlich zu verstehen, wie bieder und trostlos das stinkende Leben an Bord der Schiffe ist. Aufgrund der starken Desillusionierung fällt es Zuhörern zum Teil sogar schwer, dem Zuhören zu folgen und sich vorzustellen, wie brutal und erbarmungslos der Mord an Walen ist. Allerdings zieht die Geschichte ihre Zuhörer so sehr in den Bann, dass Hörer nicht davon lassen können. Denn jeder Leser möchte wissen, welche Schicksale die einzelnen Besatzungsmitglieder erwarten.

„Ich bin viele“: Science-Fiction vom Feinsten

„Ich bin viele“ von Dennis E. Taylor erzählt die Geschichte des erfolgreichen Software-Unternehmers Robert „Bob“ Johansson, der sich nach dessen Tod einfrieren lässt.

Der Science-Fiction-Fan erhofft sich, nach dessen Tod wiederbelebt werden zu können.

Doch obwohl dieser Wunsch in Erfüllung geht, werden Hörer überrascht sein. Die neue Bob 2.0-Variante scheint körperlos mit einem Computer zu verschmelzen, so dass eine Art künstlicher Intelligenz entsteht. In der Form eines Raumschiffs soll Bob neue Welten entdecken und nach einer neuen Heimat für die Menschheit suchen.

„Ich bin viele“ ist das richtige Hörbuch für alle, die nicht von Serienklassikern wie „Star Trek Enterprise“, „Voyager“ oder „Deep Space Nine“ lassen können. Das Hörbuch stellt immer wieder direkte Verbindungen zum Star Trek- Universum her und verkörpert dabei das Antlitz des klassischen Nerds. Wer von TV-Serien und Science-Fiction-Storys nicht genug bekommen kann, wird an diesem Hörbuch gewiss Gefallen finden. Diese Story wird von Simon Jäger gelesen, der hierzulande als deutsche Stimme von Matt Damon bekannt ist. Inzwischen gibt es von dem Hörbuch außerdem zwei Fortsetzungsromane, „Wir sind Götter“ und „So viele Welten“.

A Scorpions és az Omega 125 éven át búcsúzkodik, de csak nem akarnak kimúlni. A Mötley Crüe valamikor a középső-proterozoikumban adott ki utoljára dalokat, azóta kőkeményen csengetnek havonta a nyugdíj-takarékba. A Tormentor pedig a hatszázhatvanötödik sorlemez után még egy utolsó erőfeszítést kíván tenni… Manowarék azonban sosem szarakodtak ennyit, egyszer csak se szó, se beszéd, fogták magukat, az utolsó sörüket lehúzták a viking-ivókürtből, majd azzal a lendülettel a rolót is. Csak semmi cicó, mondta a jó öreg DeMaio mester, mi nem búcsúzkodunk könnyes szemmel, az minden, csak nem true. Vagyis: TRVE.

Aztán hogy, hogy nem, Eric Adams ráunt a helyi ürgék kiöntésére, Joey bácsinak pedig viszketni kezdett, mert igencsak hiányoztak neki a színpadra invitált bögyösökkel való hagymazacc-cserék, így hát a szálkásra gyúrt alkarjuk megmetszéséből származó vérrel újabb szerződést kötöttek (miközben éppen a Blood Brothers szólt a Maidentől, miután a saját verziójukat nem találták a vincseszteren), és mindösszesen 3 óra 46 perc leforgása alatt összedobtak négy dalt. Siettek nagyon, hogy az esti Szulejmán-epizódra befejezzék. Meg is izzadtak rendesen, főképp a számcímek kiválasztásánál, ám a legnagyobb szerencséjükre ott téblábolt a stúdió környékén az épp Trabant-kékre pingált hajkoronával feszítő Oscar Dronjak, aki örömmel kisegítette őket, és szolgált nekik pár igazán progresszív címötlettel.

Az intróval sem kellett sokat pepecselniük, mert azt még Luca Turilli felejtette ott valamelyik Dorgolord-krónikás lemezfelvétel során, Joey-ék úgy gondolták, neki az már úgysem kell, nyitásnak pedig kiváló lesz. A Blood And Steel is gyorsan összeállt, hiszen elég volt visszafelé lejátszani a Hail And Kill-t, majd felvenni, máris kialakult a koponyacsont-roppantó himnusz! Úgysem tűnik fel senkinek, nem igaz? Kell a Kötelező Ballada is, valahogy muszáj visszacsábítani a faros Samanthákat és Foxokat a koncertekre, onnan pedig a világot jelentő deszkákra. Ám mivel Eric az elmúlt időkben a kócsagvadászatot választotta a konditermek helyett, már nem bírta úgy szuflával, a negyedóráig kitartott fejhangok elhaltak félúton, nem volt mit tenni, izomból tekergetni kellett a potikat a keverőpulton, hogy valami vállalható sikolyparádé összejöjjön. Musikförläggarnas Pris är ett musikpris som årligen delas ut till svenska låtskrivare, kompositörer och textförfattare. Priset instiftades år 2003 av branschorganisationen Musikförläggarna och syftar till att lyfta fram och uppmärksamma årets mest framstående musikskapare.

Om Musikförläggarnas Pris

Branschorganisationen Musikförläggarna bildades 1928. År 2003 firade vi 75-årsjubiléet med att instifta en prisgala för att hylla alla våra svenska låtskrivare, kompositörer och textförfattare – musikförlagens närmaste samarbetspartners.

Idag är Musikförläggarnas Pris väl etablerat och mycket uppskattat. Som alltid med fokus på alla de fantastiska upphovspersoner som lägger den grund musikbranschen vilar på, nämligen låten/kompositionen. Som mötesplats vill vi att prisgalan ska uppmuntra och inspirera alla som på ett eller annat sätt jobbar med att skapa musik.

Priset delas varje år ut i ett flertal kategorier under en festlunch på Berns Salonger i Stockholm. I år arrangeras Musikförläggarnas Pris fredagen den 10 november.

Kategorier

Priset delas ut i kategorierna ”Årets kompositör”, ”Årets textförfattare”, ”Årets internationella framgång”, ”Årets genombrott”, ”Årets låt”, ”Årets konstmusikpris – stor ensemble/opera” och ”Årets konstmusikpris – mindre ensemble/kammarmusik”.

Därtill delas det årligen ut ett hederspris, ett stipendium och ett pris för ”Årets mest spelade låt” (i samarbete med Spotify).

För att särskilt uppmärksamma en kompositörs livsgärning kan ett pris för ”Lifetime Achievement” delas ut.

Jury

I kategorierna ”Årets kompositör”, ”Årets textförfattare”, ”Årets internationella framgång”, Årets genombrott” och ”Årets låt” väljs nominerade och vinnare av en jury bestående av musikskapare, musikjournalister och förlagsanställda.

I kategorierna ”Årets konstmusikpris – stor ensemble/opera” och ”Årets konstmusikpris – mindre ensemble/kammarmusik” väljs nominerade i samarbete med Sveriges Radio P2. Vinnarna i konstmusikkategorierna utses av en specialjury.
