I love to think about Kuras and the MC having a big messy complicated heart-rending argument about His Angelic Atrocities™.

But I also love the idea that MC finds out about Kuras being an angel, and they surprise (!!!) Kuras by being super cool & unbothered about it. And it becomes an inside joke for the two of them.

Leander: (about MC) I'm leaving for a few days, but you'll keep an eye on them for me, right, doctor? :)

MC: I don't need anyone to-

Kuras: I believe I could spare at least a few, yes.

MC: (≧ヮ≦)!!

MC: Hey Leander, I think I might have the secret to getting Kuras to eat with you!

Leander: That's great! :) I'd love to hear any suggestions. :)

MC: While you were gone I heard a rumor.....that Kuras simply cannot resist...(pauses for dramatic effect) a good angelfood cake!!

Kuras sets down to eat a nice slice of angelfood cake with MC and Mhin while doing his ~ precious little mischief smile ~ a few days later. Of course, the doctor must decline for his health.

(And yours--your mental health. Don't fret, Leander. Seeing Kuras pretending to eat is not a good experience. You will be praying to forget afterward.)

Opila Bird's chicks! I redesigned them so now each one has a unique appearance. They don't have wall art depictions because they weren't planned, they just kind of happened. Opila and Tarta made them of their own accord but it wasn't seen as something strange or scary, it was treated like when baby animals are born at a zoo. Banban's resort RLLY capitalized on it LOL. Would you buy a plushie of them if they were real?

They're all roughly the same age, but I like to think Birthday Bird acts like the oldest sibling and Little Beak (originally named Shortcake) is treated as the youngest due to her small stature. Icecream Cake and Cupcake don't have apparent genders cuz I rlly couldn't decide when I redesigned them, I just knew I wanted at least one of the pink chicks to be a boy (hence Birthday Bird's roosterlike appearance).

As indicated by his name, Birthday Bird was often taken from his flock and presented to children on their birthdays. He was pretty well behaved and the most friendly towards humans, and was more familiar with the other mascots than his siblings were. He probably liked Banban! He was very well fed-- kids would often give him crumbs of cake if they didn't eat all of it. Of course, Banban would get jealous if they didn't give him a slice too.

Cupcake was born without a beak and wears a bucket over their head to cover it up. I'm not sure if it hurts, but it is definitely hard for them to eat. I imagine they had a specific caretaker that'd feed them by hand every day when the resort was open. After it was abandoned I imagine the chicks slowly got sicker and sicker due to the lack of food, which Cupcake would've suffered the worst from.

I attempted to vary the chicks' genetics a bit, so none of them look exactly like either parent-- They're generally not very Tarta-esque (I assume Tarta was not planned until literally banban 3 & Devilfood's unique coloring was originally meant as a ref to Opila's unused color scheme "the haze") but I wanted Shortcake and Icecream Cake to be slightly more red to reflect Tarta's markings, and I drew Angelfood with blue feathers on her wings to reflect his main feather color. On the other side of the coin, I depicted Devilfood with yellow beak and feet because that's how he looks in Punchrush (which I think is off model since Tarta also has this inconsistency but it's unique anyways). Maybe I should've drawn Cupcake with red feet like Tarta's?

I named and designed these guys during a brief stay in a hospital (don't worry I'm ok now LOL) and I didn't have internet there, so I had to ask the staff and fellow patients for ideas on cake flavors instead of going with my initial plan of using different language words for cake (matching Tarta and Opila's names). So, the placeholders I used then totally stuck lol.

So, although my name is Angel, I am not an actual angel. I am what is called a guardian. A guardians' main purpose is to help their human with making decisions (my human is Lilly). Most guardians look and act like humans, but we are much smaller. I am about 9 cm tall. I also, unfortunately, dont exactly look normal for a guardian. My sister, Ash, is fairly normal, she looks honestly a lot like littly apart from her hair. I, on the otherhand, have fur, a tail, big ears, and paws. All very not normal things.

I got my name because of a weird superstition, which refers to any set of 2 Guardians as "an Angel and a Devil." Most people only have one guardian, so when Lilly was born with 2, me and Ash, our mom decided to have our sames be a play on that common phrase.

Another funny thing about our names is that our wings do actually match the alignment we were both assigned! I have very fluffy feathery wings, like a stereotypical angel, and Ash has black, bat wings like a stereotypical demon.

As for what I taste like? Lilly says I taste like feather and fur mostly, but sometimes when mom cooks angelfood cake, she mumbles stuff like, "this cake kinda reminds me of-" then she cuts herself off. I dont know if she thinks I taste angelfood cake, but sometimes I wonder.

Interview with God and the Devil

Part 1

And so it begins.

Driving to the interview, I am anxious. After all, when was the last time these two were in the same room? Will it be a free for all?

I decided to meet them at the Pie Kitchen in the Highlands. Maybe the ambience of that area, and the hippie vibe, will keep them peaceful. I hope so. Traffic flowed easily, and I did not catch one light the whole way there.

Divine intervention or luck of the Devil?

Hmmmmmm. Well, that’s another question for another day.

I arrive at the Pie Kitchen, and neither one are here. But the place is alive. A tingle or buzz is in the air. I’m a huge fight fan. And this is how it feels before a heavyweight fight. A championship type feeling. I am nervous, anxious, and hyped all at the same time.

The Devil arrives. Cool and calm, slickly dressed, hair slicked back. Nearly perfect in every detail. I expected no less.

“Hello, Timmy boy” he says and shakes my hand. “It’s been too long. We need to hang out more.”

“Thanks, but no thanks” I answer and laugh.

We both laugh. I told you, he’s a charming character. A snake oil salesman.

Then She walks in. Stunning. The champ always arrives second. I expected the lights to dim and an emcee to start barking something on the line “let’s get ready to rumble”. All business, she takes her seat. A little smile and she says “Well hello Tim. Good to see you again. I’m ready to answer your questions and also ready for his responses” as She nods slightly toward him.

“No handshake or hug?” the devil asks her. “We used to be so.....close.”

“Hello Lucifer” she responds “it has been a while hasn’t it?”

“An eternity so to speak,” she snickers. God has some sass.

“Yes” he says. “The Son of the Morning stays up late now, because nobody tells me what to do anymore.”

Edgy. The Devil has a few comebacks.

I intervene. “Would anyone like coffee, or pie?” I was trying to break the tension.

“Angelfood cake” he says. “And cream with extra sugar in my coffee”

“Devilsfood for me” She counters. “Black. Hot and black”

Well, this is interesting.

So I get their orders and sit back down. “Are we ready?”

“Yes” they both respond at exactly the same time. Eerily.

“I find it very interesting that the first day of the interview is on Good Friday” says the devil.....

Slightly ignoring that remark, I say “My first question today will be for both.”

“Do you hate each other?” I ask. “Does God hate the devil? And does the devil hate God?”

The devil answers first. “Hate? No. I resent her at times. She cast me out and has never forgiven me. All the bad that happens in the world, and they ALL can be forgiven. But not me? How is that fair? I take all the blame, but she gave you free will. I just dangle the carrot. You bite it.” He sighed. “But hate, no.”

God’s turn. She takes a deep breath and says “Hate? No. I am a vengeful God. You will be punished for wrongs and rewarded for rights. Every soul can be condemned or redeemed. Even his. But, he has to want it. He has to earn it. He has to reconcile. It’s that simple. In this world there is no fair. Good things happen and bad things happen. To good and bad people. What matters is if the are clean of heart. He is not. But I love all my children. Even him.”

“Okay then”, I say. “That was heavy.”

They both laugh.

“This is for God” I say. “Could we sin if it wasn’t for the devil? To what extent is he responsible? And if he is solely responsible, are we not punished unfairly?”

She responded “Your free will makes you responsible for your own actions. To blame any other besides yourself is a cop out. I give you the gift of choosing. The devil is a puppet that entices, but only entices. Teases and tempts. But it’s up to you to bite the apple. So yes. The blame falls on the sinner, not the sin.”

The devil lights up. “Oh, I liked that one. Ask me a good one.”

“How about this, were you cast out of Heaven, or did you leave to tempt the people of earth?” I asked.

“Yes”, he says, “a question with some bite.”

He goes on, “I was cast because of my “sins”, but, is that fair? Because now humanity suffers because of me. So, in my opinion, She set you all up. I’m just doing my job.”

I looked over at God and she shrugged.

“Maybe so, maybe not,” she whispers. “He doesn’t seem to mind not being with his former angel buddies.”

“They are all cheerleaders”, he replies. “Blind.”

I say “let’s call it a day”, “Monday will bring more answers and questions.”

We stand up, no hugs were given.

And none taken.

GOSH. uhmmm so my kindergarten often held these cute shows where us kids would perform for fun. i got chosen and was soooo hyped that i did lots of practice!!! i was proud of myself (help) and wanted to 'flex' to my older sisters abt it (help x2). so one day when our family went out to eat, i CLIMBED onto the restaurant table and started doing the dance with no shame (i thought it looked cool, it was not). ...i was five at that time. thank god no plates were there yet 💔
