happy birthday to my hyune. hyunjin who wrote a poem about stay’s eyes and how they shine brighter than any stars. hyunjin who paints old couples because he believes love should be eternal. hyunjin who needs to be chased off the stage by staff because he wants to greet stays longer. hyunjin who always reassures stays that they have a long time left together. hyunjin who reads poetry before bed. hyunjin who writes about love so beautifully as if he is the embodiment of it. hyunjin who says he wants to remain strong as to not hurt stays. hyunjin who says you need to practice with your 200% to show 100%. hyunjin who loves reading books. hyunjin who always tells stays to eat well. hyunjin who wears his heart on his sleeve. hyunjin who started a stay counseling center to listen to stay’s problems. hyunjin who wrote if love is everything, then there is nothing left for me. hyunjin who trained really hard because he refused to be just a pretty face. hyunjin who said that he loves easily, gets hurt easily, regrets easily then repeats the process because isn’t that what life is about. hyunjin who said that the wounds caused by humans are also healed by humans. hyunjin who remains hopeful and loving despite it all. hyunjin who eats with his eyes closed. hyunjin who loves going to art museums. hyunjin who said that there isnt a team that loves each other as much as skz does. hyunjin who said that there should always be a Stray kids before his name. hyunjin who loves so freely and who i love. you grew up so well my hyune 💓 please be happy forever.

you can feel yourself kicking, your breaths sharp and ragged as you’re trying and trying to run away but you feel trapped, your sheets are holding you firmly to your mattress like iron bars. You’re trying to scream for your life as your efforts to run away are failing you and the source of all of your terror is only getting closer. Your voice comes out in nothing more than a silent rasping scream as you feel your heart hammering in your chest.

You’re awoken by two warm hands with a touch so gentle yet firm that you feel a sense of familiarity flood your overwhelmed mind as they take you by the shoulders. you’re being pulled into a big warm pillowy chest as a voice cuts through the eerie sounds swarming your mind. “I’m here.”; the voice is saying. “Right here.” As the two strong arms circle your back and pull you in even closer, where you can hear the sound of his heartbeat, loud and steady and unwavering as his voice keeps rumbling through his chest, soaked with your tears. You feel the darkness of your mind slipping away as it’s replaced with warmth and the welcoming embrace of your safety, your Aaron.

“It’s okay, sweetheart. Nothing can hurt you. It’s just me.” you finally feel your control over your body returning as your hands come up to ball his soft cotton, tear-stained shirt in your fists. His hand combs through your hair, your mind relaxing as his nails graze your scalp. A gentle kiss lands on your hairline and you let out a shuddering breath you had been holding ever since that awful beast had laid its eyes on you.

“are we home, Aaron? safe?” you look up at him in the pale moonlight with your big wet eyes, lip shaking as you plead with him to remind you where you both are, that you’re not in danger.

“Yes, honey, we’re home, safe and sound. In our bed. The doors are locked and the alarm is set. We’re safe, baby.” you can only nod at him as you’re reminded that your boyfriend is easily the single most paranoid and considerate, protective person you’ve ever known. He would walk the ends of the earth to know that you could close your eyes and not feel preyed upon. “I can go and triple check all of the windows? And Jack’s room, if you want. I’ll only be gone a minute?” The uncertainty in Aaron’s voice triggers you to realise you forgot to reply to him.

“No, thank you bear. I’m okay. Please just stay with me?” His eyes light up at your nickname and he inches even closer to you with the tiniest smile on his face as he says “of course. As if I’d want to be anywhere else.”

You look into the eyes of the man who manages to pull you back from every situation and relight the sparkle in your eyes, as you notice a similar light burning in his own. He really is dreamy, and just the person you need to remind you everything is okay.
