Writing D.ohalim again made me remember how bad his flanderization gets by the end of Arise. He starts out as this bad ass Lord with an interesting character arc and he also kicks Shion's butt the first time they meet but then as the game goes on the game makes him so out of touch he can't dress himself, eats bird shit (unironically), and encourages L.aw to peep on R.inwell in the bath (remember R.inwell is 14 in the game. :V)

Arise had so many cool character design and such pretty graphics but it remains my least favorite tales game cause the flanderization gets SO bad by the end.

More AU Majora's Mask nonsense. Full grown adults and Link has a beard and everyone wears a mask to the Carnival of Time. Also acted as practice on Procreate since my partner had an old iPad and sometimes I don't feel like sitting at the desktop to draw. Anju's lines are in pencil because I forgot I was doing the lines in pen between Kafei and her.

Wakana’s baby face really ruins any Anju photos that are meant to be cool/mature. She’s 18 this year but looks 10 and it’s so hard to take her seriously when she does anything other than childish/cute concepts. Unless her appearance changes cost i honestly think it’s inappropriate for her to do anything mature or even sexy because it’s like looking at a literal child and feels like she’s gonna attract the wrong people.

I may have been crafting my own Link build behind the scenes with the help of @r4vioandrupees, @serysem, and others within discord so hopefully you enjoy him! I'll place him under a cut so everything doesn't make your dash too overcrowded

The hero of the Historia takes place as the Link, known here as Link Dotour, after the Hero of Twilight and thus firmly places him on the child timeline. Despite being needed in Hyrule he originated from Termina as a relative, or descendant, of both Kafei and Anju thanks to "The Grasshopper" as our Link knows him. Seeing as he grew up in Termina and not Hyrule (until the age of 7 or so for reasons) he moreso heard of The Hero of Time by the nickname his great aunt Romani called him by.

Despite the triforce of courage being drop shipped to Termina he eventually moved to Hyrule along with his godmother,she spoke of the Hero of Twilight as the Rancher she once knew. With that he was gifted a cat, Seraphina, to keep him company despite moving farther away from any family he knew besides her.

But in doing so he was gifted with the catalyst to his first quest at 7 years old as she would eventually run and get lost within the same woods the rancher once explored and find a mansion built over the temple of time. Within it he would find a decayed form of the Master sword he kept calling "Miss Fi" as she could talk to him in glitchy spurts, a key instrument, the Temporal Trumpet, and the corrupted forms of Twinrova. (this adventure's style is supposed to be JRPGMaker horror a-la Mad Father or The Witch's House) The Master Sword would end up decayed thanks to time. Keep this in mind as this will be a running theme.

His second adventure did not happen till he was 14, giving him time to rest and hope he was done with all the revivals and visions, as you would have seen on the last adventure, every continue was canon as he died but never stayed dead as to make sure he would not fail. As for the visions, Hylia sent him clips of the past, and future, heroes of every branch to catalog and let him learn from their mistakes.

The Second adventure would catch him off guard at a carnival when Vaati decided to come back to play around, letting him fall into were the Magic Sword of the Hero of Hyrule was kept. In doing so it led him to a maze of underground caverns controlled by the wind and hidden safes of the last two pieces of the triforce. With them down there it led the two on a mad chase to get to get to each piece first which resulted in Link eating the pieces right in front of Vaati so he could not swipe them. Alongside his escapades this is also where his Zelda comes in (as designed by @individualperson8756), searching for him as to make sure the king couldn't due to a useless war with a nation not even on any heroes radar. The King wanted him as a trophy piece, to bolster their bark in a way, but Zelda knew the kind was out of his mind and Link was needed elsewhere, albeit not eating ancient relics, Despite that she was an enemy at the start until she could get it through his head that she was trying to save him from a common one. He also acquired two key items, the Loft Wing to glide with the cavern's winds and the Breeze Baton, which should look familiar, to control them for himself (This adventure's style is supposed to be a more classical LoZ game in the vein of Minish Cap)

His Third adventure happens a close while after at 15, but he turns 16 during it, seeing as it is his latest it is still a work in progress with the item still being unnamed but i do still have some information laid out. It would be more of a D&D inspired party system adventure including a friend he picked up in his second adventure and his Zelda. They would also be going up against a broken down Ghirahim alongside him switching out the sword + Shield style for a dual-wielding sped up style of combat, that would remain his style for the rest of his time as an adventurer. Seeing as it is more of a party game he would be bringing many of his past items with the Temporal Trumpet causing them to chase Ghirahim throughout the timeline and through the battles Demise's curse brought onto the Hero's Spirit until finally getting to end him with Miss Fi.

I also do have an idea for a section where Chronicle, his Zelda, gets the party thrown in jail for starting a fight but of course it is still in the starting idea/concepts phase.

Seeing as there are Party Mechanics and Link doesn't use as many magic items as he does melee, he would instead use an item that boosts others' magic and their abilities as seen here for the 3rd adventure's new Key Item.

Ranking Zelda stories because I am bored

Happy Easter and Trans Visibility Day! I'm bored and wanted to rank the stories of the 3D Zelda games. Spoilers of course. Ranked from favorite (top) to weakest (bottom). I also won't be including WInd Waker because I never beat it (not the game's fault, I bought HD during the Switch's lifecycle and got tired of the Wii U gamepad). A lot of my problems are just personal gripes and not really criticisms.

Tears of the Kingdom: Controversial placement, I know (I have been literally harassed SEVERAL times over this take, I am disappointed in humanity). It has its issues, but like, what thing DOESN'T have flaws? Everything is flawed, it came free with your entertainment. The plot beats for Tears of the Kingdom are absolutely insane. The Imprisoning War and the events leading up to it all felt connected and relevant to each other and the events in the present. Not to mention watching stuff like the Molduga memory and the Imprisoning War itself was extremely hype. Seeing the interactions between Sonia, Rauru, Zelda and Mineru got me really attached to these characters. The events in the present also feel meaningful and urgent. Your friends from the previous game are ACTUALLY in trouble in this game and not just being stalked by a giant robot that's doing nothing. The Sages also felt more connected than the Champions ever did. The camera not being locked behind a backtracking quest this time was cool too. Overall, this game's story hit the hardest, especially with the Dragon Tears quest.

Skyward Sword: Great story with a great cast. Backtracking is a bit of a pain and could have been handled better, but I love the events of the game. Groose's character development is truly excellent. Link and Zelda having a connection also assisted in making the adventure hitting harder.

Twilight Princess: As a former Twilight Princess hater, I would like to apologize to this game. I had a biased hatred against the game because I thought it was just TP fans that were toxic when in reality its just the Zelda fanbase as a whole that has a massive toxicity problem (not all Zelda fans are toxic). The whole beginning segment with Ordon Village and the Twili Realm sets up Link's quest perfectly. The story as a whole is really great until Ganondorf. Ganondorf in this game is genuinely really weak as a character, same with Zelda. They at least have the manga to help them but still...

Majora's Mask: I love the concept for this game's story and for the most part its really well done. Its just short and a lot of the interesting stuff is in the side quests. This is totally fine because it helps get me invested in the world, but most side quests are just... meh. Anju/Kafei, the grandma stories and the Romani Ranch quest lines (including the Ranch Race with the Gorman Brothers) are really great though.

Breath of the Wild: Man... This game's backstory is SO, SO, SO GOOD. Like wow is it good. I just HATE how its told. Stuff that would be cool to see is NEVER shown. Like why not show us Zelda and Link vs Calamity Ganon? Not to mention the Camera backtracking quest... I will say, at least it made the Champion's Tunic plot relevant. TotK should've made the Leathers important. Also the Divine Beast quests just don't sit right with me (outside of the Gerudo one, that one was really great). The Divine Beast fights are incredible though, they make up for the atrocious dungeon bosses.

Ocarina of Time: Too boring and unoriginal for me. Yes, TotK takes a lot from BotW's style of story, but it at least builds upon it and has unique aspects like Crisis at Hyrule Castle and Mineru's entire questline. I do like how Ganondorf mocks Link, especially in the Forest Temple, as it makes him more relevant. Ganondorf waiting until Zelda gave Link the Light Arrows just was incompetent though.

Alright, that's my ranking of each 3D Zelda story I have an opinion on. I very much expect disagreement (especially with TotK) and that's fine, just please do not attack me over this stuff. Its just opinions. I've been harassed way too much over my takes on TotK, its tiring.

1, 5, 11 for the rejuv ask?

1 - Favorite character(s)? Aelita, Ren and Venam! Marianette/Maria too. I remember in my playthrough when I played Chapter 3 and got to met her, I liked her so much I was like "am I gonna see her again? please don't tell I'll never see her again :(" and sure enough, I did see her again in Chapter 9, so I'm pleased. Uh, I'm curious on what the hell happened to her though after she got trapped in that crystal thing. I guess we'll find out in V14.

Honorable mentions (Not really favorites but I like them a lot):

Nastasia (Just liked how she's aloof but she really cares about her friend Ren a lot, she's a really interesting character)

Erick (Seriously, he's just a sweet guy. He even gives you the thing (I forgot what it's called, sorry) that blocks the gross smell of sewers! His comment if you talk to him while walking through the sewer about how he pretends to be born on a different month because it feels like he's invading the horoscope or something like that was pretty damn funny. Plus his gym battle is my favorite gym battle.)

Amber (Was actually my favorite character when I first played through V13, liked her character arc. I still like her a lot even if I didn't like her comment about Flora in School of Nightmares.) Cella/Eldest (She's just really cool, also her character in Where Love Lies is legitimately heartbreaking, I'm so happy she's got to live a happy life afterwards though even with Keta dead.) Nancy (I don't know, she's just really caring and sweet. The reunion with her in Blacksteeple Castle is really sweet. Her death is pretty sad, seriously.)

5 - Favorite ship(s)? Venam/Melia, I shipped them immediately after the moment where they shared a bed. Though I'm kinda conflicted now since they broke up in .Karma Files and I kinda didn't feel comfortable shipping exes but at same time I just really like them together. Still, the fanart featuring them is really great and cute. Ren/Aelita, I know, I know. Honorable Mentions: Nancy/Tesla (It's really funny cause it's literally implausible in canon and yet like. I feel like it has really good potential in AUs anyways.), Venam/Amber and Huey/Lavender. I think Anju/Hazuki could be cute, too. Let's be real Hazuki deserved better than her husband really.

11 - Do you have ocs?

Ah, I kinda of have a Interceptor oc. I always like to imagine scenarios of my self-insert interacting with canon characters especially if it's canon events. The problem is, I'm allergic to sticking to just one idea and concept, so they just change constantly whether I feel like. I think the most consistent about them is like, her team. She've got Incineroar as her ace pokemon, then Starmie, Vikavolt, Garchomp, and Sylveon. Her sixth pokemon used to be Banette but that kinda changed. She used to have a Zoroark and Glameow.

Was flipping through one of my sketchbooks the other day and since I had so many [X Character] as Fierce Deity doodles I got the urge to make a role swap where Majora is the Fierce Deity and Fierce is the evil heart-shaped mask. Yk, as a challenge and as a colour palette study and so on.

Anyway, since my brain can't just leave concepts as is, it got me thinking: what if other characters got role swapped too?

Like, the first ones that came to mind are Anju and Kafei. I don't remember if it was the reason in the game, but in the manga Skull Kid Majora turns Kafei into a child when Kafei left his bachelor party because he didn't want to play with him. In this kind of au, perhaps the Fierce Mask meets Anju leaving her bachlorette party, and because she is giggling and skipping he asks why she's acting so childish, and when she answers even adults need to let lose their inner child sometimes he says "then you can be a child" and *poof* now she's a little girl. Perhaps she is hidingfor the same reason Kafei did, or maybe she is worried about what rumors would be spread about him if he was seen with a child. Lots of potential.

Something that have even more angst potential is swapping Romani and Cremia, where Cremia is the one who is aware of the aliens and tries to protect her farm. Where failure results in Cremia being the one left in an almost vegetative state and little Romani doesn't understand what's going on with her big sister. Perhaps the dog lady sent Romani to the cucco guy to keep her distracted while she tries to take care of Cremia.

Perhaps the dancing sisters are juggling, and the juggling brothers are dancing.

Maybe, instead of Skull Kid stealing the Mask from the Happy Masks Salesman, the Skull Kid was guarding the Fierce Mask on the request of the Giants and the Salesman stole the Mask anyway only to get possed by it immediately.

Perhaps it was the Deku Butler who was turned into a tree instead of his son.

Perhaps Lulu goes after her eggs herself leaving Mikau the one alive.

... not sure what kind of swap could if be made with the Gorons though.

I guess one could swap Igos du Ikana and the Garo Master, but I'm unsure how much that would affect things other than the boss battles.

But hey speaking of stuff in the Ikana Canyon maybe Pamela would be the one who is partly turned into a gibdo – or a redead? Or a Garo? – instead of her father.

Like... sorry for the text wall but there's a lot of stuff one can do with this!

yeah there are a few sidequests that preclude others - most notably is unfortunately you have to let granny get mugged if you want to.

FINISH THE ANJU AND KAFEI QUEST

and i mean. yeah theres not time to do Literally Anything but with the ability to slow time and skip ahead to any hour on the 3ds version theres actually more time than you would think. the part that takes the longest in my schedule is getting all the frogs for the choir since a few of them are tied to minibosses midway through the dungeons. otherwise once you beat a boss once you can skip straight ahead to the boss to get the temple clear effects

just about the only thing i dont care to do is get all the stray fairies because. fighting the gekkos for the frogs is annoying enough lmfao. big booba ladies are on their own

the single most important sidequest to me is romani though. the literal first thing i do in a "challenge cycle" is grab a powder keg so i can blast the ranch open

anyway im definitely insane ive 100%ed majoras mask i think... 5 times now?

and part of the joy of the challenge cycle is setting up everything to do it so that as you finish the anju/kafei quest (2 in-game hours so two minutes before moonfall) you can just go straight up the clock tower and kick majoras ass

definitely the most satisfying and challenging way to finish the game for me lol

ok real romani my beloved she needs help immediately. and if you don’t do anju and kafei have you really played majora’s mask??? it’s like such a key part of the experience. and like woagh i just love the way that completing that one happens at the last last possible second where normally you’d have no choice but to reset afterwards but the concept of going straight from them to the clock tower is amazing!!! i can only imagine it would feel so satisfying to pull this all off

Welcome to Maribat Bio Parent Month 2025!

After a year of “retirement,” I am back with this event! And with a few changes.

For starters, unlike in previous years, this event will be taking place in June, three months earlier than its usual month of September. 

Wanted to spruce the event a little bit with its comeback :D

Second, just like it was mentioned in the return announcement, we’re opening the event to not just Bio Dad! Bruce but to all characters from both the ML universe and DC universe!

That’s right, all characters!

Use this month as an excuse to write that Mominette idea in your head or Bio parent! rogue idea and whatever else your heart desires (and would absolutely consume)!

Aside from these two changes, the event will run just like usual, with a bit of a twist. 

The event will run from June 1 to June 30, each day being a different prompt. 

But what’s the twist? We will also have a bingo card! 

Each square in the bingo card will be a different character, having characters from both DC and ML characters. The goal: try to get a bingo by doing as many different types of bio parents prompts!

Of course, you are not obliged to do the bingo card but it’s just there for those who want to challenge themselves. 

With that said, you can participate in as many or as few prompts as you like. There is no minimum nor is there a limit! Want to make art or just write a concept post? A playlist? Go for it! All types of contributions are welcomed!

Alongside the prompts on the calendar, we will also have ten other prompts you can substitute in for any prompt that doesn’t quite call to you.

With that said, the event prompts will be posted some time in late January so be on the lookout for those!

Rosy Chronical Confessions:

Disappointed with Rosy’s first MV to be honest. The Japanese matsuri style had already been done to death (and better) by Ocha. Everyone is adorbs but no one’s singing stood out to me, which I do expect from an HP group. They seriously need to do better with giving their groups distinctive identities. Anju and JJ just released the two Hatsukois. TF lost the sad shy girl thing since Ogata left. Biyo still is still Biyo and guess what it’s probably doing the best right now.

Will Rosy Chronicle take up Kobushi Factory's concept ? That's the feeling I had watching Heirasshai !. If that's true, I can't wait for the next releases, I miss KF so much since all these years !! I need another H!P group with rock energy and/ or traditional japanese visual.

I have a feeling Rosy Chronicle will “flop” as in sell like half what the active groups sell so maybe 40,000 copies. OCHA and BEYO got huge numbers with their debuts (100,000) but both groups had KSS strong followings. I don’t care if Rosy “flops” but I would hate if UFA just throws in more members just for the hell of it because more members = more cheki and talk event sales for them.
