The implication that a woman who shrinks and loses her boldness around a man secretly wants him is beyond icky and it’s concerning the amount of times I’ve seen this thought process passed around between E/uciens.

Just because Lucien is canonically attractive doesn’t mean Elain Archeron is attracted to him. Just because you’re attracted to Lucien doesn’t mean Elain is.

Azriel didn’t smell Elain’s arousal until he stroked her neck. She was not hot and bothered because Lucien was upstairs, but because the man she actually yearns for was touching her.

Elain Archeron is not you and she clearly does not share the same feelings you do about Lucien and their mating bond at this point of the story and it’s really weird to attempt to paint an uncomfortable woman into a woman that’s denying attraction.

If you want to see how SJM writes a woman trying to fight their attraction towards a male, just look at Feysand and Nessian. In both cases, the females did not lose their boldness in the male’s presence.

eluciens: ELAINS BOOK IS OBVIOUSLY NEXT, have you seen the tote bag! or the flowers on the acotar display! or the two elain moments on the bb bracket! or the fact she is the main focus of both acosf bonus chapters! or her status as an archeron sister when all previous books have been about the sisters!

gwynriels: AZRIELS BOOK IS OBVIOUSLY NEXT, have you read the bonus chapter from his pov! or seen the fact that he’s a fan favorite! or read hofas where he plays a major role! or noticed the fact that he has a backstory we have yet to explore! or seen that he features a bunch in the bb bracket!

so if neither lucien or gwyn are obvious protagonists for the next book and both elain and azriel have obvious hints indicating that they will be the next protagonists…just maybe if we put our thinking caps on, the obvious solution is that elain AND azriel are both the protagonists for the next book!!

Just randomly thinking about how Tharion and Sathia are the story that Eluciens are looking for.

An unexpected/unwanted bond(marriage in their case) without the cringing away, without the male getting angry and not being able to stand to be near her, without them being uncomfortable near each other.

There are still high stakes, like Sathia's status within the Fae society, there's another male that even though Tharion is building feelings for Sathia, he wants to help her. He's selfless with her and she even steps outside her comfort zone to defend him during the river queen scene.

SJM is showing everyone she knows how to write an unwanted bond(or marriage) and still make it romantic. To have those characters slowly show build up and interest. Elucien is not that.

Elucien is not romantic, they do not have any interest in each other and they have tried spending time together(see acofas). They are not meshing. SJM is instead showing you that Elain is catching her breath around Azriel, sharing charged glances with him, showing interest in Azriel and the absolute opposite with Lucien. Azriel is also completely selfless with Elain- saving her even though he could have died getting her back.

Compare that to Elain literally watched a kettle scream just to avoid Lucien.

Lucien can not even be trusted anymore because he is so close to Vassa, regardless of Elain(as per Mor.)

The stark differences in Elucien and Sathia and Tharion's stories are so telling to me,

it's like SJM is showing her fans what elucien would look like if she was actually making them end game.

Author and Gwynriels and Eluciens go hand hand

Irrelevant articles and E/riels go hand hand (Biased and misinformation over over again)

E/riels on X and Instagram are embarrassing and need leave fandom they make this place toxic and they feel entitled

Spam comment sections won't make ship written in next book and it does it show that E/riel is fan serviced and author will lose readers and E/riels will be ones to blame (especially those spam and I see a few user_names I see constantly and tired of them and even when report for spam they keep coming back)

I recommend looking into a mirror, nonnie, because the only ones I see being toxic right now is you and your side. There’s absolutely no reason for you to come to my inbox with this. Elriel’s are allowed to love Elriel just as you’re allowed to like Gwynriel or Elucien.

You think you have the author and books on your side? Oh, sweetheart. No you don’t. But I’ll let you figure that one out when Elriel’s book is announced.

Never forget that we (as in @icedflames @merymoonbeam @offtorivendell @mrspettyferr @dietkoke @wingedblooms @daisymydaisy @willowmeres and I’m sure others whom I’m forgetting right now) have theorized since ACOSF came out in 2021 that Truth-Teller might be used to break or unMake the Elucien mating bond.

Truly can’t wait for ACOTAR5 😭😭

I see this quote everywhere, so call me delulu if you will but I’d like to give my 2 cents

Tension: we see this already, Elain can’t stand being around Lucien, he makes her uncomfortable and he doesn’t even know if she’s worth it. They’re awkward around each other.

Growth: getting to know one another and deciding together they just don’t fit romantically, and both rejecting the mating bond or deciding to reject it

Healing: finding love outside of their bond with other people while acknowledging the role Lucien played in Elain’s trauma and Lucien healing from thinking Jesminda was his mate and thinking it was his fault she died, maybe even finding friendship in their bond without romance.

ps: I would be happy with either couple in elains book, I just think the rejected mating bond/forbidden romance is so yummy and a really unique idea (for a sjm book specifically)

Here we have Lucien telling Tamlin to “Get her back” when Elain is taken to the Night Court by the IC. He believes his mate is in danger and is putting the responsibility of her rescue on someone else.

His reaction is also clearly framed as instinctual. He doesn’t actually know Elain as a person, but he defends her because instinct tells him she belongs to him.

Despise these instincts, Lucien only decides to go to the Night Court to get Elain when Feyre successfully executes a plan to go back.

“I’m getting my mate back.” I just saw an e/ucien romanticize this, but again, Elain is just “his mate”. Something that belongs to him. He believed Elain was in danger, but made no move to go to her until he could tag along with Feyre.

Compare that to Azriel, who was the first person to realize Elain was missing when Hybern kidnapped her.

He was the first person to volunteer to rescue her himself.

He didn’t care if he could die. He was getting her back no matter what.

When comparing these moments, it’s pretty clear who is being set up as Elain’s endgame.

when elain is taking centre stage in an offical BB post suddenly ‘non-canon’ is a big deal but when your whole account revolves around non-canon ships (and non-canon romantic interest) it’s totally valid and cool. so you only care about not pushing ‘non-canon’ when it’s about elain’s achievements, but when it’s about your make believe ships it’s totally fine.

yeah let’s not pretend you gaf about what’s canon and what’s not, you just can’t let elain have her big one unless it has to do with lucien or nesta.

they’ve internalized the idea that Elain “cant stand just how much she desires Lucien” (he’s just so nice and soo hot; she must want him deep down) that it has muddled what she’s actually showing us.

Cause apparently now her interest in Az is dismissible. Great.
