I said this once, and I'll say this again, while Tamlin and Rhysand are both abusive but on different wavelengths, I am still frustrated that Feyre did not say anything to Tamlin about her PTSD and still got mad at Tamlin for not knowing.
Tamlin does not have the power to read minds (as well as he was dealing with his own trauma), but do you know who has the power to read minds? Rhysand. This is why I am less impressed that Rhysand knows how to cater to Feyre vs. Tamlin. He has not one, not two, but three bonds they can communicate through. Rhysand, for a while, saw every detail of Feyre's life, read every thought that coursed through her empty head, and could hear every thought--he better know what she was feeling. This is not impressive, this is expected.

It's crazy how history can repeat itself over and over in the ACOTAR fandom...
In the past people have contradicted the obvious voice that volume 1 posed for Feysand endgame by saying that Feyre would obviously end up with Tamlin.
In the past, people have also contradicted the obvious voice that Volumes 2 and 3 posed for Nessian Endgame, saying that Nesta would end up with Eris because of SJM's revealed dance scene. (And I say that by actually shipping Neris as a fanon. Because let's face it, I prefer Nessian. But Neris really has very interesting potential for me)
And now, people are contradicting the logical and obvious voice that volume 2, but especially volumes 3, 3.5 and 4 have put in place for Elriel endgame by saying that Elain will obviously end up with Lucien... Small bonus with Azriel who apparently will end up with Gwyn for these illuminated.
It's really crazy and ironic how much of this fandom NEVER learns the lesson !

Feylins confidently saying that Rhys groomed Feyre and then using things Tamlin has done to her as a way to prove that statement will always be fascinating to me.
“Rhysand emotionally groomed her when she was in a vulnerable state” Oh that’s not-
Did Feyre not explicitly say that she only fell for Tamlin because she was in such a vulnerable state and had never really received love before? Did Tamlin not take a depressed 19 year old away from her family in hopes that she would break his curse?
Now I’m not saying Tamlin never truly loved Feyre because it’s obvious that he did, but do you honestly think that his actions of affection towards her in Acotar weren’t at least a little bit motivated by him needing her to break the curse? I don’t think you want to talk about grown ass men emotionally manipulating traumatized young girls because the man you’re trying so hard to defend fits that bill to a T.
“He’s just an awkward fiddle player” He’s a 500 year old man who likes taking his anger out on his friends and almost killed his fiancé. Twice.

A really underrated part of acotar is feyre’s character development in realising she deserves better then tamlin

‘be glad of your human heart feyre, pity those who don’t feel at all’
im convinced feyre lost her human heart UTM and that’s why shit fell so fast with tamlin to the point that even lucien was like ‘mmmm feyre slow down’
i think the mate bond between feyre and rhys only rlly properly snapped into place when she turned fæ bcz human feyre was not equal to rhys and she still had all these human like qualities that connected her to tamlin more but then as soon as she transformed she became like ‘worthy’ as she lost her human heart and her wants and needs changed to that of someone on par with rhys.
tamlin provided soft affection whereas rhys provided power affection and feyres ideals switched up after she died so she no longer was interested in the poetry, picnics, art, dances and starlight pools tamlin gave her but wanted the power, abilities, control and dominance rhys offered her.
this very much proves why we cannot hold these characters to human morals and values bcz they do not hold themselves to the same standards.

The parallels of these lines
Tumblr media
Tamlin “High Lords only take wives. Consorts. There has never been a High Lady
Tumblr media
“Not consort, not wife. Feyre is High Lady of the Night Court”
Literally it’s the same line in reverse. Also the implication of Feyre having sex with Tamlin during a scene where she feels something is off (they are literally at the closest they could be physically) and Rhys and Feyre being physically separated but knowing they are more united then ever…
This is why ACOMAF is her best book.

TBH, the only good things that came out of the ACOTAR universe are: Elriel, The Archeron Sisters and the Suriel.

´´Azriel didnt even hesitate to go save Elain from the hybern camp! You cant just write that and not make them endgame!´´
BECAUSE THATS WHAT IM SAYINNNNN!!! ELRIEL IS ENDGAME LIKE IT OR NOTTTTT
When azriel went to saved elain it reminds me of when Feyre went to UTM to save Rhysand. Like it was sooooo crazy! Like this girl as a human going against fae she certainly cant fight on her own just for the man she loves. Her love for Rhysand is that deep!!!!
She stood up to the evil queen that ruled for 50 years and was 10x more powerful than the average fae but it was all in the name of love for her mate! She was not even trained and hell yeah she was scared although she literally killed two innocent fae for Rhysand. If that´s not endgame what is? She stayed locked up in that cell all for him and got tortured and died a insanely sad death. She was sent to the human lands where she was safe, fed with everything she could want yet and yet she went all the way back. She travelled for days in the woods to get to the wall. All. For. Rhysand. Feyre freaking spit in the evil queens face all for Rhysand!!!! She trusted Rhysand so much that she fought for him as a weak human over and over again while he did nothing and just sat there.
Her love for Rhysand was just unbreakable!
Oh wait...................feyre did all of that for Tamlin 🤪
but sure Elriel is endgame

When I started reading Acotar I really wanted to like it. Everybody was gushing about it and making edits and I wanted to be able to join in on that, but unfortunately the characters are just so- I don't even know. I just can't stand most of them. The plot and inconsistencies and just the force feeding readings things just annoys me.
I don't like Rhysand. I'm still on Acomaf but he just irks me.
Tamlin doesn't even feel like a character anymore.
I want better for Lucien, and Feyre- God bless her soul. Ever since she turned Fae her thoughts have been pissing me off.
And lastly, cause I saw spoilers, Rhysand and Feyre being mates just ugh. I hate the whole mate thing.
Don't get me wrong it can be done well, but I just know that's not gonna be the case with them.
Like the books had so much great potential. But from the moment I realized how cartoonish Amarantha was I should have knew what was to come.

“You gave that water-wraith your jewelry. Jewelry I gave you.” “We have a damned house full of gold and jewels.” Lucien took a deep breath that sounded a lot like: “Here we go.” “Why shouldn’t I give them to her?” I demanded. “Those things don’t mean anything to me. I’ve never worn the same piece of jewelry twice! Who cares about any of it?” Tamlin’s lips thinned. “Because you undermine the laws of this court when you behave like that. Because this is how things are done here, and when you hand that gluttonous faerie the money she needs, it makes me—it makes this entire court—look weak.” “Don’t you talk to me like that,” I said, baring my teeth. He slammed his hand on the table, claws poking through his flesh, but I leaned forward, bracing my own hands on the wood. “You still have no idea what it was like for me—to be on the verge of starvation for months at a time. And you can call her a glutton all you like, but I have sisters, too, and I remember what it felt like to return home without any food.” I calmed my heaving chest, and that force beneath my skin stirred, undulating along my bones. “So maybe she’ll spend all that money on stupid things—maybe she and her sisters have no self-control. But I’m not going to take that chance and let them starve, because of some ridiculous rule that your ancestors invented.” Lucien cleared his throat. “She meant no harm, Tam.” “I know she meant no harm,” he snapped. Lucien held his gaze. “Worse things have happened, worse things can happen. Just relax.” Tamlin’s emerald eyes were feral as he snarled at Lucien, “Did I ask for your opinion?” Those words, the look he gave Lucien and the way Lucien lowered his head—my temper was a burning river in my veins. Look up, I silently beseeched him. Push back. He’s wrong, and we’re right. Lucien’s jaw tightened. That force thrummed in me again, seeping out, spearing for Lucien. Do not back down—
A Court of Mist and Fury- Chapter 8 (Sarah J. Maas)
Tamlin's "rule" is build solely on tradition and brute force. He's implementing both in his personal relationships too. His view on the poor is that they got into their situation thanks to their own vices.
Lucien's submissive to him, afraid to argue, uncomfortable any time it looks like Feyre might object to something. He can excuse her actions, suggest a tiny compromise, but never really stand up to Tamlin, or clearly take Feyre's side.
They're insecure toxic masculinity and weakness of character combined.

Last post of the day:
I think it is ridiculous and irresponsible for the narrative of the series (SJM) to be more understanding of the emotional, sexual, physical, and psychological abuse that Rhysand (and the Inner Circle, by extension) inflicts on the rest of society because "reasons," however, the narrative of the series (SJM) does not lend the same understanding and listening ear to Tamlin, going so far to make everyone that Tamlin thought was a friend dislike him and suddenly be cool with Rhysand (with the exception of the Ice High Lord-dude, who still remembers Rhysand shattering the minds of an entire generation of children and is, yet, still described as being sort of a prick.) However, the difference between the two are the reasons:
Rhysand did not have to SA Feyre. He did not have to pimp her out.
Rhysand did not have to play this menacing figure to the CoN (who, as a concept, is problematic.)
Rhysand did not have to keep vital medical information from Feyre, then proceed to threaten Nesta for telling her (even if she was doing it for selfish reasons, Nesta still has loyalty to Feyre. No one telling Feyre about her possible death literally means she has no friends in that court but Nesta.)
Rhysand does not have to have sex with Feyre in a library full of SA victims.
Rhysand had no reason to not tell Feyre all those months that he could read her empty-ass head.
However, Tamlin did have "reasons":
He did not want to put Feyre in danger, therefore he did not allow her to train.
Tamlin had a reason for locking Feyre in the house: She was going to follow him into battle where she couldn't defend herself and she couldn't take no for an answer.
Tamlin insisted on Feyre staying on the manor grounds because the rest of the court has untamed beasts out for blood.
Tamlin wants guards following Feyre because she has powers she can't control, and people want to kill her.
Tamlin went after Feyre when he teamed up with Hybern because Rhysand allowed everyone and their mama to believe he was evil. It is not out of the realm of possibility for someone like Tamlin, knowing that Rhysand made Feyre make a deal with him to save her life and then kidnap her, to think that he brainwashed her.
And Feyre is so braindead that she can't read a room (or book) and know that sending a letter to your former lover saying you won't be back even though when you left, you couldn't read or write is not the smartest move. Or standing menacingly in a field with bat wings, talking about "when you have spent so much time in the darkness, you become part of it" with your "evil husband" in the back being equally as menacing does not look good.
Could Tamlin have gone with it a different way? Sure, but every action had a reason. And these are just some of the things I could think of off the top off my head.

Tamlins problem wasn’t only his abusive side honestly.
Even if he wasn’t abusive, had Feyre gotten married to him she would’ve been relegated to the stereotypical housewife. To be seen and not heard. It wouldn’t be a problem if that’s what she wanted to do…but it was clearly not her choice. This man literally listened to everybody before he listened to Feyre. He valued Ianthe’s opinion more than the so called love of his life. He was okay with shutting her out of conversations. He wanted her submissive and meek.
Like imagine me saving your immortal ass AS A HUMAN and you have the nerve to shut me out of conversations like that…to tell me to plan parties and shit are you insane? A whole future High Lady????
Tumblr media
I will never understand people who still ship feylin

Feylins are so upset because Feyre doesn’t fuck with her abuser😭.
“She’s so biased against him” Yeah it’s not like she was abused by him, almost killed by him, and then sexually harassed by him?
Why wouldn’t she see the worst in him when he’s literally shown his ass to her time and time again? Y’all are trying to call out Feyre for being “biased” towards the man who almost murdered her because he couldn’t control his temper but y’all can’t even recognize your own bias towards him. You people are so biased when it comes to Tamlin that you literally get upset when the woman he hurt doesn’t sing his praises. Wake up.

“Feyre had literally no reason to destroy the spring court”
A. It’s called facing the consequences of your actions when you’ve pissed of the wrong person
B. She technically didn’t do it. He did it. All she really did was say she’d hear the story of that sentry, and set the bogge on the twins. But by him refusing to listen to the sentry he made his people believe he valued ianthe over them, the people who protect his court. This caused distrust to spread throughout it. He had every opportunity to still stand with his people and not let feyre’s plans destroy the court, but it did, because she played on the predictability of him and ianthe

Claim to like Feyre as much as you want but if you genuinely still ship her with Tamlin, you’re disgusting. You’re disgusting x3 if you think you’re in any position to be a Rhys anti and preach about how bad Feysand is and how it normalizes abuse while shipping her Tamlin.

Tamlin sat and watched Feyre become sicker and sicker. He sat and did NOTHING to help her.
Feyre was throwing up every single night, having night terrors, circles under her eyes, and was dangerously thin.
Tamlin ignored that. He didn’t allow himself to see that Feyre was basically dying all over again.
Meanwhile Rhys says this
Tumblr media
He actively sees Feyre trauma and is desperate to find a way to help her.
