Feel free to cancel me over this, but I personally find the RoWen ship insulting and demeaning to Wendy’s character.
They have spoken perhaps twice in the entirety of the story.
One of them is a main character with serious plot importance and development, the other is barely more than a background filler character.
Any fic that features them usually relegates Wendy to an impossibly shy damsel who needs to be saved by her crush Romeo🤮. She barely knows his name, people! Do you think the girl who eviscerated demons and dark mages and dragon gods needs a rescue from some kid who can make different colored fire???
It irritates me because it essentially elevates this unimportant boy to the status of “main character’s love interest” without any justification other than to be paired with her. Romeo didn’t earn this importance or status (being the other half of the most popular Wendy ship) He was given that by fans who couldn’t convince of anything other than pairing the younger girl and boy together.
The only reason people latched onto this ship is because they’re both close in age, and the fact that Romeo is a boy. Chelia is also close to Wendy’s age (and actually has a relationship with her in the story), but people would rather pair Wendy with a bland, utterly irrelevant Natsu wannabe than with another girl.
Not to say that she even needs to be in a relationship with someone at all. Wendy’s done perfectly fine thus far without having a love interest, but if you going to ship her with someone, don’t you want better for her than the barely noticeable kid who had maybe 5 lines in total?

Katy Kirby Album Review: Blue Raspberry
Tumblr media
(Anti-)
BY JORDAN MAINZER
Cubic zirconia. Blue raspberry flavoring. Synthesizers: Do they truly possess less innate worth because they're not organic? Or is worth determined by the value we put on them? These are the questions Katy Kirby grapples with on her sophomore album Blue Raspberry, but in the context of self-definition, outward image, and the mind games of people in a relationship. Just like on her stellar debut Cool Dry Place, Kirby's clever wordplay elevates mundane imagery into deeper queries on life and love. Blue Raspberry, though, is more biographical and more instrumentally sweeping; that is, Kirby's first written album as an out queer woman, more emotionally complex than anything she's released to date, required more elaborate arrangements and production than the comparatively sparse Cool Dry Place. "Why wouldn't that be enough?" she sees herself asking throughout the queer love songs of Blue Raspberry, always answering by yearning for something more lush than bedroom recordings of bedroom-and-beyond tales.
Nonetheless, on Blue Raspberry, what happens between walls carries major consequences, and Kirby expertly builds up her stories. Take opener "Redemption Arc"--its title itself a reference to plot and narrative--with its initially arpeggiated piano and Kirby's vocals following the melody atop weeping strings. "I pour out a drink and I stand for a toast / I raise up a glass to your personal growth," she sings, ambiguous in her tone. Eventually, you realize she's being sarcastic, which mirrors her significant other's lack of genuineness: "You misspelled apology / You ended it with I and E / Diminutive contrition / But I still know what you mean," she sings, sliding a grammar joke into her barb. Towards the end of the song, producers Alberto Sewald and Logan Chung's pattering drums and distorted bass swell as Kirby tries to prevent tragedy, albeit recounting the dark humor of the event: "I lock the doors and I talk you down," she sings, quipping, "I put our reconciliation in my calendar." Leave it to her to supply an album's worth of sounds and moods in one song.
But with Blue Raspberry, Kirby's given us a whole collection of tunes tied together through their balance of romance and rawness. "Cubic Zirconia" concentrates on surface-level attraction and her attempts to nonetheless dig deeper. "Magazine quiz called you apple shape / You look to me like dollar signs," Kirby flirts, eventually admitting that her wants can usurp her needs: "I'm still craving that unstable sort of shine." The collection of key instruments on the song, from panning Rhodes piano to organ, gives it an expansive, yet tactile feel, an expert manifestation of how even the cheapest jewelry and plastic can gleam. The album's title track--whose writing process helped Kirby realize her own queerness--plays with similar ideas of authenticity. Her vocals are layered and pitch-shifted, horns and acoustic guitars muted by otherworldly synthesizers, the perfect backing to similes like, "Her eyes burn white as Styrofoam right into me."
Perhaps most rewarding about Blue Raspberry is the extent to which the same instruments can conjure contrasting feelings. Swirling, percussive textures and plucked strings on "Hand to Hand"--reminiscent of Fetch the Bolt Cutters--recall the unvarnished emotions of breakups, but in the contrast of "Fences"' statement of agency, provide a breezier sway. Sean Brennan's forlorn cello leads "Party of the Century"'s reckoning with the ethical responsibility each of us have as the world burns, while it menaces the slow-lurking, doomy "Alexandria", a song about something far more personal: the dissolution of Kirby's first queer relationship. For the whole record, Kirby enlisted the likes of Rowen Merrill to compose baroque orchestral arrangements to match the cinema of the album, which they do to great success on piano ballad "Salt Crystal" and chiming satire "Drop Dead". Kirby's anything but obvious, though, as it's actually the most gentle-sounding song that viciously guides you through the peaks and valleys of infidelity. Over a slinky instrumental, Kirby sings, "I turned off my location / Let her fuck me like you thought you did," before delivering the kicker: "I remember every minute." On an album concerned with inner and outer beauty, Kirby at least comes away with the realization that the deeper you go, the greater the permutations for levels of ecstasy and hurt.

Do you ship wendy and natsu? Why not they'd make a sweet cople
I'm really sry anon but I don't ship Wendy with anyone. Literally NO ONE.
Romeo : Boy calls her "big sister Wendy" so....
Sherria : I just love them as sisters, even if they like each other romantically in future...I'll be cool with it. But I see their bond as sisterly :)
Natsu : Wendy blushing because Sherria asked her an embarassing question all on a sudden isn't a "proof" of her romantic feelings for Natsu. Not to mention she just straight cut denied the fact and to top that, she said he's her big brother figure.
Mest/Doranbolt : This is a pedo ship so I've nothing more to say!

I don’t see how people can get confused with this, but I’ll explain it anyway
When I have a problem with a ship that happens to be straight and my reasoning for disliking it includes me mentioning the fact that it’s a straight ship...
It’s not because I hate straight or bi/pan/poly people...
It’s because the ship is heteronormative and/or it has toxic, sexist tropes usually seen in m/f pairings

I understand you dislike the ship of romeo and Wendy but is it just because that if Wendy wasn't frozen for 7 years shed be 20 and he'd be 13 PR is there another reason?
Because they never talk? Like, people started shipping them when they stood next to each other once, but I wasn’t really into it. (Also I love Chendy so much)

I'm hardcore chendy shipper, but as much as I don't like ro//wen it's 1000x times better than do//rendy. I mean, how can you ship a 13 years old girl with a 30+ years old man??? I just don't get it.     -- submitted by anonymous

hi~ i read your about page where you said you might write up your reasons for not liking some ft ships like the whole debate with fraxus/miraxus & chendy/rowen but i couldn't find anything on it on your blog so i wondered what were your thoughts on that? i know there's fandom arguments about homophobia and crackshipping there too. i’m a multishipper but i really like your anti posts for naruto so i thought if you had any ft ones then they might be as good!
Thank you! I’m really glad youthat like my Naruto posts. They’re pretty controversial, so nice commentsare always appreciated! 😅 Dude, I haven’t updatedby ‘about’ page in months, so doing that write-up completely passedmy mind… Thanks for being interested though! I guess I’ll spill:
Right, this might be quitecontroversial, so remember that any opinions expressed are just personalpreferences/reasons, okay? ⚠️
Like I said on my page, “Ihave a ‘manga > anime’ complex thanks to Studio Pierrot, so I only readFT. I wanted to avoid filler brainwashing, bias and only know of canon withthis series, after the mess with Naruto…” Therefore, I only really ship thatwhich I believe is substantially depicted/suggested in canon, and kind of havea bit of a pet peeve for anything outside of that.[ #1 justificationdisclaimer! ]
( 1 ) Mir/axus [ &Fraxus ]
So I was genuinelysurprised that Mir/axus was even a thing when I started searching the fandom’s tag, onceI’d caught up. I don’t know if they’ve been implied in filler, but theywere non-existent as a romantic pair in the manga. Honestly, theyhardly had any on-panel interaction… Like, the only evidence that came tomind for “logical” reasoning behind them was chapter 380’s cover art.(Maybe 329’s, at a push.) I even tried to find somesupposed “moments” under their Wikia page, but that listed was merelyscarce interaction with no romantic subtext; each synopsis was pretty muchgrasping for straws.
Here’s the thing –you mentioned the fandom discourse of “homophobic” accusations, right? Now, I too hate when shippers (in any fandom) cry that simplybecause others don’t ship a queer pairing. Like, c’mon. But, inthis case (and Wendy’s), I must admit that I do find it somewhatrelevant… Idk if this ship’s popularity (and, more so, acceptance alongsidethe actual semi-canon pairs) is because most have been influenced byexternal material or if it’s just because there’s no other member of the opposite sex that they’re paired with, but Fraxus was actually suggested in canon; emphaticallyfrom Freed’s point of view! Even on Laxus’ side, numerous chapters have moments that – here’s the thing – anyone would undeniablyaccept if either Freed or Laxus were female*.
[ My earlier volumes are enclosed in my bookcase, but I have 49 – 57 (Avatar – Alvarez) on-hand beside my bed, so I skimmed through to find (max.) five pages to evidence Laxus’ P.O.V. ‘cause this post will already be long enough. ]
Tumblr media
Chapter 416: “At this rate, I won’t be able to protect what’s important to me.”
It’s also worth noting that the official tankōbon/volume translation of this reads: “I’m not strong enough to protect the people I love yet.”
Tumblr media
Chapter 460.
Tumblr media
Chapter 462: “But that ain’t important now. All I’ve got on my mind… Is bringing the pain to the bastard who took out Freed and the others.”
Tumblr media
Chapter 472: “So you’re the one who did a number on Freed and the others?”
Tumblr media
Chapter 473: “Thanks a lot, Freed… There’s no wizard that could break your spells…”
*That’s the key consideration – that if you were to replace either’s gender for that of the opposite sex, it changes how these scenes are perceived. These panels, for example, are dismissed by those who oppose Fraxus, but they would be regarded as “ship moments” and a validation of Laxus’ affection if you were to replace Freed’s name in the dialogue and/or presence in the panels with a female (Mira)!
That’s why I can kind ofunderstand these claims, ’cause the existence and general fandomacceptance of these ships is very heteronormative in that respect (i.e.ignoring present queer pairings for heterosexual ‘crack-ships’) which makes it kind of discriminatory; reminiscent of homophobia perhaps. Although, I agree that term is a little extreme, as it doesn’t seem intentionally prejudiced. And whilst Freed is emphatically portrayed as queer, Laxus’ sexualityis a little more implicit, yet he is assumed straight by default… It’sironic/hypocritical because the majority of ships across all fandoms are typically founded upon onecharacter’s feelings, whilst neither Mira nor Laxus have shown said romanticinterest in each-other.
( 2 ) Ro/Wen [ &Chendy ]
Again, I hate Ro/Wen dueto a similar reasoning. Finding out that they even existed as a ship wasbaffling, tbh! I mean, at least Mir/axus had the cover as some rationale, but Ro/Wen is based solely on them being the same age… Talk aboutheteronormative? Also, technically, that’s an incorrect claim, due to the sevenyear time-skip in which she remained frozen. Like, she’s actually thesame age as Sting & Rogue. But you don’t find her forced with them. Why,because they’re older and that’s frowned upon? You know, despite the samepremise applying to Ro/Wen; since Romeo was half Wendy’s age when she wasintroduced (6 & 12).
The ship can’t even besupported with evidence, since they had no significant canoninteraction until the Alvarez Arc. Their only other contact was in an omake.Yet their age difference is evident in both; dismissing any reach atromantic subtext. In the omake, Romeo refers to Wendy as “nee[-chan]”.Similarly, she is presented comforting him like a child in their limited Alvarez panels, with him lookingup to her as that same sister figure. I have seen some of these shippers disregard Chendy asbeing “platonic”, when Romeo and Wendy’s dynamic isactually – canonically and strictly – such.
Chendy, however, do have asubstantial, visibly and literally present, mutual bond. They have extensive, plentiful interaction, as well as actually present romanticsubtext… I know that it may be difficult for (I guess) anyone outside of theLGBT+ community or a truly ‘open’ one to understand, due to ourheteronormative society – as Chendy are often disregarded as “justfriends” (🙄) – but many of theirmoments transcend platonic affection and bear intense likeness to theother romantic pairs’ depictions. For example, they are also featuredalongside the semi-canon couples in art-work, like Mashima’s couple sketches onTwitter.
Not to mention thatfriendship is the foundation of any healthy, romantic relationship! Of coursethey’re going to be best friends before engaging in such, particularly in thecase of same-sex pairs. Yet no-one uses this dialogue (of labellingeach-other as “friends”) against NaLu, despite them stating the otheras that same description on numerous occasions. But despite the justification mentioned above,Chendy are still dismissed. Again, if either were the male, it would be a completely different situation… I mean, since people shipcharacters based solely on covers and all – chapter 421’s cover (amongothers)?
Summary:
Obviously there’s nothingwrong with crack-shipping! And, no, not liking a queer pair [more than astraight one] doesn’t make you “homophobic”. But – in the case ofFraxus 🆚 Mir/axus& Chendy 🆚 Ro/Wen –I think that there is something kind of messed up with arrogantly defying acharacter’s canon depicted/suggested sexuality and/or romantic interest(s).There is something somewhat discriminatory about disregarding theirother prevalent, significant and actually developed bonds, to the extent that someone’sheteronormativity is so severe that they substitute a same-sex character foran irrelevant one of the opposite sex, who does not even have decentinteraction with the character in question; fabricated entirely from theridiculous, inaccurate [R/W] rationale of them being “the same age” or merelysharing a chapter cover.
That sounds much harsherthan I intended, I’m so sorry! Btw, I don’t blame shippers –everyone is (obviously) allowed to ship what they want! What’s stated above issimply why I’m against Mir/axus and Ro/Wen, especially as an avidsupporter of the LGBTQ+ community, a bisexual myself and a university scholar who has studied/written about this field.
[ I’ve updated by ‘about’ page now too, btw! ]

10th April 2021
Heller/Destiel antis outbid Hellers on Tombstone's 2nd draft script. Script was finally sold for 900$. Suspecion is that the bidding person did that so destiel shippers won't set their eyes on that script. They did win it fair and square, so no petty shit people
First day of Paris DarkLight Conline 2 (by People Conventions) behind us.
Q&A panels with Ruth, Rob, and Misha took place, as well as Meet and Greets and Robs concert
Another wave of info:
Misha said that:
he is proud of Cas' confession; wishes it was talked about in following episodes
there were rock love songs on the mixtape, but Cas didn't understand the concept of love song, nor the technique behind it (so Destiel is fully canon at least in Misha's head)
he doesn't know where does Cas store the mixtape, nor where does Cas store his other "shit". Says he came up with angel blade spontanically, he thought it looked cool, no one opposed, but mechanics of that were never discussed
Despair is one of his favourite episodes
Cas doesn't have a room in the bunker
when Cas as and Dean reunite, his first words would be "hello Dean"
there were no scenes he wished would be included, BUT there were versions of script he wishes were actually filmed
he's got a song he associated with Cas - Rachmaninoff's Vespers - says it is because at the very beginning, just after start of filming there was a long break, he went on a meditation camp (sthg like that), was meditating on a hill, with that song on earbuds and thought that this is how his character might be feeling, looking down on the world
in one of the drafts all humans were supposed to be present on Kansas' concert, including Jimmy Novak, that was supposed to be mistaken for Cas by Dean (people have very mixed feelings on that one), said it something along the lines of "it would be good cinema, good tragedy" (paraphrased and shortened but you get it) - actually I'm not sure who said that - Misha or Rob - but they were saying some similar stuff
deadline for the first draft of Misha's poetry book is nearing
he considers creating a food/travel/politics/ethnography show
Ruth said that:
there were more scenes with Rowene (either deleted or never shot), no completely different set
if Rowena had a a familiar, it would've been a peacock, but she might've had more familiars, sneaky ones, like black cat
A crown designed by Rowena would be heavy, golden, with rubies, Ruth would design something lighter
Rob said that:
he liked the finale
There were rooms booked for all the regulars, only humans were supposed to be at the roadhouse, but it was supposed to be kind of like the bridge scene with cast and crew in the back
if he could write ending for Chuck he would like to explore how Chuck is doing as a non-god
Chuck without his powers would live in the woods or worked and lived on a gas station. Either way he would be alone and miserable
He and Jensen wrote a song together, didn't decide where will it be published
Ruth and Rob discussed what would happen in the story of their roles were reversed. Said that if cast had reunion they should cosplay each other.
What will happen tomorrow?
And now weather

The Fine Print (Dreamland Billionaires #1)
THE FINE PRINT - A BOOK REVIEW
- by aakanksha and shivani
The book revolves around Rowan who is the Director of a Disney-like amusement park called Dreamland and Zahra is an employee of Dreamland. Rowan’s grandfather has died and left behind a huge estate, Now for Rowan to get a part of it (which is equivalent to some 12 billion dollars, which is obviously such a small amount) he has to do some magic work in the dreamland and that is where Zahra pops in. Every employee is asked to put in ideas and hers is the best so she is promoted to a Creator team, they propose new ideas to Rowan to try and improve the park. They start off as two people who don’t see eye to eye on everything (not exactly enemies) but then they also have their moments and at the end they get their HEA.
I was so excited to read this book after being suggested multiple times. And my experience actually reading it started out well. Was it too corny from the get-go? Yes. Did I still enjoy it? Also, yes. I liked the tension building between Rowan and Zahra along with their bickering. There were too many cringy scenes and dialogues, especially on Zahra's part but I let it slide because she (and her love for Pride and Prejudice and bodice ripper books) was slowly growing on me. AND THE DIVERSITY (she even added a Hindu mandap! my Indian self was so happy to read it).
The book started off good and by started I mean the first two chapters only.
Tumblr media
SPOILERS AHEAD!
But then it went downhill, The plot was INSTA lust, INSTA attraction, INSTA everything. Like his dick twitched in the second chapter, she was panting by chapter 3, they kissed by chapter 9 all while grinding against each other. I didn’t even know them as a person yet I knew all the desire they had for each other. I couldn’t feel anything for them, I couldn’t even feel the chemistry, like CHILL we are only few chapters in and you’re already devouring each other?
They didn't do anything romantic until midway. Where’s the buildup? Where’s the chemistry? Why couldn't it have been a semi slow-burn instead of this insta-lust and then nothing for over 40% of the book??
Tumblr media
Also, things were super repetitive and boring. Rowen lying, again and again, Zahra getting mad at him, Rowan asking for forgiveness, and Zahra forgiving him after some grovelling on his part. The entire plot was built on cliché and it made me cringe so hard
Tumblr media
Zahra was so annoying. How can she talk back to her boss? Especially when he gave her a promotion even after she was anything but professional? Her sunshine barbie persona reminded me of why I don't like summer. She would make the dumbest joke and would laugh like her jaw will drop on the floor any second. The cringe side characters like Claire—she's the bubbly gay best friend with no individual traits. OF COURSE. And the ever so jolly parents of Zahra, Rowan's cold father who turns into a good guy by the end out of nowhere, after being portrayed as an evil conspirator???
And then there is Rowan. He's portrayed to be this cold-hearted anti-hero in the beginning but it's all just a smokescreen. I hate when a character doesn't live up to their expectations and turns into a softie. Whatever chemistry Zahra had with Rowen at the beginning drowned in the gutter halfway through the book and I had to finish it just for the sake of it. And him taking Zahra on fancy dates and going out of his way to do things for her and then denying his feelings to her and making her feel unwanted??? That was a dick move, and there wasn’t enough groveling afterwards. He was forgiven too easily. Needless to say, the smut was NOT GOOD. I had so much hope for at least the smut (given Rowan's advertisement for needing a measuring tape for obvious reasons). I've never skimmed through smut before but this book made me. It just wasn't spicy, it didn't make me feel things. And the whole impromptu NYC trip made me internally scream—the private jet, the skyscraper, the sugar daddy vibes—screamed a knock off version of Fifty Shades of Grey, albeit the BDSM. ALL I ASK FOR IS SOME GOOD SMUT AND SWOON-WORTHY CHEMISTRY. IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK?
Tumblr media
The author wanted to make some breakthrough with the last few chapters and the board's meeting but all I felt was underwhelmed. And when Zahra gave that wannabe badass speech to Rowan's father and flipped him off I lost my shit. Girl what?
Final rating : 2/5
I'm sorry if you liked this book and had to go through my review, but it's how I feel. It had potential to be mind-blowing, especially with the diversity but it ended up not being.

thoughts on antis that accuse nalu shippers of being heteronormative?
This really is ridiculous 'cause ykw? A major part of the NaLu fandom ships CheNdy/FrAxus/StingUe. How the hell can someone with enough braincells call those poeple heteronormative? Lmao. Like I don't like Yuri/Yaoi personally but that doesn't mean I'll force any m/f ship possible with a character who's usually shipped with the same gender.
Those idiotic people just use this term as an excuse to justify their hatred instead of actually supporting lgbt ships. Shipping a het ship isn't same as being homophobic. It will never be.
I don't see how people are in wrong for shipping two people with outstanding friendship. Even if Natsu and Lucy were completely platonic, I don't see why the shippers should be called homophobic for that? There are plenty of ship moments ntm.
Wendy ships can be used as good example for my take : as I said, I don't quite like gay ships but I absolutely don't ship her with Romeo just 'cause it makes a m/f ship unlike most RoWen shippers (and BixAnna, RoGura). That being said, I also don't ship her with Sherria. I see them as best friends.
Then again, I ship MirAxus and StingYu 'cause I like the idea of them together since I'm into het ships. But do I spite other ships involving them? Obviously not. Especially MirAxus, they haven't had moments but I still love them. As for StingYu, they've had a couple of moments. I often see the MirAxus and StingYu shippers getting called out for being homophobic like really? Clowns?🤡
Shipping a ship and denying facts related to other ships(be it het/yuri/yaoi) for its sake are completely different things. I ship Laxus with Mirajane but that doesn't mean I completely ignore Freed's obvious crush on Laxus. Heck, I even think sometimes why Hiro had to create Freed as a love intetest for Laxus when he doesn't let him reciprocate those feelings and makes it an unrequited love thing. It still doesn't change the fact that I ship MirAxus.
Besides, shipping was never dependent on having plenty moments/being canon anyways. If someone wants to ship a m/f pairing with 2 characters that have never even met each other, it's just fine. Ship Ichigo and Lucy or Natsu and Rukia lol. Your choice. As simple as that.
Rarepairs exist and people ship those despite knowing they'd probably never be canon nor they need to be. I ship NaLu, but I get why people ship NaLi/NatZa. I'd ship Natsu with Lucy even if they weren't meant to be canon(Ichigo and Rukia) while still acknowledging whatever ship Hiro dediced to go for.
"Not all m/f ships need to be shipped" it seems ridiculous to me 'cause it's upto people's choice of shipping and using a statement like that means indirectly stopping them from doing what they like. You can ship whoever you like, be it m/f or m/m or w/w. It's your choice in the end as long as you don't act like a child and try to dismiss canon material that may or mayn't benefit shippers with different preference.
Idk if I typed properly 'cause I'm going through little tough time with my mental health. I'm having a lot of unnecessary mood swings and all. I hope you guys pray for me, love y'all.

It will never cease to amaze me how some shippers will go so far out of their way to explore (read: pull out of their ass) a relationship with no real basis or significance in canon between a male and female character
Yet when presented with a gay ship that does have development and importance to the storyline, suddenly they’re all like
“Well I don’t see why it has to mean anything, why can’t they just be friends :((((“
And it gets worse when they take the canon elements of the wlw and mlm ships they slide over and pretend like they belong to their stale het ships
I mean come on, at that point you can just admit you’re at least a little homophobic
(it’s pretty obvious that this was written mostly with k*/c/ch*/k* vs kiribaku in mind, but it also applies to a bunch of other ships)
