Du Black Friday ici vous ne verrez que la couleur. Je suis certes une créatrice avec des choses à vendre mais sur le principe les promotions, les prix cassés pour pousser à la consommation, pour vider du sur stock, à part du bruit et du gâchis.... cette journée marketing et commerciale qui pousse à la surconsommation de choses dont on a pas besoin. Sans compter ce matraquage publicitaire qui dure une semaine et qui vous brain wash m’épuise. Je n’aime pas ce monde la. Personnellement, aujourd’hui, j’ai décidé de faire la journée du noir, la couleur noire, une non couleur, celle de la profondeur abyssale et sublime, elle est enivrante et poétique et chic, avec son éternelle petite robe noire. D’ailleurs pour l’occasion je me suis habillée en noir de la tête aux pieds. TOMORROW | One question that sticks in my mind from the documentary @theminimalists, is “does this item add value to my life?” I continuously ask myself this when I’m at the store and I see a product or an article of clothing that I like. TBH, three years ago, I never would have asked myself this question. I never would have thought twice about buying a shirt that was on sale for 30% off because it was a “good deal” and I didn’t know what kind of impact I was having by purchasing it. I never thought about what happens to a product at then end of life or where it actually goes when it’s thrown away. That all changed when I learnt about where our clothing is made, who it’s made by and what synthetic fabric actually is (petroleum-based fabric blended with chemicals and toxic dyes that never break down) - essentially plastic. I learnt about where it goes at the end of its life and how we’re creating more waste than we know what to do with. Although, it’s hard to resist the sales on this frenzy of a day, do yourself a favour and ask yourself that question so you don’t end up buying something just because it’s “on sale”. By all means, if there’s something you need, that you have been holding off to buy, get it. I don’t believe we can stop buying things or clothing we need. I do think we need to buy less or none of what we don’t really need. I know this may seem counter-intuitive for a retail brand, but I didn’t start this brand so I could fit the mould.
