It’s time to make coasters from a bunch of HSTs from the box of scraps I got!
I’m aiming for 4” ish square, and I’m making A Bunch so I can give them to my endocrinologist’s entire staff because they have hugely improved my quality of life. Like. By leaps and bounds. I’d make them all full quilts if I knew how many people worked there but that’s maybe a little much so quilted coasters it is! And maybe some quilted mug cozies!

The way I have been exposed to COVID 9 times and gone to California twice and rambled around in huge crowds and somehow not caught COVID makes me feel like I'm both invincible and also going to get kidnapped by the government for them to synthesize a cure-all from my blood. And it's not just me, my mom has also never had it, and she spends her entire life touching people's mouths all day (she's a deacon and gives the sacrament). What gives

all things considered I think it's a good thing that my thyroid has been on the fritz on and off for years because it's allowed me to get used to the idea. obviously it'd be preferable if the damn thing worked, but you can't have everything.

Sometimes I really wish that Theranos hadn’t been a total scam, which is probably part of why it was a successful scam for so long. Like it’s such a pain in the ass to negotiate with your doctor and your insurance to get tests, it’s such a tempting idea to think “what if I could just do this at Walgreens on my lunch break and have it be easy”

doctor's appt went well today ✌️ she's not comfortable prescribing prednisone long term except as a last resort due to that being kind of The Nuclear Option but she DID prescribe me a much stronger daily maintenance inhaler + rescue inhaler & tell me that we can do intermittent prednisone courses if the inflammation progresses to disabling levels again, and that we'e reevaluate once i've consulted with the rheumatologist. everything was reasonably discussed and i'm hopeful that the inhaler will help with the brain fog/dizziness/fatigue enough to tide me over til i see the rheum.

One spot on my right hand has progressed from feeling like a scald burn to feeling like I splashed hot oil on my thumb and I gotta say I did not realize how much my love of cooking would help in being able to put words to and describe the different stages of sensory neuropathy.
